We have an amazing show tonight because it's the fiftieth
year anniversary of the Travis Walton incident. Steve Pierce was
(02:53):
there that night, and he's going to tell us this
incredible story from his perspective going back half a se
entury ago. Then in hour number three, swamp Dweller will
kick things off, followed up by Katie Page and the
encounters we're going to then, you know, we're going to
keep her a little longer. I haven't been in the
mood for the day of one oh one recently, so
(03:15):
we're going to continue with Katie and then we're going
to get into the weird news of the week. All right,
let's hop on to it. Steve Pearce was only a
teenager when he became part of one of the most
famous UFO encounters in history, the nineteen seventy five Travis
Walton abduction case in the Apache Sitgraves National Forest in Arizona.
(03:38):
As the youngest member of the logging crew that witnessed
the blinding light mysterious craft, Steve's life was forever changed
that night. The shocking disappearance of Travis Walton the intense
media and government attention that followed really thrust Steve and
his fellow crew members into a storm of skepticism, fear, crime,
(03:58):
and disbelief. He's here to tell us his story about
what happened that fateful night. Steve Pierce, it's your second
time on Spaced Out Radio, and the one thing that
I want to say to you is this show tonight
was your idea. And you, after we had you on
the show a couple months ago, weren't very comfortable in
(04:20):
wanting to do a lot of interviews. But you reached
out and you said, Dave, I want to do this
on the anniversary. And I just want to say thank
you for that. Thank you for the respect and love
of what we do here in allowing the trust to
build for us to tell your story.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Well, thank you for having me. I appreciate it having
me back.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
Fifty years ago you woke up to go to work.
Did you ever think that you would be a part
of history.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
No, I never thought this would get this big. I
think it would be. It's still mind blowing fifty years ago.
And see where now I was a little bit after
nine o'clock fifty years ago. About now we're talking to
the cops. Travis has already been zapped and we're probably.
Speaker 4 (05:18):
Talking to the.
Speaker 3 (05:20):
Because they when Kenny called him. You want me to
start telling the story or.
Speaker 1 (05:25):
Well, let's just warm the audience up. You were seventeen
years old. I'm going to assume a high school dropout.
You went to go to work, probably for situations that
whatever it is was what was your life prior to
this event?
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Like I went to work and my mom needed the money,
and I lived at home. I had an uncle and
a cousin that worked there the week before and they
quit that Halloween. And that's how I got the job,
(06:02):
was to them, And I was going to quit too,
but my mom wouldn't let me quit, uh because Mike
wasn't wasn't paying.
Speaker 1 (06:16):
So you took it. You took it upon yourself to
go to work to help mom out. I think that's
pretty admirable. Doesn't happen a lot today. But the fact
that you would do that, I mean, shows a kind
of young man you were at that point. Were you
a popular guy? Did you have a lot of friends?
(06:36):
Were you a popular guy? Did you have a lot
of friends?
Speaker 4 (06:41):
Uh? Not really, I mostly stayed too much.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
Still when you woke up that morning, I guess it
was just like any other day, wasn't it.
Speaker 3 (06:56):
Well I got up that morning, I went over there,
and I had to walk from from uh when my
mom lived to Mike's house. And yeah, it was just
like a regular day. I got over there, and and
Mike and not Mike, but uh, Alan Dallas and and
(07:23):
Travis's he's arguing like always over they're fighting over a girl.
I guess. But well, I was just a regular day
and here you were just because everybody on the crew
was was was it was new. That was the today
(07:48):
was the third day.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
I knew John Glett, I.
Speaker 3 (07:51):
Knew uh Uh, Dwayne Smith, Kenny Peterson, I knew Alan
Dallas before, and I knew Mike and you know, travels
blows with them. Three I didn't know until till Monday,
a couple of days ago.
Speaker 1 (08:13):
As you got ready for work, it's typical. I mean,
you got the you know, the tension building you know.
I know, living in a logging community that I live
in in central British Columbia, those men and women they
go to work and they get up at dark, doesn't
(08:34):
matter whether it's summertime or winter time. They're up at
dark and they're not home until dark because you got
to get the job done, because you don't get paid
until the job is complete. And and for you having
to to you know, do that at such a young age,
you know, working that hard out in the forest. I mean,
(08:55):
what was going through your mind at this time.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Work it out there?
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Yeah, I hated it.
Speaker 4 (09:05):
All it was like was cleaning the yards.
Speaker 3 (09:08):
I was like they was pick up bent branches and
stack them in a certain way so the forest.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
Department we weren't longers, we weren't longer.
Speaker 3 (09:17):
We just uh uh. They were chopping it trees down
five inches or smaller and to thin out the forest.
And I would me and Kenny Peters uh uh, Dwayne Smith,
we would we would stack them and we have to
stack it a certain way so that when the forest
(09:39):
apartment came they could burn it.
Speaker 1 (09:42):
Yes, I've seen that happen. I've seen that happen. And
it's got to be done a certain way because of
safety to the other trees and the fauna in the forest,
so you don't cause a forest fire or anything like that.
Speaker 3 (09:55):
Yeah, Mike used the bitch about that all the time.
It's got to be done a certain way.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
Very true, very true. Prior to this happening, what did
you at such a young age know about UFOs?
Speaker 4 (10:12):
Nothing there was.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
There was.
Speaker 4 (10:21):
When we first moved to snowflick.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
We lived outside of town and there was no electricity
out there, running water, and they were as ridge as
you could see over one side of us, and you
could see a light flying around up there, and I
guess that'd be the first time I actually, you know,
(10:45):
but at the time I didn't know what it was,
if it was a UFO, because I was never even
you know, they say in the movie that that we
were looking at a magazine. That that's not true. There
was no use magazine in there. We never talked about it.
I mean, they might have Mike and Travers, they talk
(11:10):
about some, you know, but but there was no magazine
in there.
Speaker 1 (11:18):
So you guys, had you had seen a previous UFO
prior to this incident? When was that?
Speaker 3 (11:25):
It was the summer before. It was a couple of
months the summer before we saw I saw the UFO
cravers getting zap. They had some mutilated cows too. Also,
Me and my brother came across one, and that was
kind of that was kind of strange.
Speaker 1 (11:47):
Oh wow, was there any other weird things that happened
in that mountain range that you couldn't explain or stories
that you had heard of?
Speaker 4 (11:58):
It was a two headed cap on just a cattle.
Speaker 3 (12:09):
When this happened, there was cattle immunation going on at
the same time.
Speaker 1 (12:15):
And were they free ranging the cattle up of the
mountains there as they do here in BC.
Speaker 3 (12:22):
Yeah, I think yeah they was.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Oh it was like open range. I guess you could
call it.
Speaker 3 (12:29):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (12:38):
That had to be. Like looking at that point in
your life, You're seventeen years old and you're probably before
this incident, sitting here thinking this is it. This is
what I was in a rush to grow up for,
is to go work my ass off out of the
mountains of the forest. I mean, you must have had
(12:59):
a lot of those thoughts back then as a teenager.
Speaker 4 (13:04):
To me, it was just just to go to work
and make some money. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
I mean I've been working since I was twelve years old, so,
you know, and it was either that or go to school.
And I didn't want to go to school, and my
mom was gonna sit around there or not do nothing.
Speaker 4 (13:23):
So I either had to go to school or go
to work.
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Different times where that was common sense, you know, but
I mean you had to put help put food on
the table, you had to help, you know, pay the bills,
to pay the rent, you know, put clothes on your back.
I mean, that's a lot of responsibility for a young man,
especially when I guess at that time, Please correct me
(13:50):
if I'm wrong, the Vietnam War had just kind of
wrapped up around that time, so I guess there was
no worry for you at that time about being drafted.
Speaker 4 (14:00):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (14:03):
Saigon jail the same year, didn't it it? Saigon fell
in seventy five. That's when Vietnam was over.
Speaker 1 (14:09):
Yeah, because you're lucky.
Speaker 3 (14:17):
They stopped the draft three or four years before I
was even old enough to to worry about it.
Speaker 1 (14:25):
Well, that's good, that's good. So take us through your day.
You get up on the mountain on November fifth, nineteen
seventy five, just like any ordinary day. You pack your lunch,
You get in the vehicle, probably half asleep on their
drive up. How far was the law? Where was were
(14:45):
you going up the mountain from town.
Speaker 3 (14:49):
From a snowflake?
Speaker 4 (14:52):
I don't know. It takes you about thirty forty five minutes.
Speaker 1 (14:56):
How did you?
Speaker 3 (14:57):
How was there a couple of weeks, a couple of
months ago, I go through there.
Speaker 4 (15:03):
That place short has looked different.
Speaker 1 (15:08):
A lot of a lot of advancement.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
I bet right, a lot more houses. There's a walmart
there in Taylor. Now it looks a lot different.
Speaker 1 (15:22):
What did town look like prior to that? For those
of us who've never been there.
Speaker 3 (15:26):
When I lived there, there wasn't even a red light
or nothing. Now there's red lights, and it was small.
It was really small.
Speaker 4 (15:39):
Now there's lights everywhere you go through there.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
And let's see what was the population back then when
you were there.
Speaker 4 (15:50):
I don't I don't know.
Speaker 3 (15:51):
I don't know the population it wasn't It sounds like
it wasn't very big back then.
Speaker 1 (15:59):
Well, today the population is around sixty seven hundred and
thirty six. So let's see what it was link in
nineteen seventy five. So in nineteen seventy five, it had
a population of approximately thirty five hundred people, which is
(16:20):
small enough where everybody kind of knows everybody. So when
you were walking around town, I'm sure people knew who
you were, because people knew who Mike and Travis were
at that time, you know, because that's kind of what
small communities do.
Speaker 3 (16:35):
You know one another, well, acthletely, they all knew each other,
not me.
Speaker 4 (16:44):
I wasn't very sociable. Yet I don't know.
Speaker 1 (16:53):
You go to work that day, you drive the thirty
to forty five minutes up the hill. You're in the
back seat, and unlike the movie where it says there's
only six people, there's actually seven crammed into that truck.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yeah. They was three in the front and four in
the back. It was Allen Dallas, then me, then John
and then Dwayne Smith was on the behind Mike. That
was four in the back, and then then it was
Mike Kenny Peterson, and Mike was driving Travis Walton. I
(17:30):
mean it was Travis on the shotgun side, named Kenny
in the middle and Mike.
Speaker 1 (17:40):
You worked until it was dusk. You know, you had
your brakes. I mean, I guess at this time of
the year, the good news is it's getting a little
bit colder out, so you know, it's easier to work
in the cold rather than in the heat of Arizona.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
It gets colder.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
I'll tell you what.
Speaker 3 (18:02):
That morning, Uh I got to go to the bathroom
and there, you you know, find wood, you know, find
somewhere and go and and uh I was bending over,
I got a wasp, felt something and and uh I
(18:22):
got surrounded by wasp. I'm running towards John and swiping
the wasp off. I can pull all my pants up
with one. If you look at some pictures with me
back there, you can see what is the wasp but
bit me. That was a bad day. I got bit
by wasp and seen travels to get zapped. Mm hm.
Speaker 1 (18:46):
Take us through Let's say about half an hour before
this incident happened. We got about five minutes to go here,
and you we're going to get into this big time
in the next half hour. But the five minutes or
the thirty minutes before or hour before this whole thing happened,
(19:07):
what was going through your day? You coming to the
end of the day. You know, you're the young guy
on the totem pole, so that means you're you're waiting
for the boss. You probably exhausted waiting for the boss
to say, okay, boys, let's call it the night.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
Well, I was the gopher, so I had to put
everything away, you know, and I was ready to go
home because we worked over that day, and you know,
we we put a long day and that day it
was getting dark on time we got ready to go
and we usually didn't work that, you know, it was
(19:44):
usually off the mountain before it got dark.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Why did you guys stay a little bit later that day?
Were you behind on your contract?
Speaker 3 (19:52):
Yeah, we had to do certain much at a time
before we get paid, and we get so much done
at the time where we didn't get paid or something
like that. I'm not sure how it worked, but anyway,
we were, we were behind, and and we weren't getting paid.
(20:13):
That's so I know.
Speaker 1 (20:16):
Yeah, I hate when that happens, where you got to
put in the O T in order to make sure
that paycheck arrives. Do you mind, And I don't ask
this to be rude, but do you mind telling me
at that point what was what was your salary? What
were you getting paid in an hour?
Speaker 3 (20:34):
I never got paid, so I don't know. Mike still
owes me money. I've never been paid for that job.
