(01:09):
Recording this on Tuesday afternoon, October twenty eighth, two thousand
and twenty five. It is actually the second of four
podcasts I'll be recording today because I am taking off
tomorrow because tomorrow I will be at a concert. I'm
will be seeing one of my favorite bands in the
whole world, Our Fear Factory coming to town in Fort

(01:30):
Lauderdale at the Culture Room on Wednesday, So I have
to record all my stuff for rest of the week
today on Tuesday, but just not so far gone because
I typically a lot of these shows are pre recording
away by day or so, you know, but you know
the show I'll done Wednesday. For Thursday, we're playing on

(01:53):
to the Faut count Anywhere episode this week with Rob
Rob the Genius. Of course we're gonna do that Tonight's
supposed two Monthay night, so all end, which means, as
a result, because I'm craving all these shows in today,
I cannot appear on this week on the Huddler Podcasts
with Big Jim Uh and the Boys this week. Unfortunately,

(02:14):
I'll be back next week most likely. As I said,
like these some of these some of these these shows
cross across each other, and sometimes I just can't do
that show and it happens. So it is what it is.
But I'm you know, I'm exhausted. Last night I watched
the World Series game. I watched the classic game three
nineteen innings, and to be honest, I was probably I
was more invested in that game because of the fact

(02:36):
that I had money on the game. Okay, I had
a parlay which I had a five leg parlay which
the four legs hit early in tonight, I had the
Chiefs to win, Chiefs to cover Pat Mahomes and rushing
yards all hit. I had the over on the run
score in the in this game in half runs which
I got. I got that at six anything. It was
so I was sitting pretty but I can't be. I

(02:58):
could be offered a cash out by by by the
by the app, and I'm like, I'm not gonna do that.
I bet the Dodters will win this game straight up,
and they they're good to win this game. And so
many times in extra innings they had a chance to
close the game out, and so many times Toronto found
the way to to get three outs and get to
the next inning, but Freddie Freeman saved the day. And look,
on a personal level, I'm rooting for Toronto to win

(03:20):
this series. On a personal level, I hate the Dodgers. However,
my wallet don't care about your feelings. Okay, if I
feel that the Dodters are gonna win a game, will
win a series, I'm going to go with my with
the money and follow the money where it goes. And
thankfull for me. My last part, my leg hit last night,
so the Dodters didn't win, so I get I made
money on last night's game. But that's here and then

(03:43):
I'm a little tired, but it's okay. Lots to talk
about today on the show. Of course, we will get
to my week eight outivations, and rather than do top five,
we're just gonna go on. I'm just gonna list off
stuff that I came my mind. I feel like literally
in the top five is not enough anymore. It's too much.
I'm gonna I'm gonna get my observations overall. What else
we have to this week is also too. I'm also

(04:05):
going to react to U possible presidential contenders for twenty
twenty eight on the Democratic side. There's a couple of
names might drop Undea her I want to react to
UH as well to that. But like I said, on
a personal level, things are here happening in my house.
Things are changes that are happening. You know, nothing bad,

(04:26):
but it's a lot of things going on at home
here that are and and that could put Jess the
effect the show in a good way too. Also also
in a way where I may not be on here
as much anymore, but that won't be for a little
while though. But basically, a lot of things happening here
at home. Basically, long story short, my wife is planning
on a going back to school at some point next year,

(04:48):
preferably in January. I went to college and hoping hopefully
get to her career that she wants to do ultimately,
and which I'm very proud of for deciding this. She's
not someone who's necessarily like school. She she didn't go
to school for a while, but but then she's decided
to go to college and tied to drop out because
she just didn't like it, wasn't ready for it. But
now she feels ready to compel to do it. Now

(05:09):
I think she does what she wants to do going forward,
which means now as a result, when this happens, it's
an expense. So now we have to cut back on
expenses down. So her and I been going through our
budget again. You know, I love doing that my budget
and finding things where we cut out. One of the
things we were actually were considering recently was asking her
moving not necessarily moving far from a rat In fact,
we're looking into staying in the same development right now

(05:29):
because we do rent, but we were discussing the idea
of possibly moving to downsizing to a place where it
was a little bit cheaper. We could say hundred dollars
a month, which we saw some places that were a
little bit cheaper, but apparently those are those not available.
They got the abous got back towards wrest laying it
said that some things here and an happen. They said
that we can move, but we was to pay a

(05:50):
transfer fee of one thousand dollars. I'm like, no, no, no, no, no, no,
no no. We have been here eight fucking years. I look,
we actually we're actually helping you guys out by because
by us the links our townhouse. Do you guys you
can actually rented from warning than you're trying to us
now currently. So I don't know why they would not
waive the fee. So we're gonna probably stay here at

