Speaker 1 (00:01):
WMOE and the Mola Broadcasting that probably was that The
Big Mo Podcast. The Big Mo Podcast is brought to
you by Craftsman Electric and Revey Landscaping and now your
hosts Andy Nagle and Big Mo Barrett.
Speaker 2 (00:15):
So the rendition of the Big Mo Podcast, Andy Nagle,
Big Mow Barrett is we get set to launch another BMP.
This time Andy, we're a little shorthanded, So this is
going to be a shorter Big Mo Podcast because it's
it's the week that Joe Strecker, our executive producer, goes
on his sabbatical. He is taking a week off in
sunny Florida. How about that? He deserves it. He works
(00:38):
so hard, So he's out and we are. We're going
to play some some interviews here during the show that
you may or may not have actually seen before or
listened to before. Flip Johnson talking about the upcoming Big
Mo Half Court Shootout. Also gonna hear once again from
Josh Katis talking about what more has meant to him
(01:01):
certainly and his philothrampic efforts down in Lexington. It's a
lot of fun and of course it's Losal week homecoming.
Homecoming at Mount Saint Joe, are you recognize Who are
you recognizing on Friday?
Speaker 3 (01:12):
We have obviously the homecoming ceremonies takes takes the entire
halftime along with the band. So we're gonna recognize the
two thy ten rugby state champion team. I know they're
very proud of that. We're going to try to get
a a Doug Rosfeld, who coached that team. We're going
to try to get him on the sidelines for that game.
(01:36):
And we're also going to acknowledge or recognize at the
end of the third quarter the two that will be
at the end of the first quarter the rugby team,
and at the end of the third quarter, we're going
to recognize the two thousand and five volleyball state champs.
It's been twenty years since they won that title. So
we'll recognize Muller Volleyball and those two state championship teams
(01:58):
at the end of the first with rugby, end of
the third with Nard.
Speaker 2 (02:01):
Awesome, Andy, we got a big show. We'll be back
in just a minute with I believe I talked to Joe,
just went to the bathroom, I think, or he's eat
more of those Montgomery and Ridgs. We'll either have a
flip talking about the half court shootout or Josh Candace
when we come back from a break. It's a big
mo podcast. We in the Bowler Broadcasting Network.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
If you need electric work in your home or business,
give the pros a Crassman Electric Call.
Speaker 3 (02:26):
A family business owned by Mullergrads. Crassman has won the
Anti Super Service Award fifteen years.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
In a row.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Craftsman Electric Quality Craftsmanship gets in there now.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
I'm pretty excited to talk about this, and I'm also
excited just stepping into the press box. The prints of pork.
Tom Gregory, who's the presenting sponsor for the event, we're
going to talk about before we mike him up, because
once you get him talking, he doesn't he doesn't shut up.
See how I got your mic down? You like that,
Tommy Gregory, We got flip flip. How did this idea
come about with this whole half court shootout that's gonna
(03:01):
be happy in coming out? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:03):
Really, Dave Keys, you know he works closely over at
All Saints. You know, we we were sitting talking some
fundraising ideas and Dave Keys just brought this one kind
of to our attention that you know, All Saints had
had done, I believe for a few years now, and
we just, you know, as a staff, thought it would
be a great idea you're thinking of. You think about
(03:25):
the you know, alumni in the brotherhood that Mohler has
and just the competitive nature of guys and teams that
you can just imagine being put together when you think about, yeah,
you know, four to six guys on the team. If
we wanted to get into the rules and how this
whole thing, we'll share a little bit about it. In fact,
I'll let you share because you brand in more than
I do. Let's talk about the date. October eighteenth, twenty
(03:48):
twenty five. It's presented by the Prince of Pork Tom
Greg Green Montgomery in the world famous Ribs King. Five
hundred dollars a team.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
That's nothing. You need four or five, four to six
due or do debts, whatever it is, it's dudes, whatever,
it doesn't matter. That's Mike cam up. Now hold on it.
