Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Good Day Health podcast with doctor Jack Stockwell,
sponsored in part by Caldron, the safe, proven way to
lose weight and keep it off. Check it all out
at toploss dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm doctor Jackstockwell at Forbidden Doctor dot com as well
as Jackstockwell dot com. I have two major thrusts, two
dynamics in my clinic. One is to bring the body
back into autonomic balance, in other words, balance between fight
(00:32):
or flight or rest and digest so that you're not
too jumpy and jittery, but you're not too slow either.
To restore that, and I do it by bringing the
nervous system back into balance structurally. And the other half
is nutrition. It's one thing to I'm going to throw
(00:52):
in a little political analogy of what I'm talking about here,
because I do a lot of political talk in this
city radio scene as well. And the big thing of
course right now is the peace thing that is going
on in Israel, trying to get peace, trying to get
a ceasefire, and that all the attention seems to be
(01:16):
to get you know, the hostages back and stop the
shooting and bombing and establish some kind of a peace deal.
But that's only half the problem. The other half of
the problem is if in fact they do that, which
we all want, what are you going to do next?
How are you going to rebuild? How are you going
to get water, How are you going to get food?
(01:37):
How are you going to re establish some kind of
community and commerce among the Palestinians. If they're going to
stay there, if you're going to let them stay there,
it's not enough just to stop shooting. You have to
come in, like the Marshall Plan at the end of
World War II in Europe. So in our office, what
we do, what I do is to get people out
(01:59):
of physical pain, get rid of the headache, get rid
of the migraines, the back pain, the stomach pains, the
leg needs joints, whatever. And then we have to follow
up with a nutritional plan that feeds what led to
the degeneration of the tissue in the first place. So
(02:21):
we have, as I said, two major avenues that we follow.
Number one, the immediate care that needs to be taking place.
Like someone comes in with super high blood pressure. We
want to normalize the blood pressure fast. But following that,
what caused the high blood pressure, and let's address that nutritionally,
(02:44):
because there's no organ. As I've said many times with
the Ondug show here, that responds quicker to improve nutrition
than the heart does. In fact, my favorite patient to
take care of is a heart patient simply because changing
a few things in their dietary profile and with some supplements,
whole food based supplements, in thirty days, we can change
(03:08):
an EKG. So physicians Michael and Mary EIDs and this
is you know, this has got what twenty years ago
or something like that wrote a book Protein Power, and
before the big push for carnivore diet, the big push
(03:28):
for kedo type diets, the big push for low carbohydrate,
high fat diets was the Aids Eades the AIDS book
on Protein Power, and it's a classic, and in it
they discussed a fast way to get high blood pressure down,
and they were on the forefront to recognize that high
(03:51):
insulin levels from the typical high carbohydrate American diet was
the key cause of high blood pressure. And the high protein,
low carbohydrate diet they recommend it so effective that they
had a warning in their book, if you're going to
follow our diet, please be aware of this warning kind
(04:13):
of a thing.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
And the warning.
Speaker 2 (04:15):
Said, quote a high protein, low carbohydrate diet is so
effective in lowering blood pressure that if you are on
blood pressure medication, you must be careful. You may become
dizzy and faint within just a few days, and you
will need to be taken off your medication quickly.
Speaker 3 (04:34):
End quote.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
How many times do you see a warning like that
in a book on nutrition anymore? I mean, that's what
got my attention. I was just I had heard about
the book. I was in the bookstore. I was just
leafing through the pages and I saw that warning. Now
that's the kind of warning you want to see if
you have high blood pressure, Because if you're one of
(04:56):
the more than half of Americans who consume the the
standard American diet, with high insulin levels resulting and the
high blood pressure, you may want to try to kick
the carbohydrate habit. That's not easy, but it will bring
the blood pressure down and you'll be glad you did.
I mean, besides, dropping your your blood pressure quickly and
(05:20):
having your doctor ween or toss your prescriptions will make
you a new person. And then you add in all
the beautiful side effects that come with it, losing weight
if necessary, lowering your insulin levels, lowering your triglycerides and
your LDL, raising the HDL, the good cholesterol, and increasing stamina,
(05:42):
endurance strength, muscle tone. You might actually have something great
to celebrate now if you're just tuning in, I'm doctor
Jack Stockwell at forbiddendoctor dot com and just happy to
be here as one of the regulars of the Doug
Stephan Good Day Health Show, and I'm talking about normalizing
blood pressure fast And I also mentioned if you're just
(06:05):
tuning it, you may not have heard that my favorite
patient to take care of is heart patient because the
heart is the easiest organ to fix when it comes
to nutritional therapies. So some cases of high insulin induced
hypertension will resolve with just a diet change alone. I
(06:27):
have seen this over and over again, and these are
usually the folk who are overweight and out of shape.
