playing in this episode, They're like, hey, l's on a job for
It's been a fun couple week orso with this raging sinus infection. Like

(00:48):
I feel pretty good. I justmy face hurts a little bit. I'm
kind of tired. But other thanthat, I just kind of sound like
I should be carrying a balloon fullof helium with me everywhere as an excuse.
So apologies, y'all, this issuch a great chapter. My voice
is not going to do it justice. Yeah, sinus infections are the worst.

(01:11):
So the truth. That was definitelythe truth. Well, before we
get started, um did want tosay thank you. We got a couple
of new reviews there on the oldApple podcasts. One came from Heidi four
four four four five five and shesaid heard about this podcast while listening to

(01:34):
a different one consequent late Consequentially,I had just begun reading the series after
my teenage daughter encouraged me to doso. Your insights, perspectives, interpretations
make my reading experience so much richer. There is a lot I would have
missed without it, and the bestpart of this podcast is has been a
great way to bond with my daughter, who listens to it as well.

(01:55):
We love your positive attitudes and respectfuldialogue about a subject you so obviously joy.
Thank you, Thank you. Fivestars. They said, excellent for
a new Harry Potter readers, andthat is awesome. I love that they
read together. I know. Ialways love the parent kid bonding usage of
this. It makes me feel warmand fuzzy. And that's someday I'll make

(02:17):
her. I'll make my daughter sitdown and listen to this too. She'll
probably be like, god, Mom, you're embarrassing me. Yeah, but
I'm okay with that. Yeah,it's it's fun. I mean, it
makes us happy, that's for sure. And then s Sugal nineteen eighty one
said at the podcast, I neverknew I needed five stars. I'm a

(02:40):
longtime potterhead. For the first timepodcast listener discovered, I'll post a few
days and I'm already on chapter twentybecause it's been going NonStop ever since I
introduced my son. He's a bigHarry Potter fan too, and he agrees
that the depth and the detail andthe discussions is amazing. We're currently going
through the audiobooks for the second timeand we talk about this series and daily

(03:01):
conversations. I'm so grateful we nowhave our posts to enjoy together. Happy
to say this is the first post. Happy to say this is the first
podcast I've heard and will likely remainone of my favorites for life. Oh
another parent bonding. I love this. It's pretty cool. But also I
always do to those people who bingethings are totally my people. Like I

(03:24):

through season two because there's like anyopportunity, like I'll squeeze in an episode
or two, So like being onepisode twenty like kind of the same.
You gate some dedication there. It'slike twenty hours almost of your life that
we've been a part of. Soyou know, those are my peeps,
the ones who sit down and justgo all in. So I love it.

(04:10):
review and we read it on theshow. Thank you so much for everyone
who does that for us. We'reon Twitter at Joint nerd Party, were
on Facebook at Facebook dot com, slash and the nerd Party. We're on
Instagram at the nerd Party and thenof course at the Nerdparty dot com where
you can Sendre and I an emailif you would like. We love getting
those and we just it's it's soexciting. So this is a really exciting

(04:33):
chapter because there's quite a bit thathappens. There's a lot of action too,
so it's one of those chapters, but there are some really important things
that happen. And this is theBattle of Hogwarts chapter thirty one, and
I kind of the movie is somuch different than the book. Really,

(04:53):
yes, oh my gosh, thisis one of the places that it's highlighted
the most, I think is thischapter one, Like so much happens,
um, and it takes I feellike it takes a lot longer in the
movie than it does in the book. Um. It feels like maybe it's
just the scening the way they saidup each scene feels so individual in the

(05:14):
movie, where I feel like thebook really gives this organic urd it slow
to everything, right, Um,but yeah, it's very There's enough really
notable differences that I was like,oh my gosh that you know, we'll
get to one of my favorite differencesthat I actually prefer in the book over
the movie, which shouldn't be surprisedbecause that's usually my preference. But yeah,
I mean, it's it's a big, it's a heavy chapter. It's

(05:36):
a you we talked about the rollercoaster tik tik tik tik tick and now
we're we're cascading down and you know, there's a there's a couple really notable
things that, um. I remembermy first read through. I ended this
chapter and just absolute shock and tears. Yeah, I, um, I
really I'm with you. I think, um, I love the beginning of