He did send me some pictures him autographing it. You
know here you can have his picture and what you say,
(20:55):
we're even send me pictures? Why would I want to
autograph picture of you? Yeah, he's old me money for
fifty years.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
How much were you supposed to get paid an hour?
Speaker 3 (21:20):
I don't know. It's been so long ago. I can't remember.
Speaker 1 (21:25):
Probably around that. I'm going to assume that three dollars
an hour range two three bucks an hour, maybe four bucks.
Speaker 4 (21:33):
To five bucks an hour or something like that.
Speaker 3 (21:35):
But we didn't get paid by the hour. We get
paid by whatever job. You know how much work we get.
Speaker 1 (21:43):
Done, right right, I mean, I remember, I know how
that works. That's that's for sure. So an hour before,
you guys are getting exhausted, you're getting a little upset
that you have to work all this overtime because you're
usually out of the bush by night. Wild animal wise,
(22:03):
were you were you guys obviously worried about bears or
mountain lions or wolves or anything like that.
Speaker 4 (22:12):
No, I don't, I don't.
Speaker 3 (22:16):
No, we were never worried about that because we the
chains tells, would run them all, you know, making all
that noise.
Speaker 1 (22:28):
They didn't try to steal your sandwich at lunch. No bigfoot,
No bigfoot trying to come up and say, hey, do
you mightd have a bite of your sandwich.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
And I can't believe it's fifty years. I just still
I can't get over it. It's fifty years. I haven't
seen Travis. Let's see I see. Last time I seen
travelers was Area fifty one. I think it was two
(23:06):
thousand and seventeen. We got to uh he was talking
about bull riding. We were on our way.
Speaker 4 (23:16):
Back and.
Speaker 3 (23:19):
We're heading back to Utah from Area fifty one and
he's talking about bull riding. And I told him. I
says I'd done that. I got on a couple of bulls.
He said, oh, no, you didn't. I said, yeah, before
fire in the sky and and you did yours after
(23:42):
fire and the sky.
Speaker 4 (23:44):
And he goes, oh.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
You didn't do that. He never ever believes anything I
ever said, right, never, And I told him. He says, yeah,
I give this guy five bucks and you sign a
piece of paper and you can write a ball. That's
not true. That's not true, but it's true. When when
my dad died, my mom's from Texas and her dad
(24:08):
came and got her and we went back to Texas
and and it was cowboy town and that's what the
teenagers did.
Speaker 1 (24:20):
You could write, you know, hold that thought. Steve Pierce
is our guest tonight on spaced Out Radio. He was
there when Travis Walton got hit by the beam from
a craft from who knows where, and he still can't
believe it's the fiftieth anniversary of that fateful night you're
(24:43):
on spaced out radio. All right, we're clear, PARAMRV.
Speaker 5 (25:05):
How you doing?
Speaker 1 (25:11):
What's the double duty? Jessica?
Speaker 6 (25:14):
What you doing there?

your teeth for that long? And yes, the story is
coming next Tartar Saucer, How you doing? Doesn't Steve just
(25:48):
seem like a nice guy?
Speaker 5 (25:51):
I like him?
Speaker 1 (26:05):
Gorgeous Kim Jellen. Are you going to spend more than
two hours hanging out with me at UFO Con next year?
Like maybe two and a half hours. If you ever
(26:30):
get a chance to meet gorgeous Kim Jellen. She is
one of the nicest people ever. She is so awesome
and pleasant. Sometime to go back to the beard, doctor
(27:03):
angled this up, fap. That's because you cheer for the Dodgers.
All right, let's bring Steve back in. My audience loves you,
my friend. Hold on, I do I have you on mute? Yeah?
I got you on mute. My audience loves you.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Well anyway, Oh, Travis he ain't believe me. Man, He's
never believed anything I've ever said to him, even when
I told him before Paranormal Witness. Do you ever seen
the sci fi general we were on Paranormal Witness. Yeah,
(27:51):
that came out in twenty twelve, And I told Travis
before that, I say, we didn't do all this. We
didn't draw raws, you know, because in the book it
says that we drew stralls. That's who. That's how we Uh,
who went first took the polgraph test?
Speaker 1 (28:09):
Right?
Speaker 3 (28:09):
Because we drove stra who went first? That's not true.
I told Travis, I says, I says, they came after me.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
You know, well, let's hold that thought until we get
back on the air, because I do want to bring
that up.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
Areaet No.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
We got about ninety seconds.
Speaker 3 (28:32):

a beam of light, didn't know if he was dead
or alive, and he's reliving it today. Steve, thank you
so much for being here. I know you've been replaying
this in your head. You've said a couple of times
fifty years man fifty years already goes fast, doesn't it.
Speaker 3 (31:51):
Yeah, I just can't believe in a fifty years where
to go.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Let's get to the incident. I'm just gonna let you talk.
Speaker 4 (32:06):
You want me to tell the story?
Speaker 3 (32:08):
Want?
Speaker 1 (32:08):
Yeah, let's you pack up for the night you go.
You're all in the truck. You're heading towards home. And
what happened.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Well, we see this objects go through the right and
we can't tell what it is, and uh, we get
closer and in the movie it says it looks like
a fire, but it was solid white. It didn't like
(32:41):
no fire. So we got closer. And then when we
got in front of it, Travis gets out and he don't.
He don't walk straight up to it. He walks into
an angle. He says, he goes straight up to it,
but he doesn't, and because if he went straight up
to it when he got zapp he would.
Speaker 4 (33:00):
Hit the truck.
Speaker 7 (33:01):
But anyway, uh, he he stopped and the thing is
her in and the air and it starts rocking back
and forth, and this blue screen light comes out and
aps him in the chest and he falls back, and
that's when Mike takes.
Speaker 4 (33:21):
Off and and some reason.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Mike had turned the motor off and he had it restarted,
and he takes off and we get down the road
a little bit and and uh we stop and get out.
And in the movie it shows that, you know, Mike
goes back by himself, but that's not true, that they
would have been a murder that night his But we
(33:50):
all get out and Mike he he uh, he falls
to the ground. He's all upset and he's losing it.
I'm not saying a word. I just can't believe what happened.
I thought the world was coming to an end. And uh, finally,
(34:13):
as John and and uh the Mormon Kenny Peterson, they decided, well,
we need to go back and look for Travis. So
we all got back in the truck and went back
(34:34):
looking for him. And we had one flashlight and we
looked around. We couldn't find him, and so we went
into town and we found his phone booth and Kenny Peterson.
(34:57):
In the movie, it shows that the Mike calls, Mike
didn't do nothing, but anyway, Kenny calls and they told
us to go farther into town.
Speaker 4 (35:07):
So we went to the gas station and we waited.
Speaker 3 (35:11):
For him, and a couple of cops showed up, and
then finally Gillaspie showed up and the head sheriff, and uh,
he was looking around for beer cans and stuff. And
so finally he said that that uh.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
That that Mike has to.
Speaker 3 (35:34):
Go back because he's the crew boss and he wants
two other people to go back. So Kenny Peterson and
Alan Dallas went back, and me and uh John Gallett
and and uh Dwayne went back to Snowflake.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
When that incident with Travis happened. How much did you
see of.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
It, Travis getting his app Yes, I saw the whole thing.
I'm the only one could see the whole thing because
they was plywood all the way around the truck, so
you couldn't see out the back window, and uh, and
(36:26):
it was to the right of us, and and.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
Then when.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
Allen was it was right here to my right. And
then when we saw it, he hits the floorboard. And
so when he gets shoots when he hits the floorboard,
I screwed over and I could see everything once reason,
Alan went back to look for Travis to We were
(36:54):
in jail together a few years later, me and Alan Dallas,
and he told me he went back to he didn't
go back just to look for Travis. He went back
to face his fears because of what he did was
the foreboard. And that was the last time I saw Alan.
(37:17):
Last time I saw John was at his wedding. He
passed away too. Everybody in the back seat or dead except.
Speaker 1 (37:25):
Me, I'll pass away throughout the years.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Yeah, I think they've all died of a heart attack too.
I think.
Speaker 1 (37:35):
When you saw the craft and it was kind of shuddering.
How far was Travis from the craft with that beam
of light came down and hit.
Speaker 3 (37:45):
Him about twenty feet give or take.
Speaker 4 (37:57):
It was weird's maybe for your feet away?
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Was everybody like in the movie yelling at him to
get back in the vehicle.
Speaker 4 (38:13):
Some of them were yelling.
Speaker 3 (38:14):
I I was, I was like in shock. I didn't
say anything. I think Mike was hollering. I think they
all was hollering to me. When when when it happened,
it seemed like everything started going into slow motion and
(38:34):
alls I could see was what.
Speaker 4 (38:39):
Was what was in front of me? And you know
what I mean, And.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
I don't know, Well, you're the youngest of the crew.
It's you know, you're you're just gonna try and take
it all in, you know.
Speaker 3 (38:52):
It's yeah, I don't think I would have freaked out
about it. Everybody else these guys, these guys are full
grown guys, and there never never freaking out worser than me.
Speaker 1 (39:05):
I can understand that as you're watching this was the
craft making any sound.
Speaker 4 (39:16):
It had a deepy noise to it.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Ah, and then it was like a humming noise. And
then when started the humming noise. Uh, that's when the
the ray come outains opting because at first, at first
it wasn't doing nothing with this discovering there, you know,
(39:42):
and and then then it started making a strange noise
and started rocking back and forth. And that's when the
blue screen light came out and got travelers.
Speaker 1 (39:59):
So it was a blue screenlight that kind of hit him.
Did it send him flying like we saw in the
movie or did did he just kind of fall and
stumble back?
Speaker 3 (40:10):
I would say his falling stumbled back, I mean three
years exaggerated and he went fifteen twenty feet in the
movie it shows all this.
Speaker 4 (40:20):
No, it just hit him and he went back.
Speaker 1 (40:25):
When he hit the ground. Was everybody yelling at Mike
to get out of there, because you guys probably thought
Travis was dead at that point.
Speaker 3 (40:36):
Hey, when we took off, Mike says, look back, it
was following us. Nobody would look back. Look back.
Speaker 1 (40:51):
What were you thinking? As Mike restarts the truck to
get the heck out of there.
Speaker 4 (40:58):
I thought the world was coming to an end.
Speaker 3 (41:01):
I thought it was I thought the world was coming
to an end. I thought they were taking us, taking over.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Were you fearful that they were going to follow you
down the mountain, because realistically, you're in the middle of nowhere.
Were you afraid that they were going to follow you
down the mountain and you might be next for whatever happened, That's.
Speaker 3 (41:29):
Why Mike was telling us to look back and see
if it was following us. But when we when we
stopped it, it didn't follow us. We even saw it
take off, So I'm pretty sure that it was a star.
Well we we we saw it take off.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
What did you see when it took off?
Speaker 3 (41:54):
A white slash hidding towards area fifty one? I think
guess where Travis was at. There were fifty one.
Speaker 1 (42:06):
Over the years you you have debated whether or not
this this was some sort of alien subject.
Speaker 3 (42:16):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think I had anything to
do with Grays.
Speaker 1 (42:22):
Well, we'll get into that a little bit later on.
When you came down the mountain and you guys separated,
where Mike and Allen went back up the mountain with
the police and you guys went back into Snowflake. What
did you do at that point?
Speaker 3 (42:39):
When I went back to Snowflake, Yeah, I told my
mom what was going on. I don't think she believed me.
As soon as I got home, I told my mom
what happened. And then.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
The next morning when they went about there.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
To look for the cops were at the door talking
to my mom and tell my mama, we think he's
dead and all this. You know, I'm going to go
out there and find a body. And so I was
listening to the conversation and I grabbed my cowboy boots
and I snuck out the back door. So I never
went out there with them.
Speaker 1 (43:24):
Were you afraid of the police at that point? Did
you think, even before that conversation that you know, the
word murder was going to be in your vocabulary.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
I thought Travilers was dead, and I thought they was
going to find a body. So that's the reason I
didn't go out there. How are you gonna how are
you gonna run from a hundred cops?
Speaker 1 (43:49):
So they sent out a big search party for him, Like.
Speaker 4 (43:51):
Yeah, that was one of the biggest search parties.
Speaker 3 (43:55):
And at that time looking for Travis, there was like
a hundred people out there looking for when they couldn't
find anything, anything, they couldn't try nothing. That's the reason
we had to take the polygraph test is because they
couldn't find anything.
Speaker 1 (44:15):
When you found out that they didn't find a body,
what went through your mind?
Speaker 4 (44:23):
I was kind of relieved, you know, but.
