Hey, hey, don't listen to play Flurry Sports will save
your day joke Swiss Sports Inside, Zack and Shake say

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Fuck you?

Speaker 3 (00:23):
What is up? Welcome back to the Flurry Sports Podcast.
Happy Memorial Day. If you're watching live or on the
day of, and if you're not, what are you doing?
We've been telling you all season long. Flurry Sports YouTube channel,
Flurry Sports Twitter or fantasy Flurry Twitter rather Flurry Sports
Facebook TikTok go and watch us live Monday night, every
single Monday night we are live. You can watch it

(00:44):
after the fact, of course, of course that's fine, that's allowed.
But if you are watching us live, then you can
jump in the chat like Randy, like Luke has done.
I mean, Luke completely derailed a show and left me
in a spiraling you know, dread not knowing where Dublin,
Wisconsin is. That happened a couple of weeks ago. And

(01:05):
you two could completely derail us and leave us with
more anxiety than what we started with. That could be
your role on the show if you tune in life
but after the fact, definitely leave comments, subscribe, like do
all of that beautiful stuff. But tonight we're gonna be
building our flag football teams. I keep saying the NFL

(01:27):
flake football teams. Maybe that's a little maybe that's a
little conceited, Maybe it's a little bit too proud. But
what are we doing? What are we doing if we NFL, like,
are we saying, Oh, the flag football guys are gonna
be the ones running our team. I am not letting

(01:47):
this turn into our three on three basketball. No, no,
I don't want Robbie Hubble as our quarterback.

Speaker 4 (01:55):
And by the way, that's thank you for bringing that up, Sack,
because this isn't first time argument. I'm mad more so
at the coverage it's getting than the people. Listen, the
flag football guys who got us to this point that
are like, you have a right. It's a bad right,
but you have a right to be like, Hey, I
played this all year round. I've done it for years.

(02:17):
This never was in the Olympics nowadays, I'm not going
to get to play. I understand that, and I understand
it because it's exactly what happens with any other Olympic
team the US. Does you know who also doesn't play
all year round? Steph Curry guse he gets to go
to the Olympics him.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
It is what it is. I'm trying to bring up
the roster for the flag football team because it's pretty funny.
There's one guy in particular, not to shame him. I
can't find her right now, but yeah, are you trying
to tell Lamar Jackson that he's not gonna play quarterback?
Are you gonna? Are you gonna tell Justin Jefferson legitimately
I actually can run a better route, catch the ball,

(02:54):
do whatever. Are you gonna tell Tyry Kill anything? Because
he has nothing to lose it. He is going to
do anything, thing and everything. Maybe I'll look up the
rosters later. I can't bring it up right now, but
we are going to be building our own flag football
roster consisting of NFL guys, because I assume that is
what most likely is going to happen. I will say

(03:16):
either today or yesterday, and we'll get into this more later.
Roger Goodell came out because they asked him, like, so,
who's voting on the teams? You know, we know the
NFL is going to be in it, now, what's going
to happen? And I guess he said, the NFL supposedly
has no say, and who's creating these it's actually USA

(03:38):
Football and USA Football runs the flag football, so there
could be some bullshit happening here. But I think they
get to send Goodell said, they get to send like
two or like some sort of number of representatives to vote,
like to be on the panel. And you know what,
the NFL is going to grease the real a little bit.

(04:00):
The NFL is gonna do what the NFL does. It's
not necessarily three on three basketball because three on three
Basketball said, hey, our current players can't play, which is stupid.
They also said that the three on three league that
we created can also not play, which is also stupid.
The NFL is going to send its stars, and it's
on our soil, thank you very much. It's in the

(04:22):
United States. We need to win gold. Anything less than
that dominating gold is embarrassing, completely embarrassing.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
I think now that the NFL is given the stamp
of approval we are, I think there'll be a push
for everyone to participate.

Speaker 3 (04:40):
I mean, it seems one of the things I have
seen people a little bit like skeptical or critical of. Like,
first off, people are pointing to the Pro Bowl flag football,
and I don't think you can do that. No Everyone's like,
they're not even trying. They did not try. You were
completely correct, they did not try there.

Speaker 4 (04:56):
But they will hear.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
It's the Olympics. You're defending your country. It's maybe I'm
a little more patriotic than some of these people, but
I'd like to think that I'm not. I'd like to
think that everybody wants to win a gold for the country.
In front of the country. It's going to be people trying.
We've seen what happens in the NBA though, like we've
seen them go crazy.

Speaker 4 (05:21):
Well because everyone always says that patriotism for sure. But
and this isn't a knock on you. This is we're
dealing with some crazy eight people here. Because athletes always
hard when you get to that level. I'll tell you
what you're not. You're not as competitive as these people.
That's what happens when you get to the Olympics. Like
the basketball players. Yeah, it's like all of a sudden,
Lebron's got a serbian trash talk and everybody's like, Okay,

(05:42):
I'm about to rip you in half. I'm Lebron James
and I don't get to play scrubs too often.

Speaker 3 (05:48):
Okay, I got the roster here. While we're talking good
multitasking by me, their website is completely screwed up. So
first off, head coach Jorge gotta change that. If it's
the USA team. Not not to say too much, but
we need Bill Belichick coach of this team. We need
John mcveay coaching this team. We need something like that. Okay,
we need to have a little fun John Gruden, Are

(06:09):
you kidding me? Get Gruden in there. It should be Gruden.
This should be his baby.

Speaker 4 (06:15):
I actually think I have a lock for who the
coach is. By the way, I think they're gonna go.
I think they're gonna go to coach k Formatt. I
think this has Nick Saban written all over it.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
And by the way, I do love that. I do
love saving.

Speaker 4 (06:29):
Get it in there someone who's like his full time thing.
He'll hate this. I said that out loud, and then
I was like, wait, it's play football. Maybe not, but
Pegano would love it. I don't know if he's reached
that status, but he'd be good. Get Bill Cower on it,
that'd be fun.

Speaker 3 (06:45):
Coward would be so fun. Coward be super fun. I
think some former players could really have a good time
with it. As well potentially. Yeah, I mean, shit, you
know what they got. They have a couple of seasons
under their belt. Let the Mannings do it. They did
it in the Pro Bowl, you know the game.

Speaker 4 (07:03):
Otherwise, let Andy Reid do it. I mean he would
just demolish folks and he'd have a great time.

Speaker 3 (07:10):
Yeah, I mean, assemble that old Packers coaching staff with
Druid and Andy Reid and Mike Holmgrin in there around.

Speaker 4 (07:16):
I was getting Mike hom Grin out of retirement. Let's
do it.

Speaker 3 (07:20):
Yeah, hell yeah. So there's one guy, this guy right
here who Darryl Ducett. I'm not sure if you have
any run ins with du sets shake, but you might
be a little too young. I have do set stink
okay speaking see you Colfax two sets.

Speaker 4 (07:36):
They I do know who you're talking about.

Speaker 3 (07:38):
Yeah yeah, okay, fuck them. But this is the guy,
this is the quarterback, this is the outspoken one, before
any voting, before anything happened. We're talking like months and
months and months ago. He just wants saying, I'm I'm
insulted that NFL players can even think that they can
play our sport. First off, dumb. He then said that
he was better than Patrick mahomes dumb. And then now

(08:00):
he's throwing a little hissy fit that you know, oh
they're gonna come take our jobs and blah blah blah
blah blah. You know what, if you have that kind
of whining personality, you're off the team. Like, he doesn't
even get a tryout. In my opinion, you got to
earn it. If you don't even want to earn it,
you don't get to play for America at all at all.
Cat No, ma.

Speaker 4 (08:21):
Also, it's so dumb. It's so dumb.

Speaker 3 (08:24):
Like I will say, you know what, I was expecting
something like a lot of just like, Okay, these guys
are scrubs, and I think they are the majority scrubs.
This guy's a loser, but you know, okay, okay, maybe
they can compete. Maybe they compete. You're telling me this
guy is on the team, dude, Noah Bickley not the sham,

(08:45):
but brother Tyreek Hill's gonna cook him. Like this is stupid.

Speaker 4 (08:50):
There are folks on this team who couldn't play tackle
football and that is why they're here.