(05:58):
the chapter and how you know thatyou know, you've got McGonagall and she's
really um organizing everything and she's youknow, figuring out you know, who
who should say, who should go? You know, um and um the
fact that you know, many ofthe kids they want to stay, and
you know, she tells, look, if you're of age, you can
stay. You know, yeah, make Llie exactly. Um and honestly they

(06:23):
need you, you know, likethis is this is this is Armageddon for
the Wizarding World, right, thisis the end. And so m yeah,
it's it's a lot and and youknow, I like this a lot
that One of the differences here isin the movie they're all kind of moved
into the Great Hall to sleep andrest. So they've all got like cops

(06:44):
or bed rolls that are there. It seems much more organized and structured,
and here it's just like, tome, it's like a bunch of people
crammed into the hall again, kindof sleepily sitting at the table. Is
not really clear what's going on,right, It's not. It feels more
like or and can reel um what'shappening, and then her kind of dismissing
them by table um, which we'llget to in a second, because that's

(07:06):
my favorite difference. Um, theway the way she kind of like dismisses
and handles them all too is isdifferent if it feels more more McGonagall,
disc right, it feels more fcharacter. Yeah. Well, and and
this is the point too, isthey're doing all this, you get the
you know, the voiceover from Voldemortsaying, you know, I don't want

(07:29):
to spill any magical blood. Idon't want to fight you. Just give
me Harry Potter and we could goour separate ways basically, and you know,
you have till midnight, and thenyou've get Patty Parkinson be like no,
he's right there, and she's andI just love McGonagall. Uh,
you could be the first to leave. Yeah. So this is like,

(07:51):
honestly where the biggest change between thebook and the movie are. So when
that happens, right, she kindof instantly dismisses Lytherin and movie and they
they go. But when Pansy yieldsit at him, this time, each
table just instinctually stands up again infront of Harry, like as a human
shield. They build this student humanshield without without a moment's pause, without

(08:15):
a break, because it's the rightthing to do, you know. And
I think that was so powerful inthe book that we miss in the movie,
right, Like I think a coupleof people kind of like do the
arm thing to him, kind ofpush it. I think McGonagall kind of
like pushes him behind her or ina very matronly way or something like that
in the book or I'm sorry inthe movie. But in the book,

(08:35):
you know, like the students kindof stand up and we're like, that's
not an option, Like, that'snot we're not doing that, guys,
like nope. Um, and youknow it and you know in the book
too, it's it's a character.We know, it's what is I think
that was what was Malfoy's girlfriend fora while. Um, we've we've known
Pansy. I think that's who wetook to the Winter Ball and book four.

(08:58):
Um, so you know it's it'skind of like, okay, you
expected of that character. It makessense from that character. And you know,
she just misses Slytherin first and theyall go and then Hufflepuff fused behind
Raven Cloth you more sticks behind andthen I really do love how with Griffin
or she had to tell them toleave. Jenna individually hustle people who were

(09:22):
underage out and be like, uh, nope, keep going, keep moving,
which seems like such an apparent thing, like if you have kids,
like that's totally what you have todo. Sometimes you'd be like, no,
come on, we're going, let'sgo. Um. So I thought
that that that kind of difference alsokind of shows like, I don't know,
I love the impact for seeing Harryhad on the student body, and

(09:46):
that it's not just I don't know, it's not just Harry and the people
in Harry's kind of like inner circle, but he truly has become a symbol
for them and an inspiration to him. If he's given back enough to the
school and the student body that likethey will just stand up and be like
nope, you're not getting him. That's not a choice, right, And
that's a lot to ask people todo little kids. So for me,

(10:09):
that moment was like, it's small. I think it's only like two sentences
in the book, but I like, definitely so warm and fuzzy. Yeah,
as we moved through the rest ofthe chapter, which didn't leave me
as warm and fuzzy. Yeah,No, this definitely not a warm and
fuzzy chapter, but we do youknow, after that, we've got you
know, the Order of the Phoenixand Um and the teachers all getting together

