F1-update: Max Verstappen stelt dat Red Bull de problemen nog niet begrijpt, dure crash van Piastri?
De zaterdagse Formule 1-actie in Brazilië is uitgedraaid op een debacle voor Red Bull Racing. Voor het eerst sinds de Grand Prix van Japan in 2006 sneuvelden beide Red Bulls al in Q1. Teambaas Laurent Mekies erkende dat het team risico’s heeft genomen met de set-up en dat het daar de prijs voor moet betalen, al voegde Verstappen toe dat Red Bull ook nog niet weet waarom het zo moeizaam ging. Het zit volgens de Nederlander in ieder geval niet in de Mexico-vloer, aangezien hij met een oudere specificatie reed. Ronald Vording bespreekt het uitgebreid in een nieuwe aflevering van de F1-update, net zoals Verstappen die in het vierkantje zeer duidelijk was over zijn eigen titelkansen. Verder natuurlijk aandacht voor polesitter Lando Norris en het contrast met Oscar Piastri, die tijdens de sprintrace (wederom) een kostbare crash noteerde. George Russell grapte nadien dat Norris daar Mario Kart speelde door een banaan te gooien, al sprak Piastri simpelweg van een ‘domme fout’. Verder aandacht voor de positieve uitschieters van Andrea Kimi Antonelli, Isack Hadjar en Pierre Gasly, de zware crash van Gabriel Bortoleto en een dag met twee gezichten voor Ferrari.
