and tonight we present you a compilation of strange tales
that will leave you pondering the mysteries of our world.
Long after the final word is spoken, I'm your host
Tim Hacker, and you were listening to cryptic chronicles.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
This is the way, this is the way. You're welcome
the scene scene. These these entities say what conque now
behind the big rib the doors if You're born.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
From the book Dangerous Games to Play in the Dark,
A Guide to Summoning Spirits, divining the future, and invoking
the supernatural, comes a particularly spooky game that you should
absolutely never play. So don't ever play any of these games,
and absolutely do not ever lose any of these games
(02:58):
or not follow the rules. Many of these supernatural games
or rituals, I should say, focus on contacting something or
bringing something from the other world into our own. However,
there are some games that have the opposite focus and
instead want to send the player somewhere else. This is
(03:23):
one such game. The game is called The Doors of
Your Mind. The risk level is labeled as low. The
objective is to explore one's own mind. The additional warnings
say only fire, and the reward, it says, is knowledge,
(03:47):
self actualization, and knowing who you truly are. This game
has been found all over and has gone by many
different names. The Door to the Mind has been called
the Yellow Door, Red Door, white door or black door,
but the overarching themes and the objectives are always the same.
(04:13):
It is essentially an inner journey that can be troublesome
to fragile individuals, but it can be invaluable for dedicated
seekers of knowing the shadow self. Despite all the different
versions of the game, the fact that in all of
them it is a journey to explore the subconscious is
(04:37):
a good thing because it shows that even though this
dangerous game has been around for a while in many
different places and cultures, you can be sure the rules
are safe if followed correctly, at least safe in a
physical sense, because psychological health is a whole different beast.
(05:00):
But if you follow the rules of this dangerous game,
your sanity should mostly remain intact.
Speaker 3 (05:08):
Give or take.
Speaker 1 (05:10):
The key to this game is that it is essentially
a guided meditation. So in order to be a guided meditation,
what does one need a guide? This guide should be
chosen with the utmost scrutiny, because you never want to
give somebody else who does not have your best interests
(05:31):
at heart a key to your subconscious mind. Choose wisely
and make sure it is someone that you trust completely.
The safety of this player in this dangerous game revolves
around who is chosen to be the guide. Before starting
this game, you will need some supplies candles, matches or
(05:55):
a lighter, and an alarm clock. A soft pillow and
recording device are optional, and the whole fire warning of
how dangerous this game is revolves around obviously these candles
being a fire hazard, so pay attention to them.
Speaker 3 (06:15):
How to play, make.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
Sure that you are in a relaxed state of mind
and enter an area where you can have privacy and
remain undisturbed for the duration of the game. Set up
and light the candles how you wish, and if you
are using a recording device, activate it. Set the alarm
(06:40):
to go off after an hour. Now turn off the lights.
Have your guide sit cross legged on the ground, then
lay down with your head in the guide's lap. If uncomfortable,
put the pillow on the guide's lap and continue. The
players then close their eyes and focus on relaxation. The
(07:04):
guide then shall rub the player's temples in a soft
circular motion as the player focuses on the sensation and
falls into a trance state. The player should let their
mind drift. When the guide is sure that the player
is totally relaxed and in a trance state. They should
(07:26):
begin reading the script. You are at the end of
a long corridor. Many doors line this hallway. They extend
up and down the entire length of it. As far
as you can see. Behind each door is a room.
(07:47):
Begin exploring these doors. Describe to me everything you see, hear, taste, smell,
feel and touch.
Speaker 3 (07:57):
As you go.
Speaker 1 (08:00):
In the physical world, the players should remain perfectly still,
with their eyes closed, deep in relaxation. The body they
utilize is astral and only moves in the mental plane.
The player should look around. What are the colors of
the doors? Is it light or dark? What is the
(08:23):
floor made of? What are the walls made of?
Speaker 2 (08:27):
What do they look like?
Speaker 1 (08:29):
Does anything illuminate the corridors and the rooms. Are the
rooms decorated? What's inside them? Are the doors all the same?
Are they all different? Are the rooms all the same?
Are they different?
Speaker 3 (08:46):
Also?
Speaker 1 (08:47):
What is the player wearing with this mental construct of
their self? Is anything in their pockets? Are they carrying
anything with them? How do they feel? Is anyone with them?
The guide should entice the player to explore, crying out
(09:07):
all the information and details from them that they can.
Throughout the experience. The guide's tone should always remain soft
and dispassionate. The player should examine each door carefully before
opening it. The door itself may hint at what might
be behind the door.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
What is the knob like?
Speaker 1 (09:30):
Is it hot or cold? Are there any designs on
the door? What color is it? The player may find
that some of the doors move, refuse to open. Check
the pockets for a key. If there is no key
and the door does not move, or is boarded up,
(09:51):
has chains on it, or is otherwise unable to be
opened by normal means, then do not try to force
the door open, because the player is not ready to
confront what is behind the door. To do so would
turn this game from being reasonably safe to becoming dangerous.
