Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the Good Day Health Podcast with doctor Jack Stockwell,
sponsored in part by Caldron, the safe, proven way to
lose weight and keep it off. Check it all out
at toploss dot com.
Speaker 2 (00:11):
I'm doctor Jack Stockwell at Forbidden doctor dot com and
once again happy to be here and happy to have
you as an audience, and I hope to be able
to deliver a good program for you today with the
trust of good Doug Stefan on the Good The Doug
Stephan Health Show again. I am going to talk about
(00:32):
something that is in the minds of many of my patients,
and I suppose it's probably shared by you as well,
because it's a very common thing. And I always want
to address what they have in mind, things that concern
then that are you know that's going on in health
news or anything else. And I would talk about the
(00:55):
latest things that are going on, this stuff about Tyler
all and birth defects and autism and the other kinds
of things. I love the way the news is saying
the World Health Organization rejects Trump's comments on tylanol and autism.
(01:17):
What they don't say is, let's take a look at
the research. Because there's plenty of research that's available out
there that Bobby Kennedy Jr. And President Trump have based
these comments on that. Yeah, there is a lot of
indication that the use of tailanol during the first or
(01:37):
second trimesters have a possibility of hurting it developing brain.
That's not what I wanted to talk about today. I
just wanted to mention that in the sense that I
just love the news that is owned lock Stock and
Barrel by Big Pharma, that's going to do everything they
can to defend Big Pharma. And this is just a
(01:59):
glaring evident of it, as though Bobby Kennedy Junior and
President Trump just one afternoon said hey, let's go after Thailand.
Al And it's not just the possibility of autism. There's
other kinds of poisonings that take place in the body
when you use any of these end states, and not
just tailand on. Anyway, that's as I said, that's not
(02:20):
the subject I wanted to address. I wanted to address
the subject to college and supplements because that is the
latest fad that's out there in the healthcare world. It's
in the nutrition world, healthcare world, it's in the face
cream wrinkle world. So my patients asked me. You know
(02:41):
you you pretty well stock your shelves with standard Process products.
Why doesn't standard Process have a collagen supplement? So I said, Okay,
let's talk about the word fraud. According to the Cambridge Dictionary,
a fraud is the crime of getting money by deceiving people.
(03:05):
And I want you to know that collagen supplements are
a nutritional fraud. And I'm going to get into it here,
into the digestive system of the human body, to explain
why when you eat a fried egg it doesn't show
up as a fried egg somewhere in the body. I
(03:26):
know that sounds silly, but when someone tells me, well,
I'm taking these collagen supplements, but I'm not sure they're working,
I want to say the same thing about the fried egg.
You can't take a collageen supplement and have a show
up as collagen in the body. And I'm going to
explain to you, as I explain to my patients why
that's the case. And It's always been the curse and
(03:49):
the challenge of the work that I've been doing on
the Doug Stephan Good Day Health Show program for over
twenty years now as to how I have to devote
so much of the time that I spent on the
air unlearning and disabusing my listeners of wrong and incomplete knowledge,
(04:10):
as opposed to being able to spend time educating and training.
Collagen is the most abundant protein in the body. About
thirty percent of the total protein in our body is collagen.
And if eating collagen directly added collagen to the body,
(04:32):
there would be no biological need for vitamin C to
exist because the primary job of vitamin C is the
building of collagen. Vegetarians who eat no collagen because there's
no collagen in plants, could not exist because their bodies
(04:53):
would disintegrate. Now what do I mean by that they
don't eat collagen? Their body is full of collagen. How
did it get there if they don't eat collagen. Now,
some of you, I know your eyes are rolling back
in your head because you know where I'm going to
go with this. But this is why so many collagen
(05:15):
supplements fail. Number One, Collagen is digested like any other
kind of a protein you eat, whether it's a hamburger
or a piece of fish or pea protein in a
plate of of sweet peas or chicken, or any other
kind of protein that we eat. It's digested in the stomach,
(05:40):
it's broken down into amino acids and into peptides, pure
and simple. It doesn't matter what kind of protein to
repeat myself, that you consume. Once it gets out of
the stomach into the duodenum, it is no longer collagen.
(06:01):
It's amino acids and peptides. Now, if you're just tuning in,
I'm doctor Jack Stockwell and forbidden doctor dot com, and
I'm trying to address the fraud, the complete utter fraud
of collagen supplements. Number one reason collagen supplements fail is
because it's digested in the stomach into amino acids and peptides.
(06:22):
Number two in collagen supplement collagen synthesis in the body.
