The operator of her funeral home in Colorado has pled
guilty to one kind of mail fraud as part of
a plea agreement stemming from accusations that she and her
mother illegally sold body parts from hundreds of bodies that
were instructed to cremate. Megan Hass, forty five, entered her
plea on Tuesday. According to the US Attorney's Office in Colorado,

Hess and her mother had operated as Sunset Sunset Mesa
funeral directors in Montrose, Colorado for eight years. They were
indicted in twenty twenty following accusations of illegally selling body
parts or entire bodies to third parties who were seeking
the remains from medical, educational, or scientific purposes and without
the consent of the family. In some cases, they both

had knowingly ship bodies or parts from victims who had
infectious diseases. They also provided the deceased families with cremated
remains with the representation of the cremate the cremated the
cremaines were that of the deceased, when actually that was
not the case, the two were charged with six counts
of mail fraud and three counts of illegal transportation. It
has it as material and pleading guilty to mail fraud,

other charges against Hess will be dropped. According to the

Hess will be sentenced at a later date. The mother
will be hearing a schedule as a hearing schedule for
July twelfth, according to AP News, we've heard of these