(10:17):
The player is not ready for what lays beyond, so
move along. The player doesn't have to open any door
or go into any of the rooms if they don't
want to. The guide should entice the player to listen
to their own intuition and do what feels right. If
(10:40):
the player opens a door and there is nothing inside
but darkness, then once again move along. It is a
dangerous room. Please close the door right away and leave
it without any hesitation. If the player open the door
(11:01):
and there is nothing but clocks in the room, close
the door and leave right away, because this too is
a dangerous room. If the player opens a door and
finds only an old woman that the player doesn't recognize within,
close the door and walk away immediately, and do not
(11:23):
talk to her, no matter what she may say. If
the player enters a room and finds a man in
a suit, leave the room immediately, and the player should
notify the guide by saying I found him. Then close
the door, and no matter what, do not speak to
(11:47):
the man in the suit. If the man in the
suit's encountered, the guide should end the game as soon
as possible. Just make sure the player closes the door
behind them. If there is a lock on the door
and the player has a key, then make sure that
(12:07):
they lock the door. If none of these dangers are encountered,
then the player should be encouraged by the guide to
explore until the alarm goes off at the end of
an hour. When the alarm goes off, the guide should
bring the player back to the physical world by any
(12:29):
means they see fit. The guide just needs to make
sure that all the doors that the player opened, are closed,
and the last visualization that the player should have is
the corridor where they entered this place. Receding from sight.
The player in their mind's eye should then visualize their
(12:50):
astral eyes closing and then their physical eyes opening. Put
out the candles, then stop the recording. The player should
then analyze while that was recorded in the other world
when they have a clear, focused mind. This can be
(13:10):
done at their leisure. The player will discover great secrets
about their true self by deciphering what was recorded during
their journey. It is important to note that one's mind
is not as safe as we may think. The mental
plane and the astral world are all connected to all
things as well as existing within us. If the player
(13:35):
does not see the corridor in their mind's eye at
the start of the journey, the guide should end the
session immediately by any means necessary. If at any time
during the journey the player is locked inside one of
the rooms, or is somehow detained within any of these
rooms by characters that they come across, then again the
(13:58):
guide should end the session any means necessary. Never stay
longer than one hour in the corridor. Stay on your
toes and watch your step because there's a plethora of
reasons that some things in the area may be attracted
to you, and know that there may be things you
(14:20):
encounter that you have no protection against. For the most part, though,
if you follow these rules, you should be fine playing
this dangerous game to play in the darkies.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
Always I thought it is.
Speaker 3 (15:13):

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Thirteen para scava deck trea phobia and forget risk a
deck phobia. There are two official scientific terms for people
(15:39):
with a superstitious fear of Friday the thirteenth. There is
also a scientific name for fear of the number thirteen
triscade deck a phobia. It is unclear how many people
globally suffer from this phobia, but let's assume those numbers
(16:00):
are pretty up there. In my daily life, I can
already think of a decent number of people who have
this phobia. This fear of the number thirteen and Friday
the thirteenth is explicitly entrenched in Western culture. For example,
you may notice in some buildings there is no thirteenth floor.
(16:22):
It just goes from twelve to fourteen. And who's to
blame them? Many horrible things have happened on Friday the thirteenth.
Here are a couple as an example. One the German
bombing of Buckingham Palace September thirteenth, nineteen forty two. A
(16:42):
cyclone killed and estimated three hundred thousand people in Bangladesh
on November thirteenth, nineteen seventy three. Death of wrapper Tupac
Shakur happened on September thirteenth, nineteen ninety six. Four Crash
of Costa Concordia, a cruise ship off of Italy, killing
thirty people. January thirteenth, twenty twelve.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Five.
Speaker 1 (17:08):
President Donald Trump declared a national emergency in response to
COVID nineteen on March thirteenth, twenty twenty. But many don't
know just how far this phobia goes back in history
and how its creation is actually directly linked to mythology.
(17:30):
In modern times, Friday the thirteenth is closely associated with
slasher killers like Jason Vorhees from the Friday the Thirteenth
horror movies, as well as the darker aspects of our
cultures under belly. The word Friday actually comes from the
Norse goddess frig or Friga, who was the essence of
(17:51):
marriage given an avatar form. As the centuries were on,
Frigia would be mostly forgotten as the progenitor for the word,
and it slowly became more associated with Freya. When Christianity
took over as the ruling form of establishments, Norsemen and
(18:12):
dramatic tribes were told that Freya had been banished to
the mountainous wilderness as a Satanic witch. As Christianity gained
more and more of a foothold in the minds of
the Norse, Friday became the day of the witch's Sabbath.
A new legend was born. The early Germanic Norse Christians
(18:35):
believed that every Friday of the week, the devil himself
would assemble twelve powerful witches about him and commit heinous
acts for his Black Sabbath, with the assembly adding up
to thirteen evil beings. However, there also seems to be
some influence from the Roman calendar on the lore of
(18:55):
Friday the thirteenth The rulers were all about oppressing women
during the Middle Ages, and Friday was the day of
the Roman goddess of love, Venus. The Norse and Germanic
people adopted this calendar and adapted it to fit their
own culture with their new Christian paradigm. Venus was the
(19:17):
goddess of sex, so to them she must have been villainous.