(10:33):
and they're talking about what their battleplan is, you know, for this
and then I love in this. You know, Harry says, what's great
about this is that this chapter,I, unlike the movie, I think,
does a great job of putting everythingfrom Harry's perspective. So he's just
kind of like he's trying to figureout mainly where Ron and Hermione is are
because he still hasn't been able tofind them. And I loves a Barry

(10:58):
Potter esque moment when he's doing thattoo, like the goddles like aren't you
supposed to be looking for something? He's like, oh yeah, yes,
yes, that was my favorite,Like like the fact that he and part
of that is because he's he's notquite himself because he doesn't have h you
know, Ron and Hermione with himand so m and this is really interesting

(11:20):
because you know, he's thinking tohimself, Okay, where am I going
to find this thing that nobody's beenable to find? And this is another
place and I think, as we'vetalked about before, I think she's done
a really good job of talking abouthow Harry is so good about putting puzzle
pieces together, and he remembers thisidea that this is a thing that nobody

(11:43):
has seen in living memory, andso he runs down nearly headless Nick and
he's he asks him, you know, about who the ghost is because he
can't remember, because that's classic Harry, um, you know, he hasn't
read Hogwarts of History, and sohe doesn't remember who the ghost is.
And he says, Oh, it'sthe Gray Lady. But he's like,
oh, but I could help you. And I like how Harry's like,

(12:05):
no, it's okay, thanks, that's all I needed. And he's like,
oh, day body. And sobut he finds the Gray Lady and
it's a really interesting conversation that theyhave because the Gray Lady does not want
to tell her story, and Ilove how the reason that she doesn't want

(12:28):
to tell her story is that itis a very sad story. But also
it's kind of an embarrassing story forher. You know, it's not a
story that she's proud of. Andthere are some really interesting reasons in this
story as to why and the story. So yeah, all of that is
great. It's it's another sign ofhow Harry kind of like thinks outside the

(12:50):
box and has great deductive reasoning rightwell, keeps seeing living well, what
that's someone not living right? Howmany people can get to that point?
And I love that, and Ido love as we hear the Gray Lady's
story, it's different in the bookthan it is the movie, Like there's
some elements that are the same, but like we completely have left out the

(13:11):
bloody Baron from the movie entirely right. We've talked about how really the only
ghost we know is nearly headless Nick. And then we get the Gray Lady
at the very very end here andin them in the movie, they gave
her an interesting personality. She's likeshe she's just like she's embarrassed, but

(13:33):
she's like angry and almost demonic attimes about it, instead of in this
where she's just very withdrawn about allof it. So we get a very
interesting story about the Gray Lady andhow you know she stole her mother's dyem
because she wanted to be as cleveras she wanted to be more clever and
witty than her mother was, andhow her mother was ashamed of this and

(13:54):
wouldn't tell anybody, apparently didn't tellany of the other founders of Hogwarts nothing.
They all died still thinking she hadit. But the way that she
her mom hunted her down and shesent a suitor after her that she knew
could find anyone, which turns outto be the Bloody Baron, And we
really get to learn his back storyat the same time, right, how

(14:16):
it was basically a murder suicide, and we're going deep here. This is
dark, guys. It's basically amurder suicide. He kills his love,
very Shakespearean, feels guilty, killshimself, and you know, she never
had the opportunity to tell anybody inher living days where she had hidden her
mother's dynam so it just went lost, right, And that's really where it

(14:41):
gets interesting, because you know,we find out that it was in a
tree in Alpenia and that she'd onlyaller told one other person. And I
like how during this conversation Harry,Harry kind of turns and says like he
doesn't know how he earned her confidence, like he's not sure why she she's
telling him this, right, butyou know he'll go with it. And

(15:03):
it turns out it's because she fellvictim to the same thing everyone else fell
victim too. With Baldemore right,Tom Riddle wooed the pants off her and
made her feel special and charmed andall that stuff, which again is a
little different. And the biggest differencehere between the book and the movie,

(15:24):
not to only talk about the differences, is you know, Harry talks to
her. You know, in themovie, she makes this big point about
how she knows that Valdimore what hedid with it. She knows he took
it, he defiled it. It'sthe Sully thing now, and she's angry
about it. That is nowhere inthe book at all. Like, I
don't know where that. I don'tknow where that whole storyline came from.

