Speaker 1 (00:16):
Welcome to the Paranormal Mysteries podcast, and thank you all
for being here. I am your host, Nick Ryan. Today's
first Midweek mystery comes to us from Michael. Michael says,
a little over three months ago, ME and my sister
in law were hanging out watching a scary movie. About
(00:37):
two hours in, she had to take a phone call
and I decided to go to the bathroom. After using
the bathroom, when I entered the living room, there was
something in the corner, a sort of disfigured human shape
facing towards the wall. I didn't get a good look,
as I wasn't sticking around to find out what it was.
(00:58):
But after this encounter, weird stuff has kept happening to me,
such as me constantly waking up in cold sweats after
horrifying twisted nightmares, having random items move around my house,
and seeing things that aren't there. After experiencing those things
for at least a month, I decided to try and
(01:19):
talk to a doctor to see if I might be
experiencing psychosis or hallucinations caused by stress or fear. After
going to the doctor, we tried medication, but it didn't work.
To this day, I'm still experiencing feelings of being watched
and stuff around my room moving. I presume that it
(01:41):
might be some sort of poltergeist or something like that,
but I'm not really knowledgeable about that stuff, but that's
what I presume from my knowledge. Our next midweek mystery
comes to us from Jordan. Jordan's story is called Shadow People.
Jordan says, hello, I would like to preface this by
(02:05):
saying that I'm not entirely sure what was going on,
and as such take this story with a grain of salt,
as it is all just speculation. When I was young,
I loved to watch construction and anything of that nature,
so I spent a good amount of time looking out
the window at whatever happened to be going on outside.
And I suppose that this is where it started. Every
(02:28):
now and then I would see something dart across my
vision so fast I barely had time to register it.
It appeared as a shadow, and I called, believing it
was a tallish man with a top hat. The whole
being was jet black as a shadow, but not the
same kind of black as a shadow, if that makes
any sense. It wasn't fuzzy around the edges. It was
(02:51):
stark and obvious. So this persisted for a few years.
All the time I was very young, not old enough
to describe it in detail, but certainly old enough to
be afraid, at times, driving me to tears. Of course,
my mother didn't know what to make of it. I
guess she assumed it was my imagination. I did have
(03:12):
a very active mind at this age, and I routinely
told very intricate, made up stories, all from memory. Not
to brag, but it was very advanced for my age.
Point being, it was all too easy for my sweet
mother to write off as a whimsical tale. Flash forward
to my teenage years. Much time had passed since I
(03:34):
had seen the top hat man. My friend came over
to spend the night, and we played video games, talked
about girls, ate more than enough food, all of the
normal teenage things. When it came time to go to bed,
my buddy had decided he wanted to sleep on the couch,
which was fine by me because I preferred to sleep
in the hammock. Anyway, it is important to note that
(03:57):
we were sleeping in the basement, and this isn't the
only story I have from that basement. I should also
mention by this time I had moved houses. Something weird
about me is that I hate peeing in the middle
of the night. I absolutely hate it. So to avoid this,
I pee two or three times right before bed, to
(04:18):
avoid this petty vice that I have. That being said,
I of course did not get up in the middle
of the night. I never do. And it wasn't until
weeks later that I was telling the above account from
when I was very young to some of my older pals,
and my friend who had spent the night was also there.
After I had told all I had to tell, my
(04:41):
buddy jutted in and told us all that in the
middle of the night he had woke up and seen
a dark figure standing in the doorway, and he described
it the same way I would describe the top hat man,
although he didn't mention a top hat. That was the
only difference. Upon seeing this being, he assumed it was
me and groggily spoke out Jordan, but the figure didn't respond.
(05:06):
He promptly rolled over and said okay, fine, good talk,
before drifting off again. When he had concluded his story,
I told him that I had not gotten up that night,
and in fact, I had slept quite well. At this point,
we considered never sleeping in the basement again, which sounded
to me like a good idea. Luck, I said, this
(05:29):
isn't the only story I have, and in fact, isn't
the only story that I have from that same basement,
and perhaps I will submit those in the future. I
am curious if you have any ideas as to what
this figure or figures could have been. Thank you for
your podcast. I enjoy listening and may God bless you, Jordan.
