Science. We speak in science,we trust. Hi, this is science.
Well speak and welcome to another episode. How are you doing everybody?
I hope you will be fine andwe'll work again with another issue. This

(00:24):
time. It didn't take me along time. I did not constumplate too
much to find any initie to talkabout. Thanks to Mexican Congress. We
will come back to that. Butlet me tell you about the book recently
i'm reading. It is called TheBlind Watchmaker, another super book by Richard
Dawkins. I'm taking a lot ofnotes and I recommend you to read,

(00:50):
of course, and at least everyweek I'll try to recommend a new side
fi book. It's a very smoothreading about how Darwinian natural selection is being
unconscious and automatic and very random. So I'm not going to talk about much

(01:11):
about the book to lest you wander, I want to say welcome for the
new listeners and followers. Please makesure you follow and turn the notifications on
to make sure that you don't missan episode. And you can join our
Instagram, Facebook and Telegram channel communities. For each episode, you can let
us know what you think. Youcan write in the comments and as always

(01:36):
in Telegram channel we share science magazinesfor free, So let's dive in today's
matter. We will talk about asyou see from the title, about the
so called two aliens that are exhibited, Well is that the right word exhibited
or let's say, revealed in theCongress of Mexico. Is this reel should

(01:57):
we get scared in in case theremight be an alien invasion? We will
all clarify it. By the way, concerning this matter, we already have
an episode very similar from the lastyear that you may like to listen it
number twenty two Fermi Paradox. Arewe alone in the universe? We made

(02:20):
quite a little bit of brainstorm inthat episode, and we have an article
on free astroscience dot com as Imentioned earlier, as always our sponsor for
the episode. You can find linksin the description below. So now let's
talk about the aliens. On Wednesdaylast week, two specimens alleged to be

(02:46):
aliens, well, they were technicallyclaimed to be the remains of aliens.
They were presented before the Mexican Congress. So I wonder what you think about
it, guys. In the firstplace, is what has come to my
mind that why there were only twoof them? Is it like years ago,
they visited us, and they wentback, leaving two of them behind.

(03:09):
Well, should have come back already, right, I mean, to
get them back or for a revengeor something or whatever the purpose they visited
in the first place. They werenot really faithful friends at already they didn't
come back again. Well, wewill dive into this, into this more

(03:29):
scientific background, of course, butlet's just warm up a little bit,
right and not gonna lie. I'mhaving fun quite a bit. And the
appearance was more like it's popped upfrom the movie Alien et if you watched
it, you know what I mean. Well, the look how they look,

(03:50):
it was a little bit weird, but also way too simple, think
very simple. And these suppose alienbodies were presented by a renowned you fallogists
and journalists. It of course causedlet's say quite asterone social media feeling speculation
about the existence of extraterrestrial beings. Some people might have believed, though the

(04:14):
mummified bodies housed in display cases haveunique features such as elongated heads and three
fingers. These bodies were found intwenty seventeen near the ancient Nasca Lines in
Peru. While carbon dating conducted bythe National Autonomous University of Mexico suggests that

(04:35):
these bodies are over one thousand yearsold. A striking creature within one of
the bodies was the presence of structuresresembling eggs. Well detail scans were carried
out by doctor Jose Benitez, thedirector of Mexican Navy's Scientific Institute for Health.

(04:55):
He revealed these bodies possessed retractable necks, lack teeth, and have enlarged
brains and large eyes, suggesting advancedstereoscopic vision. So, first of all,
these bodies might be created, orlet's say, made by other humans
like us that lived in the past, assuming the carbon dating tests were fully

(05:19):
correct and accurate. Taking into accountthe ancient times people's imagination, and this
all could be possible. Right,we know that there were lots of strange
statues resembling we had creatures. Theywere all the products of human imagination.
Thanks to the myths and the legends, people may simply imagine of being human

(05:43):
like creatures or any resemblance of somethingmight have led them to think or make.
These ideas gave birth to such creatures. This does not really prove anything
for the time being. This wasthe first thing, and more importantly as
we slowly get our hands into scientificexplanation of them. Let me tell you

(06:05):
a little bit more about the scientificmethod by Karl Popper. So he says
a scientific result cannot be justified,it can only be criticized and tested.
The theory is about how knowledge growsinvolved methods of trial and error. This
is exactly what we know now rightabout the universe. We make observations,

(06:30):
we make tests at the end ofand if they cannot be falsified, we
approve or accepted as the best andthe most accurate explanation, unless the opposite
is being approved. Am I right? So we know that the relativity for
example, accepting as the best explanationabout, for example, the black holes,

(06:55):
it does not give any answers atall to quantum mechanics questions, and
we say, yeah, this isthe best explanation for that matter. It
cannot be falsified. But of coursewe know the mathematical background of it.
For example, there are mathematically equationsfor the worm holes, but we cannot

