Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi, Hey, don't list to play Flurry Sports will save
your day? Can joke Swiss sports inside? Zach and Shake
say get it right?

Speaker 2 (00:11):
Fuck you.

Speaker 3 (00:23):
Welcome back to the Flurry Sports Podcast. I am Zach
Brunner and Jake is on his honeymoon this week and
next week. Good for him enjoying the terrible, terrible people
of Paris, France, and we'll be talking a little bit
about France day. Luke Rhymer is with me, and while
it's never good that Jake's out of town, it's probably
as good of a week as it could have been

(00:44):
because NBA is starting this week. And when Luke comes on,
we get to talk a little bit about basketball and
he will catch us up on what to actually care about.
We'll start with a little bit of football, but most
of this is going to be basketball. I will start
by saying, Luke wrote, I think it's about a six
thousand word article on flurry sports dot org. You can
go check it out right now, detailing his predictions for

(01:05):
the entire NBA season. Definitely go show that some love,
share it wherever you can, because I can only assume
he spent a while on it.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
A couple of days.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
Yeah, like a lot of words in there I can
only imagine, and a lot of predictions.

Speaker 4 (01:21):
It's not like you just wrote up whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:24):
Like everything puts thought into it, right, Honestly, if you
are a basketball fan or like me, like I was
a diehard basketball fan, have not really paid attention for
the past at least five years, I would say I was, like,
my last clear memory is TJ. Warren going crazy in
the bubble. Yep, that's probably where I'm at, Like just

(01:47):
reading some of the names, looking at some of the
people if they rose to start them or to relevancy.

Speaker 4 (01:52):
Or the past.

Speaker 3 (01:53):
Let's just say, like three years, I really don't know
who they even are, so like this would be a
good conversation.

Speaker 2 (02:00):
Yeah, just before we touch get into football here, you
are correct for not caring about the NBA for four,
like the last four years. I think that's kind of
a lot of people's on point of view, and I
don't disagree. I'm a basketball fan. The NBA has always
been my number one thing, so I maybe I think
I'm kind of in a sect of that. I guess
I would say NBA is by far the worst run

(02:22):
organization out of the out of the four sports I'm
not a hockey guy. I know the people who watch
hockey love hockey, and the people don't watch hockey, you
don't really know about it. So I assume hockey is
run great. Football is just a monster, and baseball, I
think baseball is. At least these playoffs, it kind of
feels like more people are watching than normal, maybe just
because I'm a fan and I've talked to her fans
about it, but I think you know, the NBA is

(02:44):
behind baseball, which is which is not a great thing.

Speaker 3 (02:47):
No, And they're trending in different directions, yes, like very clearly.
While I'm not a huge fan of the NBA, at
least lately, it used to be arguably my favorite league.
Actually what my While I don't love the NBA, I love,
or rather hate authority. So I like to do things
differently than what people in positions of power say. And

(03:10):
Adam Silver does not want us watching basketball. That's the
commissioner of the NBA. So guess what. I'm picking up
NBA once again. This so as a screw you to
the commissioner of the NBA. Unfortunately, I will be watching
your product, and Luke is going to make sure I
know what actually matters today, and you.

Speaker 2 (03:27):
Yeah, two thousands. NBA is like the greatest thing that's
ever been put out in entertainment. I'd go back, you know,
if I'm ever sitting down, i have time and then
look for something to watch, I'll just throw on you know,
like two thousand and five Raptors versus Patriots. It's just so,
it's so fun, the Granny footage, the baggy shorts fights
on every single possession. It's incredible basketball.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
It does feel weird even like between let's just say
two thousand three to two thousand, well, two thousand and
seven eight was Celtics, so let's say two thousand and
three to two thousand and six. Yeah, just watching that footage,
you don't know what year it is based on the
camera quality. I don't know why the pa Is footage.
Like watching let's say, like Toronto Tracy McGrady. No, people

(04:15):
like twenty five years from now will have no idea
what point in.

Speaker 4 (04:18):
Time that was correct it was.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
It's weird. I'm not sure what happened there. But yeah,
but we will start with talking about the headlines in
the NFL this weekend. So every single week Jake and
myself agree on two headlines that we will be logging
and make sure we talk about at the end of
the season. We remember already taking the look back, even

(04:41):
the two preseason or let's say the two offseason headlines.
We had Mike Tomlin walking on the beach with Aaron Rodgers.
Remember that week one we had Jalen Carter spitting. We
remember that we had Week five. This seems like forever ago.
Now that's when Mark Fastanchez was stabbed. That's going to
be a wild one to look back. I would say

(05:02):
that was that I can't wait for the thirty for
thirty on that because he was the victim, he is
the accuser, he was. It was quite a wild five
hours on Twitter or so.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
Yeah. The it felt like when a story first came out,
like oh, he got drunk, he'll get out of it.
And then I don't know if it was a true
picture or not, but the guys in the hospital bit
all bloody, like Mark Sanchez is not getting out of this.

Speaker 3 (05:25):
He attacked the guy in his truck, right, So no, no,
he is. Yeah, it's his fault over a parking spot.
So uh interesting. I'm also an old guy, so a
lot of things wrong for Mark Sanchez. They're interesting. Uh,
but so today we need to talk about the our
two biggest headlines for the week, and you know, we'll

(05:46):
just throw out our ideas and we just got to
agree on to my main one. And I don't know
how to phrase this. Usually I'm good with phrasing these
and making them catchy, but I feel like the my
biggest headline of the weekend, my most favorite thing is
the old quarterbacks that showed up and the matchup. Obviously,
we started with Flacko versus Rogers. We somehow stumbled upon

(06:08):
Andy Dalton versus Tyrod Taylor, which is very interesting. And
then there was another one that popped up as well,
not a matchup, but another old head playing I can't
remember who it was. And then now next week we're
probably gonna get Kirk Cousins. Oh yeah, Mariota, he's probably
gonna start next week and played some this week. We're
probably gonna have Kirk Cousins next week as well. So

(06:28):
I feel like it was like a throwback Thursday of
a week with the quarterback matchups, and it honestly resulted
in some of the most fun football I think.

Speaker 2 (06:38):
Yeah, so my number one was gonna be Grandpa Week
is what I is, what I called.

Speaker 4 (06:42):
It, Grandpa Week. That's fine.

Speaker 3 (06:44):
Yeah, it's surprising that Thursday Night Football wasn't the oldest
combined quarterback age.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah then yeah, I thought the same thing. And then
you're like, oh yeah, Brady kind of played till he
was like six hundred years old.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Right right, The oldest is Tom Brady versus Drew Brees,
which makes sense.

Speaker 2 (07:02):
It is funny looking at that list that like four
of the spots include Brady and like three of the
spots include Rogers.

Speaker 4 (07:09):
Yeah. Yeah, do you think now that we're going down
with like Rogers is playing really good football?

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Sure is.

Speaker 4 (07:19):
I'm almost wondering if this isn't his last year.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
Yeah yeah, yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:26):
Maybe maybe it's wishful thinking, but he's playing good.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
He's playing good football. It at some point, when does
when does Rogers say? And this is how much of
a psychopath Rogers is? Right forty one years old. Like
the whole last three years has just been everyone in
just shitting on him and him like going off to
to Peru and doing ayahuasca and and you know, hanging
out with with with like you know, it feels like

(07:50):
Amazon locals down there and then he comes back and
has there been one like even story about Aaron Rodgers
this year? He just out slinging the ball from Mike Tomlin.
He's a winning games and now I know that, you know,
Cincinnati beat him last week, but he You know that
Roger looked awesome in that game. Rodgers looked awesome all
the year. On top of I think a lot. What's

(08:12):
going for Rogers that's probably given him a little fuel
here is that Jets just being like the worst football
team of all time.

Speaker 3 (08:17):
Yeah, that certainly helps. Remember remember week ones, like, oh
my god, Jets could be a wagon. They should they
probably should have won that game. But yeah, the Jets
are bad justin fields.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
It's terrible. I mean, he's gonna get benched. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:31):
The only non football story from Rogers I think probably
came from this week, and that was when Roderick Jones
jumped on his back for some reason, but like that
was a good idea to do. Rogers got pissed off, rightfully.
So the dude just tore his achilles, don't jump on
his back.

Speaker 2 (08:46):
That felt like, like, you know, uh, like a kid,
one of your kids. You know, your dad did some
cool and one of your kids. You know, it's all
pumped up and like jumping on him. It just happens
that the kid is like, you know, four inches and
like three hundred heavier than him. Like day, God, Rodgers
didn't get hurt, right that, Like that was horrible. I
get why Rodgers is pissed.

Speaker 4 (09:06):
If he hurt Rogers, Broderick Jones would never see Pittsburgh again.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
And then the and then the the chirpers on Twitter
right that, the Rogers haters saying, I can't believe Rogers
is still unheteable or still hatable watching him bitch out
his lineman. Dude almost killed him.

Speaker 4 (09:21):
Yeah, bad t bait. Rogers said, a terrible t bait,
Like what are you talking about? Right this guy? I
don't really blame Roderick Jones, but like think, think a.

Speaker 2 (09:30):
Little bit correct.

Speaker 4 (09:31):
He's clearly the wrong. That's so stupid. Could you imagine
even if Gronk did that to Tom Brady much all
as a lineman, that would have been insane? Yeah, no, no,
shot Rogers is fine.

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Imagine David Andrews jumping on Brady's back as a as
they're running to the end zone.

Speaker 4 (09:48):
Yeah, vincible Fork doing it or something. Yeah, it makes
it makes no sense.

Speaker 3 (09:52):
That's anyone will just grasp at straws to hate on Rodgers,
and I get it, I suppose. But there's also a
way now where it's like Steelers fans are saying, what
were you guys doing in Green Bay? Everything you told
us about this guy is not true. What's like they're
waiting for the switch to flip, and it's like, no,
he's He's just not a bad dude, sorry.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
A cool dude who is really good at throwing a football.

Speaker 3 (10:17):
And cares about while the football season's going. He cares
about nothing but football. He's not making headlines. He's not
trying to. He went and talked to Pat McAfee and
then you know, he got set up a little bit
by him, I think, but even still like he was
just saying he was answering questions that were asked to him,

(10:37):
and they were like, oh, why did you share your
thoughts about that? I don't know he answered a question.
Lebron even gets a little bit of that. Even though
I can't stand Lebron, He's my least favorite athlete in
the world. But like the whole shut up and dribble things,
then don't talk to him correct. If you don't want
to know, the same with Schador. Now I don't want
to hear what a third dring quarterback has to say,
then don't ask.

Speaker 2 (10:58):
Right, Yeah, it's the Eric Andre tweet right of the
him shooting himself and saying, oh they caused the problem,
and the memes just them is the shooter?

