Christopher lost his battle with substance misuse and dependence after 14 years. Like so many others, his battle with opioid dependence began with a single prescription. Christopher was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis in middle school, which led to countless surgeries and 1000’s of prescription opioids. His mother, with him along every step of this fight, witnessed first hand how devastating this affliction can be. When she lost her son, she vowed to do everything in her power to ensure no other parent would suffer the same devastating loss..
