Lampe and Andy Pittman. Oh big thank you to our
sponsors G ANDM Motors. Our first Yes is a former
Lion who played as a forward. He came through the
Sheffield United academy. That's something new to me. He joined
us from Non League Halifax. His goals at the Shay

(03:07):
earned him and moved to mial Wall in June twenty fourteen.
He scored seventy seven goals in two hundred and thirty
eight appearances for meal Wall before joining Stoke City in
June twenty nineteen. After two seasons in Staffordshire. He went
on to play for Darby Canty and Sheffield Wednesday, which
I think is a support we check before returning to

(03:27):
Mansfield Hand who ended his career. Let's warmly welcome the
fantastic Lee Gregory.

Speaker 6 (03:34):
Hey guys, to Lee, Hello guys, Hey Lee Anny, Lee, Hello,
good evening you're okay, Yeah, good good things.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
God, here we go, Lee, it's said here. I was
all right about Sheffil Wednesday.

Speaker 6 (03:50):
I am a Sheffield United supporter growing up Ohio.

Speaker 2 (03:57):
That's a good start.

Speaker 7 (04:00):
No, it's all.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
Oh, so we come on to that bit a bit lighter.
It's one way if you bet on the show off
you hung out your boots at Mansfield. I wish you
all the best. But now that you no longer have
to miss out on the festive season due to the
impacts of football, wand and your family? What's your players
for Christmas?

Speaker 7 (04:22):
This year?

Speaker 6 (04:23):
I'm going to go to every social possible. I'm going
to drink as much alcohol as I can possibly can't,
and I'm going to really enjoy it. That's what I'm
gonna do.

Speaker 2 (04:32):
You've got a few years to make.

Speaker 6 (04:36):
Yeah, you know, to be honest, this is probably the
first year I'm going to actually really enjoy it. Like, no,
I wouldn't say I always enjoy Christmas, but it's gonna
be the first year that I can just actually relax
and not worry about when to drink, when to eat,
what to eat, what to drink. So yeah, I'm gonna
I'm gonna I'm gonna enjoy this one.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
I'll tell you what happens to you really shout the
size of me.

Speaker 6 (05:01):
So I've been running around that many times. I don't mind.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Well before I let you off to the guys I
got because I obviously made that mistake. What was it
like playing for Scheffel Wednesday then? If you was a
cheffel genoiting thing?

Speaker 6 (05:16):
I absolutely loved it. It's I loved it. When you're
in football, it's different because as soon as you put
that shirt on, you're getting paid to do a job.
As bad as it sounds, you paid to do a job.
And I actually I loved it. I was at home,
all right. I got a bit of stick from from
my friends more than anyone, to be honest, but I

(05:39):
can handle that. But yeah, I know I loved it,
honestly loved it.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
Did you play scheffeld Genod when you was No?

Speaker 6 (05:44):
Unfortunately I don't know. No, it'd have been nice to be,
It'd have been nice.

Speaker 7 (05:50):
There you go.

Speaker 2 (05:51):
Well, I think Andy's got a question for you, Lee, No.

Speaker 6 (05:54):
Problem, High Lee.

Speaker 8 (05:56):
Your debut for US was in the ninth of August
twenty fourteen, when you came on as a sub when
we had had leads.

Speaker 2 (06:02):
That was your first taste of the den. What was
it like for you?

Speaker 6 (06:06):
I was nervous as hell. I was nervous. Yeah, obviously
I didn't know really what to expect, but yeah, it
was it was. It was a good experience. I had
all the family down and my mom and dad's brothers, sisters,
everyone was there to watch. To be honest, I should
have scored. I know I got the pen, but I

(06:27):
should have scored. But no, it was it was. I
was nervous. I was very nervous.

Speaker 2 (06:33):
Apologies for what I called you when you knew Lo scored.

Speaker 6 (06:37):
Yeah, it's fine. I thought they called them myself anyway,
so it's fine. We want anyway.

Speaker 8 (06:46):
Also, I don't know if you know about this, but
we'll say something going on with the Irish landing the
team that season because for Dy Dunn and Williams a
math twenty five yellow cards and Williams are two reds
as well.