(06:10):
least for another year and then assess that situation at
the time comes on. But well, we're going through a
budget and we're talking this this is the things that
we were looking at, we're gonna end up cutting out. Unfortunately,
that's it's gonna hurt a little bit too. Also because
it's some things that we do enjoy that are going
to be born by the wayside for the sake of
the situation. Okay. One of the things that's gonna end

(06:30):
up being, we're looking at our Disney passes for next year. Uh.
We when we have passes, we pay. Uh we pay
about one hundred two dollars a month total between me
and myself, me and my wife and our two kids
a month for our Disney passes. We go there. We
do go there at least four five times a year,
so we do get the value for that. But we

(06:51):
are looking into my cutting that out of there. It's
a couple of other things, personal things. I get massage
a bunch of months because I will the work. I
do get massages. I may cut that out. That's not
that's not all for a month time. I'm freeing up
there too. Else possible. There's a couple of things there,
things on that on that nature going out coming back.
Other things, stream services we're looking at to seem to
cut back. So I'm looking at things. I'm going through

(07:12):
like Doge like I'm like, I'm Elon Muss, I'm going
through the budget. I'm like, we can cut this out
ball are you ready for this? You know, I mean
there's a lot of sacrifices to be made to get
to the ultimate goal. But she wants went to school
I supported, and if we're gonna make it happen to
where we're not, it would make this happen in a
relatively timely fashion and also not going broke. We have

(07:33):
to make those those considerations. So you know, it is
what it is there and you know, so we'll still
happening there. Maybe should start gambling more often, but you know,
gambling the NBA right now not a good thing to
talk about here because right now, as I we broke
the news on the NBA Show last week, you know,
the NBA game scandal has taken over the news in
the world sports, especially in basketball. So here's the latest

(07:55):
on the gambling scandal. Basically, there's the diamonds of over
thirty individuals, including current Miami Heat player Terry Rozier, Troubles
was the head coach Chompcay Billips and former NBA player
assistant coach Damon Jones. Rogier is charged for a conspiracy
commit wire fraud and mondy money laundering, prosecuted the Lens.
He informed associates beforehand that he would remove himself from

(08:17):
a March twenty twenty three game when he was with
the Charlotte Hornets when they supposed injury to allow betters
to profit on prop bets regarding his performance, especially again
the under on his stats. The NBA previously vestca Is
an innocent but the NBA previously investigated this incident, but
ult reportedly did not file violation of the league rules
at the time. Now as a chumps Billis and Damon Jones,

(08:39):
there's a foot scheme involved in that. So Billipson, Jones,
and more than three others are charged in connection with
a scheme to rig illegal highest stakes poota games that
defwudy victims of millions of dollars. The operation allegedly involved
members of organized crime families. Billis is accused of being
a face card a famous famous lawyer used to attract
wealthy gamblers to the private games. Damon Jones is charged

(09:01):
with both sports betting and poker schemes. In the sports
betting case, he's accused of losing non public information such
as the unknounced injury status of prominent Emmy players like
Lebron James, to tip off betters for a profit. Now
where we stand currently right now is that both Rogimpellos
were arrested and have been placed on immedia indefinitely from
their teams by the NBA. The funeral indictments have been

(09:24):
unsealed and the investigation is ongoing. This follows the lifetime
ban of former Raptors player John Day part Porter in
twenty twenty four for similar gambling violations. The NBA has
stated as we is reviewing the Defendan diatments, incorporating with authorities,
emphasizing that the interpreating game is its top priority. I
think Terrorizer is fucked because, I mean, all the tea

(09:45):
leads on this one looks like he's gonna be fucking
this one. I'm less concerned aout Chalky billups if feels
like that one, more feels like more like as I
said on the on the show last week with the
with Greg, that situation feels like more like a guilty
by association situation. He's one attracting high high level athletes
or celebrities to the game itself, but no word if

(10:07):
he actually engage anything illegal again, and his thing is
let's bother some the sense it's still bad, but because
it did not impact a game, I'm less worried about
that situation. That was a separate poker side thing. Obviously
being involved in mafia and that's a bad look and

(10:27):
obviously builds his career probably is over and the NBA
as a coach and whatnot, But I'm not I'm less
bothered by that situation in comparison to the one with
Toy Rogier, who literally impacted games by doing things, you know,
affecting betters. Okay, as someone myself who does gambles to
on the NBA as well, you know, I don't want

