W m O and the Moula Broadcasting That probably was that.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
The Big Mo Podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
The Big Mo Podcast is brought to you by Craftsman
Electric and reve Landscaping. And now your host's Andy Nagle
and Big Mo Barrett Nashville. Here we go. I'm excited,
Andy Nagle. As soon as we get done here with
this podcast today, we're gonna start. I'm gonna go home,
I think quickly put on some different clues because we're

(00:27):
going to be packing up BA kind of the truck
here momentarily and all that we have to take down
to Nashville. We've we've gotten pretty good at this, so
we've done it before.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
We have and it's easier.

Speaker 4 (00:42):
I'm not looking forward to the six hour drive or
five hour drive, but it's easier, actually four and a
half five, so it's not that terrible. We gain an hour,
which is great, but it's easier than packing all this
stuff up and taking it in suitcases through the airport and
checking luggage and all that kind of stuff. So we'll
have our our gear and our goods tailgate stuff ready

(01:02):
to rock and roll.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
But you have we still have one more thing. This afternoon.
You are going to make your maiden voyage on the
air with Moeger inside the ESPN fifteen thirty iHeart Radio Studios.
Are you ready for your big appearance on the national
Sure brand of iHeartRadio today at five thirty five. I

(01:26):
think I'm going to join you because I gotta I
gotta be here anyways to pick up my son. I'm
on BO, so I think I'm going to join you.
Me and Maurice Maurice is that his real name? I
think it is Maurice Marieggar. We're gonna be on talking
about the Mueller Sports Day coming up. Andy, Well, we'll
get back to Nashville in a minute. But Thistag is
just around the corner, dude. We're like three weeks away

(01:46):
from the Nasty Boys coming to Big Mo.

Speaker 4 (01:49):
Not even that today is the what is today? The
tenth were fifteen days away.

Speaker 2 (01:54):
That's crazy.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Fifteen days away people, And and in typical guy fashion,
the registrations are rolling in last minute like they always do,
so get If you haven't purchased your ticket, you better
get it now if you want to secure your spot
on that night September twenty fifth with the Nasty Boys.
Moeger will be our MC It's going to be a

(02:16):
great night. Barrett and I have talked about it over
the past few weeks, over the past months, that no
story will be left behind, left unturned. We'll have a
Q and A from the audience, so get your questions together.
They said that they would answer any and all questions
about the great run of the Reds in the nineties,

(02:39):
especially nineteen ninety.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I'm excited about the little things that we're going to
have that night. You know, the Cincinnti Reds Hall of
Fame and Museum will be there as well, have an
apportable exhibit that they're rolling road show that they're going
to bring. Also some Red mascots. But I'm really excited
about what we're going to have. What we're gonna come on,
come on in the studio. We got Nathan Eaton here
rolling in with Gavin Gray putting some day that a

(03:02):
big at his studios.

Speaker 3 (03:06):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:06):
We got that big academic awards ceremony today that happened
down in the gym, but they're coming back from that.
But what I'm excited probably most about, to be honest
with you, is seeing our boy from the Sage doing
the boy Phil Phil doing Uh. He's gonna be like
what you would see a concession stand or what do
they call this, a vendor down the Great American ballpp

(03:27):
all time walking around. We got baseball organ music that'll
be played in the over top of everything else. He's
gonna be handslinging out drinks and and and snacks. And
you got the organ music, you got the Hall of Fame,
just the field baseball. Now, it'd be even better if
the Reds were.

Speaker 4 (03:45):
They're close, buddy, They're three games out as of this morning.
The Mets are gift wrapping it for them, and they
will not take it, no doubt.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Both teams are horrible, right, They're unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (03:58):
Nobody was the lack of consistency with that, with that
Franchi franchises.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
It's frustrating.

Speaker 2 (04:04):
Now the Mets have been consistent, consistently bad, and the
Reds will not take advantage of it. They're five and
five in their last ten games. And and there are
people who said at the beginning of the year, I'm,
with all due respect, I'm one of them who said
this is a five hundred baseball team. They got the
starting rotation, they got pitching. Although they've I think they
look tired. They look very tired. They do not have

(04:27):
professional patch in that lineup. How does Hunt How does
Elie da la Cruz last Friday against the Mets at
GABP with bases loaded, one out? I think there's one out.

Speaker 3 (04:39):
When he came out because the guy but ahead of
him struck out.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
He comes up, doesn't even take the damn bat off his.