(07:15):
observe it yet, we cannot justfalsify it. Well, but in the
future as scientist, for example, getting back to our issue, a scientist
shows up and proves that another theorylike theory of everything, explains the whole
thing. With one single theory ofmacro and the micro, we will scientifically

(07:38):
approve and support it, and rightafter knowing that it cannot be falsified.
So here we have two alien likecreatures or whatever, mummify it like bodies,
and it was declared as aliens. But they will make them pass all
the steps of the scientific method.I'm not necessarily talking about this metabod overall

(08:01):
for the old type of theories, let's say, did really pass them.
There must be scientists and experts thatshould study on these aliens before even showing
them or declaring the world as ifthey were real. Well, that was
not cool. Probably they want peopleto believe in this. And recently,

(08:26):
as you may all see that thisalien issue has been a trend or mainstream
or something lately, we talked toomuch about alien stuff. Okay, still
there is possibility that they may visitus, but showing them as if they
were real or not scientific declarations anotherthing. But here we need to finally

(08:48):
answer the questions were they real? While in my opinion, from the very
beginning of the images were released,it was a big no. Here's also
let me give you a personnel adviceyou may take, My dear listeners,
always be skeptical in what sense well, as much as it corresponds to our

(09:11):
logic. Well, you should alwaysquestion for such matters. But I don't
want you to be skeptical about theegg plant in your freage. By the
way, I love eggplants. Yeah, you should not question it unless you
deeply dive in a philosophical debate. In that case, you may question everything,
even the reality or the ontological notionsof your existence. So let's continue

(09:37):
the bodies unearthed in Mexico. Theybear a striking resemblance to our popular representations
of aliens, as seen in theirphysical morphology and DNA tests results shared at
the conference by Beneitus. However, this guy, Beneitus, as we've seen
in the past, also has previouslymade similar claims, notably in twenty seventeen

(10:01):
in Peru, which were later debunked. Moreover, the National Autonomous University of
Mexico clarified that their research was merelyfocused on determining the age of the samples,
not detailed biological analysis. Okay, and they also detected a specific type

(10:26):
of algae within the bodies, whichinhibited bacterial or fungal growth, aiding in
their preservation. However, it's crucialto remember that similar cases in the past
involving uniquely featured mummies were later identifiedas child mummies. Like in twenty fifteen,

(10:48):
Mussin similarly revealed a body that heclaims belonged to an alien, but
it was laterly shown to be theremains of a human child, and two
years later he participated in a videoproject claiming that these aliens could be the
evidence of the extraterrestrial Well. Archaeologistsays some of the bodies may have been

(11:13):
indigenous Peruvians mutilated to look extraterrestrial, and report from PERUS prosecutors of fistically aired
the specimens were recently manufactured dolls whichhave been covered with a mixture of paper
and synthetic glue to simulate the presenceof skin, and during the also read

(11:35):
about during the Congress there was aUS Navy pilot that he also shared his
personal experiences with the UFO and theUS government stands on UPHO disclosures in a
significant shift in recent years, asI said earlier, moving away from decades
of secrecy, but still does notprove anything right anything about whether the aliens

(12:00):
are amongst us, and the Pentagonis currently investigating military pilot side things,
and NASA has set up an independentcommission to study uthos. The anticipation is
mounting for the release of a comprehensivestudy on the topic. So the lessons
to take from this episode first,be skeptical for these matters that are more

(12:24):
likely to be untrue, and alwaysapproach the matters with scientific method as I
explained earlier. If they are scientificallyapproved, there's no objection, but we
should make proper tests and follow thecorrect method for this alien matter. They
should make samples available to the worldscientific community. Well, let's assume that

(12:50):
they arrived on Earth long before thousandyears old whatever they're talking about. If
they arrived here, they must havea technology that is very superior to ours.
They may make slaves out of usguys. Literally, think about it.
The technology they have is going tobe like crazy, and will they

(13:11):
even survive in the first place onEarth Since their planet or wherever they live,
wherever they come from, they mighthave supported the life in another way
of carbon focused matter, for example, not like oxygen, even maybe at
different conditions, and think about thegravity they're gonna have probably is different from

(13:37):
than ours because we can not directlyland on Mars and live there. We
talked about it. There are toomany parameters that one cannot go directly from
their inhabitants place. This is themain issue. Then there are many other
things, like the language, theyare signals, they are travel technology.

(14:01):
All that matters. The closest start, remember to our solar system is just
about four point twenty three light yearsaway. Now I want you to think
about the possibility of that journey, and we'll make no further comments on this
issue anymore. And lastly, Iwant to end this episode with one of

(14:24):
my favorite philosophers, Batron Russells Chords. As he once said, science may
set limits to knowledge, but shouldnot set limits to the imagination. Stay
with scientific methods, but keep imaginingand dreaming. And if you like to
see I hope to see you againon the next episode. Stay Curious,

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