Speaker 6 (06:55):
That THEA because the Irish is just aggressive little that's
what it is. They must just go to like anger
score when they're like when the kids they're just they're
just angry little for all the time. Oh yeah, they
just they just love a scrap, don't they. Let's be honest,
the iris just love a scrap.

Speaker 7 (07:17):
Iris. No, you're all right.

Speaker 2 (07:25):
Rightly, But she heard that so you might can I
give you in a minute.

Speaker 7 (07:29):
And only it's George, Have you a mate? Yeah it was.

Speaker 9 (07:34):
We dropped into League one the following your first season. Yeah,
the mill will release something like thirty players. I can't
believe this from my fruit to the following January, but
one player rejoined us from Brentwood, Brentford and he was
he's still playing the dark. I can't believe this, still
playing for Talking Wanderers in the National League. And that

(07:55):
was Tony Craig.

Speaker 6 (07:57):
Is he still playing? He was older than I was,
That's what he says.

Speaker 9 (08:02):
He's still playing the dated doing Wanderers in the National League.

Speaker 7 (08:06):
And you remember, what.

Speaker 6 (08:10):
A guy, What a guy, you know what, one of
the nicest guys you can meet in football. Horrible on
the pitch, just but he had that winning mentor he
just wanted to win. He didn't care what it took.
He just wanted to win. And you need that in
your team.

Speaker 2 (08:25):
But what a guy.

Speaker 6 (08:26):
T See. If you, if you ever hear this, TC,
hang your boots up because you were old when I
played with you. You've had enough? Come on, encouragement player.
He just loves the game and obviously it shows that
how much he loves it if he's still playing now,
I wish I could still play it to be fair.

Speaker 9 (08:47):
I mean, you know, many Millile players who have played
alongside Tony have noticed he's the pit of me, of
a player who you know should be. He is training, diet,
drinking and abits and all of the model.

Speaker 7 (09:00):
What do you reckon that? Is that true or is
that nonsense?

Speaker 3 (09:05):
Is you know?

Speaker 6 (09:06):
Is it true? Is a professional And let's be honest,
you don't get to play? How old is TC now?
How old is it.

Speaker 2 (09:15):
To be mobility in football?

Speaker 6 (09:24):
You know what?

Speaker 10 (09:25):
One of them?

Speaker 6 (09:25):
School was all week and then just play on Slady
that's it? Yeah, such a good pro, such a good
lad and it was it was a great players having
the dressing room.

Speaker 7 (09:40):
Yeah sure he was.

Speaker 11 (09:41):
Yeah, Dave halt here you need to high speed conversation
with Tony. I don't know. He talks so fast even
as you know, I'll find it hard to understand him
at anyway. Many players say that one in Millwall is
one of the most memorable moments of their careers. What

(10:03):
was it for you that major tie with the Lions,
such a great experience.

Speaker 6 (10:09):
Everything for me, everything from the club, the fans, the
dressing room, the staff, like it was just because before you,
before I went to Millwall, obviously I was telling people
I'm going to play with for Millwall and as soon
as you say Millwall that I don't know about that.
But the moment you're in that door, You're literally part

(10:33):
of a family, and it was. It was the best
time I've ever had in my career ever. And I
still and I've always I always say it now, I
wish I never left, wish I never left. But you
always think the grass is always greener on the other side,
don't you. So I shouldn't regret what I did, but
I kind of do regret leaving Millwall at that time

(10:54):
because I just I just loved it. I absolutely loved it,
and it was everything about it just it just even
just speaking about it now just makes me so happy
that I actually I was down there and did what
I did for for Millwall and come out as as
one of the all right guys, not one of the
ones that everyone hates.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Quite it was never mean, that's all we have to
remember has never been always it was always It's like
a way of encouraging players.

Speaker 6 (11:35):
You know what, I got it. I actually got it
from from the get go. I got it and I
got loads of stick. Yeah, of course it did. But
the end of the day, you pay your money to
come watch us, and you just want us to work
as hard as we can as a minimum, and sometimes
the games don't go your way and you get sticking.
Sometimes they go your way and you get all the credits,
so we have to take it with both. So yeah,

(11:56):
I enjoyed it.

