Speaker 1 (00:10):
Then we are back on Arvind and Swiss Radio showing
rough Nathan og Hi everybody.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
This has become a show that I didn't expect, but
we're discussing a very very sensitive issue that we talked about.
It that brought it up at the halftime about is
it am I thinking about Aaron Brakovich the movie?
Speaker 3 (00:29):
What was the name of the movie. Was that the
name of the movie Flint?
Speaker 4 (00:32):
I know it took place in Flint, Michigan.
Speaker 3 (00:34):
Okay.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
The point what I'm leading up to is we were
talking with Stephanie and all of a sudden she those
four or five people going back to young childhood, they're
living in somewhat the same proximity. And the first thing,
and I'm no genius, the first thing I asked, is
(00:55):
is any correlation where they live and they all suffering
somemil or close to similar diagnoses.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
The answer was yes.
Speaker 2 (01:04):
So I during the halftime we had some very serious discussions,
and because of possible legal repercussions, I'm not going to
ask specific questions. However, We're going to take the time
now and talk to Kendall. If Lemons is what Stephanie
was talking about. We're going to turn him into lemonade
by talking to Kendall. But in meanwhile Stephanie's going to
(01:26):
give it some thought and then at the next break
Stephanie will tell me, yeah, let me at least give
you a name or a phone number of foundation or
something or But we're all in agreement. Cindy has a very,
very experienced with the medical field.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
We're all in the agreement.
Speaker 2 (01:44):
Do not let this go because the wrong people are
trying to pardon the expression, bury the subject. They hope
he will go away, and the hell with them. They
don't go away, that's no. The point is one by
one we have to expose.
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Them, especially if you have currently.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
So you know, what turned out to be lemons and
lemonade is turning out to be something more. And I
for one want to get involved. And Cindy, will you
help as anything whatever we can do.
Speaker 3 (02:13):
Would you be on board with me?
Speaker 4 (02:14):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (02:14):
I said that, Ye okay, all right.
Speaker 2 (02:16):
So now we go to Kendall. You're now thirteen, yes,
And when your father had his first seizure, you're seven
months old, No way, you don't remember that. Now, at
what age do you remember? And the problem is, remember,
you've got two types of memories, what you witnessed and
what you heard so from ever since you could hear,
(02:38):
listen and understand, you've got your mom telling you about
what's going on. At what point did you realize, Hey,
I got to know more about this? What can I
do about it? And what have you done about it?
And that's why you're here today? And thank you for
being here. You're enlightened my day.
Speaker 5 (02:54):
Yeah, thank you for having me.
Speaker 6 (02:55):
Well.
Speaker 5 (02:55):
Ever since I remember, I've always been back and forth
in Mafat and seeing all the families strung with brain cancer.
And that's actually what inspired me. I actually want to
become a neurosurgeon to help buy a cause for brain can.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Less you good? I know I feel the same way.
Speaker 5 (03:12):
And what I've done with this is, of course create
my platform, Beauty for Brains, and just reaching out to
families and giving them hope like I wish that my
family had.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
I'm going to to check.
Speaker 2 (03:25):
I'm eighty years old and I want to tell everybody,
you know, every generation has one step ahead.
Speaker 3 (03:31):
Forward of the genera previous generation.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
So if all of us are rolling our eyes once
in a while when we're getting older, but the young kids, this,
the young kids, this here's a perfect example that people
like Kendall teenagers. I mean, you talk about what's seventh
and one eighth my age? Them way ahead of me,
way ahead of me. I didn't have the brains like
(03:55):
she does. I didn't have the ability or the opportunity
and misfortune maybe to be able to be So everybody
out there listen to this is a very gently beautiful story. Okay,
So now so what are you going to do about it?
What have you done about it?
Speaker 4 (04:11):
What about Anthony? You can bring up time?
Speaker 5 (04:13):
Oh yeah, So actually I met Anthony two years ago
at his fundraiser. He's six years old and he was
diagnosed with a brain tumor six and I actually just
reconnected with him and we met at I don't know,
if you know, it's like a heart they just created.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Yeah, yeah, heart.
Speaker 5 (04:33):
Yeah. So we've met there and we actually planned a
couple of things that are coming. So I'm so super
excited for that and just seeing like the smile on
his face just brightens my day.
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Was there a picture in a paper or something with
you or something that.