Speaker 3 (08:56):
Yeah. Yeah, they're all like six foot they're all well,
they're all too small for normal positions. Not fast enough
for normal positions in the league. And then I don't
know what Noah Bickley's doing. But Noah Bickley, he's the
wide receiver or center, so that means he is snapping
the ball. We'll get into the rules later. And either
he's going to run a route or actually no, he

(09:17):
can't even block, so he can maybe put himself in
the way of someone. But if we have like Miles
Garrett rushing this guy, or if we have God forbid
Ray Lewis comes out of retirement to cover him over
the middle, or James Harrison he's getting his head taken off.
We don't care about rules, brother, we will take you out.
We will set the tone. And that's one rule. That's

(09:39):
one thing I do want to clarify with USA Football.
I want to know how the rules work. Can we
get flags? Can if someone gets thrown out, can we
just replace them? Because I would like some people on
our team to set the tone. I want a sponge
sportsman like first play every.

Speaker 4 (09:56):
Saron Donald, why is he on the field? Don't worry
not very long.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
You know how many countries have never heard the saying
keep your head on a swivel and they're gonna learn
in Los Angeles twenty twenty eight. That's gonna happen.

Speaker 4 (10:11):
I do wonder. I'm interested what's gonna happen with Like
New Zealand should just play rugby, right, just see how
strict they're calling it.

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Another butt respect for them by the way, they're fine.
I just do want these like the Germans coming in
thinking they can participate because they had Jorn Werner in
the NFL. Like brother, you got no shot. I don't
get Norwegians in there. English, England's game cooked, England's game cook.

Speaker 4 (10:42):
It's gonna be us, New Zealand and Canada hanging is
gonna be fine? Yeah, yeah, and then yeah. I can't
wait for the random teams where it's like Jordan Mailotti
is playing for somebody like out of nowhere. It's like
ys he playing for Australia.

Speaker 3 (11:00):
I have one pick that is purely strategic because I
don't want him playing for another country. There's a player
from our uh in the NFL, good player born in Greece,
and we need to just take him so he's not
playing there. Because if Greece gets this player, what's to
stop them from saying, hey, you know what Yoh, honest,

(11:21):
you're fine, Tanasas he can hit somebody. He can play
all the antetokoupos. They're just gonna play for Greece. That's
not fair. He can't have that.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Well, you just made me think of I have to
do a quick Google search and see if there's anyone
of note right now. But in the World Baseball Classic,
Israel put together quite the team because they were just
claiming folks who are Jewish. So it's like, oh, really,
random folks like Jock Peterson's Like, I wasn't gonna make
the USA team and I had a bar Mitzba, so'll
you know why not?

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I mean, I would assume there's some pretty high profile
Jewish NFL players. I would assume, or at.

Speaker 4 (11:58):
Least well the first one that comes up, AJ Dillon.

Speaker 3 (12:04):
Oh my, please please take AJ Dillon.

Speaker 4 (12:08):
Oh hold on, here we go. This is credit to
the Jewish Virtual Library dot org, so hopefully this is
a correct site. But Greg Kimberilla, okay, I want to
get some current ones. I might actually back up because
the list I sound was a little bit better. Julian
Edelman could come out of retirement and is listed on here. Again.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
This is he's interesting. Former quarterback turned wide receiver. He
could be a fan of flag football.

Speaker 4 (12:40):
He should, he should do it, for sure. That would
be fun. Other current guys Jake Kurhan, Michael Dunn, Nate
Ebner Uh already mentioned Greg Joseph That is fun. Trying
to see any big names on here. Not really. I

(13:00):
think Edelman's the biggest name on the list.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
I just asked groc so groc Is also.

Speaker 4 (13:07):
Compoth Edelmans instead his dad Brad e one sure, eighties.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
Anthony Firkser, Okay, good for him, Good for him, he's
a blocker. Okay, Yeah, I guess not a not a
large Jewish population in the NFL. He's not public. Maybe
they're hiding it. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (13:26):
I'm not gonna lie. I was like, how come I
can't find fran Tarkton's name? Maybe he's not Jewish. I
just kind of thought he had, you know, yeah, Josh Rosen,
Oh oh really it's listed anyway.

Speaker 3 (13:40):
I mean, there's a lot of time between now and
twenty twenty eight. All they had to do is convert, right,
It's so true.

Speaker 4 (13:49):
I would assume one of the Boses has got it.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
That's a Joey Boson thing, when did Khalil mack.

Speaker 4 (14:00):
It up?

Speaker 1 (14:02):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Kelsey's over there, that's crazy.

Speaker 4 (14:05):
Yeah, Jason, I know, so you teas an attack, but
we kind of got a fun game today. I wanted
to clarify we I think we could go head ahead
on this. Are we gonna draft back and forth make
two teams?

Speaker 3 (14:18):
We should do that? Yeah? Absolutely, Then we got to
play a head to head. I think it's only fair
we are not taking not that either of us would
because we're not stupid. We're not gonna be taking uh
players from the USA football team. They can they can
be the third team to compete against.

Speaker 4 (14:34):
US NFL players. Only oh before we switch off the
like discourse around it. I don't know why I said
discourse that way, but I yeah, I do think it's
worth noting. Like, I also think this could be the
only Olympics.

Speaker 3 (14:49):
This is him. So yeah, they're the chance the NFL.
I will say. The thing that has going for it
is that the NFL is expanding into other countries anyway,
So there's already more American football, Like the groundworks kind
of laid. So I think there's a decent chance it.
Like I think that has a better chance than Rugby
to true blow up and take less people.

Speaker 4 (15:11):
I hope. So I think if it didn't stay, it
would be more so like a, well, the USA is
going to win this every time, like petty kind of thing.
So you know, hater what But I I just say
that because I think there will be a lot of involvement,
because I don't think you'll see holdouts because this could
be it. So some guys in their prime will be like,

(15:32):
this might be my only chance to be in the Olympics,
whereas in the NBA sometimes you see some of the
studs be like, ah, maybe later.

Speaker 3 (15:40):
Well, NFL in particular, we know, like the shelf life
of these players are so small anyway as well, So
unless you're a quarterback, Like if you're a running back,
this is your chance to go. Like if if you
hit twenty five in your in the NFL, you're not
getting a contract, Like you're not going to be on
this team.

Speaker 4 (15:57):
Well, especially when we get into some of these players,
like it's so like what have you done for me
lately that I'm like, you know, some of the names
on my list, I'm like, I think they would take
you on the team, and I don't think they would
have last season, so it just to I'll be interested,
you know, and we'll.

Speaker 3 (16:12):
Talk about it more. We can. Let's lay this now
and then I'm going to get into like how the
flake football is going to work, just so people know
that as well. So Olympics are in twenty twenty eight.
Are we thinking the team in twenty twenty eight, because
obviously that changes. We're not going to draft Aaron Rodgers
right or we could, but we're thinking of him in
twenty twenty eight.

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I think, what do you want to do? What's your
opinion on that?

Speaker 3 (16:40):
I mean, I think we have one foot in, one
foot out, you know, we're doing the hokey pokey or
shaking it all about. I think I think, like, yes,
we have to think about they're going to be three
years older, but we're not going to assume like, oh,
ex person who is a junior in college is going
to be on the team. We're not and do that shit.

Speaker 4 (17:01):
No, okay, great, that's what I What I didn't want
this to become is like which one of us takes
Archie Manning, Like I don't. I don't got that in
me today. But I or, like, honestly, what I was
thinking is like, can we agree that like running backs
are a crap shoot?

Speaker 3 (17:17):
And yeah, you know, like I.

Speaker 4 (17:20):
I think we could agree, like, depending on some of
the running backs we pick, let's just argue that they'll
still be healthy enough and good enough to do flight
football at that point if we want to.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
Unless we're taking like Derrick Henry or even Saquon I
think is kind of a toss up.

Speaker 4 (17:37):
Well, I was gonna say, I'll be interested where we
go running back wise, because I think, you know, I'll
just say I wasn't thinking Henry because he's so fucking big.

Speaker 3 (17:46):
You know, yeah, not not great for this style of football.

Speaker 4 (17:50):
Yeah, so I think some of the guys we take
are maybe more likely to still be healthy anyway.