Speaker 3 (11:09):
Yeah, yeah, one hundred percent. Okay, So Grandpa Week is
for sure one of our headlines. The only other thing
I really wrote down, And I don't know if it's
a big headline. I just think it's cool to mention
that Broncos game. Obviously, the Broncos came back and beat
the Giants, second most fourth quarter points scored in NFL
history to come back and win. They scored thirty three

(11:31):
in the fourth quarter. That's insane, but it was on
the Marius Thomas day. Marius Thomas died when he was
thirty three. Giants were kicking an extra point after a
touchdown to score the thirty third point. He missed it.
Broncos got the ball back after the kickoff with thirty
three seconds left. Broncos drive the field hit the game
winning field goal to score thirty three points and beat

(11:54):
the Giants thirty three to thirty two, So that was coincidental,
it was a sign was something I don't know. I
thought it was cool, and I also loved the Marius Thomas,
so I'm glad that happened on his day too.

Speaker 2 (12:06):
Yeah, it's a cool thing, right when uh, when I guess,
kind of a franchise not that you know, someone dying
is cool, but when a franchise legend is kind of remembered,
right and then and then the team kind of railies
around him. A couple of years back, the guy for
the Los Angeles Angels, of course, now I'm forgetting his name.
He died of an overdose or something. And then the
day they honored him that the Angels threw a no hitter,

(12:28):
a combined no hitter, which is you know, it's it's
cool things like that. It always feels like there's something,
not that he died, but like when the game after
deamor Hammelin, when Nahim Heindri turned the kick for a
touchdown open the game. Just cool shit like that.

Speaker 3 (12:41):
Yeah, tonight, I mean, we'll see what Tampa Bay does
with Doug Martin randomly dying, which I'm not sure if
there's any like clarity on that yet that just seems
really weird. But I wonder if they talk about that
or if it's a too soon situation. But certainly interesting.
Tampa is definitely ending in that right direction to everybody

(13:02):
was supposed to be out Now everybody's playing. Interesting for
Baker Mayfield. There any other big headlines that we grow
in there.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I had one that I can't pull my finger. Who
came in? Who relieved Patrick Mahomes in that Chiefs Raiders game?

Speaker 4 (13:17):
Minshew?

Speaker 2 (13:18):
Okay, so we had one, two, three, four? Five Eagles
quarter former Eagles quarterbacks play this week? Former on the
Eagles four or five? Who?

Speaker 4 (13:33):
Minshew hurts?

Speaker 2 (13:34):
Minshew? Can you piket with the Raiders?

Speaker 4 (13:40):
It's true?

Speaker 2 (13:40):
Yeah, hold on, I gotta, I gotta pull this up.
I just had it.

Speaker 4 (13:45):
Trying to think, oh Wentz, Carson Wentz.

Speaker 2 (13:49):
And that might be it.

Speaker 4 (13:52):
Maybe somebody else Mariota did he play for the Eagles.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Maybe I probably should have did my research on it
before he brought this up.

Speaker 4 (14:01):
I'm not sure.

Speaker 3 (14:02):
Maybe I know there's a lot of weird quarterback stuff
this year and it's just because of injuries, But like
I think a third of the league or maybe a
half the league or something. Again, don't have the right stats,
so maybe can't use it. Was starting a quarterback who
wasn't drafted by them, which is also weird. And then
I mean there's a lot of backups playing right now

(14:23):
obviously as well.

Speaker 4 (14:24):
That's weird. Another big storyline.

Speaker 3 (14:27):
And you know it's we come to this point every
single season of the Floory Sports podcast too, so maybe
we document it.

Speaker 4 (14:35):
Chiefs are the Chiefs again?

Speaker 2 (14:36):
Yeah, oh for sure, Like this.

Speaker 3 (14:39):
Is finally, this is the first time they've had Rashi Rice,
Xavier Worthy, Marquis Brown on the field together, Like this
is what they imagine. Okay, good, and I think they're
the Super Bowl favorites now. To be stupid, I'd be like,
even at the betting gods, I think they took it over.

Speaker 4 (14:54):
I know Mahomes is the MVP favorite, right.

Speaker 2 (14:58):
That first touchdown Rachee Rice was most obvious thing that
was gonna happen in like NFL history. Yeah, yeah, you
seem you seem get down with the goal line. We like,
we see it all the time, right, the thrill Travis
Kelcey just a quick screen and let him run. They
you know you you as soon as Rashi Rice turned
to go in motion like this is an easy Hi
Rice touchdown.

Speaker 4 (15:17):
Yeah. And the second most obvious thing was that them
going on fourth down, Yeah, when Mahomes was acting that
out when.

Speaker 3 (15:24):
They do that ship all the time. He's not a
good actor. I'm not sure what they fall for that stuff.

Speaker 2 (15:28):
Them going forward on fourth down when Tony Romo said
they're not going for this on fourth down.

Speaker 4 (15:32):
Yeah. I hate Tony Romo.

Speaker 3 (15:34):
And he had a very much a Tony Romo game
where he was just belligerent pretty much the entire time.

Speaker 4 (15:39):
But his reaction to that was really funny.

Speaker 2 (15:41):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (15:42):
He was just a football fan in that moment, but
it got him, which is awesome.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
I don't know, has anyone I wonder how many people
like Tony Romo because when he came on, he was
the number one guy, right. I don't know if anyone's,
you know, outside of like just being a bad person,
if anyone's like done a one to eighty more.

Speaker 3 (15:58):
On an announcer, right, Yeah, unless anyone had any high
hopes for Jason Witten coming in, he was just bad.

Speaker 2 (16:10):
Yeah. I guess nobody really like him, booger. Nobody really
liked off the bat No.

Speaker 4 (16:15):
They did Booger Dirty too, Grogermobile and stuff like that.
It was just stupid.

Speaker 3 (16:20):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, aside from being like a terrible person,
I'm not sure like.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
And I know people used to like collins Worth, but
that's kind of been like a slow burn to where
people are just kind of annoyed with them.

Speaker 4 (16:33):
Yeah, I would say more than annoyed. People are done
with Collinsworth, and rightfully so.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Maybe yeah he's so good man.

Speaker 4 (16:43):
I'm here or miss at Rico. Sometimes I love him.

Speaker 3 (16:45):
Sometimes I'm like, this guy is just a nerd and
he just doesn't vibe with me.

Speaker 2 (16:49):
Maybe yeah, So he did the classic the Guy was
it two weeks ago on the Sunday Night where the
Guy the fan caught the pass and he ran into
the and Triggle called that like that's just falling out
of Kevin Harlan's playbook, but that every time someone calls
a fan doing something.

Speaker 3 (17:06):
Oh see, I didn't like it because I'm like, oh,
he's just trying to be Harlan. Maybe he didn't like it,
but I mean that I think that's a me problem.
It should have been good. So yeah, it's probably a
me thing.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
To be fair, if I had my pick, Like every
single game I watch, I wish Kevin Harlan could just
announce every single sports game of all time.

Speaker 4 (17:23):
He's incredible.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
He's the best, the best.

Speaker 4 (17:26):
Yeah, yeah, we should do ranking show or something. Off season.
We can do a power ranking so commentators or something.
We should do that. For the Olympics.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
We should just create a super team and have like
Bruden and analyzed like figure skating and incredible.

Speaker 4 (17:42):
To have like all of our football people on that,
it would be the best.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
Did you see the clip of Gruden listening to NBA
Young Boy and telling him that that so grewen. The
system comes in and goes, what do you listen to?
When Gruden goes NBA Young Boy? Will Howard put me
onto it? It's all good.

Speaker 4 (18:02):
I did not see that. I love you. Better get
back into coaching. He's the absolute greatest. At least put
him back in a booth.

Speaker 2 (18:10):
Right At some point I want to create a ranking
of like just the best, like football, like personality guys,
and I think I mentioned before where where hardball is
probably like close to the top of that list. It
has to be Gruton as the number one guy.

Speaker 3 (18:23):
Yeah, he's He's just a cartoon with everything he does,
whether it's in the booth or on the field wherever,
he's always been great. Where As like there's certain people
like I love them. Like let's say I love Rex,
I don't love him on ESPN usually the.

Speaker 2 (18:42):
Shtick of him getting the trivia right, it was pretty funny.

Speaker 3 (18:45):
Yeah, for sure, for sure, I mean Rex is Rex.
And I hope Rob Ryan is doing good if he's
like I think he's coaching somewhere, is he? I think so.

Speaker 4 (18:56):
I think he's like a senior you know, coaching. He's
like a senior analyst somewhere. I think. Okay, I mean
I think we should just do Chiefs as the chiefs.

Speaker 2 (19:05):
That's fine. I think I think Grandpa Bowl has to
be remembered Grandpa.

Speaker 3 (19:09):
Yes, yeah, yeah, yeah, that's in there for sure. But
Chiefs Chiefs is the chiefs.

Speaker 4 (19:16):
Great. Okay, Now let's shift gears NBA for those who
are listening and don't know, because they don't really, I
haven't even seen the commercial. I don't think it's because tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (19:28):
You have to buy streaming services to watch them.

Speaker 3 (19:30):
True, true, I will say they keep popping up as
advertisements when I'm watching these streaming services. How much is
on each one, Like I have no informations, Like you
can watch NBA all season long on Prime I don't much.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
I don't know if you can pull up the schedule,
but there's a like a they break it down what
you can see every day where you can find a
game every day.

Speaker 3 (19:53):
Like I'm just gonna bring up the ESPN schedule here
because it'll tell me, because I honestly have no idea
what prime time is this year. I don't know what. Okay,
so tomorrow both of the games are on Peacock to
start off.

Speaker 2 (20:07):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (20:08):
On Wednesday, there's two ESPN games and that's it. Yep
to ESPN our Thursday to Prime our Friday one, NBA
TV Saturday, No National on Sunday. Makes it makes sense
to Peacock Monday, Okay? Huh? I think I think you

(20:30):
have to have like fandual TV or something to you
like local too correct.

Speaker 2 (20:35):
I don't. I don't know. Maybe I maybe I misread
this somewhere. I was told some wrong information. But at
some point I was told that Michael Jordan's gonna be
an analyst, and that feels like something that should be
hyped up for the NBA season.

Speaker 4 (20:49):
Yeah, I know. I don't.

Speaker 2 (20:51):
I didn't.

Speaker 3 (20:52):
I was half listening to it because I was making
a joke when they were doing it. But last night
on Sunday Night Football, they said something about an interview
with Jordan.

Speaker 2 (21:00):
Treacle was interviewing Jordan about something. I don't know what
that was for.

Speaker 4 (21:03):
Okay, I have no idea if it's related or not,
but huh, okay.

Speaker 3 (21:08):
If Jordan's gonna be like an in studio person or
like an actual on the sideline, I don't know.