Frig and Freya, too were associated with sexual things, so
the male dominated Middle Ages societies could not have that now,
could they. So all of a sudden, Friday became a
(19:38):
day associated with villainy and evil. This fear of the
feminine and Friday coming from Germanic Norse cultures, could have
also played a prominent part in the fear of the
number thirteen itself. Tales of Frig regularly joining a coven
(19:58):
of twelve witches, making the total number thirteen were allegedly
spread by the Christian Church itself, but eventually absorbed into
the common folklore of everyday people. Christian legend from the
Middle Ages openly said to thirteen to be an unholy
number that signifies the gathering of malevolent forces seeking to
(20:22):
harm the human race. This religious propaganda being vomited out
by the Catholic Church, perfectly syncd with the Norse Germanic
culture's ideas of the number thirteen being unlucky, because, according
to Norse mythology, a party of thirteen was responsible for
sending the entire world into a state of absolute darkness
(20:44):
and beyond. I know a lot of people like to
say that Friday the thirteenth, the whole fear of Friday
the thirteenth, came from the Knights Templar being betrayed by
the French king and then screwed over, with many of
them being learnt alive. However, this is far far older,
(21:05):
not even comparable. According to the Viking myth, twelve of
the most powerful gods in the Norse pantheon were assembled
in the realm of odin Valhalla to feast and enjoy
a bountiful fellowship worthy of the Divine. All was merry
and well, with all the prominent and well known faces
(21:27):
representing the gods present and enjoying themselves greatly and feasting
themselves in the heavenly realm of the All Father. Though
they were assembled for a dark reason. Everyone was there
all but one. Loki, the god of cunning and trickery,
found that he did not receive an invitation to the feast,
(21:52):
and this was actually very odd. Loki was often the
companion of Odin and Thor, both the high and most
reverence inducing deities of the Norse pantheon, so his absence
kinda stands out like a sore thumb. It is Loki's
lack of an invitation that illuminates a distinct and radical
(22:17):
paradigm shift within the ranks of the Norse pantheon. And
things were never going to go back to the way
that they were in the good old days of Loki
getting wasted with Odin and putting a dress on thor,
you know, and Loki turning into a female horse to
get impregnated and afterward then give birth to a horrific monster. Nope,
(22:39):
the good old days were over, and the lack of
Loki's presence among the gods at this feast blatantly signals this.
And we'll continue with Loki after a quick break. You're
listening to Cryptic Chronicles.

Speaker 1 (29:27):
Continuing with our Norse origin of Friday the thirteenth, in
the poem Lokus Senna, Loki is depicted flighting with the
other gods over the dinner party. If you don't know
what flighting means, it means counter boasting, like a contest
of exchanging insults between two groups that are often depicted
in verses or rhymes. Odin himself was well known for
(29:53):
only speaking in rhymes, So I guess these Norse gods
were rapping and having a rap battle, which is kind
of awesome. Loki walks up to where the gods are
assembled and discovers El Deer outside the hall garden the entrance.
He asks what the gods are talking about, and Elder
(30:13):
says that they're talking about the prowess and power they possess,
both in war and out. Loki asks if they had
anything good to say about Loki, to which Elder says
none had anything kind to say about Loki and Loki
was not invited. Loki does not like this response and
(30:33):
says that before the end of the gathering he will
inject discord among the gods and quote unquote mix their
mead with malice. Loki then moves past Elder and enters
the feast uninvited. When he entered, the number of the
gods in the room went from twelve to thirteen. All
(30:54):
the partying gods went silent when they noticed that Loki
had entered uninvited. Loki broke silence, saying that thirsty he
had come to these halls from a long way away
to ask the gods for a drink of the famous mead.
Calling the gods arrogant, Loki asks why they cannot speak
and demands that they assign him a seat in a
(31:15):
place at the feast, or to tell him to leave,
making the whole situation very uncomfortable. I'm sure we've all
been there. The scaldic god Braggy responds to Loki caustically
by telling him that Loki will not have a seat
and a place assigned to him by the gods at
(31:35):
the feast, for the gods know what men they should invite.
Loki does not respond to Braggy directly, but instead directs
his attention to Odin and states, do you remember Odin,
when in bygone days we mixed our blood together, you
said you would never drink ale unless it were brought
(31:58):
to both of us. Odin then asks his son Voar
to stand up and give Loki his seat so that
he may join the gathering, but Loki does not drink
right away. Instead, he declares a toast to the glory
of all the gods, except he specifically leaves out Braggy
from the toast, and the god of poetry is greatly
(32:21):
insulted by this jest. Braggy responds by offering Loki a sword,
horse and valuable ring from his own possessions as long
as he does not repay the gods with hatred. Loki
responds by declaring Braggy will always be short of loot
and spoils, so he will not have any to share
with Loki because Braggi is wary of war and shy
(32:45):
of shooting sick Burn and for some reason this really
pisses off Braggy, and he tells Loki that if they
were outside the hall, he'd be holding Logi's decapitate head
as payment for his lies. Loki then calls Braggy a
bench ornament and says he is brave when seated, but
(33:08):
would run away instantly if troubled or threatened with harm.
And keep in mind that they're doing this in verses.