Speaker 5 (04:46):
Was it was an Instagram post that I made.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
Okay, I saw something about it?
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Yeah, Okay, So dressed in gold.
Speaker 5 (04:53):
Yeah, dressed in gold to remember that represent pediatric cancer awareness.
Speaker 3 (04:58):
Okay, so what are you doing about it now?
Speaker 4 (05:00):
Well, why don't you tell them about this weekend? What
did you just do this weekend?
Speaker 2 (05:05):
Oh?
Speaker 3 (05:05):
This weekend?
Speaker 5 (05:06):
So I actually ride horses. I barrel race and eleven
year old Victoria passed for a brain tumor. So because
this month, September is pediatric cancer Awareness month, I painted
a gold ribbon and a brain cancer ribbon on my
horse to represent pediatric cancer and to honor her memory.
Speaker 2 (05:28):
I'd like to what have you done with this painting
or what have you done with the picture?
Speaker 7 (05:33):
Johnny, Well, we haven't raised again, we don't really, so
we're a little bit different entity. We don't raise a
lot of money, but what we do is we raise awareness.
So anytime Kendall has quite a bit of a following.
Anytime we do this it's for free. Unfortunately, because we
have high amounts of brain cancer in our area, she's
met quite a bit of young people. We actually have
(05:54):
a thing that it's very special appointment tomorrow at a school.
There's another little boy who has brain cancer, and Kendall
actually goes into the schools to read books. Sometimes the
girl sash and all the kids get excited because go ahead.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
So it's called the k Project, and I get to
travel to different schools, elementary schools usually second to first grade,
and read your fantastic, elastic Brain and to just teach
kids how to keep their brain healthy and to share
a little bit about my story.
Speaker 3 (06:23):
You amazing.
Speaker 2 (06:26):
I don't know adultslip would do that. That's fantastic. But
you got to give you this kind of self reward,
like I feel good doing this.
Speaker 3 (06:38):
I got to give you that feeling.
Speaker 4 (06:39):
I'm very proud of her.
Speaker 7 (06:40):
I think one of the biggest things that she accomplishes
is she tries to bring hope because honestly, brain cancer
is yeah, you need.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Quite a bit of hope.
Speaker 7 (06:49):
And she just started her new little product, so she
has quite a bit of projects. But she started something
last night.
Speaker 5 (06:56):
It's called talk about It Tuesday, Beauty for Brains, where
I go live on Instagram and I interview one brain
cancer or just cancer warrior in general. And I just
launched it because September's Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month. And last
night I got to interview Riha, which I actually met
her two years in a row. Head to the Hill
in Washington, d C. So just so special just seeing
(07:17):
how we're all connected and getting to interview someone and
sharing their story.
Speaker 3 (07:22):
So you're doing what I'm doing with you. You're doing. Yeah,
I need to.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
I need to figure out how to listen to your show.
Maybe I can learn from you.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (07:32):
So it's every Tuesday on the NAM Florida preteen account
and we go live and just interview.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Can you email me, Stephanie or Kendall. Can you email
me information about it? And what I'll do then is,
with your permission, I'll print it out and share it
with our audience pact. See that show is an iHeartRadio podcast.
That means it goes on the iHeart platform internationally. So
(08:00):
what we're saying today will be we'll be heard of
September twentieth on Saturday in the morning and in the
evening all over the world.
Speaker 7 (08:10):
Well perfect because maybe somebody out there has a similar
story or somebody has them from information that can help
us kind of wrap all this up.
Speaker 2 (08:20):
Nobody's alone in any any battle or any situation like this,
and kind of said.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
But I think her dad would be so proud of her.
Speaker 3 (08:30):
I'm sure he is.
Speaker 7 (08:31):
I mean, she actually was doing quite a bit of
community service before even starting this whole pageant era of hers.
She we were out in the community and we were
raising awareness and someone approached her and they said, hey,
does she do pageants?
Speaker 4 (08:44):
And we were like, no, she's she's a football player.
She played back football.
Speaker 7 (08:49):
And then she just started and she she started winning
and she's a great speaker. Last year she was also
Miss Florida for a different pageant system, and she actually
an overall interview out of all six divisions, even the
MYSS divisions, which is I think up to age twenty three.
Speaker 3 (09:07):
Wow, that is good for you.
Speaker 4 (09:10):
Huge accomplishment.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Yeah, okay, so now let's go directly again the Sash
and the.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
Tierra of course, how did how did? Okay?