Speaker 11 (11:57):
I loved it, and therefore a game at Wembley at
the end of the sixteen seventeen season was just un
for better devil your contribution in particular, and has that
left a lasting impression on us to this day. I
love sharing this story with you and everyone listening. We

(12:18):
sneaked into the playoffs by just a point over South
end of the final day after that game down at
Bristol Rovers and we thanks to a goal from Sean
Hutchinson and then we were six points behind Bradford. I'm
curious what was the mood like with the team and

(12:40):
the staff when we lost the Fleetwood away and even
more so when we were defeating Free Neil at home
by Oxford before going to Bristol Rovers.

Speaker 6 (12:54):
Let's be honest, we should have gone up the year before,
to be honest, but we should never been in that
situation in the first But we should have gone ab
automatic the year before, but obviously we didn't, and it
was do you know what, I can't really remember the
fleet would I remember the Bristol Rovers game, remember everything
about that game, and I remember I think we was

(13:17):
tuning up I think at one stage, and then Hutch
turns up with a with a header from a from
a corner last few minutes and we're snooking. But it
was one of them. When we got into the playoffs,
we we were just like, we're winning this. Nothing's going
to stop us now, whereas as before the year before,

(13:39):
we was kind of like we should have gone up.
So it was kind of like on a downer, if
that makes sense. So it was going to the playoffs
on on basically just we're gonna win it because the
confidence was was sky high. So that was the difference
between that that year and the year before. I can't
really remember the games before that, to be honest. So

(14:00):
I can't really tell you. I think I just obviously
just blanked out. Yeah.

Speaker 11 (14:06):
Yeah, the Sconfold game early, you know, just the three
tow win for me was was great. I mean I
can remember after the game walking through the car park
and bumping into you and having a phototake and have
you a bottle of Budwiser in both veins, So it

(14:28):
was absolutely great.

Speaker 6 (14:30):
Yeah, that's just what. That's just one of them away
games that just lives, lives forever, like it were just
what a game and it was just obviously that the
support we get we got it was it was amazing.
So that that makes it as well. And it's always
nice getting to Embley. Let's be honest. No, Will always
seemed to be there, weren't they always?

Speaker 9 (14:53):
Yea, it takes them doing, takes the doing to do
it to you know, a season after the because most
pig we've they found one season they go down.

Speaker 6 (15:02):
Yeah, a little bit, the kind of.

Speaker 9 (15:06):
Yeah, for two seasons I thought it was good. Going
to get there a second.

Speaker 6 (15:10):
Time, Yeah, No, it was.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
It was. I don't know how much I believe you.
Nearly at the start of this year was telling us
about this Christmas You're going to let yourself go because
you ain't had a drink for twenty odd years and
there you are with two bottles of bad Wise.

Speaker 6 (15:24):
I never said I didn't have a drink. I just
said I'm gonna have a lot more to drink.

Speaker 7 (15:28):
All right, you got back for Christmas all that time
ago later.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
That's what about the Bradford game? Do you remember much
about it? But obviously Wembley and all. Yeah, of course
you had a vital not vital. I think if I
remember rightly, I was just sharing to someone what do
theld Gregory doing out? He ain't touched it? And then
you've got a slight glance on the bullboo and made

(15:58):
mister Morrison yes, and he was in the becking and it.

Speaker 6 (16:03):
Yeah, don't Honestly, this is why if you see me
with the ball out there, I give it to Willow
as quick as possible so I can get in the
box out of the way. Yeah, you know what, the
final games and the never the best games are there.
It wasn't It wasn't a great game.

Speaker 12 (16:18):
I think.

Speaker 6 (16:20):
It's the day out when it's the result, and that's
all you want. And I think I was just so
relieved that Morow was their backstick, just to tap it well,
to smash it home. That when he actually went in,
I looked at the clock and it was so late,
and I was thought, finally, like we've we've done it,

(16:40):
We've done it, and what what what? I think the
only only fans to run on the pitch at Wembley
as well.

Speaker 7 (16:51):
Quite a few.

Speaker 9 (16:55):
I think every time we turned up we set a
new record of sound.