Speaker 3 (17:55):
So yeah, I think so too. Let's get into, yeah,
how flag football works, just so we're all caught up. Okay,
So rules of flag football. It's going to be a
ten person squad, and it's five players on each side
of the field, so five offense, five defense, five on five.
And so if it's a ten person squad, we're pretty

(18:17):
much saying there's gonna be five offensive, five defensive, and
they can't really play both sides. I think they do
a little bit, but for the most part they're pretty
much just offensive players, just defensive players, and it's going
to be two twenty minute halfs. Is how it's done.
The field is a seventy yard field. It's an actual
fifty yard field, ten yard end zones twenty five yards across,

(18:39):
so it's about half the size of a normal NFL field.
There's no kickoffs, there's no kicking, there's no punting, there's
nothing like that. You have four downs to go halfway
and then once you cross the halfway part, you get
four more downs to score a touchdown. Once you were
inside the five yard line, you cannot run the football.
That has to be a pass, and the quarterback can't

(19:02):
run it as well. If you're rushing the quarterback, it's
like seven seconds or something like that. I don't think
they have it here. But in terms of the positions,
so there's going to be a quarterback, there's going to
be a center slash receiver, so everyone's eligible to catch
the ball. There's no blocking is allowed, by the way,

(19:24):
stupid don't love that. So you can't even block on
a running play. If the ball passes you, you have to stop.
You have to stop running like the ball just has
to go, don't love that is what it is. But
so there's a quarterback person who snaps the ball as
a receiver. Everybody else is a receiver. You can hand
it off and run it though, so you can switch
up your formations a little bit. From what I can tell,

(19:47):
there's no limit to what you can do with your formations. Then,
on defense, there's one designated rusher. They'll put their hand
up and they have seven seconds and then they can
go after the quarterback. There are two they call them DB's.
They're essentially two corners on the outside, and then two safeties.
The corners are looking at run first and playing the

(20:08):
short routes. The safeties are looking at pass first and
pretty much just playing the pass. Does all that make
sense in terms of what how they play? I guess
like football, Can you hit.

Speaker 4 (20:20):
Me with the defensive positions one more time?

Speaker 3 (20:22):
Yes? So there's one rusher, yeah, and then there's two
we'll just call them corners, And so all the corners
are doing they're like outside corners is what you can
think of. They're playing short routes, they're playing man defense,
and they're playing the run. Safeties are more zone more

(20:45):
playing the pass, reading the quarterbacks, making sure no one
gets past them. Really like more like free safeties back there. Yeah, gotcha?

Speaker 4 (20:55):
Good?

Speaker 3 (20:55):
Okay, all good of What the ruling that just happened.
What the vote past was? The NFL is allowed to
put players in there. However, you cannot have more than
one player from an NFL team on the team. So
if Lamar Jackson is named to the flag football team,
then Derrick Henry could not be on the team as well.

(21:16):
So that's what it is.

Speaker 4 (21:18):
And I think as we go head to head today,
I think if one of us takes a team, there's
thirty two teams. I think if you take a Packer,
I'm out on Packers too.

Speaker 3 (21:27):
Okay, Okay, I like that. I'm fine with that. I'll
let you go first. We'll do snakes. So you go
one who you go to?

Speaker 4 (21:35):
Great? Okay? I where do I want to go? Quarterback
just feels so boring, But I I do think there's
a right choice, so I'll just take the quarterback choice.
But I have two quarterbacks I love. I'm gonna take
the right choice and it will look good on the graphic.

(21:57):
I think Lamar Jackson, even in twenty twenty eight will
be the correct choice there. I won't say who option
B would be for me, just in case you go
there for quarterback, but you have the maneuverability. He's got
as strong an arm as anybody. I think even if
his speed drops, I think the part that will be

(22:19):
crazy at that point is like his lateral quickness will
still be probably the best at that point. So for
all the things he can do and just how unstoppable
he will be with one person rushing him, I think, yeah,
I want to start there.

Speaker 3 (22:38):
That's perfectly fair. It does block me from the person
who I was saying earlier that I think USA football
should take for defensive purposes, Like I don't want him
playing anywhere else. No, Kyle Hamilton, Oh, he was born
in Greece. I don't want him on Greece. Him Jannis

(22:58):
d Nassas. I don't want that. I want no part
of that.

Speaker 4 (23:02):
And it's gonna be all the canoos and yeah.

Speaker 3 (23:06):
Kyle Hamilton, fuck that. I don't want that.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
That is funny, well, and that will probably be what happens,
because if it's one per I think it would be
really unlikely Lamar doesn't go.

Speaker 3 (23:16):
I know, I know, And why wouldn't he play?

Speaker 4 (23:20):
Yeah, I know, unless only injury or I guess if
he gets blocked out a QB. But he should. Really,
we'll see. It's a more interesting question which quarterbacks they'll take.
But yeah, he's obvious, so we'll see. So who's gonna

(23:40):
be your one pick?

Speaker 3 (23:43):
I got two? We're going snaked. Oh I don't.

Speaker 4 (23:46):
I don't need to. Here's the thing, So it's you
don't need a QB.

Speaker 3 (23:49):
Now I don't, But if you take the team on
that they play for, then I also can't. We've got
a lot of strategy going on here.

Speaker 4 (23:56):
That's right.

Speaker 3 (23:57):
We stumbled upon something great. Okay, So I I'm gonna
go with my first wide receiver pick, and that's gonna
be Justin Jefferson. I mean he's okay, he's the best
in the game, and he's young at the time of
the Olympics. I think he might be what like twenty eight,
Like he's well in his prime at that time.

Speaker 4 (24:16):
I have to look at people's ages.

Speaker 3 (24:18):
Okay, So I'm building around Justin Jefferson. Hmmm. I think
I'm I'm gonna go one on each side of the ball.
So on defense, I'm just gonna take the best corner
in the game. Like, if I want someone to lock

(24:39):
him lockdown on the outside, I'm gonna go with Pat Sertan.
I think he's insane, also young.

Speaker 4 (24:45):
And I think a lock. I was gonna say probably,
I would say the defensive lock. I agree with you.
I'm like, oh, you need uh Like the Odds is
not one of the corners on the team.

Speaker 3 (24:55):
I feel like, especially if Saban's coaching, he's concert Dan yea.

Speaker 4 (25:01):
True, which, by the way, doesn't that feel like it's
gonna be?

Speaker 3 (25:04):
It does feel that way with us with US Indiana
Jones hat.

Speaker 4 (25:09):
Absolutely run run in the wing, t screeds like football.

Speaker 3 (25:14):
I absolutely love that. So now the Vikings and the Broncos,
not that they have a ton of choices, but they
are off the board.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Yeah, and I think that's a pretty good I will
say of those folks that I was thinking it blocks
Sam Laporta, it does not. Oh where's he now?

Speaker 3 (25:36):
Where did he go? He's Detroit. I'm not sure who
you're thinking of. You're thinking of?

Speaker 4 (25:40):
T J.

Speaker 3 (25:40):
Hawkinson? Oh, t J Hawkinson?

Speaker 4 (25:42):
Sorry Sam Laporta's first iteration, of course, yes, yeah, absolutely,
sorry forgot Yeah, he went to Minnesota and then was
slightly worse. Yeah, Saporta is just better now. Yeah, but
by the mass Samlaporta will be a Viking by the
time the Olympic. Skidier, so still blocked in my brain,

(26:04):
I'm gonna go defense next because I think pass rusher.
I'm torn on this because now I'm thinking strategic and
I don't think there's another player on this team to take.
I also don't think this is front of brain pick
for pass rush. But my understanding, as we've talked about,

(26:26):
is a pass rusher it's not blocked. So really what
you need is someone stupid fast to just go get
them chase him. So it's not just pure speed, but like,
who do you not want chasing you? So I'm not
picking a defensive lineman. I'm picking jack of all trades
Trayvon Diggs.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
Okay, that's a good one.

Speaker 4 (26:48):
Yeah, I think Cowboys pick is good. He'll be twenty
nine by the time of the Olympics, so still plenty young,
and I think, uh, yeah, he's like the one guy
that I'm probably the fastest option who's just gonna go.
I'm not worried about a running a quarterback running around
on Diggs like it's like you better get rid of it.