(10:48):
to see that. And quite frankly, if you're involved in
shit like that, you gotta be gone. You gotta be gone.
I'm sorry, I have no I have no Simply people,
especially people like Tori Rogier, who actually had it on
one hundred million dollar contract recently some something that hit it.
Massive contract, massive contract, and he's made a lot of
money in just through his career, and you're relegating you

(11:08):
something to do to doing this kind of crap. I
have no sympathy for you. Now. Of course you're innocent,
proven guilty, but I'm telling you the tea leaves on
this do not look good for Terry Roarsier. So we
will keep following this story as this think he's playing out,
all right, that's the NFL. Wee get observations, okay, And
rather than do top five, I'm just gonna go ahead

(11:29):
and and talk about you know what what what stuffs
before this week. But look, here's here's here's a reality situation.
This season is drunk as hell. If you have a
favorite to win the whole thing, good luck, because I
can't figure it out. Like I have a group of favorites.

(11:50):
I have teams I like or teams I trust, like
Chiefs and the Eagles and whatnot. But there are teams
that that it bought in two weeks ago that I
will saw. Then then I got soft on in recent weeks,
and then I'm kind of buying back into the Packers.
There are teams that are starting starting to make a
case for not necessary a super Bowl, but teams like
maybe a playoff team at the Bears, and they they

(12:12):
let me down against the Ravens on this week. This
is fun. Though this is great, it's also tough to
bet on these games because these spreads are slwonky. You
don't know the trust now having said that, I've been
doing pretty good this week on my gambling, I will
I will say last night, as I said on my
my parlay with the World Series in my football, but
you know, you know, it's still in the parody in

(12:36):
college football. The parody in the NFL is fantastic right now.
And it adds to the drunkld you know nature of
this season now. Obviously, as a New York Giants fan,
very sad that you know about the scattbow injury. You know,
you know, discocate his ankle, think it was I'll say
this from now that that injury couple with the Moliite

(12:58):
Neighbors injury from week three a week four, rather that
pretty much saves that Ryan Davill's job, okay, because he
now has a built an excuse now as to why
this team can't win games. Okay, And here's the thing.
The Giants are still competitive enough as is to make
that a conversation and look for the record, I'm just
get fired all because Jackson Dart is still that dude.

(13:20):
He is still showing prom the games the Eagles this week,
showing progress when I guess the Super Bowl champions, you know,
you know, you just win that game. You do this already,
and that game was a lot of closet. Great great
credit for in fact that you can make it argument
that Giants got screwed that that that push push first down,
that should have been a fumble. Okay, the past the
difference called there was ticket attack. That's literally fourteen points

(13:40):
swing right there. Okay, so they got screwed that game.
But I got to shout out to the Eagles fans
and that franchise for a class you know, you know,
you guys know, I hate the Eagles. I can't stand
the Eagles. Probably the worst team I've probably worst thing
for me in sports. I despise rivalry reasons, but I

(14:03):
gotta give him credit, given credit. They were classy and
rather than booing, you know and throwing shit at Skataboo
and whatnot. You know they've been They have a history
for being rude to opposing teams, regardless of the situation.
Michael Irvan, they bowed him when he got hurt. They
threw batter Santa Claus years ago, Eagles fans with classy

(14:24):
game of sant elevation. As you get left the field,
car off the field, you saw a big domb, the security,
the heads of head of security for the Eagles go
to the hospital and bring food for Scataboo. I love
seeing that. So that's the same. But my hatred for
the Eagles has gone down tremendously in the last forty
eight hours because that was very classy. Okay, for the

(14:45):
reputation they've had, they they really really did the right
thing there in social class there also, I'm convinced. Now
the Ravens went in EMC North the two and five,
but guess what the Steels off tune around the four
and three and there's still two games, two two teams
coming up. Ben will suck. They lost their Jets, blue names,
blue games and Jets and costume money in my parlay
from Sunday on that game. Okay, and then uh, the

(15:09):
Browns are Browns. We know what's going on that one.
So Ravens now two and five. Lamars I back yet,
Lamar's be back this Thursday night against the Dolphins, and
I think this will be the surge that the Ravens need.
They're getting healthier to also their defense not for nothing,
are playing a little better now last two weeks. Just
saying let's say that's a. That's let's say that's a
trend going forward. But I'm still convinced that Ravens will
win the AMC North and get into the playoffs. All right,

(15:31):
what I let that by the Bears because to me,
that loss will want the Beers because they could one again,
they could have burned. Ravens were good. But number two,
if you're foreign too and you're trying to prove that
you are a team that should be in the playoff race,
that we should be trusting. This lost. This this lost
didn't help it, Okay, Jonad Taylor is also my front
runner MP in a year that right now, we've seen
different players week to week. I think Donald Taylor is