Speaker 3 (04:46):
Shoulders, just look looked at every pitch.

Speaker 2 (04:49):
Jesus peats.

Speaker 4 (04:51):
Come onme, man, and how many err are we going
to give this guy a shortstop?

Speaker 2 (04:54):
Well, he needs to go to center field. I think.
I mean, there's an edict right there. He belongs in
center field. It's not an indictment against Elied other Cruise.
He's he's he's got so much potential. But I think
we can agree you being a former baseball coach, he's
probably going to be better served for himself and the
organization in centerfield.

Speaker 4 (05:11):
I think he'll be patrolling Centerfield and Yankee Stadium here
in about a year or two, big big or Dodger
Stadium or Chicago, you know, one of the big markets,
and and they'll put him in the right spot and
they'll end up winning.

Speaker 3 (05:24):
Uh with with Ellie.

Speaker 4 (05:25):
But you know, just a I don't know, we'll see man.
The other The other thing about the Stag that I
was going to point out, and and since Barrett came
over from that other school and he has really elevated
this stag. If you've been to the Stag before, you
you've noticed the huge uh, the v I P, the dais,

(05:46):
the stage and and all that. What I'm looking forward
to is we've scaled it down to almost like a
what what did we call that? A fireside chat where
it's going to be a smaller stage in the round,
now in the round because it'll be half a mood.
It's not in the middle of the crowd, but it'll
be a smaller stage. Basically, you have three chairs, four chairs,

(06:09):
three three nasty boys and mow. So I'm really looking
with a lot of reds motif. It's gonna be really slick.
When you walk into gym, you're gonna be like, oh wow,
this is pretty cool.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
Yeah, I'm excited. Those little things that you and I
always talk about make a big difference.

Speaker 3 (06:24):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
The Nasty Boys in and of themselves are going to
be remarkable. They're gonna be as you said earlier, no
stories off the table like that alone is gonna be fun.
But then you throw all the other things little, the
little things as we call them, that is gonna make
it for a special night. Get your tickets. You can
go to mular dot org. At the top of the website.
There's a yellow ribbon say smaller sports egg. Take your finger,

(06:45):
put it on that little depending if you're using a
mouse or not, push down, click it and then you're
off and running to get your tickets to.

Speaker 4 (06:51):
Stay discounted tickets for our Golden Crusaders and our young
alum So if you're listening to this, check it out.
You get a discounted rate.

Speaker 2 (07:00):
Excuse me an a little bit of cough there. Eddi
Nagel Andy Nashville is gonna be fun. A bunch of
dudes signed up. We had a couple of bail last minute,
but we still got thirty.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Yeah, we'll have thirty plus tomorrow night. Awesome.

Speaker 4 (07:15):
It's gonna be fun. You know, thank you to Sarah
co and the parents and Heighti Dodsworth that you know,
gave us a schedule that it's not just where we
have the alumni event tomorrow six to nine, but then
I think there's a little after party at Morgan Wallins
and then and then Friday is Rippys to Jason Alban's

(07:36):
to the tailgate to the game, and I'm sure there'll
be a postgame celebration somewhere on Broadway.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
We'll find saying I don't want to go to the game.
There's it's a long drive, and we go to the
game and then just come home. Nope, there's plenty to do.
And we put it on a plate for you. All
you have to do is consen right.

Speaker 4 (07:55):
If you love music, this is your city, because it's
not just country Western music.

Speaker 3 (08:01):
Uh We've I've heard it all down there, man.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
And and the band that band after band after band
that plays is is amazing. I mean, just you. You
could have a struggling artist that nobody knows about and
listen to them on any of those stages and you'll
be blown away, blown away at the talent down there
in Nashville.

Speaker 2 (08:21):
It's gonna be will you get on stage at all?
If you had to go to karaoke song? What would
it be? And let me let me, let me quantify
that a country song. Don't give me artists, give me
the song, give me the artist and the song.

Speaker 3 (08:37):
What that's tough man country.

Speaker 2 (08:40):
How about how about a little Billy Ray cyrus Achy,
breaky hard that's got your day written all over it.
You'd be good at that, Lord of Mercy, and you excited.
It's gonna be fun, it's gonna be great.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
It's gonna be great, and uh, you know it's gonna
be hot down in Nashville, so that that's gonna be
a good thing. Our Molkers, you know you you talk
to I just listened to to some of the pregame
stuff and and this CPA team, Barrett, we just played
a back to back defending you know team in Trinity.