Speaker 3 (27:09):
Yeah, see my mind, you got one more pick after this,
But yeah, thank you for doing that. Because everyone else's
doing these is like all we got Miles Garrett. Like
I'm talking like NFL dot Com is doing this. I'm
talking to ESPN. I'm like, you guys don't get it.
You guys do not understand.

Speaker 4 (27:29):
I know, well, so fast, they're not.

Speaker 3 (27:32):
Running into anybody. They have no defensive moves.

Speaker 4 (27:35):
Not to take your pick away from you. But I
was like, I have to take him because otherwise I'm
gonna take like kway Walker and look like a joke.
But it's like that's the kind of guy that I
think will be good at it. But no, you're one
hundred percent right, I will say, if you're gonna pick someone,
Miles Garrett's not bad of the of the DNS because
he's still has one of the fastest like sprint speeds

(27:59):
in the league.

Speaker 3 (28:00):
By the way, Kyle Hamilton was my pick for that.

Speaker 4 (28:03):
Oh yeah, that'd be a great pick. So blocked a
little bit there, But Cowboys, I don't think cowboys block
is a big deal for you. But no, no, due's
fawn for you. But sucks the dudes is loose. My
second one, I'm gonna go wide receiver, and I'm I'm

(28:23):
risking it a little here because I think the most
obvious pick I've seen on every list I looked at
today for this, I'm not taking. I'm taking someone slightly younger.
And if I get that other guy, I get that
other guy. But I'm taking the dude who statistically is
the fastest person in the NFL, one of the biggest
dudes in the NFL. Who the fuck is covering DK

(28:45):
Metcalf and flag football?

Speaker 3 (28:47):
Yeah, Like, I'm not a huge DK guy, but if
he's on our team, good luck.

Speaker 4 (28:54):
He is built, for somehow more built for flag football
than he is for regular football.

Speaker 3 (29:00):
Yes, they're not going to out jump them. They're not
going to run with him. Like I feel bad for
the little kid from Mexico who's lining up trying to
jam DK Metcalf.

Speaker 4 (29:10):
Correct and they won't have him run any routes besides goes.

Speaker 3 (29:14):
No, Why would they no?

Speaker 4 (29:16):
Like, So it's like, not every wide receiver on the
team when there's four essentially you know, flex or wide
receiver options outside the QB, you don't need them all
to be quick slock guys, So I think DK. Yeah,
looking at the fact that DK is like, statistically the
fastest dude in the league is also so scary. So yeah,

(29:38):
I'm gonna go DK Metcalf and by the time, oh,
got to remember what team he's on, So that blocks
Pittsburgh Steelers. Yeah, yep, so no, that's somewhat strategic. No, TJ,
not that I think you're going that way, but okay.

Speaker 3 (29:55):
No minca. No, they got Casey Hayward.

Speaker 4 (30:00):
Casey dude, get Casey Hayward on the team. But he'll
only be thirty. I was a little like, how old DK,
But he'll be thirty and twenty twenty eight, So that's fine. Thirty,
very much help. But Lamar Jackson running around in the pocket,
just getting to choose when he throws it to DK Metcalf.
Yeah one times. Yeah, so they'll hate each other by
that point. Didn't think about that far. But for sure,

(30:23):
the vibes on my team aren't great. But don't worry.
I've got I've got Traypon Diggs there to suit them over.
So that'll be good.

Speaker 3 (30:30):
Bingo bingoing. You know, Stefan's gonna be lurking around too.

Speaker 4 (30:34):
No, whether I'm also instituting a one digs limit. Okay,
there you go, all right, you get two picks. Now,
this will bring you to four. Yeah, because so far.

Speaker 3 (30:46):
Yeah, okay, okay, I'm going to take my center slash receiver.
And so for this position, you're thinking about someone who
reliable enough to snap the ball. Let's not overthink that.
This is alignment personality alignment thing to think. But you
know what, nothing happens until the ball gets to the quarterback,
so we can't mess that up. But then it needs

(31:08):
to be someone used to running routes out of the
backfield can get open quickly. So I'm thinking running back
for that, and I'm gonna go Jamir Gibbs.

Speaker 4 (31:19):
Oh shoot, nice good pick.

Speaker 3 (31:21):
And he's super young, he's super fast. I like him
a lot. I was deciding between two running backs there,
but then that blocks Detroit, so I know you got
a lot of Monross Saint Brown Love cannot choose him.

Speaker 4 (31:34):
Piney Sewell was entering my brain in a lot of spots,
So that's good.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
It breaks my heart that there's no blocking in this game,
because I might make Penae the mascot like.

Speaker 4 (31:46):
He needs to be on the team. Yeah, absolutely, he
has to be. We're not gonna have an us A
team without Frank Reig. Now, I mean the whole the
whole crew should be there. If it's not suping coach,
if it's not saving coaching, we need Dan Campbell.

Speaker 3 (32:04):
The whole ten. She would just having the time of
his life crying over every game. True, we neat it. Okay,
one more pick. I feel like a should go receiver
just so I don't want I have two receivers that
I feel super good about I will go with. I mean,

(32:32):
I gotta do it. I'm just gonna take Jamar Chase
so that that takes the angles off the board. Okay,
So okay, So my team so far is Jamiir Gibbs,
Justin Jefferson, Jamar Chase, pats or Tan So far, you
got Lamar Jackson, DK Metcalf, Trevon Diggs. You got two
picks now though, Yeah?

Speaker 4 (32:53):
Okay? In flag football? Do you think they are gonna
do too many running plays at all?

Speaker 3 (32:58):
That? I don't truly know. I think they're gonna do some,
but it almost has to be not traditional running plays maybe,
like I don't know if it's gonna be like, you know,
catch a snap turned around handed. I don't know if
that's gonna be the case. It might be more so
like technically running plays where you throw up backwards. It
might be that.

Speaker 4 (33:19):
Yeah, okay, I I'm not gonna overthink my center choice.
I hate that you took Jamior Gibbs. I think that's
if you're if you're gonna take a running back type,
that's the right choice. So that's great. I think this
guy's gonna be on the team, so I feel good
about picking him. Do I really want to take another

(33:43):
offensive guy? Yeah? I got digs and then I'll take
another defensive one next. So far, I'm at Trevon Diggs,
DK Metcalf, Lamar Jackson. I'm gonna take my center role here. Uh,
I'm not because as you no I am, No I am,
I've changed my mind. I because you might take this

(34:04):
guy anyway because he should be on the team. Let
me double check his age just to make sure that
he's not going to be like ancient. No, he's for
sure playing. He's for sure playing. How is George Kittle
not on this team? George, Yeah, George Kittle will for
sure be on the USA play.

Speaker 3 (34:20):
Football team in your center role. You said center role.

Speaker 4 (34:24):
I think he can for sure snap it back there
and then you know he can get out of his stance,
get up fast, go. I do like the idea. I
actually think a tight end. I was thinking tight end.
I like your running back thought. I like the idea
of a tight end getting up and then being in
the middle of the field already open, like it's just

(34:44):
like they're already like right where they're meant to be.
So I think that's hard. To just pick him out
of his stance will be incredibly hard for someone to do. Also,
there's not blocking, but there is like once you get
the ball, you want guys in front of you to
create some sort of thing. And if you want anyone

(35:06):
in that role, you want George Kittle.

Speaker 3 (35:07):
Sure.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
So I think he actually will be on the team
Captain America. So I think he's a good pick. Takes
out the forty nine ers, which I think there's some
interesting options there, So I think that's okay. Still, And
then on defense, I do I go safety because you

(35:29):
have not taken a safety yet. I just think there's
a couple of good safety options, but I need two
of them, I guess. So Yeah, in three years, I
still think this. This is the position where I was like,
who the best safety is in three years is going
to feel so different? But no, because of that, screw it.

(35:51):
This guy's a corner, but he needs to be on
the team, and like, what the hell is someone gonna
do with this guy? Try running any kind of like
fun go ahead, run a reverse option in front of
Derwin James, do it? I triple dog DAREI like, let's
go get them. So I think Derwin James and Trevon
Diggs chasing after people is right a nightmare. So I

(36:15):
think that's good. I think it stopped any kind of
like jump up and get it. So he is a
corner for me, but I there's a lot of the
other kind of corner out there, so I'll go get
another good one in that type of role. But for
the yeah, go ahead and try and get away from
Derwin James and also try and now physical him. It's

(36:36):
just not gonna happen. So I like that pick.