(15:46):
It was completely unnecessary. I reallyappreciate here that Harry's actually the one that
deduces where it is now and whatit is. Right, she still has
no idea what it is. Shestill thinks it's in a tree in Albania
or something. I don't know. She just knows that he knows too,
right, So I like how hegets again another opportunity for him to sort

(16:07):
of deduce through the puzzle. Yeah, and I think You're absolutely right,
because you know, one of thethings that's really interesting is Harry, you
know, even mentions to her,He's like, you know, you're not
the first person that riddle wormed thingsout of, you know, and so
and yes, he absolutely knows wherehe hit it. You know, he

(16:30):
knows exactly where it is because Tomwould have been confident that only he could
be the one. He would havebeen so arrogant to think he would be
the only one that can find it, you know. And I think it
is really really interesting in that. And so as Harry's kind of running back
towards where the common room is,you know, he's running into other people

(16:52):
seeing the battle going on. Andthis is one again, this is another
really interesting part of this is youknow, the movie focuses obviously much more
on the the battle and things happeninglike that, but this, the book
is very much more dealing with what'sgoing on, specifically with Harry and this
whole struggle of trying to find thisthis hork Rux and I love him finally

(17:14):
running into Ron and Hermione and forgiveme, but and he just goes,
where the hell have you been?It was just really funny because It's one
of the few times where she doesn'tjust say he cursed set them. She
allows him to say it. Andit's very funny because he's looking for them
this whole time, and the storythat they have to tell is so much

(17:36):
fun. And this is another placewhere Ron really gets the shine. Yeah,
it really is. And before wetalk too much about that, part
of the deduction I really love isthat Harry gets to actually go back,
what is it like a one booktwo books to his lessons with Dumbledore and

(17:56):
some of the things he's learned fromthe pensive to connect the dots, right,
Like Dumbledore started showing him things heknew had some significance, but he
didn't know what the significance was.Right, I'm gonna give you a bunch
of pieces and we're going to figureout what this whole story looks like together.
Right. We don't have the coverof the puzzle box, we just
have the pieces, right, Andyou know, he really uses that to

(18:18):
his advantage by remembering that one ofthe pieces he thought that Dumbledore thought was
important was Valdemart coming to ask fora job, and how that all played
out and how it like it's disappointingbut that he really felt like there was
an alter but he really felt likethere was an ulterior motive to him being
there, and it turns out thereabsolutely was. And I love Harry putting

(18:40):
those pieces together so nicely and usingwhat dumbled working of him because that's so
important. Well, and that's allthe way from book too as well.
Yeah, it's so far back, like he remembered everything he you know,
it's it's just that long. It'sthe long game she plays when she writes,
right, it's the same thing. But yeah, so we get some

(19:02):
clever Ron and I really like umand I love that Hermione's like over the
moon bragging about him. She's gotlike a super proud, proud parent face
on right now, which turns intonot parent here very quickly. But you
know, apparently we know that Harrytalks into sleep and Ron's picked up some
parcel tongue and they went down andopened the Chamber of Secrets and grabbed the

(19:26):
basilisk veins out of the skull whichwe see in the movie, but it's
not a skull, it's the fullsnake still, which is totally weird and
not at all right, by theway, guys, snake would have deteriorated
over the last six years. Infact, it would probably smell terrible down
there. It would be so grossdown there. But yeah, they did

(19:47):
it, and you know, theycame back and they've got the fangs and
they're like, we can take careof stuff now, like sweet and he
made hermione face for fears and takecare of the cup, which I don't
know if we see that, wesee that not really no, not really,
yeah, and we don't even reallyknow what it is here other than
her facing her fears so right, and we just we just know that she

(20:10):
gets to take care of the cup. Um, and you know, that
whole thing is just it's so interesting. M and then they have their little
moment that we get in the movie, but we get it in front of
Harry here, which I think isso much funnier. And it's so funny
because before that moment happens, wehave um the last person coming through with
Albert fourth with Missus long Bottom thatwe finally get to have Grandma here and

