After stopping we realized there was a lot more that we needed to share. How we avoided making a massive mistake in Wisconsin, our new nickname for pollution and what’s been in Kristy’s mind while stuck driving across the country. (The pic is us arriving in Cleveland)

(00:04):
All right, so we're back already. And when I say we're back already,
it names that I stopped recording fiveminutes ago, and Christie started saying
things that she goes, well, you just keep on talking. And Christy
just drove by the National Comedy Center, I believe it's what it was called,
or something along those lines, andshe asked me if I should get
off the exit, because clearly Ibelong there. So what do you want

(00:28):
to say? You were just talkingabout one of the big things that you're
excited about. It's the week beforeEaster, it's our spring break trip,
We're going to visit your family. What did you what are you excited about
doing? On Friday that we're finallythe only time this Lenten season, I'm
going to have an honest to godfish fry like it's meant to be.

(00:48):
I don't know how we live inthe Land of ten Thousand Lakes currently,
but y'all don't know what a fuckingfish fry is. Like it's gorton fish
sticks on a freaking plate with acouple of French fries. Like, what's
up with that? Pictures of whatit should be? So, did you

(01:10):
have any hot hot takes that youwanted to share from the road so far,
I was gonna wait until we didan actual, real episode, not
one taped into your cell phone asI'm driving safely. But here we go.
Let's talk about the time where wegot gash yesterday and Steve forgot to
finish pumping and Christie drove away withthe cast nozzle still attached to the truck.

(01:36):
And so then Steve goes inside becausewe obviously, like it's a safety
feature, it comes unattached. Thankgod, you know, not the first
dummy to have done that. Sohe goes inside to alert the cashier that
we were those people. And theysaid, oh, don't worry, man,
it happens at least once a day. Can I be honest with you
right now? Is that not whatthey said at all? Okay? They

(02:00):
said? Is what they said isokay? Thanks? Okay? Well I
figured that they just said okay, thanks. They didn't get me like a
look like they were horrified or becauseshe looked at it goes which one is
it? And I was like theone over there, and I'm like on
two, and she goes, okay, thanks, And then she called someone
back in the because it was oneof those loved travel trailer truck kind of

(02:22):
shops, you know, And soshe called somebody the in the tires in
the back by the tires to comeand do it. Also, when we
were walking around it's there was showers. Seven was open and so you jumped
in. So I took a quickone with someone else. Did you look
for a little gh? Okay,So now during this part of the episode,

(02:45):
I'm gonna hit this noise because I'mgonna try to figure out what does
GH mean? Oh? Now Ido Okay. Honestly, when she said
GH, I was like gh.And then because if you want to know

(03:05):
what I was honestly thinking, isbecause when I used to go to a
certain gym here in the Twin Cities, there's a guy that worked there and
he found numerous no not at thegym. Now he would find kind of
like how like some people like have. If you have like a glass shower
and you want to be able toclean it with that little um cleaner squeegee
thing, you would have a suctioncup that you could attach the squeeze thing

(03:28):
too. Well, there is oneat this gym. There was a suction
cup, but you would put yourbutt hole into really okay? See if
okay too far? Oh man,So there's are more comedy. I know
we drove by that like National ComedyMuseum back a little while ago. I'm
sure it has great pictures of peoplelike Bob Saggett, Don Rickles, Christi

(03:52):
bagat Donuts. Okay, what arethere other things that you wanted to say
that we're going to be worth it? I'm sure as soon as you'd turn
off the microphone, I'll think ofmany and make you marry. Oh.
I got one keeping, dude,I got one for you already. We
were just outside of Cleveland after wewhere we had to risk our lives,
not just because of the people, because of the track the roads. And

(04:12):
she said, what did you sayabout the year twenty one hundred? Oh?
I said, well, this hasnothing to do with Cleveland at all.
I thought, just that's where ithappened. Oh, I'm trying to
like set up so you know whereI was talking about a mental note.
So I said, fun fact,Steve, did you know that if our
kids have kids and the world doesnot implode, that those children our grandchildren

(04:43):
will live in this century twenty onehundred? Yeah? Wild? That is
wild. And I said why,Like, what made you think of that?
And you said, because I thinkabout things when no one talks to
me for eight hours, it's acar for two days in a row.
I like to think that's all. Thanks, So buckle up, guys,

(05:14):
because Christie is now thinking about thingsthat are gonna happen to seventy five years.
But I do want to point outreally quick, I do. I
don't want to interrupt the new thingthat you're helping our kids learn. That
I think a lot of kids shouldpick up. Is anytime you see something
that looks like pollution, especially ifit's like a factory, or if you're
just driving through Chicago, if you'reif you're rolling through Indiana. You know

(05:38):
what we're talking about. You seean industry, a lot, a lot
of industry. So now we taughtour children like you. I don't know
if we taught them, but Ifeel like Olivia came up with it on
her own because she's very smart. But she said, I'm gonna call that
Gretna Thunberg from now on. Shesaid, she's gonna take some pictures of
it and text it or email itto Gretna. In my mind, thou
anytime we see pollution, I say, oh my god, look all this

(06:00):
Gretta Thunberg everywhere. Dude, Greta. There's Gretta everywhere. It's disgusting.
All right. She's not making thepollution, that's why it doesn't make sense.
Yeah, but she loves pointing itout. Okay, she doesn't actually
pick up anything. I thought aboutthis the other day. Have you ever
seen Gretta Thunberg pick up anything? She gets picked up all the time because
she's protesting somewhere, protesting in theoil flats, protesting by a sea of

(06:27):
plastic. Christie thinks I'm losing it, but I'm not. But hey,
thanks for listening. That's another freeepisode from the road, about fifteen,
not even fifteen, five miles fromwhere the first one was. All Right,
goodbye. I can't wait to seethe numbers on this one. Biack

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
