Speaker 1 (00:01):
Wmoe and I Moulla Broadcasting. That probably was that. The
Big Mo Podcast. The Big Mo Podcast is brought to
you by Parma twenty four, Craftspin Electric and Revey Landscaping
and now your hosts Andy Nagel and Big Mo Barrett.
It is hard to believe that it is July ninth.
It feels like this summer just started. Just getting back

(00:23):
from vacation, a much needed break from everything, everyday life,
and now back at the grind. I'm up. We're up
here now live at the Jerry Foulst Athletic Complex for
what we thought was going to be some football practice.
And the background as we're doing the show with the
rain is now starting to fall. So this is going

(00:45):
to be a very short podcast. Andy Nagle is on assignment,
he's gone. Joe Strecker on assignment gone. The campus is
very light. There's an internet outage today. Design they're redoing
the internet mapping whatever you want to call it, and
the internet is down today, so the campus is light.

(01:07):
This is very rare to see the campus as light
as it is today, no doubt about that. I hope
you're having a great summer. The campus has been busy
up until obviously the paving of the lot, and then
yet the summer camps as well. But the campus has
been busy with literally over thousands of kids coming to

(01:32):
Molar High School for any one of the many camps
that they have, not just athletics. Back in the day,
it used to be just athletic camps, and anymore that
has become just as much, if not more from an
academic standpoint, camps as well, engineering, robotics. Just a lot
of opportunities for future men of Molar the grade school

(01:57):
level will come back and really enjoy the campus and
what it's like to someday, you know, dream about becoming
a man of Moeller. So a lot of great things
happening on the campus and you can see in the
hallway and in the classroom a lot of the cleaning
has already been done. Now they're doing some upgrades. Obviously
you've seen the campus upgrades from the lot. A lot

(02:19):
of things going on to get set for opening day,
which is can you believe this football season? The first
game against Princeton at West Claremont. You're ready for this?
Forty five days away? Forty five that's crazy to me.
Forty five days until the start of the Muller High

(02:42):
School football season, which is the ceremonious start to the
school year, right, and that's when everything gets going. More soccer,
Moller cross country. I'm gonna forget one and get in trouble.
I always do. But just off the top of my head,
it's hard to believe that just forty five days from
now we will be kicking off another school year. A

(03:05):
lot of excitement always building around a new school year.
But before that happens, we have another big event called
Victory Day. It's a third annual Victory Day with Muller Football.
We had burtathy Andy a couple of weeks ago on
the Big Mo podcast talking about this. It's a It
gives children with special needs needs ages five to eighteen

(03:26):
a chance to take the field and be a crusader
for a day. You can register for this event. It's
on August second, Saturday, August second, from five pm to
seven pm. Check ins at four point thirty. You can
register by sending an email to Moller Victory Day at
gmail dot com. I'll be pushing some stuff out on
social media as well, but it is and I've said

(03:49):
it before, you know. Carson Hobbs, a good friend of
mine and Notre Dame fighting Iris says it was one
of his favorite days of his high school career, and
that says a lot. And it's a special day where
our men of Molar get the opportunity to give back
to those who may not have those same opportunities or

(04:10):
experiences on a day in and day out basis as
our men of Molar have, and it's just a great
day to celebrate them. It's August second, Saturday, five pm
to seven pm to third annual Victory Day. And congratulations
to the Bathyante family. They stole this idea and Bert
said it a couple of weeks ago. He's hoping other
schools steal our this from us and keep have this thing,

(04:36):
keep building on throughout Greater Cincinnati. It's very very cool.
A light show because this is the time of year
when I say light not much more because the campus
is empty, everybody's on vacation, things are ruling. I didn't
want to do another this week in the Big Mo podcast,
just to kind of check in and let everybody know

(04:58):
a little bit about kind of what's coming around the corner.
Of course, everybody wants to know about the Molar Football schedule.
They open up on August twenty third against Princeton four
o'clock at West Claremont. Then the big game that I
don't think a lot of people are talking about, but
it's gonna be an absolute slobbery knocker. Is that the
word you want to use? Mount Carmel, a suburb of Chicago,

(05:21):
coming down to Ironton the River City to face Molar
in the Ironton Gridiron Classic. That's on Saturday, August thirtieth. Now,
if you've listened to us with any degree irregularity, you
know my feelings about Ironton. I love the place. I
feel like it's extended family. Now, just great people down there.