For your body to produce collagen, there must be iron
and copper present. That's part of the loom upon which
your body builds collagen. Read the label of your collagen
supplement and see how much iron and copper is present.
(06:46):
It's like going to bake a cake, but you leave
out the flour and you leave out the sugar. Now,
try and make a cake. It isn't going to happen,
or it's not going to be what you want it
to be. So collagen supplements have very poor what's known
as fibroblast activation. Fibroblasts are the beginning of the cells
(07:09):
that become collagen cells, and there is very little material
in a collagen supplement to trigger the beginning of collagen
cells in the sense of fibroblasts. And so what you
end up with is just overpriced protein. It's just a
canister or pills or whatever, or a container of just
(07:31):
expensive protein powder. Now, if you could eat collagen. I
was explaining this to a male patient because he works
it out every day, and he wanted to know what
collagen product I best recommended.
Speaker 3 (07:46):
I just.
Speaker 2 (07:49):
I said, Bob. And his name is Bob. I said, Bob,
how many times? How many times have we talked about
this over twenty thirty years? How many times have we
talked about this? He said, you're losing your hair? He said, yeah,
I'm not happy about that. Well, why don't you just
eat some hair. You can probably get a big old
(08:12):
ball of hair from some beauty shop somewhere, you know,
clean it, wash it, purify it, and fill your mouth
up with somebody else's hair and eat it so it'll
grow out at the top of your head and he
just stood there staring at me. I said, well, it's
the same thing. You think you can eat collagen, and
it's going to be collagen inside your body. Why don't
(08:32):
you just eat hair. You don't have to take the
drugs or whatever it is you're taking now to try
to stimulate hair growth. Just eat the hair. Applying collagen
even topically is like pouring bricks on the roof of
your house and expecting a new house to build itself.
(08:52):
I mean, that's how silly it is. The collagen molecules
are just simply too large to penetrate the skin barrier,
and they have to be broken down and rebuilt, which
the skin does not naturally do from external collagen. And
there's some really good collagen products out there that just
(09:15):
promise you this and promise you that. And I say
good only in the sense of marketing. I mean there's
some very good marketing taking place. In fact, there's one
company in viral Medica. There's a good name for you
in virol the environment Medica Medicine, and they make a
(09:36):
cartilage collagen. I'm looking at it right now, and it
comes from cows from New Zealand. Now I'm impressed by
that because my lifelong energy enzymes that I make the
enzymes come from New Zealand animals. Why because the animals
(09:59):
that are raised in New Zealand or some of the healthiest,
cleanest animals on the planet. Why because of the air
drift patterns, the atmospheric wind patterns bypass New Zealand. It's
so far down there that the upper air, the jet
(10:20):
streams that pick up what's in the atmosphere of other
countries like China, and what they pump into the atmosphere
eventually has to come back down somewhere. New Zealand misses
an awful lot of that. So that's why a lot
of supplement companies use New Zealand product or material for
(10:40):
their products. So that's where this one is coming from.
And I'm reading it right here. Type two collagen twelve
hundred milligrams in four capsules. What else is in there?
Unde natured type two collagen and chondroit and sulfate. Other
ingredients dairy, wheat, yeast, gluten, corn, sugar, soy, shellfish, free
(11:07):
nuts or preservatives made without artificial fillers and binders or
additives of any kind. Well, there's no zinc, and there's
no iron, and there's no copper, and there's no manganese,
without which you cannot build collagen inside your body, and
(11:28):
it's very expensive. The premiere source Why New Zealand goes
on to explain that the idea is if you really
work hard, you're going to go out there and get rich.
That's not necessarily true, is it. Now? How does your
body make collagen? Because that's the only way you're going
to get collagen is the collagen your body makes. After
(11:49):
the break. I will explain step by step. Well, your
body needs to make collagen, how it's going to do it,
and if you want to get the anti aging effect
of it, the rinkle free part of it, this is
what you might consider taking. I'm doctor Jack Stockwell at
Forbidden Doctor. I will be right back after the break.
Speaker 4 (12:09):
Five thousand dollars. That's the average amount of money people
in the US are now spending on gas in a year.
Five grand. That's crazy. If you drive, you have to
download Upside, the free app that gives you cash back
every time you get gas. That's right. You can earn
real cash back with Upside just by buying the gas
you're already buying. You can literally start earning cash back today.
Speaker 5 (12:32):
I use Upside every time I fill up, and I've
already made around to three hundred dollars.