Speaker 4 (21:13):
But if he is, that's incredible. I should do that.

Speaker 2 (21:16):
Such good marketing for the NBA.

Speaker 3 (21:18):
Yes, yeah, get somebody besides fucking Doris Burke on the
mic and I'll listen.

Speaker 4 (21:24):
She didn't she get relegated, You got.

Speaker 2 (21:27):
Kicked off the the the A team at ESPN.

Speaker 4 (21:31):
Good. She is tough to listen to.

Speaker 2 (21:32):
The Craziest thing ever is getting rid of jeff An
Gundy and Mark Jackson for for Doris Burke and Richard Jefferson.

Speaker 3 (21:40):
Yes, that's Richard Jefferson with her. I hate that dude.
I love Van Gundy too. I might be in the minority.
I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (21:47):
Both are incredible, incredible personalities.

Speaker 4 (21:51):
Yes, love them both.

Speaker 3 (21:54):
Lets do a full ultimate NBA preview here. What we're
going to start with, in true flurry sports podcast fashion,
I'm just gonna do a rundown. I'm gonna name every
single team for you, Luke, and I just want you
to describe them in one word. But their season is
going to be what they are as a team, whatever
it may be, however you interpret it. We're just going

(22:14):
to rifle through these thirty NBA teams one word to
describe them each.

Speaker 2 (22:19):
No other content, no other explanation.

Speaker 4 (22:22):
No no, I just need one name.

Speaker 2 (22:24):
Okay, yep, okay, hold on, I got them all mixed
up here, so it might take me a second because
I have what I've written down here.

Speaker 3 (22:31):
Okay, Atlanta Hawks, Next, Boston Celtics, Launch, Brooklyn Netsu STU,
Charlotte Hornets, au Chicago Bulls, Hope with a question mark,

(22:53):
Cleveland Cavaliers.

Speaker 2 (22:56):
So so this is gonna be two words, but you'll
get the idea.

Speaker 4 (23:00):
Buffalo Bills, gotcha, uh, Dallas Mavericks, Arboretum, the Nuggets, Champs, Pistons, Dogs, Warriors, Strokes, Rockets, Hoopers, Pacers, Vacation, Clippers, Retirement,

(23:31):
Home Lakers, Overrated, Easiest one Grizzlies, uh if.

Speaker 2 (23:41):
The Heat, uh Heat, Texans.

Speaker 4 (23:47):
The Bucks, catastrophic, Timberwolves, ant Pelicans, beef Nicks, back thunder.

Speaker 2 (24:03):
Lob in reference to the twenty thirteen Seattle Seahawks defense.

Speaker 4 (24:08):
Oh okay, Magic Crossroads, seventy six ers, five hundred Suns, unorganized,
the Blazers, Chauncey Kings, Nightmare, Spurs, Holes, Jazz.

Speaker 2 (24:33):
Waiting, and then.

Speaker 4 (24:35):
The Wizards.

Speaker 2 (24:37):
Process.

Speaker 3 (24:39):
Okay, okay, see what you did with a few of
them there? Ye is there any you want to expand
on to start? Let's let's start with that.

Speaker 2 (24:49):
I can. I can give you like a quick rundown.
I guess, like I guess we'll talk about the Bucks,
just because Bucks fan like catastrophic. This is a very
catastrophic year for this is not a good team. I
don't know, like Jimmy Haslam, who's the owner of the
Cleveland Browns, I bought bought ownership into the Bucks and
it's been like horrible since, and it's like they're starting

(25:10):
to run this team like it's the Cleveland Browns. I
don't Giannis so I think Giannis has probably his best
year of his career. There's not really anyone else to
kind of, you know, help him other than Myles Turner.
But is Miles Turner a number two option? Probably not so.
Gianna score thirty five a game on you know, sixty
percent shooting, absolutely, but what does that give the Bucks?

(25:30):
A six seed in a first round loss for the
fourth straight year, fifth straight year. So so Bucks lose.
I think it's catastrophic. I think, you know, as much
as I want to keep you honest, I wouldn't be
mad if you know, they get rid of them to
get some of that draft compensation back, Zach, did you
see this that the bucks last eleven draft picks or
the last eleven drafts, the Bucks have not signed their
draft pick to a second contract. The last player they

(25:51):
signed to a second contract was Giannis. Really, they'd just
been the like the worst draft drafting team ever.

Speaker 4 (26:00):
Yes, the last like hyped up draft pick I feel
like was.

Speaker 2 (26:03):
Thn Maker great great mix, great au mix shape Man,
that that was awesome.

Speaker 4 (26:08):
Yeah, for sure, for sure.

Speaker 2 (26:11):
So I can both the box. But it's I don't
think things are things are definitely not trending in the
right direction.

Speaker 4 (26:16):
Do they have like the picks right now to make
trades like mid season or are they completely screwed.

Speaker 2 (26:23):
Not trades for like anything that's gonna go and win
you a championship. Okay, like they traded, they traded for
Kyle Kuzma. They traded to you know, as who I
like is when Chris Middleton for Kyle Kuzo, who's not
even gonna start for him this year?

Speaker 3 (26:38):
Right, Yeah, that was just a bad trade for everybody.
It's just stupid. Yeah, I guess that makes me sad
we need Yeah, here's the thing, because you say that,
I'm mostly a te Walz fan, but I'm a Bucks fan.
They're They're not rivals like we've talked about before, so
I like them both. You're talking about how terrible they

(27:01):
are at drafting, It's like, okay, cool, what are we
going to get for Giannis draft picks?

Speaker 4 (27:05):
I know, great, fantastic, I know it.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
So yeah, so as as you know, as a you know,
diehard Giannis and that guy he gave it like it's
in the buck best Bucks like era in their history.
You want to see honest retired with the Bucks. But
if they move on, like you have to like okay
that and you know, like I see it.

Speaker 3 (27:23):
Is there any belief from Bucks fans that Doc could
turn like some of these bon names into like, no,
everyone's out on Doc.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Doc. He just doesn't like there's no chance for any
young guys to play with Doc. It's all you know,
thirty year old guys who shoot thirty five percent from
the field.

Speaker 4 (27:40):
You kind of have to play young guys though, No,
that's the thought.

Speaker 2 (27:44):
But when you have you know, you when you bring
in a Kyle Kuzmo, you bring in you know, a
Gary Trent, you know, bring in Gary Harris, Like, these
aren't guys that win.

Speaker 4 (27:54):
Championship, Gary Harris.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
Yeah, they're just guys like there are guys that we're
going to be in fifty years talking to grand kids
like Gary Harris. Yeah he had like one good year
and then nothing after.

Speaker 4 (28:05):
Yeah, you know, well that's good.

Speaker 2 (28:08):
It's a very middle of the team, middle of the
pack team that has one really good player. It kind
of feels like, you know, like a two thousand and
sixteen Packers team. But in the NBA it's you know,
and NFL. I think you can get a little bit
away with you know, having the good quarterback and yeah,
they're just so many you know, more guys, so many
more impact players.

Speaker 4 (28:26):
I should say, right, what.

Speaker 3 (28:30):
We could do if we are bad mid season. I
just think we recreate that Bad Roos team. I know
Nigel Hayes will come. Sam Decker's just had a kid.
He's not doing anything. Frank lit it up in the preseason.
He's still bond right there.

Speaker 2 (28:45):
Not the same team. But the Herd just signed Johnny Davis.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
I did see that. Yeah, Johnny Davis is there. We
got a different Bad Roos team. We've got Brad Davison
back in state though right true for whatever that needs
some defensive guys. He's play quarterback too. I'm not sure
if you heard that before, and that must be.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
Why he's so tough on the court.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
Yeah, Per Baxter in the chat though, you said you
said nightmare for the Kings, he said that about sums
it up.

Speaker 2 (29:14):
Yep. I've been talking about that Kings Dennis Shooter, uh,
Demarta Rosen, Russell Westbrook, Zach Levine. So that's just for Chuck.
That's I like Zach Lavine. I like the Martin Rosen there.
Whoever has the ball in their hand when it comes
down the court, that shot is going up and they
all shoot about like thirty three to like thirty eight

(29:37):
percent from the just say they shoot so many shots
to Manta. Savona's like the only good player there that
that's why you know a spoiler article. It's more spoiler
alert on my article. He's gonna leave the league in
Rebondi because he's gonna get so many off of the
It's just brick after brick after brick.

Speaker 3 (29:51):
Not only are they chucking up shots, none of them
can hit threes either. It's all mid range correct.

Speaker 2 (29:57):
Like they're playing nineties basketball in twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (30:01):
Who's their coach?

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Uh, Doug Christie.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Maybe Doug Christie's there.

Speaker 2 (30:06):
Now either, he's coach on their GM.

Speaker 3 (30:10):
Interesting interesting NBA coaches. That's one of the things where
it's like, I'm not sure if I can name ten
at this point where they are agreed. You mentioned in
your article this is so go read this article on
Thory sports dot Org Again. Luke wrote about six thousand
words predicting the NBA season down to the exact record

(30:31):
for every single team. So definitely go check that out.
You mentioned Adelman as a coach somewhere one where and
two is that Rick Adelman's son, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:42):
David Adelman. So he's at Denver who fired Mike Malone
with like one week left.

Speaker 4 (30:47):
That Malone fired. Is Malone anywhere? No, that feels weird.

Speaker 2 (30:53):
Okay, So this is a guy that when the Bucks
inevitably start, you know, seven and twelve, they fired Rivers
and bringing Mike Malone.

Speaker 4 (31:02):
I don't hate that. I like Mike Malone.

Speaker 2 (31:04):
Yeah, he's a dog man, he gets he gets asses.
It's awesome.

Speaker 4 (31:08):
Thibodeau didn't sign anywhere, right, No, that's that's the Bucks Higher.
I hate that. That's for sure, the Bucks Higher.

Speaker 2 (31:18):
Yeah, shout out. And the Kings just recently got rid
of Mike Brown, who shot out Mike Brown.

Speaker 4 (31:25):
He's at the Knicks or now he's at the Knicks.

Speaker 2 (31:27):
And I think that he's a much better coach for
that next teame than Tom Thibodeau is.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
I mean, we know what Thibodeau is. It's the same
thing everywhere. Yeah, he's gonna be great in the regular season.
He's gonna run his guys into the Brown.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
Yeah, I mean it's yeah, it's it's Rick Patino in
college basketball. It's time his own college. They run guys
too hard.

Speaker 4 (31:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:44):
Yeah, so it's too obvious. But yeah, okay, So any
other of the one words that you want to get
into before we go over.

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Pelicans, I have as beef because I knew I was
talking to you about I wanted to try to incorporate
incorporate some offensive line, and I didn't really think too
hard about this. There's some big guys on like Derek
Queen went to went to New Orleans, who I love.
I love. Yeah, he's like a seven foot, two hundred
and eighty guy who plays like a point guard, which
is incredible to watch. And Zion is there, well, apparently

(32:17):
Zion is in the best shape of his career.

