(00:11):
Welcome on into the Thursday edition ofSports Memo. Today. I'm your host,
Dan Alexander alongside our great guests, bringing you actionable information in thirty minutes
or less. We got a greatfour pack of plays coming for you from
two of my favorites, Eric Pauligonna be up first. He's gonna be
taking a look at an NFL semifuture looking towards the draft, and he's
(00:33):
also got to play in some MLBaction going today. Looking at my fills,
I'm always intrigued seeing what he's thinkingthere. And then we got jam
Sports my man, Jeff Michael's comingon. He's gonna be looking all NBA
playoffs for you, looking forward tothat as well. So let's get right
into it. Welcome in, EricPauli, our man over with the gold
sheeting here on sports memo dot com. Always a pleasure, my guy.
(00:57):
And right before we came on,I don't know if it's confirm armed or
anything yet, but it's looking likeyour Washington Commanders might just have a guy
who we know well, Josh Harrisas a as as an owner of the
Commanders as Dan Snyder's selling. Sowhat I haven't seen anything confirmed but it's
reported. So I don't know, what do you think about a Philly guy
who now owns the Devils and theCommanders and the Sixers at being the head
(01:22):
of the team. Yes, Sothe second guest of today's show, Jeff
Michaels, just taking being a tweetthat Pat mccafee broke it on the show
that Dann Tires agreed the Commanders forsix billion dollars to the group, like
you said, led by Josh Harris. I was a huge advocate for Bezeos
bying Washington, but after those reportscame out yesterday that he was never going
(01:44):
to officially submit the bid, obviouslyI put that to rest. But now
I am seeing things trickling into mytimeline TMZ. Of course the Pet McAfee
show that this has happened. Andmy only concern, or my biggest concern,
is just that whoever bought the teamnow clearly Josh Harris build a stadium
directly in Washington, DC for everybody'ssay, nobody, let's going to landover
(02:05):
DC's the top five market in theentire United States. Let's rebuild this thing.
And this actually gets me very veryexcited. So congratulations to the Harris
group up. If you need anew investor, I'll hop in. But
that's because they got the field going. Yeah, and I will say Josh
Harrison, the Harris ownership group decidedthat they're going to build a sixer stadium
like in the Financial or in theFashion district in Philadelphia. So they're all
(02:29):
about making brand new stadiums even whenpeople don't want them. So so the
van base does want them, Ithink that might be at the top of
the list for them. We actuallywill be talking commanders here in just a
few moments, but let's start withmy Philadelphia Phillies. You think up Hitcher
might not be stacking up the casehere today in baseball action? What are
we eying here? Eric, Yeah, So I'm looking at Bailey Falter started
(02:53):
for the Phillies going tonight on theroad in Cincinnati. I liken to go
under four and a half strikeouts fortoday's I'm actually a big Faltered fan,
and he's actually already burned me hisfirst start. I had him over strikeouts.
He would under in that first strikeand that first matchup and his last
start was against the Sam Cincinnati Redsteam and they only racked up two ks
in that matchup, and now hehas to face them in Cincinnati. I
(03:15):
don't think he can get to thatnumber of five again. Falter is a
good pitcher, but throughout his shortMLB career he's just simply not a strikeout
pitcher. Last year he was wellabove the league, well below excuse me,
the league averaging strikeouts percentage. He'salready on pace to be below that
so far this season. Only fivek's and two outings so far this year,
and while they were both actually greatoutings, the issue was not locking
(03:37):
into strikeouts. It's a little bitconcerning simply because the Reds they have a
twenty four point one percent k rateagainst left handed pitching, and their k
rate at home is decently high. But I think of that numbers a little
bit inflated because of course they haveto go against Strider yesterday, who rung
up a bunch of them, andFalter again, no knock on him,
great pitcher. I think the Phillisactually are alive as a dog to nine
one hundred percent, but racking upfive ks against the lineup that already has
(04:00):
seen him one time and knows him, I don't think he's able to do
that. He's just not strug outkind of guy, not a strikeout kind
of guy. And only mine isone ten for Bailey Falter under the four
and a half has there, that'sEric Pauley. Check him out at at
sports Memo dot com and also checkoutGoldsheet dot com making great content over there
(04:20):
day after day. All Right,we already talked a little bit of Commanders,
but do you think you might evenhave a little hone in on who
they might be going in the firstround? Do we think Josh Harris is
an OH Lineman kind of guy? What are we ing here? So the
thing to consider it? So firstthings first, speaking out the gold Sheet
is today I'm actually after the showfinalizing an article basically outlining the dues and
(04:43):
don'ts of betting on the NFL Draft. Sports betting is full of the information
driven business, but there's nothing moreinformation driven and the way to make money
than knowing instead of guessing on thingslike betting on dress obviously including the NFL
Draft. So that is going todrop later today. Definitely take a look
at that because the number one thingbetting on the draft is information. So