(05:42):
You throw the fact on now that you got one
of the nationally ranked teams coming to Ironton as well,
and Mount Carmel Moler will have their hands full. But
I can tell you this that the boys love the challenge,
so Mount Carmel will bring there. What I've heard is
being as many as ten Division one commits down to

(06:04):
Ironton to face Moeller in that Week two game at
the Ironton Gridiron Classic. Do yourself a favor and make
that trip. You won't be disappointed. I promise you if
you really want to a pro tip, go down. The
game is on Saturday, So go down. Take an early

(06:26):
day from work Friday, all right, call in tell let's
tell the boss, Big Mo Barrett says, you got the
rest of the afternoon Friday off, Go down Friday afternoon.
It's a beautiful drive, easy out thirty two. Just keep
on driving and you head down to Southeast Ohio. We
will have a tailgate on Friday night that a lot

(06:49):
of the Ironton folk come to. We call it the
Ironton the Motown Ironton Tailgate because a lot of their
fans come out for it because there's a game Friday
night as well. So come down to that and then
wake up Saturday morning, get a feel for Ironton, and
then you got the game in the afternoon at one o'clock.

(07:09):
You get an early departure to head back to Cincinnati
by Saturday night. And I'm telling you it's a weekend
you won't forget. But then you go to week three,
it's easier, right. Nope. Trinity comes to town Mount Saint
Joe September fifth, Friday, and then you can take a
break the following Friday. Correct Nope, in Memphis, or excuse me,

(07:31):
Nashville at the Christ Or Presbyterian Academy in Nashville. I mean,
this is crazy. Princeton, if you want to go back
even a week further, the second scrimmage of the year,
they got Masslin at Massland, which is the last scrimmage
of the year, August fourteenth, and then you got Princeton

(07:53):
the season opener. Then you got Mount Carmel nationally ranked.
You got Trinity coming up from Louisville, Mount Saint Joe,
you got September twelfth at Christ's Presbyterian Academy in Nashville.
Are you kidding me? Then you get a break right
at Saint X then lasal Elder, Saint I's, Saint Ed's, Muskegan.

(08:16):
Whoever put this schedule together, whoever put and I think
I know it is they're insane. Say what you want
about preparing for the postseason, and you want to get
the team ready and rocking and rowing, Say what you
want about that, and there is some credibility to that.

(08:38):
This is crazy. I mean, the football schedule that this
Moller football team plays year in and year out is
cray cray. It's unbelievable. But kudos man. They step up
the boys, don't. They don't take second fiddle to anybody. Anytime,

(09:01):
any field, the Meta Moolar will show up, get off
the bus because it's always off a bus, and they
will play football. I love it, Big big gear coming up.
I'm excited about it. I'm reduced, ready to roll fresh
back from Disney. Have you roaded Guardian Guardians of the
Galaxy yet at Epcot? Say what you want about Disney.

(09:26):
I know there's some Disney fanatics out there. I know
there's some people that just can't stand Disney and everything
it stands for. I know there's you got every and
everybody in between. Say what you want whenever. I don't
care what side of the fence you're on. That Guardians
of the Galaxy ride at Epcot is worth every penny

(09:49):
in my opinion, that you will spend. It's a lot
of pennies that you will spend at Disney. Simply amazing.
Five hundred million dollars. I belie leave is when I
heard that they spent on that ride, money well spent,
very very cool. Check it out. You can go to

(10:10):
YouTube check out the pov of that ride, which doesn't
do it justice, but it gives you an idea a
little bit about the ride. All right, this is I
promise you this is the last show that we fly
with one engine because Andy Nagel I think is back
next week. He's had two and a half week's break,
I believe, but I think he's back next week. And

(10:31):
we have two special guests to kick off the twenty
twenty five twenty twenty six school year of The Big
Mo Podcast next Wednesday. I'm excited about it. As I
get confirmation from those two guests, we will tease it
throughout the week. We appreciate you joining us. This is
a number what we're approach to. Two hundred episodes of

(10:53):
the BMP. It's pretty impressive, not bad now, some of
those have been the best of during the summer months.
Two perch and two hundred episodes. That's a there's a