Speaker 4 (32:19):
And I'm the guy who don't even tell me that.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
I'm a guy who fully buys into every single Zion
hype that I ever see, because when he's on the
court he is awesome.

Speaker 4 (32:27):
Sure, yeah, And when he's off the court, he's awesome too,
just in a different way. Yep, he's great. So is
Queen starting alongside him?

Speaker 2 (32:36):
I don't think so. I think it might be a
while before Queen starts, if if he ever starts. They
have Eve's Missy down there, who is not a name
that anybody should know, but he's you know, he's an
eight and ten guy who's not gonna do anything for
New Orleans.

Speaker 3 (32:49):
Sure, sure, okay, Yeah, I like Derek Queen though he
was great march Manness last year.

Speaker 2 (32:54):
Yeah. The other one that you would like is we
talked about it on last week a little bit was
Utah Jazz. I have waiting because what the Utah Jazzs
are doing does not make any sense at all. Like
they're not trading Lori Markinen, who has like incredible value
to get onto a championship contender team, and they're using
like Ace Bailey's a fine draft pick. He didn't want
to go there. The Jazz didn't want him. He didn't
want to be at the Jazz. And while they're Clayton

(33:16):
is awesome, I don't know how much he helps him
in the in the in the short run. Here, I'm
done waiting because Danny Age is the GM and Danny
Aingees got something up as sleeve. I'm letting that man cook.
I'm waiting to see what he's cooking up here.

Speaker 3 (33:26):
Yeah, he's always got a plan. He's gonna make a splash.
That's interesting that they're not trading away somebody. That means, hey,
they're going to trade back for Kelly Olinik. I think
he's not there. Anymore, and they're gonna.

Speaker 1 (33:36):
Make it run.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
Kevin loves there.

Speaker 4 (33:38):
This year really the whitest team around Ace Bailey.

Speaker 2 (33:43):
Yeah, it's the craziest thing ever.

Speaker 3 (33:45):
Has there been any so obviously pre draft, Ace Bailey
was like supposedly or maybe it was just his agent said,
not gonna play there, don't draft me, not gonna play there.
Has there been anything like after he was drafted, Have
they said like, oh, no, just kidding.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
Nope, No, it was just it was just like Dannie,
I'm gonna call your bluff and I'm gonna take you.
There's nothing you can do about it.

Speaker 4 (34:07):
Love that from Danny Ainge. Something's gonna happen there.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
That's what I'm saying. He's cooking something. Something's going on
here in Utah.

Speaker 3 (34:15):
There's I've seen enough History Channel shows, lots of things
are happening. Shout out Skinwalker Ranch. There's another one there.
There's a lot of shit happening over there. Skinwalker Ranch.
By the way, the rich guy who owns it one
is an alien. So they're talking about, Oh, we're these aliens.
Go watch that show. That guy is the Alien's.

Speaker 2 (34:35):
Fun It's I've never seen what we're talking about. But
it sounds like something about my Alley.

Speaker 3 (34:40):
It's an extremely rich alien, skin like skinwalker, like walking
among us. He's a lizard man and he's like, oh yeah,
there's there's these things that we've been seeing and stuff.
And he's just the worst actor of all time, not
because the show's fake, but because he's the alien. It's interesting,
most obvious thing of all time.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Interesting.

Speaker 4 (35:00):
Okay, you said Cavaliers Bill Buffalo Bills. Correct. Yeah, so
you think dominating regular season lose when it matters.

Speaker 2 (35:09):
Yeah, they have a stud Donovan Mitchell. I guess what
I would compare here to to Josh Allen. They have,
you know, the defense that the Bills kind of put
up every year, where it's a solid defense that you
know is gonna win them some games. If if their
star player is not playing up to his full capacity,
they're never gonna make it out of the East. Like
they don't have the killer guy. That's what Donald Mitchell does.
He just loses in the playoffs, which I'm a Donald Mitchell.

(35:30):
I love Donovan Mitchell actually, but I mean they got
ravaged by injuries last year, which I know is not
Donovan Mitchell's fault, but even his time in Utah, Like
he couldn't get past the Nuggets. He's just he's like
the Calves, I think finished top in the East. But
I don't think anyone thinks that the Calves are the
best team in the East, right, So it just feels
like he's never gonna get over there, get over that
that playoff holl.

Speaker 3 (35:52):
So again, I've been tuned out of the NBA for
the past several years. I feel like when I first
or last time I was tuning in, Darius Garland was
like the high Yeah, there's a lot of potential for
this guard or whatever, and I know he's gonna have injuries.

Speaker 4 (36:07):
Is he just like, No, he's a good play what
he is now?

Speaker 2 (36:10):
No, Yeah, he's probably you know, he's probably the when
we're making the All Star Game, he's probably the guy
who's gonna sit at like the twelve, thirteen, fourteen, fifteen,
sixteenth pick in there to be on the East All
Star team. Awesome to a guy. He can score, he
can pass, But I mean he's never gonna be a
number one option on Cleveland. Like I like him on
Cleveland for like, that's the best team that Cleveland's gonna

(36:31):
make to win a championship. But for him, he needs
to be the star player somewhere. I think I think
he's good enough to be a star player somewhere.

Speaker 4 (36:38):
Okay, last CALVS question, is Cheddy Osmond still there?

Speaker 2 (36:41):
Not that I believe.

Speaker 4 (36:43):
Yeah, that sucks.

Speaker 3 (36:44):
Yeah, he's I'm gonna get back into NBA DFS potentially
and DFS. Yeah, he's always a baseline salary guy.

Speaker 4 (36:53):
Who's gonna they get enough.

Speaker 2 (36:55):
Stats for me, like thirty six hundred every time he
put him in and then he gives you, you know,
twenty of points.

Speaker 4 (37:01):
Yeah, most obvious play of all time.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
The other other yeah, the other football one that I
had for you because Nixon and some football talk here.
The heat has the Texans is kind of in. I
don't know if this is right or not. There's probably
a little bit of a reach. Austome defense, not great
on offense.

Speaker 4 (37:20):
Sure, and I assume much worse without Tyler Hero.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
I mean number one score, which I mean I like
Andrew Wiggins, but you know, he's a he's another you know,
he would be great on the Sacramento Kings.

Speaker 4 (37:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (37:39):
I'm not a Wigans guy, but that's because I'm a
Tules guy. So I've seen too much of Andrew Wiggins.
I know what he is? Who's like? Is he he's
the number two there after?

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Yeah, and here's I assume Hero probably comes off the
bench too this year.

Speaker 4 (37:53):
Oh really?

Speaker 2 (37:53):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Okay, yeah, I I'm not sure if I can name it.
I know there's someone named like Jacaz or something on
the heat. I'm not sure if I know Bam had.

Speaker 2 (38:03):
A Biom's gonna be the number one guy for them?

Speaker 4 (38:06):
Sure, okay either, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (38:10):
The other one. That's kind of fun is I'm gonna
I'm gonna list you or list you that a possible
starting lineup for them a retirement homes Clippers. That's not
necessarily a bad thing. It's just that they haven't a
lot of old guys like they have a potential starting
lineup this year of Chris Paul, James Harden, Bradley Beal,
Kawhi there.

Speaker 4 (38:31):
I love that. I didn't know Brooklyn there too, Okay.

Speaker 2 (38:34):
With Nick, Buttom probably mixing in there every now and then.

Speaker 4 (38:37):
Yeah for sure. Yeah, okay, I like that. I'm not you.

Speaker 3 (38:41):
I mean, I'm not even gonna say I'm not a
huge Chris Paul guy. I hate Chris, but that's interesting
Beale went there. Huh did he sign cheap or is
he still like on a minimum good?

Speaker 2 (38:53):
I like the issue, like Houston or Phoenix couldn't trade
him because he had a no trade clause last year.
So I just think one million dollars to do nothing
and then finally the year's over, like get out and
then just sign the minute with the Clippers.

Speaker 4 (39:05):
I like that. Yeah, Clipper. Who's okay? So who is
lou Tyron? Lou there?

Speaker 2 (39:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (39:12):
Okay, there, they'll be good. Yeah, they'll be around.

Speaker 2 (39:15):
Yeah. Yeah. I think they finish as a as a
top five seed. I think they get like wax in
the playoffs because they're just too old, but which is
kind of contradictory to the next team I'm gonna talk
about and then we can move on.

Speaker 4 (39:27):
I got one more team. We'll talk about your team.

Speaker 3 (39:29):
Then we'll do we'll do your predictions in terms of
like top eight, you know, and how you think the
season is going to play out, because we're just on
the Clippers. Is Paul George playing this year for Philly
and is em beat healthy?

Speaker 2 (39:43):
That's part of the reason why you put five That's
why I put five hundred, right, Like if they they
could go five hundred. I think they go five hundred
if they go twenty games over five hundred, and see
if they go twenty games lower than five hundred, I
can see it. It's all about health, you know. I
don't know that Joel and Beid ever plays more than
maybe like fifty games a year. Moving forward, Like, I
think he's just gonna quiet Leonard, you know, load management,

(40:03):
and I think we've seen the best of I think
we've seen what we see in and out of Paul George.

Speaker 4 (40:09):
Is Tyreeks or Tyrese Maxie is he stuid? He's actually legit.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Yeah, I'll be I assume he's gonna be fine, you know,
coming back after the injury. But yeah, he had he
had a fifty point game a couple of years ago.
He's a he's a cool.

Speaker 3 (40:23):
I just because he came out of nowhere, right, Like
that's my basic memory of him. It's like, yeah, and
I thought he was just gonna get replaced, but all
of a sudden, he's like the guy there.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
So he kind of fits into that mold of no
matter who they are, even if they're not really good
in college. I guess it's it might have changed now
that cal Perry's not there, but you just always take
a Kentucky guard. They're always going to be good.

Speaker 4 (40:44):
Sure, I mean, yeah, fair, very fair. So I just
now Arkansas. Yeah, okay, okay, who's your last team?

Speaker 2 (40:54):
Yeah? I was just talking about the Clippers for being old,
that they're gonna like run out of steam. The Warriors
have the oldest starting lineup this year. Sure, And I
love the Warriors. I love Steph Curry, I love Draymond Green,
I love Jimmy Butler. I think they win a series
in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (41:09):
Who's their big man?

Speaker 2 (41:11):
Al Horford is gonna start for him?

Speaker 4 (41:13):
Oh? Yeah, not an Al Horford guy.

Speaker 2 (41:16):
But I'm not an Al Horford guy either, But I'm
a Warriors guy, so I might have to be an
Al Horford guy.