(05:03):
now, obviously, while writing that, I did not know that the sale
was happening, But I do notthink that Josh Harris is going to impact
this draft. Maybe he'll go andget Lamar Jackson, which will make me
happy. We would even have afirst round pick that will be avoided,
but that's a digression. Aside, assuming Washington States put at sixteen or even
does trade back, I'm going witha plus money bet that Washington is going
(05:25):
to select an offensive lineman with theirfirst selection in the draft meeting. They
could sit tight sixteen, they couldtrade down, or they could set down
later in the first round. Outof the first round doesn't matter to me
as long as the first player theydraft is an offensive lineman. Looking at
Ron Rivera's history, now again goingback, information is the biggest thing,
and while I would have any sourceson this, this is quarter of a
fuel play based on Ron Rivera's draftinghistory. So a lot of talk about
(05:48):
Jean Robinson because Rivera has drafted runningbacks highly before. I don't think that
that's likely. A lot to talkabout cornerback, which is actually the favorite
to get selected first. But givenout how deep the drift is at cornerback
and how important are or how apparent, I should say our issues on the
offensive line are I think Washington ismuch more likely to select a stalwart aligneman
(06:10):
in the first round and wait toselect a cornerback later in the draft because
they have had success with their currentstarting quarterback Benjamin Saint Jus fifth round pick
a couple of years back, aswell as some other sieties that we've selected
whoth turned up like Cam Curl DerekForrest. Those were seventh and fifth round
players. We're not mistaken. SoI think, knowing how big of a
we have an old lineman we signedAndrew Wiley, who is a stopgap.
(06:33):
Sam Cosby second round pick a coupleof years ago, has not panned out.
That we have Charles Leno, who'sobviously on the backbround of his career.
We need to stalk left tackle forwhoever Josh Harris wants to be our
quarterback moving forward. I'll take theplus money on the Commander's first pick being
alignman. Cool and you have donequite well with the future plays here,
given them out for free on SportsMemo today. Eric Left. Folks know
(06:57):
you mentioned one of the articles thatyou have going over there at gold Sheet.

the day, one traditional spread andmoney line total, another player prop of
(07:19):
the day, and if I'm notmistaken, we're plus sixteen units so far
this season. I'm putting together thosestat sheets. So fantastic things are coming
at the gold sheet right now.Of course we're in MLB season. We
have a lot of content coming forthe actual NBA playoffs on this play and
nonsense of course, the NHIL playoffson the horizon, some big fights,
(07:40):

so on and so forth. Sowe are putting together our calendar. We're
getting heart to work and we aregetting, like you said, Dan,
information in articles, analysis from someof the most some of the best experts

best to roll with is my manj M Sports Jeff Michaels. He does
it all. He's definitely been divingin on MLB and now it's the NBA
(09:28):
Real Playoffs, as Eric Pauli likesto call him. And let's start in
Cleveland where you know, well,my guy, and take a look at
this Cleveland Cavaliers series. You thinkyou have a way to attack it,
maybe get a more advantageous price. What are we looking at? Jeff?
Yeah, absolutely, that's a lotof what I've been looking at. You
know, I've had some funky ones. Last time I was on here,
(09:48):
we talked about first time NBA championsand you know, trying to find ways
to get a little better money lineor a better little better line there,
or get rid of the line altogether, kind of which is what I'm looking
at doing here. So I foundit on DraftKings. I know you can
(10:09):
get it a couple other places too, but you get in before game one
and we parlay a money line winin Game one for the Cavs with a
series win regardless of how many gamesit goes, regardless of how many points
they win Game one by all wegotta do is win Game one and win
the series. And I definitely thinkboth of those are achievable without question.
(10:35):
I mean, you got Cleveland. One of the biggest things that I like
here is the revenge angle. Thelast game that these two played was in
Cleveland, one of the best hometeams in the league, and then Nicks
took them down in Cleveland as anunderdog. Cleveland six and two straight up.
They're six one and one against thespread, if you want to go
there. Revenging a loss is afavorite at home. They're winning those games
(11:00):
by double digits and they're twelve andtwo straight up at home. Revenging a
loss is a favorite regardless of thesight of the previous game in the last
three years, and they're winning thoseby eight points per game. You know,
Cleveland is off a loss. Idon't put too much onto that because
they were resting a bunch of theirstarters obviously, But from the series perspective,
(11:22):
you want to talk about him winningthe series I mentioned that they're one
of the best home teams, andright now this may be the only series
that it happens. But right nowthey have home court advantage, and I
think that that's going to be big. You know, even if they lose
one game at home, potentially couldgo to a seven game. But the
other thing that I'm looking at hereis brandon Ingram is questionable for game one.