(05:55):
Our next story of the Night comes from Hazel. Hazel's
story is called work Ghost. Hazel says, I wanted to
share with you ongoing paranormal happenings at my place of work.
I work in a country store that sells farm animal feed,
DIY products, and outdoor clothing. I've worked there since two
(06:16):
thousand and six, when I was eighteen years old. In
my first year there, I was the store's administrator and
was occasionally in charge of locking up at night and
opening up again in the morning. Well, although I wasn't
the only one with a key, an alarm goes off
even if a key is used between certain hours. I
was the last person out one evening and I'd locked
(06:38):
up the door, activated the alarm and secured the gate.
I was the first person in the next day to
open up. Also before I left that night, I had
to check down all the aisles of the shop to
make sure they were all clear of stock, shopping carts
or rubbish. When I came in the next morning, I
opened up as I was the first to arrive, and
(07:00):
when I entered into the building, I walked down the
aisle in which there are fifteen kilogram dog food bags
on either side. In the center of that aisle there
was a stack of five fifteen kilogram dog food bags
stacked perpendicular to one another in a pile. Now, occasionally
dog food bags can be slippery and slide off if
(07:21):
they are on top of the shelf and not placed correctly. However,
I checked the night before and there was nothing down
the aisle, and where the bags were is way farther
than they could have fallen by themselves. They were also
stacked neatly and precisely. I was very creeped out, and
I checked the c C t V camera when other
(07:43):
staff came in so I wasn't alone, but the camera
that was trained on that area of the store, which
had been recording fine, began to go to static on
the screen between three o three a m. And three
twenty five a m. And when the recording became clear again,
the bags were stacked. The other cameras covering the outside
(08:04):
showed that nobody had entered the building to play a
prank on me. I refused to be at work on
my own for a few weeks after that. We have
since called the ghost Fred. I've experienced more with this ghost.
He's quite the prankster, but he also has helped me
out with things as well. I don't know for sure
if the ghost is male, but that's the feeling I
(08:26):
get from them, and I decided to give him a
name rather than just refer to him as the ghost,
so I could chat to him or ask him to
put things back that he's moved as a prank. I'm
not the only person who has seen his pranks. A
few months ago, I found out that two other members
of staff have experienced the bags being stacked. Like I
(08:46):
described before, These employees weren't even working there when it
happened to me. I also had a shared experience with
a colleague I'll call her Lynn. There are two offices
next to each other, and we were sitting in the office.
I had just come in, and as I usually do,
I checked to see if anyone else is in the
other office when I pass by to say hi. Well,
(09:09):
there was nobody in the office when I passed, and
there is only one doorway in and out. I had
come from the canteen before going to the office, and
I was the only person out there other than Lynn.
I asked her where our assistant manager was. I'll call
him John. She said she didn't know, so I decided
to wait in the office until he came back from
(09:31):
the shop floor. We both heard the door between the
shop floor and the back office open and close. I
instinctively looked out the open door into the hallway and
saw a figure quickly dart from the hallway into the
other office. Now, our uniform is all black and John
is very tall, around six foot, so although I didn't
see the figure clearly, it looked like him, so I
(09:54):
instinctively shouted through to him that I needed to speak
with him about something. Lynn had seen the figure go
into the other office at the same time that I did.
I asked her that was John, wasn't it She replied,
must have been was too tall to be anyone else.
I got annoyed he was ignoring me, so I got
up out of the chair and marched in there. The
(10:14):
room was empty and we would have seen if anyone
had come out of the room. I told Lynn, who
thought I was joking, and then came to stand next
to me. We then looked all around the back office area.
Bear in mind, the door between the back offices and
the shop floor is loud and distinct, and we had
only heard it once when we thought he had come in.
(10:36):
We checked the stock cupboard, the bathrooms, the canteen, and nothing.
We were freaked out, to say the least. We have
since concluded that it must have been Fred. His other
antics include hiding things like scissors and tape when you
need it, and when you turn back around after deciding
to get on with something else, they show up where
(10:57):
you have looked numerous times. Also, when I have been
in the back office area on my own on a Sunday,
heard typing as if a colleague is in one of
the offices on a computer, only to go in there
to find nobody. I've heard phantom coughs when nobody is around,
and nothing to make a sound even remotely like that.
