can attest to it in another way with everything you involved.
You go to Walmart, or you go to public, or
you go to Walgreen, and somebody will say, hey, Lloyd,
are you the guy? Or Bill? Didn't I see you?
In my case, they hear my voice and say you
think I from the radio, And yeah, it really makes
me feel good because somebody's listening. At least one person

(00:58):
my wife.

I ever see motorcycles, and when I do, usually they're
three wheelers with the passenger boat that I call it
a boat.

Speaker 4 (02:22):
But I have room for many, many motorcycles.

Speaker 3 (02:25):
So we're hoping for sixty to eighty cars.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
Oh wow wow.

Speaker 4 (02:29):
Yeah, that's our goal.

Speaker 3 (02:30):

mister Davidson. So there you go.

Speaker 1 (02:40):
Is there a time frame then they can't enter? Can
they enter right up to the day, right.

Speaker 4 (02:44):

Speaker 2 (04:02):
Is there going to be a best Military dressed?

Speaker 4 (04:10):
We can do that?

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Have you ever thought about it? Can you imagine how
many veterans if their clothes didn't shrink in the Florida clouset?
How many veterans, male or female would attend in their uniform?
Think about that? I've never seen it. I would love
to see that.

Speaker 4 (04:26):
I would love to see I really would. I don't
know if i'd buy a lunch that they came in
in their uniform.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
Oh, there you go.

Speaker 2 (04:33):
Everybody to buy a uniform. This is why I like conversations.
You never know what's going to be if we can't delete,
if we mess up, by the way, I thought, we
hardly ever edit.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Okay, now, well, I mean you're feel free to bring
your sports car to Maserati unless you want to bring
your Ferrari.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
No no, And you know what suits for Cindy? Yeah?

Speaker 4 (04:57):
Okay, who I will be one of the judges, and
we'll have four other judges from the Elks Club that
will come in and handle that for us as well.

Speaker 1 (05:06):
Okay, so it's not people not to inrupy Ralpha. I've
gone to car shows before with the patrons or whatever.
They vote, Yeah, they vote.

Speaker 4 (05:15):
The Elks will be doing the inspections and I'll be
leading it. Okay. I'm a judge with many different organizations
and I've been doing judging for about thirty years, so
that's not going to be a problem. We're gonna have
fun with that.

Speaker 3 (05:28):
I'm gonna bring my hot rod down there, but Bill's
not gonna throw that into the hat.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Oh I'll have two cars there, but I'm not going
to be judged.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah, okay, Well I've got something first of all for you.
You said you've been doing it for thirty years. Well,
at your age, how can you see what's going on?

Speaker 4 (05:44):
I just add a cateract surgery.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
And cataract surgery a couple of days ago, two weeks ago,
So now the second I'm wondering, she'll really be able
to see what I'm really like.

Speaker 4 (05:57):
Yeah. Other thing that's important that I forgot to say, registration.
You have my phone number on the the.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
Next thing, I'm going right down you sure, okay.

Speaker 4 (06:09):
I'll wait for you then no, no, go ahead, Okay,
it's twenty dollars to register if in.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Other words, people who want to attend the show, we
have to register.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
No, just the cars spectators are free. Can I give
my number on?

Speaker 2 (06:23):
Absolutely? Because that's what I'm gonna ask you.

Speaker 4 (06:25):
For, perfect my phone number to register. And I don't
collect any money prior. All money's collected the day of
the show. But what I like to have done is
all the paperwork filled out. When you get there the
twenty we give your paperwork, We're all set. It'll speed
things up going through the registration.

Speaker 2 (06:42):
If you have a website or something's where that form
is available from the print out, they can complete it
at all and bring.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
It to you. Not right now, but can we put it.

Speaker 3 (06:51):
On Yeah, you can put it on Mary.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Then you need to give them an address. What to
go through?

Speaker 3 (06:56):
Right, Purple Heart canproject dot org, Purple Heart gain project
back ord.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Okay, terrific, you got that. Okay, Now, what if the fees,
the registration's fees.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
How much it's twenty dollars per car?

Speaker 2 (07:12):
What if somebody wants to give you fifty or one hundred,
would you accept it?

Speaker 4 (07:15):
Take it and all the hurricane project.

Speaker 2 (07:18):
Okay, now, Bill Lloyd, you just almost opened up a
window for me. You told me to bring my junk car, right,
I mean my peaka right? Okay, May I tell them
what I am going to bring. This was not intended,
but I believe that everything in life is meant to be.

