folks, but I can never mind. Who else do we have?
Nicky Jacobowski? Hi, Vicky?Hi? How's it going? It's going
pretty good. It's not snowing. That's good because you know it's May.
It's it's it's May, and itbetter not be snowing. Please. Wow.

(01:45):
Yeah, here's the here's the thingyou got to understand about Reno weather.
Mark, don't don't look at thecalendar and go it's me. It's
not supposed to be snowing Reno.Whether you know, Mother Nature when it
comes to Reno, if you saythat, we'll be like, I'm gonna
do whatever the blank blank I want? Who are you? It is snow

(02:05):
in the mountains this week? Wow? Yeah, we're gonna go from eighty
eight to uh sixty six? Yepe, Mother Nature when it comes to Reno
is like, I'm gonna do whateverI want. Hey, I thought you
could put away the sweaters and SouthFlorida it's just hot, hotter and hottest.

(02:31):
Thank you for well, I'm gladyou waited. Yeah. Usually I
cut it off entines for this one, and he took the ramp. All
right, folks, we are doinga show today, as you heard from
my little teaser in the introduction,we are talking all about Star Trek Picard

(02:53):
season three, Yes, the finalseason of Picard, and we're gonna let
Ed on the show again today likehe did with last week's Star Wars Mandalorian
Ed take her away warp speed.I'll say it again. Yeah, I'm
not too proud. Yeah, itprobably would have worked if you would have

(03:14):
put on your best. Patrick Stewartonsaid it just make it so and started,
I mean really, and we stilldon't know what seven would say.
Thanks for cutting her off, guys, we'll get We'll get to that in
a minute. But yeah, um, I think a great I think am

(03:38):
I think? Actually, um,the name of the last episode of of
Picard is probably an apt way this, you know, the last episode,
It's called the Last Generation. Andyeah, in many ways, I mean
I was about to make a jokethat we could call this, you know,

(03:59):
Piccard season three slash Star Trek theNext Generation Season eight. Yeah,
I'll give you that. I'll giveyou that. I'll take that. You
know, it's and by the wayI say that, I do not say
that like, I don't say thatnegatively. I actually I love this season.
Um, you know this season. You know, before before it even

(04:20):
started filming, they announced that thefinal season of Star Trek Piccard would be
a Next Gen reunion. Everybody wascoming back. We'd already had Brent Spiner,
Marina Certay, and Jonathan Frakes comeback, but you know, and
Brent Spiner came back first data andthen as another member of the student family.

(04:46):
But you know, Wharf and Jorty, who both you know, LeVar
Burton and Michael Dorn, you know, to expressed interest in coming back.
You know, fans wanted them back, and we got it. You know,
we got the whole Next Gen crewtogether again for one last time.
Um. Something I gotta say,you know, looking looking at it,

(05:11):
especially after the last episode, Ifeel like this, and God, I
hate, I hate, I hateto say this, but I feel like
this. You know, this thickthe sins of Star Trek Nemesis. You
know, Nemesis was not. Nemesiswas not I think how anybody wanted the

(05:36):
Next Gen crew to go, youknow, and this fixed. This was
like, Okay, we're gonna doyou know, we're gonna give him one
last ride. We're gonna give hima proper last ride. You know,
they're gonna go out in a blazeof glory. You know, they're gonna
go out in a bang, nota whimper. They're gonna go out in
a blaze of glory. And theydid. Um. And yeah, it's

(05:59):
great that the season started with thereturn of Doctor Crusher. You know,
we got to see her back andthen we got a surprise. We've got
the surprise of Jack Crusher, theson of her and Picardy. Yeah.
I have to admit the entire seat. You know, my jaw dropped when

(06:23):
I thought, well, we foundhim. And then yeah, the fact
that it got revealed that uh,Jack is his his Cards son. And
I just have to say though Iwas concerned the entire season. I was
like, please don't have this anotherfake out. I remember you said that,
please, Yeah, yeah, pleasedon't have this. Yeah, please

(06:46):
don't have this be another thing whereyou know, it's like with Jason Vigo
in that episode of Next Gin.Please don't have this be a fake out.
And it's like, huh huh.You know, we used the learning
technology and you know this to giveyou a son, and it was all
a trap had you know, hah, Card and doctor Crusher. Yeah,
I am so glad that it turnedout that nope, he's his natural son,

(07:11):
uh you know. And then alsoit's just so it was just so
nice to see after, you know, after we had in Generations the revelation
that the Card's nephew and brother werekilled. Yeah, and Card was all
about how a family line it's justdonezo. So it was nice to see

