we are going to wrap up the Buffalo Hills storyline
with parts five and six. So let's go ahead and
get into that. Sit back and enjoy Buffalo Hills Part five,

the Week and the Oppress Dalliant fight her court, truth
and justice, who was faster than an airplane, stronger than
a locomotive, who comes from Interstellar's face, but who walks
the Earth as mild Clark Kent used reporter for the
Daily Planet. When we last saw him, Superman as Clark
Ken had come to Boulder City in the Buffalo Hills
with old AASA hat scientists and photographer who covered the

dedication of a new national monument. On their way west,
they had discovered a plot against the reform Governor L. J. Carson,
and Kant had allowed himself to be carried off by
the gang in the Governor's place in the hope of
learning their plan. The gang had thrown him in the
lake and less him, not until Kenned overheard them say
that the gang chief himself de Flores, was back at

(02:46):
the executive mansion. Hearing the worst, Kennedd broken his bonds,
flashed upward out of the water, and returned only to
find the governor gone. As our story continues today, Superman
is still running through the silent rooms, calling, coming to Carson,
all right, govern to Carson, Governor, sign of it. At

(03:08):
the door of that closet wasn't damaged. He hadn't even
forced the lock. What's that footsteps? Someone's coming? It's that
devil Flores, whoever it is, is coming down the hall
outside the door. I'll change back to Clark Kent till
I know who it is. We're all doing that, Pellow,
Wait a minute, who's that back of the curtain? Gosh?

Is that your Governor's a hatch? And my damn fellow
coming awhere? Have you been? What's happened hatch? What's been
going on? From what my old friend Conson tells me?
We all have a little explaining to do. I thing
we have, we're beginning we do, young man, I'm sand
you a newspaper man named Clark Kent. That's right, Governor,
say arm Monty. Sorry, I had a lot in that closet.
I didn't want to, but it was just touch and gold.

I forgive me to tell me it was all in
a good course. But what happened to you? Where did
you go? Same to you, young man? What happened to you? Wait? Governor?
About five seconds after I locked you up, the gang
came in the window. One carted me off. My dear fellow,
who was he? Our old pal Dutch again. Hatch remember
Dutchy in DJs. Well, Dutchy and his pal breezed in

the window, stepped the bag over my head and carried
me away in the car. But what then, how did
you get do? Oh? I don't know. I just they
got tired of something. Anyway, they rolled me out and
I came back and here I am, But look, how
did you get out of that closet? When I came
to after a while and began kicking and yelling, and
the God came in and heard. And of course the
first thing I tried to do was called for the police,
and I couldn't why not. That was the first thing

that suggested you might have been right then. So I
caught off my car and I went down the headquarter
the question and the first person he saw, my dear fellow, myself. Yeah.
Luckily they were giving all the kings a tough examination.
He wanted to know where he came from, and all that, Oh,
tremendous excitement, jail, great business escaped. They thought I might

who visited the car of the guard officers and the
courtyard below, who crept through the shadows, who placed a
certain small object well down in the cushions of the
rear seat, an object which would stay hidden and unnoticed
till the car reached the most dangerous portion of the
mountain road, and then do its work, still hidden, still unnoticed.

motion unusually soon getting up there, Andrew Maxim, Yes, the

Now they're fully clear off the cliff and down into
the valley. But be a thousand. He got to dive

Can't what happened? Why are you driving? Of course the
matter with Max, it's all right, governors, we had a
little accent, went through the guardrail. Everybody fell asleep. Must
have been a league in exhauce. Yes, came up in
the cart that we went through the car. Figure night,
it's right and narrows. The car got banged up a
little lucky it still runs. Oh, here comes Max and around. No,

ask me, governor. I guess we should have left the window. Woman,
you mean to shave should I can't believe if we
went through the card rail and didn't go over the
crypt iraculous. I don't remember a thing. Say you've can
pull up now, mister can't. That's the office. We've got
to the moduling. If you ask me, we're money lucky.

(11:39):
After we got back on the road, I didn't think
this whole buggy go at all yard where I'm a little.
I guess what about I am appeared to have been
sadly bumped and bruised by him in personal persons unknown.

Someone has been here before us? And the question now
is who and what would both have told us? If
he's being allowed to live? Sudden appalling mystery of the
Pioneer's National Monument.

Speaker 1 (13:17):
There's a hatwright. Did someone call on Colonel bolds to
make sure that he kept silent forever? And if so,
what had he found out? What strange piece of news
that made him call the governor in the dead of knight?
And above all, what terrible danger unknown to everyone creeps

All right, so we have some nice little bit of
dialogue here where the characters explained a little bit what's
happened to the governor and so forth. And it turns
out that the governor's okay, and Hatch is out of jail,
and they got a group together and they're on their
way in a car and something mysteriously tries to put

(14:19):
them all asleep. I suspect that this was carbon monoxide,
but at any raised some kind of gas. And we
also find out, if we didn't know before, that carbon
monoxide or gas has no effect on Superman, which is
good because Superman is the only one in the car

(14:42):
who is left unaffected by it. And we have this
amazing rescue seen here where Superman flies out the window,
jumps out the window as the car is tumbling over
the cliffs, and he rescues the car, excues the people
in the car, and you can just sort of picture

(15:03):
this in your mind. This is the beauty of audio,
the beauty of radio, where obviously we can't visually see
this scene happening, but we can visualize it in our
minds of this car sort of maybe turning over and
banging against the cliff as it's falling down, and Superman

(15:25):
swooping in to save the day. Pretty pretty cool. We
also have another cliffhanger here where we found out that
what was it Colonel Burrows. I believe something like that
he had something to.

