W MOE and the MOLA Broadcasting that probably was that.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
The Big Mo Podcast.

Speaker 1 (00:06):
The Big Mo Podcast is brought to you by Craftsman
Electric and Revey Landscaping and now your hosts Andy Nagel
and Big Mo Barrett.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
I don't.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
Don't laugh, Andy Dagon, don't laugh. I was on my
way into work this morning listening to ninety three three,
which is typically my Christian go to listen to Christmas music,
and this song pops on. They have already started their
Christmas music on ninety three point three. This star I'm

(00:44):
gonna charge him for that promo right there playing Christmas
music they started on. Whoever first sing along with me?

Speaker 3 (00:50):
Andy unbelieved?

Speaker 2 (00:52):
Amy Mac That's awesome, Tobody. It does get you a spirit.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
How much does Mariah Carey get in royalties for this song.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Man, especially since it's on the Big Mo Podcast?

Speaker 3 (01:03):
Absolutely millions and millions listening and joining, is it? That's
what I want to know, Flair for the podcast this week?

Speaker 2 (01:12):
What year did this come out? You know? Does it?
Say here?

Speaker 3 (01:15):
Man, it's got to be twenty years.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Right say here? How about this? That song is the
number one hundred song in the world year round about
that I believe it pitching the spirit, doesn't it? Sure?
But it just gets old. Though I'm good for about
a week and I'm like day, how about your Bengals,

(01:38):
by the way, next unbelievable, believable.

Speaker 3 (01:44):
I am so glad. You know, we had our open
house this past Sunday, so I didn't get a chance
to waste three hours of my Sunday, which is awesome.
But I kept having people come in, Hey, the Bengals
are up the Bengals, or the Bengals are down. The
Bengals are up, the Bengals have tied it in the
Bengal have lost it in thirty seconds. It's so believable.

Speaker 2 (02:04):
It's hard to watch.

Speaker 3 (02:06):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
How about Flacco, though I.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Feel for our boy Doug Rosfeld. I know he's putting
his heart and soul obviously into into that organization, but
it is so difficult to watch him. Flacco, like you said,
hit a career game on something you lose.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
The offense is rocket and rolling. If you would have
told me that the Bengals would put up the numbers
that Flacco and that offense is put up. But if
you're Flacco, no disrespect to Flacco or Joe Burrow. When
you got a guy like Jamar Chase and and certainly
t Higgins on the other side, you don't have to
be a good quarterback. Just throw it within like.

Speaker 3 (02:41):
Army, put it on your numbers man, and you're good.

Speaker 2 (02:44):
Bengal's making some moves. Red's making some moves already, and
we're not even the Red's made a random trade, I think,
or something and for some consideration for a cup of
coffee or something. But you got every day something's changing
here in Cincinnati. But got the bear catch. They lost to.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Sign big names. Sign a Kyle Schwarber who'll hit fifty
plus home runs at GABP that g a BP.

Speaker 2 (03:11):
That's what they're missing.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Sign them, sign them. You keep getting these eh average guys.
And I don't want to dismiss it, because if you're
a pro, you're a pro ballplayer, your dude. But man,
and I've said it in the past, that Reds team
does not look like any of those playoff teams that
were in the playoffs this year, none of them. Not
even a wildcartoon. They just don't look about they.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
They they got a good head, good manager, though they
do big Tito guy, like I think I think if
David Bell t Doo, there wasn't much different from win
loss record. I think David could have done the same thing.
But I love David. How about David, by the way,
what he's done in Toronto.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Toronto, I mean he's uh, he's kind of that behind
the scenes puppeteer. But good for Dave. We've tried to
get him on and we've talked about that too, but uh,
Dave is such a humble guy. But what We'll tie
him up to one of these chairs one day.

Speaker 2 (04:07):
We'll bring them, we'll take them up to Montgomery in
and we'll just have the radio equipment and say, hey,
we're got some roops for you. And oh, by the way,
there's a headset right there too.

Speaker 3 (04:14):
Or we'll just have a hidden microphone and just have
a conversation.

Speaker 2 (04:19):
And Buddy, he's been on before though. Buddy doesn't have
a problem. Buddy shy too though. Yeah, they're all shy.

Speaker 3 (04:25):
Good family.

