Speaker 1 (00:00):
What is going on? Everybody? Welcome to strikeout beer with
your pounds. Allen Rapidad and RAPPI.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
Dave Allan, how's it going, buddy?

Speaker 1 (00:05):
Not bad tonight. We're having a fun little beer. Well,
it's fun named. I'll say that this is if you
get the nacho stuck together, that's one nacho. This is
a hazy I p a not shocked that this is
from Martin House, the canart, the name.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
The Yeah, it's a hazy ip with Strata and netron
hops got to ever score four point zero ight out
of five tap only eighty three ratings, right, and I
mean obviously, I mean if you don't know, you're getting
ready to know this is from Saving Silverman, which is

(00:42):
just a hilarious movie. You've got, you know, Jason Biggs,
Amanda Pete, Steve's on Jack Black.

Speaker 1 (00:51):
Just I guess I could take a picture of this.

Speaker 2 (00:53):
And that that old army guy that I can't remember
what that guy's name is, but it's just he's just know,
I've just always known him as the army guy, right,
he was the coach.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
So Steeve Saved Silverman two thousand and what was it one?
Two thousand and two?

Speaker 2 (01:07):
I mean you thought I.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
Thought I had it right here. Literally two thousand and one.
American Romantic comm is a rom com back then. Oh yeah, yeah,
who's the You had Neil Diamond in there. It's a
cover band, r Lee Ernie is his name. Yeah, a
couple couple of hot, hot hotties in there, you know,
Amanda Detmer and then Amanda Pete. Like you said, but

(01:28):
uh yeah, so that's the the mascot to their high school.
I still got it. Oh my god. It is really
a goofy ass movie. But yeah, cheers pass.

Speaker 2 (01:40):
That's most good.

Speaker 1 (01:42):
Yeah. The colors like amazing. Okay, I like that. I
wish I bought more than one can. Man, that aftertaste
is awesome.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I wish I bought more than one can.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Is that? What's the next nextron put out in these days?

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Honestly, that's the first time I've heard of netron neck
taran neck turn. Yeah, that's where you're get this from.
So it's gonna you got pineapple towards the end, So
it should have notes of intensely tropical with notes of pineapple,
passion fruit, peach, grapefruit, and stone fruits. You definitely get
some peach, some passion fruit, pineapple.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Let me ask you this question. Yes, yes, you should
have bought more.

Speaker 2 (02:25):
Well, I bought other beers, you know, But when was
the last time you ate nachos and didn't use that
line while you were eating the nachos. I don't even
if it's just yourself, like as you pick up a couple,
you grab a nacho and there's like a couple of
stuff to it.

Speaker 1 (02:41):
I have jacho's probably at least once a week, I
would like to say, and then this past week I
had like probably two or three times for some reason.
I don't know why I haven't made those nachos in
a couple of weeks though, Okay, where you just throw
that it's on the tray, it's probably been a month.
Throw throw it on the plate, cover it with cheese,
microwave it for you know, thirty seconds or whatnot, and

(03:01):
then of course I'll start together. But yeah, I don't know.
I mean, I feel like I say it a lot
because it's always you say it a lot. We're not hit,
but like ad I dont mean you.

Speaker 2 (03:12):
Say it a lot, like on Wednesdays day and we're
not even talking about nachos.

Speaker 1 (03:16):
But it's just I don't know.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
It's just a line that comes up for whatever reason,
because it's just it's a great line. It's just not.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
Lizzy puts that movie on and when it gets to
like certain parts, there's like two or three quotes from
that thing that I'm that's I'm like, I can't stop.
But this is one of them that always sticks out,
and not a lot of people pick that up. It's
almost like, you know, a lot a lot of people
remember High Fidelity and I was a big High Fidelity guy.
Such a great movie and there's a there's a quote

(03:44):
in there, and I say it. I still say it
to this day when I'm like describing somebody or whatever,
and I was like, you know, I didn't like them much.
Then I can hate him now.