Speaker 2 (09:21):
So you weren't aware of pageants next year? Somehow you're
entering one after the other and you're winning a few.
What are your what are you going to be accomplishing
by having the ability to communicate with a lot of
open doors because of your title?
Speaker 5 (09:37):
Well, honestly, pageants have taught me confidence in how to speak.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
It comes across over. Yeah.
Speaker 5 (09:43):
So even if I don't win in nationals, I just
want to share my story and spread awareness. About brain cancer.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
So yeah, and represent Florida in a positive way. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Just remember, in order to succeed, you need to fail.
But in order to fail, you need to try. You
can't go fishing. You can't catch fish if you don't
go fishing. So you keep going fishing once in a
while you cat fish, keep trying, and that's what my
number one encouragement to you is, don't give up. No,
(10:16):
and your best literally best hero heroine example is your mom, Stephanie.
Speaker 6 (10:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (10:23):
So something that I say a lot is to turn
our opticles into opportunities because I do remember when my
dad was fighting, he always kept a smile on his
face and he never gave up. So that's something that
I carry on with my platform.
Speaker 4 (10:35):
Good for you.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
Yeah, so what we're going to take the last break
in about a minute and a half.
Speaker 3 (10:42):
So you now you're missed Florida.
Speaker 5 (10:46):
What so National American Miss Florida preteen.
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Okay, but now this is a State of Florida event, right, Yeah,
the next step is the next level and which is what.
Speaker 5 (10:57):
It's Nationals in November and I'll be going against all
the different states in the US.
Speaker 2 (11:02):
So you'll have fifty young ladies forty nine against vying
for the title.
Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah, and where's that event going to be?
Speaker 5 (11:10):
It is going to be in Orlando, Florida. Luckily, it's
in Florida in November, November week.
Speaker 4 (11:16):
Great.
Speaker 2 (11:17):
Yeah, actually, yeah, Oh that's phenomenal. You've got to keep
me posted. I wish I could be there, but my
home situation. I have an ill wife, so I can relate.
But my heart's with you.
Speaker 3 (11:32):
So we're going to take the break and we come back. Now.
Speaker 2 (11:36):
I want to go back and take the past, the present,
and the future. I'm pointing everybody. I'm pointing to Stephanie
because she's going through the past a much longer period
of time than, of course Kendall has, and then appointing
Kendall with the president, and then appointing it both for
the future. We'll be right back everybody. Wow, what a topic.
Speaker 3 (11:57):
I never thought we were going to open up a
candle like this.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
So thank you. You've enlightened me today. I'm honored to
have you here.
Speaker 8 (12:04):
Sincerely, I'm doctor Tim. I needus a Treasure Coast dermatology.
A Treasure Coast dermatology. We believe in the prevention and
early detection of skin cancer. We are medical doctors, and
we focus on the medical aspects of dermatology. You don't
need a sales pitch for botox, collagen or wrinkle creams.
You needed a doctor that cares about you and the
health of your skin. We feel by not trying to
(12:26):
do too much, we can do more for our patients.
Speaker 7 (12:29):
Call tolfree eight seven seven eight seven zero dirm that's
eight seven seven eight seven zero three three seven six.
Meet Norma Howell, patient of Florida I Institute.
Speaker 6 (12:43):
My sight to me is top priority because you lose
your sight, you lose ology independence and so with me
it was scary. After meeting doctor Schoemate, I had a joy.
I knew I was going to be okay. My life
is just one hundred plus percent.
Speaker 5 (12:59):
Are you ready to experience truly exceptional patient care Florida
I Institute.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
Hey, did you hear the latest about our Florida High Woman?
Speaker 6 (13:11):
No?
Speaker 1 (13:11):
What?
Speaker 2 (13:12):
There's a new High Woman art gallery and Fero Beach
Really where eighteen seventy two Commerce Avenue?
Speaker 6 (13:18):
Wow?
Speaker 3 (13:19):
When's it open? Seven days a week?
Speaker 2 (13:21):
Called nine five four five five seven six two two
six for an appointment.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Any time, No kidding, Just call.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
For your appointment ninety five, four, five, five, seven six
two two six, and then go to eighteen seventy.
Speaker 3 (13:33):
Two Commerce Avenue. Wow, that's good news. A member of
the Itex trading community.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Your I text dollars are welcome.