Speaker 2 (04:26):
Uh, you could always be a Molar fan because they win.
And I always see people on Twitter. It just thinks
to be Cincinnati fan. But there's always Moeller High School.

Speaker 3 (04:35):
Absolutely. Man, It's just we are very blessed and and
We've talked about this ad nauseum as well. Is that unfair, uh,
pressure that's put on our students, our student athletes, you know,
they the fan base expects them to be perfect, undefeated,
win every game, and it's just not fair. You know,

(04:57):
we've talked about this football team, especially beginning of the season.
You know, a three or four lost team, you know,
when you really deep do a deep dive into the roster, makeup,
into the schedule, the strength of that schedule, not a
huge surprise that they lost three games, you know, And
I think they're you know, offensively, they're they're they're clicking.

(05:18):
And I think those younger guys have matured throughout the season,
just like we talked about, Just like we talked about
how it would happen, they would get better as the
season goes on. And here we go playoff game number
one and week two of the playoffs.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
Is there a team in that in your memory, in
your vast the cockles of your brain that needed a
bye week more than this more or football team.

Speaker 3 (05:43):
It came at the right time, right, I mean, and
you know.

Speaker 2 (05:46):
Not just physical, just psychological, just a chance just to
hit the pause button. I know they were doing a
lot of team building things last week, which is a
lot of fun. It's all those guys having fun doing
anything but football. I think it good timing for them.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
It is, and it you know, even with the three losses,
they're still a number two seed. I mean that's that
just goes to show you the schedule that they played
and the and the wins that they had, and the
teams that they played and those teams success that they beat.
You know, it's it's all good. So I look forward

(06:22):
to We're kind of in that cross path, Barrett, where
we have you know, fall sports winding down, you know,
cross country. You know, they finished fourteenth in the state
last weekend. They were one point behind that Saint X team,
you know who finished thirteenth. So we've talked about that
gap closing. Football's making their playoff run, and then winter

(06:43):
sports have kicked off. So it's this exciting time.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
Greg Stopco doesn't like when I mentioned any other sport
besides football, especially when it's winter season. But Greg, the
reality is it's fast quickly approaching, going to say, fastly
quickly approaching, and certainly it's to start talking about some
of those winter sports. Albeit football still playing right. We
know Greg, we know Greg. We love you all right.

(07:07):
We're gonna take a break because Gregor liked us. We

Mo Podcast and we are joined now. It's our pleasure
to have great Shoemaker from Try Statefootball dot Com. The goat, Greg,
Welcome to the b MP. Are you ready to talk
a little high school football?

Speaker 4 (08:30):
Well?

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Do it?

Speaker 4 (08:31):
I am all psyched up for Friday.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Sounds like he just woke up.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I've met up for a while. I'm trying to get
the pipes ready for high school football tonight. Notes Here
in a little bit with Joe Strecker.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Joe Strecker, our own executive producer. We'll let you borrow
him for a little bit. All right, Try State Football
dot Com. You guys do a great job covering as
you always do every year. I want to go over
some of these games and get a little insight from
the expert. But he wasn't available, So I'm calling Greg
Shoemaker Football dot Com. All right, we're gonna talk. We're

(09:03):
gonna go Division one, Region four, right out of the gate,
Greg and number eight Fairfield six and five at number one, Elder,
I don't see this one. I don't see an upset
in the cards here. Fairfield kind of having a rebound year.
What's your take on this one?

Speaker 4 (09:19):
Yeah, a nice job there by Fairfield getting getting to
this round. You know, last week knocking off Mason was
a big deal. For them for the second time on
the season. But you're right, I don't think they have
a whole lot of firepower. You know, Justin Rhaden's done
a great job. He took that job late over there
at Fairfield, and it's got a team that's got a
lot of injuries. That's the other thing about Fairfield in

(09:41):
this one. Their depth is just not not what it
should be against the number one seeded Elder team. I
look for Elder to roll in this and have a
really pretty much easy night until next week. That's when
things get pretty interesting for Elders.

Speaker 2 (09:57):
So Fairfield I led by Justin Rodin what he's what
he did, I should say at East Central, I know, uh,
Doug Ramsey's certainly got caution to the win because all
he does, Justin Roaden, is win. And when you have
a pedigree like Justin Roaden has, you got to be
careful with any team that he leads. He's an incredibly
talented coach, no doubt.