Speaker 7 (16:59):
So but we better.

Speaker 2 (17:04):
Yeah, when that ball came across, I was so pleased
that you didn't edit properly, because you've done exactly what
was needed. I don't know if you've been to do it.

Speaker 6 (17:16):
I don't know what obviously, I was so far out.
There's nothing else I can do. I just thought, just
flick it on and hope for the best. In hindsight,
that's it. Flick it on and hope for the best.
And and don't know what. Morrow has been flicking on
all these balls for me over the over the years,
so we played together that it was nice to flick
one for him because I never I'm cracking my head.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
So it's weird though you said it, I mean, obviously
made a football. I'll watching my time. It's funny how
some partnerships just work because you just seem to know
where one another is instinctively happens. I always thought you
and you have Morrow ended.

Speaker 6 (17:52):
So yeah we did it said it just clicked. It
just clicked. Like we weren't the best friends off the pitch.
It's not like we're hung out all the time off.
Don't get wrong with I don't think he's.

Speaker 7 (18:03):
Right, because no he ain't a miserable.

Speaker 6 (18:14):
But no, it's just it just on the pitch he was.
He was very intelligent and you know what, he helped
me out a lot. We as time at Millwall and yeah,
I like playing with Morrow.

Speaker 2 (18:28):
It was funny because more have done the same as
you come from non league football.

Speaker 7 (18:32):
Yeah it.

Speaker 2 (18:33):
A brilliant career, was it because you played with Jamie Vard?
Yeah Eifex, didn't you?

Speaker 6 (18:38):
Yeah yeah yeah, But he was just like he was
just phenomenal, Like he wouldn't do anything for eighty five
minutes and then he just get the ball and score
three and three minutes and you're like, oh there is
he was just that he just had something special. It
was just it was just different, who is your chance.

Speaker 2 (18:54):
To redeem yourself with Steve? Who was the best partner that.

Speaker 6 (18:57):
You played with Moorrow listening the must be I'm waiting
for your fun is going to tail text me tomorrow
saying you're laying bastards.

Speaker 2 (19:19):
Brilliant, brilliant listening to Yeah, I know you're qualified electrician
as well, so we do research on this. Have you
returned to that train or you're doing something different?

Speaker 13 (19:31):
Now?

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Do you know what's so funny? Funny? It should say this?
Because so I buy I source houses now for for
players to help build their portfolios, and then one of them.
So I bought houses as well in my career just
to get a steady income coming when I when I
finished and one of the tenants has moved out and

(19:52):
the house is an absolute mess. So I had the
builders just basically rip it to shreds and start again.
And I've just been doing it myself, to be honest,
just having a laugh with it and going on that.
I turned the water on yesterday and it leaked everywhere,
so yeah, great, so I'll have to pay a plumber
to come.

Speaker 2 (20:13):
Where you finished on the league. I'll just move myself.
And I was going to ask you if you can
calm down and sow me. Yeah, but I don't worry.

Speaker 6 (20:21):
You've got swim shorts. You'll be all right.

Speaker 7 (20:23):
So you just lost that job.

Speaker 6 (20:29):
Yeah, I just I just I like to just I've
just been keeping busy, to be honest, obviously just recently retired.
I've just I got a bit bored for a little bit,
so thought I'll just do a bit myself and quite
enjoyed it. Actually, don't you.

Speaker 2 (20:43):
Know, seriously, I always think of yourself. Football is such
a full on thing. I know you all as fans,
guy and run on the pitch, but yeah and yeah
wit the champions. Yeah, it's it's two days training and
a match sort of thing. And then all of a
sudden if you've returned, it's a lot that just it.

Speaker 6 (21:04):
Yeah, it was nutsy. It was literally. Remember when I retired,
it was like tired on a Friday. Saturday. Sunday was
okay because obviously got the family and then I took
the kids to school on the Monday and I come
home and my wife went working and I just went
starting off. I went, well, now what, and she just went,
you can't sit here, get out of the house. I
was like, all right, yeah, So I think we all

(21:27):
went to the gym for about four hours that day.
But yeah, it's nuts. I've been I've been a bit bored,
but I'm starting to find away a little bit now.
So I'm doing all right?