I'm not going to try that. But the flighting continues,
and more and more of the gods joined the rap battle,
but it doesn't matter. Loki completely destroys all the gods
(33:30):
but odin with his verses and rhymes, making them all
insecure and revealing their failures to all at the assembly.
Nord is the only one that comes close to matching
Loki's hot fire, but after telling Niord to be silent,
he completely rips him a new one as well, reminding
him how he was once a hostage during the Acer
(33:52):
Vanier War and that the daughters of him heir once
used Nord as a piss pot urinating in his mouth
and he shuts up after that, so York also gets
wrecked and everybody goes silent because it's kind of yikes.
He then talks about how Freyer Nord's son will probably
(34:15):
turn out worse than his piss drinking fother, but Tear,
the god of war, interjects and defends Freyer. Loki then
tells Tyr to shut up because it was a Loki's son,
the great wolf Fenrir, who bit off tears hand and
that's why he has a stub. Tear responds by saying, yeah,
(34:36):
he lost a hand to Loki's kid, but Loki lost
a wolf and the situation actually brought trouble to them both.
But Loki tells Tyr to be silent, and a second
time says that he impregnated Tyar's wife and that one
of his sons is actually Loki's, which no one in
the room denies. Yeah, Tears going to need some ointment
(35:00):
for that burn, but yeah, Basically, Loki annihilates any and
all who try and talk shit to him, and he
instills malice and conflict among the gods by all his
rap battleship talking. Eventually, Door takes him away, but the
deed was done and discord was spread among the pantheon.
(35:23):
Door is pretty pissed too, and says, Loki has done
his last evil deed, shout at Door a thunderer, as
he lifted his mighty hammer. Come my brothers, Dora fired.
We have wept long enough. It is now time to punish. However,
(35:43):
before he leaves, Loki has one last burn and says, ale,
you brew it ager, and you will never again hold
a feast. All of your possessions which are here inside,
may flame play over them, and may your back be burnt.
It seems like there's kind of something missing from the story,
(36:05):
doesn't there? Why is everybody all mad at Loki? Moral
of the story, don't purposely not invite the god of
cunning and trickery to a party while inviting you know,
all the other famous and prominent gods. Also moral of
the story, don't have rap battles with Loki. He knows
all your dirty laundry and will spit hot fire, destroying you.
(36:29):
But what was this party all about and why does
it represent a negative view of Friday the thirteenth. Well,
here's a kicker, and why everybody's pissed at Loki. The
party was about honoring the memory of Balder, the god
of joy and happiness. Balder was immortal, beyond immortal, to
(36:52):
the point that even the gods could not harm him,
and he was beloved by all mortals and gods alike.
Before crashing, the Loki arranged for the god of darkness
had to accidentally shoot Balder with a missiletoe tipped arrow,
which was Balder's one weakness. The death of Balder sends
(37:13):
Midguard and Valhalla into darkness, with all living beings consumed
in overwhelming lament and sorrow. Tick move Loki. So now
it makes sense why he was not invited to the party.
But what this tale meant to the Vikings was the
loss of a world where joy and happiness were balanced
(37:37):
with the darker aspects of existence. The death of Balder
because he embodied beauty and good in the world. Loki
entering as the thirteenth guest to dishonor Balder's party symbolized
that evil took a permanent route in Norse civilization, and
spread throughout Europe and the world to all mid guard.
(38:00):
This party is a metaphor for the inherent nature of
evil in the world, represented by the thirteenth guest at
the party. Balder was the most beautiful of all the
gods in all the realms. He was the son of
friga queen of the pantheon. Balder embodied all that is
light in the world. He was wise, fair and gentle,
(38:20):
and wherever he went he filled those who were around
him or just saw him, with potent happiness. His goodness
spread throughout the realms, keeping the shadow in balance. Balder
was easily the favorite child of his parents and the
favorite companion of all the gods without question. Before his death,
(38:43):
Balder had three dreams that troubled him greatly, with each
one more harrowing than the last. Third dream had Balder
in darkness and utter loneliness. Out of the darkness he
heard a voice filled with sorrow scream, the sun is gone,
the spring is gone. Joy is gone. For Balder, the
(39:05):
beautiful is dead. Those who loved him were greatly burdened
by this seeming prophecy. They discovered a way to make
Balder all but invulnerable. However, like I said, there was
one weakness concerning this whole invincible thing, missile toe, which
(39:27):
Loki exploited to bring about Balder's death. But Loki would
pay for his crimes not long after, for the darkest
hour of the gods approached, with the beginning of Ragnarok,
the god of cunning and trickery, was forcefully removed from
the gathering of the gods, honoring Balder's memory and all about.
(39:50):
He would pay for the crimes he'd enacted upon the realms. However,
Thor and the other gods didn't kill him then in there,
you know, for making evil a permanent aspect of the realms,
Odin chose to punish Loki with a fate far worse
than death. The a Father imprisoned Loki in a lightless
cave deep in the earth, where he placed the god
(40:12):
on sharp stones and bound him there. His bindings cut
into his skin, and they were very painful. Above him
hung an extremely venomous snake that dripped excruciating poison onto
Loki's face forever. The god of mischief had thrown the
world into darkness by killing Balder. And it is this
(40:34):
feast in remembrance of Balder that Loki ruins by being
the thirteenth unlucky guest. This tale symbolizes the dark fate
humanity is destined to endure when incarnating on Midguard, and
the ancient Norse Germanic people took thirteen guests at dinner
being bad luck. Very seriously as kind of surprised when
(40:58):
searching this how many people had this story wrong? You know,
how this Norse mythology and is tied with unlucky number thirteen.
