(00:01):
Susan Sullivan, who I follow onTwitter ex what do you wanna call it,
posted a picture of her and DavidSelvey, who played Richard Channing,
and it was some kind of I'mparaphrasing I remember exactly, but something like
as you get older, some thingsmake you smile. So it's something like
that, and I thought, ah, And I was thinking about Richard and

(00:24):
Maggie, and to me inspired choicebecause when the show started, was Chasing
Maggie were the couple. They werethe couple, the good, the good
family couple. He had integrity andshe had integrity, and you know,
she was, you know, theheroines of the show. You know,
of course, you guys watched showsso throughout the years where all stuff went

(00:46):
down, putting her with Richard, who was a little bit unscrupulous, and
you know, he had a conscienceon some level, but he would do
things that were under the lawn.Having her be a conscience of sorts and
putting them together and adding humanity, more humanity to him by having her love

(01:08):
him, but also giving her alittle bit of a layer two by being
with someone like him. And Ihad a friend once and I don't know
how you guys feel about this.Oh, this is the fucking christ after
show on jl JBDIA. I justwent straight into it. But my friend
who said he thought he didn't likeit. He liked the pairing of Richard

(01:32):
Maggie. He thought it was thatold trope of the good girl saving the
bad boy or the h the goodwoman with the damaged man, and why
couldn't she just stay with she?He liked, he really liked chasing Maggie.
He was like, I liked theidea of two good people being together
fighting weather in justice. I said, Okay, I understand that trope.

(01:56):
It's a soap trump, I dounderstand that. Or even I was soaper
just like a a storyline troupe.I get it. But part of you
is also like, but we kindof on soaps and shows, two nice
people equal boring a lot of times. So how do you make it fresh?

(02:17):
You're a couple of shows up rightnow? Uh, I don't.
I don't. I hate to bringin a daytime soap, but for example,
on General Hospital, there is acouple of couplings where they're just they're
both so sweet and kind of likenot really combative that it's like they're boring.

(02:38):
And I don't mean you need tobe total opposites, cause also there
was the extreme of the opposite totract thing too. But I just felt
like I didn't feel like rich andMaggie were complete opposites. I mean,
no one's perfect, no one isis infallible. You know, they're uns
and I'd like when a character isthree dimensional. And mac he wasn't perfect

(03:01):
by any means, but I knowshe was considered one of the good girls,
so to speak, on the show. She wasn't she wasn't Melissa,
she wasn't Angeli, or she wasone of the so she was a good
girl. And Richard was considered oneof the bad men, but he wasn't
fully a villain either. So Ikind of feel like there's two people who

(03:23):
were kind of in the middle somewherethat found a way to get together,
and you know, and it worked. He said, I liked it,
and apparently she's self and liked it, so she's talking about she's posted a
picture of it again, and Ilike that also. I liked when,
of course she went on to Castleand you know, Darring Grace, she

(03:45):
went to other things. I likethat some of these actresses and actors don't
forget their self roots. There's soapygoodness. I like when they actually,
you know, remind us that theyknow they remember too as soap fans as
we miss these shows, you knowI'm doing. I'm doing these after shows

(04:05):
and you miss these shows, andI'm seeing how people are really enjoying these
after shows that we do talking aboutthese defunct shows that are not on the
air anymore. It's nice to knowthat the actors kind of feel the same
way too. It's part of theirtheir legacy. Also, I mean,

(04:26):
of course I did. However,so how mush we hate how she and
her her show, how To howTo Show killed her off. We hate
that whole thing. It's nice toknow that she actually has some fond feelings.
Now. I don't know how farthe extent that goes, And I
know, yes, things happen, like any employment, things happen and go
down. So some folks that showthey work trying to bad taste in their

(04:50):
mouth do it. But I likewhen others are like, you know,
I know the fans like myself willenjoy the post. And I reminisced with
you because I saw a bunch ofcomments on there. Let's see if I
go, let me go on Xright now, I want to stay talking
to you guys. We can goon next to the podcast. This is

(05:12):
recorded live. Let's see what's goingon X. Okay, And it was
season Sullivan and she and she postsa lot. She's in Sullivan. Don't
can find it? Like literally,I like the picture. I'm like,

(05:35):
I went the real suasan solid thereshe is. No, that's not her.
Oh it is her? Okay, right? Oh here? So she
wrote at a certain age, yourmemories will bring you great delight and satisfaction.
That's what she said. And asa as a fun Crest fans logo,

(05:57):
which of them? And I lookat the comments, people are still
say the way Maggie dies still hauntsme. I love Richard Maggie, Oh,
Wolberson says, one of the bestTV couples ever. Loved seeing the
both of them in both of Youin love letters in West Virginia and again

(06:19):
the Payley Center. Oh that's sofunny, and he did that. Chase
was way too righteous and judgmental.I loved Maggie and Richard Channing. Richard
was unscrupulous, but he owned it. Maggie brought out his softer savages relevation

(06:40):
revelation. I see, I toldyou I agree with that. That's something
that I totally agree with. Youwere on Johnny Carson last night along with
George Carlin and Shrylee Ralph. Veryenjoyable. Yep, Shelly Raff was on
there. I get her on hereand I mentioned when she was on the
end credib Hulk. She's around fora while. Let's see David Selby was

(07:08):
the perfect guy for the girl forall the girls. That is hilarious.
Uh, and he be playing DavidSelby's people were close to that picture,
and they say David Selby does notinteract directly with fans via social media,
so his little side note if youget anything claiming to be from him reported
and his birthday was February fifth. You just had a birthday. It's my

(07:30):
birthday, David Selby. I didnot know that. Okay, did not
know that. Wow. And Davidis gonna be on h on the update,
the updated, they're updating his siteand everything. How funny. I'm

(07:51):
sorry, I can't see anything more. I stopped watching after they killed your
character, Bashi, and let's seeanything else. Uh, that's good that's
good. Somebody goes, somebody wrotelove that show came out on after Dallas,
right, yeah, yes, itcame out after Dallas. That's hilarious.

(08:16):
So, like I said, Ithought I thought that there their characters
were great or greatly put but theyputting them together was good and that was
good. So I just thought thatthat was you know, so yes,

(08:50):
but anyway, so anyway, Iwant to make such about that. Yeah,
So it's kind of cool. It'scool when actors remember the time when
its sop with such fondness, youwould know, you know, folks,
I'm always here for the t too. So they want to spill something out,
I'm gonna try to gain uson Salvanon my show. I'm gonna try.
I'm gonna try, and we'll seewhat happens. But anyway, this

(09:16):
is a Finn christ After show andwe're on all social media platforms, we're
on all the audio audio platforms.Listen to us, talk to you next time.
