with values. So you know what I'm gonna tell you
to do. Go get comfy, get cozy, get your coffee

(00:53):
Hello everyone, and thank you so much for joining me
here for Daily Spark with Doctor Angela. I am your
host and I am so excited to be able to
talk to you today about this topic. As a part
of the Aligned Conference, we want to make sure that
you are in alignment for this year, for this season,
(01:20):
for this phase or stage of your life. Now, our
scripture that anchors us is habaka two versus two and three. Now,
with that said, let's get started with the show again.
Good morning, good afternoon, or good evening. Wherever you are
(01:42):
listening from around the world, you're tuning in a daily's
work for Dartia Angela, and I am so happy to
be a part of your day. We are bringing faith
and inspiration for this day, for this event. I am
here today to make sure that you are kicking off
(02:04):
your new month, your new quarter, your new stage or
phase in your life with this special Aligned season where
we focus on leadership, purpose, and living in divine alignment.
Our topic today is aligning a vision with values. So
(02:25):
what does it really mean to lead with vision? And
just as important, what happens when the vision we're chasing
drifts away from the values that define us. That's what
we're unpacking in today's show. So let's start with our
scripture for this episode, a buck up two versus two
(02:49):
through three. Then the Lord replied, write down the revelation
and make it playing on tablets so that a herald
may run with it. For the revelation awaits an appropriate time.
It speaks of the end and will not prove false.
(03:12):
Though it lingers wait for it, it will certainly come
and will not delay. I love this scripture, and so
many people are familiar with it, as I'm sure you are.
We use it all the time to inspire us and
encourage us to do that thing which we need to do.
(03:36):
Then the Lord replied, write down the revelation and make
it plain on tablets, so that a herald may run
with it. For the revelation awaits an appointed time. It
speaks of the end and will not prove false, though
it linger wait for it. It will certainly come and
(03:58):
will not. What an encouragement for us to understand that
when we write the plan, when we have the plan
and work that plan, it doesn't matter what we see
with our eyes. And isn't it great to know that
there will be no delay ultimately in the plan that
(04:22):
God has for our lives. That that word, that scripture,
that alone reminds us that vision is not just a
good idea, but that it is God's idea. But to
walk it out, our vision must align with our other
values as well. So let's talk about it, looking at
(04:48):
the drift between vision and values. How many of us
started with a vision that was pure, It was inspired
and full of purpose, But somewhere along the way things
got blurry, somewhere along the way, life began to life,
(05:15):
and it just didn't seem to have the cohesiveness that
we thought we would have. So many times we hear
people say things like, oh, Heavens, I thought that I
would be further along in my career. I thought that
I would have this, that, and perhaps even the other.
Speaker 2 (05:36):
By now, you thought that you would be able to afford,
do be, or see certain things.
Speaker 1 (05:48):
It's a conversation that many have had, and even more
have had that conversation with themselves as simply and simply
not shared it with you. Maybe the money came in
and it shifted how decisions were made. Maybe the money
(06:11):
didn't come in and that shifted how decisions were made.
Maybe other people's opinions drowned out the original heartbeat, and
that can be a tough one. I talk all the
time about how if God has given you a vision,
you cannot allow someone else who God did not give
(06:35):
that vision to you, to drown out, to dilute the
thing that God has given to you. Maybe pressure made
you compromise little by little until your vision no longer
reflected your values. You were trying to fit in when
(06:58):
you were made to stand out not in a negative way,
not in a way that is brass or arrogant, or
conceited or conflated in any way. But you were made
to not fit in, but to stand out because God
is shining a light on you, on your topic, on
(07:21):
your business, on your brand, on your subject matter. It's
just your time in the spotlight. See. Alignment means that
what we're building outwardly reflects what we believe inwardly. When
vision and values drift apart, the result is burnout, confusion,
(07:46):
and eventually collapse. But when we walk together, when we
create something sustainable and powerful and God centered, that changes everything. See.
Being in alignment also means that you have to watch
the words you say. No, sure, all good intentions matter,
(08:12):
of course, but even in your good intentions, when you
speak about yours or someone else's, are you inadvertently diminishing, diluting,
putting your splash of seasoning into the recipe when you
(08:33):
say things that, again, you don't mean any harm, but
they detract from what that person is doing, or even
what you are doing. We've seen it on social media,
we've heard it in conversations. So how's your little business doing?
(08:55):
Are you guys still working? That little plan. Don't be condescending.
Don't belittle someone else's vision, their efforts on their work.
Or we might say things like, well, you know she
does it for the love of the business. She's not
making too much money off of it. Well, you know
(09:16):
he's not a rich man. He just does it because
he loves it. That, in its way, is telling someone
else that you believe that that person is not of
the highest value, or else you wouldn't qualify it with
the monetary statement they're not rich. Oh well, they just
(09:38):
do it for the love, not for the money. Only
when someone is not making an income that you feel
is not where it should be do people make those statements.
So let's leave that for the person to discuss. Let's
(09:58):
allow people to frame their vision the way that God
has given it to them. Let's not detract from what
God has given them. See think about it this way.