(07:33):
that Nope, let's give the Cardyou know, let's let's give the card
something. You know, let's let'slet's have him have an actual kid.
You know, let's let's let's haveit that the card line was going to
keep going and going and going andgoing, because you know, it looked
like maybe not Yeah, yeah,Um, I had to admit there was

(07:58):
a part of me like I wastrying to figure out, like, how
old is Jack Crusher and are theygoing to actually like use the fan theory
that the reason doctor Crusher was notaround for season two was that she was
giving birth to their son, whichisn't the case. Yeah, and in
this case, in this case, after the events of Nemesis, they did,

(08:20):
they did. They were a couplefor a while and yeah, yeah,
they hooked up from that liaison createdJack and it's like, okay,
all right, that's fine. IfI remember correctly, they hooked up a
number of times because they kept goingon again off again. Yes, there
was that was part of the whenyou uh, he's her captain they worked

(08:43):
together on the line, yes, well, and then and well and then
let's also not forget the gilphant inthe room that you know they were friends
first, Yeah, for a longtime for that and not to mention that

(09:03):
hard. You know, there's thewhole thing hard and Jack Grufts are senior.
Yeah, so it's like, okay, yeah, that's a little that's
a little um. You know,it's yeah, I don't know if I
want to date the guy who wasin command when my husband got thrown up.
It's like that would I think itwas a very difficult relationship and I

(09:26):
think it definitely showed in um inthe series, in the movies, all
the way through now that you knowthey they had this connection, probably because
they were friends for so long andevery time they try to make it romantic,
something blew up. And at theend, you know, he was

(09:48):
off being the card and she wantedmore for her son after essentially losing Wesley.
You know, he may be outthere in the universe, but she
hasn't effect loss him. He's notnormally in her timeline, and it just

(10:09):
you know, that would be difficult, and as a mom, I could
see where it'd be like, youknow what, this one, I'm not
going to screw up this one.I'm not going to put in that danger.
I'm going to go off and domy own thing. And the funny
thing was that she's still because ofher nature, which is why she and
Picart always would work so well. Her nature was to go out and try

(10:30):
and save the universe, which isjust as dangerous is trying to explore it.
She just didn't always and it wasobvious from the opening, the opening
scenes where we get to see herand Jack and everything. I mean,
that is pretty wild and that isjust a good old fashioned star trek,

(10:52):
you know, battle to the death. It just was like, yeah,
okay, So later about her bigspeech of you know, protecting her son,
It's like, well, sweetie, you got yourself into a few scrapes
there, now, didn't you.Yep, Well, then you know that
does bring us? That does bringus? Um it seemed, you know

(11:13):
from all the all, like theit's interesting because all the trailers and stuff,
there was a big bush for Amanda'sAmanda Thumber's character Vadic, yeah,
being the big dad and then youknow, just trying to figure out,
oh, what's your deal? Whyis she after a card like this?

(11:33):
And then it's interesting how laid out, you know, like we eventually had
that Vadic was not the bad thatshe was under orders from somebody else.
You know. We would have thosescenes where she cut her hand off,
you know, and uh, youknow, and then the little little thing
would pop up and it's like, hey, what's going on? You know

(11:54):
want Jack Rusher, What's what's up? What's up that? How's that going?
You know? I have to saythat every time we got a little
bit more information, I love theway that this always had me guessing,
yes, yeah, I had theories. Some turned out to be right.

(12:16):
Most of them were like because Ididn't have all the information, of course,
Yet as we got more and moreinformation and we got to learn more
and more, I'm like, Idid not say this coming this way,
and it made it very enjoyable becauseI couldn't predict very well what was going
to happen, and they was alwaysa curveball in every episode, and you

(12:39):
go, really, it's just likebetween that and the Easter Eggs, I'm
just like, Wow, you justreally made me happy. Didn't check something
I do something I do want tobring up because you know you mentioned you
know, yeah, I gotta saywhat it was revealed with the changelings were

(13:01):
involved in the seedings. Yeah, like the first of all, the light
bulb went off, you know,It's like the light went off in my
head because it was like, oh, trust no one, and then we
saw was change things. I'm like, oh, fuch, oh I got
it from episode one. Should havehad it there, No, Yeah,

(13:22):
because it's well, it's the hindsight, and it's just it's like suddenly when
you find out it's the changelings, everything you saw previously, it's like oh
oh oh yeah, it's like Igot it, I got it okay now.
And also look what I learned isthat once you know once, the
once you know the it took ittook like about three episodes to deal with

(13:46):
that initial confrontation with vaic Um.Yeah, I think yeah, I think
so. Yeah, it was likeabout three episodes, you know, where
you had that that you know, the whole the whole thing in the Nebula
and the score kind of trying todeal with Ratic and Vtic just being you
know, like five steps ahead, you know, like like when they you

(14:07):
know, when they fired everything ather and she just opened up that you
know that you know, that wormholereckon and it's like, great, we
just fired on ourselves. That waspretty cool. Um. I think the
effect not to mention, I mean, if you're gonna, if you're gonna
cliffhang. That's a great cliffhanger.Yeah, but yeah, it just threk,
you know, it go opped. It was just it was just so.