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Is that the name of your local part of the gym?

Speaker 6 (21:46):
I'm going to the gym? Well have you not got no?

Speaker 2 (21:51):
She's saying to a girl. Make season. My husband was
the only one that goes out to the gym and
cams back getting bigger and bigger. Yeah, that's true, It's true. Right, Well,
before you leave us, Lee, we run a thing every
week called Change Prediction League, which is my prediction league,
and we have three matches that we want your predictions for.

(22:14):
It's coming week and we start off with we have
it lines and we're at home to so absolutely Funchouten
last week Fentpont. You see that.

Speaker 6 (22:27):
They've just got a new manager and there I'm not
I don't know because our backmil wall of the weekend
and they're just and god did they can't blame me
for that now, you know. I don't played for him anymore?

Speaker 7 (22:48):
Does we carry on doing too?

Speaker 6 (22:50):
Is it is it at home?

Speaker 7 (22:51):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (22:52):
Is it at home? I'm so coming to the Densol
is tricky. I'm going to go. I'm going to go
with a horrible one. N'll win mill War.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
We settled for that. I think might be the injuries
we got, we're settled for them. Yeah, they other guy.
Next game of basically is Leicester at home to Sheffield
United and obviously they your side or new Day.

Speaker 6 (23:16):
You know, I think what I think chef Few now
will after their derby went on Sunday. I think they'll
be very confident now and I think they're going to
be one of their teams that's going to go on
like a ten to twelve thirteen games unbeat and run.
I just they've got them that in them, They've got
the players, they've got their injuries back. So I reckon
they're going to win in the same mill Wolf Fames there.

(23:39):
When you talk about your arm, that's what we think.
We're going to go on every nice.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
So I'm going to do agree with your boarder Wye Cheffield.
You know it four too many good players to be
where they are.

Speaker 6 (23:50):
Yeah, and I think it was a conference thing and
I think just from Sunday now that's just going to
give them the kick up the arse that they that
they needed or wanted. I suppose. But I'm going to
say a two to one win chef United.

Speaker 2 (24:04):
Two wintership, you know, and the last game is even
the sides can do anything. It's Wrexham at home to Blackburn.

Speaker 6 (24:13):
Oh jeez, I'm going to go wreck them just because
one of my mates is there. A couple of mites
of there actually, and I don't know anyone at Blackburn,
so I'm going to go rec and I'm going to
say they'd like to score a goal or two. So
I'm going to say I'm Blackburn God. They can they
can win for or they can get battered. For now

(24:34):
I'm going to say to nil.

Speaker 2 (24:40):
Nil kind of mate, Well, thanksfully so much for the impredictions.
There's a chance you might win a prize. It might
be useful to you. It's a plumbing course.

Speaker 6 (24:53):
I need that.

Speaker 3 (24:54):
I hope I do it.

Speaker 2 (24:57):
I really appreciate you orders.

Speaker 6 (25:00):
No one really, it's been a pleasure anytime.

Speaker 2 (25:03):
We wish all the best for whatever you do in
the future, and I'm sure hopefully you'll come back at
another time.

Speaker 6 (25:09):
Will do any time anytime. Just give us a shout.

Speaker 7 (25:13):
Cheers. You can change.

Speaker 9 (25:16):
It's changing your old clothes early.

Speaker 6 (25:18):
And I'm going to take I'm going to take the

Speaker 7 (26:46):
I know none of you have watched my videos.

Speaker 9 (26:49):
Thanks for yours important on the way. It is now
time to hear what all the Merwell teams.

Speaker 6 (26:57):
Are up to.

Speaker 2 (26:58):
Come on there weell Bengs is always Elis and Paul
Loading brings us the Millwall Romans and prize update.

Speaker 14 (27:07):
Hi.