They usually consume loads of refined carbohydrates, the junk foods.
They eat rice, they eat cereals, they potatoes, they eat bread, cakes, pies, cookies, crackers,
and the like, and they have blood fat levels that
(06:51):
are out of the norm, high triglycerides, high LDL, and
the fasting glucose may be high. The triglycerides are usually high,
and the LDL is usually high, and the HDL, the
good cholesterol, is low. And so the body's response to
(07:11):
raise insulin levels. That's what happens. That so affects the
heart and the kidneys. When you raise your insulin level,
the heart and the kidneys are the two organs to
first respond to that in a diletarious way. Now, insulin,
(07:33):
we all know what insulin is. It's an incredible hormone.
It comes out of the pancreas that when blood sugar
levels rise up, insulin is released to get the blood
sugar out of the blood and into the cells where
it's needed for energy.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
And at the end.
Speaker 2 (07:50):
Of the day, glucose is glucose, and that's the only
form of sugar your body can use is glucose.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Your table sugar is a disaccharrie.
Speaker 2 (08:00):
It's two different kinds of sugars, but it has to
be broken down into glucose before your body can use it.
And all the different kinds of sugars that are out
there have to be broken down to glucose. And I've
often made the shock in comment to patients whether you
ate a stalk of broccoli or you ate a Snicker's
(08:21):
candy bar. At the end of the day, they're both
glucose in the bloodstream. And then you know, when I
see the shock look on their face because they've never
heard that before, then that gives me a chance to
explain what insulin is. Insulin doesn't seem to care where
the sugar came from. It just has to get it
(08:41):
out of the blood and into the cells. So that
stalk of broccoli is a carbohydrate. What's a carbohydrate Anything
that did not have a face, anything that did not
come from an animal, anything, beans, lugumes, seeds, nuts, vegetables, fruits.
(09:05):
They're all carbohydrates. Some of them are complex, some of
them are simple. But at the end of the day,
through the digestive power of your body, that broccoli is
going to be broken down into glucose in the bloodstream. Now,
there are advantages to eating broccoli over a Snickers bar
(09:28):
in that the broccoli probably has some enzymes and some vitamins.
If it's organic, it could actually be good for you
because of what was in the soil is now in
the broccoli and is now in your bloodstream. The candy
bar is just it's just sugar and some nuts. It's
not very healthy at all. That will digest quicker and
(09:50):
bring your sugar levels up faster, causing the release of
insulin quicker of course than the broccoli will. But the
only way you can use that broccoli is for the
digestive system to turn it into glucose in your bloodstream. Now,
with that having been said, when you eat too much
(10:10):
of those things I was just telling you, most the
refined carbohydrates, your insulin will shoot up. Broccoli won't make
your insulin shoot up if you ate a bowl of broccoli,
you know, an hour or two hours later. Yeah, the
insulin has to respond to that because of the sugar
that's going into the blood. But a candy bar or
(10:33):
a soft drink, or any of the processed carbohydrates that
we eat, the little hard candies or anything like that,
or the artificial peanut butter or filled candies or whatever,
your blood sugar goes up really quick, Your insulin levels
raise up really fast. This is when we are in
(10:53):
we're going to be having high blood pressure problems. Now,
there's other causes of high blood pressure, don't get me
wrong with this, but one of the most common ones
is the food choices that we make so with the
the only way to resolve this properly is with the
right diet and with stubborn cases. And we run across
(11:18):
that from time to time, because I'll do with somebody
that's had a high carbohydrate diet for forty years and
the body's kind of ingrained to that, and so it's
kind of that's what it was taught, and so it
kind of has a pattern of behavior and response, and
sometimes we have to break through that. Now I'm going
to tell you how supplement wise here when we get
(11:40):
back from the break. We're coming up to a break
here in a few seconds, and when we get back,
I'm on the list what I do with my patients
to normalize blood pressure quickly, besides just getting rid of
these standard American diet foods that feed the high blood
(12:00):
pressure mechanism. I'm doctor Jackstockwallet from biddendoctor dot com.
Speaker 3 (12:05):
I will be right back.
Speaker 4 (12:06):

Speaker 1 (13:10):
Doug Stefan here with Good Day Health. Doctor Jack Stockwell
is on the air.
Speaker 2 (13:15):
I'm doctor Jack Stockwell at Forbidden doctor dot com, and
I've been talking about normalizing blood pressure quickly now a
lot there's a lot of causes. One of the most
common is the white coat syndrome. You can have a
very good, reliable method of checking your blood pressure at home.