Speaker 1 (13:45):
And welcome back to Arvard and Soys Radio Show with
Ralph Nathan Oko.
Speaker 3 (13:50):
You know all of you that have been with me
for all these years. First of all, of course, thank
you for your loyalty.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
But you know, I'd like to add humor to the
saddest and the worst situations, because when we lose our humor,
we kind of loss an awful lot. I'm having a
difficult time finding humor today because what we were going
to do is my job as a host is tell
you to have stories to tell you with the people
that have lived with these stories and entertain you. But
(14:18):
kind of difficult on a personal level for me to
entertain you about a subject that's so ugly. And I'm
saying ugly because it seems like money prevails on everything,
whether it's money or politics.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
So, Stephanie, hopefully I gave you a few minutes.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
I have not asked you privately, so but I'm asking
you now on the air, and if.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
You decline, I'll respect it.
Speaker 2 (14:44):
Is there anything that you want, any message you have,
because then I want to get back to Lemonade Kendall.
Is anything that you want to share with, whether it's
names of phone numbers or governmental bodies? What can There
are other situations similar to this all over the world.
This is unique to you, but everyone is unique for
everybody else to what can how can we help? How
(15:06):
can you help by being on iart radio podcast Internationally?
Speaker 7 (15:10):
Well, I started a nonprofit called Brain Cancer the Treasure Coast.
Speaker 4 (15:14):
We don't have a lot of fundraisers. We don't.
Speaker 7 (15:17):
It's not we don't collect a lot of funding. It's
actually a self reporting database. You can go on there
at ww www brain cancertc dot org. It's a drop
down and we want to hear about all cancer, not
just brain cancer. I don't think just that neighborhood where
my late husband grew up, you're going to find just
brain cancer. The brain cancer is just so rare that
(15:42):
we're focusing on that. But I guarantee if they actually
had an epidemiologist or somebody come down and actually look
into what's happening. What is an epidemiologist?
Speaker 3 (15:54):
I can't even say it or any kind.
Speaker 7 (15:56):
Of honestly, any kind of government agency like I don't
know if I even brought up I had Brokovich come
down to our area, and I thought for sure that
was going to solve all the issues, and instead she
just said, Hey, I was here in your area twenty
two years ago for almost the same exact issue.
Speaker 4 (16:10):
So this is not going to stop. This is not
going to stop.
Speaker 7 (16:14):
Unless someone actually comes in and looks at the cause
and maybe if we find the cause of globlastoma, we
can find the cure.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Cindy, Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Yeah, you brought up something interesting about Senator Well, I'm
not Senator up.
Speaker 4 (16:28):
I mean Robert F.
Speaker 3 (16:29):
Kennedy Jr.
Speaker 1 (16:30):
I want to say I said the right thing off
air that he was one of the people that was instrumental.
I know it was somebody in the Kennedy family of
cleaning up the Hudson River. I want to say, back
in the seventies and early eighties, with all the toxic
chemicals they were dumping into the river, I want to say.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
That tunity for Stephanie and Kendall indirectly through Congressman mass
he may be the one to open the door.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Here's a rebel. I mean Kennedy is a rebel. Yeah,
for a cause. Maybe he may.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Not listen to you, but he will listen to a
fellow politician. It's just a suggestion, if I may.
Speaker 3 (17:11):
So. Now let's go. I'm moving back and forth.
Speaker 4 (17:13):
For a real we need to get back to Kendle.
Speaker 3 (17:15):
Yes, okay, Now what can we do we being.
Speaker 2 (17:20):
I'd like to see millions of my audience, but I
don't think we're that large. But the thousands that do
listen to our show, what message do you have for them?
What can they do to help? And is there a
new way that you or your mom want to get
reached If there is a message.
Speaker 5 (17:38):
Well, honestly, back when I said turning our obstacles into opportunities,
no matter what, I think, everyone goes through something, but
it's how you overcome what you have gone through. And
also I am going to Nationals and it is pretty pricey.
So if you do want to reach out to me,
my email is Cunningham Kendle at gmail dot com or
my mom's venmo or.
Speaker 7 (18:00):
Sell anything that that would if they want to support
Kendall for Nationals that you know it does. All those
little things do add up and.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
Yeah, well maybe this is not the time. But Kendel
and Stephanie, I have a check in my hand. I
have not paid it out to anybody. I don't know
who you want to thought, okay, for it's personal foundation whatever.