Speaker 3 (27:07):
It's Paul Loading at the mill Romans with a quick
update for the week were cracking result for the Pride
team who hosted Newcastle Panthers on Sunday down at Saint Paul's.
Newcastle coming down for the weekend and so this is
the geth of sen Shielder League that we've entered this year,
playing teams across the UK. It was a really good
result from them. They ended up beating Newcastle nine. Nice

(27:30):
clean sheet for them and cracking result. The Romans team
traveled down to Southeast London to play charlt On Valiants.
Child have got two teams in the league this year
in the Top League due to Valiants getting promoted last year.
They completely cleaned out that league last year and now
they stand in the Top Division with their other team.

Speaker 15 (27:53):
The game started off quite well.

Speaker 3 (27:54):
Romans I say dominated for the first fifteen minutes, scored
within the first five minutes.

Speaker 15 (28:00):
We thought it was going to be our afternoon.

Speaker 3 (28:02):
However, they did set up quite well at the back,
so we're playing a low block, which was difficult and
frustrated us.

Speaker 15 (28:09):
We still went into halftime one nil.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Second half and Charlton made a couple of substitutions, playing
a couple of quick strikers up front. Romans just didn't
seem to settle at all. We are passing was wayward.
We did create a couple of chances, but nothing clear
cut at all. Our main chances came from set pieces
and unfortunately, within about fifteen to twenty minutes of the

(28:33):
second half, charlt One did score to bring the scoreback
to one one. As much as we kept pushing and pushing,
it wasn't going to be our afternoon. A bit of
a disappointing afternoon and a bit of a disappointing performance
from the Romans, but as positives are we do take
a point away from them.

Speaker 15 (28:49):
So onto this week where Romans are.

Speaker 3 (28:53):
Hosting the Stokey team over in East London, They're coming
down to us to play at Saint Paul's.

Speaker 15 (28:59):
That will be a call to past four kickoff this Sunday.

Speaker 3 (29:03):
Predictions this week I think I've got to go for
Millwill so Millwall two to one against the Southampton Leicester
shuffled win Savage United and I thinks I'm going to
go list to three to one for Big on that
one and then Wrex and Blackburn.

Speaker 15 (29:18):
I think there's going to be a one all draw.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
The Lionesses were a way to bark In last Sunday MCTS.
Kyle Bennett shares the story for Maritime.

Speaker 16 (29:28):
Radio Mill Lionesses were defeated six to one by Barking
FC on Sunday afternoon. Without a goalkeeper to outfield, players
stepped up and between the sticks for forty five minutes
each and gave a valiant effort. Canita Throp scored the
Lioness' goal and Ted Jones' side will now look ahead
to Sport London Fee on Sunday as they look to

(29:49):
go again stronger than together a.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
Tough result there after making significant improvement, learn from their
lion this is and we go again. When Saturday arrived,
faced Portsmouth for frem Park and unfortunately didn't quite go
our way. Did you see it?

Speaker 7 (30:06):
Andy?

Speaker 8 (30:07):
Wasn't one of the best, was it. We've been fast
a few times a season now. It's just just painful
to what so I don't really know what was going
on with the formation. So it's hard to put out
a team with the amount of injuries with God, but
you know, it could have been a little bit more coherent.

Speaker 2 (30:23):
Yeah, I mean what I would say though, Georgie was
a couple of cracking goals in there that they scored.

Speaker 9 (30:29):
Yeah. Yeah, I think we've had some good goals scored
against us recently. And the thing that worries me, and
I'll be honest with this, and I know we're eye
up in the division, so it seems a bit of
a strange thing to say, but I think our forward
play or the balls that we're giving out forwards, he's
really been off this season. I mean, we're playing with

(30:51):
one man upfront. I'm not sure that it does. Whoever
is playing upfront on their own is doing the many
favors whatsoever. And we're last year we were playing with
two forwards. He's changed it a bit, and I think,
you know, the last third of the field we're just
not giving We were just not doing very well.

Speaker 7 (31:10):
And I see that as a bit of a weak spot.

Speaker 2 (31:13):
As far as guy next to me, George on Saturday
stand and I made him right, we seem to be
very reluctant to put the ball into the box, which
is pretty frustrating for the likes of a vent Yeah, no, no.

Speaker 7 (31:33):
Getting the ball, you know.

Speaker 9 (31:34):
And that last third of the field is where we're
really I think we have struggled all season. I know
we're doing well in the eyes, but I think that
forward play abouts that final third we're really doing quite poorly.