Where's his money?
Speaker 6 (04:06):
You can't figure out the math on that.
Speaker 2 (04:08):
Thank you? Five hundred mute his mic again. Five hundred
dollars A team A twenty team limit. Doors open at
six pm. Event begins at six forty five give me
the rules and give them to me now the Marco Johnson.
Speaker 5 (04:21):
So so best way I can explain these rules without
trying to mess them up. If you see the flyer,
just double check that, all right, So we're going it's
not on.
Speaker 2 (04:28):
The flyer, just saying it should be.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
But we're going for the Tara grew.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
He said, you don't want to you don't want to
just wordsmith a flyer. You want the date, time, how
much it costs, and then click the QR cut car.
Speaker 4 (04:42):
That's why Tara knows what's correct. Correct, That's why you're
on the sideline. She's in the press box.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
Go ahead.
Speaker 5 (04:47):
So yeah, just a quick overview of the rules really quick.
So you get your team, you know, four to six
shooters you want to get. We will go by rounds.
So that first round, I think we're capping it at
twenty teams. So we're that first round. Each team is
gonna have forty seconds, all right, forty seconds to get
a shot.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
At any point the shot goes in.
Speaker 5 (05:09):
It can go in at thirty five seconds, it can
go in at ten seconds. You've made the shot before
the forty seconds, you're on to the next round, all right,
And that second round will drop the time down ten seconds,
so it'll be at thirty seconds, right, same rules apply.
You make the shot before the thirty second, your team
advances to the next round, and we'll drop it. I
(05:29):
believe it was ten seconds each round, with that final
round being at ten seconds, So it's gonna be a
really competitive night. I want to say, if you can,
if you're able to shoot, definitely get your squad and
get out here. We love to see you and full
support of the Molar basketball team, and we'll have college
(05:51):
games on all night. We'll have some food, some food
going everything. But yeah, just an overall fun night for
the Molar community. Super competitive night, and uh, you know,
just really appreciate mister Gregory and Montgomery and supporting us
on it.
Speaker 2 (06:07):
Have you ever seen Tom Gregory take a half court shot?
I have it?
Speaker 4 (06:12):
I have it?
Speaker 2 (06:13):
Is it half?
Speaker 4 (06:16):
I think a one shining Now you're on You're right.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
I'm just thinking you need some background music to talk
about your half court one shining moment, Tom Gregor.
Speaker 4 (06:25):
Years ago.
Speaker 6 (06:26):
But I've been practicing on my free throws and I
have got a pretty good team lined up.
Speaker 2 (06:32):
Oh what about you and Cunningham?
Speaker 6 (06:34):
What about Cunningham's getting the team, Scotti, Rodgers, doctor Rogers. Oh,
he and Cunningham.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
But until he signs up, he's not in the turn.
There's a lot of people that say they're going to
play in it, and is right to Marco. It's a
lot of people sitting there coming out.
Speaker 4 (06:48):
Everybody's saying they got it. You're not here until you
sign up.
Speaker 5 (06:52):
And I did forget one rule one one one very important.
So in that first round, and I believe this is
only that first round, if you're eliminated, there is a
buy back. I think it's a half half the price
at two fifty or something like that. So there's a
buy back in in that first round, but first round only.
So just to put that out there.
Speaker 4 (07:12):
Who's on your team?
Speaker 6 (07:13):
Tom, I'm working on it, but it could be. It
could be the Bob Huggins final.
Speaker 2 (07:18):
Group, Terry Nelson, Arry Nelson, who else? Corey Blunt about
Nick Van Exel, Knicks out of town, Terrence gets some.
Corey is my guy.
Speaker 4 (07:33):
He's a good guy, man, Corey.
Speaker 2 (07:36):
It's the best. That's a pretty good team. Yeah, I
don't think you have what it takes to get them
here to Big Mail. We'll see the Prince of Port.