(14:30):
Then when we moved to like thenext phase of it, where you
had everybody on the Titan essentially beingfugitives, and it's like, well,
where do you grow because we canhow do we know that the so we're
talking to is in a change link? We go here? How do we
know that the change links aren't gonnatell Starfleet where's the Titan brought up?

(14:52):
You know, and they're gonna andthey're gonna just to do the job because
why would they, you know, not trust the person because you know,
we're look insane. You know. It's like it's like that level of tension.
I love it, um the everythingI love Okay, so a little
you know, or you know,I do have to say that, uh
in the next generation. At thefirst when this character first showed up,

(15:16):
I did not like them. I'mstill not a huge fan of them,
but I've developed an understanding, Likeas I've gotten older, I said,
oh, okay, I think thisis why I don't like them. So
there was the the two parter chainof command, right I originally was not
the biggest fan at all of CaptainJellico. I was not a fan.

(15:43):
I thought he was a massive jerk. I'm still he was. Here's the
thing, I'm still not a hugefan of Jellico, but I understand now
he's just he's the tough boss.Yeah. It's like it's not that he
doesn't care about anybody, it's thathe has to be tough. So it's
like, Okay, he's a jerk. But you know, it's like,

(16:07):
okay, I get it. Iget it. Not a fan, but
I get it. Same thing. This was a character that I definitely wanted
to make sure we spoke about.Same thing with Captain Liam Shaw. I
oh yeah, no. When hefirst showed up and he was like telling

(16:27):
the card you know, no andyou know, here at the Carden Riker
and it's like okay, you know, and he just it felt like there's
this level of sarcasm and just youknow, yes, general and and the
fact that he was you know, and the fact that he was giving like
as soon as he started giving sevenof nine greet and even calling her Hanson

(16:52):
and just a lot of people aresaying it's like the eqivalent of dead,
naming somebody yes, you know, and not respecting her as her and yeah,
and it just you did you lookedat this guy and you kind of
wanted to smack it the smile offspace although well the other point with the

(17:12):
away missions and the deaths and andhe had a good backstory reason to be
h Yes, I'm let see,I was just okay, I was just
you know, see Mark, Iwas just gonna get to that. Okay.
It was like as he's as he'slike ragging on hard, ragging on
seven and then it's like a partof me. I looked at Trish and

(17:33):
I said, this guy's a survivablethree five nine. I thought that anything
he survived with three five nine, and he's got it. He's gotta beat
and loan hold that's seen on theholiday on the holiday version of its in
forward Lounge, it's like, LAMO, call me, you know, call
me call me a beata z.Because I read that. I read that

(17:56):
like a book, you know.It was that Indeed the case he survived
will three five nine, and hewas bitter about it. And it's interesting
to look on his cruised face, you know, look on their faces as
the crew looks at Shaw, andit's like they're just like whoa, you

(18:17):
know, just the shock on theirfaces. It's like I probably had the
same thing, you know, otherthan the year I guessed it. I'm
just like Roy Man, like, this guy's got This guy I just kind
of wonder, I mean, didthey just after he after he survived and
everything, he just kind of putthem back into circulation or did he just
ignore doctor's orders and go and goback, like, you know, into

(18:41):
service, Like I kind of wantto know more, like give me everything
please, you know. And Iended up, Yeah, I ended up
liking him because this was just sucha complex character and I was like,
come on, we got to geta series where we get this guy's backstory,
where we find out exactly you know, where we get more of the

(19:03):
backstory and we get more of itmakes this guy tick. You love a
good complex character. You always more. That's how you know that he's well
written and that everything about it justin your head. The more you want,
you know that they've done a greatjob with this character. And the
fact is that by the end ofit, you're right, we actually really

(19:25):
love him. I wanted a Shawin nine TV series. Oh yeah,
No, so did I so rightclose, like you have the you know,
okay deep please nine we had alittle bit of this between Cisco and
Kiab and then a little bit withGene, Wayne and Chakote. But so
the most part, you know, first officers and captains, they're so stico