(15:53):
my is my right now, my lead aboard. And for
the record, I will like to see a non quarterback
win for once. It's been a long time since a
P and Adrian Peterson back in twenty was There's twenty
twelve that happened. It'd be nice to see something different
for once. With that, So jhonna tailor right now is
MVP right now. Also, I told you guys, I have

(16:14):
a bet with a good friend of mine shot to
my boy Mario. We have a heart all a bet
where I said the Cowboys will win nine or more
games this year. Now he's a Cowboys fan and he
disagree with me. So we made a heart all e
bet on that one. Right now, the Cowboys are three
four and one with the loss against the Denver this weekend.
I think I'm gonna lose my bet because as good

(16:35):
as Dak Prescott is this year, oly in a rough
game against Denver, that defense is horrible. You let bo
Nix and the Broncos, a team that has that had
a good opposite game all year long, other than like
a fourth quarter of the Giants do that to you
four or four points. Nah, I'm screwed. I already told
Mario like I'm gonna lose his bet bet. I'm more
confident of that now. And again they left too many

(16:56):
you wins on the table. So the Cowboys or the
Cowboys are the quintessential nine and eight mediocrity, mediocre team
that is so good on offense top two in the league,
but also horrendous on defense, worse in football. So there
is that. We also had a massive firing college world

(17:18):
this weekend. Brian Kelly, LSU coach fired as coach of
LSU following during his fourth season of his ten year contract.
Of course, the reason given by ethnic athletic director Scott
Woodward was that the success at the level LC demand
simply did not materialize. He was dispissed on Sunday following
a disappoining four nine twenty five loss to Texas A

(17:38):
and m L Sorry Night. This loss dropped Elsee's record
to five and three overall and two and three in
SEC to play, virtually eliminating them from the College Football
playoff contention, which was a major expectation. I having thirty
four fourteen record overall nineteen ten SEC play, his team's
consistently fell short of the program's loupetations of competing for

(18:01):
SEC and national titles. L did not qualify for the
Coast Waile Playoff in any the seasons. Now here's the
thing that's really crazy. The financial cost LC for fing
firing Kelly is substantial, with a reported buyout of over
close years guys fifty two million dollars, one of the
largest in collegorotball history. The terms of a separation are

(18:22):
still being negotiated right now. Run Meats coach and assistant
head coach Frank Wilson was named the interim head coach
for the manner of the twenty twenty five season. Not
surprising this happened. I've done maybe the wait to end
of the year to do this. I also said that
if they lost A and M and especially got blown
out A and M on this stage, it was in play.

(18:45):
In fact, I said it's gonna happen, and sure enough
it did happen a lot of money though. Teams getting
patient in COSG football now in the era in IL,
in the era of the costwable playoff that was twelve spots.
Now when there's more opportunity to get into the playoff now.
But you're seeing guys that made the playoff last year
losing your jobs too. James Franklin, Penn State. People forget
not only to make the playoff last year, he was

(19:07):
one game away from getting to the Natty, to get
into the National Talnel Game, and he still lost his
job this year. What does that tell you? Okay, you're
seeing more more schools getting especially and I think SUP
mostly applies to schools that have expectations of winning. And
you can't blame LSU. LSU has had the last three

(19:28):
coaches all win national titles, Nick saban uh Les Miles
and then at Oderon. Okay, so they've they've had a
pattern winning in recent years. Okay, so I can't blame
them now. Is Brian Kelly a good coach, Yes, but
I always felt that was a weird fit by by
with him in an l s U. Okay, And look,

(19:50):
I know not nor name fans. You know, I'm probably happy,
you know, he lost his job and all that, and
I get all that doesn't mean that Brian Kelly is
bad for you guys. You're just mad because Brian Kelly
also screwed. The way he left the school, you know,
was pretty unclassly. I'm pretty a class list rather And
for a record, I agree with you. I do agree
with you on that. You know. I'm about a Brian
Kelly fan. But he's a great coach. Yeah, watch taking

(20:12):
Florist State. Also, Yes, because I think I think the
Noles rule fire might no vollunt in a year. I
think they will fire him. So I want easily to
Brian Kelly, you know, and because I want to be
a winning team. Okay, we haven't want a national talent
eleven years, by the way, best job right now, I
went us to Florida. I still think Flora's a great job,
although things have been kind of weird there lately. But