(20:34):
she goes off to find her sonand assist him fighting, which she's you
know, you could tell her she'salready so proud, and we get Um,
Harry telling Ginny's like, I needyou to come out of the Room
of Requirement because are out of thisroom because we need to use it.
But you need to stay close becausethen you need to come back in once

(20:55):
we're done. You know, He'spretty clear about that, And of course
Jinny's like, okay, that's fine, Yeah, exactly. And I really
love that. The reason that Hermionegets so tickled with Ron is because he
goes, oh, don't need todo we need to check on the house
elves so we can get them outof here, and oh yeah, And
in that moment, Hermione comes undoneand just wraps her arms around Ron and

(21:19):
plants one on him, and it'sit's not just a little kiss, like
they're making out for a second,and Ron I love that. Harry's like,
guys, and my favorite is hisactual phrase that she writes, Oi,
there's a war going on here.Yeah, it's so cute. Um.

(21:40):
We also had Tonks in the roomwho ran off after Loup, after
Remiss, after Lupin. Even thoughshe's supposed to be at home with the
little one and her parents. Um, you know, remis trying to take
care of her and she couldn't sitby just like Jenny, right there two
pieces in a pod, those twoum. But yeah, no it uh,
it's just so funny. And Ithink she even writes it kind of

(22:00):
like lifts hermione off the floor alittle bit. The embrace knows um.
And then they But the funny thingis they totally forget about the house Elves
after that, Yes, they do, they do. They just totally move
on. Well, and it's it'sit's because of course, you know,
they are very much worried about gettingthis um, trying to find the diadem,

(22:22):
and so they're able to get intothe room and they're splitting up looking
for it, and it turns outthat crab Goyle and Malfoy are in there,
and it turns into a fight asthey try to get there. The
biggest thing here is that Harry rememberswhere it is because he's seen it before
he realizes he's seen it yep,um from when he went hiding the Potion's

(22:47):
book back in book five. Mmhmm, And if I believe correctly,
it shows up in book four aswell, which the first time he finds
the Room of Requirement. Yeah,so it's it's yeah, it's pretty crazy
and it's just one of those throwawaylines she has uh in there that you

(23:07):
know, there's a there's a youknow everything from this guy dressed up as
Yeah, exactly so um and it'sso interesting here. So we get this
confrontation with like, you know,Malfoy and his his gang if you will,
um, which is different than themovie because actually a side note a
tip if you didn't already know this, the actor who played Coyle or Crab,

(23:30):
I can't remember which one one ofthe two is replaced in this scene
with Blaze. Um we meet it'ssome book because the actor actually couldn't be
licensed on set because he had beenarrested or like drug possession or something like
that, so they had to replacehim in this movie because his role was

(23:51):
so small that um it was Ithink it's Crab because it's whoever starts the
fire, um, because it does. It's such an inconsequent character. But
they needed there to be three ofthem so that two of them could survive.
But yeah, it's a change here, right, because you get back
to the normal who you'd expect tobe there with Malfoy, right, and

(24:12):
we get kind of a little tasteof the fact that Malfoy is kind of
not the leader of this gang anymore. No, they definitely don't respect him
very much anymore after what has happenedto his parents. And of course,
you know, he brings up thefact that he spent a ton of time
here last book with all the workthat he was doing on the vanishing cabinet,

(24:33):
and so yes, it turns intoa huge battle. They're able to
finally, you know, get thetiara, and then you have Crab setting
cursed fire to this room and theyfind some brooms they get on them,
and then they hear a cry,and you know, Ron is on the

(25:00):
broom with Harry and he's like,if we die, because we're saving them,
Harry, I'm gonna kill you.Yeah, and I do love And
it's kind of subtle, but we'vetalked a little bit about it already that
Malfoy, so he's not the leaderof this gang anymore. But he also
isn't quite as outwardly vindictive as hasbeen before. Right when he talked about