(19:47):
and they're so you know, ina group. We're interesting to see that
we got this. You know,we got an explored and then we got
somebody who was trauma because of theboard and they got to work together,
and it's like, oh, althoughfact that at the end, you know,
yeah, we end up not gettingit because well strong you know,
sacrifices, yeah, save you know, to save the crew. And then

(20:11):
when he said when he said likeoh um seven, yeah, then it's
like I just absolutely just oh mygosh. That was such a powerful moment,
Yes, because you felt the charactercompletely well rounded, recognized Ror with

(20:37):
seven of nine previously, and hisrespect for her was it was real.
What set something upset me? Umabout social media and it wasn't anyone's fault
out Okay, before I saw episodenine, I was a couple of days

(20:57):
after it came out. When doesthe sacrifice? There was a post on
Twitter by um By Todd Stashwick, who played Shaw, basically looking at the
camera, you know, just sittingthere looking at the camera, getting up

(21:18):
doing a Vulcan salute and walking outthe door. I'm like, oh,
come on, you're you're telling youwhen you're no longer in the Star Trek
series. What does that mean?Totally totally ruined that from Yeah, yeah,
no, that is that is alittle and hopefully do not listen.
Hopefully they've watched the show before they'relistening to this podcast where I just did

(21:42):
that to them, don't spoilers.Yeah, yeah, no, yeah that's
true. Um, yeah, no, I I feel you. I mean
I I don't think I got itspoiled for me, per se. I
just think that. Um, Ido think that. Um, I don't

(22:07):
think it was supporlled. I thinkyeah, no, I do. I
do think I didn't get spoiled forme. But I saw something I didn't
see. I didn't see that fromTodd Stanwick, m But I saw something
and I'm just like, you know, like like my alarm went off and

(22:29):
I'm just like, oh no,no, no, no no no no
no no no no no no,no please god no. Um. And
then yeah, the episode I'm justlike ah man, but but I wanted
I wanted my seven. I wantedmy seven, and uh, I wanted
my seven and and uh and Shawseries and I'm just like oh that said,
though, I think something that pushingthe blow m for me was that

(22:53):
final scene where we had seven andfirst of all bringing to rock back,
Yeah yeah, yes, like well, first we had changed in Tuvok,
and then I saw social media,Yeah you Relton on social media and said
I did two episodes of Tuvok. This was one, and I'm just like,
okay, so come on, let'ssee real Tuvok. Let's see,

(23:15):
let's see. And then finally whenhe showed up the end, I was
just like okay, yay, realTuvok. And then that scene between him
and seven, yeah, you know, the whole the whole request denied.
You know, when she's like, okay, I just want to leave now,
can I Can I leave start fleetnow? And he plays Shaw's like
log where you know he talks aboutseven, and it's just like okay,

(23:40):
yeah, no Shaw, Shaw. It's like, yeah, we have one
last scene with Shaw and it's likeokay, hey, everybody who you know
at the start of the series wasgiving Shaw grief. Why don't you feel
stupid now? You know? Andthen just like and I'm just there on
watching this and I'm like, youknow what, I take it, man,

(24:00):
I take it back. You knowthat was just that was beautiful and
the fact that he's just like, you know, he's he's basically cutting through
the you know, cutting through alot of his PTSD and just being like,
you know what, I got issues, but I got issues. I'm
not you know, she's not myfriend, but I respect Yeah, exactly

(24:22):
exactly, And it's just like, you know what, yep, all right,
you got me, you got me? You know, you know I
I I think a lot of peoplehave gotten me. I think I respect
a lot of people, and Irespect our audience, Sarah Mark who Footie
Universe, respect them enough that we'regonna tell them we're going to a commercial

(24:44):
break. Sorry guys, but we'regoing to a commercial break. When we
come back, we're going to talkmore about the card series, series or
season. I guess it's an Americanshow, season three three. So please
stick around here on Subspace Radio Network. We'll be right back. Don't go

(25:06):
after this. Stand By Houston. We are receiving signals from Subspace. You
are listening to Mark Who forty twosUniverse. Welcome back to more of Mark
Who forty twos universe here on SubspaceRadio Network. I'm your host, Mark

(25:26):
Baumgarden with me today our EDWARDO.M Friar and Dickie Jacobowski, and we're
talking all about Picard series. Idid it again, Picard season three.
I'm thinking so much about being Britishtoday with the coronation at the end of
the week Picard, and I reallyshould Picard season three and Ed's gonna continue

(25:48):
to lead us on our way throughwarp speed. I don't know. I'm
just making it something as I goalong. Ed And remember, if you
want access to our secret content, the patchword is Salt and Peppa Live from
New York. Sorry, head throwthat in there at least once. Actually,