Vision without values is ambition without integrity. It can move fast,
(10:22):
but it won't last. Values without vision is passion without direction.
It feels good, but it doesn't grow. But when you
bring vision and values together, you build something that not
only grows, but it also honors God and it leaves
(10:46):
a legacy. So today, I want to ask you where
in your leadership journey might you have drifted as a
mentor have you, in it vertainly said something about to
or with someone that maybe you shouldn't have. Have you
(11:09):
said something in your personal life about yourself, about your family,
about your brand, about your build that now you realize
shouldn't have put that into the atmosphere? Where does your
vision need to realign with the values that God has
placed in your heart? Remember, He gives you both the
(11:34):
vision and the value, and they are meant to work together.
Don't you take them apart? Well, everyone, it's time for
us to take a very short break. But don't worry.
When we get back, we will continue this some day.
We'll be back right after this and we are back.
(12:10):
Thank you so much for joining me for Daily Spark
with doctor Angela. I'm your host doestor Angela but Schuester.
Today we are talking about aligning vision and values. Let's
jump back into that conversation. So you know, another thing
that we need to be aware of are the practical
alignment steps. There are steps to everything we do, to
(12:35):
anything that is important to us, that is substantial, that
provides us with a sense of fill in the blank,
of belonging, of purpose, of love that aligns us with
a particular mindset. There are always some steps that we
can take to assure that we are in that alignment,
(12:57):
that we are working that path as best we can.
So let's take a look at some of those steps.
So in doing so, we are allowing ourselves to be practical,
because talking about vision and values is powerful, but living
(13:19):
and out requires daily choices. So if we're going to
do a something, it needs to be practical. It needs
to be as simple as possible so that it is
easy to continue to do. And we know that with
other things that we have done in our lives. The
(13:40):
more difficult you make something, the easier, the quicker, the
faster someone's going to say, you know what, never mind, don't.
I don't want to do this. So I can't use this,
that and the other. I can't say this, that and
the other. I can't be this that or the other.
I can't do this that or the other. It can
only be at this time, it can only be on
these days. It can only be in this location, and
(14:04):
none of that is where I am, who I am,
or where you know what? Never mind right, because it
just becomes just too much. It becomes overwhelming. So the steps,
the tips I'm going to give you super simple. Let's
(14:25):
take a look. Number one, identify your core values. Your
core values, you already know what those are. Not the
ones that sound nice, but the ones that truly govern
your life. If your value, if you value integrity, then
(14:47):
shortcuts should never be an option. So if you value family,
then success can't come at the total cost of those relationships.
Will there be moments where your family is going to
have to understand, of course, but there are also going
to be those moments where you have to understand your family. Now,
(15:13):
don't get me wrong. Building a brand and a business
requires your effort that it requires your time. You are,
after all, building a legacy. But you can't miss every recital,
you can't miss every game. It doesn't mean that you've
(15:37):
given up on the vision. It doesn't mean that you've
dropped the ball and said who cares about this legacy?
It just means that for that moment, for that day,
your family is honored in your life just like your business,
and your family will appreciate it. Number two, you're testing
(16:01):
your vision against your values. Ask yourself, is what I'm
pursuing consistent with who I am and what I believe.
For example, if your vision is to build a business,
but your value is service, are you creating a business
(16:22):
that truly serves others or is it only serving your
bank account? Let me tell you your clients. Your customers
are going to be able to tell the difference, and
they're going to post it on social media. So if
you're doing something that goes against the values of who
(16:47):
you are, people are going to see that. If you
say that you care about animals, but then you hire
people that are doing harmful things to those animals, yeah,
people are gonna say, don't go there. I use that
grooming service and come to find out the groomers were,
(17:08):
you know, being harmful to the animals. Don't do that, Okay,
So we need to be really, really mindful and really
aware of what's going on in all aspects of what
we do. Number three invite accountability. Every leader needs people
(17:31):
around them who will say, hey, you're drifting. That doesn't
look like what you said God called you to do.