Speaker 5 (07:44):
I'm wondering how many how many of these state championship
teams what we see.
Speaker 4 (07:49):
Form, there should be every one of them.
Speaker 2 (07:51):
You should, you should. You guys probably won't be here.
Deuce and and Ye should be getting ready for some
big time. But there's a lot of other duders about it.
Phill a roster with you should get them on your team.
One is Carl Kramer. To get a team, coaching staff
team out there. You might do you think Carl could
(08:11):
make it from the free throw line?
Speaker 4 (08:12):
You know what?
Speaker 5 (08:14):
No, I think that. I know from the free throw line.
He's good have court, you know what. I don't put
anything past him. I'm seeing so much.
Speaker 2 (08:23):
I don't like to talk behind people's backs. I'm not
that kind of guy. So we're gonna call. We're gonna
call right now. I'm gonna see if he can actually
make it from the free throw line. He never takes
my call, though, so we'll see it all. Carl Kramer,
he probably would. He's already ghosted me. I've called him
twice a day. He sents me write the voicemail, but
(08:43):
he says he listens to every one of these. But
I'm gonna see if he's going to answer. He's he's unbelievable.
Speaker 6 (08:49):
Your call has been sported.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
It's a big event presented by There's a Music Again
Montgomery in the Prince of Port Tom Gregory October eighteenth,
twenty twenty five. I have five hundred dollars a team
four to six players a team a twenty team limit.
So get your team signed up before it's too late.
Towards open at six pm. He then begins at six
forty five and Tom Gregory, you you can recoup some
(09:14):
of your money back twenty five hundred dollars prize.
Speaker 4 (09:17):
For the winner. I'm going for it.
Speaker 2 (09:19):
You got if you bring those dudes from the Bearcats,
you got a shot. Wes Miller might be in attention.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Have we heard him.
Speaker 5 (09:25):
I don't know.
Speaker 6 (09:26):
If they've got practice then.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
We'll find out Untilbert eighteenth. They could, and Tom Gregory's
gonna take him on one on one.
Speaker 4 (09:33):
You should a flip about this.
Speaker 2 (09:34):

Josh Katis. Josh, very proud of you. This is we
never had this before. In the middle of the pigskin
pick him, but I saw that you called. I said,
we got to get him. On the air. Josh, I
want to talk to you and congratulate you first for
being nominated for the Good Works Team by All State,
which is you are one of I believe eleven FBS
(12:53):
guys NCAA to be nominated for this prestigious award, the
All State twenty twenty five Good Works Team, which is
given a little for people that don't know. This award
was established in nineteen ninety two by the College Football Association,
recognizing the extra efforts made by college student athletes off
(13:14):
the field. Due to time, I can't go into every
single thing you've done down there in Lexington, but Josh,
obviously this award is warranted. You do so much in
the community. Where did all that come from?
Speaker 7 (13:27):
Yeah, And like I said, it is an honor to
be a part of the eleven names that were named
to the AFC Alga Works Team. I think this has
kind of been something that's instilled by me from my
parents and through Molar High School and the connections.
Speaker 4 (13:41):
I've made here.