Speaker 2 (03:56):
When that came out, I went through such a huge
like John Cusack face, Oh yeah, I've been gross point blank.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
I never saw it. Never saw a gross point blank.
And I'm a I'm a Cusack fan. I love him.
I love everything I've seen him. Do I love it?
But yeah, no, I've never seen that.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Watch.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
He's also in some of what's a Warlords or something
like that or something where he's a uh any pedaling
guns or something like that or something like that. I
gotta figure that out too, because Nicholas Cage doesn't too.
But don't get the confused.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
Yeah, I'll have to look that up dogs.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Or something anyways. But but yeah, dude, I there's it's
it's a great that's a great movie. But yeah, this
I don't watch this movie very often. I don't either,
It's only when Lizzie pulls it up. I don't mind, Jack,
I don't. The whole movie is kind of good because
we got so much Jason Biggs and like packed into

(04:54):
a short period of time, and.

Speaker 2 (04:55):
I was just kind of like strike while the iron's hot, I.

Speaker 1 (04:57):
Guess, but I was so done with him, like by
the time, you know, he popped up in like a
Jay and zyl Bobs.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
In War in the Yes, Yeah that was a great movie.

Speaker 1 (05:05):
And uh and I was like, I'm just done and
he goes, you know, it's the pie. I guess that.
You know, he can do anything you do, but it
always comes back you're the guy that f the pie.
He's sitting there argument. Uh was it Jason h Vanderbeek because.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Was that Jay and Silent Bob?

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, break back, Yeah, But I mean that's got a
ton of great and.

Speaker 2 (05:27):
You had that whole series of like movies where it
wasn't a John Cusack movie unless he got rained on right. Yeah,
he's standing out there just getting rained on right. But yeah,
I mean absolutely better off Dead was another one, classic
one that he was in. Of course, he was in
Hot Tub Time Machine and one and two.

Speaker 1 (05:47):
I didn't watch it, I don't. I think I saw
the second one like once and I never watched it again.
It just wasn't one of my things. And even when
I see it, come on, I'll stop down for Hot
Tub Time Machine because the first the first one, and
he keeps calling that dude, it goes man, if you
don't talking to the kid, madam, you mind putting on
that fire poker and he pulls up drinking screwdriver. Oh

(06:08):
my god, Oh let's get let's get back back.

Speaker 2 (06:12):
I mean, the beer is delicious, it's really good.

Speaker 1 (06:15):
What's that? Are you picking up anything crazy with the smell?
It smells hoppy, hoppy, fruity. Yeah, so you're gonna have
a lot of hot little fruit up in your nose. Obviously.
This is classic hazy right there. I mean it's gorgeous,
right man, it's so good. I was talking because Lizzie
been drinking a lot of hazey. She always drinks hazy.

(06:35):
But it's like, you know, sitting times, like you know,
we remember me now we had to. We're drinking the
NonStop and we're like even at like Shaneon Brewery, remember that.
And then people just kept giving us tickets. I'm like,
we must have nailed don't know how many one nail back,
but you think about each one is like I don't
know how many sugars or whatever. It's like drinking cokes,
just just nailing cokes back and forth. But of course
they're you know, nine eight percent. Well i'd say most
of her about eight percent. Yeah, yeah, ten percent a

(06:56):
little high, but then that's what you get from house
nothing the other half as I jacked that stuff. I
was a rookie numbers. But yeah, I know this thing
is which is great.

Speaker 2 (07:06):
That they've done is pretty damn.

Speaker 1 (07:11):
So yeah, this was h It's I do like the happiness.
I like the fo I like the mouthfield and the
exit if you want to call it that, like the pineapple,
the fruitiness. But it's not like I'm I'm not gonna
slam this beer. I could, but I think I'd want
to sit there and enjoy it. And also being a
ten percenter, I think I want to ease my way Hazy.