Speaker 4 (41:21):
They'll get somebody else mid season. That seems like something
they'll do.

Speaker 2 (41:25):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (41:25):
I love Jimmy though.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
Yeah, Jimmy Butler might be the best thing to happen
to NBA basketball, like since Jordan left, and it doesn't
get talked about a lot.

Speaker 4 (41:34):
He's just a storyline machine, correct everywhere he goes. Draymond
is too, for better orders.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
He's great, so that might like those are like three,
if you're picking, like, here's the best thing that happened
since Michael Jordan left in terms of just like basketball,
like just entertaining basketball, It's Steph Curry for sure. It's
Draymond Green being like the most hated player of all time,
and the It's Jimmy Butler just being the biggest asshole
of all time but being so fucking good in the playoffs.

Speaker 3 (42:00):
It's say, it's a completely different player, bubble. Jimmy is
one of the greatest of all time. Him in his
interview with Aaron Andrews, yea all practicing dribbling in his
hotel room, just you know, just just getting better.

Speaker 4 (42:15):
Obviously.

Speaker 3 (42:16):
Yeah, Jimmy's the great. Jimmy beating the Timberwolf starting five
with the backups is one of the greatest stories of
all time.

Speaker 2 (42:24):
It's the greatest story, like outside of even sport, Like
it's just such a good story. He hate him so
much that he and then to call like, you know,
the third team, like I had these bums that I
just beat with you, you know.

Speaker 4 (42:37):
Didn't you do? Like a Sports Center interview that's where he's, yeah,
so fucking funny. He is so good and he I'm
not sure if you know, I mean, I assume you
know the conspiracy theory. I am very confident he's Michael
Jordan's son.

Speaker 2 (42:51):
Yeah, there's a it's a very big possibility.

Speaker 4 (42:54):
Yeah, it seems too obvious to not be true.

Speaker 2 (42:59):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (43:00):
The most obvious answer is usually the correct one. And
Jimmy Butler maybe that's why Michael Jordan's gonna start calling games.
He's gonna drop a little nugget about.

Speaker 2 (43:07):
That true one more for Toronto. I had Canada just
because Toronto is in Canada, and I don't really care
about the Raptors, and I don't think anybody on Earth
cares about the Raptors.

Speaker 4 (43:19):
No, yeah, not really.

Speaker 3 (43:22):
I think feel like the Raptors are always a at
least lately or like a solid team.

Speaker 4 (43:26):
There's sort of a just a nuisance.

Speaker 2 (43:27):
Yeah, they'll be playing, you know, they'll they'll finish seven
to twelve somewhere in there with voute a five hundred
to maybe a little bit lower than five hundred record.
They'll give. They'll have a team a good series, but
they're just not good enough to win.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
Okay, let's talk about your playoff predictions. And there's one
thing you wrote six thousand words, you wrote a lot,
you did a lot. There's one thing your article is
missing that just popped into my mind, and it's pretty
much the only thing I care about. So we'll talk
about that. We'll talk about that first actually and be
a cut.

Speaker 2 (43:58):
Oh yeah, I know. I was writing it up last
night and as soon as I hit some Mid'm like,
I forgot the NBA.

Speaker 4 (44:04):
Cup, biggest event of the year.

Speaker 2 (44:06):
But I think that's part of the charm of the
NBA Cup.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
It's it always creeps up on you. You'd never remember
it's happening until you see the court, honestly.

Speaker 2 (44:14):
Right, You turn on the TV and you're like, why
is the court right? Oh, the NBA Cup. That's fun,
and then you don't care about it at all.

Speaker 4 (44:20):
So with it. Obviously, there's too many problems with the NBA. Yep,
now that we can't watch games, we can't even watch
the fucking NBA Cup shit either. I watch like it's
gonna be as if it doesn't exist whatsoever.

Speaker 2 (44:36):
Right, So I follow like every single NBA Cup to
like a t every game and everything. I still don't
really understand how it affects the finals record, Like the
record at the end.

Speaker 4 (44:45):
Of the year, it's just regular games, and then if
it did well during this couple days a week in
the span, then you also get some money.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
Yeah, but some of them count, some of them don't
count somewhere exhibition, but you get to play more games
and other teams. But that doesn't really feel fair.

Speaker 4 (45:05):
I think they all count except for the championship game.

Speaker 2 (45:08):
Which feels like only the championship games should count.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
I agree, yeah, right, yes, yeah, yeah, it makes no sense.
And then they had Richard Jefferson explained it to us,
telling us, you gotta watch out for the wild card.
I remember that, you know, like, okay, rich yeah that
I love the NBA Cup for whatever it is. And
I thought they were gonna like debut it understand, like,

(45:32):
oh yeah, we dropped the ball in these areas and
then perfect it.

Speaker 4 (45:36):
Completely. Okay, so we got that figured out. Let's throw
that back there. Now, let's figure out the rest of
our game.

Speaker 2 (45:41):
You know what, we'll fix this, go into four All
Star teams instead of two.

Speaker 4 (45:45):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (45:46):
That's gotta be it. We really just gotta nail down
the All Star that's the only thing we're focused on.
That's insane, that's true. The only changes to the NBA
over the past four years it's just All Star related
and it just gets worse.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
The worst the one this year.

Speaker 3 (46:02):
They're like, let's just put all of our attention. We
don't even want you watching anything else but the All Stars.
So taking it off a TV, we watch you all
to watch the All Star so you can all submit
your ideas because we've got to figure this out for
next year.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
Yep. The Slam Dunk Contest is an incredible thing. That is,
you know, kind of fell off the cliff a little bit.
There's it's kind of working its way back. The three
point contest is awesome. The skills competition I can do
without now. They they've nerved that thing so much. I mean,
you be able to have to hit a three, you know,
hit a bounce pass, all this stuff that wasn't a
huge target yet it was you know, I think there's
a time where Jason Williams like couldn't physically make a pass, uh,

(46:37):
like a normal bounces. But the thing that they and
I know we talk about this, but the best thing
that they took away was the shooting the skills where
you have the NBA player, the old guy and the
w NBA. Pl Yes, it all last mid range of
three and a half quarter. Yes, like such a good thing.

Speaker 4 (46:54):
Nobody wants to watch the players now. I want to
see Dirk come back for Dallas. I want Dirk Cooper flag.

Speaker 2 (47:03):
Dallas Wings.

Speaker 4 (47:04):
True.

Speaker 3 (47:04):
Yeah, that would be perfect, That would get people to watch.
I don't need to see Steph Curry do a three
point shootout against some w NBA player this year. I
don't care. It does not matter. Yeah dumb, But you
know what, maybe maybe they cracked the coat this year.
Maybe they got to figure it out. And All Star
Game I think, is in LA. So two things I

(47:27):
know for sure. One Snoop Dog is going to beat there,
and two, I mean all the feat Maybe Lebron's gonna
have as big I'm coming back. Maybe I'll run it back.
I don't know, He'll have something big there.

Speaker 2 (47:39):
If it's n thing, that is going to be an
incredible Skip Bayle this weekend.

Speaker 4 (47:44):
True true. Just Skip should be one of the judges
for the Dunk Contest too.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
That's another thing I'm going to add to Like the
best thing since Jordan is Skip Baile is like really
get into the mainstream.

Speaker 3 (47:56):
Yeah, yeah, he's been maybe maybe it's just me, Maybe
he's just not in my algorithm. I feel like he's
been quiet lately. But yeah since the allegations.

Speaker 2 (48:06):
Yeah yeah, true. Did you see this? Not to like
totally excite the conversation, but just talking about Skip Bails.
Him and his wife have like a channel, a YouTube
channel where they like discuss like anything, and like skip
Bals is like a pretty high profile guy, right, people
like listen to skip baylist. Their videos get like seventy views.

Speaker 4 (48:25):
Really yeah, I forget what.

Speaker 2 (48:26):
It's called, but it's something like him and his wife
sit down and talk about just random shit.

Speaker 4 (48:32):
Interesting. Yeah I did not know that.

Speaker 2 (48:34):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (48:35):
He also I believe has a show on Underdogs Network
now too. Hell yeah with I think with Gilbert Arenos,
who for some reason is the most popular NBA guy
and just.

Speaker 2 (48:48):
Says the most like people hate just crucified Paul Pierce
for saying that those Celtics scenes were better than Lebron.
I don't know why people having cruise fi Gilbert Arenas yet.
I love but what some of the stuff he said
is crazy.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
Yeah, he's it. Yeah, I like him too. I like
Rashad McCants. We need to have more him every other
Carolina boy. Yeah, one of my favorite t Wolves of
all time. Yep, okay, so again. Go to flooresports dot org.

Speaker 3 (49:12):
The Ultimate twenty twenty five, twenty six NBA season preview predictions,
best bets and more from Luke Lots of stuff. Starts
out with a bunch of storylines for the season. He
has his game by game kind of he's got the
full season standings predictions, so the exact record he's predicting
everyone to finish with.

Speaker 4 (49:33):
Go check that out. Jazz last, No.

Speaker 2 (49:36):
I know, I am. I don't like that. I'm waiting, okay, waiting.

Speaker 4 (49:44):
I feel like it's gotta be Trailblazers.

Speaker 2 (49:45):
But it's gonna be funny too when the Jazz finished
last and they like end up with a seventh pick again,
kind of like what happens to the Bulls every year.

Speaker 3 (49:53):
True, true, unless another Derek Crows comes around, right, Okay,
So Eastern Conference, we're just gonna go over. I'm gonna
read who you have as your top eight seeds and
you can just sort of talk about what you think
is going to happen, what your predictions are on the
Eastern Conference side. Teams to watch for players to watch

(50:13):
for who's your favorite, who could be the dark horse potentially,
So your top eight on the East, you have the
Cleveland Cavaliers, who you labeled as the Buffalo Bills. You
have the Atlanta Hawks, I think as your sleeper team.
You got the New York Knicks, Detroit Pistons, Orlando Magic,
Milwaukee Bucks, Philadelphia seventy six ers, and then the Celtics

(50:34):
as the eight seed. There obviously more teams make the
playoffs technically because that playing tournament, but out of that
top eight, tell me about it.

Speaker 4 (50:43):
What do you think is going to happen on this side?

Speaker 2 (50:44):
I think, as we touch based on right, I think
they're a great regular season team. I think they get
a matchup with the Boston Celtics, who there without Tatum
this year. Again, nobody's really talking about the NBA off season,
which I understand. Celtics are still a fine team with Otatum,
Jaalen Brown awesome, and they're just gonna jack threes and
they're gonna hit you know, there's gonna some games where
they're gonna hit twenty to twenty five threes. So I

(51:05):
think they sink in that way. I don't think that's
really sustainable way. You kind of need to go to
got to take over the playoffs. I think the Cats
can kind of suck suffocate them in the first round
again in one game just because maybe they hit, you know,
they go for a twenty three three game or something.
I like Derek a lot. I think he's a stud.
I don't like him as a buck sand but as
a basketball player, he's a stud.