Accountability isn't control its protection. Now, I do also need
to make sure that I clarify this. Not everyone is
going to be selected as your accountability partner. Some people
(17:54):
are just kind of micromanagers. Some people are bossy, some
people are nosy. Some people will just want to merge
their lane with your lane to be all in your business. Literally,
With that being said, that's probably not the person that
you're looking for. Right. Your accountability person is someone that
(18:17):
you trust. Is someone that you're going to go to
and say, hey, i'm working on this thing, and as
my mentor, I want you to help me stay accountable
as someone that I trust, someone who's in the business,
someone who's been here before, whatever qualifier you want to
use there, you are the person that I am coming
to and I want you to help keep me on track. Now,
(18:40):
if you are a bigger brand in that you have
an assistant, you have a co chair, you have a
committee that you're dealing with, guess what, they too, are
going to help keep you accountable. They're going to help
keep you on track because there's always that one person
who says, wait a minute, I have a question, and
that question is the thing that's going to help bump
(19:02):
you back onto your path if you have drifted off
ever so slightly. Now, we don't want the person who's
on the committee who simply just wants to hear them
self talk. That's not the purpose. But we do have
if we have chosen correctly, if we've chosen really great
people to be on our team, then yes, we do
(19:25):
want to ask that person who is naturally inquisitive to
be on the committee why. Because they're not trying to
usurp your power, they're not trying to take your place
or be your boss or any of those things. They
are really and truly asking the questions that are going
to make you great, that are going to make you
better than you are right now because they are really
(19:49):
trying to find the places where if there's any daylight,
and it shouldn't be, they want to make sure that
your brand, your product, your launch is airtight, and we
should applaud those people for that. Now, again, we don't
want someone who's, you know, just trying to be a busybody,
but someone who is truly trying to look out for
(20:12):
you and your and your bill as well as your
vision and step foward would be be willing to pause
and realign. These are practical alignment steps before be willing
(20:32):
to pause and realign. Now, sometimes the brievest thing that
you can do is stop, stop the project, stop the partnership,
stop the cycle, bring it back into alignment. Because moving
(20:54):
fast in the wrong direction only takes you further from
God's plan. Why would you want to be, you know,
in a bullet train going in the wrong direction. How
does that serve you? I mean unless you just like
sight saying, I mean that might be a point, but
we're not in this for sight saying. We're supposed to
(21:16):
be moving towards God's plan for whatever it is that
He has given you to do. So with that being said,
let's have enough accountability and ask ourselves from time to time,
is now a time to pause? Is now a time
(21:38):
to stop? Is there any realignment that needs to happen?
If so, make it happen. And you're going to find
that who you're really dodged a pothole right there, and
that is a positive thing. So let me tell you
(22:00):
a story. Once I spoke with a leader who had
an incredible vision for their nonprofit. The vision was huge,
I mean, it was potentially rolled to changing. It was
going to change her community instantly, like her neighborhood was
going to be changed. And then if they were able
(22:22):
to scale it up, it would be something that could
easily be adopted in other neighborhoods, in other communities. It
was even something that could be adopted globally. Right. It
was so wonderful, and I was so excited to have
her share this vision with me. She knew that I
would be someone who would be excited, who would be happy,
(22:45):
but also someone that would ask those questions, those hard questions,
not to challenge her authority, but to make sure that
there was no daylight where there shouldn't be daylight. But
somewhere along the way the partnerships that were accepted and
(23:08):
there were certain compromises that they requested of her, and
it started to erode at the values and the vision
of where she started. Before long, it was a successful
organization on paper, but the values, the vision, the thing
(23:29):
that she had originally said that God wanted her to do,
had been shifted, had been changed to become more accommodating
to this partnership. And because of that, it became more
of what that partner was and less of what she was. Well,
what turned it around. They went back to habakuk Ii.
(23:52):
They rewrote the vision, They re centered on their God
given values, and they let go of the things that
didn't align. Now, it wasn't easy, and it was even
quite difficult for a way there, but they lost their funding,
(24:12):
they lost that partnership, and people walked away and that
was really difficult for her to deal with at first.
But the organization that remains today is thriving. They were
able to overcome that little blip because it was never
(24:35):
meant for that partnership to happen in the first place,
not just in numbers, not just in money or in capital,
but in integrity, in testimony, and in peace. Now she
is able to talk about the awesome and amazing things
(24:56):
that her brand, that her girls are able to do,
done and continue to do because she stayed true to
the vision that God had given her. That's what alignment produces, peace, sustainability,
and God's favor. And it's not just about big organizations.
(25:19):
It's about your life. It's about your home, about your
calling and asking yourself today, is my vision aligned with
my values? And if not, what should I do about it?
As we come to a close today, I want you
to take a moment to reflect into your week, write
(25:41):
down your vision, write down your top three values, then
draw aligne and ask yourself. Does this vision reflect these values?
If not, what's one thing that you can do to
realign yourself with your vision? Are your values? Because here's
(26:02):
the truth. Alignment isn't just for organizations. It's for individuals,
it's for families, it's for leaders like you. When vision
and values walk together, the world sees your light. So
today I want for you to take a moment to realign.
(26:26):
Father God, I want to thank you for the vision
of your people. You've placed certain people in the lives
of those that are doing Kingdom business. Help us to
walk it out in our alignment with our values, but
make sure that they honor you. Allow us to hear
(26:48):
only those things that we should and discount the rest.
May everything we build reflect your heart, not just in
our ambition, but in our lives. We thank you in advance. Amen.
Thank you everyone for joining me today for this episode
(27:11):
and for allowing me to share this with you. Make
sure that you too are aligned. All righty, everyone, thank
you so much so much for spending some time with
me here today. You could have been anywhere, and I
thank you for spending it with me. As always, I
hope that I have enlightened, inspired and empowered you again today,
(27:33):
as always made, the Lord continue to shine his face
upon you. May you receive his grace and his mercy
in all that you do. Until next time, everyone remember
that you you are blessed in the Lord. Have a
great day everyone. Bye bye,