Speaker 5 (09:12):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (09:12):
CPA is the same way, I mean, back to back
state championships. Uh in Tennessee. You know they're right now
they're coming off a loss, but you know they're one
and two. But they've they've they've lost to the number
one team in Nashville, the number three team in Tennessee
in Week one against Oakland. You know, they they won
game two and then they lost to Tupelow, which is

(09:32):
the number one team in Mississippi. So they're not they're
kind of a similar schedule where they're playing you know,
all the all the powers down in Tennessee, Mississippi area.
So it's not gonna be a walking the park. Don't
let that one and two record the ceview. It's gonna
be a tough game tonight.

Speaker 2 (09:49):
Right into Nashville Moler High School, planting some more flags
in Nashville, Tennessee.

Speaker 3 (09:55):
Will meet Carrie or Miley.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
I've met I've actually met Billy Ray Cyrus in an
elevator somewhere in West Virginia when I was playing summer
ball and my son said, did you know it was
Billy ray Cyrus. I said, it was only dud Duke
who rocked.

Speaker 3 (10:10):
The ball at Mullet like Billy Ray.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
He said, what'd you say to him? I said him,
what do you say when you're in an elevator. I
don't know what to say. Anyways, Andy Nagel, we're gonna
have a lot of fun. We got a big show
for you coming up. We're gonna be talking Moller Rugby
seven on seventy seven, smaller rugby. Do you know they
had a rugby team in the fall?

Speaker 3 (10:32):
Did not a club? We're gonna be clued in. He's
in the big Tom is in the green room right now,
slapping him down.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
He's got it all over his space. Look at it
back there, he's got ribs on his face. Tommy Gregory,
who could not be here today, made sure he supplied us.
Tommy's on his way back from California ally. Yeah, and
we also talking Moler soccer. We had Carson Lang, the
stud Moler Soccer player talk giving us an update on
Moler soccer as well, or Pat Pillar to post It's

(11:03):
w Moe and the Big Mo podcast.

Covered begins at six thirty Friday.

Speaker 4 (12:27):
Y'all, Now.

Speaker 2 (12:49):
We'll back to the Big Boo podcasts. And I am excited,
Andy Nagel, Andy Nagley, what do you know about the
rugby sevens? Before introduce our guests.

Speaker 3 (12:57):
Rugby is a sport that I am a may is
that on.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Answer the question, you you're diverting the question. I said,
what do you know about the rugby the sevens? And
you start going on some sort of a speel. I'm
just amazed that it's still a sport. Is as much
as they hit each other with zero equipment, that's a
tough sport.

Speaker 3 (13:16):
It's unbelievable.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
It is an unbelievable sport. Full disclosure, because you fail
to ask answer the question.

Speaker 5 (13:21):
I do not know anything you seven, So we need
somebody to enlighten us on rugby seven doma head, yes,
coach of head coach head the varsity coach of the
molar rugby team and the sevens on seven dom educate
the millions and because you guys, rugby obviously he's a
spring sport, but rugby sevens not necessarily the corso again,

(13:46):
not so fast, my friend, it's fall too.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Tell us about it.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
Thanks for having me.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
Yeah, pull that mc go over next to your mane.
You're a little soft spoken.

Speaker 7 (13:54):
I appreciate that. Let's let's teach all the youth and
everybody and all our listeners you know about rugby seven
So rugby seven's is the Olympic sport, right every four
years all the nationalities come together and compete against each
other and it's awesome and that's our big marketing in publicity.
It's when you know, our country gets to learn about it.
It's seventy seven. A lot more space when all your

(14:15):
athletes out there.

Speaker 4 (14:17):
Okay, let's stop right there. What is a typical spring
game when you're in the sport too?

Speaker 3 (14:22):
Yeah? Is it eleven v? Eleven?

Speaker 7 (14:24):
Springs is fifteen versus fifteen?

Speaker 3 (14:26):
Oh wow?

Speaker 7 (14:26):
Okay, a lot of bodies out, Okay, a lot of bodies.
So in the fall we come to seventy seven, you
take more than half those guys off the field and
there's a lot of space and you stay on the
same field, right, same dimensions. So it's also more fast paced.
In fifteens you play for eighty minutes thirty five minute halves,
but sevens is just seven minutes, two minute break and
you're back on in seven.

Speaker 2 (14:45):
Do they do the fifteens because it obviously it's high school.
You get more kids involved, you get more more involvement
into the sport. But I could see the other way
around where you might have a smaller school that doesn't
have enough guys for the fifteens that would be better
for sevens. Like, what's the reason why it's fifteen the spring?