Speaker 3 (44:30):
People still thought were kuilding that, you know, for five days,
the whole town thought were kuilding.
Speaker 1 (44:40):
What did your mom say? Because I know you you thought,
you know, it was just you. I believe it was
just you and your mom.
Speaker 3 (44:46):
Correct, No, I had a bunch of little brothers.
Speaker 1 (44:49):
What well, what was going through your mom's mind at
this point? What was she saying?
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Well? How already calls that woman a lot of grief?
My mom doesn't believe anything I say.
Speaker 4 (45:05):
So she's like travelers.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
She don't believe anything I say, even if I can
prove it.
Speaker 4 (45:12):
Um hm.
Speaker 1 (45:16):
So she wasn't She wasn't pestering you saying where's the body? Steve,
What did you guys do up there? Steve? What was
your not?
Speaker 3 (45:26):
Really?
Speaker 5 (45:26):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (45:27):
She made sure that I was there to take the
polygraph test. My mom was the only one allowed inside
because there because I was I was a minor and
everybody else was over twenty one and and so my
mom made sure that I was there to take the
(45:49):
polygraph test.
Speaker 1 (45:55):
How nervous were you?
Speaker 4 (45:58):
I was scared. I wasn't saying anything.
Speaker 3 (46:02):
But the guy said that, you know, they picked me
first because they I wouldn't say anything because he thought
I would crack.
Speaker 8 (46:11):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (46:13):
I ain't the reason I wouldn't say anything. I was
taught that you're in trouble, you keep your mouth shut,
and that's what I was doing because we were in
some serious trouble.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 1 (46:25):
What was the attitude like, because in the movie it
shows that you guys drew sticks to see what would
go who would go first on the polygraph?
Speaker 4 (46:39):
In the movie? Yeah, is that is that how they
do it?
Speaker 1 (46:45):
I'm not well. You mentioned during the break about drawing sticks.
They said in the movie that it was it's in
the book or the book.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Yeah, the movie, you can't you know, they know I
can do But the book it's it's the book that
Travis Road was wrong. It says in the book that
we drew straws. We didn't draw straws. They came after
me because I was the youngest, and they thought I
would crack and if I cracked and told them what happened,
(47:16):
that they wouldn't have to go through everybody else.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
But it didn't work.
Speaker 1 (47:22):
For those of us who've never been on a polygraph?
What was that experience like of what kind of questions
were they asking you?
Speaker 4 (47:32):
Well, I was scared of that.
Speaker 3 (47:37):
I was more scared that day than than they I
saw Travis gets out.
Speaker 1 (47:43):
This is.
Speaker 4 (47:46):
They asked us.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
If we did body harm with Travis or I know
who did hurt Travers or But the fourth question is
did we actually see a Ufoh, we all passed it.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
That is just I'm trying to wrap my head around that.
I'm trying to play a movie in my head as
you're talking to see what was going on. And I
can't imagine that feeling.
Speaker 3 (48:23):
It's a weird feeling. What it was weird. Everybody thinks
you're a murderer, and then after after Travis came back,
everybody thought it was a joke.
Speaker 1 (48:40):
Well, We'll get into that part in the next hour
with Travis returning. When you walked around the community of Snowflake,
Arizona after this happened, what was it like? What did
you notice? How did people treat you?
Speaker 3 (49:00):
Treated us really bad? They wouldn't talk to her, say,
you know, they would give us weird looks, and they
would people would drive by the my mom's house singing
as the song Goes goes. Uh Travis Walton, Travis Walton ufo,
(49:24):
UFO would Travis Walton go He used to come by
the house singing that song.
Speaker 1 (49:32):
Mh You guys, uh uh went through a lot. I mean,
you guys were accused. You guys were be rated people talking.
I mean you couldn't even get a cup of coffee
or or a lunch in town without people giving you
the look that you did something wrong. Was there anybody
(49:55):
in town who believed what you guys had said? But
what happened?
Speaker 3 (50:06):
No, not that I know. I got people who still
don't believe it. No, I don't.
Speaker 4 (50:16):
I don't remember anybody believe in us.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
They were just ready to hunt you down with pitchforks.
Speaker 3 (50:23):
Yeah, yeah, they's howt we killed travelers. Mm hmm. Well,
you know, you really can't blame them, you know. That
was to be kind of an.
Speaker 1 (50:39):
Outside of the polygraph. How many times were you hauled
into the police station to chat with them over this? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (50:50):
Oh, the five days that he was missing, there was
a cop named Flake that was a city cop, and
he he hassled me a lot. He was telling me that,
you know, we don't need a body, you know, to
(51:12):
arrestue for murder. You know, and even if you didn't
do this, you know who did it, so that makes
you a confidence. You know, you're just as guilty as
the person who did it, you know. And he bothered
me for he messed with me for three or four
days trying to get me confess.
Speaker 1 (51:34):
Was this all in interrogations or was it at times
when say, you were walking down the street and he
would walk up to you.
Speaker 3 (51:44):
Yeah, one time I was walking down the street and
he he pulls by me and he turns back around
so his door was facing me, you know, and and
he roll down his window and he's telling me that,
you know, and you're model looking fast, you're fixed, and
take a polygraph test where we're going to find out anyway,
(52:06):
you know.
Speaker 1 (52:10):
What was the reaction as we got about two minutes
to go here before break from the police towards you guys,
when you guys all passed your polygraph tests that you
had seen a UFO gless.
Speaker 3 (52:25):
We couldn't believe it. He couldn't he didn't know what gless.
We didn't know.
Speaker 4 (52:30):
The thing after that.
Speaker 1 (52:34):
In the movie, they make Alan Dallas to seem like
a real badass, that he was the rotten apple of
the group. What was that like? What what was Alan
Dallis like? And and was he you know, a little
non committal on his polygraph where they said that his
(52:55):
answers were all over the map.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
Well I took it.
Speaker 3 (53:01):
Is that he didn't take it at all because, you know,
because he ripped it off because they were asking him
if he killed Travis and he wasn't going to take it.
So the first one he didn't take it at all.
Speaker 1 (53:20):
Well, there's some news we didn't know.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
I mean, they hadn't strapped up and everything. What I
understand is because after we took the pograph test, they
took us out back where the prisoners sit, you know,
and so every two hours another person would to come
back there. Because it took about two hours for each
(53:44):
person to take the botograph test, you know, and.
Speaker 4 (53:52):
It took all day.
Speaker 1 (53:58):
That had to be tough. I mean, did they did
they feed you while they were interrogating you? Did they
get you water? Did they ever ask you to get
a lawyer?
Speaker 4 (54:09):
I don't remember asking to get a lawyer.
Speaker 1 (54:14):
Uh?
Speaker 4 (54:14):
Oh they never. They never asked us to get a lawyer.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
Wow, how times were different.
Speaker 3 (54:25):
All I wanted my mom to be there, that's all.
My mom had to be there.
Speaker 1 (54:31):

each and every night. Right here on spaced Out Radio,
Stevin Pierce was with Travis Walton the night that he
was allegedly abducted by aliens. He watched the craft, he
watched the beam come down, he watched Travis go falling back,
and then they took off. At Travis disappeared, he remembers
(01:02:57):
being on the polygraph. He remembers you wondering where Travis went.
And that's where we're going to kick things off right now, Stephen,
thank you so much for sharing your story fifty years later.
My goodness, Well.
Speaker 4 (01:03:12):
Thank you for having me. I appreciate it.

I appreciate your trust in allowing us to do this
interview with you on this night. So thank you very
much for that.
Speaker 4 (01:03:24):
Thank You're welcome. Thank you.
Speaker 1 (01:03:28):
You're going around for four days, getting harassed by police,
ostracized by your community, people looking at you, giving you
dirty looks, talking behind your back. You could probably just
imagine what people were saying about you guys back then. They,
like I said in the previous half hour, they were
(01:03:48):
likely ready to string you up and hang you right there,
Judge Jury and excellence, right.
Speaker 3 (01:03:54):
Hey, they wanted to do they want to do? They
lau kill Travis.
Speaker 1 (01:04:03):
How did you find out that he had been found?
Speaker 3 (01:04:09):
Well, I was I've been hiding out all week and
that night the It was on the eleventh and we
were I was at a friend's house watching the news
because you know, we've been on the news all week,
(01:04:32):
and I wanted to know about the polygraph test, you know,
And that's the one of the night that.
Speaker 4 (01:04:39):
I heard that the Edmund Fitzgerald sunk. You know, it sunk.
Speaker 3 (01:04:43):
The it sunk the same day that we took the
ballograft test. And and it was seventeen years old too
when it sunk, And I was seventeen years old when when.
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
I took the polygraph test.
Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
Kind of strange, but anyway, Uh, we're sitting there waiting
and we're watching it, and then I went home later
on that night and that my mom told me that
Travis was in a hospital in Tucson. But actually he wasn't,
(01:05:16):
but that's what everybody thought. He was in a hospital
in Tucson. That was the eleventh.
Speaker 1 (01:05:26):
Venice. Would you found out that he had been found?
Were you relieved? Were you still just as scared?
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
I was relieved for my mom because my mom thought
we kills him. So other than that, yeah, I was. Yeah,
I was glad he was still alive.
Speaker 4 (01:05:54):
Because it would have been hard to explain if he wasn't.
Speaker 1 (01:06:03):
What was the reaction from the community when they found
out that he had been found in alive.
Speaker 3 (01:06:13):
They thought it was a joke. After that, everybody thought
it was just a big hopes everybody just do that.
Travis meant, we all made it up.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
How long was it before you had an opportunity to
talk to Travis after that happened.
Speaker 3 (01:06:34):
I've never actually talked to Travis. There was that, Uh.
I think we all got together to take the pictures
and stuff. You see that picture of all of us
standing together, right. I didn't talk to him. Travis has
(01:06:54):
never asked me what happened. Nobody's ever asked me what happened.
Speaker 4 (01:07:01):
I mean four or.
Speaker 3 (01:07:03):
Five books and and there's a book that, uh it
was out before Travis' book about Fire in the Sky,
and there's things in there that I'm supposed to say.
They didn't say. Mike told this guy what I said.
Mike has done a lot of things that he said
(01:07:26):
I have said and didn't say. Mike'stunting but a liar
or two faces and a fraud.
Speaker 1 (01:07:37):
You're not a fan.
Speaker 3 (01:07:39):
Mike Rogers, No, No, he's a liar. That book Travis,
Mike wrote the first five days of Travis's book and
Dana Rogers, she keaped. She she typed it up as
(01:08:02):
fast as she could.
Speaker 4 (01:08:05):
Gordon and Mike. No, I'm not a fan of Mike's.
Speaker 1 (01:08:14):
Do you still have a lot of resentment from what
happened that day towards what what do you mean towards
the incident? What happened towards what happened?
Speaker 4 (01:08:29):
No, no, what happened?
Speaker 3 (01:08:30):
Uh they left me out of the the picture, you know,
for a reason. But yeah, I always got the shorten
of the stick of this whole thing, and then I
(01:08:52):
get called the most names.
Speaker 1 (01:08:56):
Is that because of your age, they just treated you
like a like a kid, and that was it.
Speaker 3 (01:09:02):
No, it's just it. I I've never made no money
off of this. Nobody's ever asked me my side of
the story, you know, when they're when they're writing a
book or did the movie. You know. I didn't even
know they did a movie until I was in a
truck stop and in California, and the barstole and it
(01:09:28):
was late at night and I was getting fuel and
I went in and paid for my fuel and I
went to the restroom and on the way out, you
were in the truck stop they have TV rooms in there,
and I went through the TV rooms.
Speaker 4 (01:09:40):
Anybody was going to be driving, you know, all.
Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
Night, and there was Travis on HBO talking about the
movie Fire and the Sky and this was like ninety
two or ninety three or something like that. And then
I didn't see the movie until two thy ten, two
eleven when I broke my neck, so it was years
(01:10:04):
before I saw it. And then I saw the first
part of it and it made me mad, so I
stopped watching it.
Speaker 4 (01:10:11):
And it took me.
Speaker 3 (01:10:17):
Probably about thirty years to watch that movie, man all
the way through.
Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
Why did the movie bother you so much?
Speaker 3 (01:10:28):
Yeah, there's a bunch of bullshit. Oh sorry, it didn't happen.
I mean, I can see them exaggerating in.
Speaker 4 (01:10:41):
The movie because you know, they want.
Speaker 3 (01:10:43):
People to come and watch it, but the book it
should you know. Actually both of them are well, the
movie is not a bad movie. I think Maverick made
the movie. James Garner, Yes, yes, I did finally watch it. Jeah.