Speaker 4 (51:23):
He's good.

Speaker 2 (51:23):
Atlanta Hawks they're my sleeper team. Quinn Snyder is a dog.
He gets right up in your ass. Chris Yeah, scary dude,
skeleton looking guy. Chris Asporzingis is there? Who that pick
and pop a Tray Young is gonna be awesome to watch.
They have Jalen Johnson, Wisconsin guy who's who's a good

(51:45):
you know three. He's a good scorer and defensive guy.
They brought him Lukenard to kind of run the point.
Who like think Luke Nard's like top five all time
in NBA three point shooting percentage. Quietly yeah. Zachary Rishia
Say is their first pick last year, who everyone said
is like the first pick in NBA history. He was
awesome in the year nobody really watched Hawks basketball, so

(52:05):
that you know, I get it and then Jyson Daniels
is you know in this article not that they're the
same size. He reminds me of Quiet Leonard when when
Kui was with with the Spurs, just a long armed
freak who just deflects every single ball, throwing like all
over the court.

Speaker 4 (52:18):
Where did he play college?

Speaker 2 (52:20):
Kentucky? Okay, three steals a game last last year? First
time in thirty years? Is someone got three seals a game?

Speaker 3 (52:27):
That's wild? Actually, that's crazy. Persingis is the expectation that
he can like be available?

Speaker 2 (52:37):
Yeah he was availab last year. I think he played
seventy something games last year?

Speaker 4 (52:40):
Was he okay? Yeah, okay, cool, he's.

Speaker 2 (52:41):
Been he's been relatively healthy. Like when Boston won the championship,
he was healthy. Last year. He was healthy. You know
his body hasn't give up on him yet.

Speaker 4 (52:50):
Okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (52:51):
See that's like the type of stuff that I fully
miss checked out for a couple of years because last
time its not perzingis. It's like, okay, he's never going
to be on the court regularly.

Speaker 2 (53:00):
Yep. I have them over the seventy six ers in
four games, Like again, this is the sixteen I said
five hundred like, I don't know that you're ever going
to get any consistency out of Philadelphia. I don't think
that they're gonna have any cohesion all year because guys
are just gonna keep coming in and out. I think
they have You're good enough to make the playoffs, but
not good enough to win a game in the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (53:19):
They're also just weirdly terrible on the road usually correct. Yeah,
if they're not, if they don't have EMBIID for enough
regular season games, they're not gonna have home court advantage.
So yeah, makes sense.

Speaker 2 (53:33):
I have the Knicks back. The Knicks are so back, man,
and maybe find the hype. I think the NBA is
a much better place when the New York Knicks are good,
because that's that's an incredible fan base and they're you know,
they're one of the most delusional fan bases, which shout
out to them. They've gone through a lot of music.
Like the New York Knicks should in the NBA should
be what the New York Yankees are in baseball, Like
they should just dominate. New York City is just the

(53:53):
basketball mecca. I've been beating the Bucks again. I talked
about the Bucks the next have an awesome starting lineup.
Jileen Bruns is a stud. Josh Hart is awesome. Cal
Bridges is awesome. I'm not a fan of Cat, but
he's a He's actually a pretty good basketball player. Oh,
j Ananoby's a stud too. They have a stud starting
and I think Mike Brown, like I said, is a

(54:13):
better coach for them than Thibodeau running them into the ground.

Speaker 4 (54:17):
Sure.

Speaker 2 (54:18):
I do think get one though, just because if Giannat
plays been the issue with the Bucks in the playoffs.
He's such a good player that he can he can
get one by himself.

Speaker 4 (54:24):
Yeah, feels like he's never gonna get swept right.

Speaker 2 (54:28):
And the last one it's my only I guess upset.
I have the Magic over the Pistons Like I like
the Pistons a lot. I like Kate Cannon him. Yeah,
the Magic is a five seed and the Pistons is
the four seed. Pistons made some some noise last year.
I think Fembuember did one playoff series. If not, they
went to seven. Magic are an interesting spot. I had

(54:49):
them as the word of Crossroads. It just feels like
a really like this Magic team is gonna be good
or I don't even like this Magic team is nothing.
I'm having Stock and Paula Ben Carrol because I hate him.
He's a duke guy. He's talking about Roy Williams after
cab Love killed Mike Kruschsky. But I like this to
make up their line up team. I think there's a

(55:10):
seven game series that's not really that interesting, but you
know it. You know, it's not Lakers Warriors or anything,
but it'll be a fun series to watch.

Speaker 4 (55:17):
Who's the Pistons coach.

Speaker 2 (55:20):
It's JB. Bickerstaff. I believe.

Speaker 4 (55:23):
Oh interesting. I didn't understand.

Speaker 2 (55:28):
That.

Speaker 4 (55:29):
They're kind of yeah, let's just call him relevant. I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (55:32):
Last year they came in and they came into the
East is like I think it was a four or
five seed, somewhere right around that middle, maybe even in
the sixth seed, and everyone's like, oh, they're nothing. You know,
it's the Pistons. We don't have to worry about them.
And they made a good run. So like this is
kind of like the oh they're up and up and
coming here, you're.

Speaker 4 (55:49):
Okay, and they do they still have is it? Isaiah Stewart, Yeah,
everybody awesome, Okay. I like him.

Speaker 2 (55:57):
He's trying to trying to fight. Lebron is incredible.

Speaker 3 (56:00):
Yes, no one whether it's he's so dumb that he
does it or whatever it is, but no one else
is doing it.

Speaker 2 (56:07):
I love that just doesn't give a fuck.

Speaker 4 (56:09):
No, he just swings. Yeah everybody, Yeah, big fan.

Speaker 2 (56:15):
Okay. So then second round, Cleveland over Magic. I don't
think that's a close series to have to go on them both.
I think Cleveland is much better than Orlando. And then
the nixt the Hawks, I mean seven, I think that's
gonna be an awesome series. Those are two very fun
teams that are gonna be fun teams to watch. Light
by two awesome point guards. And that's kind of The
Knicks get the revenge on Trey Young Nick than you know,
Despine after we did Jim a couple of years in

(56:37):
the playoffs. So that'll be fun just to hear all
the I love Trey Young, but to hear all the
Knick changes, like going for Trey Young's neck is gonna
be great.

Speaker 3 (56:45):
So looking at you know, for so long it's been
the East is just a dumpster fire. Like whoever makes
is probably gonna suck. Maybe there's one good team.

Speaker 4 (56:55):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (56:55):
The Celtics obviously are down without Tatum, because then there's
more storylines and my competitive basketball over there is the
expectation that the West is so much better than the East.

Speaker 2 (57:04):
Still it is the West has better teams in the East.
I don't think the East like people talk about the
East like it's like Atlantic ten basketball or something like
the East. It's not a bad conference. Just the West
is so much more loaded than the East.

Speaker 3 (57:17):
Sure, Okay, so we're not thinking, like, go and bet
Western conference to win the championship, like it's for sure,
Like whoever the East team is, they'll actually have a chance.

Speaker 2 (57:26):
You think, put up a little bit of a fight.
I like, I think I think the championship comes out
of the West. But like I have the spoiler of
the Knicks the championship. I think the next put up
a fight, not gonna win.

Speaker 3 (57:35):
But okay, fair if the Knicks are in the finals,
that's like that can be understated how good that is
for the NBA correct, which probably means that's not it
is the NBA Finals gonna be televised, We know that.

Speaker 2 (57:50):
I don't know. I don't know, man, I just I
think I think it's a day by day basis on
how I watch the NBA this year. I just have
to figure it out every single day in the morning.

Speaker 4 (58:00):
That's it feels like mac football. Correct, when is the game?
Where is the game?

Speaker 2 (58:07):
Oh?

Speaker 4 (58:07):
It was yesterday? Okay, I forgot.

Speaker 2 (58:09):
If games it started raining during the games, I wouldn't
be surprised. I don't think.

Speaker 4 (58:13):
Oh at this point, who the hell knows? Okay, Eastern
Conference Championship? Is that where we are?

Speaker 2 (58:19):
Yeah? I have Knicks over Calves. I talked with. I
don't think Dono Mitchell and the Calves can get over
the hump. I think the Knicks are actually a better team.
I have the Cavs finishing as a one and the
Knicks is the three. But as a I think as
a collective, the Knicks have more playoff risers, more superstars,
more dogs on their team, and I think they beat
the Calves. And I think it's kind of a discipline
year for the Calves, right, But I don't think that

(58:39):
they change anything in the offseason and they try to
run it back again.

Speaker 4 (58:44):
Okay, sounds good. On the west side. Then starting at
number one, you have the Thunder, you have the Nuggets
at two, you have the Rockets with Kevin Durant at three,
Timberwolves at four, the Old Clippers at five, Old Warriors
at six, Lakers you have at seven, and then you
have Cooper Flag and the MAVs at eight. What's your

(59:08):
thoughts on this side of the bracket.

Speaker 2 (59:11):
Oklahoma City is just such a wagon right now, like
they bring They're like, bring their whole team back. They're LB.
They getting your ass. They play physical. Jake Gilgise Alexander.
Whether you're like or not, he's going to the free
throw line. He's making free throws, He's scoring points. I'm
a chet Holmgren guy. People hate check Holmgren. I love
chet Holgren. I think he's a stud. Jialen Williams is
the top fifteen player in the NBA.

Speaker 4 (59:31):
Louse that surprises me. I have no idea who this
guy is.

Speaker 2 (59:34):
Out of Santa Clara last year, it was really kind
of his coming out. He's an incredible two way player
who can just score from anywhere, and you know he's
Oklahoma City is a team that fouls every time they
play defense, but they follow so good that you can't
call it. They just they get into your, you know,
team's heads and get them out of their rhythm. Jill
Wins is a stud both ways, and then Lou Dor.

(59:55):
I would hate to be If there's one player other
than Patrick Beverly that I would hate to be guarded by,
it's Lou Dor. He's gonna give you. I mean, he's
a Dorchter Chamber. He's going to give you, you know, ninety
four feet of hell.

Speaker 3 (01:00:06):
Love that he's the PJ Tucker of the thunder Threes.
PJ Tucker shut down Kevin Durant as he went for
thirty five.

Speaker 2 (01:00:15):
Craziest thing I've ever seen Mavericks, I think. I so
if you read this, it sounds like I'm a Mavericks
fan by what you read this, and I hate that.
I'm like cheering on Cooper Flag because he's a Duke guy,
and I hate it. I was. I was a hate
watch all year for Duke last year. Cooper Flag is
an absolute stud. We talked about it before the draft.
I think he's the best ready prospect since Lebron, even

(01:00:36):
more than Victor. He's gonna come in, He's gonna I
think he handles the ball a little bit in Kyrie's absence.
Him and Anthony Davis are just gonna be an incredible
defensive duo. And I think that defense gets some you know,
I think they'll probably get Kyrie back before the playoffs,
so I think they get some fire power heading into
the playoffs.