Speaker 2 (07:29):
I don't know why, but I always think of like
it being a little bit chilly, like I would like
to sit back set out back by a fire and
just sip on this and just enjoy it. But then again,
at the same time, I will just sit there and
sip and enjoy it. And Hazy when it's one hundred
and ten degrees outside too, right, I mean, I don't know.
Hazy is a beer for all occasions and all types

(07:52):
of weather and.

Speaker 1 (07:54):
Exception these Yeah, I.

Speaker 2 (07:56):
Mean, I'm just looking for a reason to put it
in my mouth.

Speaker 1 (07:58):
Yeah, well it can gets a ten out of five.
That's awesome out of five.

Speaker 2 (08:06):
I remember seeing it like when it when it came out,
which wasn't that long ago, and then I it kind
of I kind of forgot about it. And then they
had a beer, which what we're going to do reviews
on here shortly. They're peanut butter beers, and I was like,
I'm going and getting those right, And when I'm there,
I was like, you just see that.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
I just see it.

Speaker 2 (08:27):
I was like, oh, yeah, no, you're you're coming home
with me.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
I haven't been out there. Oh I need to make
my way out to Fort Worth again. The last time
I was out there, I went to uh cider Kate.
I guess that was the last time I was out
and so we were like right there. I think we
might even have went to like top Golf and for okay,
and then like I was like, oh, it's right there,
right next to literally you could walk, and then I
talked into going to Barcadia. I was like, okay, day,

(08:51):
yeah Jesus, but yeah, this thing.

Speaker 2 (08:53):
Is I don't even know if that's a top Golf there.
I think that's like a big Shots big shots. I
think it might be. I don't know, but hey, cheers
and mass a good things. I'm actually higher than the
average score four on this.

Speaker 1 (09:08):
Oh boy, let's see where you go with this. Dude,
get pumped up pretty easy, dude, it's just h let's
go four to five. I find that's not going to
get out of control. I find it reasonable.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
I kind of wanted to say four point five, but
I think part of that is just the name and
the can art, right, But as far as just the
beer and the drinking of the beer. Yeah, it's like
a four to two five. I mean it's it's it's
a really good hazy and it doesn't taste boozy for

(09:40):
a ten percent. Right, this is a this is a
get yourself a trouble type of beer.

Speaker 1 (09:45):
Yeah right. They hide it well with the I think
with the hops. The hops work with this. So I'm
gonna bring down the average a little bit so we
get it close to what the untapped averages. I'm gonna
call it a four.

Speaker 2 (09:55):
Uh.

Speaker 1 (09:56):
It's a solid beer. It really is. Like I already said,
the can art's amazing, the the beer is amazing, that
the name is amazing. But yeah, I know it's and
this is absolutely a beer you're gonna get in trouble
with if you don't chill with it. Oh yeah, a
ten percent Yeah, and a tall boy and then a
little bit cooler around here, these these parts. Getting into

(10:17):
holiday season like this, the beer you're asked to gets
drunk and ship on like Thanksgiving and you're like, you know,
picking a fight with the pumpkin pie or something, you
know what I'm saying. So you're getting.

Speaker 2 (10:29):
Problems with this one, you got we're having problems massive
thumbs up.

Speaker 1 (10:32):
Yeah, a great beer. Go and get it.

Speaker 2 (10:35):
And if you haven't seen Saving Silverman, do yourself favor
and watch it.

Speaker 1 (10:38):
Drop it, drop us the line tell us all us
your favorite quote in that movie.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
It's worse.

Speaker 1 (10:42):
This is early Jack Black, you know it really is.

Speaker 2 (10:46):
And Steve's on is great in this and just I
mean Jason, Jason Biggs is.

Speaker 1 (10:51):
Good bringing it back to high fidelity, very early Jack,
early Jack line, and he's fun and that thing again.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
A great movie, but yeah, the left them what travorite
Jack Black movie?

Speaker 1 (11:06):
Let us know? Oh God, as always, Guys on my
Island already guys later is mm hmm

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
