Speaker 1 (00:00):
Big thanks for listening to from dar nippets. Stay locked
in and don't forget to like share and subscribe. Do
it now, I mean right now? Well, all right, so
let's go get into some questions. Mister Jeff, What made
you want to become a motivational speaker? So I played

(00:21):
sports growing up. I was always either like captain, cole captain,
or some type of leader on the team. And I
always was the guy. But regardless, I was always a
guy that had our team out of ten. You know.
Of course I was a Laker fan since out the wound,

(00:42):
but like my era was the Kobe Shaq era, and
uh so fun fact about me, I used to play
soccer right so, because I love the Lakers so much.
Before games, Kobe and Shack they used to have this
thing where they would get in the circle and they'd
be like, y'all gonna make me lose my mind up
in here, and they used to jump up and down.

(01:04):
And I used to make all of my soccer teammates
do that, and I just I enjoyed always keep even
if we could have been down like five zero, but
I always had the mindset like until we see those doubles,
until we see the double Zeros were gonna go hard
in the pain, You're gonna make a We're gonna make
you feel us. And I just always enjoyed like keeping

(01:27):
my people at a high and then you know, I
got saved when I was like twenty three, twenty two,
twenty three ish, and then eventually I became a pastor.
But even as a pastor, I loved going to the schools,
Like being in in the church was cool. Like I

(01:47):
loved being in the church, but I loved being in
the schools. I loved being on the campus and like
talking to kids and their friends, introducing me to them
as like their pastor whatever, like I wear Jay's you know,
fitted jeans and that, you know, fitted hats and stuff,
and so they're like, that's your pastor, and just being

(02:09):
able to be on campus and motivate them. And then
I ran into Eric Thomas, and it was it was
it was lights. So I ran like, so I ran
into one of his in one of his videos in
twenty probably like twenty twelve, yeah, no, twenty eleven. I
ran into one of his videos on YouTube. So I

(02:30):
started following him. And then as I started following him,
I just for whatever reason. I just was intrigued and
obsessed with I was listening to everything he had to say.
In twenty fifteen, I met him. I actually I actually
drove out to Arizona with my brother and I just
had it set in my heart that I was like,
that's gonna be my mentor. Like, that's gonna be my mentor.

(02:54):
And his right hand man, CJ. I ran into him
because I was like, if I'm going Arizona, I'm paid
for the full package, I'm paying for the VIP everything.
And I ran into CJ, and CJ just put me
on game and he introduced me to this dude Kindle
and Kendall was like, motivational speaking is a part of

(03:14):
your journey, but being in ministry and having your own
ministry is your calling, and like that that was something
for me that just kind of like shaped how I
did things. So, you know, motivational speaking is the thing
that I know is what opens up the gate and
the conversation for me to preach the truth and give

(03:39):
people the truth. Because my motivation I could give somebody motivation.
I'm like, oh my god, I that was Bars and
I'm like, bro, that was Ephiji

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