(01:11:12):
I don't watch UFO movies. I don't watch Star Track,
I don't watch now. I've seen the old Star Trek
to black and white ones, but I've never seen the
movies I've never seen Star Wars, and I don't watch
stuff like that.
Speaker 1 (01:11:27):
It's never been your cup of tea, the UFO stuff.
Speaker 3 (01:11:32):
Oh no, no, I can remember being being Stone and
watching h Laying on the Moon in sixty nine. Do
you remember letting them Learning on the Moon in sixty nine?
Speaker 1 (01:11:48):
I wasn't even born, I was I was too, my friend,
I was two years old when when your incident happened.
But you you didn't know about the movie. You knew
nothing after this incident. You kind of what happened after it,
(01:12:13):
Like obviously you didn't go back to work for Mike
after this. What happened to you?
Speaker 3 (01:12:22):
Well, I got married and we moved to a town
next to to uh Snowflake, It's called Taylor, and we
lived in a trailer on a dirt road and you
can see people coming from both directions.
Speaker 4 (01:12:44):
And you knew they were coming there.
Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
And one day a cop started coming down the road
and his name was Jim Klick. And the wife at
the time asked me, says, what did you do this time?
You know, here comes the cops. And he came up
the door. He told me that this guy named Philip
(01:13:07):
Glass said that if I say it was a hoax,
that he'd give me some money. And at the time
I just blewed off. I didn't know who Philip Class was.
I never even seen a pitcher of Philip Class until
two thousand and eleven. It was the first time I
actually because you know, they didn't have the Internet back then, and.
Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
So keep going, so ufo skeptic. Philip Class was trying
to bribe you in order to say it never happened.
Speaker 3 (01:13:48):
Well, bribe was It's not the right word, I don't think.
But he offered I think he offered that to anybody
that could prove that it was a hope. So even
when I moved to Texas that he would he would
call me, yeah on the phone, and uh, you know
(01:14:12):
one of.
Speaker 4 (01:14:14):
You proved it was a hoax.
Speaker 1 (01:14:20):
You you turned it down?
Speaker 4 (01:14:23):
Yeah, yeah, because.
Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Because you couldn't prove it didn't happen. I mean, you
couldn't prove it. You can't prove it did happen, and
you can't prove it didn't happen.
Speaker 4 (01:14:38):
So m mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (01:14:45):
You Onie Travis's guy is his witnesses.
Speaker 4 (01:14:49):
It wasn't worth witnesses.
Speaker 3 (01:14:51):
He wouldn't he wouldn't have it, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:14:55):
You lived a pretty tough life though after that. I
know you are are recovered. I know that you spend
some time in jail. I mean you lived a pretty
tough life after this happened.
Speaker 2 (01:15:09):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:15:10):
Yeah, I spent some time in jail. I stole my
uncle's truck. They they all thought we were I was
insane after this. That they still do. But they stole
mine first. But judge told me two wrongs don't make
it right. But they wanted me to go on probation
(01:15:31):
and pay my uncle restitution. And I told the judge
no way. And finally I seen the judge three times
and he finally because they keep following my probation. And
the judge finan says, I'm gonna give you an ultimatum.
You know, either you do the seven years probation, pay
your uncle resistitution, or I'm gonna give you a year
(01:15:53):
in prison.
Speaker 4 (01:15:54):
And I told him I take the year in prison.
Speaker 1 (01:16:00):
And that's where you were in prison with Alan Dallas.
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
We were in the county jail together. We were never
in actually in prison together.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
Okay, when you saw Alan in jail, did you ever
talk about the incident.
Speaker 3 (01:16:16):
Yeah, we stayed up all night. I talked about it.
That's the reason he he told me that night. That's
the reason he went back to face his fears because
of what he did with the floorboard. Because when it
first happened, he hit the floorboard. I mean, he tried
to dig his way through the floorboard. That's when I
(01:16:36):
scooted over and I had a perfect view, you know. Yeah.
We talked all night, and then the next day I
went to court and I came back and he was
gone and I never saw him after that.
Speaker 1 (01:16:55):
What was his opinion of what happened in those conversations
you had.
Speaker 3 (01:17:01):
He thinks that it was mind control. He didn't believe
it was aliens either. He kind of believed the same
way I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:17:12):
Why don't you believe it was aliens?
Speaker 4 (01:17:21):
Just don't don't believe.
Speaker 3 (01:17:24):
I believe that National Choir had started to aid in
that great alien invasion.
Speaker 1 (01:17:33):
Could it be that it's maybe a coping mechanism from
the PTSD that you have from that incident?
Speaker 4 (01:17:43):
You think I have that.
Speaker 1 (01:17:45):
As someone who has been taken and as someone who
has had close encounters with a couple of UFOs, I
think many of us who do have a close encounter
situation like that do have some sort of UFO PTSD
if if there is such a thing.
Speaker 3 (01:18:07):
Yeah, well it it changed your life.
Speaker 4 (01:18:16):
That's for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:18:19):
On the last interview we did with you, you stated,
and you've stated here tonight, that you know, looking at
the way the craft departed, you said it it was
likely heading for Area fifty one. How did you come
to that conclusion?
Speaker 3 (01:18:35):
Well, back then I never heard of area of fifty one.
But through the years be looking at it and I
know where AVERA fifty one. Yet now I just believe
it went towards Area fifty.
Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
One, and there's about three hundred and thirty miles I
believe in between Snowflake and Area fifty one, and it
darted off in that direction.
Speaker 3 (01:19:02):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's probably about three hundred miles. But
in a plane, it meaning in a craft that'd be
there in no time.
Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
Very true, Very true. You look back on this incident
now fifty years later, how do you feel about it?
Speaker 3 (01:19:33):
It's been a pain in my ass. Sometimes I wish
I would have quit with my uncle and cousin. People
don't believe you. They treat you different. They you don't
(01:19:54):
know when to bring it up and when not to
bring it up because you don't know how the people
going to react when you tell them, because a lot
of people still don't believe, you know, and uh, it
just you never know how somebody's going to react when
you tell me the story. Like I had a girlfriend
(01:20:18):
ones that wanted her to talk to Travis. Well she
wasn't actually a girlfriend. I was a scene her for
a couple couple of times. But anyway, she said she
wanted to talk to Travis, and we've been drinking and
partying and stuff, and so I said, okay, that's when
me and Travis was talking, and I called Travis, Hey,
you know, she wants to talk to you. So she
(01:20:38):
gets on the phone with Travis and she goes off
on him. She just cusses him out, calls him a liar,
tell him. So, you know, you never know how somebody's
going to react. We were doing a conference in New
Mexico and uh, some woman she was drunk, and she
got up and just went off the deep end calist liars,
(01:21:01):
and foundly they had to escort her out the door.
Speaker 1 (01:21:07):
Why do you think people would do that if they
were not there?
Speaker 3 (01:21:13):
I don't know, man, Some people just totally freak out over.
Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
Over the years. How much have you tried to put
this story behind you and not admitting that you're a
part of it and a part of this unique history.
Speaker 3 (01:21:35):
Well, I did it for a long time. When I
went start driving troub I left it behind.
Speaker 4 (01:21:44):
And when I.
Speaker 3 (01:21:45):
Broke my neck, I was home and my daughter wondered.
I got the movie and I told my daughter that
was me, and that's how it all started. I got
a hold of Travis, and Travis told her that, yeah,
that's him. That's how it started. It wasn't from my daughter,
I probably would have never came out of the.
Speaker 1 (01:22:05):
Closet, coming out of the closet to admit that you
were a part of that after being silent for so long? Okay,
is was that something for you that you just wanted
to put behind you, much like a bad divorce or
(01:22:28):
you know, a piece of history that you didn't want,
or do you think that you were trying to put
it behind you because maybe it still scared you to
this day.
Speaker 3 (01:22:42):
I don't know it.
Speaker 4 (01:22:44):
Is it's still scary, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:22:54):
I don't know about that one.
Speaker 1 (01:22:55):
But how about when you were trucking all those years,
driving alone at night on some very dark, desolate highways,
cool wind in your hair? You know the quote Hotel California.
Did you ever catch yourself looking up at the sky
(01:23:16):
wondering if maybe it would come back?
Speaker 4 (01:23:22):
All the time.
Speaker 2 (01:23:27):
I was.
Speaker 3 (01:23:31):
It was back then it was called the Highway six
sixty six. They changed it to four ninety one because
it was the mark of the beast, I guess. But anyway,
I was on Highway six sixty six and between almost
in the ship Rock, New Mexico, and there was a
bright object following me, and then it got on top
(01:23:56):
of me. And then I pulled over to a gas
station and it was callsed out in the middle of nowhere,
on the reservation somewhere, and I got out of the
truck and I was up on the steps and looking
(01:24:17):
at it. And the next thing I remembered it was
the next morning. They were beating on my door telling
me I had to move my truck because it was
fixing open the store.
Speaker 1 (01:24:26):

here we go. Steve Pierce from Fire in the Sky
he was there. Did not see the movie until twenty ten.
It had been out sixteen years at that point, but
finally decided to check it on out. You hated the movie, Steve.
Speaker 3 (01:31:49):
Because it was all wrong? You know, No, I've worked
I didn't like it k four or five years after
that before I could watch it all the way through.
Speaker 1 (01:32:09):
What didn't you like about it? What? What would really
upset you about it?
Speaker 3 (01:32:17):
The way it started off, and Mike being the hero
and you know, going back looking for himself, looking by
you know, looking for Travis by himself.
Speaker 4 (01:32:32):
Yeah, Mike was the biggest coward out of all of us.
Speaker 3 (01:32:40):
Yeah, m hm.
Speaker 4 (01:32:44):
Hm.
Speaker 1 (01:32:46):
You have no love for Mike Rogers.
Speaker 3 (01:32:50):
I have no love at all for Mike Roger.
Speaker 8 (01:32:54):
Mhm.
Speaker 1 (01:32:56):
After this, let's go to some audience questions. Start off
with Shelley, here did you have to go to therapy.
And were you diagnosed with PTSD or anything else because
of this incident?
Speaker 3 (01:33:13):
No, no, no, I never went to therapy, and.
Speaker 1 (01:33:21):
No, just suck it up and keep on trucking.
Speaker 3 (01:33:26):
You think you think I got BS PTSTD.
Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
I not qualified to to answer that. I'm a man
who just asked the questions. I don't mean to dodge
that question.
Speaker 3 (01:33:40):
I've been told already.
Speaker 1 (01:33:43):
Do you think you do?
Speaker 3 (01:33:46):
I don't know what it is, so it's just something
I've lived with in my whole life.
Speaker 1 (01:33:53):
Let's quickly get back to write before the break where
you pulled over your truck because you saw something and
you woke up in the morning to a knock on
your truck door.
Speaker 3 (01:34:08):
Yeah, I was asleep and they were beating on my
door telling me I had to move because they were
going to open the door open. I don't remember from
the time I got out. You know, when I got
out of the truck, because you know you've ever seen
a semi they got those steps on the right well.
(01:34:30):
I was standing on on the stairs on top of
the steel tank and and looking up and next thing
I remember it was, it was they were beating on
the door.
Speaker 1 (01:34:45):
How long did you have that sighting? For?
Speaker 3 (01:34:51):
It was behind me for a little while then it
got be on top of me. I don't know how
good five minutes?
Speaker 1 (01:34:58):
So what made you pull off the road to look
at it?
Speaker 4 (01:35:05):
I was just wondering, it's happening again?
Speaker 3 (01:35:12):
Uh god, I I I was curious.
Speaker 4 (01:35:17):
I had to I had to know I had these.
Speaker 2 (01:35:21):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:35:22):
I stopped and get fuel one time and there was
these two girls that I didn't see it at the
gas stage at the at the fuel stop right and
one I didn't know, and the other one I did,
but she recognized me and she was leaving. They were
leaving Las Vegas and heading to Probo, where we both lived.
Speaker 4 (01:35:44):
And so.
Speaker 3 (01:35:47):
The lady she was with was in a black car.
And uh so they decided to follow me through through
leaving Las Vegas into Arizona to to Saint George. And
when I got through Saint George, past the scale, uh h,
(01:36:07):
I pulled over at the rest area and it's not
there no more.
Speaker 4 (01:36:12):
But anyway, I got.
Speaker 3 (01:36:16):
Out and they were back here just laughing.
Speaker 4 (01:36:21):
I thought it was funny. You thought we were men.
Speaker 3 (01:36:22):
In black.