(26:12):
I didn't have to. I wantit to see this. Uh,
this is happening when I'm in theCaptain's chair. There you go. Did
you know did you notice that almostanybody and everybody got to sit in the
captive's chair on the Titan? Thatwas about how many think about how many

(26:36):
people set in that chair during theseason. Yes, there was a lot.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yep, yep, we did have a
lot of people sitting in that chair. Of course, seven, seven got
it at the end. That's horrible. That sounds horrible. Seven got at
the end. Did she die theway you said that, the way you

(27:03):
said that, it totally was misrepresentingwhat happened. No, No, you
know exactly, you know exactly whatI was saying. I know you know
exactly what I'm saying. But yeah, you know, all the revolving the
revolving door with that top to thischair, but the one who you know,
the music stopped and when it stoppedfor the last time, Seven was

(27:26):
in the chair, and which hedeserved. Yes, I know that.
After the final episode, Uh,there was a meme going around because it's
like it's a clip from the firstseason where Seven goes, you know,
you will be a ship card andlo and behold it look a couple of
more seasons. But you know,Piccard, Piccard is a man of his

(27:51):
word. You know he did getuh, he did get seven her uh
her ship? Yeah, and didyou get a ship? Yeah, yeah,
we'll get We'll get to that ina pintive job definitely, because wow,
there's there, you know, um, I'll see this. I mean
we're talking. We talked for theCommercihip break, you know, we change

(28:14):
things came back. We had changedthe too long. I gotta admit that
Cliffhanger where like Er was a captiveof the change links. You know.
Uh, when we saw that pianoTroy was there too, I was just
like, please tell me that, you know, please don't tell me that.
Um, We'll just start to thenext episode. It's going to turn
out. Oh, it's actually aTroy change ling. It is funny every

(28:37):
time you saw someone you're like, are they change ly? Yeah? They
are they change? Are they not? And you found yourself going, okay,
what are they gonna know? Whatare they gonna Okay, you know
what's the tests they're gonna give peopleto find out who's real and who's not.
Yeah, especially since one of thefirst things to the antil I was

(28:57):
feeling that the teen things that foundwith a brown starting leaps detection grids.
So it's like, oh, rack, okay, we can't even can't even
do that, can't even do that? Uh, you know anymore that's been
you know, that that little thatlittle that has been taken out, and

(29:18):
it's like ah, well, itwas never a good test to begin with,
to be honest, you know, testing the blood was never a good
thing. We already knew in UMDeep Space nine that that test was already
not working well, and then Cisco'sdad had gone on about equating it to

(29:41):
the blood tests of ancient Earth, and it just it's one of those things
that UM I like the way thatthey dealt with the fact that it was
never a positive thing. It wasa negative thing, and although it was
born of it, you know, kind of makes me think about some wars

(30:04):
that have happened throughout human history, where things have happened that we now look
back on and we regret to endof war, But what what was the
options? What what could we havedone differently, you know, Hindsights twenty
twenty and looking at what we didto the changelings um as A as a
federation and the horrible then torture thatthey were put through to turn them into

(30:30):
essentially a weapon for them. UMit just it was fascinating storyline that that
ran like a current through the entireseries, and it was very powerful and
very moving, even when you knowthese particular change lands were clearly UM hell

(30:51):
bent on revenge. You still feltfor them, You still hope that maybe
at the last minute they get somesort of catharsis and be able to move
forward. And it was kind ofsad when Amanda Plumber's character parish into a
million pieces. I'm sure if she'dever be able to come back again.
My husband and I were debating aboutwhether or not if she was broken into

(31:15):
a million pieces in space, wouldshe ever be able to connect again.
Maybe maybe not, but still it'sjust the fact that she died never having
realized something beyond her revenge. Yeah, yeah, yeah, no, it's

(31:36):
um, I meant h streams herewith another you know, with another franchise.
UM. In the movie Batman,Mask and Fantasm, Alfred does tell
Pat Manny he's like vengeance, blackeness, soul, Yes, right, so

(31:56):
you know, and it's just yea, she went in whole hard for vengeance
and getting Jensens into stay freezing upand then you know, shattering like a
like an icicle running into a movingcar. It's like, yeah, it's
it's an unfortunate and you know,uh, you know, she just went
all in, Yes, she justwent out. She was just like nope,

(32:19):
nope, I'm not you know, this this ends when I get he
want in the federations too. That'sthe only way this is gonna end.
And it's like, Okay, youknow you you play that game, and
it's chances are that's what's gonna happen. You're gonna you know, and the
end is not, um, it'snot gonna be Yeah, it's gonna be