Like a lot of them get it wrong. If you
do just a basic search, it'll say that with Loki's
arrival he caused Balder's death. This is wholly inaccurate. All
(41:20):
you have to do is actually read the poem Lokus Senna,
and it's apparent Balder has already died and the gathering
is in his honor. So basically, Loki shows up at
a party celebrating a person he killed that they all loved,
and he knows that they know he killed them, So
look at the giant steel nuts on Loki. The symbolism
(41:44):
in the poem is important, as is what it represented
to the ancient people of the Norse. It is not
the act of killing Balder. It is what the world
lost by his death, and the way they looked at
it perfectly represented becoming violence and chaos of the Dark
Ages slash Early Middle Ages. Death was as common as breathing,
(42:04):
and all because of the Thirteenth Guest and the untimely
demise of Balder the Beautiful. So as you can see,
there are many ways that modern Friday, the thirteenth superstition
as the day being unlucky, was influenced by Germanic and
Norse culture, not only by the era of Christianity, but
(42:25):
well before it as well. The tale of Loki crashing
the party is somewhat reminiscent of the Last Supper, but
the superstition is the same that having a group of
thirteen at a dinner party is bad luck.

Speaker 3 (55:32):
Always the history of UFO cults.
Speaker 1 (55:53):
The concept of unidentified flying objects UFOs has fascinated humanity
for centuries, if from mysterious lights in the sky to
complex narratives involving extraterrestrial life. In modern times, the establishment
likes to call them UAPs unidentified aerial phenomena, but let's
(56:14):
be real, they are always going to be UFOs in
our hearts. This fascination has given rise to various ufocals
that combine religious fervor with the belief in alien encounters.
The history of these cults reflects broader societal trends, technological advancements,
and human psychology. Many times they have been cringe, but
(56:37):
other times they had far more of an impact on
society than most would be willing to admit. Now keep
in mind here that I'm not talking about people who
are ufologists, because UFOs are real. Even Congress admits it
these days. Now, this stuff is all about people who
have taken this stuff a little bit too far, or
(56:58):
used it to take advantage of vulnerable people in the
creation of legit cults. There is a big difference here,
so in no way is this about slandering the community
of the UFO phenomenon. The early foundations of UFO cults
were greatly influenced by mysticism and the occult. Over the
eighteen hundreds, there was a massive occult renaissance across Europe
(57:21):
and beyond. The ideas that sprang from these movements would
dribble down to everyday people and be widely accepted. In
many cases, the esoteric influence from the eighteen hundreds didn't
go anywhere at the dawn of the nineteen hundreds. The
roots of UFO cults can be traced back to the
early twentieth century, when mysticism and occultism were thriving. During
(57:42):
this period, figures like Kolenoblovotsky and that Theosophical Society blended
Eastern and Western spiritual traditions with the idea of advanced
beings from other worlds. Although not directly related to modern UFOs,
these early movements laid the groundwork for the spiritual and
other worldly interpretations that would characterize later UFO beliefs. However,
(58:07):
the modern UFO phenomenon began in earnest in the mid
twentieth century, coinciding with the post World War II era.
The nineteen forty seven Roswell incident, where a supposed UFO
crash occurred in New Mexico, captured the public's imagination. This event,
coupled with increased sightings of mysterious aerial phenomena, led to
(58:27):
widespread speculation about extraterrestrial visitors. It didn't take long after
the flying saucers became a household zeitgeist that the emergence
of UFO coults came into being. Sightings were front page
and news across the whole US. Many Americans were obsessed
with the gossip of little Green men. In truth, there
(58:50):
have been too many UFO cults to really try and
cover them all in a single go, so I'm going
to just be talking about a handful of the most
well known ones. The earliest well known cult was the
Ethereist Society, founded in nineteen fifty four by King George,
(59:11):
a London taxi driver. Theist Society is one of the
earliest and most enduring UFO cults. King claimed to have
been contacted by an extraterrestrial entity named Atherius, who then
appointed him as a representative of an interplanetary parliament. The
society blends elements of Eastern religions, particularly yoga and meditation,
(59:35):
with messages purportedly from advanced alien civilizations, aimed at preventing
global catastrophes and advancing humans spiritually. Perhaps one of the
most infamous UFO cults is Heaven's Gate. It was founded
in the early nineteen seventies by Marshall Applewhite and Bonnie Nettles.