(25:26):
when Harry was on the floor atmalfoy Manor he didn't id him right away
when he very easily could have afew little instances like that and it kind
of happens here too, because Craband Goyle are really quickly trying to go
after Harry and be like physically aggressivewith him, right, And Malfoy's like,
but wait, he's here looking forsomething and there has to be It's
almost like he's trying to make atrade. If I can get what Harry's

(25:49):
looking for, I don't have togive them Harry, right, I can
still when good graces, because whateverHarry must be looking for must be important
to Lord Baltimore, right, Right, So he's trying to kind of think
outside the box and almost protect Harrya little bit with like both stapping them
from sort of physically assaulting him atfirst, but also by trying to come

(26:11):
up with a bargaining chip besides givingthe dark Lord Harry to can I get
a dark Lord the other thing hewants instead? Right? And that's not
the Malfoy we knew in books funthrough like five, right, And so
I think that's an interesting change, and he kind of it's kind of subtle
throughout the book. He doesn't likeoutwardly say like I don't want to give

(26:32):
him Harry, but he definitely keepstrying to redirect them to a new goal
and objective and they're just not havingany of it, and he kind of
like ends up getting kicked the backwhen they tell him they don't care about
you know, he has no sayanymore. I get back here, buddy,
And then that's when all the fightingbegins and the fire comes and they're
flying around and they end up findingMalfoy with Goyle, who's unconscious at this

(26:59):
point um, and they you know, they try to grab him on the
rooms to rescue them, but atthis point they've lost the diadem with everything
going on, um, and they'relike okay, and then Harry cashes it
out of the corner of his eyebefore he leaves, and that's when Draco's
our instacillaris it's well and it's umand then you know, they're able to

(27:22):
get out of the room, andyou know, Crab unfortunately is dead and
Harry realizes that holding the holding thediadem, that it's broken like that,
that there's this like blood like substancecoming out of it, and then disintegrates
in front of him exactly, andHermione is like, it must be fiend

(27:45):
fire, which is this cursed firewhich Hermione is like I knew that this,
you know, uh would destroy theWe can destroy that, but I
would never have started it because youcan't stop it once it started so right,
And I love that they're like, man, where did he even learn
that? M And I think it'sRon who makes a quip. And then

(28:06):
someone's like, oh, he probablylearned it from the Caros and he's like,
yeah, probably should have paid alittle closer attention on how to stop
it. And he's like, ifhe hadn't been trying to kill us,
i'd actually feel bad that he died. Yeah, well, they've up to
Ron to come in out of thatone. With that one, Well,
it's really interesting because then you knowHermione is like, you realize what this

(28:26):
means. We just have to getthe snake. We just have to get
Nagini. And so they break offand they run towards a fight that's going
on, and Percy is there fightingthe quote unquote minister thick knees and he's
making jokes, which is funny becauseFred's like, Percy, you're you're joking,
like you're actually making a joke.I don't think I've ever heard you

(28:48):
make a joke. And that's whenan explosion happens, throws everybody off their
feet, flying through the air,and as Harry wakes up Fred it turns
out has died. Yeah, andRon and Percy are there like looking at

(29:10):
him, and um, I dolove though. I mean, so it's
sad. I'm even tearing up now, even though I've read this like a
dozen times and I knew this wascoming. But like even I love that
she says, he you know,he looks up like it's his eyes are
blank, but his face is stillthe ghost of the laugh that he was
having. I mean, that's soperfect for him, right, Like the
whole thing is about how much heloves to laugh and find joy in life.

(29:34):
And so it's it's really nice thateven though she chose to kill off
this character, she sent him offin almost like a it's like an honorable
slash, very like fitting death forhim, Um, fighting for his family
and his loved ones and having juststill having the time of his life while
doing it. No, it's wonderful. Uh. The interesting thing we kind

(29:59):
of he doesn't really touch on itsuper well, and it's kind of like
a personal theory I have. Um, it'll it'll play out a little bit
more as we finished the next coupleof chapters here and finished the book.
Um, but when they're discussing it, and she's kind of quiet, you
know Hermione kind of says it quietly, so like she announces it to the
world like I would be stupid enoughto do be like so excited to like
shout it, and twenty people hearme say it. Um. But you

(30:21):
know, she mentions the snake becausethe last one to Harry and Ron.
But Draco's still there. Draco's stillright there. You know, he hasn't
gone anywhere, he hasn't disappeared.Um, they don't really acknowledge he's there,
but he's there, right, Theytogether point he's unconscious, is he?
M yeah, because him and Goyleare still unconscious at that point.