Speaker 7 (31:48):
Actually yeah, yeah.

Speaker 2 (31:50):
Well, very good thing about it, David was that when
we went down to ten men at least we showed
a bit of fight. I mean, I know, and he
said we got fresh and the was that was a
better side on the day. Paul's with no doubt about that.
But we did show a bit of spirit there. Want
to come back to one, Yeah, we.

Speaker 11 (32:06):
Did pick it up a bit. But you know, as
we all said that the defeat we have had this
season have been born by more than two goals, and
that's the thing that I don't like to see. But uh,
we were this business about playing one up front. I
know people say four four two is old school. Well

(32:28):
for me, I think you need two players up front,
which you know, someone needs to be knocking that ball
down to renovates to that's onto It can't could bring
the ball down as I merely got the goals Saturday,
but that's that's just just the way it is. Our
injuries don't help. Are you going to play up front

(32:51):
with you four four two if you do play? It
was but it was nice to see that Sturge is
only a concussion, so hopefully, yeah, we all right to
the weekend.

Speaker 9 (33:04):
I don't think really well because he has to have
ten days off, don't he?

Speaker 2 (33:08):
Yes? Many a week after yeah, but little. I think
we lost to a better side on the day, but
then we moved on to entertain Shetel Wednesday. In midweek
against Wednesday we got back to winning ways. When this
Saturday comes. We faced Southampton at the Den, the Saints
Tomtown Royal Borough team five to one at the Valley.

(33:31):
They won again at Saint Mary's midweek as they hosted
an improving Lester.

Speaker 7 (33:37):
On the road.

Speaker 2 (33:37):
That winn at Chelton was impressive and showed that Ecker,
their newish manager, they've got them back on track. Another
win midweek of Southampton shows they are on a run.
The likes of McNamara and Doughty returned at Pompey and
showed some fong, but the loss of Sacho and Sturge
to injury and Brian to a red card. For Brian

(33:59):
is a free match ban will with these returned on
Saturday and help us back to winning ways despite our
current form. The book is a US at seven or
four to win, a drawer to the one and a
Saints win nine to four titles.

Speaker 7 (34:16):
Tight game.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
What do you reckon? I'll start with you, Dave. I mean,
Southampton always going to be a difficult side. I'm a
bit surprised that they sort of had a bad start
to the season. But what do you reckon they?

Speaker 11 (34:28):
Yeah, Southampton will are always an odd team to play
against them. It's a tough, tough working team. They control games.
They like to keep the ball passable, which they do
quite well. And we're decimated with numbers with our team,

(34:49):
so it's going to be a bits and pieces sort
of team that we brought out. Will we just have
to see who we've got fit to fight some of
the weekend.

Speaker 2 (35:02):
Yeah, And I sort of agree with that. And they've
got that little piece of the nearly Swab I won't
and aren't strong upfront for them. Always seems to score
against us. And what do you reckon about Southampton as
the whole I must be with a temporary manager and
it's always difficult, but they seem to have had a
bit of a spur from that manager. I mean, my

(35:26):
mate was a Chilton fancy to meet over the best
team we've seen down there this season. What do you
reckon anding?

Speaker 8 (35:33):
I think they've got to start picking up and they Southampton,
you know their film's improving, but you know they have
got some quality players, so but you know, hopefully we
can scrape our way past them.

Speaker 2 (35:45):
I think we'd all take a scrappy one. You'll win
on sady, don't you. But George, that's a surprise to
me the free sides that came down in Lester, Southampton
and Nips which have all seemed to have struggled to
a certain extent, but then the league's so tight that
they only have to go on a run of a
few games and they could be back in with it.
Obviously Southampton included in there.

Speaker 9 (36:07):
I think they will said. I think, you know, it's
a little bit like Jeffield United, as Lee was talking earlier.
I think you'll find that these these teams, I mean
less than the other day I thought looked and you know,
I know we had a good afternoon, but I thought
they looked a really good team. And I think Southampton

(36:28):
these teams sometimes just build up here of steam. They
don't start off great and you know they've all come
down the league and they're all doing not doing some
will I think it's rich are the same. I think
they will all as the season moves along, they will
all move up the league because basically because of their
parachute payments and the players that they don't always work out,

(36:50):
but the players that they can buy are much better
than most of the other championship clubs. And I think
a lot of the time, cream comes to the top,
and that's why these teams end up at the top
of the league. It's it's not rocket science, you know, No.