Speaker 4 (10:19):
Yeah, absolutely, Harry, you look at this this whole, this
whole reason Division one reason four. I mean Roodan's won
a state championship, Like you said, at East Central, you
know ours Ramsey's won state championships. First one the brew
winis state championship.

Speaker 2 (10:32):
No you have you had you had to bring that up. No,
why you do it?

Speaker 4 (10:37):
We've been there, but he's been there though we're.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
Still getting counseling for that. And you just had to
bring that up. Number five Winton Woods nine and two
at number four Princeton eight and two. This is a sneak, Andy, Andy,
I'm gonna go Andy. I'm gonna let you pick first.
Then we're gonna get Greg, the goat of high school football,
give his prediction.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I've said us Greg all year. And I'm married into
an Elder family, so and I live on the West Side,
and I've said this, this team is good.

Speaker 2 (11:09):
But we're not talking about you're going back to the older.

Speaker 3 (11:12):
But I'm setting this up. I think the winner of
this Wittingwoods Princeton game has a chance to beat Elder
and and this this is going to be a good one. Man.
I don't know. I mean, you have athletes on both
sides of the ball for both teams, uh in this
GMC tilt. But uh, I don't know. Man, I don't

(11:33):
give me the answer.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
An you sound like a politician. Give me, give me
your give me your pick.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
I'm gonna go with the Princeton Vikings because my mother
is as a proud gram at Princeton.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
All right, Greg Shoemaker, I hope your answer is better
than his answer. Give me your pick and tell me why.

Speaker 4 (11:49):
Yeah, I think I'm going to end up. I mean,
so this case seeing played at Fairfield High School because
Princeton's had that stuffed under their field all season upgrades
to their stadium. So, uh, I think that you're going
to get a big crowd for this game, you know,
I mean Winton Woods, that's his their backyard right there
at fair Field High. So they're gonna they're gonna come strong.
Here's the thing about this game. Isaiah Garrett is back

(12:12):
for Winton Woods. They're fine running back there, junior running backs.
He did not play the first eight games of the season.
Last week he ran for one hundred and seventy five yards.
He is a difference maker in their backfield, and uh man,
that's a that's a whole new element to what that brings.
That opens up everything for Bryce Seawn Brown in the
passing game for Winton Woods. Now that said, you know,

(12:34):
I mean, I still don't trust I don't say I
don't trust Morris Pawns. But the quarterback over at Princeton.
You know, he had six interceptions in that first game
against Moler. This year he's played a lot better. But boy,
I mean, when you're talking about team speed here, he
had a little bit of trouble with Middletown, and I
think he's going to have the same sort of trouble
with the team speed here against Winton Woods. So I

(12:57):
like wint Wood's actually come out on the top of
this week, only only for the fact that Isaiah Garrett
back and they have really good with him at running
back the last three weeks.

Speaker 2 (13:07):
Nobody's asking me who I'm picking Greg. I didn't know
about the running.

Speaker 3 (13:14):
I didn't either.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
That information, that's yeah.

Speaker 4 (13:20):
But I was really answers.

Speaker 2 (13:24):
Uh huh, So I got a little bit of intel. Now, however,
they're both fast. I mean Witton Woods is fast, Princeton's fast.
They're both at times undisciplined, but I think Princeton's I
think Princeton has it. I just think this is their
year to get to that next that next step, that
next phase. I'm going to go with Princeton this one,

(13:44):
but fifty one percent because now you said that about
the running back. You had me second guess in my choice.
So Greg, we will come on next week and say
you were right.

Speaker 3 (13:53):
If Greg, let me ask you this, do either one
of those teams have a legitimate chances the Elder Panthers
if they both went absolutely, yeah.

Speaker 4 (14:04):
Absolutely, I think they do. You know you said something
any of that that I think a lot of people
when the season started didn't expect Elder to be ten.
And oh, they've won a lot, get they've they've been fantastic,
But something about it when you look at him, you
scratch your head and go, oh, that's ten, and oh
you know they got there to think you know, you
know that's great and uh, but yeah, I do think

(14:25):
either one of these teams has a re legit chance.
But again, you know, you guys were with that Moler
game at Elder and they sold the pit out and
I think that game will definitely be another sellout next
week at the pit so and it's hard to win
in the pit against that crowd, you guys, You guys
know how hard it is when when you get ten
thousand West Siders in that stadium, it's it's a special place,

(14:47):
and it's it's a tough place to play.