Speaker 7 (15:01):
The fifteen is the traditional rugby right, And honestly, I
got do some research to give you a better answer.
I don't know how seven's came about, so I gotta
go home and do my homework. But like I said,
the Olympic style is seventy seven and it is fast paced.
It works on your conditioning, you're working your skills, you
have no forgiveness and tackles, right, you miss a tackle

(15:22):
and it's going to be try time, and you get,
like I said, you display all the speed and all
the Agilian athleticism. So it's a lot more fun for.

Speaker 3 (15:29):
Some of the case.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
Now, what what is your roster size on that seventy seven?
I mean, obviously you gotta have more than seven with
the conditioning. Yeah, beat each other.

Speaker 7 (15:37):
So a team is technically twelve guys. Okay, twelve guys,
and we're running around twenty in the program, always looking
for more though, you know, we'll we'll accept kids throughout
the whole year. Nine to twenty one is our first
game at Saint X, so we're excited and we'll play,
you know, three games throughout the day. For each side.
We have two sides from A and a B side.

Speaker 2 (15:55):
You run into problems with guys that are playing, especially
the fall that are playing. There's sports that are rugby guys,
but they can't do the seven and seven week seven
on sevens.

Speaker 7 (16:05):
Or seven yeah, seventy seven, we just call it sevens.

Speaker 2 (16:08):
We have roster issues because of that.

Speaker 7 (16:10):
No, it's actually interesting because we get a lot of
spring sport athletes. So we've had lacrosse players volleyball players,
you know, come out oh wow.

Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (16:19):
So the Sour Boys were in the program last year
and they're great kids. But one of them was a
spring player and lacrosse and the other one was a
volleyball guy.

Speaker 2 (16:27):
You know.

Speaker 7 (16:27):
It was funny because Will was great at it, so
was his brother. But Will was getting recruited for rugby
as a sophomore where at state and like UK coach
once talked to them and they won a national championship
pretty recently.

Speaker 2 (16:38):
And what I love about it too is like, you know,
you don't have to have you don't have to be
the biggest dude. I think that helps. But you know,
I've seen I've seen some smaller guys out there too.
I guess different positions that utilize them. But you really
have a mix of some big dudes that look like
rugby players are offensive linemen, and then you got some
little guys too. So it's really it's really not exclusive

(16:59):
to certain body size.

Speaker 7 (17:01):
No, that's a great thing about rugby and fifteens in sevens,
it's not exclusive, right, It's just like who's got that
wanting will to make a play and you get that chance.
Sevens is your speed, guys, We do have some big
guys in the program, which are fun. But you know,
in props do the scrumming in fifteens, it's not Seven's friendly.

Speaker 2 (17:17):
You know.

Speaker 7 (17:17):
We got a few of them out there and they
enjoy and we love having a part of the program.
Like I said, you're if you're looking at.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
I think it's Nick leonard Is being a smaller guy
who played rugby, right, yeah he did.

Speaker 7 (17:25):
He had him for a few years in the program.
He's a great kid. No, he would be great at
seven's right. I'm trying to think of one of our
old props, but don Valiere, you know it's a lineman.
You know, he was a good prop for us, but
he wasn't out for sevens but came out for fifteens.
But like you know, sevens isn't his sport. A lot
more running, a lot more running in sevens track.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
You appreciate what Dom's done. He's really loaded heavy alumni
into the rugby program. I'm looking down now, I'm gonna
maybe miss one. But obviously Tyler Bonger being a man
of moler, Chad brook Bank is my dude. Like, I
don't know if you've ever been out to a rugby practice.
We've miked him up a couple of times. I've been
out there. This dude coaches rugby at his bare feet, so.

Speaker 7 (18:06):
He's got to be the dogs out.

Speaker 2 (18:08):
It's hilarious.

Speaker 7 (18:09):
He's got his dogs out, all the coaches, all the
kids know, you know, and it just probablys I don't know.
He does it sometimes and like that turf is hot,
it's all right.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Plus it's probably not the cleanest. I would wouldn't think either.
His wife as he got as he married his wife.

Speaker 7 (18:23):
Now he's not married, have to worry about available for
all you young ladies out there, come to a practice
where we got some coaches.

Speaker 2 (18:32):
And now Jared Meyer is he an alum as well? Yeah,
he is an alarm so you're loaded with with uh
with alum. Yeah.

