Finalmente, si tratta di due modelli completamente a transistor: l'FT-7 e l'FT-7b. Il primo è, sostanzialmente, una radio QRP operante solo in SSB e CW ed in grado di erogare al massimo 10 Watts di potenza; unica novità: poteva anche essere provvista di un utilissimo VFO esterno...