(32:42):
that you know you're going to Yeah. But of course then there's the more
complexity of it that is not justthe change things. Then the change Loins
are so bent on revenge, orat least the subgroup of them are,
they're so bent hung revenge that theyhook up with the borg waiting, because

(33:05):
I mean, how do you dohow do you do? How do you
do an end cap to Next Generationwithout bringing the borgain you had to and
you know, something had happened.Made a lot of sense when they were
saying when when Picard was saying, they were saying like it never really left
him, that it was always apart of it in him, because during
Next Generation he always had that likevoice in his head. Yes, and

(33:30):
so he definitely had something in him. But and then I know that he
passed that on to Jack. Yeah, but I want you, one of
you scientists out there, or maybeone of you two too, in lame
in turns, explain what was goingon with the transporter for all those years?

(33:50):
What did the bar because I understandit, but not completely can either
of you, Well I understand it, Edward, they understand it. What
happened with the transporter? Yeah,is but first of all, you know,
one of the chemisteries at the startof the season was that uh changelings

(34:13):
broken to the dates Tron station wheresection thirty one keeps all of its hidden
top secret goodies and stilled. Yeah. We later find out that that something
was the original organic body of CaptainCard right was it had it still had
you know, it still had likenano traces of technology They took that put

(34:38):
that into the you know this, you know this universal pattern for Star transporters,
right, so that anybody who usesthe trend in the vengeance that anybody
under I think it was what htwenty five, Yes, a part of

(35:00):
their brain was fully functioned, soeveryone under twenty five would be able to
be controlled, Yeah, controlled bythe port. So basically, if you
never used the transporter, those nanoswould be in in you so like,
for example, it's a you know, althree of us are over twenty five,

(35:22):
Let you use it even if theside you're not affected, right right,
Like let's say, uh, there'sthere's you know, your steps on
Sam Mark. Okay, I'm gonnatake a guess and say he's under twenty
five, yes, yes, okay, so he would be affected he was

(35:46):
over twenty five, would not?Yeah? Yeah no, just like you
know, my little sister she hastwo you know, she has two toddlers,
they would be affected, right,Okay, So I'm just w we
did we remember the fifth appearance,we did see a baby board, Yes,

(36:07):
we did. I remember that, and and in and in a grogure
we did see like a child board. Yeah, yes, we did have
board kids, so that there ispersent for that. Um yeah, but
moving on, I do you knowthat does bring us You know, Georgie

(36:28):
came back with this season when wedid get his two daughters, one of
which was played by by his realdaughter, which was so that was really
cool. And I love that youhad this you know dynamic. I love
the dynamic that you had you know, one daughter who was at her dad's
side, not exactly agreeing with him, but at his side, and then

(36:52):
you know the other one who's off, you know, doing the explorer pything
like Dad did back in the day. And I just love how the two
like, he's all set, he'sall hot to drop to get you know,
that honor on the Titan awes, and she's like, no, Dad,
I'm not going to abandon my buddiesbecause you know you're getting all yeah,

(37:13):
freaked out, you know what's goingon. H And then you know
the other and then of course yoursister like so sorry, sorry, let
me talk. You know, itis interesting and it is interesting also that
for something that supposed to be thecelebratory reunion, you know with the next
Gen cast, that it wasn't simplyjust hard walks into groove and everything.

(37:37):
He's like, yeah, let's doit. Yeah, okay, Yeah,
you know I'm gonna get out ofthis. You know, I'm gonna get
out of sitting here in the museumand you know we're gonna go. We're
gonna a card call. He answered, Yeah, that's the way it is,
on on on. You know, when you've got a team that worked
together for that many years and wentto the thinking. What I'm saying is

(38:00):
it was interesting that, you know, the card called charity answered, but
it was still like I'm like atad now, yeah, you know,
I'm responsibility. Yeah, we gotother builities. Do we really need to
go into this, you know, like like come on man, you know,
yeah, come on, dude,you know I can't. I can't

(38:21):
just you know, at the dropof the hat, you know, help
you, you know, especially becauseyou're like considered, you know, gonna
mean number one right now. It'slike, yeah, it's like, dude,
come on, you know, Igot a family here. You know,
you can't just show up at mydoor. That said, though,
the sleep the Fleet Museum, God, we're announcing here, but yeah,

(38:42):
we're aouncing is fun. Yeah, the look the Fleet Museum. Worst of
all, the first time we wentto the Fleet Museum, it's like,
oh, you had to defiant hadvoyage, which, by the way,
I can understand why seven about allI could fell she was getting all nostalgia
leepy. Yeah, when she wasshowing the ship's jack rasher. Um,