Speaker 7 (18:38):
Yeah, we love that, you know, because they just know
the history of the program. They obviously know the traditional
moler so it helps each our core values here.

Speaker 8 (18:47):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:47):
We talked a few weeks ago to Doug Rossfeld, who
won that state championship. Is the coolest freaking trophy I've
never seen.

Speaker 7 (18:53):
Got so much we do it anymore. That's a beautiful trophy.

Speaker 3 (18:57):
We talked.

Speaker 4 (18:58):
We were talking Bengals. But he was more excited to
talk about Moller rugby, I think than you see Spangles
anything Molar football. He wanted to talk about that rugby program.
He's so proud of that man.

Speaker 7 (19:09):
As he should be.

Speaker 2 (19:10):
He's he's not going to answer. We're gonna call him.

Speaker 3 (19:13):
Well, why you do that.

Speaker 4 (19:15):
Let's let's Tom give us a quick because our athletic
department does not have the fall seven schedule up, so
please contact them and get that on the website.

Speaker 3 (19:26):
But give it, give us your give us the fall
here real quick.

Speaker 2 (19:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (19:30):
So we just got back from a trip down to Nashville.
We've been going to Father Ryan every year. It's a
little preseason tournament, get some guys for their first minutes
in action, and get the boys ready for our fall season.
We go nine to twenty one as our first We
play on Sundays all day long.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Okay, so we'll go to You're at Sex.

Speaker 7 (19:47):
We don't have the schedule yet. Then we'll go to Dayton,
go to Columbus and repeat the schedule, and then the
last time we go to Columbus.

Speaker 4 (19:53):
Will be for our state finals and that'll that'll end.
We'll roughly win October.

Speaker 7 (19:58):
Sober twenty sixth.

Speaker 4 (19:59):
Okay, so you're basically a month yeah, September fifteen, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
But like I said, let's let's get our f like
department at least maybe shoot them over those those dates.
So so people that are into the rugby can can
come out and check it out.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
I'd like to see them. Actually, And when you look
up teams for teams on the Mueller website under a fall,
I don't even unless I'm looking at something wrong here,
I don't even see rugby seven.

Speaker 7 (20:24):
Just a club right now for seven's and in the spring.
So that may be part of the reason why we're.

Speaker 2 (20:29):
Not going to.

Speaker 3 (20:31):
Reach it. When you have finished recording.

Speaker 2 (20:36):
Big Time with the Bengals, Doug Rossfeld, we're calling you
on the Big Mo Live Watts Line. We got Dom
de nom ahead, rugby coach here on the Big Mo Podcast.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
We're talking rugby.

Speaker 2 (20:47):
I'm imagining you've probably got a little few things going
on down there at Paul Brown Stadium. But next time
Big Mo Podcast and Big Mo Barrett calls you, answer
your damn phone. You're out of here. He's gone. They
will love message when he picks it up. Off it,
but you got guys like that. Like I was gonna
say Sam, Sam's lacrosse, but Doug Rossfeld that we always

(21:08):
talk about Andy and I do standing on the shoulders
of giants here at Molar who built everything here. You know,
I'm not a Moler alum, but I'm it's crystal clear
to me that there are people here who built this
legacy and everything here, and the rugby program is no different.
Certainly Doug was a big part of that.

Speaker 7 (21:25):
Yeah, he's one of those giants you're talking about. I'm
currently standing on his shoulders. I'm proud too. You know
you talked about the state championship we went on our
second year of program. You know, the story is Doug
got roped into it. Originally, you know, some kids, he
was the cool teacher in the building. He was a
young guy and they needed somebody. They told him originally like, hey,
you need a coach. They found not a school coach,
you know, mister Visagi, Tyler Vessage, he's a ten grad

(21:47):
great rugby alumni as well. They're like, no, we wanted
a teacher in building, you know, to be your coach,
and they, you know, just bugged him first year. I
don't know how much success he had. But then he
brought out his O line. They were the biggest team
on the field none and they were just pushing people
around like nobody's business and they want to stay championship
and second year of the program, and like Doug realized
and he loved it. Yeah, he loved it. I think

(22:08):
I got something heredy, do you.

Speaker 2 (22:10):
Have any rugby gear like you that you represent? Because
you and I go out to the millions and millions
of fans out there across the country, will be in
Nashville this weekend. Are you going to be sporting any
rugby year?

Speaker 4 (22:21):
You know?