Speaker 2 (14:48):
All right, this next game, I'm going to go first.
It's Lakota East eight and three coming into the number
six seed, number three, Saintan Xavier seven and two. I
am a writer Hooks fan. I think that kid is
incredibly talented. I understand what st X has on defense.

(15:09):
I've seen it firsthand. I know what they have. I'm
a big Brandon Riley fan, it's my dude. But Rider
Hooks is really good. I'm gonna go with the upset.
I think Lakota East knocks Saint X out tonight. Give
me your thoughts and give them to me. Now, Greg shooting.

Speaker 4 (15:29):
So I'm with you. I'm a Writer's Hooks fan.

Speaker 2 (15:31):
I said tonight, I met Friday night.

Speaker 4 (15:33):
Go ahead, yeah, yeah, Well I'll give you a little
intel here. We are voting for all district teams tomorrow,
all the writers, and my vote for Ohio mister football
will be writer Hooks. Now, that's just my vote, so
everybody else gets their vote. But I mean, the kid's
got two thousand yards rash and he's got five interceptions.
He leaves the GMC and interceptions too. I think people

(15:55):
don't realize that they're gonna throw him on the other
side of that football. And I haven't been sold or
Jackson Fry off season or the same next running game
that's been absolutely uh uh trip. Basically, I mean, I
don't understand why Daniel Bohmer wasn't getting the football. Then't
understand it.

Speaker 2 (16:13):
But they've been using him offensively a little bit more
in the second half, am I correct?

Speaker 4 (16:18):
Yes, yes they are. But I mean even Jacob Brett.
You're two running backs on Sex that came into the
season with more than eleven hundred yards rushing in their careers,
and Britt Harley has touched the ball on offense this year.
I don't understand it. And you know, and the sophomore
kid I liked a lot too, and he hasn't been
running the football whole whole lot either, So they better

(16:40):
run the football because I'll tell you what last week
when Rter Hooks was was lights out. And uh, you're right,
he's a special player. He is a game changer. I
could see that being an upset.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
I don't want to I need to pick.

Speaker 4 (16:54):
I think I'm going to still stay with Stex at
home on this.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
One despite everything you just said.

Speaker 4 (17:00):
Yeah, I just I just think when Lakota East gets to.

Speaker 2 (17:02):
That, you're like Lee Corso. I mean, you give every
reason why to go with one selection, then you go
the other way.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Yeah. I just think in that game, there's something about
being at next if you haven't like you guys are
GCL South School, so you go there once a year,
you play there. I mean you're used to playing at
that stadium, But there is an off factor about being
at Alabamfield at inn RDI Stadium. I think there could

(17:29):
if you have one back quarter to start that game,
which could possibly happen. Uh man, it's tough to come
back there. That's but that's that. If rider Hooks gets
out there and does this, then it could be they're
going to be a handful. But again, I just think
there's the there's the home factor and the off factor
that same X springs and playing at home in a

(17:51):
playoff team.

Speaker 2 (17:52):
Will make it known if I picked my two, that
you're going against me on I'm going on every social
media outlet. I know more ball than Greg Shoemaker tries
to believe it and who's going with this.

Speaker 3 (18:07):
I never picked Saint X, so you know my pick.
I can't do it. I haven't dis dat until that school.
So I am going with East Bias.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
John Kidna pull it off.

Speaker 3 (18:19):
Huh, there you go.

Speaker 2 (18:21):
Here's here's the big one, number seven Lakota West seven
and four versus number two Moehler at the home of
the Crusaders, Mount Saint Joe Molar's seven and three. Andy Nageo,
I know who you're going with. You know who I'm
going with, Greg Shoemaker. If you vote against the Crusaders,
this this interview is done, but I need the facts
and I need him. Now give me your summary of

(18:42):
this game again.