Speaker 3 (36:39):
Yeah, that is a good pick. Now, Okay, so that
does take away chargers, which also kind of stinks.

Speaker 4 (36:46):
I know a little bit of a little bit there.

Speaker 3 (36:48):
Yeah yeah. Also, I mean Harbaugh another great coach. We
just gotta stumble the super team.

Speaker 4 (36:56):
Their dad should do it, by the way. Yeah, sure, true.

Speaker 3 (37:01):
Here's the thing that I think USA will have over
everybody else. When we have NFL players, We're gonna have
good football minds, like calling players, designing shit. I think
we can be extremely versatile where it's like this person's
playing safety and then all of a sudden he's the rusher,
and then all of a sudden he's playing wide receiver.
Like I think we can just change people if there's

(37:23):
no true rules about how we do that, if we
just have ten people active and then do whatever you want,
which is what my understanding is. I want some people
we can throw, throw some different looks out there, keep
people fresh. So that's what I want to do. So
these two picks are gonna be on the defensive side
of the ball. Yeah, but one, my first one is

(37:44):
gonna be at corner, and I am gonna go with
Travis Hunter.

Speaker 4 (37:49):
Yeah. Yeah, that's a great pick. So Travis Hunter is.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Gonna be mostly defensive for us, but he can play
offense as well. I think he's a good man corner.
And you know what, if you want to be a
unicorn in the NFL, be a unicorn in the Olympics.
Let's see what the big guys got. We'll see what
we can do. And then the other player I have
is gonna be our safety, and he is a safety
in the NFL, but he's a pretty versatile defensive back

(38:15):
green Bay Zone. I'm gonna get Xavier McKinney. I need
someone who has a note for the football. We need
to get some interceptions here.

Speaker 4 (38:23):
That's great. McKinney was who I was. Yeah, that was
who I was going back and forth on. So that's
a great pick by you.

Speaker 3 (38:31):
So defense filling up, You got to catch up. You
got two picks.

Speaker 4 (38:35):
Though I got two picks I'm gonna get. I can't
let you double me up on safety, so I think,
and this guy's on the team that does not have
a lot of options, so I'm gonna go Buddha Baker.

Speaker 3 (38:51):
Fuck that was my rush pick. Oh, I think you
could be an animal going after the quarterback.

Speaker 4 (38:57):
It's a great one. Yes, So I, in my opinion,
the best young safety left to just go get one. So,
uh got him there. So I still need one more
safety and one more corner on the offense.

Speaker 3 (39:14):
Did you put Drman James at D back? Or did
you put him at safety?

Speaker 4 (39:18):
Oh, I suppose I could put him. In my brain,
I had him at corner because that's what he plays.

Speaker 3 (39:23):
But no, he's a safety.

Speaker 4 (39:24):
He is a safety.

Speaker 3 (39:26):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
I'll leave him at safety. Then I'll leave him at safety.
I kind of like the idea of him one on
one just roughing up dudes. But okay, I'm done with safety.
Then I kind of like that. Well, then I will.
Oh but Travis Hunter was my backup corner. Okay, I
gotta I gotta think through corner options. Who are your corners?

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Certain and Cannon Travis Hunter? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:49):
Yeah, I always say his day rock certain. So I'm
gonna leave it because you've got those. So I need
two corners, uh.

Speaker 3 (39:59):
I I.

Speaker 4 (40:02):
But that means, okay, I'm just gonna do it, and
and my receivers will be gross. I don't like this guy,
and I don't want him on the team. No, I'm
not gonna do it. Screw it. You can say at home, Tyreek,
I don't want I don't want you on the team. Okay,
I'm gonna instead take Kansas City off the board.

Speaker 3 (40:24):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (40:26):
And I'm gonna take Xavier Worthy. I'm gonna take him
as my running back role. Uh, you have George Kittle there, No,
he's my snapper. Oh.

Speaker 3 (40:42):
I guess it doesn't really matter. The way they listen
is like center running back, But it truly doesn't matter
in my mind.

Speaker 4 (40:50):
In my mind, I've got George kittlestaff and I've got
Lamar Jackson back there, and I've got to his right
half back. I've got that. Maybe I've said this up wrong,
but that's how I'm doing. And if they do it different,
Savior Worthy can go other places. But uh, let's run
the ball. That's fine. Yeah, super fucking fast and get

(41:10):
him in motion. I singing about debo, but then I
obviously took Kittle, so super yeah, super fast. And I
also think put him in motion all the time. Just never, yeah, never,
let him stop going back and forth between trying to
cover DK and then Save You're Worthy moving laterally. I
think that's a tough date the office. He also just

(41:31):
is Tyreek Keel, but a little less problematic.

Speaker 3 (41:34):
At the moment so far.

Speaker 4 (41:35):
Yeah, that's why the little's doing a lot of work
there right now. So we'll see.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
At this point in their careers, though Hill is already
further along so true, So are so good?

Speaker 4 (41:45):
So I feel good there and maybe block you from
Shenanigans in yeah, that direction, but I should block you
in a different way. I forgot about that. But those
are my two picks.

Speaker 3 (41:56):
So okay. I had to look up where this guy
plays right now because he just switched teams. Javon Holland
I think is one of the best safeties in the NFL,
and he is now. This is probably breaking news, at
least it was to me. He's on the Giants, So
I guess I took the Giants off the board with

(42:18):
Javon Holland, which is kind of shitty because Molik Neighbors
is there. Melik Neighbors would have been a nice wide
receiver pick, but I do want to get a good
young safety. Where's my tab? Where am I looking? Okay,
there we go. So Javon Holland is my second safety,

(42:38):
and then I still have quarterback, wide receiver and my
rusher on the board. I am at a loss of
what to do for my rusher at the moment, so
I'm going to ignore that and I'm gonna be strategic
and not take my quarterback because I don't think there's

(42:59):
anybody else on that team that you want. So wide receiver,
what wide receiver am I going to pick that hasn't
been chosen. Let's take a look at the stats from
this past year, because I can't think of anybody could
go that. Okay, could go there, could go, can't go Chargers.

Speaker 4 (43:23):
You know what.

Speaker 3 (43:24):
I think he's a damn good player, and I like
the cut of his jib. He I'm gonna go with
Jackson Smith and Jigba. I think he's a pretty versatile
wide receiver. I think he can play that running back
role a little bit. I think he's just a solid
good player.

Speaker 4 (43:41):
Yeah, that's so good he is. I think by the
time the Olympics come around, that could be like a layout.

Speaker 3 (43:49):
Yeah. Yeah, we'll see what he does this year without
DK now, but yeah, he is, he's young. I think
he's insanely good. So I like that a lot.

Speaker 4 (43:56):
Okay, I need three picks in and it's one ride
receiver and then two corners. Okay, so that makes this first.
I'll get the easy one out of the way. I
believe Houston is still available, Yes, all right, well I'm
gonna take Stingley Junior.

Speaker 3 (44:16):
Then that's very good.

Speaker 4 (44:18):
He's so good, so good, and again corners in three
years hard to guess, but I think he'll be in
there now. Zach. Here's the thing. I could be an
ass because I think I know who you want for quarterback,
and there's a.

Speaker 3 (44:36):
Lot of quarterbacks out there. I don't need a quarterback.

Speaker 4 (44:38):
It's fine, Okay, that's fine. And they have a decent
enough wide receiver that I could put on the team
if it's I'm thinking of. So yeah, so I think
I could do that, But that is I mean, that's
not really the route I want to go. I think,
what do you have left? I won't block you that way,
but I do want about positions.

Speaker 3 (44:59):
Have quarterback rusher.

Speaker 4 (45:02):
Oh okay, so we're really not gonna overlap, I think
then in that way, let me have a little fun
then with my last wide re So nope, can't. This
is gonna be hard because I am like, what teams
are left that I have not that haven't had someone taken.

(45:23):
So we're getting there a little bit. Let me take
a corner because otherwise I'm gonna end up with just
like a decent corner, you know. So I'm gonna go there.
So sorry that I don't have my pick ready to go.

Speaker 3 (45:36):
But I'm trying to fight a rusher at I don't
know who the fuck to take.