Speaker 2 (37:04):
I think I think part of it, George is when
they come down sometimes some of them something that as
you say, they've always got the quality there. You know,
he was talking to le earlier about Chefford United. I
can't believe with the quality of players they've got they're
in a position that they're in at this moment in
the in the season. But I certainly don't think they're
going to be They're not you stay the cream rises it.

(37:24):
So these three sides that we're talking about, I think
we'll slowly but surely come into form. Sometimes the players
it takes them a while to get going. But listen,
I think we can. All we can hope for is
a proper meal Wall performance against Southampton. Regardless of what
position they are in the league and we are. You
can't take them lightly. Just think about what they done

(37:46):
to Chilton last week. Let's make sure they don't they
don't do it to us. And yeah, interesting thoughts there.
But my prediction for the game is old and I
forgot what did I predict?

Speaker 3 (38:04):
Well?

Speaker 2 (38:04):
I did you know? I think you're right. That's my
prediction for the game is two one the mill Wall.
So let's go around.

Speaker 7 (38:18):
With that game.

Speaker 2 (38:19):
What do you reckon, Dave?

Speaker 10 (38:21):
Uh?

Speaker 11 (38:23):
I think it's going to be as Lisa a squeaky
one nil.

Speaker 2 (38:29):
Squeaky one nil.

Speaker 8 (38:31):
Your settle for that, Andy, Yeah, I'm going to go
the same there and hopefully if Jake Keeper's head or
something could be.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
Nice with it.

Speaker 9 (38:40):
Yeah, Josh right, this, myight is going to surprise you.
This is why I'm bottom of the leave when it
comes to the prediction league. I think this is going
to be a really good game, and I think we're
going to win this free to.

Speaker 2 (38:59):
No one that you are bottom.

Speaker 7 (39:04):
Oh darn me right.

Speaker 2 (39:06):
We've got there two other games that we got to
give predictions to, which is Leicester Sheffil United. First, I
have gone with a did I want to change my
mind now I've actually yeah, I couldn't separate these two
because of Sheffell tonight, So I'm going with Leicester one,
Sheffield United one.

Speaker 9 (39:25):
Let's go with you, George, see that this is exactly
what I was saying about leicesteron just a moment ago.
I think Lester are going to go right out this league,
and I think in this case they're going to win
to one we wanted Lester.

Speaker 11 (39:41):
Dave, I'm going to go with a Leicester too nil.

Speaker 2 (39:46):
Mister two nil, and Andy, I'm going to go for
a Leicester one nil, a Leicester one nil. And the
last one that I chose as we were saying that
Lee was Wrexham versus Blackburn, and I think he was right.
You just never know with either of these sides what
they're going to do. Blackburn really surprised me last weekend
by beating Preston, but so but with Wrexham at home,

(40:11):
I went for a to nil Wrexham win. What do
you reckon? Let's go with Dave Well.

Speaker 11 (40:18):
I'll go to one, Redson.

Speaker 2 (40:21):
Two one, Rixa and George.

Speaker 9 (40:24):
I'll go with me old mate Dave. I think Wrexham,
you know, are pretty good team Max. I was reasonably
impressed with them. Yeah to one two one? And are
you Andy also going for a home win? But are
going to go for a two nil to Wrexham. We
all know what's going to happen here. Blackburn is going
to win because we've all.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
But never We also had predictions for my old mate
Nick wife out in Sicily there from the Facebook mill
Will Sicily, So let's hear what Nick's predictions are. Hello everyone,
these are my predictions.

Speaker 10 (40:57):
Millwall one, Southampton two that's the one, Sheppard United two
and Ransom too Blackburn Neil.

Speaker 2 (41:08):
Thank you, Thanks Nick. Thanks to Dave Art for collating
the results and producing the table. All right, let's there