(59:58):
The group believed that Earth was on the virgin of
being quote unquote recycled, and that the only way to
survive was to leave the planet. They taught that an
alien spacecraft would take their souls to a higher level
of existence. In nineteen ninety seven, the cult gained international
neutriity when thirty nine members committed mass suicide in San Diego,
(01:00:22):
believing that their souls would be transported to a spaceship
following the Hail Bob Comet. Another pretty influential UFO ideology
is Ralism, founded in nineteen seventy four by Claude Vorilhan,
a French journalist who later adopted the name rail Raalism
(01:00:43):
is based on the belief that life on Earth was
created by an extraterrestrial species called the Eloheim. According to
rail these beings revealed to him that they had been
mistaken for gods by ancient civilizations. Emphasizes a message of
world peace, universal love, and the eventual welcoming of the
(01:01:06):
Elohem to Earth. UFO coults have played an even bigger
role globally in the Digital Age. The advent of the
Internet has significantly impacted UFO colts, providing a platform for
the dissemination of their beliefs and the recruitment of new members.
(01:01:26):
Online forums, social media, and websites have enabled these groups
to reach a global audience, spreading their messages even more
effectively than ever before. UFO coults, like the Love Has
One cults, are a little less well known, but they
still impacted people's lives, specifically over the span of the
(01:01:48):
digital age because they've recruited most of their people from YouTube.
Love has One was ran by a woman who called
herself Mother God, and over time she developed health issues.
When it got really bad and was threatening her very life,
her colts refused to take her to the hospital. No
(01:02:09):
matter how much she pleaded, she ended up dying and
the group a mummified and then worshiped her body. They
still exist today under the name five D Disclosure. There
is also the cult revolving around the Ascended Masters that
gained attraction at Mount Shasta in California. This one was
(01:02:32):
a little less culty and more woo wu, but still
got pretty popular and is still pretty popular to a
lot of New age people even now. Mount Shasta is
a fourteen seventy nine foot tall volcano in northern California
and has been a focal point for various UFO sidings,
(01:02:54):
spiritual beliefs, and colts. The mountain's unique energy and gela
logical features have attracted numerous individuals and groups seeking to
connect with the unknown, the paranormal, but most of all, extraterrestrials.
One of the most enduring legends surrounding Mount Shasta is
(01:03:17):
the story of Telos, a hidden city believed to be
inhabited by the Lemurians, survivors of the lost continent of Limuria.
According to local indigenous tribes, the Limurians possess advanced technology
and spiritual knowledge, which they use to maintain their city
(01:03:37):
and interact with the outside world. Mount Shasta has been
linked to over one hundred cults and spiritual groups, including
the im Activity, founded by Guy W. Ballard in the
nineteen thirties. This group, along with others, has claimed that
the mountain is a hub of spiritual energy in a
(01:03:58):
gateway to other dimensions. Some believe that the mountain's unique
energy of vortexes and lay lines make it an ideal
location for spiritual growth and enlightenment. In addition to UFOs
and the Marians, Mount Shasta is also associated with Bigfoot
sightings and the legend of the Yaktavians, a supposed group
(01:04:21):
of mountain inhabitants with advanced technology and spiritual abilities. These
stories have contributed to the mountain's reputation as a hub
for paranormal activity. Mount Shasta's unique combination of geological features,
spiritual energy, and unexplainable phenomena has made it a magnet
for those seeking to connect with the unknown. While some
(01:04:43):
attribute the mountain's strange occurrences to natural causes, others believe
that it is a hub of extraterrestrial activity. Regardless of
the truth, Mount Shasta remains a fascinating an enigmatic location
that continues to captivate the imagine nation of many. However,
(01:05:04):
one thing that almost all these UFO cults borrow from
and have adapted to their own dogmas is the idea
surrounding Ashtar Command. This is still quite prevalent even today
and influenced all UFO cults to come after it to
one degree or another. It is probably so heavily utilized
by tons of different groups because it has never been
(01:05:25):
pinned down to a single organization. Even the old Israeli
defense minister Haim Ashed has talked about the existence of
something called the Galactic Federation, which is kind of weird
to think about, depending on your own personal paradigm. According
to various sources, Ashd has made claims about the existence
(01:05:47):
of aliens and their contact with humans. So this Ashtar
Command stuff even spills over into the real world. Emerging
in the nineteen fifties, gaining traction in the digital age,
the Ashtar Command claims to receive messages from a vast
extraterrestrial coalition led by a being named ashtar In. This movement,
(01:06:12):
which has no central leadership, proliferates through various online communities
and channels espousing messages of cosmic unity and imminent contacts
with benevolent aliens. According to the lore, Ashtar is a
prominent figure in the Ashtar Command, a group of extraterrestrial beings, angels,
(01:06:35):
and light beings who claim to work together to facilitate
humanity's ascension process. Ashtar is often referred to as the
commander of the Galactic Fleet and representative of the Universal
Council of the Confederation of Planets aka Galactic Federation. Depending
(01:06:55):
on the cult, it could go by multiple names. Shtars
described as a spiritual guide working closely with the Sinanda,
the most Radiant One, an ascended master who once walked
the Earth incarnated as Jesus the Christ. Ashtar is said
(01:07:15):
to be engaged in earth'scension process, guiding humanity through a
transition from dense physical to physical etheric bodies of light
capable of ascending into the fifth dimension along with the Earth.