Speaker 1 (01:36:27):
M M.
Speaker 3 (01:36:32):
But I have been. I was in a graveyard a
while back and and uh, this.
Speaker 4 (01:36:39):
Car pulls up. It's all black.
Speaker 3 (01:36:41):
And I laughed to myself, you know, it's men in black, right,
And I'm sitting there and smoking a joint. And I
get through and I started to walk out and out
of the graveyard, and and uh, they pulled alongside me
and and I I walked to the right through the
(01:37:02):
path and they had to go out to the street.
They went out to the street and made the right
and they went down a little bit to the next
parking lot, and they waited for me to get down there,
and one got out of the car and started taking
my picture and then jump back in the car and
took off. That's happened to me a couple of times.
Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
Why do you think people would still be following you?
Speaker 4 (01:37:25):
I don't know, because I go to some strange places.
Speaker 1 (01:37:35):
Are you big into the paranormal world?
Speaker 4 (01:37:38):
Very much?
Speaker 3 (01:37:39):
So? I believe this has the aliens and the paranormals
got is it's together somehow, some way, you know, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
I would agree with you on that.
Speaker 3 (01:37:59):
I just can't explain it, but to me that yeah,
some you know, they're they've blong together somehow.
Speaker 1 (01:38:07):
Well, you can come meet us in Las Vegas in
May when we do our annual spaced out radio party there.
Speaker 4 (01:38:17):
In Las Vegas.
Speaker 1 (01:38:18):
Yeah, I'll let you know. Everyone's fighted.
Speaker 3 (01:38:26):
Uh see how far is Las Vegas from here? I'm
in La so it's only what five hours?
Speaker 1 (01:38:34):
Four hours? Yeah, let's go to Paul here, Steve, did
you have to leave that area move somewhere else after
it all went down? Small towns can get weird.
Speaker 3 (01:38:48):
I could. I couldn't find a job after that. You know,
around there, nobody would hire me, you know. So yeah,
finally we had a lea. But it didn't matter wherever
I went, they they found me. They people chased me
(01:39:11):
for years after that.
Speaker 1 (01:39:14):
When you say people are chasing you after years, it's
because they want to hear the story, or that they
want to bug you about it.
Speaker 3 (01:39:23):
They want to bug me about it. They want to
know if it was a hoax. You know, I've had
people come and be my buddies, you know, uh, and
then just turn around to stab me in the back.
Is they just want to know if it was a
hoax or not, you know what I mean? So people
in uphology are cutthroats, and most of them are only
(01:39:46):
out for themselves.
Speaker 1 (01:39:52):
So it's been an uncomfortable lifestyle.
Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
What people you followed you.
Speaker 1 (01:39:59):
No, just general people trying to take advantage of you
because of this.
Speaker 3 (01:40:05):
Well they take advantage of me, but mm they want
to make all the money. They want to make that
you know, you go, you go do something, and they
want to take all the credit. You know, I'm used
to that. Jennifer Stein, she did a thing about Travis,
(01:40:33):
and she told me that it was only going to
be used one time, and come to find out she
made money off of it. And she told me that
she was going to but I don't remember her saying that.
But anyway, don't matter. It's just that these other people
they want your story, but they're the ones who want
to make the money from it, you know what I mean?
Speaker 1 (01:40:57):
And here you are just wanting to live your life.
Speaker 3 (01:41:01):
Well, I have made no money off of it. I
probably probably made a couple a couple thousand dollars since
twenty eleven so out this.
Speaker 1 (01:41:18):
But a lot of people hearing that would say, is
that what it's about, Steve is the money? Or is
it about the story? And and and can.
Speaker 4 (01:41:28):
To me, it was about the story at first.
Speaker 3 (01:41:31):
But but you know, I would mind getting a little
bit of it.
Speaker 1 (01:41:39):
I don't mind you there. PARAMRV is asking much has
been made about the growth of the trees of the
area based on the tree rings. Do you believe that
this encounter had any good or bad health effects on
the crew or the forest around it?
Speaker 4 (01:41:58):
You owe my opinion on the tree girl.
Speaker 3 (01:42:00):
Yeah, when you have a garden and you take all
the weeds out, garden grows better.
Speaker 4 (01:42:14):
Right, That's exactly what we were doing.
Speaker 3 (01:42:18):
We were thinning the forest out so everything else had
more room to grow. Okay, Right, the rings that are
facing one direction, well, when that sun comes up, the
sun only hits this side of the mountain between like three,
(01:42:41):
like two to three to five in the afternoon, right
in there, right, Well, them rings are going towards the sun. Oh,
they grew so fast because it was like, you know,
a garden, you you know. So No, I don't think.
And far as the radiation, I don't. I think travit
(01:43:03):
Mike made all that up too. He says that two
guys came up to him and he showed him a heart,
the heart hats and you know, and then found radiation
on it and the guys disappeared. Well, why didn't you
go to Gillespie because Gillespie had all the same equipment there,
(01:43:24):
you know, you know what I mean. I mean Gilespie
was ahead of the the head of the posse, and
he didn't go there, and and a few other things.
Speaker 4 (01:43:38):
I don't believe there was no no radiation.
Speaker 1 (01:43:44):
You have been back to that area. What's it like
being there now fifty years later?
Speaker 4 (01:43:53):
It was kind of freaky.
Speaker 3 (01:43:54):
I was there about two months ago or something like that,
and it was kind of freaky.
Speaker 4 (01:43:59):
We hurts some weird noises.
Speaker 3 (01:44:01):
When we were up there was late at night and
uh we heard some howerd noises and stuff, and my
girlfriend wanted to get out of there, so we left.
Mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (01:44:16):
Being up in that area for that time. Just your
thoughts on on did you get a lot of flashbacks
as to what went on?
Speaker 3 (01:44:28):
Yeah, I've been having flashbacks all day.
Speaker 1 (01:44:33):
Tell me about those.
Speaker 4 (01:44:36):
It's just it's just.
Speaker 3 (01:44:40):
It feels like, you know, you you're.
Speaker 4 (01:44:42):
Living it all over again.
Speaker 3 (01:44:46):
I really thought Travis was dead, and that's what scared
me the most.
Speaker 4 (01:44:53):
Did I thought Travis.
Speaker 3 (01:44:54):
Was dead.
Speaker 1 (01:44:58):
When you you know, kind of looked back on it
today outside of the Travis aspect and him potentially being dead,
what else was going through your mind? I mean, we
all look back and think, Man, I used to be
that young, I used to be that handsomer, I used
to be in shape, you know, because when you get
(01:45:21):
to our age, you do things either by age or
by pounds, and I do things by pounds, right. But
you know, looking back on everything, did you just kind
of take the time to you know, reminisce of all
the crew? I mean, because like you said, you're out
of the people who were in the back seat of
that truck when that incident happened, you're the only one
(01:45:42):
who's still alive.
Speaker 3 (01:45:45):
Yeah, I feel bad about but you know, I really
didn't know these guys. So I knew on from only
in twenty twelve when we made the The Paranormal Witness.
(01:46:12):
When we went on our TV show, we never met nobody.
They filmed me in Hollywood and well the woman that
that was behind it from England and John got a
(01:46:34):
hold of her and telling her that he wanted to
get a hold of me. So she sent me a
tax saying that John wanted to get a hold of me,
and that's how me and John hooked up. So me
and John didn't see each other from nineteen seventies six
to two thousand and.
Speaker 4 (01:46:56):
Fourteen fifteen, something like that.
Speaker 1 (01:47:02):
Let's go to another audience question here. Let's go to Jessica.
I wonder if the people that freak out have PTSD
for being abducted. These are the people who are complaining,
yelling at you being a liar, of fake, a cheat.
You know, it didn't happen because they blow a gasket
because hearing you maybe makes it real for them. Have
(01:47:23):
you ever thought about that?
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
I haven't thought about it that way before. Yes. Hey,
I've been called a lot of names, and I've been
threatened my email. I had an email that was only
(01:47:49):
with people in uphology that was on it, you know,
and Steve dot Pearson hotmail dot com and h last
time I went on your show, my laptop was was
hit and and well that email doesn't exist anymore. It
(01:48:12):
doesn't work. Something happened to everything on that was gone.
Speaker 1 (01:48:17):
So oh goodness, all right, let's get to another question.
Let's go to Jewels here. Were you there when Travis returned?
Do you recall how he looked beard, growth, et cetera.
Or did you stay right away from that?
Speaker 3 (01:48:37):
I didn't see Travis until about a week later or so.
The first couple of nights he was they said he
was in Tucson, but actually he was at his brother's
house in Phoenix. It was a while before I saw Travis.
Speaker 1 (01:49:00):
How did he look when he saw him a week later?
Speaker 3 (01:49:05):
M m he looked a little different, kay, as ever,
he looked a little different. It looks shocked up.
Speaker 1 (01:49:18):
Did he look disheveled?
Speaker 3 (01:49:20):
Yeah, a little bit.
Speaker 4 (01:49:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:49:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:49:25):
Did you get a chance to ask him when he
saw him a week later what happened? Did he answer you?
Speaker 3 (01:49:33):
He never really told me what happened. I heard it
through other people. You know, we all did meet him
one time, but it was more to take pictures than anything.
Speaker 1 (01:49:51):
Right. Do you feel a little let down because of that?
You didn't hear it from the horse's mouth?
Speaker 4 (01:49:58):
Well, it kind of makes me mad.
Speaker 3 (01:50:00):
You know, you go fifty years and and they tell
stories about you that isn't true, And people say, well,
why do you get so upset over this? Well, if
you went fifty years about someone wrote something in a
book about you it ain't true, of you wouldn't like
it either.
Speaker 1 (01:50:19):
Go to Tony, got about four minutes left, my friend, see,
could you please describe the craft once again, and you know,
tell us what it looked like.
Speaker 3 (01:50:32):
It it was like two cake pans on top of
each other. And but it was solid white and you
could see like frames coming down like window frames. Would
you say window frames. Maybe it was a window where
you couldn't see what was inside, but you need to
(01:50:54):
see the metal pieces coming down. And and it was
it was white. It was an awesome color. About the
size of the bluest green light the Zach Travis that
lit up the whole sky, like the whole sky just.
Speaker 4 (01:51:13):
Lit up.
Speaker 1 (01:51:17):
That craft that you saw. About the size of a vehicle,
a truck, a bus.
Speaker 3 (01:51:23):
I'd say it's the size of a vehicle. Yeah, well
maybe a little bit, maybe a little bit longer thirty
forty feet. It wasn't a mothership.
Speaker 1 (01:51:37):
Of you know, right. Tarder wants to know. Was there
any temperature changes when this happened.
Speaker 3 (01:51:47):
I could fill the flash of the heat when it
came by in Zach Travis. When when a beam came out,
you can you can feel the heat from.
Speaker 1 (01:52:01):
The Wow, what did that feel like?
Speaker 4 (01:52:11):
It feel kind of weird.
Speaker 3 (01:52:13):
I'm not sure, So I don't know if I'm telling
the truth here. Or not, so I might be wrong.
But Kenny, they said Kenny might have something wrong with
him because I guess he was partly out the door
during the flash, you know, But there ain't nothing wrong
(01:52:36):
with me.
Speaker 1 (01:52:40):
Derek wants to know. Did Travis ever tell you if
the government did testing on him against his will after
the abduction?
Speaker 3 (01:52:50):
Travis ain't never told me anything about anything. We don't talk.
I we don't. We don't get along at all.
Speaker 1 (01:53:03):
One minute to go, Steve. I know that you're not
going to be doing many interviews after this, you know,
because that's kind of what you had told me. So
I'm going to take your word for that. What do
you want people to know looking back fifty years later?
Speaker 3 (01:53:20):
Don't believe everything you read, Yeah, and don't believe everything
you read. But I think the government is got more
than you're telling, you know. And I believe that Roswell
(01:53:45):
has something to do with Operation paper Clip, And I'm
this is what I believe.
Speaker 1 (01:53:58):
And on that note, we have to get ready to
say good night to you, my friend.
Speaker 3 (01:54:03):
Hey, thank you for having me. I was going to
make some jokes, but I decided not to make any jokes.
Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
Well, you know what you could have talked to anybody
on this planet about this subject today. And the fact
that you reached out and said, hey, Dave, I want
to come on spaced Out Radio on the fiftieth anniversary.
That shows me what kind of person you are and
you're an honorable man, and thank you for that.
Speaker 4 (01:54:30):
Thank you for having me. I really enjoyed it.

In tonight, I'm going to take you on a mystic
journey of the unn sharing tales of monsters, legends and nightmares.