Speaker 4 (12:36):
You're putting gas in your car anyway, why not get
real cash back.
Speaker 3 (12:39):
If you like free money, download Upside.
Speaker 6 (12:41):
I'm saving the cash iron from using Upside to help
pay for a vacation later this year.
Speaker 4 (12:45):

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Doug Stefan here with Good Day Health. Doctor Jack Stockwell
is on the air.
Speaker 2 (13:19):
I'm what is known as a NUKA doctor. It's a
very specialized approach to the spine. And I'm in Salt
Lake City and I have agreed to come to work
this Saturday. I don't want to. I like my Saturdays off,
but I've agreed to come to work this Saturday because
(13:43):
two emergencies are coming in from out of state for
demand for the kind of work that we do, as
I said, very specialized. And one of these is extremely
serious migraines and the other one is extremely almost paralyzing
sciatica that nothing has been able to help, and they've
(14:05):
heard about us and they're coming in from out of state.
I will have a web page that better explains that
kind of stuff here before too much longer, because we're
not at the nutrition end that I represent on the
Good Day Health Show is just half of what we do.
The other half is structural realignment of the body in
a very very very gentle approach to the spine. All right,
(14:27):
I told you before the break that I want to
get into collagen synthesis. How does your body make collagen?
Because you can give it all the collagen in the
world in all the different products, and unless the vital
ingredients are present, your body is going to have a
hard time putting collagen together. Which is why the older
(14:50):
we get, the more saggy our skin is, the more
wrinkly we get. The older we start looking, we think
our ears are getting bigger, our nose is getting bigger.
It's only because the skin that surrounds our ears and
nose is getting flatter and thinner because of a lack
of collagen, and it makes those organs look bigger, eyes
(15:11):
get a little droopy, jowls start to sag because we're
losing collagen strength inside the skin. And then we run
out and buy expensive protein powder called a collagen supplement,
and it doesn't work. We still go on saggy. Now,
there's seven seven ingredients that are necessary for your body
(15:35):
to manufacture collagen at leads to the degree that firmness
of skin can be maintained. Number one is protein. Because
collagen is a protein. You have to have adequate protein
in the diet, dense nutrient protein, which is animal meat
(16:00):
or bone broth. This is one of the reasons why
it kind of started out as a fad, but now
it's being recognized as a very important nutritional therapy and
a lot of people are just making bone broth at home.
You get the bones from a healthy animal, not commercial bones.
(16:23):
It's got to be a grass pastured animal, primarily beef.
Chicken is just as good. In some cases, chicken broth
is much more flavorful. Why do we make these things,
why do we cook them in broth? Because those important
amino acids that are necessary for the building of collagen
(16:44):
is in the collagen products of the animals. It's in
their bones, it's in their cartilage, it's in their ligaments,
it's in their tendons. And when we cook those things,
we boil them in water for a few hours at
A lot of that material, especially the marrow of beef
bones and the marrow of chicken bones and chicken bones
(17:05):
do have marrow, gets into the water and then we
flavor it salt, pepper, flavor it however that Italian, Mexican
whatever you want to flavor it and drink a good
quart of that a day and you'll be surprised what
happens to your skin. And as little as two to
three weeks. We're going to go to break here in
a second, and as soon as we're back, I'm going
(17:27):
to go through the rest of those seven ingredients. I'm
doctor Jack Stockwell that forbidden doctor. I will be right back.
Speaker 1 (17:34):
Caliitron is on the top of the food chain, if
you will, when it comes to losing weight, and because
it is fall, it's time to focus on what we
seem to get into every year at.
Speaker 6 (17:44):
This time exactly. You know, we call it the eating season.
There's a ton of dire products out there, y'all. I
know it's overwhelming. There are the quick fixes, are the
ones that you know, we know have side effects, the
ones that you're not sure what's going to be the
long term side effects.
Speaker 1 (17:59):
They come and they go.
Speaker 6 (18:00):
Caldron has been proven safe and effective for almost thirty years.
So if you need a little bit of help, especially
this time of the year, Caltrin is gonna get you there.
The website is toploss dot com. There is a big
fall sale going on right now with discounts on every
single month, So whether you have a little bit of
weight to lose or a lot of weight to lose,
it's a great time to get on Caltrins. And then
(18:22):
I'm also going to give you our phone number two
one eight hundred three two five four three six six.