Speaker 4 (01:00:50):
Expected that long at least.

Speaker 2 (01:00:52):
Half the year is what I read this morning, which
I think it's a little bit more because I mean
it's it's an a cl tear. But yeah, I think
they get to the playoffs. I think they can win
a game against Oklahoma City, maybe get him on an
off night or something, but Oklahoma City wins, wins a
series handily.

Speaker 4 (01:01:10):
Okay, is.

Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
Like, does Dallas have like spacing whatsoever? Like when I
think of Dallas right now, I just think of Anthony
Davis and Cooper Flag.

Speaker 4 (01:01:20):
I don't really know anything else there.

Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Clay Thompson's running the two?

Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
Is that good?

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Yeah, I mean he could. Clay Thompson is not like
Warriors Klay Thompson, but he's not a bombman. He'll he'll,
he'll give you I'm sure he shoots. He probably shoots
forty one percent from three this year gives you, you know,
twelve to sixteen points a game plays fine for Himber
defense and Danel Russell is gonna run point for him
to start the year. Who he can create space on
his own, he can hit shots, and he can pass.

(01:01:48):
Just a turnstyle on defense. But when you have Cooper
Flag and Anthony Davis, you don't have to worry about
defense at your point position.

Speaker 4 (01:01:53):
Sure did not know he was there. Okay, that makes sense.

Speaker 2 (01:01:56):
Yep. So that'll be interesting when Kyrie comes back, and
he'll probably either six man I would guess which which
would be. Yeah, that's I mean, he's he's a microwave
off the bench, I guess, and I can.

Speaker 3 (01:02:07):
Only assume, and I don't know where he is, so
it could be something stupid to say, but I feel
like Spencer Dinwick, he's gonna find his way back.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
I think I believe is with the AAU Charlotte Hornets.

Speaker 3 (01:02:20):
Oh well, look for a mid season trade. He will
be on the Mavericks. That this is a guarantee. Just
someone who knows nothing. I don't even know who Jalen
Williams is for the Thunders.

Speaker 2 (01:02:30):
So yeah, so Denver is my is my it's I
think they're right number two team in the NBA. They
got rid of Michael Porter Jr. Who we all know this.

Speaker 4 (01:02:41):
I hate that dude.

Speaker 2 (01:02:42):
Yeah, and they bringing Cam Johnson who maybe I'm a
little biased. He's the Carolina guy, but he can hit threes,
he can play defense. The possession is not going to
stop in his hands. You can actually get Jokic to
do like what Yokic wants, whatever he wants. I have
them over the Lakers because I just love seeing Jamal
Murray have big shots in the Lakers. It's one of
my favor things to hate watch. And I don't like

(01:03:03):
the Lakers. I'll say it. I hate Lebron. I like Luca.
I just hate Lebron, and I don't know, oh.

Speaker 4 (01:03:09):
Well, even as my absolute basic are you okay?

Speaker 2 (01:03:14):
Yeah? Sorry, I was getting a call, I'm in.

Speaker 4 (01:03:15):
Oh okay, even like my basic knowledge of these two teams,
like the Nuggets, that feels like it's Jamal Murray and
Jokic right in the playoffs and Lakers are built the
exact opposite way to stop that correct.

Speaker 2 (01:03:28):
Lakers have an issue right now that nobody really talks
about because he's like people just love to like get
on their news for him. Lebron James is making like
fifty two million dollars this year. You're paying a forty
one year old fifty two million dollars was probably not
gonna play you know, half the season, and we're expecting
them to win a championship. Like I'm I feel like
I'm the only one who's like realizing that this doesn't work.

Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
No, I've I mean, I don't think so I hopefully
everybody understands that I'm not sure.

Speaker 2 (01:03:57):
And so they're big Obfoselyson movie. You bring DeAndre Ayton,
who is like the softest player in NBA history, who
none of his suits have ever liked, like, oh, this
will fix this will remedy our center position that we
haven't found since you know, they got a Mickey Mouse championship.

Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
Right, but Bronni is still there.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
I assume it's the most manufactured thing ever that Lebron's like, oh, yeah,
I got to play with my son. You forced him to,
you know, get through the NBA so you could do this.

Speaker 4 (01:04:24):
Yeah, he doesn't even like basketball, Lebron.

Speaker 2 (01:04:26):
Right, Bronni would be like a probably a starter as
a rookie this year if he got another year at
Duquanne in college to develop his three point shot, to
develop scoring. But no, Lebron wanted a cool moment. So
I guess whoop he fucking do?

Speaker 3 (01:04:38):
Who retires? First Lebron or Bronni. No shit, I don't know.
Question for the Nuggets. One of the only things I
know about last season. If they start the year, let's say,
let's say ten and twenty got pretty disappointing, do they
fire their head coach and go a head coach list.

Speaker 2 (01:04:59):
Again, I don't think so, because this the Thunder. They
brought the Thunder to seven games last year, Like they
got killed in Game seven. The Nuggets got killed in
Game seven, but they brought him to Game seven. Like
that's more than anyone else can say, Like, I think
this nuggas matches up well with the Thunder, and no,
I think you're right. You you have Jokach on your team.

(01:05:19):
I don't think you make anything drastic. Now, That's what
I said about Mike Malone, and I thought it was
fucking crazy that they fired him. But I think David
Adaman didn't fine, and he gets it off season to
kind of put pieces where he wants and really get
a system in which is not gonna that different than
Mike Maloney's the assistant under.

Speaker 4 (01:05:32):
Him, he was there during that whole Yeah, they.

Speaker 2 (01:05:35):
Brought him up, So yeah, I think he's fine. I
think I'm so, I'm really I love the Nuggets this year,
Like this is a year if they won the championship
might be a top five you come of the top
five player in NBA history, Like this is a Yolkic
Legacy championship.

Speaker 3 (01:05:52):
He's very good. Yeah, he's also he's another one of
those people. He's very good for the NBA. They should
poke him more correct, make him talk, irritate him, make
him disgruntled into a microphone whenever you can. Yep, just great, yep,
and start to see. They should be doing Netflix documentaries

(01:06:13):
where it's like Jokicch's farm and have them to like,
that's that's what the NBA should do.

Speaker 2 (01:06:18):
Yeah. Yeah, lean into some of the like Yokic has
a personality. He's just never gonna show it. You got
to figure out how to get it out.

Speaker 3 (01:06:25):
Jokic loves life when it's not basketball. I don't think
he loves basketball. Correct, it's a yeah, it's the end
to a mean or whatever.

Speaker 2 (01:06:34):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:06:35):
He he he's making enough money so he can retire
and live his life, which is good.

Speaker 4 (01:06:39):
That's great.

Speaker 2 (01:06:40):
The the next series I have is my upset. This
is the this is the one that most discuided about
this probably doesn't hit, but I again, I talked about
how I love the Warriors. I love Steph Curry is
on my favorite players of all time. Kevin Durant might
be my favorite player that's not a buck of all time.
I have them. I have the Warriors upsetting the Rockets.
I think Draymond Green is can getting anybody's head, and

(01:07:01):
he's already gotten Kevin durant S head before. And I'm
In Thompson, who's a stud for the Rockets. He's probably
the most athletic guy in the NBA. He's either gonna
guard Steph for Jimmy Butler, which means the other one
is just gonna, you know, get free buckets in the playoffs.
The Rockets. Have you seen their starting lineup? It's six
seven Kevin Durant's playing the two on opening night?

Speaker 4 (01:07:21):
Really, yeah, six.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
Seven, six eleven, six eleven seven foot seven foot or
something like that.

Speaker 4 (01:07:28):
It's crazy.

Speaker 2 (01:07:29):
I'm In Thompson is who we talked about, Kevin Durants
playing the two, Jabari Smith is playing the three, Sen
Gooon is playing the four, and Steven Adams. I'm sure
you're a Steven Adams guy, he's.

Speaker 4 (01:07:39):
Playing, he's there. Interesting, So a four okay.

Speaker 2 (01:07:48):
No, I mean he's a five. He's a five anybody.
But he's gonna be at the four, okay?

Speaker 4 (01:07:53):
Sure? Is that why? Though? Is just because that's the
roster makeup after injuries and stuff.

Speaker 2 (01:07:59):
Or Yvanva towards a cls out for the year. So
I thought they were re Shepherd in, but I think
that they want to see a little bit more of
him off the bench first. And I'm on, I'm and
Thompson can handle the ball, and why not throw Duran
at the two? That's fun?

Speaker 4 (01:08:13):
I mean, I like it.

Speaker 3 (01:08:13):
I'm sure it'll be matchup specific. But the more we
can get Steven Adams on the floor.

Speaker 2 (01:08:18):
Good correct And another reason I take the Warriors over them.
I'm never gonna doell Jimmy Butler in the playoffs. I've
done it before and then I learned real quick and
I will never once again tellt Jimmy Butler.

Speaker 4 (01:08:28):
Is again when I tuned out versus now where I'm
at now has and I think he just got paid kaminga.
Is he he really good? Or wait and.

Speaker 2 (01:08:39):
See, disgruntle they paid him. I think he's fine now,
Steve Curr's got this weird thing where he just doesn't
play Kamena in the playoffs, like Cominia is just an.
I think he's an awesome basketball player. He's a perfect
for the Worrist team to just get to the who
plays some good defense, get the rebound, get the ball
to Steph and hit you know, hit the middle injuring
Steph is not shooting. Steve Steve Kerfer whateverything, didn't play him.
Maybe they have some money he'll give. It's a little

(01:09:00):
bit more incentive to play him. So I'm excited to
see that. You'll come off the bench for him, probably
their sixth seventh man.

Speaker 4 (01:09:06):
Okay, maybe he just views him as Jason Tatum and
he can't play him. Is that team USA all over?

Speaker 2 (01:09:12):
That was fun.

Speaker 4 (01:09:14):
It was very fun.

Speaker 2 (01:09:15):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
And maybe maybe Jayson Tatum didn't play because he's not
the best player. But that's just me, who knows.

Speaker 4 (01:09:21):
Okay, number four, I'm assuming that this is where the
tea bowls are.