(07:40):
And when something, you know, you walked on the sidewalk
your trip, you fall into bushes and there's a final
building by the roots of the bushes from upstairs. It
was meant to be. That's why you fell. You said that,
well about a month ago. Uh, you know, I'm in
a collect of those business as well as the highwayman
art business. I bought an estate over one thousand die

(08:04):
cast cars, boats, cars, motorcycles, semis sports cars, package not package, box,
not box huge. And when when you brought all this,
the two of you brought this to my attention, I said, well,
I'll put Sheila and I will go in sick the same.

(08:27):
It can't be the same, listener, it's gotta be a different. Anyway,
I didn't mind to We'll put up the ticket at
booth Indoors with the vendors and talk about high women.
And so I'm talking to Janie Hoover, who does my
Facebook advertising, and she looks at me and said, what
kind of show is this? And I said A car show?

(08:49):
Says what did you just bother? You're trying to sell?
And I go, yeah, dumb, dumb, I didn't even think
of it. So Jane, thank you for the idea. So
we will have uh literally, I think you describe where
you're going to pitch my tenth.

Speaker 4 (09:05):
You're going to be pitched right next to me at
the registration. So every car coming through has to go
buy you. And and that's a perfect place because some
of the best times is listening to them and watching
them come in with those cars, and you could really
get a feel of what kind of car it is.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Is that it's a registration like between like before you
go into the vendor show that's in that area.

Speaker 4 (09:28):
Yes, it's it's actually the entrance to the building. It's
got a little overhang. You're going to be on one
side with all set up. His stuff will be on
the other side. Okay, each side of it.

Speaker 3 (09:41):
So you get to look at my smiling face all day.

Speaker 2 (09:45):
But can you imagine that if I we got a marine,
we got an army. Can you imagine if I was Navy,
an Air Force, or coast Guard? But we did.

Speaker 3 (09:56):
I will see if I can't have one of the
seals come down.

Speaker 2 (10:00):
See it forever, right, Seal me forever.

Speaker 3 (10:02):
Now they're not as good looking as we are.

Speaker 4 (10:06):
And we're both celebrating two hundred and fifty years. That's right,
Marine Corps two fifty.

Speaker 2 (10:10):
I think, if I'm not mistaken, it was the Marine Corps, Cindy.
We had somebody tell us at the show the Marine Corps,
but I believe may have been the very first branch
of any of the militaries. I'm not sure.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I thought it was Army, and I thought I would
have thought it later came. It was the same year
that they both came, not towards the end.

Speaker 3 (10:30):
If I recall history correctly, it was Army, then Navy
before they even had ships. If they had a Navy, right,
a Marine Corps.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Yeah, So that's all the same three in same years,
and all three of them right then.

Speaker 3 (10:44):
They of course after World War Two they formed the
Air Force, yeah, from the Army Air Corps. And now
that they have the Space Force. My question for you. Yea,
they have Annapolis as the uh for the academy. They
have West Point for the Army. The Air Force has

(11:04):
one out in Colorado.

Speaker 2 (11:06):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
When they have an academy for the space Force. So
are they going to be called space cadets?

Speaker 1 (11:11):
Yeah, where's the marine one? They just know what they're doing.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
That's the Department of the Navy.

Speaker 2 (11:18):
Dear.

Speaker 1 (11:18):
Oh, they just know what they do and they don't.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Yeah, Bill, what are you smiling? He does insulted you.
The Navy they do.

Speaker 3 (11:27):
The No. I told the guy one time it was,
you know, Department of the Navy, which it is, and
he goes, yeah, that's the men's department.

Speaker 2 (11:36):
Actually, I thought you were going to ask me what
are they going to call the academy for for space
for the space military branch? And I was going to
say White House. But you got to give him credit.
He did. He did the establish that he did. Yeah,
you'll be interesting to see where you send them off

(11:56):
the next.

Speaker 4 (11:57):
That's one of the reasons I've never seen war because
when I went in in eighty two, President Reagan ended
all that.

Speaker 2 (12:04):
Eighteen eighty two Reagan was the president.

Speaker 4 (12:07):
It was that the whole time.

Speaker 1 (12:12):
Yeah, it was tear down the wall, the whole bit.