Speaker 7 (13:42):
You know, Moller, you know, always taught me that doing
work in the community and being active and obviously being
being part of a team and being and doing something
greater than yourself that's that's something that was instilled for
me from a from a young age and through Molar
High School, and it's something I've really taking pride and
(14:02):
carrying on here at the University of Kentucky. I think
I've had four years of college and it's such a
small window of time, but you have an influence, and
you know it's super important that I get the most
out of that. So yeah, I want to thank my
parents and then obviously Muller High School for teaching me
all these great, great things and how to carry myself
(14:24):
on and off the field.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Josh is a senior communication major. Remember the University of
Kentucky football team scored a touchdown on Saturday on track
to graduate this December. A three year letter winner. Lead
on and off the field. When it comes to community
service initiatives, how about this. For the past two years,
Josh has volunteered to participate in Dancing with the Lexington
(14:46):
Stars event. In twenty twenty four, you help raise more
than thirty four thousand dollars for the Lexington Rotary Club
and Downment Fund and Surgery and on Sunday, a nonprofit
that provides essential outpatient procedures at no cost. You're also
involved in so many other things down there, Kentucky's Children's Hospital,
(15:07):
the Hematology on cology clinic, visiting sick children, playing games,
hanging out with them. Well, I mean, this Thursday, Josh,
you're gonna be spear hitting a shoe drive that will
benefit the camp horsing around local nonprofit that enriches the
lives of children whose health is compromised. I got to
ask you, how do you find time to play football
and good to school?
Speaker 4 (15:29):
You know, Luckily I.
Speaker 7 (15:31):
I kind of grinded out my harder classes and all
the ones that were required to take I was required
to take, whether that was through summer school or throughout
the fall in previous years or in the spring. And
you know, I'm luckily enough to kind of have a
pretty easy schedule this fall just from really grinding out
the schoolwork. So, you know, since I kind of don't
(15:53):
have much school going on right now, I want to
put an emphasis on, you know, giving back to the community.
With this being my last year.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Well, folks can still vote for him to get the
top award. The vote for Josh can be done at
ESPN dot com forward Slash Allstate through November tenth and
to receive a twenty twenty five All State Warfol Trophy
recipient and serve as the Good Works Team Captain, recognizing
his leadership, performance and impact off the field. Again, it's
(16:23):
ESPN dot Com forward slash All State and vote for
my guy, Josh Katis. Josh, extremely proud of you. Thanks
for all you do, not just to represent the Wildcats
down in Kentucky, but also Mouler High School. I know
your mom and dad are proud, and we are at
Muller High School as well.
Speaker 4 (16:41):
You're Sair. Thank you for having me on. Go big
MoU There you go. That's Josh Kattis Tyler, Jocelyn.
Speaker 2 (16:49):

Speaker 4 (17:12):
Coverage begins Friday night.
Speaker 3 (17:13):
At six thirty on w MOE and the Mueller Broadcasting.
Speaker 4 (17:17):
Network, backing Big More Podcasts.
Speaker 2 (17:30):
Want to thank once again, Josh Cattis for calling in
talk about that prestigious All State Good Hands Award and
certainly want to thank as well Flip Johnson. That basketball
shootout is going to be fun on October twenty fifth.
Speaker 3 (17:43):
Sounds like a great time. I mean, this is a
new kind of fundraiser that you know when it was
brought to Was it brought to you or c K.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
I'm not sure where it originated. I think it was
about four or five different people kind of came out.
It started it All Saints. They kind of did this
thing and had a lot of success doing it. I
know Tricia Buckley and John Buckley and the Monophos are
like Barrett, we gotta do this at Molar. So it
never really got off the ground until this year. And
it's gonna be fun. Only twenty teams five hundred dollars
a team. It's five hundred total for a chance to
(18:13):
win twenty five hundred dollars. But aside from the money
you could win, it's just it is so much fun.
Montcomery of course, presented by the Prince of Worktime, Gregory Montgomery.
And I've been to two of these at All Saints,
and they are a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Yeah, I'm looking forward to to checking that out. We
won't have a team, but we.
Speaker 2 (18:30):
Can watch it. We will be watching. I'm sure we
will be there in some capacity. Killies.
Speaker 3 (18:34):
I could just feel it just popping past.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
As we speak. That's right, and Nagel, Big Mo, Barrett,
It's Lasal. This is Friday nights at Mount Saint Joe.
I always have to pause because I feel like every
week it's a different home stadium. It's Mount Saint Joe.
This is Friday Moeler and Lasal, A W. Moe and
the Molar Broadcasting Network, Big Mo