Ashtar is known for his communications with various individuals, including
(01:07:36):
George van Tessel, a well known contactee and channeler. These
communications often convey messages of warning, guidance, and encouragement, emphasizing
the importance of humanity spiritual evolution and ascension a large
amount of supposed messages from the Ashtar command are about
(01:07:57):
disarming the population as well as governments across the planet.
The messages also dictate that humanity must cease all pollution
on the planet immediately. The only issue is that they
never tell this to people who actually have power, but
they always seem to tell just random people with New
Age beliefs, which is one reason why many raise an
(01:08:20):
eyebrow at these supposed messages to humanity from aliens. Why
don't they tell anybody who would actually make a difference.
It's just randos doesn't seem like something an intelligent intergalactic
species would do. But there are many psychological and sociological
perspectives one could take on UFO cults as well. The
(01:08:42):
appeal of UFO coults, indeed, has been seen as quite psychological,
and most to entertain the beliefs behind them are usually
lonely people or social outcasts. They are also many times
lost and vulnerable people just looking for anything in this
world that will fill the void missing in their soul.
The search for meaning in a rapidly changing world, the
(01:09:04):
desire for a community, and the allure of secret knowledge
all play roles in attracting individuals to these groups. Additionally,
the narratives provided by UFO cults offer a sense of
hope and a cosmic significance, providing answers to existential questions
that conventional religions or secular beliefs may not address adequately.
(01:09:28):
Think about the star Seed community, for example. While they
are not a cult, they do give meaning to a
person's life that could be wholly non existent Otherwise, even
if their beliefs seem silly from the mundane perspective of
the normal, everyday masses, the star Seed ideas still positively
influence their lives. What is and is not is irrelevant
(01:09:52):
because the effect is still beneficial to them. But like anything,
even star seed beliefs can become toxic give taken to
the extreme. The history of UFO cults is a fascinating
intersection of spirituality, science fiction, and social dynamics, from the
(01:10:14):
early days of mystical speculations to the digital ages global communities.
These groups reflect humanities enduring curiosity about the cosmos and
the possibility of life beyond Earth. While some UFO cults
have ended in tragedy, others continue to thrive, adapting to
(01:10:35):
the new cultural and technological landscapes. As long as the
mysteries of the universe persist, so too will the allure
of the extraterrestrial and the cults that seek to understand it.
And who knows, maybe these UFO cults are onto something
and in the end, all the normies are going to
(01:10:56):
be proven the ones to be wrong. New age UFO
spirituality is not bad, so I'm not trying to diss
on them here. UFO spiritual beliefs are just as valid
as any other paradigm throughout history. I'm not here to
say what is true or false, but I think we
(01:11:16):
can all agree that UFO cults are cringe.
Speaker 2 (01:11:23):
All right.

Speaker 3 (01:11:41):
If not. Design out of the box.
Speaker 1 (01:12:49):
The story comes from the book High Strangeness by Kenneth Hughes,
which is an amalgamation of true and unexplained paranormal tales
linking the details of this episode. When I was sixteen
and I would jump on my trampoline out back for
hours every night, literally hours. I would listen to my
(01:13:13):
iPod and just daydream to get away from a rough
family life. One night, when I was jumping, a kid
ran past our fence at full speed carrying a box
about the size and shape of a skateboard. He ran
to the park behind my house and held it by
the edge, then tossed it into the air so that
(01:13:34):
it flipped a few times before landing on the ground.
At this point, I was a little weirded out because
he was just standing over it, staring for a pretty
long time, and then out of nowhere, he just bolts
full speed back past our fence like he didn't even
notice I was there. All right, that's a bit weird.
(01:13:56):
I just kept jumping and staring at where the box was.
The box looked like it was moving, then something started
to rise out of it. I actually stopped jumping and
rubbed my eyes and watched as what looked like a
full grown man rose out of the box that was
(01:14:16):
like two inches thick. He had an elongated head with
no hair. His skin was orange, and his eyes were
huge and pitch black. He raised one arm up to
his side and the box just kind of went into
what I can only describe as a trench coat. He
walked over to the only pavilion we have at the
(01:14:37):
small park, grabbed the metal beam holding up the overhang,
and started to bang his head hard onto the beam,
over and over. At this point, I had rubbed my
eyes quite a few times and couldn't even move. I
had no idea what I was seeing. Then, without warning,
he just stopped and his head quickly whipped around and
(01:14:59):
stared right at me. It was like he could feel
me watching him. A giant, and I mean giant smile
came across his face as those dark eyes just stared
at me. He tilted his head back and forth a
few times. I had goosebumps and my eyes started to
(01:15:22):
tear up. Even typing this is making my hair stand
on edge, because I won't ever forget that look. As
I was about to start crying, and I don't know
why I wanted to cry, but his face just filled
me with terror. He turned around and kind of phased
(01:15:43):
down the road, often too the distance phased, the way
those units of pro toss have in StarCraft leave a
trail of themselves for a short period of time. If
that helps to explain it. He was gone, now, was it.
I bawled my eyes out and sprinted inside and called
my best friend, who was sure to me I was
(01:16:05):
seeing things and needed to calm down. I'm sure I
sound insane and no one will believe me, but this
is the creepiest thing that has ever happened to me.