Speaker 2 (12:14):
Yeah, yeah, okay, trivia time. Who was President of the
United States in eighteen eighty two? Polk that was eighteen thirties.
He was a thirty eighth president, the eleventh. Yeah that
there was nineteen eighteen thirties, eighteen thirties, yeah, pok ran
And I will only run for one office, one term.

(12:35):
And here's what I want to get done. Yea, And
he did. Yeah, yeah, yeah, underestimate. But seriously, I'm not
sure Garfield got assassinated eighteen eighty five. So who was
before Garfield? I know, got.

Speaker 3 (12:49):
Expected me, this crazy Canadian to get his gray matter working.

Speaker 2 (12:53):
Didn't you tell me that you were special Forces? Iin't
TheInk above such wonderful.

Speaker 3 (12:59):
I'm dismantling M sixteen and I'm uh car fifteen presidentship.

Speaker 4 (13:10):
Now you notice I kept quiet and then because you
don't know, it was good. There was a good comeback
for the army thing there. But I hate Yeah, it's marines.
We're quiet but deadly.

Speaker 3 (13:20):
I know what he is. What he's going to say,
Army A R M. Y ain't really marines yet.

Speaker 2 (13:27):
I haven't heard that.

Speaker 4 (13:28):
He told me that one.

Speaker 2 (13:30):
I've just I hope you guys are everybody out there
enjoying this because I am. Because my heart. I'm wearing
my heart on my lapel. It's called an American flag.
And when I look at these two gentlemen here, yes,
both of you, I call gentlemen. When I look at them,
all I want to do is say thank you. Because
if it weren't for all the all the gentlemen, all

(13:52):
the ladies, all the sixteen million in the World War two,
and I don't even know how many served in Korea
and how many in Vietnam, I know how many we
lost in those two conflicts because they can't be called wars,
you know. But Patty Patrick McAllister, and then we're going
to go for break.

Speaker 1 (14:10):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
Remember Cindy, we were talking and I asked, pat Patty said,
let me ask you something. Why didn't they call Korea
or Vietnam wars while they have right? Answer, of course,
is because Congress didn't declare war, right yeah, And Patty's answered,
do you remember, Cindy, No, I don't. Any time somebody

(14:32):
oh yeah, yeah, a weapon at you work, yeah yeah,
And I never forgot as long as I live. Well,
this is our last break. When we come back, we'll
repeat the address, the date, more information and two people
have already called in said if you want to call
called nine five four five five seven six two two

Coast Dermatology. We believe in the prevention and early detection
of skin cancer. We are medical doctors and we focus
on the medical aspects of dermatology. You don't need a

a doctor that cares about you and the health of
your skin. We feel by not trying to do too much,

(15:15):
we can do more for our patients.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Call Tolfree eight seven seven eight seven zero dirm that's

Speaker 6 (15:26):
Meet Norma Howell, patient of Florida I Institute. My sight

you lose all of your independence, and so with me

is just one hundred plus percent.

I Institute.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
Two Commerce Avenue. Wow, that's good news. A number of
the itex trading community. Your I text dollars are welcome.

Speaker 1 (16:30):
And we're back on Arvin and Soy's Radio showing Ralph
Nathan Oko.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
Yeah, I got a question. We're talking to Lloyd and Bill.
Bill's marine wants a marine, always a marine. Lloyd is
a dangerous Army man. My question to you, seriously, when
you go through military boot camp where this Army, Navy,
Marine Corps and so on, I think pretty much in
the same philosophy they're trying to mold you physically and mentally.

(16:57):
I didn't go through it, so I'm asking and then
this question.

Speaker 3 (17:01):
Well, yeah, and my personal opinion, and please don't take
that as anything not reflection of either the most or
the Purple Heart Gane project. But my personal opinion is
I think everyone coming out of high school before they
go to college and needs to go spend two years
in the military. To non combatant me. I don't wish

(17:21):
that on anybody. Yes, but it teaches physical of course,
because you're gonna run, you're gonna do push up, some
pull ups and all that.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
But it also teaches respect. Yeah, and that's respect for yourself,
respect for authority, respect for others. Correct, And that's the
most important lesson that the military teaches.

Speaker 2 (17:48):
And majority of people, young people male or female, when
they're getting out of high school, majority really don't have direction.
And I think those two years, in addition to lifting
up your self respect, your self esteem, as well as
your physical mental direction, it kind of gives you a
direction for life as to what do you want to be.

(18:10):
Quite often, I've seen in my life that what you
learn in the military you kind of end up falling
into that becomes part of your rest of your life.