(13:36):
You don't have to spend several hundred dollars on a
blood pressure system that they that might be used by
your physician in the various types of medical specialties. But
you can still get a good system for under one
hundred bucks, and you probably you may very well have
(14:00):
already like I do. In fact, I have two in
my house, and i have three or four of them
in the clinic. And I'm not worried about that so
much as my patients are. But because because the first
thing usually when you go to see a physician, a
medical physician, they want to take your blood pressure.
Speaker 6 (14:20):
And.
Speaker 2 (14:23):
You're gonna if you have elevated blood pressure and you're
not on a blood pressure lowering medication, they're gonna they're
gonna try and get you on one, and they'll give
you all of the scary facts and figures and some
of which are not so factual as to what happens
with you know, with high blood pressure. Now, when I'm
talking high blood pressure, I'm talking two hundred two hundred
(14:47):
over one hundred and ten. Now, if you've heard me
on Doug's show enough, you know, I still subscribe to
the earlier diagnosis of high blood pressure that was prevalent
right up through the nineteen seventies until some new blood
pressure drug showed up and then they started lowering the
number of what was considered normal high blood pressure and
(15:10):
high blood pressure back then simply was to take your
age and add one hundred to it and that would
be the high number. Now, in a few weeks, I'm
going to turn seventy five, so my high blood pressure
would be one hundred and seventy five. But if I
walked into a medical office today and it was one
hundred and seventy five, my goodness, they would probably put
(15:33):
me in a wheelchair and haul me down to the
to the cardiac lab and catheter or do something to check,
you know, an echo cardiogrammer or something immediately. Well, I
have a good heart. I have a good solid heart.
My last heart exam was very good. So my blood
pressure runs around one hundred and fifty one hundred and
(15:54):
fifty five over about eighty six eighty eight, now forty
years ago.
Speaker 3 (16:00):
So that was fine.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
That was considered normal at my current age, not my
age forty years ago, but my age right now. And
so I try to calm down my patients when they
come in the clinic because they have a home device.
As I was starting this conversation with, they have a
home device that shows their blood pressure to be a
(16:22):
certain amount. Let's say one hundred, and they're over sixty
five and their blood pressure is running a one hundred
and forty low one hundred and fifty something over eighty something.
Because I don't want the loan number over one hundred.
In fact, I like to get the low number under ninety.
But they go to the doctor's office and all of
(16:42):
a sudden, their blood pressure is one hundred and eighty
over one hundred and ten. Well, that's what we call
the white coat syndrome. For some reason, some people, when
they're in a physician's office, their blood pressure goes crazy.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
I don't know why.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
I don't know that anybody does, but it's just something
that happens. But I would trust the blood pressure you
do if you check a daily in your home or
your office, I would go by that number. Now I
told you, I was going to tell you with some
very stubborn cases of getting that high blood pressure down.
(17:17):
There's some supplementation that's needed. So we're going to go
to the break and after a few minutes here we'll
be right back. And so you want to have some
a pencil, paper, pens, something to write these things down,
because these are critical and I use these in my
office all the time. I'm doctor Jack Stockwell at Forbidden
doctor dot com.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
I will be right back after the break.
Speaker 1 (17:39):
Caliitron is on the top of the food chain, if
you will, when it comes to losing weight. And because
it is fall, it's time to focus on what we
seem to get into every year.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
At this time exactly. You know, we call it the
eating season. There's a ton of dire products out there, y'all.
I know it's overwhelming. There are the quick fixes, are
the ones that you know, we know have side effects,
the ones that you're not sure what's going to be
the long term side effects. They come and they go.
Caldron has been proven safe and effective for almost thirty years.
(18:10):
So if you need a little bit of help, especially
this time of the year, Caltrin is gonna get you there.
The website is toploss dot com. There is a big
fall sale going on right now with discounts on every
single month. So whether you have a little bit of
weight to lose or a lot of weight to lose,
it's a great time to get on caltrins. And then
I'm also going to give you our phone number two
one eight hundred three two five four three six six.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Elizabeth Miller from top loss dot com and Calatrin.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
I'm doctor Jack Stockwill at Forbidden doctor dot com and
Jack Stockwell dot com. And again, I just always like
to say at least once during the show, I don't
take my presence here. As a friend of Doug's and
a guest on his health show, I appreciate the trust.
He's been a patient in mind for over twenty years now,
(19:06):
and I take care of the structural aspects of his existence,
meaning his spine and an awful lot of supplementation. And
so I address the various organs in his body that
he's concerned with after he's had some kind of medical analysis, diagnosis, whatever,
(19:27):
and we address these things with supplements, but you have
to be very careful of where these supplements come from.