Speaker 1 (02:02:47):
Welcome to the spaced Out Radio Swamp.
Speaker 11 (02:02:51):
When I was eighteen, I was interrailing through Europe with
my then boyfriend and we were on a train between
Rome and a port town in Italy. We would be
getting to a boat to Greece the following day.
Speaker 1 (02:03:05):
We hadn't pre.
Speaker 11 (02:03:05):
Booked any accommodation, as we found it really easy to
get a hostile either en roue or at arrival. Most
of our previous destinations were just like this. And as
we'd been arriving in the town at nearly midnight, we
decided to have a look for hostels whilst on the train. Unfortunately,
we found that there really wasn't much of accommodation where
(02:03:26):
we were heading, as there have been in other more
major cities that we had visited, and that the places
we could find were mainly hotels and out of the
way of way out of our price range. We were
discussing this quandary amongst ourselves, my ex suggesting we slept
at the station, when the guy sitting next to me
(02:03:47):
on the train randomly struck up a conversation who was
really enthusiastic and chatty and spoke pretty good English, asking
about our trip so far, where we were from, and
just sort of general chit chat about ourselves. He also
said that he had overheard our accommodation problem and that
he knew a perfect hostel for us, very close to
the station and run by a friend of his. Initially,
(02:04:09):
this just came across as a useful bit of information,
but alarm bell started ringing for me as he became
very insistent that we must stay there and that if
we mentioned his name that we had since him you
could basically stay there for free. He wrote down an
address and his name on the piece of paper and
(02:04:30):
virtually had me promise that we will go there. After
I give him my word to stay there, he stopped
talking to me entirely, which I found quite odd. He'd
been so warm and talkative and then just totally shut off.
He also made three phone calls, now of which I
could understand other than he said the word InterRail a
few times. The rest of the journey passed in slightly
(02:04:54):
uncomfortable silence, and when I got up to get off
the train, he just said, remember the address.
Speaker 1 (02:05:00):
Yes, we arrived in the town.
Speaker 11 (02:05:03):
It was late and pretty deserted, nothing like the big
touristy cities we had been used to, and I made
up my mind then that we were definitely not staying
in this quote unquote hostile. My boyfriend was slightly annoyed,
as I admittedly am very paranoid person, but something just
felt really off. We ended up checking me into an
(02:05:25):
annoyingly expensive hotel literally a stone's throw from the station,
as I was so creeped out I didn't want to
go wandering off through the empty streets at night, whiles
at the hotel. I decided to look up the address
he gave us, and first things to say is that
if you googled it, there was no mention of it
being a hostel or a guesthouse or anything.
Speaker 1 (02:05:45):
It just came up as a street address.
Speaker 11 (02:05:47):
And secondly, if you put it into Google Maps, it
wasn't anywhere near the station. It just looked like a
normal building in a residential area way out of the
city center. I know that all this may have perfectly
been in instantly explained, but I think this guy may
have ran a hostile from his home and the train
guy was just overly eagle to promote business for this,
but it could have been a lot more sinister, a
(02:06:12):
lot more dangerous.
Speaker 1 (02:06:14):
Thank you swamp Dweller for another creepy story. If you
want more just like that, head on over to his
YouTube channel swamp Dweller hit subscribe, ring that bell. Thousands
of stories right there for you to choose from. Keep
you up at night. All right, let's get back to
the show. Katie Page is here with the Encounters. Kenny
(02:07:04):
Page from Rocky Mountain Ranch Research joins us each and
every week for a little diddy we call the Encounters
and you know, we just had Steve Pearson from Fire
in the Sky the Travis Walton incident, and he was
only seventeen years old when that incident happened. And you know,
this is still a story that is mired in legend
(02:07:28):
lore controversy. What's your thoughts of the whole Travis Walton incident.
Speaker 10 (02:07:34):
Well, you know, the seventies, that's kind of my jam
because of the ranch so in Travis and I I
know him pretty well and have talked to him quite
a bit about this, and I have to say, the
things that we uncovered on his return, which was November eleventh,
nineteen seventy five, two interceptors that were scrambled after a
(02:07:56):
UFO in Elbert County, Colorado, Buckley, and then we had
the two interceptors out of Falconbridge. Well, they had the Falconbridge,
Ontario sightings that same morning that Travis was returned, and
then they scrambled jets and admitted scrambling jets the Air
Force after unknown UAPs that morning at a Selfridge, Michigan
(02:08:18):
over the Great Lakes. And then the Edmund Fitzgerald goes down,
you know, that same day, So you know the day
of his return, there was so many things, jets scrambled
across the country, mysterious things happening, and so I did
a deep dive on that, and I was telling Travis
that Richard Haynes's collection, which he really focuses on pilots
(02:08:39):
and stuff, that whole month in that especially today to
the eleventh, there was all sorts of things reported by
pilots during that time. So I always considered Travis to
be haunted by this. I mean, I know that it's
affected his whole entire life, and I just couldn't imagine,
you know, be in his shoes like that. I think
(02:09:03):
it's been hard for him at times.
Speaker 1 (02:09:06):
Talking to Steve. He has such a different perspective on
what happened. And one of the things that he spoke
of very much was that being only seventeen years old
and the youngest person on the crew, it was kind
of like they didn't want him to talk, they didn't
want him to be a part of it. And he
(02:09:29):
felt extremely ignored over the years and decades about this event.
You know that nobody asked his opinion, and then he's
seeing books being published on it where he's allegedly quoted,
never gave interviews, for it. You know, he didn't see
the movie until twenty ten. Oh wow, you know, and
(02:09:51):
that was sixteen years after the movie came out. I mean,
he's tried to forget about it. He battled alcohol, he
battled drugs over you know, it was a very tough
time for him, you know, So to get a different
perspective on the event, it's very hard to try and
(02:10:13):
figure out truly what happened, because he to this day
is still not sure and he was reliving every moment
of it today.
Speaker 3 (02:10:21):
Wow.
Speaker 10 (02:10:22):
Yeah, when you have something like that impact your life,
it's with you forever, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (02:10:29):
Oh for sure. What have you got for us tonight,
my friend?
Speaker 10 (02:10:33):
Well, as you all know, I've been going through the
states alphabetically, and drum roll, we are on Colorado. Colorado
is a state I know a little bit about. That's
my home. So I'm thinking, boy, we could talk all
day on Colorado. But so many interesting things and what
I'm looking for are the more unknown, obscure cases. So
(02:10:56):
I have been using the UFO decks that Ryan Would
has put together, and I encourage people to check it
out ufodx dot com. You can go in there and
ask any questions you want, and his very unique data
set will pull up answers for you. So I've been
looking for those obscure cases, but just really quick, before
(02:11:16):
I get to those from the UFO dex, I would
like to you know. I used to be the Colorado
MOOFON State director for several years and was a part
of Colorado MOOFON for quite some time. I'm not anymore.
I'm kind of moved on to other things. But I
got to see a lot of cases that came in
and one of my favorite cases, and something I like
to tell people all the time is there are really
(02:11:39):
good UFO cases that come in that are daytime sightings.
And I have one of those that was out of
the state of Colorado. In Douglas County, Colorado. A woman
was getting up not into this topic at all. She
was on her way to work out there and so
this is kind of near the ranch of my childhood
and she sees something unusual just above the tree tops
(02:12:00):
and she's watching this thing and watching this thing, and
she said it's kind of shifting and morphine shape. So
she pulls the car over. I tell people, if you
see something, pull the car over. And she's like, what
am I looking at am I looking at a bird.
What the heck is this? And as she's trying to
figure out what she's looking at, two fighter jets come
right in at it, and she said they were so low,
(02:12:22):
lower than she's ever seen. I mean, they're things scrambled
out of Buckley all the time, which is now a
space force. But she said she's never seen jets fly
that low, coming right at this thing. And as she's
watching this and freaking out and it's all loud, the
thing just vanishes in front of her eyes. And of
course one of the jets goes east, one of them
goes west, and that was it. But that was a
(02:12:43):
really cool sighting. So that's number one. And then of
course there's you know, the incident at Rocky Mountain Ranch,
and you mentioned Travis Walton nineteen seventy five, and for me,
in the height of what was going on when I
was a young girl was seventy five to seventy eight,
So I have a soft spot in my heart for
all all that, and talking with Travis about you know,
(02:13:05):
you know, does he feel like a connection has stayed
with him through these encounters and different science and synchronicities.
It certainly has, and I find that side of the
phenomenon just as interesting as the UFOs and the ets
that may be behind them. So a lot of things
happening at the time. Linda Moulton Howe got her start
out there investigating all the animal mutilations. So when I
(02:13:28):
asked the UFO Dex for more obscure cases in Colorado,
of course a lot of cases came in in southern Colorado,
which is near the San Luis Valley. So we had
the nineteen sixty seven Snippy the Horse case that we
just recently reopened and did the updated book Gone, But
this case comes out in nineteen sixty seven as well.
It was in southern Colorado. They don't give the exact area,
(02:13:52):
but I'm assuming it's pretty near the San Luis Valley.
And they call this a Harry Dwarf encounter. And this
is very reminiscent of what was going on in nineteen
fifty four out in Venezuela, and people were reporting seeing
these small, hairy bipedal creatures associated with UFOs and orbs.
(02:14:12):
They were about three feet tall, covered in hair, and
this is interesting. They were exhibiting behavior that were both
animalistic in nature and also very intelligent. So that's kind
of interesting right there. And then in the nineteen nineties
out in the San Luis Valley they were reports of
(02:14:32):
what they call pod people, strange, partially translucent, and I'm
kind of thinking like Terminator, you know in the movies
where they're up in the trees and they're kind of
that translucent. This is how these people are described, or
entities two foot long creatures, which is an interesting way
to describe a creature. Two foot long creature that darted
(02:14:54):
around yards and even appeared inside homes, only to vanish
into thin air. These entities left no tracks, and their
movements defined explanation. In one case out there in the valley,
a dog dug up a bone from the spot where
a creature disappeared, suggesting a possible connection to the animal mutilations.
(02:15:16):
And of course it wasn't just Snippy the horse. There
were other horses in the valley that were mutilated, many cows.
The ranch right next to Snippy the Horse was called
the Dead Cow Ranch. They had so many different cattle
mutilations out there, but also sheep. There were reports of
dog and things like that, So of course this was
(02:15:36):
this particular case of these pod people was in the nineties,
but so much in the seventies as well, and they're
still going on to this day. So oh, and along
with these pod people were these phantom fires. And we
found numerous accounts of this as well, out there in
the valley where they thought there were wildfires, but then
they'd go and there was nothing burned, no trace of
(02:15:56):
the fire. So are these orbs that people seeing, those
big orange orbs? I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (02:16:03):
Yeah, I've heard a lot recently about these phantom fires
where people claim to see fires in the mountains and
then it's just like a set of lights that will
all of a sudden take off.
Speaker 10 (02:16:14):
Right, do you think they're like the orange orbi things
that they're seeing.
Speaker 1 (02:16:17):
Maybe, I think that's exactly what they're seeing.
Speaker 10 (02:16:20):
To be blunted, I think so too, you know, so too.
Speaker 1 (02:16:25):
I mean it is scary, It is scary to think about,
you know, because how many, how could you put it,
how many firefighters have been called out to these phantom
fires and they know nothing about them and when they
get there, there's nothing there, there's nothing burning, there's nothing
smoking or smoldering.
Speaker 10 (02:16:46):
Yeah, or like if I was to see something like that,
I think, you know, is there a car on fire
or some accident that happened or whatever. So yeah, that's
pretty frightening.
Speaker 1 (02:16:54):
No, absolutely right, you know. And these pod people, I've
never heard of them.
Speaker 10 (02:17:01):
No, I haven't either. And there was a couple cases
of those. And here this one too, this mutilated pigs,
So we've heard a lot of different animals. This was
also in the nineteen nineties. It says an isolated farmer
found three dead pigs mutilated with a machete like machete
type of knife. And I'm not sure if that means
(02:17:22):
that the cuts look like a machete type of knife,
because normally we see these clean, cauterized decisions. But he
does say there was no blood, no tracks, no evidence
of a struggle, and after burying the pigs, the farmer
heard digging at night, which is creepy, and confronted a
dark figure attempting to take the carcasses out of the ground.