Speaker 4 (18:44):
Another team that's got a running back back and Braydon
Johnson comes out of retirement. I heard that pretty touchdowns
last week, so yeah, I mean, you know, so we
haven't even talked about the weather factor. A beautiful hero Wednesday.
But if it comes down to run in the football, uh,
you know, and that's in the winds blowing around right there. Uh,

(19:07):
and it's going to change the game a little bit
for Mohler, you know. And I'm sorry, but as good
as Matt was last year, people weren't talking about him
this year. We still got twenty four touchdown passes and
only one interception. Donna to has been great again and
he and he knows how to throw the ball in
in bad weather. I mean you think about the last
three years, uh in the playoffs and being up there

(19:28):
in Piqua and and some in in the state championship
game last year that bad weather. Uh, even if it's
bad weather, I still like Moeller in this one to
come out ahead. You know, Jackson Smith's been decent for
West this year. But again the addition of Braydon Johnson
in the backfield that that that changes the uh, the
look of the fire Birds. But they haven't been I'll

(19:51):
tell you another thing about this team. They're not as
hungry as some of the other West teams that Bolden
has had. And I mean this in in an odd
way that I just I just don't feel that, you know,
they're out there, Like the defenses for the Firebirds have
been really good under bold and then this defense is good.

(20:13):
I just don't see that killer instinct in them. And
you know seven and fourteen. And here's the other thing too,
about that they lost their first game ever will not
say e the first game since before COVID in November
or in October two weeks ago. When they lost that
game to East in the regular season finals. They never

(20:33):
losing in October, and I just I just don't see
this team with enough heart. And I don't mean car
I just don't see them being good enough to win
against More.

Speaker 3 (20:46):
And I agree, Greg, we don't have some We got
some pretty good running backs as well that can run
that ball. So if it turns into a running game,
I still like it's going to come down to that
that front, Molar's defensive front, uh is what it's going
to be. And you know, they they kind of showed
a little weakness and a chinking their armor against Elder

(21:08):
when when they ran the ball. Now, now, Kate and
eastep was a lot of that's a lot of scramble
yards on the rushing attack. But that front line and
for Molar has to be stout in order to stop
that running game and to come out ahead.

Speaker 4 (21:21):
Yeah, and look, you're gonna have to be good tacklers,
and I think we'll stop Curley, Cruise, Oler and your
line backing crew. They have to make sure that they
make the stops before guys get into the secondary for sure.
But uh yeah, I definitely think that that Moeller's just
got too much firepower for West and this week.

Speaker 2 (21:40):
There's a little nugget for you. Greg Schoemaker from Tri
State Football dot Com. Mollar seven and one all time
versus Lakota West. Are you ready for this? One? Four
and four and oh into playoffs? How we looking, Marty?

Speaker 4 (21:52):
Not bad, not bad at all.

Speaker 2 (21:55):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (21:55):
So yeah, and again that's that's one of those things
when you have a team down. I had a coach
in grade school and we were pretty decent in sports,
but we He always told us, when you have a
team down and you beat a team, and you continue
to beat a team, you never want to let them
off and give them any sort of hope that they
can beat you, because once they beat it, then they

(22:16):
think they can beat you. So that's you can bring
up a great point there. I think there's there's that
factor in the back of those kids' minds that play
at West that you know, this is moler. We can't
beat moreer so, but we'll see. I I just don't
I just don't think that West has enough firepower.

Speaker 2 (22:32):
Greg Shoemaker, the pride of Springfield Catholic, appearing on the
both Big Mo Podcast and the Montgomery In Countdown to
kick Off, Greg, you were off the hot seat. Thank
you for giving us the time we do not deserve.

Beard and Andy you know, talking football with Greg Shoemakers

(23:58):
a lot of fun. That guy puts in so much
work and effort. Him and Dan Klaskins, I think still
does that certainly aligned with Blitz five and all the
work that they put in. It's really it's a it's
a ton of work and what they do. I don't
know of another city, of course I don't. I don't
investigate it, but I can't think of many other cities

(24:18):
that have a organization or a media outlet that covers
high school football like they do a great job.

Speaker 3 (24:24):
And let's not forget Mike Dyer as well, you know,
talking to Mike and Greg, these guys after the lights
go out. I remember talking to Mike on the sidelines
one week, and they don't get the better, They don't
shut it down to like two two thirty in the
morning Friday nights, man and they do. You know, just
just talking to Greg, it's almost like a college, you know,

(24:47):
insider type deal. I mean, he knew the running backs
was back, this guy, this guy's back, this guy's out.