Speaker 3 (18:22):
If it helped if everybody. If you take an empty
glass and took one of the pebble of.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Sand, big deal. But if enough pebbles go in, the
sand fills up the glass. So you make it out
to whatever you need, and if you will email me
the information, I will continue advising our listeners as I'm
going to do for I's looking for sponsors.
Speaker 7 (18:45):
And actually this pageant system, which is the largest in
the nation, National American Myths, it's actually a tax right off.
So if that encourages anybody, no tax right off, I
can we can give you the tax ID number.
Speaker 2 (18:56):
Okay, that's not I think many people would want to
help you. And the last thing you're going to think
of is a write off. My perspective is, how do
you sponsor this? How do you what's let somebody out
there own the business and they say, hey, I want
to help sponsor, Well.
Speaker 7 (19:13):
This National American miss they actually so if she does
get a sponsor we send the information to National American
Miss and they actually put it in in their in
their book in the magazine.
Speaker 3 (19:23):
Are there any present requisites or minimums or I.
Speaker 7 (19:28):
Can give my information out if they want, you know,
for the details.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
Okay, if you'll contact me.
Speaker 2 (19:36):
If it's something that I or maybe a couple of
us can do from Vero Beach, maybe we can advertise
our industry in there. But again, we talked about fifty
dollars and we talk about five thousand.
Speaker 7 (19:47):
Or do you want me to tell you how much
the pageants cost? Well, Nationals, it's it's in between. I
would say ten to fifteen thousand.
Speaker 3 (19:56):
Now is there an entry fee that you have to
pay two?
Speaker 7 (19:59):
Yes, entrance fees one thousand dollars, So we need to
raise that so Kendall can win. But I will say
with Kendall, well, Kendall won Miss Florida, so they actually
so she doesn't have to pay the entry for right.
The other staff I believe, like the hotel when I
added up was twenty eight hundred.
Speaker 4 (20:16):
It's at the Hyatt.
Speaker 7 (20:17):
So there is things that start to add up, and
we are trying to to support her, but again she
barrel races.
Speaker 4 (20:24):
She's a champion flag football herself.
Speaker 7 (20:27):
So these things do are a little costly for trying
to keep up with Kendall, But the major, the main
thing is her spreading her platform throughout and we've met
quite a bit of people through pageantry that actually have
had have had brain tumors or fought the brain.
Speaker 4 (20:43):
So when she.
Speaker 7 (20:43):
Started her first pageant, he lost his son out of
Orlando to a brain tumor.
Speaker 2 (20:50):
Yeah, I can't fathom with you know, we've all lost
loved ones, but how we lose them, we're really affects.
Speaker 7 (20:57):
I just don't know if it's like throw it in
our lap from you know, from above right, like it's
because every time we actually go do something. She had
a photo shoot, which actually she I don't we forget
to say she was on the cover of a magazine recently,
so we're waiting for the magazine to come into the mail.
She was cover model, but the photographer that actually took
(21:19):
her photo was saying she was. Kendall talks about her
platform wherever she goes, and the lady was she actually
was taken back she goes. My dad died of brain cancer,
and when he was diagnosed in Jacksonville, the doctor I
said there was two others. So these clusters are not
just they're all over, but they are clusters.
Speaker 2 (21:38):
Okay, email to me whatever you want me to do.
Get some information about the pageant and the sponsorship and
let's see what we can do and I'll share it
on the ear as. We want to remind everybody jump
start the Antique card show October nineteenth, Sunday, and this
is for the Purple Heart Can project. Will be held
(21:59):
at the Fort Pierce Elx Club. This is on Fifth
Street and US one in Fort Piers. And if you
need any other information call me. I'm available seven days
a week, daylight hours, preferably at nine to five four five,
five seven six two two six. You're going to hear
more on this show with about Stephanie Kendall and whatever
(22:24):
else we can do to help Kendall. I'm proud of you, sincerely,
very proud of you. Don't ever let anything ever stop you.
You want to climb a mountain, You're going to reach
the top if you're determined, and I think you will.
Speaker 4 (22:38):
No Questionerence.
Speaker 2 (22:39):
I believe that you you your guidance and your love.
I mean it's it's very visible. So thank you very much.
We want to want to thank the high Wayman Art
Gallery at eighteen seventy two Commerce Avenue in Vero Beach,