(30:45):
Coyle was definitely unconscious. I don'tknow what I caught that. Malfoy was
yeah, Um, yeah, sheYou know, there's there's a lot that
happens in the Malfoy dynamic here. From the rest of the book, it
becomes actually very very important. Um. And so you know, it's just
it's interesting kind of how much thatpermeates throughout this whole book. You don't
even realize it in a little bit. But yeah, it's a sad way

(31:06):
to end. It's like a shockingsad way to end, right because we
go that's where she ends the chapterswith the ghost of his laugh on his
face. Um, and then wehave to wait till next week to talk
about what happens from here, right, I think, yeah, you have
a little bit of a pause inthe battle coming up, and uh,
the lot that happens, right, nothing actually goes on pause. Well,

(31:29):
one thing I wanted to mention beforewe we end is that Harry had earlier
run into Hagrid and Grop, sowe will see them as well later.
It wasn't necessarily oh yes, yes, wasn't necessarily important to the flow of
what happens in the chapter, butit's important to remember. Here bring awareness
back, Yeah, brings some awarenessback that he's around and and here for

(31:52):
this because he had been hiding outin a cave for a while, because
you know, he wasn't we show. Yeah. No, I think that's
a good call out. Um.And uh and it's also going to be
kind of different from the movie too, yep. Um, So yeah,
I think that's a good that's agood call out. Um, we also

(32:13):
really haven't heard a whole lot frommissus Weasley in this UM chapter specifically,
Um, I think we know she'sthere because of the previous chapter UM with
her yelling at Jenny. But um, she's around, she's wanting to fight
out there doing some fighting, andshe'll also come into play here in the
next chapter or two as well,So I think it's also good to keep
an eye and an awareness back onher. Yeah. This it. We've

(32:37):
got so much that's going to happenin these next few chapters. And I
mean, you know, honestly, this is our first big loss, you
know, uh and after yeah, you're made at the beginning of the and
then this is and Dwick and nowthis is it. Yeah yep, so
uh yeah, And I meant, this is the first big loss of this

(32:57):
battle, um, and we're goingto get more. Unfortunately, well,
we had a good break, likewe had those two losses at the beginning
of the book, and then wehad kind of a reprieve and now this
is like the start of the endof Like, this is just the beginning
of what we're going to feel.So those of you who are reading this
for the first time, like, get some tissues ready, this is not
the end of it. I haveno one to ruin any more than that.

(33:22):
But I think you all saw thatcoming, so I like I would
have preferred someone tell me I needtissues when I read this book, so
bring them with you this time.Yeah, absolutely so well, Dreya,
that is the last we have forthis chapter. So before we get to
the next chapter, where can everybodyfind you? Yeah, I want to

(33:45):
tell me which cartoon character I soundedlike the most to see my voice is
going now if you want to tellme which cartoon character I remind you the
most of today. But you canfind me on Twitter at pcf check or
on Instagram at Dreya Kaufman and it'sclfm an And you could find me on

(34:06):
social media all over the place underMatt Rushing zero to just search the platform
and if I'm there, you'll findme. You can also find me if
you love podcasts. I'm doing podcastsall the time. So here on the
network, I do aggressive negotiations withJohn Mills as we talk about Star Wars
each week. Then on the TFMnetwork, I'm doing a few shows.

(34:28):
One is called The six o twoClub. That's our general geek show.
We were talking about all of thefandoms that we love there, not just
one. I've also got with JohnMills over there in that same feed Snyder
cuts where we're walking through every singlething that Zack Snyder's directed as we look
towards his Justice League coming out.And then of course over there, I'm

(34:49):
also doing literary treks in the ORB. Literary treks is about the books and
the comics of Star Trek, andthe ORB is about Star Trek Deep Space
nine. But thank you so muchfor checking your outpost, mister Nawage.

Stuff You Should Know
Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