Speaker 3 (22:21):
I wish I know the answer.

Speaker 4 (22:23):
A lot of football, a lot of baseball, little basketball,
but yeah, those other sports that really want some love
man dom.

Speaker 2 (22:31):
The edict has been delivered.

Speaker 7 (22:32):
Yeah, well, actually we got an answer.

Speaker 3 (22:35):
Quit pro whatever that is pro cro or we currently.

Speaker 7 (22:39):
Got our BSN shop open for everybody, right there we go,
So we'll get those on socials and get it.

Speaker 2 (22:43):
Yes, please, everybody can get there gear Twitter, go to
Twitter Twitter dot com and then you can go what
is it more rugby on Twitter? I just shared it
the other day. I think, uh, and that's retweeting that
right now? And there's a lot of alumni whatever's worth
they played who often I wish we had a better
I mean, social media is a great way to share it,

(23:05):
but I always get alumni Andy, when I was the
alumni director, and I'm sure in your position now, I
want some rugby gear. Well, you can't go to the
spirit shop and get rugby gear. You got to wait
for these these pop up shops that come rrectly and
get that. So you can follow Mollar, follow Molar Rugby.
It's it's just that Molar Rugby on Twitter. I love
the head photo. You got a Brendan up there. What's

(23:28):
he doing now, Morton Strauss?

Speaker 7 (23:30):
Oh, Brendan sticky, he's finishing up at Louisville. I think
you know he was a dog, a dog he was.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
He was a good player, There's no doubt about that.

Speaker 7 (23:38):
Now everyone's cut that way.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
He was. He was special for you, He sure was, Andy,
You and I are special, but they don't refer. It's
a kind of different sense with you and I. Molar Rugby.
You can go to Twitter account Moller Rugby Football Club
on Twitter, Instagram as.

Speaker 7 (23:51):
Well, Instagram as well. We'll make a post, but we
put that one on our story, so it's not as active,
but we'll do links out for everybody so everyone can
see that mollar gear.

Speaker 2 (23:59):
Around and you can follow their social media accounts for
all their live coverage all season long. They had a
strong weekend at Father Ryan Irish rugger Fest. The boys
battled hard, finishing four and two and gaining great experience.
Now the lads get a well earned bye week before
the regular season kicks off on September twenty first at
that blue school across town. It'll be a lot of fun.

(24:19):
You could follow pillar. That's the post. I think in
October is the Dom de Noma Biblehead game correct where
they get biblehead for that be awesome.

Speaker 7 (24:29):
It's a beautiful bottle, so it's got it.

Speaker 2 (24:31):
It's a big one. It's going to be unbelievable. It's
Doc Danova, Class of twenty eleven, your head roller rugby
rugby coach. Really appreciate you joining us, Thanks for reaching
out and just saying you wanted to. You wanted to.
I don't know I who was you or somebody in
the program who said let's let's hype up the rugby programming.
Andy and I always talk about this like we wanted
to get on the toss mountain for every sport right now,

(24:53):
every listen, it's all about numbers most percentage wise in Atlants.
Mcallis are from LW who's a friend of mine, always
talks about I could get on and talk high school
sports on my show, but the ratings are going to
go down because a larger number of people follow football,
follow baseball, follow basketball. So it is what it is.
But we here at Moller, we want to promote every sport.

(25:15):
It's just the availability of coaches and schedules of that.
So really appreciate you guys reaching out and letting us
tell the story about Molar rugby. It's awesome.

Speaker 7 (25:22):
Yeah, we appreciate me.

Speaker 4 (25:23):
Hopefully we we could talk to them to end of October.
With a state championship in there's sevens.

Speaker 7 (25:27):
Oh, we would love that. We want to do better
than last season.

Speaker 2 (25:29):
That's in and let's talk about that because not every
school has rugby. I think there if I'm not mistaken,
there's only Division of one four programs in Saint X, Moler, EDGs,
and Eyes. Right.

Speaker 7 (25:42):
Yeah, they separate us from the rest of the state
for a more competitive balance for everybody.

Speaker 2 (25:45):
So you got a one and four chance of it.
When the stay championship.

Speaker 7 (25:48):
We're always making the semis.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
It's good.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
That's automatically.

Speaker 2 (25:53):
And you got to get with the student run business
and put something like you know how old is Moller rugby? Now?