Speaker 4 (45:41):
Yeah, this is getting tough. I do think when they pick, Oh, okay,
I've got a corner that I'm gonna pick, so I'm
gonna talk for a second. I do think when they
pick through these pieces, I'll be interested how much they
go like old heads, Like, yeah, they're gonna be like
I was like, are they gonna take like a Larry Fitzgerald?

(46:03):
Are they gonna take like and maybe he'll be too
old at that point, but like a really recently retired
at that point, like a Julian Edelman or someone of
that status. Cooper Cup will be someone who's like right fresh,
like right now, I think the name would be Odell,
but yeah, he'll be he'll be washed by then. I'm

(46:25):
gonna take New England because I know we haven't taken them.
And Christian Gonzalez is very good so and could be
really good in three years too, so I feel good
about that. I had the All Pro list up, It's
like who I am I missing for the O Pro?
So my last pick is gonna be wide receiver, which
will be fun because I can I can pick a

(46:46):
good name. Now, I'm gonna these are your last picks, right, yes? Yea?
So so I want to take a stab at who
I think maybe you're going for quarterback? How much would
I fucked you up if I had said.

Speaker 3 (46:58):
Terry McLaurin, not at all. I don't need a quarterback.
We're fine.

Speaker 4 (47:02):
Oh okay, okay, there you go. Where's your next pick?

Speaker 3 (47:07):
Did you pick two?

Speaker 4 (47:07):
Here? Yeah? I picked I'm done. It's Stingley Junior and
Christian Gonzales season Terry McLaurin because.

Speaker 3 (47:15):
Okay, I'm gonna go Jay Daniels. Yeah, damn it.

Speaker 4 (47:19):
Okay, that let the record show because I tease this
at the start of the segment. That was why I
was like, do I take Lamar not because right? Or
do I just wait to take je Daniels? So that's
would Lamar have been your second choice?

Speaker 3 (47:32):
Probably someone who I think could be super good actually,
and again I'm not a fan of them, but I
think could be really good in this formats Kyler Murray. Oh,
that's great, Like I think he would. He's small, like
you can't hurtle or do stiff arm or do anything,
so like their move is like a dip to like
avoid getting the flags pulled. I think he could be
great at that with the whole baseball background, so I

(47:53):
think he'd be good there. And he's also one he's
part Korean, like he might play for South Korea, which
kind of stinks.

Speaker 4 (48:03):
Tough.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
He chose but a Baker anyway, so I couldn't have
taken them for this anyway.

Speaker 4 (48:07):
Well, I screwed myself over because all of a sudden,
I was like, you know who I think could be
fun in three years is the new jacked animal That
is Marvin Harrison Junior.

Speaker 3 (48:17):
True?

Speaker 4 (48:17):
Yeah, yeah, I blog myself there, so true.

Speaker 3 (48:22):
Okay, so now I have to take my rusher pick
and I have to pick somebody who has not been chosen.
I still think the best option for this position is
to go defensive back, whether that be corner, whether that
be safety. I think that's better than linebacker, even though
there's some smaller linebackers that would work in my opinion.
But we're not doing like a Max Crosby. We're not

(48:43):
going to do a T. J.

Speaker 4 (48:44):
Watt.

Speaker 3 (48:45):
Obviously, I can't take them anyway, but I'm not going
to do that. So I'm between and I can't pick
Jeremy Chin, who I think could be good for this role.
He is now on Washington. I am seeing was on
Boom the Raiders or no, he is on the Raiders now.
He is on the Raiders now, so I technically could

(49:06):
take him. I guess. Yeah, he switches teams every fucking year.
I'm gonna go with You know what's interesting, neither of
us have taken an Eagle, and they have so many
good players.

Speaker 4 (49:21):
Oh, that is such a good like Jalen Hurts could
be an animal on this. He was probably my third guy.

Speaker 3 (49:30):
Yeah, Saquon I think we think is gonna be too old,
but a J. Brown would have been good.

Speaker 4 (49:34):
I was gonna say, if you don't take an Egle,
so we'll see.

Speaker 3 (49:38):
Oh you still need a receiver. Yeah, I'm thinking Zach Bond.
But he's such a good athlete like he could work.

Speaker 4 (49:46):
He'd be good in this. If they pick a defensive
guy like linebacker type, he's a good pick here he.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
Is, he's an insane athlete. Otherwise, Nick Cross is decent.
I would like Brian brand she's a Detroit player, though.

Speaker 4 (50:03):
I blocked Kansas City. Otherwise you should pick that Gransburg.

Speaker 3 (50:06):
Asshole would be great. Absolutely, Yeah, I think I am
gonna go. I think I am gonna go Zach Bond.
I think Wisconsin a pick because you can talk about
how good of an athlete he is all the time,

(50:28):
like he was insane a basketball look that up. And
I really like the versatility on my defense. Like I
talked about making rotate people around, He's another guy you
can rotate a little bit too.

Speaker 4 (50:39):
When you can send Listen, you're gonna send some of
your safeties on blitzes. You're gonna drop Zach Bond back
Zach Bond. Weirdly, I know I picked tre Von Diggs
like Zach Bond might be a better like drop back
and ask you to cover somebody.

Speaker 3 (50:54):
Maybe he can do it all. Yeah, so Zone for sure.

Speaker 4 (50:59):
I love that. I think that's a really good pick.
I and I like it because it solidifies my fun
pick last, which is I'm gonna go receiver.

Speaker 3 (51:08):
Still could take the one that I think most people
would say as obvious.

Speaker 4 (51:12):
I know, I know we didn't take anyone from Miami,
so I could still take Listen, if there's a hill
I'll die on. It's in this hypothetical game.

Speaker 3 (51:21):
That's fine.

Speaker 4 (51:22):
Not taking Tyreek Hill and also by then he may
be ineligible. Yeah, yeah, being in jail. So we'll see.
And you know what, maybe I feel different about him
in three years too, that's also possible.

Speaker 3 (51:35):
But we only get so many hotel rooms. He's gonna
have like twenty five kids by then.

Speaker 4 (51:39):
That's so fair. I'm gonna go very fun pick that
could age really good or age not great in three years.
But I we haven't taken a ram, and I've got
dk Metcalf stretching the field. I got Xavier Worthy outrunning everyone.
I've got uh uh, George Kittle also can be a

(52:02):
vertical threat. And then I've got Lamar throwing the ball.
I kind of want just one slot, crazy guy. And
I don't know if anyone in the NFL knows how
to cover Pook in the coop.

Speaker 3 (52:15):
I think you have two good choices there, Like, I
don't think you go wrong with either.

Speaker 4 (52:19):
Cooper Cooper Cup might actually be on the team.

Speaker 3 (52:23):
No Cooper Cups. Cooper Cup's gone, he's in Seattle. I'm
talking Devanta Adams.

Speaker 4 (52:28):
Okay, I thought of Devonte. What is Devanta going to
be in three years?

Speaker 3 (52:33):
I think he's gonna be fine, Like he's got the
best get off like release in the NFL. In this format,
he could be insane.

Speaker 4 (52:39):
Oh he's only gonna be thirty five. I who cant too. Yeah,
I Cooper cup on the brain because I'm like, he's
like built for am I really not gonna taken me
slot White guys, but I guess I'm not. I'm gonna
take pookin the coop instead. I think we'll be really
really good at this. And I also kind of like

(53:00):
about Pooka is on my team of just like freak
speed dudes. He's just gonna out route run everyone. Yeah,
and is a little faster than Cooper Copper Davante right now,
Davante made me in a straight line. Still gets him,
but yeah, I don't. And I also like Nikoop of

(53:24):
like I don't know he's optioned four, but he'll always
be open.

Speaker 3 (53:29):
You also talked about at the start, You're like, my
team personalities is rough. Oh, like getting Kittle and Pooka
there evens it out.

Speaker 4 (53:39):
That's so they're gonna have such a fun time.

Speaker 3 (53:43):
Yeah for sure.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
By the way, Zach, you've sold me on this. I've
got my pits for my team right now. Why is
he on the team? Xavier where he's doing his thing.
DK Metcalf and Lamar out there, like, what's that gonna be?
Like the second a defensive player picks on pook in Nakua,
it's war like the d backs a little to mean

(54:04):
the Puka and George Kittle and DK Metcalf are gonna
kill them. George Pickens is on the sideline.