I know what I saw, and to this day when
I think about it, my eyes begin to water and
my hair stands on edge. I never saw anything like
(01:16:27):
it since.
Speaker 7 (01:16:38):
It was.
Speaker 2 (01:16:44):
Well, I always as it is smarter.
Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
The void source reddits or slash or colds trash Panda.
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
I think I found myself in the void during meditation.
It was this vast empty space, completely dark except for
this tiny blue flame I found. For me, this was
a profound experience, and I was completely at peace. I
had never heard of the void before until I started
doing some research trying to better understand this experience. I
(01:17:50):
still think about it often, but I think this desire
to understand it is what prevents me from returning curious
to hear others thoughts and experiences with the void.
Speaker 3 (01:18:04):
Er my awe.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
Understanding will come to you when you cease to look
for it. What you've experienced is very common in deep meditation,
including the flame, which can be any color. But it's
all good. Next time it happens, stay at peace, try
not to think about anything at all. Just be still
and silent, and you may see and experience a whole
(01:18:28):
lot more. But if you do, it's best to keep
it to yourself, as the views of others, however well meant,
may influence your thinking. Adversely, free to aden emptiness is
for form is emptiness, not propelled thought. My first experience
(01:18:50):
with the void was an occurrence I have been thinking
almost every day since it happened a few years ago.
After feeling like being slingshotted tunnel, I also found myself
floating in the darkest, vastest space imaginable, wondering if I
had gone blind. I raised my hand and looked at it,
(01:19:11):
as I still had some sense of having limbs. I
could sense my arm being there, but I wasn't made
of that same complete darkness that surrounded me. I felt
very tranquil, like being in a mother's womb. A feeling
of returning home filled me. The void was also completely silent,
(01:19:32):
as the last fragments of my sense of self dispersed.
I could only describe the feeling alike to uncovering a
statue where my humanity slid off me, only leaving a
paceless personality, less universal observer. Had I been alive or
human at all did not matter to me anymore. I
(01:19:53):
was in a state of complete amnesia to all that up, down, left,
right did a exist? As I felt like having a
three hundred and sixty degree vision to study this inky void,
I found two spheres of golden light, small as a
single atom and huge as a giant star at the
same time. As much as they found me. The light
(01:20:15):
didn't radiate from these perfect orbs of rose goldfire, but
was contained within as if I was looking directly into
pupil as eyes. And they filled my soul with such joy,
such ecstasy, I have no earthly words for it. I
knew I had to command these orbs to merge, and
they did. The merging was not an explosion, more like
(01:20:38):
they slid into each other with no friction at all,
becoming one and berthing an array of geometric patterns that
stacked on each other like crystalline structures of golden tiles.
I watched worlds growing and dying for an eternity. Time
did not matter to me. I especially remembered the golden
pieces creating a tree which looked much which like broccoli,
(01:21:01):
with cloudy masses for leaves, and this mist foliage I
could shape easily as sculptors clay into my own liking.
As the gold filled void started to fade, I slowly
regained the consciousness of my physical body, loaded with such
charge of emotional energy that the first thing I noticed
(01:21:21):
was the amount of tears running down my face. I
had never before been so touched in my life. Typhoid,
I started digging into chaos in the primordial sense as
best as I could. I explored the limits of what's
as and could be, and realized the boundaries between things
(01:21:43):
or aspects of my experience rather than of that chaos.
After so long feeling the immensity of an undivided, all
ever unfolding connections of an infinitely connected whole, it felt
like I was feeling everything there was to feel, but
was only aware of a fraction of it. I don't
know when exactly it flipped. I know I didn't go
(01:22:06):
from contemplating Spinoza's God to falling in love with an
endlessly annihilating void overnight, but the change was so subtle
I guess I lost it in retrospect. Regardless, infinite connection
gave rise to a steady descent into dissolving. My experience
has been fairly similar to what you're describing, down to
(01:22:30):
that solitary flame. I've been doing my best to let
it go out. I think i'd better understand my experience
for having jumped into the free fall. I doubt understanding
is valuable to any degree beyond an attachment to understanding,
and I need to let go, but I appreciate it
for now. It's not peace really. This process certainly hasn't
(01:22:55):
improved my sense of wellness or well being, but it
comes with a sort of satisfaction you get from staring
into the sun. Colonel Piper, void is a concept that
has always interested me, and I always felt some pull
towards that While meditating. I always try to reach the void,
both outside by imagining myself in total darkness and inside
(01:23:20):
by clearing myself from all thoughts and emotions. However, I
never saw that flame you're talking about. Just playing darkness
void is fascinating. Sometimes it can be scary because when
you stare into the abyss, the abyss stares back at you.
But more often it's calm. It's curious from both scientific
(01:23:41):
and occult point of view. However, it isn't just nothingness
as some may think or say. Void is what's unknown, hidden,
or incomprehensible, which means it's basically a sense of the occult,
the ultimate secret of secret arts. Some say that the
void can be dangerous. However, only danger I encountered is
(01:24:05):
my pull towards it. Sometimes I end up disconnected from reality,
staring blankly, not thinking, not reacting to my surrounding. That's