One of the sayings that I like is if there's
no vitality in the soil, there's no vitality in the bottle.
So you read the ingredients, you read the label, and
(19:51):
you don't see anything there that represents the soil. What
would represent the soil, vegetables, some animal extract, some vegetable concentration,
something like that carrot powder.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
Something.
Speaker 2 (20:14):
There was something in particular I was seeking there for
a second. I'll probably remember it. But calcium lactate, various types.
In other words, they don't list the chemical names of
the vitamins. If they list the chemical names of the vitamins,
they're synthetic, that they came from a laboratory, and they
will hurt you. I guarantee you in the long run.
(20:37):
They will hurt you because they will lead to deficiencies.
You can't full of mother nature. You can't bypass mother nature.
If you don't follow the laws and the rules of
mother nature, there's going to be You're going to have
to pay for it eventually somewhere along the line. And
a diet that consists of junk foods and rice, and
(21:00):
especially breakfast cereals or potatoes or bread or cakes or
pies or cookies or crackers is only going to lead
to disaster down the road, because they not only are
devoid of nutrition, they raise the insulin level, and it's
the ray elevated insulin level that is the greater cause
(21:23):
of blood pressure, elevated blood pressure than anything else. How
do I know that? Because when we get these things
out of the diet and we use a few special supplements,
that blood pressure comes crashing down in a matter of
weeks to a month or so.
Speaker 3 (21:38):
And that's it.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
So the only way to resolve this properly is with
the right diet, and with stubborn cases, supplementation is needed. Now,
what do I mean by the right diet something like
the Mediterranean diet. I think there's hardly a physician out
there that wouldn't recommend the Mediterranean diet. There's no processed
(22:02):
foods in the Mediterranean diet. The vegetables come from other nature.
The fruits, the meats, the fig the lamb, everywhere else
comes from mother nature. Your body is designed to eat
the foods that Mother Nature made, not what the food
(22:22):
giants make.
Speaker 3 (22:23):
So here are the major.
Speaker 2 (22:26):
Things that I give my patients when I'm dealing with
a high blood pressure situation where they are of great concern.
Number one, something called diaplex. Just like it sounds dia
p l e X Diaplex. Diaplex is a product made
by Standard Process. It's available at forbiddendoctor dot com. I
(22:50):
have seen this by itself change blood sugar situations with
patients mourning fasting glucose type of things. I've seen this
supplement by itself bring a mourning glucose of over two
hundred down to one hundred or lower in a matter
of two weeks. It's a better stimulant for the pancreas.
(23:14):
It helps the pancreas do a better job as well
as some digestive enzymes that are present in it. So
I recommend to my patients two per meal. You eat
two meals a day. Two you're going to take four
of these. You eat three meals a day, you're going
to take six, but you take two permeial diaplectx, then
you want to take cardioplus. Cardioplus is food for the heart.
(23:38):
And when you read the ingredients of these products, you
don't see a bunch of vitamin names. You see a
bunch of foods. To two permeal, then there's something called chromium. Complex.
Chromium is absolutely essential for your to regulate insulin levels
(24:02):
in the body and Interestingly enough, we have found in
nutritional research that chromium, and it has to be the
right form. It has to be the chromium that comes
through food. For instance, chromium pacolinate a very common form
of chromium supplementation. Chromium pacolonate does not occur in nature.
