Speaker 1 (00:00):
Now this is the FCB Podcast Network. This is Fasci's Pass.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
Hi everybody, and welcome into another episode of Backstage Pass.
Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's your host here, Victoria Elizabeth.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
And we have such a special guest here today who
is not only a talented designer, but somebody that I
am so proud to call a friend. We have Miss
Angela Schnetcloth, the owner and operator of Warrior.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
Girl Beads and Things.
Speaker 2 (00:41):
Angela, how are you good?
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Good?
Speaker 2 (00:45):
Well, you're coming fresh off a win, which is pretty
much for the Magna Feat Runway shows, a historic win
because this is the first time we have ever had
a jewelry designer to tie in the top scoring spot
with a clothing designer. Typically it's you know, the clothing designers.
So how how did you feel when you heard your
name called?
Speaker 3 (01:05):
I was very excited because I normally come in second
and I was just floored when I've heard that we tied.
Speaker 2 (01:15):
It is it's really exciting, and I mean it definitely
is for good reason. If you've ever seen a Warrior
Girl beats in things piece, they're handcrafted, beautiful using real
natural gemstones.
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Angela, tell us a little bit, take us back to
the start.
Speaker 2 (01:30):
Because anybody who knows Magna figue or has seen my content,
has seen your jewelry pieces most likely. But take us
back to the start of when you kind of got
the itch to do this whole thing.
Speaker 3 (01:43):
Well, there was about twelve or thirteen years ago. I
couldn't figure out what to make my mama for Mother's Day,
or what to get my mother from or my mama
for Mother's Day. And so I was in Michael's.
Speaker 1 (01:58):
And so I'm like, h she likes cameos.
Speaker 3 (02:02):
She likes pearls. So I went over to the beading
section and found and stuff, got the cameo, the beads,
the wire, the ends, and then I went home and
got on YouTube to figure out how to put the
ends on. And then after I did that, then I
started making a few more pieces and they sing, I know,
(02:24):
I'm doing festivals. And then eventually I wind up on
the runway.
Speaker 2 (02:31):
So how you ended up on the runway, it's a
funny story, and I can let you elaborate it. Elaborate
on that a little bit more. It was pretty much
dead in the middle of the pandemic. You know, everything
from I mean waffle house to anything else was closed down.
But there was a place called the It was the Hogmine,
wasn't it.
Speaker 1 (02:47):
Angela?
Speaker 2 (02:48):
Yes, in Lagrange, George, a great place. We've actually done
a spotlight on them before. But I was there and
I noticed this, well quite literally a rock hound, just
this adorable dog. Her name was Gracie. And if you
know me, you know I have to pet all the dogs.
So I see this cute dog. She's digging around, she's
you know, getting the gemstones. And then I see this
lady that looks, you know, she's got all the tools.
(03:09):
She really looks like she knows what she's doing. So
turns out this is Angela, and we come across, you know,
one another's social media, and then we reconnect about getting
her on the runway. So Angela, you know know that
you you've kind of made that trends. There's not so
much transition. You still do the vendor events, but you've
transferred from doing that to the runway. Tell us about
(03:29):
your first experience. I mean, you have models coming at you.
You know you have to kind of you have to
not only be a designer, but a stylust too. So
what is what was that first experience for you? Like
dressing these models and kind of prepping for the runway.
Speaker 3 (03:45):
It was a lot of shock because people expecting you
to know what goes with what, and I had to
very quickly learn fashion because I've always just made it,
and then we would come and pick what they wanted. Then
they're like, well, does this go with this? Does this
(04:05):
go with this? But I was very very blessed to
have some of the model moms helped me that first time,
and each show has been a learning experience, so I'm
able to to have a better setup each time and know,
(04:28):
like when you're coming off the runway, I know to
already get a glance at what you've just changed into
and hand you what piece you're looking for because I
had to study your outfit and then I'll hand you
the piece that because you walk in most of them,
and so I'm really really got used to just being
(04:51):
ready to hand you a piece when.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
You walk by.
Speaker 2 (04:55):
You've developed such a good eye as what I've noticed
for you know how the jewelry pieces tie together a
wardrobe look, because and that's really what like. We did
a show in Jacksonville together and there was a segment
where I was really worried about some of the collection.
It was actually from my collection mixed with some retail pieces.
I was so worried about the pieces looking so, you know,
just very ordinary, very plain, and then when you put
(05:17):
the statement necklace on, it really really elevates a look.
So I love that you've developed such an eye for
being able to do that, and that's that's definitely a
skill that comes with time.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
So Angel, we're.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Gonna talk a little bit more about your collection, the
you know, the components, the beads that you use, how
people can shop on you. We really want to spread
the word about Warrior Girl and how people can connect.