Speaker 1 (15:39):
Tell them, but he is.

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Dead, and so who did it?

Speaker 1 (15:46):
Well?

I suspect it was Floor Race or his henchman. All right, everybody,

an urgent summoned, only to find that the Superintendent, with
some of them, was mysteriously dead. Our story continues today.
Some time has passed. It is the morning of the
dedication ceremony that the new Pioneer's National Monument can't pleading

(17:25):
with the Governor not to take part. Listen, well, there
goes the clerk. Gentlemen, half past ten. If we're going
to be ready for the great unveiling at noon, better
be on our way. Governor, Please, I'm not talking to
my hat honest. Now, look here, you've been talking for
the past half hour, and you haven't yet produced a
single valid reason why I shouldn't go to Buffalo Hill. Oh,

(17:47):
my dear Carson, that's hardly ten. Look here, say two
nights ago the superintendent was mysteriously killed. Since then, too,
watchmen have fallen off the base of the cliff. How
that doesn't prove something's going to happen today, do please?
He's right, my dear fellows. So I look here. You've
been taking pictures of the cliff. Happened from various angles.
Who is indeed for the last two days where you
haven't noticed anything queer?

Speaker 5 (18:07):
Have you?

Speaker 1 (18:07):
We have cars in the dask of the pot would
hardly appear in a photograph, all right, But nobody else
knows that anything queer either, and we've had guards all
over the place. Governor Floris is a dangerous man, and
he is up to something, and I'm convinced of it.

above and beyond the giant poppings on the stone, Lauren

man in that car on the cliff. Good things, Superman
has telloscopic eye tied. Quick now I'll tuck back of

(22:47):
Thanks Heaven for hatches pictures. I'd never have noticed that
car is the same one they use the kidnap me
and and the man in it. I'm not sure yet.

Speaker 1 (22:56):

He'll expose the whole way. The avalanche is touching on. Yeah,
the plim will fall in. The Governor Florid is in
the tunnel right now. That's all I need to know.

Speaker 4 (23:36):
I'll handle the.

Rash and Florrie is cool down that tunnel fast here

Speaker 5 (24:03):

the top of the cliff.

in the rush of wind, steal muscles tens superman that
fires the mountain one final owner, huge, massive rock, bounding
and spinning in the air.

Speaker 5 (25:02):

Can deflict it down that Kelly yet miss the clip
clean and this most crowds down below, I don't know

Speaker 1 (25:18):

though some tremendous hand came down and threw back the

rocks cut. No one hurt on a trace of damage. Gosh,
I think I missed all that, And my dear fellow,
the pictures I got. Oh, look here come to Governor
hell Cat where quite a bit of excitement. Hey, well,
I can't say we didn't warn your governor, can't That
was an accident. If you think you could lay that
to Flores Well, and anyhow, I'm still here. If it

was Flora's work, where is he? Oh? I say I
was wrong. There was someone hurt? What was that? Where
up on the cliff? It seems there was a car.
It started off just before the side, and when the
avalanche falled down that gully, the car I was right underneath.
For who was hidden, Governor, We'll never know whoever it
was bonfellows are buried under tons of rock or fellas.
Don't you believe it? Who spoke for kind? My dear fellow,

what get you your voice? What do you mean? Sorry? Gosh,
I guess I was just carried away. Say you were
right about Flora's governor. You'll never touch you now, Well,
I was never seriously alarm Kent. I was, but I'm not.
Now everything's all right. I haven't got your pictures, mister hatchhah,
my dear fellow, beauties, wait till Teddy I sees him,
and wait till he sees my story out solong, everybody.

I've got to find a telegraph wire. The governor saved
in the nick of time, Flora is removed by the
rock slide which he himself started, and Clark Kent with
another scoop. Once again, Superman has served the forces of
law and order. Rescue the champion of good government in

the heart of the Buffalo Hills. Next week, another thrilling,

I love how in the beginning the Governor was like,
mister Kent, you haven't given me any good reasons for
not going to Buffalo Hills tomorrow. And I was thinking, Yeah,
that whole thing where Floor Race and his men kept
trying to break into your mansion and kill you. I

(28:42):
thought that was a pretty good reason. I don't know
what good reasons in your book. I don't know how
they are defined. But anyways, and then.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
And then later on.

Speaker 3 (28:59):
We we have this moment at the end where Superman
rescues the Governor and the bad guys are well, they're stopped.
And I love at the end how when the Governor
and Hatch were like those poor folks that were lost

(29:20):
in that rock slide or whatever, and then Clark mistakenly
switches into his Superman voice, and the Hatch is like, oh,
what was that, mister Kent, what was that? That was funny.
I really like that. So I don't have a whole
lot to say about this episode. I really enjoyed this

(29:48):
sort of mystery and the suspense and not knowing what
all was going to happen, and so definitely a lot
of fun. I also really liked this character, Asa Hatch.
He was a bit eccentric and different and I really

(30:13):
like that, and I would love to see him as
a reoccurring character on the show. Unfortunately, I don't think
that that happens, but that would have been really cool
to have seen him be a reoccurring character on the show.
I really do like these sort of sad characters that

(30:36):
they throw in, and we will see several of those
along the way. Some will be reoccurring and some won't.
But I really do like when they sort of throw
in these extra characters that are a little bit different,
and I think it's pretty cool. All right, that's going
