Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hi friends, I'm Laura and welcome to my podcast, Her
Journey Towards Change. This is a faith based life coaching
podcast for women who, like me, are on a journey
to live the best life possible. And then something happens,
something unforeseen, and everything changes. Life feels foreign and you
feel stuck and it's difficult to move forward and reaching
(00:27):
out can be hard. Right. Believe me, I know if
this is you, this podcast is for you. I don't
claim to have all the answers, but I know who does.
God wants more for us, for you and for me.
You are created to live your best life. So I
hope you will go on this journey with me to
(00:49):
a more positive perspective and take those hard steps together
through Her Journey Towards Change. Together, let's break through the
barriers which are holding us back from a what God
has called us to be. So let's go, and I
hope you will go on this journey with me. Well,
(01:23):
hello everyone, and welcome back to the podcast. I'm so
glad that you are here today. It is the middle
of February, and actually this week is Valentine's Day. And
the older I get, the more that I realize and
the more that I think Valentine's Day isn't just about romance. No,
(01:44):
I don't think it is. I think it's about love
in all of its forms. I think it's a day
to celebrate the people who make our lives brighter. Whether
that's a spouse or a friend, or a family member,
or a neighbor or an acquaintance or a stranger, or
even yourself. I think love is in the quiet moments,
(02:08):
it's in the deep conversations, It's in the laughter and
then the support we give one another. So no matter
where you are or who you are with, know that
you are loved and you can love others. I'm wishing
all my listeners out there are beautiful and heartfelt Valentine's Day,
and I hope that you'll be able to connect with
(02:31):
more than just one, but many and give that little
extra love and kindness today. And with that said, today's
episode has nothing to do with love or Valentine's Day.
I'm not sure how many realize this. My podcast has
called her Journey towards Change, but it comes from the
(02:55):
heart of life coaching. I am a certified life coach
and my main goal is holding you accountable. I'm an accountability,
life coach, and that's what I want to focus on
today episode one and one, and it's called what life
coaching really is and what It's not. So welcome back
(03:20):
to the show, and I'm hoping that you will be
able to have a better understanding. So I want to
get real with you. Change isn't always easy, is it.
We all have those moments where we feel stuck. And
I use that word a lot because that's what happens
with me. That's what's happened with me in the past,
(03:42):
and I know I'll get there again. Stuck is a
place we don't want to be. We feel overwhelmed or
unsure of what our next step will be, and that's
where life coaching comes in. Life coaching is about helping
you move forward and keeping you accountable and creating real,
lasting change in your life. It's about helping you get
(04:06):
unstuck and helping you move forward with confidence. Life coaching
gives you space to figure out what you want and
how you want to get there. It's about letting go
of what's holding you back. Through the real conversations that
I would have with you and the simple tools that
I have. Coaching helps you break free from those old
(04:28):
patterns that you've been using and abusing. Yes, we do
it many times. And it's about finally putting yourself on
the list. Yeah, it's okay to put yourself on the list,
and not just on the list. You can put yourself
at the top of the list. Sometimes you've spent so
(04:50):
much time taking care of others. Life coaching will help
you remember that you matter too, about trusting yourself and
taking those next steps. And life coaching isn't about changing
who you are. It's about becoming who you were meant
(05:12):
to be. And I want to be clear about this
right now, you are not broken. Coaching isn't about fixing
you because there's nothing wrong with you. It's about guiding
you towards the growth and finding the clarity that you
need and the confidence you want for yourself. So, before
(05:36):
we go any further, I want to break this down
into two parts. The first part is what I won't
do as your life coach, and the second part is
what I will do as your life coach to support you.
So here's what I won't do as your accountability coach.
(05:57):
I won't make decisions for you. No, I won't do that.
I'm here to guide you, support you, and I'm here
to see things from a different angle. But at the
end of the day, your life means your choices. My
job is to help you trust yourself to make those choices.
(06:19):
Number two, I won't judge or criticize you. This space
is for growth, not change. We've all made mistakes, including myself.
