(00:24):
Hello, Welcome to Julian Conversation.Today is October eighteenth. I welcome you
to the space. Whenever it isthat you're tuning in, may you receive
what it is that you need andwhat it is you didn't know you needed.
(00:47):
And whenever you're tuning in, it'salways a perfect and right time.
I'm just taking this time today tobe here with you. I'm broadcasting live
at this moment from Montreal, acknowledgingthe unceded lands of the god Nijo Kehaga
(01:10):
nation, the stewards of this land, acknowledging the people who have come before
me who are part of my ownancestry, acknowledging those who are not part
of my ancestry, but human ancestryconnected me, connecting me here with you,
(01:38):
just offering a moment of gratitude tothe scene and unseen that I've enabled
this moment. Who are you acknowledgingright now from yourself to others, to
beings seen unseen in this lifetime orin other lifetimes. What needs to be
(02:27):
acknowledged, what needs to be feltin you today? May this be a
space for you to have this timeto acknowledge these places within you that maybe
have no other outlet, but you'rein fact providing that space. So welcoming
(03:00):
you to this space that you're takingfor yourself to honor and acknowledge what is
moving through you. And as Ido this invitation and welcoming, I am
doing it for myself. It isneeded for me right now to just have
(03:21):
a moment to drop in to what'smoving through me lots, and so I'll
be keeping this podcast short and fittingthis in between some of my work day.
(03:42):
I always leave this time open. It's my two pm Eastern protected time,
and the last few weeks, thoughit's been protected, I have not
felt up to having a podcasts.Things are busy, life is happening.
(04:06):
But today, with a shorter amountof time that I have, the microphone
was calling me. Music was callingme. This desire to express something was
calling me to provide a space, perhaps for you to listen to yourself with
(04:36):
me here and others who are tuningin and just wanting to give you this
space as I give it to myselfto listen, to acknowledge, to notice,
to be a witness to yourself,to your emotions, to all the
pieces and the parts, the senseand the nonsense, and let it move,
(05:05):
let it speak, let it rise, let it be shared with you.
(05:30):
I'm just noticing your breath, feelingit move in you, bumping up
against tension, perhaps bumping up againstresistance. What does that resistance say?
(06:04):
Bumping up against surrender or opening upto surrender? Which is it for you?
Perhaps meeting some other places inside wherethere's a fight, where there's a
(06:28):
plea, where there's confusion, disbelief, whether there may be pain, grief,
(06:51):
where there may be conviction, wherethere may be loss, What spaces
and places your breath meeting and wantingto move through, wanting to open up
(07:15):
to where is it taking you?Inside you, internally, into the emotional
landscape? What's there? What's felt? What's noticed? Where is your breath
(07:41):
taking you? What is your breathbringing into your awareness somatically? Where is
(08:20):
it directing your attention? Is ita pit in your stomach? Is it
fire in your belly? Is itlove and compassion in your heart? Is
(08:52):
it terror and fear showing up somewhereand your bones? Can you give these
places space and you to be seen, to be felt, to be acknowledged.
(09:18):
How can all these places and yoube held? Can they be held?
(09:39):
And felt. What important may youneed to hold these places, to
feel these spaces and places When wecheck in with ourselves first and take responsibility
(10:13):
for our needs. If we maydo that, what might change in our
responses? What might change in howwe support ourselves and others. If there's
(10:37):
one thing I'm certain is that I'vebeen feeling very unclear and in the space
of this confusion. As I sitwith it and perhaps reach out to people
(11:05):
close to me that I feel safeconnecting with, I can just be with
that confusion among other feelings. Howdoes it show up for you being with
(11:39):
rather than struggling against a feeling? And I know that I can't rush shit.
(12:11):
Life does its thing right. IfI can slow down despite the swirling
(12:33):
around me, and take a moment, then I can find some ground.
I can find my heart and rootinto the wisdom of my heart, the
(12:56):
values that my heart holds, andthen I can take one next gentle step,
being sensitive to the cadence of thatstep, the cadence required to remain
(13:28):
grounded amidst the instability, like walkingon a balance beam one step and then
the next, staying balanced, butonly at the pace where I can keep
(13:48):
my balance. How are you walking? What support do you need to maintain
balance? Ground, connection to yourheart? How's your breathing? Thank you
(14:41):
for breathing with me, Taking thistime for yourself to acknowledge this moment and
where you sit in this moment. For being connected to yourself in this moment,
(15:13):
For acknowledging what's moving through you inthis moment, giving space, attention
(15:37):
and compassion to what's moving through you. Just notice your body as you bring
(16:18):
attention to your body and the surfacethat supports you, whether you're in motion
or sitting or standing or lying down. Can you bring attention to your belly
(16:40):
and your heart. Maybe you wantto simply focus your attention there, but
perhaps you want to bring attention withyour hands to your heart and your belly
or whatever you're feeling. Drawn toconnect what could support your heart right now
(17:29):
and your belly and what's moving init. Offering words of compassion, tenderness,
(17:55):
softness, understanding, respect and honoring, connection, love, imagining these
words penetrating, showering over you, falling gently into your body, into your
(18:18):
heart and solar plexus into your cellsand tendons, ligaments, limp blood,
love and compassion, tenderness, softness, possibility and hope, passion, respect,
(18:47):
honor, curiosity, possibility. What'spossible in this place when we open
(19:11):
to ourselves. What changes in theway we interact and the way we respond,
and the way we learn and theway we decide and choose? What
(19:37):
changes for you? What has changedsince you began listening to this meditation podcast,
this moment to disconnect to the externaland connect internally. What strengthens you?
(20:07):
What's generated? I want to thankyou for being here today, whenever
it is that you listen, wishingyou love and more of that. One
(20:41):
of my favorite quotes of all times, for all many many years since high
school, has been when the powerof love overcomes the love of power,
the world will know peace. JimiHendrix, a great musician and artist.
(21:04):
May we experience the power of ourlove. May you know the depths of
your heart, the capacity you hold. Thank you for being you. I'll
be back soon. Be in touchhowever you'd like, on Instagram, on