(39:07):
fine, we had we had theone one that we're not expecting. Seeing
the bounty HMUs bounty. Yeah,I thought for sure that the bounty was
at the bottom of San Francisco Bayand there she will stay. But seeing
her in the Fleet Museum, Yeah, and then we had we did have

(39:30):
an old school um, you know, had an old school constitution class,
which, by the way, actuallybut it's hilarious on this and I'm like,
oh um, if you remember theScotty episode from Next Gen, yeah,

(39:52):
I did say he saw a Constitutionclass starship in the Fleet Museum and
people there's the new Jersey. Yeah, there's a new Jersey. But I
think being made my jaw drop thatI was just like, omg, oh

(40:13):
man, I loved all those ships. It was like my entire childhood.
It cancelated and it was so cool. I think the Creamide supplies out of
the Fleet Museum had the you know, as we're setting up in the final
episode, you know, Hard andCompany, it's like, okay, we

(40:35):
gotta take there gone one last timethe ship. How do we do this?
And then we see her, Yeah, we see e was foward.
It's like, oh my, It'slike that's like that's definitely miss So I'm
not growing, You're growing. Andit was just so it like I think

(41:00):
the other one. The other thingthat comes to mind is what Kurt said
at the end of Star Duct fourm you know my friends. Yeah,
it was just it was just sooh man, it felt that full circle
kind of knit right there. Yea, yeah. And I liked the fact

(41:23):
that there was a plausible reason thatthey could have the d there because they
couldn't leave the saucer on the planetbecause of the prime directive, right,
that work for me, No needto explain anything else. No, it
would make perfect sense. And whenit crash landed on that planet, it
did exactly what it was supposed todo. And although it was damaged,

(41:45):
it wasn't damaged beyond and it couldbe retrieved, it could be fixed it
at least good enough for a museum. So it kind of makes sense.
And I think about um, bothin military non military, the number of
ships that we've brought up over theyears and the things that are then put

(42:10):
into the museums, and it blowsyour mind when you look at some of
this stuff and you look at howwell preserved some of this stuff is except
for maybe a hole somewhere, youknow, And and they bring it up
and they put into museums and youlook at it, you can practically touch
it. Some of them you canwalk through, and it just it's I

(42:31):
feel like it's that sort of sameconcept that we've taken what we do now
with ships in the ocean, we'regoing to do the same thing with ships
in the space, and so makesperfect plausible sense. If you've ever walked
through San Francisco, Hawaii, upand down the East coast, you will
see places where ships are out therethat you can touch, walk in,

(42:55):
see feel smil that were in theseamazing situations were lost and then found.
So and also also I like thatI had an explanation how the you know,
how he is running around that Jority'stime sounds hard to replacements that was

(43:17):
gone, you know, oh thanitself aren't exactly you know, right,
I know, you know somebody hadsaid something, um you know on social
media that he heard complaining that weright didn't It looked just like a did
in generations. And it's like Ywas the Shorty was one messing with this

(43:37):
while he was in the Fleet Museum. And you know, just like when
Scotty had the heartbtack bring up hisdentipation ship. It was the old Constitution
three refit Cordy wanted to look likeit did in its heyday. Not you
know, not not with the darkenedlights and you know, the extra stuff.

(43:59):
It's like, No, this isthe Entrise d living its baby when
it was on its original you know, his first seven years. That makes
sense. You think about what porecars. Yeah, try and get original
pieces exactly, ever going to lookexactly the same because it wasn't the same
this and the same that. Soor you know, you're also you're all

(44:22):
gonna want to if you're restoring something, there might be a certain look that
you're going for. So even ifit isn't, you know, even if
you know so, Yeah, exactly, And by the way, I have
to agree to card I mentioned tothe carpet. I mentioned to the carpet.
The carpet was built. You knowwhat, I'm betting. I'm betting

(44:42):
back in the day there was onlyquite a few bridge officers that just took
off their boots and just you know, walk with their their feet in the
carpet. I could see that.Yeah, you know, there's Riker,
he has his shoes off and thenyou know, the church lift door opens
and you know he scrapped back tothe man chair and it's like kind of
try to shootle fizza. You knownobody can notice. Uh you know,

(45:04):
I'm pretty sure that happened. Uhoh god, I think Okay. Other
than other than the fact that wegot the deep back, which was just
such a great moment. Um,I gotta say the MPPs for this season.
M yeah, I love, Iloved, I loved, I loved.