We've all had those moments where we're not proud of,
but we don't have to live there. Coaching is about
moving forward, not beating yourself up over the past. Number three,
(06:43):
I won't do the work for you. No, you won't.
You're not gonna see me doing it for you. I
wish I could, but the real change doesn't work that way.
I'll give you the tools, I'll give you the structure,
and i'll give you the accountability, and I'll give you
those hugs, smiles and support, but you have to take
(07:05):
those steps and trust me. You are capable of more
than what you think. And I know this because I've
seen it happen with my clients. Number four, I won't
give you a one size fits all approach. That's not
who I am, That's not what life coaching is about.
(07:26):
You are not a checklist. You're not a template. Your
life is yours, and we'll find out what actually works
for you, not just some generic plan that doesn't fit
for your life. You will help make those decisions. You
(07:46):
will help know what goals you want to do. You
will you will make those choices. This is all about
what you want. And number five, I won't just focus
on the hard stuff. Yes, we both will be tackling
(08:07):
the challenges, but I'm also here to remind you of
how far you've come. I'm here to remind you and
highlight your strengths and to make sure that you celebrate
the winds, the big wins, and the small ones, because
progress deserves to be recognized. Everybody wants a pat on
the shoulder every now and then, and everyone needs that
(08:30):
support to say you're doing a good job. So now
let's talk about what I will do for you as
a life coach. First, I will help you get clear
on what you really want. Sometimes clients, when they come
to me, they don't know what they want. They don't
even know what the problem is, and sometimes the hardest
(08:51):
part is figuring out where to start. But I will
help you cut right through the noise and get you
to the heart of what really matters to you and
help you define what your next steps will be. Number two.
I will provide the structure and a plan for you
and you will help develop that. Change can feel so overwhelming,
(09:15):
but you don't have to go it alone. I'll help
you break down the things that you are challenged with
and struggling with into manageable steps so that you're not
hoping things will change, you're actually making things change and happen.
Number three. I will hold you accountable. Yes, I will.
(09:39):
This isn't about pressure, it's about progress. I'll be there
to check in on you. I'll be there to encourage you.
I'll be there to make sure that you stay on
track even when your life gets really busy, even when
you get down and out, and even when you feel
like giving up. I'm going to be there. I will
hold you accountable. Number four. I will help shift your mindset,
(10:03):
because to me, mindset is everything. Self doubt, fear, overthinking.
We all have them, but they don't have to keep
us stuck, do they. I'll give you the tools you
need to recognize the thoughts that are holding you back,
and I'll help you replace them with ones that will
(10:25):
help you move forward. Nobody wants to stay stuck in
a negative mindset. And number five, I will celebrate your
progress every step of the way. Small winds matters. Growth
isn't just about hitting the big goals. It's about noticing
those little victories along the way, and I'll be there
(10:49):
to remind you just how far you've come. And with
life coaching, you will start from point A and you
will get to point B. I guarantee you that you
will make some progress if you do the work, and
if you allow me to hold you accountable to do
the work so you know, at the end of the day,
(11:12):
this is your journey, it's not mine. I'm just here
to walk alongside you, to encourage you and hold you
accountable and give you that little push when you need it.
But the real change that's all you, that comes on you.
So if this episode spoke to you today, if you've
(11:36):
been waiting for a sign, consider this to be it.
This is your sign. If you need a life coach
and this resonated with you, you can move forward, you
can grow, and you can get unstuck and you don't
have to do it alone. If you found that this
(11:57):
episode was helpful, I'd love for you to go over
on Apple Podcasts if that's where you're listening, and give
me a review. Reviews will help people find this podcast
and get the support that they need as well. And
you know, I'm over on Spotify and iHeartRadio and anywhere
else where you can find podcasts, and I'm usually over
(12:22):
on Instagram, so that's where you can connect with me.
I'd love for you to find me there on Laura
Conrad dot life Coach, and I'd love to hear from you.
Come over there, look through some of my content and
let me know if it's encouraging. I'd love to be
able to connect with you and other places besides just
you listening in on this podcast. I'd love to be
(12:45):

and talk with you as well. And I hope that
this episode was helpful and until next time, Love you guys,
