Un retropensiero che, comunque, Marc personalmente non ha mai avuto.Il bello infatti di questo mondiale praticamente già assegnato che sta per passare alla storia è il rapporto fra i due fratelli. Marc ha solo quattro anni più di Alex, ma ha nei suoi confronti la affettuosa protettività propria dei fratelli maggiori.
Al di là dei soliti discorsi di sovrasterzi e sottosterzi, di gomme usurate, aerodinamica e stili di guida, oggi Marc ci ha sorpreso con un ricordo tenero dell’infanzia e delle prima adolescenza al fianco di Alex: “ci allenavamo insieme, ci siamo sempre allenati insieme e lui era il più piccolo, ed io quello più grande, più forte e più veloce.
Per questo Alex faticava sempre più di me. Si allenava più duramente. Soffriva di più. Fino ad oggi per lui avere lo stesso cognome è stato uno svantaggio. Magari ha un pelo meno di talento, ma il talento da solo non fa la differenza se non ci lavori sù. E Alex è quello che lavora più di tutti”.