Speaker 2 (01:09:24):
Yeah, and I don't I decided I don't care anything
about the Tim Rolds. I like Guleislandel, I like Dante Vincenzo,
I like Jade McDaniels. Not a Rudy Gobert guy. I
think he's still a fine player. I like Anthony Edwards.
I'm in love with Anthony Edwards. He's such an incredible
basketball player. He's another goal. He's a guy who I
think leads the m being three pointers this year. There's

(01:09:45):
good value on that, like plus four or something. He shot.
I think it was like thirty nine percent on twelve attempts.
That gets you know that he's that's been going up
every year since his rook yere. That's going to go
up to fifteen attempts this year shooting threes. It feels
like that's a lock for four or most threes made.
He is such a killer. He's so fun to watch.
He might be the most fun player in the league
to watch. And I'm not a Clippers guy. I mean

(01:10:06):
James Harden. I hate the Clippers. I think they play
a little brother the Lakers, and they need to buy
into that rather than think that they're better than the Lakers.
I like Jims Harden. I hate Chris Paul. I like
Anthony Edwards. Give me, give me the Timberwolves five.

Speaker 3 (01:10:18):
It's not if the Clippers will lose, it's when because
they have Chris Paul, He's not gonna go anywhere.

Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
Yep. Another very fun thing about the NBA's Chris Pall
versus Scott Foster.

Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
Right, yeah, it never ends well for him at least. Also,
t Wills to have nas Reid, which love Will's fans
are obsessed with. Yet I still don't fully understand the
bit because I haven't tuned in enough. But every Vikings
game there's nas Reid signs there. Wherever you go, there's
a nas Reid sign everybody.

Speaker 2 (01:10:48):
I don't really understand the bit. If it's a boat
of basketball thing. He's a really good basketball player, but
he mean he's not like you know, he's not like
a level I don't know. He's good.

Speaker 3 (01:10:57):
Yeah, he's fine, even like not Minnesota's stuff. Every once
in a while you see a nas Reid sign.

Speaker 4 (01:11:02):
H Yeah, I don't love it. Yeah for it, Yeah,
for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:11:07):
Second round Oklahoma City continues to roll. I think Timber rolls,
give him, give him a fight, but I think I
think they roll over them, and Nuggets roll over the Warriors.
The Warriors are just don't matched.

Speaker 3 (01:11:18):
Yeah, at that point, is this this is the same
rematch of the Western Conference Finals.

Speaker 4 (01:11:23):
Last year, right, Okay, Oh no Timbers did they? Okay?

Speaker 2 (01:11:31):
Who timberwlls?

Speaker 4 (01:11:33):
Obviously No, No Nuggets. Thunderplayed.

Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
Thunder beat the Timberwolves in the conference.

Speaker 4 (01:11:39):
Finals, right, I mean to get there. Who did the
I'm trying.

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
To think war Was it the Warriors? It might have
been the Warriors because war Yeah, Timberrowls beat the Lakers
in the first round, Warriors beat the Rockets, and I
think Timbers beat the Warriors. I believe.

Speaker 3 (01:11:56):
Okay, Okay, I like that. Yeah, I think, uh you
say it in the article. I've heard it from various
people as well, like Anthony Edwards is trying trying to
push him as the next one.

Speaker 4 (01:12:07):
I think they have interesting.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
That's what you have to hit your wagon too. He's
such a good personality. He's an old school personality and
a new school player.

Speaker 3 (01:12:17):
Yes, I love the interview before the season. He's just said,
if the game ever gets out of hand, he's just
going to try to go for a career high this year. Yep,
that's the mindset change. He's just gonna pour it on
every game. Must watch.

Speaker 2 (01:12:28):
Yeah, he's an all time video of him talking shit
to Barack Obama about how he's the best player in
the It's great.

Speaker 4 (01:12:33):
Yeah, he doesn't care who the hell you are. Every
person's an enemy to Anthony Everard.

Speaker 2 (01:12:37):
Ye, the stone face of that he can beat Michael
Jordan on in one on one is incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:12:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:12:43):
Beating the Lakers in the playoffs last year and then
walking the streets of La talking ship great, so good. God, Yeah,
he's great. We need him and Butler on the same team,
but I get.

Speaker 2 (01:12:54):
It, yep. And then finals Nuggets over Thunder. I think
this has potential to be like one of the greatest
playoff series of all time. These are by far the
two best teams, maybe the two best players between Shay
and Jokic. But this is I mean, like I said,
this is a Yokic legacy season. This is where he
really established Like, yeah, I might be I am the
best center in NBA history.

Speaker 4 (01:13:15):
Sure, he's I'm gont this point. Yeah, And you said
it went to seven last year between those two.

Speaker 2 (01:13:22):
Yeah, I went to seven. I think the Thunder like
killed like thirty ball of them in Game seven.

Speaker 3 (01:13:28):
Okay, okay, makes sense they would run that back then.
It feels like even just outside looking and it feels
like those are the two best teams in the.

Speaker 2 (01:13:37):
League yep, yep, and then championship, but Nuggets over Nicks
and six. You know, I think Knicks fans kind of
get their hearts ripped out. But again, like I said,
it's it's the Nuggets. It's the Nuggets championship to lose
for for my money.

Speaker 4 (01:13:51):
Makes sense, makes sense.

Speaker 3 (01:13:53):
I mean, yeah, I'm actually excited there's some good teams
popping up. It doesn't feel like anyone though, even and
saying Thunder and Nuggets are the two best teams. I
don't think anyone goes crazy this year, do you think, Like,
I don't think it's like I think there's parody around
the league.

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
Yeah, the most part, Yeah, I don't think that. Like
I think the craziest thing that we get is the
Hawks being good. And again I don't really think that
that's crazy, Like it's crazy because it's the Atlanta Hawks.
When you sit down and look at like their team
makeup and their coach and you know, the guy that
the kind of what we've seen in like the last
couple of years, Like it feels like the Hawks are
a playoff team and I think, you know, if things
work that they're a top three seed in the East.

Speaker 3 (01:14:31):
So if you had to pick one letdown team, I'm
just looking at teams projected to miss the playoffs, would
you think Grizzlies. So I'm not sure like where.

Speaker 2 (01:14:41):
Grizzlies for sure? Jum ranted. I don't think it's totally
healthy yet. I think I think he misses. He starts
the year ty Jeromler, who was awesome with the Cavs
in the playoff last year, is gonna be their six man.
I think he just went down and it's gonna be
you know, it's gonna be a month for him to
come back. I like, I think the easy answer is Lakers, right,
They're just just because there's so much hyper ab them
every year. But that kind of feels like a copoat.

(01:15:01):
I guess Milwaukee. I don't have any faith in Milwaukee,
But again, it doesn't feel like anyone has any faith
in Milwaukee. So I don't know how big of a
let town is.

Speaker 3 (01:15:08):
There any chance there's a mid season Gianna's trade, if
it's bad enough.

Speaker 2 (01:15:13):
Or not, I don't think so. I think that the
Bucks don't trade, be honest, they let him go out
on how he wants to go out.

Speaker 4 (01:15:19):
Sure, I mean that's not letting him walk, is it.
I hope he's on their contract. Yeah, okay, good, But.

Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I mean we've been doing this dance every single NBA
offseason since the first Trump administration where joannest is gonna
leave Milwaukee. It's been like eight years that that same
exact story verbatim has been.

Speaker 3 (01:15:38):
Reported, right, Yeah, yeah, I mean because no one wants
him be in Milwaukee, because no one wants to go
to Milwaukee. Bucks were in the finals and they're saying
Phoenix Milwaukee is the worst NBA Finals.

Speaker 4 (01:15:50):
Of all time. Yeah, just because the cities.

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
Yeah, which is I understand it as as you know,
if a casual is watching, that was an awesome time.
I'm biased because I'm a buck. Fifty point game, hitting
nineteen free throws is just incredible.

Speaker 4 (01:16:04):
The cities were fine, by the way, and then.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
There's Star two very good basketball cities.

Speaker 4 (01:16:10):
Yeah, it's just people don't understand. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:16:14):
Milwaukee's just Chicago by the way, so it's not that
big of a deal. And then Phoenix. Everyone says it's
one of the greatest cities in the country.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
So yeah, it's all right, Phoenix is It's not It's fine.

Speaker 3 (01:16:24):
I've never been. I just everyone who's gone there I've heard.
That's the worst thing I've ever heard anyone say. Is
you just saying it's fine?

Speaker 2 (01:16:30):
Yeah, I mean it's nice. I'd go again.

Speaker 4 (01:16:34):
Okay, okay, any other big predictions you want to lay
online here?

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
I don't think so. I might. I might let you off.
You computer sit in two percent for a while. Now,
I'm wondering when it's going to die. No idea where
my charger is. If I had to give all a know,
a couple of picks, it feels like the obvious ones
are Cooper Flag Rookie of the Year. You gotta bet
some money to win that, but he's gonna win it.
Same with Victor Wamayama Defense Player of the Year. Same
with Victor wembin Yama leading the NBA and block shots.

(01:17:05):
I think Anthony Edward did Clutch Player of the Year
because I think they just try to figure out I
don't know how that's voted on, what that even means.

Speaker 4 (01:17:11):
But this is the first year for that award.

Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
No Steph Curry and Jalen Brunston. I think they both
won it, so I think it just give they want
to give it to a good player, and Anthony Edwards
is a good player who's not going to get any
other awards, so they'll just give him this one. Sure,
Quinn Slanders Coach of the Year, and then I don't know,
I threw some all NBA teams together. I'm not going
to go over him, but if if you guys tune
in to go check it out, I'm gonna give you

(01:17:34):
then all rookie teams and the defensive teams too.

Speaker 4 (01:17:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:17:38):
Flurry sports dot org. Luke, like I said, wrote up
six thousand words a bunch of predictions for all of
those awards, for the all NBA teams, rookie teams, for
the game by game standings. He has that he has
everything we talked about on trooms of the playoffs. All
of his predictions are there, and a few storylines to watch,

(01:17:59):
like the Lakers, like the Hawks, like Cooper Flag obviously
will be spotlighted to start the year. So yeah, definitely
go check that out. And I imagine there's gonna be
more NBA stuff on floury sports dot org this year.

Speaker 2 (01:18:13):
Yeah, that's a goal of mine. But real quick, Anthony
Edwards led the NBA and three pointers last year. He's
currently plus four fifteen to lead the NBA in threes
this year.

Speaker 4 (01:18:22):
That's feels weird. So yeah, I definitely go'll bet that.

Speaker 2 (01:18:25):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (01:18:26):
Everything we know about him too, he's just gonna jack
up shots this year. Okay, So thank you Luke for
informing us on the NBA and we will see you
guys next time. And everyone go and try to find
an NBA game this week so you can find one.

Speaker 2 (01:18:42):
Tell me how you find it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:44):
Yeah, it's a scavenger hunt right down your steps, so
you don't get lost, and we'll see you next time.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
Bye, sports all safe day.

Speaker 4 (01:19:04):
You don't side sports inside, so you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:19:12):
Fuck.

Speaker 4 (01:19:12):
Yeah,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