(24:25):
While I'm thinking about it, another big fat out there
is magnesium glycinate. I see product, I see commercials on
television for the best magnesium glycinate. Magnesium glcinate does not
occur in nature. It's something that man made. Is a
very cheap form of getting magnesium in the body. And
(24:46):
even though it will raise your magnesium levels, what else
is it going to do when it's something your body
doesn't recognize. All Right, now I'm getting out in new
weeds and I'm doing something else. I want to get
back to what I recommend for the heart. So I
told you diaplex two permeal, cardioplus two per meal, chromium
(25:06):
complex two per meal. Calcium lactate. Calcium lactate is the
form of calcium that your heart definitely needs, and as
calcium lactate, it is only one step away from the
only form of calcium your body can use, which is
calcium bicarbonate. There's a lot of different forms of calcium
(25:31):
that are out there in the marketplace. And will you
get calcium out of it, Yes, of course you will,
but sometimes you don't get much out of it because
it's very hard to break down. The most common form
of calcium in the supplement marketplace is calcium carbonate. Every
other bottle of calcium in your health food store, or
(25:52):
near the pharmacy, in a grocery store, or wherewhere else
every other body is going to show calcium coming from
calcium carbonate. Calcium carbon is why the mountains are mountains
that the rain water didn't wash them away a thousand
millennium ago, limestone, shale, all these things are calcium carbonate,
(26:12):
and it's very hard for your body to break that
down to get the calcium out of it. But calcium
lactate is just elemental calcium and lactic asim comes together
in a form calcium lactate easily assimilated and the calcium
is released into the bloodstream. Why does the heart need
calcium because it won't beat without it. You know that
(26:35):
potassium will slow the heart down, Calcium will speed it up,
give you strong heartbeat. In fact, a lot of medications
for heart disease. You've heard of calcium channel blockers. What
they do is they slow down the effect of calcium
so the heart doesn't beat so hard. Now, rather than
(26:56):
finding out why the heart is beating so hard and
us it, we just throw calcium channel blockers on it. Well,
without calcium, your heart is not going to beat, your
muscles are not going to contract, So we use calcium
lactate again, about two to three per meal. Then you
want something called organically bound minerals one per meal, and
(27:22):
then you need cod liver oil anywhere from two to
six capsules a day. And in addition to a high
protein diet and a low carbohydrate diet, success is often
remarkably fast for what I'm talking about now. The thinking
that high protein diets are dangerous for people with high
(27:45):
blood pressure or whose kidneys are being damaged by prescription
drugs and carbohydrates is just hopelessly outdated. It's not what
the news research is showing. No, I don't often recommend books,
even though I've found some books, and I have some
(28:06):
books in my library.
Speaker 3 (28:07):
I like, but there's usually parts of the book.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
I don't like because they have a way of being fatish,
running away with a local fad. That's out there. But
one book I do often recommend to my patients is
the AIDS book Eades Doctors Aids, both of them are
doctors protein Power. Now, there's a lot of other good
(28:32):
books out there now on high protein, high fat, low
carbohydrate diets. You remember Atkins, I mean, and there's still
the promotion for the Atkins diet that's out there.
Speaker 3 (28:48):
That's all that was.
Speaker 2 (28:50):
When I first ran across the Atkins diet, oh what
twenty five thirty years ago something like that. I had
a patient I hadn't seen for a couple of years
come into the clinic and holy smoke, they were half
the person they.
Speaker 3 (29:02):
Used to be.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
And I, you know, before I could congratulate, get the
congratulations out of my mouth that they had so precipitously
lost weight, they said, guess how I lost my weight?
And I said, well, you stopped eating. Just trying to
be funny, they said, no, Atkins. Well I knew about Atkins.
(29:30):
I hadn't read the book yet, but I knew about alkins.
And this was just in the very early stages of
rais lowering the carbohydrates and raising the protein. And the
fat intake in our foods. In other words, a good
example is going from breakfast cereal to bacon and eggs
for breakfast.
Speaker 3 (29:51):
That's simple.
Speaker 2 (29:52):
That is one of the easiest things for my patients
to grasp when I talked to them about how important
it is to lower the carbohydrate intake. Now I've talked
about insulin, and you know everything about insulin for that matter,
because if you've listened to my shows, you know it.
Speaker 3 (30:13):
You've studied it.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
On your own. When you eat carbohydrates, they're going to
break into sugar. The sugar has to get out of
the blood. There's two ends of the spectrum of sugar
in the blood. One is too much sugar, and you
can go into a diabetic coma where you need a
shot of insulin or the sugar drops solo, you have
(30:36):
insulin shock, and this is where they'll give you a
try to get orange juice down your throat to bring
your sugar levels back up, because the brain has a
certain margin that it can operate in with sugar, because
the brain wants sugar.
Speaker 3 (30:52):
Now, the brain.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Loves fat for its energy source, but it wants sugar,
especially if we've trained it to eat sugar. So that's
why the insulin thing and its response is so quick
and so important. Now that's not insulin's number one job.
Insulins number one job isn't to lower blood sugar. Insulince
(31:18):
number one job is to store energy, store it as fat.
Whatever sugar is flowing through the bloodstream that the body
does not need, does not need to hold on to,
will convert it to fat. Which is why when you
go on a high protein, low carbohydrate diet, you starve
(31:38):
the body of the sugar and the fat falls off
because the body turns to fat for its energy source
because the sugar it's.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
So used to isn't there anymore.
Speaker 2 (31:49):
And before the show finishes off here, I again want
to thank Doug for allowing me to be a part
of the program. I have podcasts at forbiddendoctor dot com
your education that goes into this subject with the heart, insulin,
everything much greater degree than I could today. I'm doctor
Jack Stockwell at forbiddendoctor dot com.
Speaker 6 (32:11):
Five thousand dollars that's the average amount of money people
in the US are now spending on gas in a year.
