Allen and RD try Oktoberfest by Erdinger Weissbrau.

From Untappd:
"As hearty as a Bavarian beer festival: our ERDINGER Oktoberfest. This masterpiece of the brewer’s art is ideal for parties! ERDINGER Oktoberfest expertly combines smooth malt aromas with a pronounced hop bitterness. This well-balanced flavour is complemented by gently sparkling carbonic acid to give it the typical liveliness of a genuine wheat beer. Smooth, strong and irresistible – brewing tradition at its finest.

As a full-bodied specialty for the festival season, it whets the appetite for Bavaria’s famous drinking song “Prosit der Gemütlichkeit”.

“Bayerische Edelreifung” – for perfect enjoyment. Brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law."

I don't think so, because I don't think all this.
I don't think fest beers are I think it's the
first time we've had this maybe. Yeah, we do go
through a lot of october Fest and whatever in fest beers,
but I don't think most fest beers are the wheat beer.

Speaker 1 (02:35):
They're like the Hellas.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
Version, right, and most of them are so yeah, they're
like the Lagger or light Lagger or Hellas I guess.

You should call you should probably call them hell set
of light Laggers. But uh, it's nice. It gives it
a different take.

Speaker 2 (02:47):
It's a little bit, you know, like a whet beer

was like I try to change my damn user.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Name to that one day and they wouldn't take up.
I'll take you trying to use some I did. Yeah,
it wasn't. It's not what we talked about. Well, no,
I mean there was.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
I was like, right, yes, making babies that way.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, it was like they wouldn't take that, but they
took it with the out or they yeah or whatever.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
At the end it was so punk special. They did
cheers to that. Yeah. I didn't even like the guy,
you know that.

Speaker 2 (03:43):
They were like cutting the cake or something like that,
celebrating something. And so there's like five people there before
them got their hands on that.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
The other guy in the hands like this and his
hands like not even touching their hands. You've never seen that, Jesus.
You're just making things.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
As much as you're on the internet. You're on the
internet more than most people. You're on the internet more
than four thirteen year old girls.

Speaker 1 (04:01):
That's lie. And it's like some of these things you
just don't see.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
Maybe your feet is just clogged with certain you know
certain A lot of it's always sonny.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
I was gonna say that, but yeah, it's always sunny.
Lot a lot of it's always sunny.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
Then it goes to the lego version of it's always
I'm seeing a lot of Charlie lately.

Speaker 1 (04:24):
He goes, I don't know if you're half man or
what are you doing.

Speaker 3 (04:31):
I saw the clip yesterday Yeah, that was that was
restaurant Dogs.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
I was like, he died, didn't he? R? I p
the original the actor for that. What's his name? He
was in a Heyful eight.

Speaker 2 (04:45):
Yeah, he was in a TV A show on TV
Michael Manson.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Michael Manson he was in Yeah, that's him.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
He was in a Move or a remember Full Tilt,
the TV show when poker was like booming out.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I think he was in there, give me two seconds.
It was as bad as it actually just called tilt
tilt Tilt in two thousand and five? Was it on
like HBO or was that like on t N T
or something like that. Let's see if it will tell
me and almost sounds.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Or maybe it was on what was a Spike TV?
You a Spike TV? No, actually was on ESPN, that's right, yeah,
because they used to. I mean it was not a
stop poker back then. Loved that. We can talk more
about that tonight.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
But yeah, he was also in Quantum Leap. Oh, it's
probably like an episode here or there or something like that, especial.
I don't think so.

Speaker 1 (05:36):
You don't think he would pass for a special needs guy?

Speaker 3 (05:38):
You know, he's an actor, Okay, I don't think so
he was also on Miami Vice.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Yeah, okay, cool, let's get back to it. Okay, hey,
who was it? What's your thoughts on this beer?

Speaker 3 (05:50):
Delicious? Delicious, really good at it too.

Speaker 1 (05:54):
So that's because it's a.

Speaker 3 (05:55):
Week your weep beer is gonna have that.

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I'm just saying. I like that.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It's it was super carbonated, like not overly carbonated. But
you'rs phone up really like I'm hunt and a lot
of phone mine went down, but it went down pretty
quick and it had a nice paper white head on it.
Micro a lot of micro bubbles, very nice. But yeah,
I mean it's obviously we got it somewhat fresh.

Speaker 1 (06:14):
I guess I mean within the year.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
Yeah, I mean it was produced yeah in April, yeah,
six months yeah, which.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
I mean for total wine, that's like a brand new beer.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
At least we got it this season, right, and I
guarantee it'll be on the shelf past that. Past that.

Speaker 3 (06:36):
They don't care, which is crazy because they sell a
lot of beer. But it's just they I guess they
just stop. They have so much. I I don't know
what it is. I don't think they sell a lot
of beer. I think beer cells are down.

Speaker 2 (06:47):
You think across the board, especially like craft beers and
like even like season beer, like even beers like that.
The next generation just isn't like drinking and it's like
it's not it's a good I.

Speaker 3 (06:58):
Mean, that's coincide with that's this simple fact that the
next generation is a bunch of bitches too. I mean,
come on, that is really good. Really enjoying it?

Speaker 1 (07:15):
Yeahunt like a four on that, you think?

Speaker 3 (07:19):
So we had a four out of five. I really
enjoyed weet beers. That was probably one of the first
styles that I really started drinking, like uh fat tire.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Yeah, with a little orange slice.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
I never fruit in my beer, though they say it's
part of the drink. Okay, yeah, they would put it
on my glass and I just take it, just ship
out of here. Ain't trying to be healthy.

Speaker 1 (07:43):
With my beer. Maybe that opens up the flavor.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
I like the flavor without it.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (07:51):
I mean the person that made it has no idea
what they're doing. So yeah, I agree, you do you
you know you probably? Yeah, you know more about it
than anything.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Right pressed.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
I know what I like. I mean, I don't care
what the way they decide. I know what I like.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
Right there?

Speaker 2 (08:07):
You go for sure, because it's freaking amazing. I really
enjoyed it. I don't remember having it in the past.
I remember having their fast beer, but like the Weiss
or you know whatever, not the weet beer.

Speaker 1 (08:17):
But you know, we've had so many of these, it's
been so long, for like six years.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
But yeah, it's another banger, and I'm glad that we
got a fresh can.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
Yeah, I mean, I'm impressed, not even mad, I'm impressed.
But have you guys had this before? Have you drank
this over in Germany? Maybe possibly tell us if you have,
tell us about it. We would love to hear your story.

Speaker 1 (08:42):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:43):
Since the email, strike a Beer at gmail dot com,
spare no detail them all. As always, I'm out.

Speaker 1 (08:50):
We'll talk to you guys later

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