But on kind of a lighthearted note here, Jasperdute Warrior
Pup is your your mascot and a lot of people
you see, I love my Jasper, all the different shades
(05:49):
of Jasper shirt that I wear around, So a lot
of people have grown to know and love Jasper. For
those of you who do not know Jasper, you can
follow him at Jasper Dute Warrior Pup on instat and
he is the cutest little mixed breed. He's got a
large head and little you know, short legs and just
the cutest little little mix of everything. Uh, tell us
some funny stories and memories of just hauling Jasper really
(06:12):
all across the US for this stuff with you.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
Well, the first funny story with Jasper is his first
time walking on the runway. That was December of twenty two.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
He was.
Speaker 3 (06:27):
I don't know many how old he was anyway, he
was born in August, so and that was December, and
so he was still a little villa. And so he
walked in the People's Choice and as soon as we
got down in front of the judges, he just rolls
over on his back and puts all four legs in their.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
Gods.
Speaker 3 (06:50):
And then the most recent funny story involves you, because
Jasper convinced you while mommy was out doing a shoot
at the farm that he could have get Victoria that oh,
I'll be a good boy if you let me out there,
and then I'll be a good boy if you open
(07:11):
the door let me outside.
Speaker 2 (07:14):
I learned really quick that was not the case. Oh
my goodness. So for those of you who have not,
and also that's that's one thing to look up if
you look up Fouchet Farms, which is a beautiful like
six generation of farm with kind of some French origins.
It's just stunning and Eric Hatcher, who does a lot
(07:35):
of our videography, is the owner of that.
Speaker 1 (07:37):
And so, uh, we were out there, we.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Were doing a shoot and as Angela said, she was
doing her commercial shoot, which just she's such a natural,
you know, in front of the camera too.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
So Jasper's in there.
Speaker 2 (07:47):
And he's crying and whining and he I said, well,
do you want your mama boy? And he was, you know,
so convincing and just had me wrapped around his little
paw and I let him out, and I was just
convinced he would go running straight to Angela. Instead, he
runs the opposite direction. So we had probably seven people
chasing Jasper.
Speaker 1 (08:06):
He's a fast little thing too, he is, those little
short legs. I think I underestimated that load up up. Well,
thank goodness for that.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
I was wondering, how how are we ever gonna wrangle
this dog? Well, well, thank goodness, you've got him trained.
And that horses he was he was chasing.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
The horses as as dogs do.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
I've had a few experiences with that, but uh, that's
one thing, you know, we've went between you know, wild
Adventures in Dollywood and just you know kind of uh,
we we like a lot of the same things.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
It's crazy. Out of all the places in the.
Speaker 2 (08:45):
World, we even between our runway shows, we seem to
just run into each other, whether or not we plan it.
So it it has to be a kismet for all
this work we do together. We we just we absolutely
love having you at the shows. You you add such
a u such a great element. You know that jewelry
is just so unique. Speaking of the uniqueness of the jewelry,
one of the pieces yous just sold it it was
(09:05):
kind of shaped like a bumblebee and it had it
was beautiful. It was kind of looked like Brazilian stree.
Not sure what it was. But for those that maybe
are not as versed on gemstones, tell us a little
bit about what goes into the process of selecting the stones,
selecting the settings.
Speaker 1 (09:22):
How how does all of that work for you? Angela?
Speaker 3 (09:26):
Well, I find different gemstones that I like the looks
of and I'll then I'll find the perfect uh find
that to go with it. And you mentioned that piece
that was part of my Gothic uh blind that I
did for our shoot at the farm. Uh. But I
(09:50):
just I have my different vendors are different places I
like to source stones from. My Mason Mountain people in Franklin,
North Carolina. That's my favorite mind that forever. And you
mentioned hog Mine and then I do a lot of fossil.
(10:11):
I have a fossil line also. Oh, most of my
most of my fossils I source at the Reli Cream
and Severeville.
Speaker 1 (10:20):
That's a great spot.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Absolutely well that that is so, you know, I think
when you have the I for gemstones and kind of
know what you're looking for, whether you're finding the pieces
or the pieces find you, the finished product just comes
out absolutely incredible. So, Angela, how do we if we
want to shop on your line? Say that we're you know,
we're coming right up on Christmas when this is released.
Who knows Christmas maybe over uh, but but for all
(10:46):
of our kind of occasions or if we just want
to spruce up our wardrobe, how do we shop on
your collection?
Speaker 1 (10:51):
And how do we get connected with you?
Speaker 3 (10:54):
Okay? Wheregirl dot com and girl is g u r

my socials are listed.

Speaker 3 (11:17):

Christmas break to try to set it up.
Speaker 2 (11:25):

because I know I certainly get a lot of you know,

Speaker 3 (11:54):
Hopefully after the holidays that I finally have a little
bit of downtime.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
I know how that is. It's easier said than done.