(02:17:47):
It said the Colorado Bureau of Investigations was involved and
the case remained unsolved. So what's interesting about this is
just this past weekend, I was invited out to the
Black Four, which is really near the Rocky Mountain Ranch
to investigate an ongoing set of unusual paranormal type things
(02:18:08):
that are occurring right now on this eight acre ranch
out there in the black Forest, and the black Forest
has many, many unusual activities, and they're getting like phantom
cars turning on trunks, opening up things that were reported
even back in the seventies from the ranch years. They
had a fence. So they have chickens and turkey and
(02:18:30):
milking cows and some pigs on their property and they
have this fence that is like crimped, Like there's twenty
of these crimps. It's not easy to open. And he
came out one morning and the thing was just open
and the crimps were still there, Like, how does that
even happen? Animals can't do that. And so this last
(02:18:51):
weekend when we went out to investigate, I walk out
in the backfield and there's a heavily wooded area right
there next to this like volleyball net, and I saw
a dark shadow. So when I read this dead pig
and this dark figure I just saw one last weekend,
it freaked me out. And it wasn't a quick sighting either.
It was a solid one second, two second, three second
(02:19:15):
that I just saw this thing well like this. It
had to be six seven feet tall. But it wasn't
like solid. It wasn't a bigfoot sighting. It was a
dark shadow.
Speaker 1 (02:19:25):
That's creepy. I went out to my spot to collect
my trail cams because I don't think I'm going to
get back there for the remainder of the year and
until spring next year, right, So I pick up my
trail cams, my one camera by my gifting site. The
only thing that I literally caught was the butt of
(02:19:46):
a squirrel almost sitting on my trail camera and on
my other camera. Though nothing paranormal, but I did get
a little Martin jumping because I had it station underneath
a log, and I got a little Martin in the
air jumping from the They're like a weasel, the bigger weasel.
(02:20:13):
And did you.
Speaker 10 (02:20:13):
Catch a mountain lion recently?
Speaker 1 (02:20:15):
And then there was the mountain lion picture. Wow, yeah
it was. It was pretty incredible. I didn't expect to
see her. Yeah, I didn't expect she was healthy.
Speaker 10 (02:20:28):
Yeah, she looked like it. I saw that picture our
neighbor right here on their cam. It wasn't this last year,
but the year before. I had a big old mountain lion. So, yeah,
you have to be careful they're out and about. Oh, yes,
they try to stay away from people.
Speaker 1 (02:20:41):
But and if you ever walking around out here at night,
and if you're ever in the forest and you see
or hear pardon me, whistling, that doesn't sound like people.
That means there's a mountain lion nearby.
Speaker 10 (02:20:56):
Yeah. Have you ever heard their mating calls? It sounds
like a woman's scream, Believe it or not.
Speaker 1 (02:21:02):
This summer had my window in the studio open and
there was one walking down my street doing that?
Speaker 10 (02:21:12):
Yeah, doesn't it sound like a woman screaming?
Speaker 1 (02:21:14):
Oh yeah, oh yeah. It was pretty intense, pretty intense,
I'm sure.
Speaker 10 (02:21:20):
Yeah, my kids, we're camping in Medicine bo Wyoming years back,
and we heard that in the middle of the night,
and we thought a woman was screaming. So here's my
eighteen nineteen year old boys getting their knives out and
we were gonna go on down. I'm like, what are
we thinking? But no, it's pretty it sounds just like it.
How much time do we have? Do we have time
(02:21:41):
for one?
Speaker 1 (02:21:41):
We got two and a half minutes, two.
Speaker 10 (02:21:44):
And a half minute, let's do one for Northwest Territories,
and then we will do more of these next week,
because I have a bunch more from Colorado and from
the Northwest Territories in Canada. But I like this one
because have you ever heard of the Nahani Valley or
the Headless Valley?
Speaker 1 (02:21:58):
I love that story.
Speaker 10 (02:22:01):
Oh my gosh. It's early twentieth century, so we're talking
nineteen sixties, and they said the Nahani Valley, often called
the Headless Valley, an infamous for series of mysterious disappearances,
decapitated prospectors, and legends of strange creatures. So this is
(02:22:22):
of course, people talk about these mountain people or the Nukluk,
hairy human like beings that were basically seen with balls
of fire, silent glowing objects and orbs moving through the
air at night, sometimes hovering over the river. Additionally, they
(02:22:42):
were plagued by these phantom fires. Again, the phantom fires
that would ignite and vanish without a trace, often in
connection with UFO sightings. But what's with the decapitations out there?
That's pretty terrifying.
Speaker 1 (02:22:55):
I actually heard a story from a few years ago
where a television documentary crew was going in there and
they actually have the area cordoned off.
Speaker 10 (02:23:10):
Oh I hope so.
Speaker 1 (02:23:11):
And they limited film time basically saying, you have one
hour to film.
Speaker 10 (02:23:17):
That's scary. What do you think it is?
Speaker 1 (02:23:20):
Well, here's the story. They get dropped off by the helicopter.
Helicopter takes off, circles around, comes back, picks them up.
Is that we got to get ye out of here.
That's all that was said. You can't stay here, it's
not safe. We got to get yat of here. I
personally think that it is a very rogue pod of
(02:23:45):
sasquatch that want to be left alone, because when the
bodies that were decapitated, they weren't cut off like if
it was a like First Nation's tribe that wanted to
it's privacy, you know that still was living like it was,
you know, ten ninety nine. Then I could see them
(02:24:10):
using some sort of knife or some there to be
cut marks. These were ripped, Arms were ripped off, heads
were ripped off, Legs were ripped off. These were ripped
not bitten, not bitten like you would expect a bear
or a mountain lion, not like that Haitie page and
the encounters we got to for about another fifteen minutes
(02:24:33):
here on spaced out radio.
Speaker 6 (02:24:35):
This is spaced out radio, and your host's naised up.
Speaker 1 (02:24:58):
That whole corridor between Alaska, Yukon and into the Northwest
Territories is absolutely screwed up.
Speaker 10 (02:25:11):
I'm reading.
Speaker 1 (02:25:12):
I had a friend of mine names Amber. She moved
from Northwest Territories over to Newfoundland, and while she was
in her U haul truck moving her stuff, she swears
to God that over top just north, still in the
(02:25:34):
Northwest Territories, but above I believe Saskatchewan that for a
while a When to Go was chasing their truck.
Speaker 10 (02:25:43):
Oh man, Yeah, you know, you don't hear too often
that aggressive of bigfoot. I mean typically they'll throw rocks
or bang on trees or but to rip arms, and
I mean that's pretty terrifying. And yeah, and the behavior
(02:26:05):
of that the helicopter people just not saying like they
know they're there, Like I think you're right about that
day that there they must be aware of an aggressive
family or pod is that what you call them? Pods?
Speaker 1 (02:26:20):
I just called it that. I don't know what the
hell they're called. Yeah, you know, but it is something that.
Speaker 11 (02:26:29):
That is.
Speaker 1 (02:26:32):
That is you know, it's a scary area and that's
that's the thing like for a lot of you get
a little bit of it in Colorado because Colorado is
still even though you have a lot of beautiful cities
and towns there, there's still a lot of untouched areas
in Colorado. Now multiply Colorado by about fifty I know it, okay,
(02:26:57):
And that's what you have. What a lot of a
man Americans don't realize is ninety percent of the Canadian
population lives within one hundred miles of the US border.
So if that's ninety percent of the population, you only
have ten percent that is north of one hundred miles
(02:27:18):
from the border. And that's where you get like into
territories like mine. And these creatures they rule the forest.
The animals rule the forest. We're just visitors to their area.
And the more north you go, the bigger the animals get.
So does that mean if you if you're going to
(02:27:40):
have say where you where you or I are where
we have like a big black bears like four hundred
five hundred pounds. You go up north where you have kodiaks,
you have grizzlies, you have brown bears, you have well
eventually up top polar bears. They get up to like
fifteen hundred to two two thousand pounds. You know. So
(02:28:04):
how big are the sasquatch up there? Are they fifteen
feet tall? Are they twenty feet tall? Because they're going
to have to they're going to have to compete for
food source with other predators.
Speaker 10 (02:28:19):
Yeah, I didn't realize that. I mean I read somewhere.
Is this true that Canada, the whole entire country, has
less people than the state of California. Yes, wow, yeah,
and ninety percent of them are within one hundred miles
of the border. My son's in Canada right now. My
(02:28:40):
middle son where he should He's in Winnipeg.
Speaker 1 (02:28:44):
Okay, here's where Grant comes from. Okay, Yeah, there's only
two things that happen in Winnipeg, mosquito season and hockey season.
Speaker 10 (02:28:57):
Well, I'll take the ladder, right, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:29:01):
It's I think per square kilometers, Canada has one of
the lowest population per square kilometers square mile in the world.
I think there's only two point one people per square
mile in Canada.
Speaker 10 (02:29:26):
And most of it's very forested. Correct.
Speaker 1 (02:29:28):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, there's around three hundred and eighteen
billion trees.
Speaker 10 (02:29:36):
I saw this event that is taking place in Canada
and I'm thinking next year, if they have it again,
I have to make plans to go.
Speaker 1 (02:29:44):
I may have some poll there. All right, yeah this
we're doing it on the cheap this year, just to
get it off the ground and see what the public
reaction is.
Speaker 10 (02:29:58):
So it looks fantastic.
Speaker 1 (02:30:02):
Yeah, it's gonna be a good event. Yeah, I'll go
through it. At the end of the show, we got
fifteen seconds. Thank you to Shelley Stargazer, Area fifty three
or Area fifty four, cat Chaser and simply Coco for
the super chats. I love you. Thank you very much
to all our new subscribers. And here we go. Here

to the Northwest Territories. Where are we going next?
Speaker 10 (02:31:41):
We're staying in the Northwest Territories. So have you heard
of Trout Lake?
Speaker 1 (02:31:47):
There are many trout lakes in Canada.
Speaker 10 (02:31:51):
Well, this one I think is called Trout Lake, but
June twenty fifth, nineteen sixty seven, so this was right
around the time of Snippy's mutilation. And this is an
interesting one because it's multi witnesses. So Deborah was her name,
and her brothers and a group of children, while traveling
near Trout Lake, witnessed a brightly lit, disshaped object with
(02:32:12):
flashing red and green lights. The object covered silently, then
descended and appeared to submerge into the lake. That's why
I like this case because we hear of these right
the either UFOs that hover over waters or lakes. They
seem to maybe suck up the water sometimes. And I
think last week I mentioned all these sightings off both
(02:32:34):
the East Coast and the West coast of these lights
that are seen under the water, So this kind of
reminded me of that as well. But what's interesting is
these people, these witnesses claimed that this caused a tingling
sensation and loud noises and then the family's car radio
experience static interfearance during the event. It left the witnesses shaken,
(02:33:00):
of course, and also in the area there was a
lingering ozone like smell, you know. So again it makes
me wonder and reading more and more about Canadian cases.
You guys have tradition of the lake monsters and UFOs
(02:33:21):
flying in and out of around water, I think there's
something to that.
Speaker 1 (02:33:27):
A lot happened in nineteen sixty seven up here, Okay,
it was the one hundred year anniversary of Canada. Not
only that, it's the same year the Falcon Lake incident
happened with Stephan Micklick in Manitoba. It's also the same
year that Paul Hellier, when he was Minister of Defense,
(02:33:52):
cut the red ribbon on a UFO landing pad in
I believe it was. I know it's in Alberta somewhere,
and basically there's a sign that says everybody and everything
is welcoming Canada, Okay. And then shortly a few months
(02:34:13):
later in October is when shag Harbor happened. Right, So
nineteen sixty seven in the year of it was like
the year of eupology in Canada.
Speaker 10 (02:34:26):
Yeah, San Luis Valley too, they were going back and forth. Yeah, wow,
that's amazing. So speaking of like this tingling and animal
mutilations in that, this one was also in nineteen sixty
seven in how do I say this? Ben?
Speaker 6 (02:34:46):
Now?
Speaker 10 (02:34:48):
Am I saying that?
Speaker 1 (02:34:49):
Right?
Speaker 10 (02:34:49):
Is it spelled b e n go ugh.
Speaker 1 (02:34:55):
Ben goff ben goff ben goff?
Speaker 3 (02:34:59):
All right?
Speaker 10 (02:35:00):
So this was a high pitched whining animal reactions case.
It says Miss Martha Hedges reported a high pitched whining
sound and saw a bright object covering near her property.
The family's animals fled the area, and the witnessed experience
tingling sensations. Again, so what's with that the object eventually
(02:35:22):
shot away at high speed. This case is notable for
the animal reactions and the physical effects on the witness
So very similar to the Trout Lake incident where they're
claiming these tingling effects and the high pitched whining and
humming that was also very you know, widely reported in
(02:35:42):
the late sixties throughout the seventies, where these hum sounds.