Speaker 3 (18:20):
Oh yeah, we're always early. We're never late for anything.
If you're not fifteen minutes early, you're.

Speaker 2 (18:26):
Late, you're on time. No, you're on time if you're
fifteen minutes early. And if you're on time, you're late.

Speaker 3 (18:35):
Every Marines Army. I took extra schools. Yes, they break
you down and then they reeled you back up, and
you advance both in rank and whatever, according to your abilities.
There's no okay where you're from Cincinnati, so you get Nah,

(18:55):
that doesn't cut it. No, it's on your ability. Yeah,
are you a good shot? Okay? You and I had
a kid in Jacksonville when I lived there, got out
of high school, didn't know what to do, and I
was working on a car. Because I get a kick
out of that. And he says, I don't know what
I'm going to do. I don't want to go to

(19:15):
college at Danta, I says, Timmy, let's go talk to
a recruiter. He says, I want to be a marine.
I says, I'll kick you in the shins. Anyway, he
went into the Air Force. They gave him an aptitude test,
They found out he was good with electronics. They taught
him how to repair radios and be fifty two bombers.
He made a career out of it. Twenty some years

(19:38):
what did he do after he got out of the military.
He went to work with the manufacturer of the radios.

Speaker 4 (19:42):
And so that's what I tell kids all the time.
Don't go in and just be a groun to just
do this. Go in to something that you like and
you could use when you get out, right, And it's
the biggest thing for the kids.

Speaker 3 (19:57):
Yeah, the statistics are there's only one in combat arms
versus nine that aren't. So. Yeah, they have buildings where
their conditioning and heating, they have carpenters, they have construction worker.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Hello, free training, free education. Yes, sir oh Am, I correct.
By the way, yesterday I was talking to my neighbor
and something about that her husband was served and when
he came back he went to college. GI Bell. The
GI bill is still in existence today. Yes, it is

(20:33):
in other and I'm saying this, I'm sharing it with everybody.
I just wanted to get confirmation. So if you're no
matter what brand you go to, it's still American military.
You serve your time with the two years, five years,
twenty whatever it is during the time, and after military
you get your discharge, you have the equivalent of the

(20:54):
GI bill for training. Yes, okay, let's go back and repeat.
I'm going to call it operations. Jump start, but jump
start Antique Car Show. What is it? Where is it?

Speaker 4 (21:06):
When is it again? We're open till all makes models years.
If you want to show that car, you bring that
car in more motorcycle or motorcycle. We corrected that now
motorcycles are well welcome. It's in Port Piers at six
oh eight South fifth Street in Fort Piers, Florida. It'll
be held in the nineteenth It'll go from eleven to three.

(21:29):
Awards will be at three. We're going to have twelve
different categories and now there is one for motorcycles.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
So just gotta say not even.

Speaker 4 (21:39):
I'd love to see everybody come in and just have
a good time.

Speaker 2 (21:42):
And if you want a free meal, Bill said, free
meal if you come in uniform, there you go.

Speaker 3 (21:49):
Yeah. And the proceeds are going to help the Cane Project.

Speaker 2 (21:52):
And what is the Cane Project?

Speaker 3 (21:54):
The Purple Heart Cane Project where we present canes at
no charge to combat wounded Better Rans and gold Star families.

Speaker 4 (22:01):

everybody wins, everybody, including you, So a bill, Lloyd, thank you,
thank you. It's a good education. But you guys are

(22:56):
so much fun to be with.

Speaker 3 (22:58):
Well then you know we're not the ugliest people now.

Speaker 2 (23:02):
But considering the fact that I was a social here
with Wilbur and Orville and you with was it the
Civil War? Who were doing? We didn't even talk about
what Lloyd, So we at this point thank you. We're

On Purpose with Jay Shetty

I’m Jay Shetty host of On Purpose the worlds #1 Mental Health podcast and I’m so grateful you found us. I started this podcast 5 years ago to invite you into conversations and workshops that are designed to help make you happier, healthier and more healed. I believe that when you (yes you) feel seen, heard and understood you’re able to deal with relationship struggles, work challenges and life’s ups and downs with more ease and grace. I interview experts, celebrities, thought leaders and athletes so that we can grow our mindset, build better habits and uncover a side of them we’ve never seen before. New episodes every Monday and Friday. Your support means the world to me and I don’t take it for granted — click the follow button and leave a review to help us spread the love with On Purpose. I can’t wait for you to listen to your first or 500th episode!