Speaker 7 (26:00):
Oh we started to eight have the final four since.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Semi final this many years, consecutive years or something like that.
Because the other schools or the other kids that are grown,
they don't, Wow, that's impressive. I don't know. Yeah, that's
pretty cool.

Speaker 3 (26:15):
Four good schools. Man in that rugby program, those are giants.

Speaker 2 (26:19):
Andy Agele, Is there a time coming soon?

Speaker 3 (26:21):
No, I know where you're going.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I'm not even gonna take that idea. You going out there, Yeah,
you go right, big lineman.

Speaker 2 (26:29):
I wasn't going there. I wasn't going there.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
That is not going to happen. I'm smart enough to
you're not gonna get on the field now.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
I'm smarter than now kick field goals. You've done it before.
I think I'd be okay to school. I don't like
the scrum. I might dig the scrum. I might be
okay with. Not with my knees.

Speaker 3 (26:46):
So you get kicked punched, I tap out with that.

Speaker 2 (26:50):
I was gonna say Saint Ed's, Saint Eyes Cathedral, Shamrocks,
Trinity and Louisville Saint X, Moler Cincinnati s X. Do
we see a power conference form super.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
GCL love it?

Speaker 2 (27:05):
Do you see that happening?

Speaker 4 (27:07):
Man? I wish I really do to go from talking
about it for years, Cleave went all the way down
Lexington and Louisville, I mean super.

Speaker 2 (27:13):
GCS Essentially, that's what we're doing now all anyway without
a conference dedicated to it, like that's none of these
schools have. We have to travel to these schools because
nobody else wants to playoff.

Speaker 3 (27:24):
That would be awesome, That would be awesome.

Speaker 2 (27:27):
That's done Big Moberry on the best coverage of Molar
High School. It's WWE and the Moller Broadcasting Network.

Speaker 9 (27:35):
If you need electric work in your home or business,
give the pros a Cressman Electric call. A family business
owned by Moullargrads. Cressman has won the Anti Super Service
Award fifteen years in a row. Cressman Electric Quality Craftsmanship,
it's in their name.

Speaker 2 (27:50):
It's time to cheer on your Molar Crusaders cross country teams.
They hit the trails for the twenty twenty five season.
This Saturday at nine thirty, it's the Saint Xavior Invitation
at sane Ex High School. They have been training hard
all summer. Now it's time to show what it takes
to be a man of Molan. Cheer on the Crusaders
and let's make some noise. Go big Boat, run fast

(28:12):
in this straw on w mo OE and the Mullet
Broadcasting Network. Welcome back to the Big Bo Podcast. And

(28:43):
we now have a molar span of Moeller from the
soccer team and a captain right Carson Lane Carson, it's
hard to believe now you are at eight games into
the season. Now, it's crazy, that is it? Has it
been hard to realize that it's finally here your senior year.

Speaker 8 (29:00):
Yeah, I feel like it's blown by I remember, I
feel like it was yesterday me playing as a freshman.
But I mean looking at it now, I'm already about
to graduate here in a couple of months.

Speaker 2 (29:10):
And then you've recently committed to UH play Division one
soccer at Bellerman in Louisville. How did that recruiting process go?

Speaker 8 (29:17):
It was it was very stressful, definitely talking to other
schools and the other schools and stuff reaching out, But
then I got in contact with Bellerman and took a visit,
and I love the campus, love the area that it
was in, and their coach really wanted me, and that's
something I feel like I should look into because if
the coach really wants me to play there, I know
he wants me there. So then that's when I decided

(29:39):
that that's where I wanted to go for the next
four years.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
How did when did that recruiting process, specifically with Bellerman start.

Speaker 8 (29:47):
I want to say it was around August maybe of
this past year.

Speaker 2 (29:50):
Yes, that'd be a year ago.

Speaker 3 (29:53):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (29:54):
Yeah. What was that like when you got that first
phone call? I mean it was I always talk to guys,
They always say that first phone call was the most
impactful for wherever they decided to go. Is it the
same way with you?

Speaker 8 (30:06):
Yeah, I mean, well, they weren't my first phone call,
but it was that one when I had the phone
call with him. He's the one that seemed the most
interested right from the start. And after the phone call,
I had to talk to my parents and I was like,
I want to go somewhere where I know the coach
wants me to be there, And we sat down we
had a long talk and then I want to say
a couple months after that is when he decided to
offer me, and then a week later I committed.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
Looking at your schedule this year, you guys opened up
with a three to nothing victory at Saint Here actually
against Saint Henry. Then you went a four nothing victory
at Hamilton. Then you guys hit the skid a little bit.
You lost three or your next four. But we knew
coming into this season that there wasn't top to bottom
the experience that you had in the past. You're a

(30:52):
leader on this team because of the departure of the
academy FC Cinsatio that there would be some new guys
that would have to step up into a role as
a leader, as a captain on this team. What is
your message to some of the other guys to keep
them their head above the water, to know that it's
the end goal. Not this early season, but by molar standards,
what some would consider, you know, five hundred type season.