(11:46):
So I don't know if I loveCleveland laying almost six points, but
the fact that we could very wellnot see brandon Ingram in game one because
who would risk him for Game onein the seven game series if he's not
at you know, this game couldor this series could potentially go five games.
I was looking at the over inthe series total two, but over
(12:09):
five and a half games, you'relaying minus one eighty, so I figured
not worry about how many games ittakes. I do think Cleveland wins at
least three of their home games, and if this situation came down to that,
I think they get one on theroad. I do think they win
this series in probably six or seven, but we could be looking at five
if randalls out longer than a game. Looking at making a nice price on
(12:33):
Cleveland taking advantage of that home courtthere. I love that little creative way
to get that price down a littlebit, only minus one fifteen if you
throw those together over at Draft Kings. You also have a player prop for
us. Before we get to that. I want you to strutch your stuff
a little bit, because way backwhen you came on and you were like,
hey, I have another one that'skind of off the board here,
(12:54):
and it was talking and trying totake an NBA team to win a title
for the first time. So reallywhat you were hoping was, we're gonna
have a lot of teams who haven'twon an NBA title here in this tournament.
And I don't know, we're lookingpretty good. I think we're getting
close to having about a twenty fivepercent chance at getting that done here as
the playoffs kick off, right,Yeah, you know I did. I
(13:18):
said something to you yesterday because theycaught my attention. If OKAYC does not
take the eight seed out of thisplay in tournament, then you're guaranteed a
twenty five percent chance to have afirst time champ because coming out of the
West, you would have the one, the eight, and the four and
(13:41):
the five, who would play inthe Semis would be all first time champs
if we get Minnesota coming out ofthis play in game. But you know,
I think it's a good point tobe made because I like these funky
ones, like you said, Dan, But you know, if you wike
any of these teams, I dolike a little of a cushion when you
(14:01):
still especially when you still get agood price. You get the Nuggets,
you get the Grizzlies, you getthe Suns, the Quippers, and it
would be Minnesota with us with aneight seed and you get Brooklyn, you
know, as a one off inthe East. So if you wike any
of those teams and you want alittle bit of a cushion, don't I
(14:24):
wouldn't always jump on the first thing. I would take a look and look
around because some of these funky ones, you know, apply to conferences or
apply to divisions and give you alittle bit of an extra cushion. But
still getting plus two hundred money atthis point, Yeah, I love it
and love the breakdown, then loveit even more as we get closer and
closer to cash in that one.I love when we get the future plays
(14:46):
because it reminds people it always paysto watch live here on Sports Memo at
TV. Check us out every Tuesdayand Thursday on Sports Memo Today. All
right, you got one more forhim, And you're taking a look towards
Pat Williams. And no, notthe eight year old co founder of the
Orlando Magic. You're looking at theall star rookie power forward on your Chicago
(15:07):
Bulls. So how are we goingto be betting him? Yeah, you
know, the last look at theplay in games, like we said,
but I think Pa Williams has thematchup here. You know, if you
watch that Miami game against Atlanta, that inside for Miami outside of Bam Auto
Bio was non existent. I meanI am a Kevin Love fan to some
(15:31):
extent, but him and Cody ZellerI believe, combined for seven minutes on
the court in that game. Andthose are the only two guys that were
listed as power forwards or centers thatgot into the game release. So that
middle was solely based around out ofbio. And I think vussa bitch comes
(15:52):
out and you know, Kim potentiallyput a body up on Auto Baio,
but that leaves the opportunity for otherguys to get the rebound and he can
score, especially against the second unit. So I'm looking over eleven and a
half points and rebounds combined. He'sgone over his points number in five out
of the last seven and five outof the last seven road games. But
(16:15):
you'll look at those last couple ofroad games, and that's why I did
decide to throw in this rebound number. I am a fan. His points
number is at eight and a halfright now too. I believe I would
look there because he's had double digitpoints in five of the last seven,
but two out of his last threeroad games he's had six plus rebounds two,
(16:36):
so I think he gets some reboundswhen he could potentially be out there
with Vussevic on autubio, where youknow he had Voussovich kind of just has
to put that body into him andbox him out, which opens up the
door for other guys to get theboards. And I think he benefits from
potentially playing the center position in asecond unit where you know, who knows
(16:57):
who he could be on. Hecould be on Kevin Love, who's what
almost thirty five at this point,I believe, And so Cody Zeller's up
there too, so not much competitionin the second unit in the paint,
and you know, like I said, there is a matchup in the middle
now, so he gets an opportunitywith the first unit. He could put
up some points and rebounds here.So I like over eleven and a half
(17:18):
points and rebounds in that last playin game. Tomorrow s m dot buzz
slash JMS is where you can finda man Jeff Michaels. And we got
MLB action going today, the NBAplay in going down and then we got

actually in that Chicago game, notthat Pat Williams play officially yet, but
it is in that game. Sowe got some play in locked and loaded,
