False hope makes you more vulnerable to manipulation and emotional triggers from a narcissist. Understanding how false hope works is crucial otherwise, it often leads us to lose our identity and life goals. The narcissist will use future faking in an attempt to manipulate and control you, making promises that will never be fulfilled. Once we can recognize what is happening, we can then safeguard ourselves and move forward in a healthier life and direction.