(45:27):
First, Rafte was talking your contact, I was like, you,
actually you actually questioned me on thiswhen I when I was just starting to
watch it, because it was Iwas a few weeks late, and You're
and You're going, who do youthink the contact was. I'm like,
uh, well, I can't bethe eye. I don't know. And
I was just taking steps in thedark, and Ed goes, Ed goes,

(45:52):
no, look at what Listen towhat he says, the pattern of
what he says, you should knowit. Get it. It was worse.
I felt the same way. It'slike I didn't get it at first,
So Ed, nice job. Iwas like, I know this,
I know this, Cadence, Iknow this what it was driving me nuts.

(46:14):
And then when they show it's him, I'm like, how in the
world did this that? Oh?I love, um, I do love,
um, I love. Big Worthintroduces himseller. That was just hilarious.
How you know, how's the barktalk? How you know? So

(46:37):
you gall you know this? Wouldyou like some tea? It's just dates
like the past episode. Okay, that's that's like, ok now, I
meditate now I'm now he's talking toand he's always offering tea, you know

(47:00):
what. No, and then he'stalking to Troy and there's biker kind of
like, you're close to my wife. She's married. Now It's like you
can tell he's just getting a littlebead um. I think the other thing.
The thing is that they showed inthe trailer for season three the Lord

(47:21):
is coming back. Yeah, andthey also go another surprise return was Moriarty
Yes, yeah, yeah, Andyou know what, it's one of those
things. It's like you watch thetrailers and you're like seeing Lord back,
It's like, well, yeah, you gotta have Frin speinerback somehow. Then

(47:43):
seeing how he palp back that sectionone sided to take pieces of beef,
pieces of pieces of lower law andcreate this cybord gallum, and then just
the mental battle be the child's resarchinghimself, especially that moment where he's with
your and you see the art thething honoring Tasha Yar and he brings in

(48:08):
spot and all this. It's justthat's like I was like, okay,
I see now, and then gettingdata back, it was just like yes,
yes. And by the way,I think he's one of the most
I think that. I think theBrent Spiner has one of the most hilarious
line other than Worth introducing himself andending it with like our racing jects.

(48:32):
Other than that, I think theother funny line goes data where he and
Jordy are talking and you know,Data's like the chances of success are incredibly
high, and you know, Jordygoing people little positive which Data responding I
quickly She's like, okay, that'smy season right there. There you go,

(48:54):
Okay, there you go. Funniestline boom um and then the more
Ard thing. But he was thissecurity AI. I thought it was just
yeah and then yep and then ofcourse how that leads into the revelation of
data. Yes. It's like he'slike it calls to going back and fall.
It's like it's like, yep, you're still alive, dude, and

(49:15):
you're in hell. Yes, tellyou that. Um. When he was
giving his memories UM to lore andI was, um, very emotional.
It was just so emotional. It'slike, oh my gosh, yeah,
it's so much. And my husband'slike, oh, he's tricking him.

(49:37):
And I'm like, I was sobusy getting tied into the memories and my
memories, and um, I'm like, oh my gosh, he is.
And then you see where it justthat is a logical, well thought out,
subversive plan that works so beautifully becauseyou knew Data had to win.

(50:02):
He had to because otherwise he changedthe whole other way. So well,
now see, that's the interesting thing. When I, you know, I
heard this season was coming up andthat it was going to be the Capper
the end, I was under theimpression, okay, they could kill someone
off because you know they're ending it. So I kept waiting for someone to

(50:24):
get killed off. You know,Worf gets gets stabbed, Okay, he's
got No he's still there. Uh, Data, No, he's still there.
I kept, you know, tryingto think, when did someone get
killed? And you know, Iwasn't disappointed at the end, but I
was surprised they didn't go They sothat means it may not be the Capper.
They could always do more, whichyou know they were saying they weren't

(50:46):
going to, but they could wellcould they could. But I like the
fact that it was about kills. They didn't, you know that like even
though this was the last the lawon the Next Gen crew that they're not
going to kill someone off because youcan have that last adventure yea, and

(51:07):
have it not be that it hasto you know, it has to end
in death, right, And itwas great. It was great. First
again, you know, I wastalking at the start of this episode about
how I'm glad Chack Rutcher should endup being a fake out right, I'm
also glad that it didn't end inJack Crutcher dying. Yes that you know

(51:29):
Hard Hardt what you know, Hardgot a son and he got to keep
he didn't have to because I can'thave to feel the just in the hands
of somebody else, right, anemotional you know, you would have a
whole full circle thing, and youknow, Jack Crutcher would end up dying

(51:51):
in the hand, you know, end up dying, you know, sacrifice
himself to save everybody for the board, and you know just big did end
up that note. I'm glad thatthey could not, Like it's okay to
have a happy ending. It's okayfor the Kaffer to be were good now,
you know, we're good. Youknow the d's say they do get

(52:12):