Speaker 3 (54:13):
I was thinking about Pickens too. He's the cowboy that
you blocked me from. I'd take him over sid Could
you imagine George Pickens against all of these other countries
defensive backs.

Speaker 4 (54:22):
Well, I almost said this is a joke and realize
I blocked him in the same position. I was like,
George Pikets could be your rusher.

Speaker 3 (54:29):
Yeah, George Pickens can do whatever the hell you want.

Speaker 4 (54:33):
Yeah, I know. Is there anyone retired currently? It was
hard to do that in my brain. If you had
to pick, like, I guess you don't have to be retired.
But let's pick someone who will be retired by twenty
twenty eight. Let me word it that way. Who's like,
you want an honorary spot on the team. He won't start,
but he'll play a little bit.

Speaker 3 (54:54):
I mean, I think DeVante could be that potentially.

Speaker 4 (54:57):
Yeah, I think Travis is an obvious possibility.

Speaker 3 (55:03):
Travis is interesting. He could play quarterback too. Legitimately. I mean, hey,
I'm a Rogers guy.

Speaker 4 (55:13):
I wonder if he'll be on the team.

Speaker 3 (55:15):
I sincerely it's in California, hometown boy. He well, the
throwers he'll make if it's DK Metcalf, Justin Jefferson does
these big, fast guys. I mean, it's gonna be unstoppable.

Speaker 4 (55:31):
If I wondered about Jalen Ramsey.

Speaker 3 (55:35):
Ramsey's interesting, Okay.

Speaker 4 (55:38):
Be fine, the one who by this point, okay, he's
younger than I think he is. I was like, oh dude,
when wide receivers was getting interesting, I'm like this guy, Okay,
he'd be forty two. But get Calvin Johnson the spot
on the team.

Speaker 3 (55:55):
I like that a lot. I mean, honestly, the other
one who's already retired. To get Luke Eakley out there.
Oh here, luck your luck Andrew, Look, luck would be awesome.
He comes back. Yeah, yeah, for sure, hurdle luck, that
would be yeah. Get him away. I want nothing to

(56:20):
do with you know who I'm nervous is going to
be our quarterback just because I'm I'm terrified. It's Russell Wilson,
really terrified. Like, doesn't that he feels like the United
States representative.

Speaker 4 (56:36):
He'll want to do it.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
Oh yeah, that's for sure, but like it just don't.
He keeps showing up in places he shouldn't be.

Speaker 4 (56:45):
I mean that's true. I'll be screaming the same thing
I am now, which is at least as do it.

Speaker 3 (56:50):
Jamis Man. Where's he now? He's on the Giants as well?
Yeah he would be. I mean he should be. He's
the honorary player. He doesn't need to play, he just
needs to be around.

Speaker 4 (57:03):
Yeah, Ryan Clark, get him in there.

Speaker 3 (57:07):
Him and RG three on the same team. That'd be good.

Speaker 4 (57:10):
That's dude. Justice for Tyron Taylor. We doing a whole
nother draft of just backup guys. Finally give him a
chance to shine.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
I mean, just a team of all quarterbacks I had.

Speaker 4 (57:21):
I could not think about their running backs obviously, And
when Xavier Worthy for like that spot, I was like,
do I say, Daniel Jones is that insane? Hey? He's versatile,
super personaal get him out there. Who's the I was also.

Speaker 3 (57:36):
Looking run he's a quarterback. He played safety one practice
before he quit the Giants. He can do it all.

Speaker 4 (57:43):
Yeah. Now I'm googling the Steeler wide receiver who also
threw the ball in like two thousand and eight. He
used to do it all the time. Antoine Randall out.

Speaker 3 (57:55):
What is he up to? I think he coaches for
the Lions.

Speaker 4 (57:59):
Roll him out. Oh, Saint Brown is a miss. But
we we did have Gibbs which led him, so okay,
that makes me feel good. I was like, oh, man,
I forgot about Saint Brown. Okay, report or two. But
I could have done.

Speaker 3 (58:13):
You could have done equanimious, could.

Speaker 4 (58:16):
Have There were Saint Brown's on the board. That's fair.
No bear, I was sinking of a couple of bears.

Speaker 3 (58:23):
There there's a couple. But you know, once you go
to Chicago.

Speaker 4 (58:28):
Oh dude, we have our honorary coach. It's done. Phone
it in, Pat Tillman.

Speaker 3 (58:36):
Patil.

Speaker 4 (58:38):
Okay, I feels like that skill set has to translate
to grabbing flags.

Speaker 3 (58:44):
You're talking Pete Tilban.

Speaker 4 (58:46):
Yeah, those not the same guy, Pat.

Speaker 3 (58:51):
For whatel for Pat Tilby's an honorary player for sure.

Speaker 4 (58:55):
Pat the dead guy. So sorry. Memorial Day?

Speaker 3 (58:59):
Oh no, hey, hey, you know what it is the
day for him to be our honorary player for sure.

Speaker 4 (59:06):
True salute in the comments. Damn, thank you for the
shout out. But yeah, I Peanut Tillman. What's his?

Speaker 3 (59:15):
Is that his?

Speaker 4 (59:15):
Is that his birth certificate? Peed it?

Speaker 3 (59:19):
I think?

Speaker 1 (59:19):
So?

Speaker 3 (59:19):
What what is his first name? Peanut till Charles Charles? Yeah,
there we go, that's it, damn it. I mean shit,
let's get let's get Charles Tillman. Let's get uh oh no,
why can't I think.

Speaker 4 (59:34):
Of Tillman's a good pick, right, get the punches in there.
He's grabbing flags.

Speaker 3 (59:39):
I agree. This is another This is another rule that's
just shocking stupid. You can't you can't force a fumble
in this is what they said. Oh, how stupid is that?
Like you can't go for the ball. What's the point?

Speaker 4 (59:54):
So are interceptions allowed? How does it turnover? Happen?

Speaker 3 (59:58):
Interceptions are allowed? I think if you literally fumble the ball,
just drop it, that's fine, but it can't be forced
that that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:05):
Cuts Adrian Peterson from consideration, though it does.

Speaker 3 (01:00:09):
That is true. He's wearing a stupid little rubber forearm things.

Speaker 4 (01:00:16):
That's so true.

Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
How just made of stick them and he still fumbled it.

Speaker 4 (01:00:19):
I will say at this point. I do have a
good idea for.

Speaker 3 (01:00:23):
Like Eddie Lacey, you can't touch up. He's spinning around
on the sideline over that bandicoot style.

Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
Claire caught me like just giggling to myself the other
night and I was sincerely watching it. Came up suggested
on Reels twenty thirteen Eddie Lacy highlights those screens. Man,
I was just giggling to myself. I was like, what
would she literally goes whatever happened to him, and I
was like McDonald's, yeah, I actually have a great suggestion

(01:00:55):
for a legit one. I think this guy will be
on the team because I don't know if his health
will allow him to still be in the NFL in
three years. But Christian McCaffrey, of course, would be ridiculous
in flag. I think he's flag football performance could get
him into the Hall of Fame.

Speaker 3 (01:01:12):
That was that was a question. I think it was
on McAfee the other day, like if you're if you
get a gold medal in flag football, it's the Pro
Football Hall of Fame, so it kind of is included.

Speaker 4 (01:01:26):
Yeah, depending on how they do it. I also think
that's where I got hard with, like with wide receivers
and stuff. Are they gonna go. I think they might go,
like an all Hall of Fame team. Just be like,
we're just only gonna pick people we know are already
Hall of famers.

Speaker 3 (01:01:44):
I mean, as long as we're not taken the flag
football guys, well just just take that's fine, go Justin Jefferson,
Jamior Gibbs or not Jim Jamar Chase, Like, just take
the top. Yeah, bring Antonio Brown back. That's fine. Nothing.

Speaker 4 (01:01:59):
And by the way, a bunch of guys we didn't mention.
I was like, when we were getting down there, like
Jonathan Taylor flag football.

Speaker 3 (01:02:06):
He'd be great. H chan from Devin Jammy's probably good.
Devin Hester. Oh fucking we missed one. Corderio Patterson the
job we did miss that. He'll play every position on
the fucking field, offense and defense, and he'll coach.

Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
That doesn't feel good. I was already feeling bad not
taking b John Robinson.

Speaker 3 (01:02:30):
But he would have been my other running back pick
if I didn't go Gibbs.

Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Yeah, I panicked and took Xavier Worthy, but I I
stand by it. Got the fastest dude left.

Speaker 3 (01:02:40):
But Worthy should have been picked for sure. He's just
too fast. You can't keep him off.

Speaker 4 (01:02:46):
No, and by the way, xavier' worthy real talk. If
he's still chief, he'll be blocked because he'll be Travis
for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
He's got to be retired by then. I could see Mahomes.

Speaker 4 (01:03:00):
That is so interesting. Yeah, Mahomes feels like he'd be
really good at flag football. He just doesn't feel like
he'd be as good as Jayden Daniels agree.

Speaker 3 (01:03:08):
He'll be fine. He's not gonna be the one running
around though. He's just gonna throw it around.

Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
I actually do Jalen Hurts and flag football legal.

Speaker 3 (01:03:19):
By the way, is that he has that illegal that
we're not blocking, We're just diving forward.

Speaker 4 (01:03:25):
So okay, no blocking allowed? Is that the rule?

Speaker 3 (01:03:29):
None? If literally, if the ball is coming at you
like someone's carrying the ball, they said you have to
start easing up, like he needs to stop running.

Speaker 4 (01:03:39):
So you might have a hard time with that.

Speaker 3 (01:03:42):
Oh he's gonna get flagged, but you know what, it
just takes one hit. He just needs to set the tone.
He's gonna be screaming the entire time.

Speaker 4 (01:03:50):
I think he's gonna do he can block without touching you.
I think he's just gonna get in your way just enough.

Speaker 3 (01:03:56):
If George Kittle's running at you, you're getting out of
the way.

Speaker 4 (01:04:00):
I mean absolutely, I did have a thought of like, listen,
J J. Watt's gonna be on this team, isn't he?

Speaker 3 (01:04:08):
At least let Derek do it.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
We should have all the Watts out here, all three
Watts and all twelve channels.

Speaker 3 (01:04:19):
That would be wild. Get every Nikoua, there's like five
of them to uh Sewell. There's a million Sewells too,
all Oo's team. Yeah, it be insane. You can get
You can get Jordan Tamu from the XFL. He'll be
a quarterback because we're not gonna do DJ and we're

(01:04:39):
not gonna do to what either that Roman reigns obviously
final loss. I mean, yeah, he's got to be the rusher.

Speaker 4 (01:04:45):
Paul haman coach.

Speaker 3 (01:04:48):
As a lot of areas, Yeah, I think so.

Speaker 4 (01:04:52):
Paul Hayman with a whistle and the.

Speaker 3 (01:04:55):
Paul Hayman as the coach would be incredible. Yeah, he
should be the coach. You know, how much coaching are
you doing? You know, we just need someone to talk
to the reporters after the game. And if Paul Ham
was gonna cut a pro ball against every country. That's it.
That's all.

Speaker 4 (01:05:11):
He started cutting one of a couple of weeks ago.
Pat McAfee, he did.

Speaker 3 (01:05:16):
He said some things.

Speaker 4 (01:05:17):
Uh, he's got the material down. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:05:20):
There isn't anybody better on microphone in the history of
microphones than Paul Hayman.

Speaker 4 (01:05:26):
He has. I heard something particulate, like.

Speaker 3 (01:05:29):
One other person, bron Breaker is on our team.

Speaker 4 (01:05:33):
That's good, that's very good. I kept wanting to say,
Charles Woodson. Honestly, every time I replay.

Speaker 3 (01:05:44):
Trypaul Omalu's made for this.

Speaker 4 (01:05:46):
That's so fair. It's unfair. They're not. This isn't their time.

Speaker 3 (01:05:51):
I mean, the early two thousands flag football team would
have been insane. It would have been absolutely incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
I saw a stat today, this could be tone segment.
I saw a stat today that the two thousand and
three Miami Hurricanes would have gone eight and four if
their offense never played.

Speaker 3 (01:06:07):
I've seen that before. How insane is that that defense was?
By the way, Chuck Bogano coaching that defense too, That
defense is insane.

Speaker 4 (01:06:18):
Miami's by it's by the way, an offense scored fifty touchdowns, right, Yeah,
it wasn't like they were carried Greg Olsen. You know
White Lightning.

Speaker 3 (01:06:28):
He's the one that everyone remembers.

Speaker 4 (01:06:29):
Yeah, for sure, Yeah, I remember because he's got that
wrap that he never wanted anyone to hear.

Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
That. It is true. I forgot about that.

Speaker 4 (01:06:38):
Yeah, don't worry, go give that a Google. Yeah, but no,
that was the stat that cracked me up to day.
It's like that team's job, that team has been will
for gotten their running back death chart?

Speaker 3 (01:06:49):
Yeah, yes, they do for everything.

Speaker 4 (01:06:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Oh, let's make Achey what a career the running backs.
We could put our early two thousand flag football team.
I mean, we need another retired person recently retired, rest
in peace, Frank Gore. We mean Frank Dore on our team.

Speaker 4 (01:07:12):
Frank Gore's really good.

Speaker 3 (01:07:14):
I was.

Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
I also kept being like Darren Sproles could still play.

Speaker 3 (01:07:19):
Darren Sproles could for sure, Dexter mccluster musician.

Speaker 4 (01:07:24):
Sorry that I'm Gonnagie. Reggie Bush would be very good
at play football. Yes, yes, obviously.

Speaker 3 (01:07:32):
T Tibo would be boy boy Tibo would be incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
That would be. I don't want to get too far
down the rabbit hole because we are evolving into our
favorite game, which is listening. But I do think we
could do this as a segment of each of us
spin a wheel with a random year on it. It's like,
who has the best flag football team just by that year.

Speaker 3 (01:07:56):
That's an incredible segment. Maybe that turns into what the
show is for the next year.

Speaker 4 (01:08:00):
We should just do over and over.

Speaker 3 (01:08:03):
Yeah, what year the top stat performers from that year
would make the best flag football team? And then we'll
just figure it out because if you have I mean,
there's gonna be a lot of years where it's like
just Peyton Manning on the top and then Marvin Harrison.
But hey, there's gonna be some bangers with all of
a sudden Airing Foster shows up. What's he doing there?

Speaker 4 (01:08:23):
I think we'd have to be in different decades, Like
maybe we do a wheel of decades and then a
wheel of year so that you and I aren't because
if it's like twenty thirteen versus twenty seventeen, there's some overlap. Still,
I still think it's fun, but I think it's fun
to do. Like, dude, you don't want the smoke of
fran Target to bring him up again. He's maybe that

(01:08:45):
is so good at flag football?

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
That is something we should do we should do like
a two to three year span. We spin the wheel,
you get that two to three year span for the NFL,
and then we compete in whatever we spin the other
wheel lands on. You get apelling competition at porn.

Speaker 4 (01:09:00):
Oh, that's fun. You can tell Deacon Jones it's no contact.
You can tell them. Let's see what happens.

Speaker 3 (01:09:07):
Yeah, yes, you're a Lowens. Taylor thinks that about your flags.

Speaker 4 (01:09:12):
Lawrence Taylor is a great one. Lawrence Taylor is so good,
by the way, you know who is This is without argument. Okay,
we have to do something. I'm gonna not waste all
of my bullets on this, but I will say this
is indisputable. Jim Zorn is a great flag football quarterback.

Speaker 3 (01:09:30):
Yeah, yeah he is.

Speaker 4 (01:09:32):
You'd be so good. Not as good as.

Speaker 3 (01:09:35):
No, of course, not, never has been, never will be, no,
but really good.

Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
So we gotta do that. Yeah, year spinning. Then we're
picking a random hobby team.

Speaker 3 (01:09:45):
I like it too. Next week, next week, we got
it probably, that's probably what It's a long off season,
is what we've figured out. And that sounds perfect for
next week. So keeping the team thing though, yes, keeping
the team thing for sure. Monday night, next Monday night,

(01:10:07):
we'll see well, you know, we'll flip a coin and
see who picks first, and we will see you next
week Monday night, or if you want to listen after

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