(20:34):
the else job is great. It's a great job there,
great school, great, great great, great fan base there. Penn
State obviously what they do. I still think Flor's the
best job available, while saying Florest State will have their
job able to Wilson very soon. So but yeah, that
is not a shock there, Brian Kelly getting fired. I
just thought it was, you know, shocking the little year

(20:54):
and then a lot of money again, a lot of
freaking money gotta pay him. So all right, last to
get you out of here. We have contenders. Apparently there's
a rumors that we may have our first two contenders
for the Democratic Party for the twenty twenty election. Here's
the first one apport of reports form VP Kamala Harris

(21:14):
says she may make another run for the White House
by quoting, she says, I am not done. Harris called
told the BBC on Saturday, adding that she could possibly
be president one day. Her strongest hint yet at a
potential third bid. I've lived, she said, quote also too,
I've lived a life, my entire career as a life
of service, and it's in my bones, she said. Harris
lost twenty twenty four election to Donald Trump after the

(21:35):
President Joe Biden dropped down the race just one hundred
and seven days before election day. Now I'm actually reading
her book currently, I don't think she'll run. First off,
if she does run, she's not a nomination. She's not.
She's just not. Sheesus not carest back enough. She's unless
she unless she is so this little townhall she's been

(21:56):
doing since since this little book book run she's doing
since her release. If she speaks like that, more honest
and more truthful and more transparent, Okay, maybe maybe I
can say our art working from that, But ultimately I
think that book. I've said it in the show many
times over that book, I think honestly she burned a

(22:16):
lot of bridges there in the party. She's gonna need
support from the party to even run. And quite frankly,
I think the party is soft on that. I mean, honestly,
it's gonna sound really bad. It maybe a little sexist,
but hear me out here, I don't think the party
wants to put up a female right now. I think
between Hillary losing in twenty sixteen to Trump, and then
Kamla Harrison was a Trump in twenty twenty four. I

(22:37):
think the party might be a little more apprehensive to
putting a female up for a nominee. Good to bad.
I'm not saying the right thing to do, but I
do know how politics works. If they see a trend
and Trent's not is not working, they bucked a trend,
just somebody else. So I don't think she will run.
I don't think. I think she burned the bridges on
that one. Now. Having said that, California Governor Gavin Newsom

(23:02):
said he's open to president to run the Democratic frequent
critics said he has he'll give serious thought to a
White House bid after next year's midterms. He says, quote
I be lying otherwise said, adding that fate will determine
his decision. I think it's very obvious he's wunning president.
I think this is the one that you know is
the obvious front runner for president is him, Gavin Newsom.

(23:26):
I don't care for Mcavenwsom personally. He he comes up
as a slick snake oilsman. Oil snakesman, wouldn't call it.
He comes up a very slick and smarmy car salesman.
I don't like that. But what I do know is
that publicly, Gavin Newsom is probably the only Democrat, or
the one of of note that of has the the

(23:51):
name value willing to take on Trump, willing to take
on Trump publicly with tweets and everything else and get
to his level. So and and and I at this point,
that's what it calls for in this era. I'm not
saying it's right or wrong, and I say that's what
it calls this era. So he there alone gives them
some advantage. Look how many people California. California has the

(24:13):
fourth largest economy in the world. Okay, and some people
say it's it's it's a it's trash. Some folks WI
still love it. I think As has a better chance
of a winning nomination than anybody else at this point,
I would put him as a favorite. I don't see
any other other Democratic nominees that really can steal that
thumber right now. Now. Look, that's probably somebody, maybe a

(24:35):
Wes Moore, maybe somebody else that's in the Democratic ranks
that is not quite committed to doing this this yet
but might have some something to gain out of that.
I just think, no, Kamala, Bernie Sanders is very old. Okay,
he's not gonna run for president again, although his message
is probably still there. That's why this New York race
and the new mayor's race in New York is so

(24:55):
fascinating because I think I'm not saying the race will
dictate where a party goes, but maybe, but the numbers
may may say otherwise. It may say where this party
should go more progressive or more corporate. You know what
is now status quo. And that's been That's been kind
of my criticism for the party even the last years

(25:18):
a couple of years now is that they they or
promise under delivery. They promised this and that, and they
maybe do ten percent things I promise, and this is
why whit of people have left the party right or wrong.
So but I look, I think Kamala won't run, Gavin
will run, And I think right now, if I have to
put my personal rankings of top three Democratic candidates are

(25:39):
now to run the president, who would be the favorite
new Number one for me? Number two be people to
do jig and number three uh Josh pure jasparaoh in
Pennsylvania to governor of Pennsyvania. So that'll be my top

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