And I know there's certain researchers out there that believe
if a UFO emits any like flames or makes hum
sounds or that maybe they're more terrestrial in nature. I
don't know if from an agreement with that, because I mean,
(02:36:03):
isn't it possible that ET's craft also evolved just like
our own do. So maybe in the sixties and seventies
they did make a low hum and now they're silent.
I don't know, what do you think of that?
Speaker 1 (02:36:16):
I don't know. The whole UFO sounds just kind of
trips me out a little bit, it really does, because
every UFO that I have seen except one, has not
made a sound. The only UFO that I have ever
seen that made a sound was the first one I
ever saw.
Speaker 10 (02:36:37):
And what kind of sound did it make? It?
Speaker 1 (02:36:39):
The way I would describe it would be like it
almost sound like the humming sound of a C one
thirty hercules. It had a very deep monotone yes, yes,
just like yeah, And it was fun because I literally
(02:37:02):
saw I mean I'll use today's terminology, but it was
like an orange ticktac oh And it was at where
I lived with my parents at that time. I was
going to college and I was living with my parents
and they lived up on this hill. And it was literally,
as the crow flies, about five miles from our local airport.
(02:37:26):
And our local airport shut down at midnight. And this
was at about two thirty in the morning. I was
standing on the patio at summer night and I heard
this buzzing sound. Because I'm an I've always been an
amateur military aircraft buff and so I know the sounds,
(02:37:47):
and it sounded like I see one thirty And I
looked up in the sky watched this orange ticktac out
of the sky and I watched it fly over top
of the airport. Now, the airport at night all black
because they don't want they don't have any runway lights
on because the airport's closed. Everything gets diverted to Vancouver,
(02:38:09):
and all of a sudden, the light went off, and
then about thirty seconds later, the buzzing sound went off. Interesting, Yeah,
that was my first ever UFO. I saw.
Speaker 10 (02:38:23):
Wow, And how old were you then?
Speaker 1 (02:38:25):
I was twenty one?
Speaker 10 (02:38:27):
Okay, Wow, that's interesting. Okay, do we have time for
one more quick one?
Speaker 1 (02:38:33):
We have time, as much time as you need.
Speaker 10 (02:38:36):
Okay, let's just do one more. Get it in here.
This is called a yellow Knife. Do you know where
yellow Knife is?
Speaker 1 (02:38:42):
Yes, that's the capital of the Northwest Territory.
Speaker 10 (02:38:45):
All right, Well, in yellow Knife there was a UFO
landing and repair. This is in nineteen seventy six. Again,
another thing we hear more of in that timeframe are
these cases where they have land craft in ets like
underneath repairing, like the Sacoro case and other cases like that.
(02:39:07):
And I wonder how much of that is just like
copycatting reporting. No, this person is reporting a landed craft
with ets. But here we have a case and yellow Knife,
Canada out there. You know, I don't know. It's just
kind of interesting that those you don't hear that today?
Do you ever hear cases of that today? I certainly don't.
(02:39:28):
But this one says a group of prospectors camping near
Yellowfork repeated seeing a domed metallic object descended in land
and a clearing. Through binoculars, they observe several small figures
in silvery suits emerge and appear to work on the
craft on the underside of the craft. It also says
(02:39:49):
that using tools that admitted blue sparks, the event lasted
about twenty minutes before the figures re entered the craft,
which then lifted off silently. The next day, the witnesses
found scorched grass and three indentations in a triangular pattern
at the landing site, So there may be some possible
evidence there. That would be a case I wouldn't mind
(02:40:11):
trying to look more into to see what was actually
research there, you know. And then this one too really
quickly in Nahani National Park they also claim to see
the little men in a dome craft kind of correlates
with that one. So no sound on that one. A
(02:40:31):
circular patch of of scorched moss at the site.
Speaker 1 (02:40:35):
So wait until you get to the next territory over.
You've done Yukon, you've done Northwest Territory. Now you've got
to go to.
Speaker 10 (02:40:46):
Nunavut, right mix my next one and look up.
Speaker 1 (02:40:52):
The story of the missing people. Oh they have you know,
like I believe in the US, you have the missing
people of Roanoke. Mm hmm, they have that up there
in it Wow, where the entire community just.
Speaker 10 (02:41:14):
Vanished that's wild, like mass abduction.
Speaker 1 (02:41:21):
Don't know. Nobody knows, but they do know. Just like
in Roanoke that there was signs that food was being cooked,
water was being boiled, and all sorts of things. And
these people just vanished.
Speaker 10 (02:41:40):
Wow, all right, coming up next week.
Speaker 1 (02:41:43):
And the other part about that is they are so
remote there's no roads to get in there. You had
to fly in.
Speaker 5 (02:41:50):
Oh man.
Speaker 1 (02:41:51):
Yeah, they just vanished.
Speaker 10 (02:41:54):
Makes you wonder about portals under the ground.
Speaker 1 (02:41:57):
Right, it's it's it's weird. Katie Page from Rocky Mountain
Research Ranch. We love it when you were here. Thank
you for everything you do for Spaced Out Radio.
Speaker 10 (02:42:10):
Thank you for having me. I'll see you guys next week.
Speaker 1 (02:42:13):
Talk to you next week, Katie Paige. Everybody, it's time
for the weird news of the week.
Speaker 3 (02:42:19):
As God is my witness, I thought turkeys could fly.
Speaker 10 (02:42:23):
Ladies and gentlemen, here is the latest bulletin from the
Inder Continental Radio News.
Speaker 1 (02:42:29):
I am good at things, fighting and reading the news.
It's time once again for Spaced Out Radios weird News
of the week. We're going to start off in the
beautiful state of Georgia. Why now, Mama Catherine, if you're listening.
(02:42:49):
Make sure you plug your ears, because we don't need
you to be influenced by this. But apparently Georgians will
step out on their spouse before they'll steal I'm at work,
according to new data that reveals the Peach State's peculiar
moral compass points directly away from the office and straight
towards the bedroom. Why it matters well, Georgia brands itself
(02:43:14):
as a business friendly state build on reliability and ethics,
but a new study shows residents save their integrity for
the workplace and spend it everywhere else. Solitaire Bliss surveyed
Americans across all fifty states about their everyday cheating habits,
(02:43:35):
and Georgia's results painted a picture of a state, let's
just be honest, pretty horny, Yeah yeah, a selective morality,
as they call it in the politically correct term. Georgia's
ranked second highest nationally for admitting to cheating on a partner,
which is at fifty two percent, and seventh highest for
(02:43:57):
cheating on a diet eighty four percent. Yet when it
comes to self checkout theft or cutting corners at work,
Jordans or Georgians rather suddenly find themselves with a conscience.
Only thirty percent of Georgia residents admit to cheating at
self checkouts, making the state six lowest nationally for retail theft.
(02:44:20):
More telling, just twenty six percent say they've cheated at
work to get ahead, the second lowest rate in the country.
The tax line splits the difference. About eighteen percent of
Georgians admit to cheating on their taxes, lending the state
at eleventh highest nationally, high enough to be notable, low
enough to maintain plausible deniability. The data suggests Georgians have
(02:44:43):
internalized the state's decades long pitch to corporations were reliable
or business friendly, we won't cheat on you. They've just
decided that promise doesn't extend to their personal lives. The
disconnect is sharp. A state where more than half of
the residents admit infidelity somehow maintains one of the lowest
rates of workplace cheating in the nation. Georgians will betray
(02:45:07):
their marriage, but they will not fudge around on their
time sheets. How do you figure that? Wow, I don't
know whether to be impressed or ashamed. Oh my goodness,
all right, let's get to another one. This one's actually
kind of scary. Let's go over to Japan. Japan has
(02:45:30):
now deployed military troops to the country's rugged north. Why
they have to trap bears after local authorities said besieged
communities were struggling to cope with an unprecedented wave of
bear attacks. The operation began in Kazuno, a small town
(02:45:51):
nestled among the forested mountains that have seen a sharp
increase in bear sightings for weeks. Residents have been urged
to avoid the thick woods and stay indoors after dark
to keep clear of the bears foraging near their homes
for food. In BC, where I live, we call this
Wednesday night. Yeah, makes sense for the latest ESG trends
(02:46:16):
affecting companies and governments. Well, this is going on, even
if it's just temporary. The help from the military is
a big relief, says one resident who oversees the town's
bear department. I used to think bears would always run
away then they heard noise, But now or when they
(02:46:36):
heard noise, pardon me, but now they actually come toward you.
They're actually truly frightening animals, he had him. There have
been more than one hundred bear attacks, with a record
twelve people killed across Japan since April. According to the
Ministry of Environment, two thirds of those deaths were in
(02:46:57):
Akita Prefecture, where because Who is located and nearby Iwata
I apologize if I butchered those names. In Akita, authorities
say bear sightings have jumped sixfold this year to more
than eight thousand at attacks are on track to set
a new record, prompting its governor to request help from
(02:47:19):
the self defense forces last week. The townspeople feel they're
in danger every day, says Mayor Shinsei Sesamoto, after a
meeting fifteen or so soldiers who rolled into town in
an army truck in jeeps equipped with body armor and
a large map. It has affected how people live their lives,
(02:47:43):
facing them to stop going out or to even cancel events.
The troops were there to transport, set and inspect steel
barred traps used to capture bears that are later shot
by trained hunters hired to cull the population. On a
mountain roadside near the town, Local forestry officials showed soldiers
(02:48:04):
how to assemble and load traps onto trucks. The white
helmeted troops carried bear spray and were guarded by others
with shields and a long wooden pole shaped like rifles
usually used for bayonet drills. I thought maybe something was
on fire, said one local resident, who stepped outside to
see what was happening, her radio blaring to scare off bears.
(02:48:27):
We all try not to encounter the bears, but we
hear about people getting attacks, she said, declining to give
her name. You know what, like I said, in British Columbia,
we have seen actually a rise of grizzly bear attacks. Yeah,
few people have been killed this year by grizzly bears
because they have a moratorium on hunting the bears, so
(02:48:48):
the bears know they have no predators now except maybe
sasquatch or a dog man. But literally, it's the reality,
is there and true story. Every night after the show,
I go out to look at the stars or the clouds,
or just catch some fresh air. And it hasn't happened
in ten years yet. Knock on wood been in my
(02:49:10):
house or my studio is for almost ten years, and
I'm absolutely paranoid that one day I'm going to open
up my carport door and boob, there's going to be
a bear right there. It happens, you have to live
with it. That's what happens when you live in their territory.
But you still don't want them in their territory invading
(02:49:33):
your property, especially when they're foraging for winter. They're kind
of grumpy this time of year. Let's move on. Here's
a weird one, all right. There was a figure caught
on video through the window of a historic government building
(02:49:53):
that appears to be a woman. Some say that she
was naked, others say she wore a light robe. From
her second story heights. She looked briefly at the protesters
walking outside in Mexico, but one pulled out their cell
phone camera, took a picture towards her, and walked into
the dark out of sight. The footage, taken this past
(02:50:15):
April during a teacher's process protest over wages in the
main square of San Luis Potosi, a city in central Mexico,
shot around the Internet and raised all the obvious questions.
Who was this person, why would she be dressed or
undressed like that in a state government building, and did
she have anything to do with the governor or another
(02:50:37):
state employee. The Governor's suggestion drew only more attention. It
could be the ghost of Charlotte, the only empress in Mexico,
a woman whose short and turbulent nineteenth century reign transformed
her into the legendary figure known as Carlotta. Her remarks
true national attention to the mystery, as well as jokes,
(02:50:58):
skepticism and criticism of the governor, who has been accused
of trying to divert the focus from the teachers protest
his government spending and other issues. If it had been
a ghost, everyone would have reacted in that moment, said
Leo Torres Hernandez, one of the teachers protesting that day
over what they call unpaid wages. But we didn't. It
(02:51:20):
was not a ghost. Someone was there. It even drew
a brief comment from President Claudia Shinbaum. We must always
respect public places, especially historic sites. Months later, the questions
around the figure of the window remain resolved. No one
has come forward as the person or publicly been identified them. No,
(02:51:42):
there were hundreds of teachers protesting that day, and it
was not clearly exactly who recorded the video, although they're
still not sure. Was she naked, was she dressed? Was
she a ghost or was she human? It's a weird photo. Indeed,
they might want to check big Thank you to Steve
Pierce and Katie Page coming on tonight of course swamp
(02:52:05):