Speaker 1 (18:28):
Elizabeth Miller from top loss dot com and Calidrin. Here
we are back on Good Day Health.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
I'm doctor jackstock Will at Forbidden doctor dot com. Okay,
after protein, where's that protein go? What goes into the stomach? Well,
what do you need in the stomach? To break down
that protein. You need hot hydrochloric acid and pepsin. And
pepsin is an enzyme that extracts the amino acids. Interesting
(19:03):
thing about pepsin. Hydrochloric acid is manufactured in the stomach
by what are called proton pumps, and this is where
proton pump inhibitors PPIs stop the production of acid. One
of the craziest of medical therapies to try to stop
(19:23):
acid indigestion. Oh, it stops acid indigestion, it also stops
protein digestion, leading to a whole series of problems. The
body's going to suffer as a result of that. However,
the proton pump pumps out these protons, these hydrogen ions,
(19:46):
and they mix with the water that's in the stomach
and it produces hydrochloric acid and hydrochloric acid. Once it
gets down to a pH of three, which is pretty hot,
it's going to get hotter than that. It's pretty hot acid.
By the time it gets down to a three, pepsin
is released from the walls of the stomach. Pepsin will
(20:08):
not come out of the walls of the stomach until
the acid level gets down to three or lower. Why
do we need pepsin. Pepsin has a few little jobs
to perform, but its primary job is to digest collagen.
(20:29):
Collagen is only found in animal flesh. There is no
collagen in the plant world. Now, why would Mother Nature
make it possible for our stomachs to digest animal products
if we weren't supposed to eat animal products. Now, I'm
not going to go into the virtues or the problems
(20:51):
that are involved with vegan or vegetarian diets. I've got
plenty of podcasts that Forbidden dot Com on that subject,
and I've addressed it many times here on the Good
Day Health Show. What's important here is that in order
to properly digest nutrient dense protein in our diets, we
have to have hot hydrochloric acid and the release of pepsin. Now,
(21:13):
once that's happened, and we start breaking down those proteins
in the stomach into peptides and amino acids, that will
be released into the duodenum, where it's hit with a
buffering of an alkaline solution that buffers at acid so
that it doesn't digest your small intestine, and then it's
(21:36):
hit with more proteolytic protein cutting up enzymes that come
out of the pancreas to break those peptides down even
further into elemental amino acids, so that those amino acids
can be absorbed through the wall of the gut into
the bloodstream. Your body will deliver those enzymes wherever the
(21:56):
brain wants them to go to start rebuilding bone, rebuilding muscle,
rebuilding discs, rebuilding joints, rebuilding whatever else through the use
of collagen synthesis. Now, there's a very important vitamin that's
absolutely essential to the building of collagen inside the body,
(22:16):
and that is vitamin C. Whole food vitamin C, not
a scorbic acid. Regardless that the FDA says amino or
a scorbic acid is vitamin C, it isn't. Scorbic acid
is just a part of the vitamin C complex, which
is why a scorbic acid will not cure scurvy. Scurvy
(22:42):
in your mouth is simply where the collagen is breaking
down and your gums start to bleed and your teeth
come loose and fall out. You can have scurvy in
the heart, you can have scurvy anywhere in the body.
Scurvy is just it, just it comes from a scorbic
That's where the word scurvy comes from. And a scorbic
(23:05):
relates to the very thing that I'm talking about, whose food,
vitamin C will cure scurvy. Even the inventor, the discoverer,
Vent Gorny, an Eastern European over one hundred years ago,
discovers vitamin C. Even he said, a scorbic acid is
not vitamin C. It's just a part of the vitamin
(23:26):
C complex. So you have to have vitamin C because
what vitamin C does is it hydroxylates. There's a big
word for you. The amino acids prolene and lysine. Prolene
and lysine are absolutely essential to the building of collagen.
And what vitamin C does is it takes those two
(23:47):
amino acids and with the use of water molecule attachments,
gets them ready to become collagen. Then you need iron.
