“Where is love? Does it fall from skies above? Is it underneath the willow tree I’ve been dreaming of?” No, you fool, it comes from within! This is the dilemma we’ve been dealing with as since we were advised to plant seeds of self-compassion and nurturing at the Cancer New Moon of June 26.
As evolutionary astrologer Steven Forrest discusses on a recent podcast about Cancer energy: “If you are forgiving toward yourself you’re more likely to be forgiving of others. Loving other people is easier if you love yourself. If you harbor negative feelings about yourself, how can you love anyone else? Actual love has to start inside yourself.”
Apparently the U.S. Congress didn’t get the message when they passed the Bigly Ugly Bill that cuts Medicaid & other social services--including SNAP, the supplemental food program for children & families in need, & more—on July 3. This was when so many who expressed concern about their constituents losing healthcare flipped rapidly from caring about others to caring only about themselves as we approached the exact Venus/Uranus conjunction in Taurus on July 4.
This week’s podcast discusses the Capricorn Full Moon at @18’50” of the Capricorn/Cancer axis at 1:37 p.m. PT & 4:37 p.m. ET on July 10, when both luminaries square Ceres, the goddess of the grain, & Hygeia, the goddess of health, squares the transiting nodal axis.
Ceres, known as the goddess of the grain, in tension with both luminaries highlights the chasm between compassion for others and selfishness. That’s because, as always at a full Moon, the Moon reflects the light of the Sun back to itself, highlighting the Sun’s shadow side.
And the square of transiting Hygeia to the transiting nodal axis points to the tension between doing the right thing through compassionate understanding that everyone deserves healthcare & depriving them of it in order to save money.
At this full Moon, the mature & responsible Capricorn Moon reminds the Cancer Sun of Forrest’s advice to “…be wary of excessive self-indulgence, & of becoming so mired with your own needs & [in your own] issues that you ignore the pain of others,” & to release this negative energy during the waning portion of this monthly lunar cycle.
So much for that, eh? This podcast outlines the details of what this latest piece of legislation contains, i.e., exactly how much money the U.S. Congress has agreed to strip from the poor and middle class in order to provide the wealthy—including billionaires—with more money to will to their heirs.
We look also at the retrograde of Neptune in Aries on July 4, and the July 7 entrance of Uranus into Gemini for the next seven years, barring a short retrograde period from November through April of next year.
We also note the upcoming retrogrades of Saturn & Mercury as well, and how with Mercury in Leo until September 2, we’ll be hearing loud arguments about how this legislation will negatively affect those most in need among us. This is especially true, too, since Venus enters social, talkative Gemini on July 4 through August 25.
This podcast explores the potential for changes in technology, electricity and our local communities when Uranus enters Gemini July 7, as well as the bigger picture energies of the longer cycles currently in play. Increased need for electrical energies & how that might affect local communities, apps that notify people when ICE is within a five-mile range, and greater issues around the collection of personal data cyber security threats, all likely all ramp up during this seven year period.