(31:13):
But what's your message to these younger guys, Because these
younger guys look up to guys like you.

Speaker 8 (31:17):
I would just say that you need to trust the process.
I mean, most of these guys that are playing now
have never played varsity soccer, but the fact that now
they're getting put into the role, and honestly they've been
they've been doing a great job. But I feel like
it just takes time to process through them things and
get some things going and then we'll be back to
where we were.

Speaker 2 (31:34):
And this molar soccer schedule is not a cakewalk much
like the football team. It's it's like bam bam, bam bam,
a heavyweight fighter. This weekend, you got Saint Charles Prep
at Wright State University, another powerhouse in high school soccer.
You filew that up next week with a game at
Northern Kentucky versus Saint Xavier. Then you got Lakota West.
There's no rest for the weary, no opportunities to feel

(31:57):
sorry for yourself. It's like, let's go right.

Speaker 8 (32:00):
I mean, it's it's definitely that's the toughest that we've had.
I mean, like two weeks ago we had springbro then
we had Centerville Mason, and we had Cuff Caath with
our two really good four program or four really good
programs that are in the Kentucky and Ohio as well.
So I mean, I feel like That's the best thing
for us though, is playing those the best competition early
so we know how we are and what we need

(32:20):
to improve on.

Speaker 2 (32:22):
What are three things that this soccer as a team
holistically need to do take that next step this season?

Speaker 8 (32:29):
I would say we need to come more focus, like
to practice and games, more vibes, need to be a
little higher, and honestly, just our team chemistry. It just
needs to get better within the next couple of weeks.

Speaker 2 (32:41):
I think that's I mean, you see, and I just
was just talking about football. You had a football team
with an offensive line that's an experience. It's going to
take time for them to gel. Just like any new team,
especially when there's a little bit of anexperience, it's going
to take time. And as you said, really trusting that
process right for sure. All Right, talk about Saint Charles
ARLs Prep coming up this weekend, a very talented soccer team.

(33:03):
It's been you know, the Mollar Saint Charles show Cincinnati
to Columbus the last few years. A smaller school, but
they got a good soccer program.

Speaker 3 (33:12):
Yeah.

Speaker 8 (33:12):
I mean my freshman year when we played them up
at Saint Charles, honestly had no clue who they were,
but then when we stepped on the field, like they
were like the real deal. And kids were telling me
before like this is a team from Columbus. Now we're
gonna have to worry about later on in the tournament.
And then, honestly, like that's the game I've been looking
forward to the last two years. I mean my sophomore
year and junior year playing them was a dogfight as well,

(33:34):
and then of course last year what happened in the tournament.
So now we're just we just want to get them
back for that tournament and it's just going to set
a fire against that game.

Speaker 2 (33:41):
Fans can check it out. It'll be Moller versus Saint
Charles Preparatory School at Wright State University. Not a bad drive,
not a bad drive at all. Up seventy five and
what is it six seventy five or whatever that is
shooting over towards Wright State. An easy drive. Go support
the boys three o'clock this Saturday against Saint Charles Prep.

(34:01):
Carson Lang, do you have any questions for me? Are
you playing basketball? Jerry? You are? You're going to return
to the hardwood floor. Is Mouler Nation ready for Ka Lang?
On the Hardwood. I hope. So I know your sister's
ready to shoot more T shirts.

Speaker 8 (34:16):
Out though, Yeah, I mean I hope they're ready.

Speaker 2 (34:19):
Does she shoot T shirts out? Is she better at
shooting T shirts than you are playing soccer?

Speaker 8 (34:24):
No?

Speaker 2 (34:24):
Yes, she's pretty good at it. She gets the fans
in games. Carson, thanks a lot for appearing once again.
It's Molar and Saint Charles prep coming up this Saturday.

Speaker 4 (36:01):
I just like I said in the beginning of an

around with with concussions and all that. What he thinks
about more, I'm sure he has an opinion, but but
you know those kids, they love it. And we've talked

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