Iron is absolutely essential. It's a cofactor in that very
thing that the vitamin C is doing. Along with iron,
(24:09):
you need copper. Copper allows cross linking to take place. Now,
I think if you can go if you go to
Google and you search collagen and go to images, you'll
see a few images that expand out to show how
collagen synthesis comes together. And if you can just imagine
(24:30):
a tightly woven carpet or a tightly woven neck scarf
or anything like that, where the knitting fibers, the cotton, whatever, wole, whatever,
goes back and forth in several different directions to give
you a very very tight weave. That's what collagen ends
(24:50):
up becoming. And copper is what allows that cross linking
to take place in the formation of collagen. Then you
need zinc. Zinc is absolutely necessary for the healthy fibroblasts
to be developed that will become collagen cells. And then
(25:12):
one of the most well they're all important, but the
one I really highlight with my patients is manganese. So
I've got patients who come in and they think they
have Ahlers dan los because their ligaments are loose, or
they are double jointed because they can stretch joints beyond
There's no such thing as being double jointed, but you
(25:34):
know what I mean. It's just that they have incredible
flexibility in the joints that can bend them in different
directions rather than what a normal person would be able
to do. That ligament laxity usually comes from a lack
of manganese, now not magnesium manganese, and it's a very
(25:55):
important mineral that's necessary for these fibers to come together
in a final collagen product that strengthens the joints, strengthens
the muscles. All your muscle cells are wrapped up in collagen.
(26:15):
Bone cells are wrapped up in collagen. A third of
your bone is protein. The bones in your body, arm, bones,
leg bones, hip, pelvis, whatever else is a third water,
a third protein, and a third minerals, mainly calcium and
phosphorus into a mineral formation known as hydroxy appetite and
(26:42):
as where the hardness of our bone comes from. But
that bone matrix has to land somewhere. That calcium phosphorus
combination has to land on something, and what it lands
on is collagen. And the healthier that collagen is is
the denser that calcium phosphorus combination will become to give
(27:05):
you bones of steel. When you have weak collagen, because
you do not have the raw materials to put that
collagen together in a really strong, healthy presentation, you're going
to have osteopenia and the softening of bones, and that
can easily progress to osteoporosis. Again, the health of the
(27:27):
body almost always comes down to our nutritional status, which
is why I've said on the Doug Steffan Good Day
Health Show so many times in the past, and I
repeat on my local radio show in Salt Lake and
too many and my patients almost constantly. I think ninety
percent of the suffering in this country from disease processes
(27:49):
is nothing more than the extension of malnutrition. We've just
removed from our diets enough of these critical ingredients that
comes in a lot of trace minerals that our organs
simply just do not work the way they're supposed to
because they don't have the raw material to work the
way they're supposed to. So those are those are the
(28:10):
seven things that come together. Now, some people just don't
have time to make broth, I understand that, and some
people just don't want to eat a lot of meat,
and I understand that too. So I have something I
recommend in its place, and it's called calcil food. Calcia
(28:31):
food is just a veal bone that's dehydrated in powder
in the raw state, so that it's one way to
get the elements, not only for the calcium that you know,
but also the other proteins that are present that are
damaged by cooking. This is raw material. The material that
(28:53):
has gone into calc of food which is available at
forbiddendoctor dot com, hasn't been cooked. It's raw. And because
there are special proteins that are necessary to build the
protein components of your teeth, of your bones, all those
things are included in this calcil food product. But you're
(29:17):
still going to need hot stomach acid and you're still
going to need these vitamins that I'm talking about now.
There's several kinds of collagen in the body, but there's
four basic types that I often will remind my patients
of from time to time. There's type one collagen that's
involved with bone matrix. It's involved with ligaments, strength and
(29:41):
structural support of the body. There's the collagen type two,
which is the most common, which is in your discs.
It allows for joint conditioning, it allows for flexibility, it
allows for healthy cartilage, especially in the knee joint. And
so when I have patients who say, well, I think
I'm gonna have to get a knee replacement, Eyah, not
(30:01):
so fast. Let's talk about this for a minute. Let
me see the pictures, let me see the MRIs, but
let me see your X rays. Let me let me
see what they're talking about. Because knees really respond to
what I do structurally, because I untwist the knee. But also,
let's feed the knee joint. Let's give it a big
blast of the food that that knee joint needs that
(30:23):
you have not been feeding it, and see what happens.
And many times we have saved knee surgery. Then there's
the type three collagen that's involved with fasha and it's
involved with a marrow, it's involved with wound healing. And
then there's a type ten which is a growth plate
(30:45):
cartilage usually just really important in the sense of keeping,
especially with bone fractures. So I recommend calcia food wafers
chew up about four of the day. I recommend zipan,
(31:09):
which is a very passive, very powerful digestive enzyme with
hydrochloric acid in it to digest these proteins. And then
I recommend something called trace minerals B twelve, which has
those four important minerals that I talked about the beginning
with iron, zinc, copper, and manganese, and that pretty well
(31:33):
completes the package along with cataplex C whole food vitamin C.
That's the answer to building collagen inside the human body.
Now we're going to go to break I'm doctor Jack
Stockwell at forbiddendoctor dot com.