(11:18):
He doesn't scare me anymore. I talk to him, and
sometimes when I'm in the stock room looking for something,
if I ask him to make a noise in the
direction the item is, he often does so and helps me.
I believe he is always in the building, but not
always actively pranking people. He's never giving me the feeling
of fear or dread. Confusion, yes, but not fear. Sometimes
(11:43):
it's quite comforting feeling his presence in the offices when
I'm on my own. I'm sure there will be more
notable antics in the future, which I will share with
you when they happen. I hope all your listeners are
staying safe and healthy kind regards. Before I continue, Please

our less Midweek mystery comes to us from Kevin. Kevin's
story is called Strange Occurrences. Kevin says, Hello, First off,
(12:52):
I just want to say that I love your show
and I've been listening for years. But anyway, here's my story.
So about a year ago, round the same time of year, actually,
I had a series of events happened to me that
I honestly cannot explain and I would like answers to
if possible. The first occurrence was with owls. One night,
(13:13):
around two a m. I heard two owls outside. They
were not close, they were far. I only really heard
the echoes, which to me was strange that I woke
up since I'm a pretty heavy sleeper. I heard them
for a round two minutes and then suddenly nothing. The
next day the same, but they were closer. This went
(13:34):
on for days until at one point one of the
owls was in a small garage in front of my
house and another was on top of my next door
neighbor's house. At that point I walked out to get
a closer look, but they would fly away. I told
my parents and my aunt and they kind of just
shook it. Off, and so did I until one night
(13:55):
I heard one single owl, but this time it was
on my roof. I went out to catch a glimpse,
and I felt it look at me, and it felt
like an eternity until it just flew away silently. The
whole day I was looking up owl noises and found
it to be a great horned owl, which are said
to be very in tune with the spiritual world. And
(14:17):
this is where it gets weird. The next night there
were no owls. However, I could not sleep and I
felt hot and burning. It was weird, and for hours
I laid awake, so I decided to go downstairs to
the living room, since downstairs was always a bit colder.
I laid down on the couch and still could not sleep.
(14:39):
I started to hear talking in my parents room, and
my father walked out. He asked me what I was doing,
and I told him that I couldn't sleep, and I
asked him what was wrong, since his voice was shaky.
He then told me that his father had just passed away.
The thing that got me though, was my response. The
words that were going to come out of my mind
(15:00):
mouth were I know, But I caught myself and I'd
laid there, just confused as to why. I felt as
if I knew what had happened. I wasn't sad or shocked.
I just knew. In the coming months, I had dreams
of a car accident, and the next day I would
see the car accident going to school. Another dream I
(15:21):
had was all the lights in my house were flickering
and all the blinds were shaking, almost like a hurricane
was in my house. I would hear whispers in the wind,
nothing that I could make out, but just a sudden
gust of wind, and I would hear a voice, but
nothing around me, no one around me. That went on
for a while, and it drove me nuts. I would
(15:43):
get very strong feelings of anxiety stress for no reason
until on the news I would see something tragic, or
whatever I saw in the dreams would come true, and
I would finally be at peace, as if my body
was anticipating something. One night, I woke up to the
owls again. There were three of them this time, but
I remembered what happened the last time that I heard them,
(16:05):
so I shut my window and they never came back.
I still at times have those dreams. I still get
that anticipating feeling, but not as bad anymore. I don't
usually dream, and again they aren't as often as they
used to be, but they still happen, and I still
kind of wait for the owls, even though deep down
(16:26):
I never liked the feeling that they gave me. I
don't know if this is me being insane, but I
have no explanation, and I have kept this to myself
up until now. I have had time to think about it,
and back then I just ignored it all. I think
it's insane, and again I just want answers. I have
always loved the paranormal. I have always kept an open
(16:49):
mind to it, and I have a lot more stories
to tell about my past experiences, but I'll save those
for another time. Thank you all for listening, Kevin. As
we come to the end of this edition of Midweek Mysteries,