Speaker 2 (24:52):
Here's that guy with ESPN. I mean we don't know
that that stringer that always what's his name, the bear,
Well he's one of them. But there's a bunch of
the those guys that always get the inside it from
Chester Adam Chef the NFL YEA.

Speaker 3 (25:05):
But they are like that talking to I mean, this
is high school sports and that just goes to show you.
And I'm sure every town has their version of this,
but we all know that athletics here in southwest Ohio
in this corner, and I'm sure Greg knows northern Kentucky
in Southeast Indiana high schools as well. It's not just

(25:25):
the Cincinnati area and going up to Dayton. It's a
wide coverage map that they do a lot of homework, man,
and they know these kids inside and out. It's awesome.

Speaker 2 (25:35):
It's impressive, good stuff, and you've got some good stuff
coming coming up on Thanksgiving. The day before Thanksgiving. We
talked about it a little bit already, but you got
a luncheon for the young ALUMNIMNI and you talk about that.

Speaker 3 (25:48):
We have the luncheon for the young alumni. We have
the five year reunion for the twenty twenty class both
days the day before Thanksgiving on Wednesday, November twenty sixth.
I think that is also failed to mention bear in
the intro. I got this from our head lacrosse coach,

(26:09):
Stephen Schroeder. Lacrosse has their alumni games. It's a yearly tradition.
It'll be on Sunday, November twenty third of this month,
time TBA or everything that's a Sunday before Thanksgiving, it'll
be a Molar. We'll get all the details out on
all our social media channels. So if you're a Molar

(26:30):
alumni or lacrosse alumni, pencil that one in. On Sunday,
November twenty third, they're gonna have the annual alumni game.
And I think and correct me if I'm wrong. Doesn't
Rugby do something on that I believe on that Friday
after Thanksgiving? I think as well. So we'll make sure
we get all that information out. Be a fun week.

Speaker 2 (26:51):
And Motown is back. It's been a little disjointed the
last few weeks, but Motown. It's gonna be wet, possibly,
but Motown. And we'll be back on Friday at Mount
Saint Joe. And say what you want about going to
the West Side for a game, and I know there's
people that just struggle with that, but the tailgating experience
at Mount Saint Joe, we've gotten pretty good at it,
and we know where we're going, Fans know where they're going.

(27:14):
There is something there is a novelty about knowing what
you're going to, where to park, and things like that.
So it'll be great to get motown up and run
and mar Point rocking and rolling, playing some music. Looking
forward to Friday night.

Speaker 3 (27:27):
Yeah, once once you get there, it's a really good setup.
And you know we'll have the m fan will bring
the grills out. They've already talked about putting tents over
the grill area in that area. We'll have MARV, we'll
have some games going on, and we'll have music playing.
And I think we're going to actually televise that more
game in MARV. So if anybody wants to kind of

(27:49):
to hang out in the parking lot and watch it
from there, if they don't feel like getting soaked, I
know you're going to be safe.

Speaker 2 (27:55):
If you're going to be soaking the stadium with difference,
if you're soaking.

Speaker 3 (27:57):
The park, I'd be under a little town. That's true.

Speaker 2 (28:00):
Street. You might have ten opportunities.

Speaker 3 (28:01):
I know you're going to be nice and drive.

Speaker 2 (28:03):
I will be on the like nice and that you
can say that again because I am one that does
not like ray weather. And then Saturday, I'm going to
your second heaven, South Bend, Indiana, Notre Dame and Navy
Night game, hoping to avoid the rain, going up with
a family, the Merding family who's never experienced day a

(28:26):
day in South Bend, the grotto, the basilica, the walk
and all that stuff. So looking forward to coming off.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
That's coming off your weekend at the Big House.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
Listen. I don't do this often, but I've done it
two weekends in a row, and it's been cool man
to see what Jay did up there in ann Arbor.
And what's really cool for for me is just seeing
him interact with the fans and interact with the media
and doing it first in class and doing it with

(28:57):
professionalism that you know, we expect all our young men
of mulher to do once they graduate. And that that
to me was more impressive than what he did on
the field. And what he done on the field was
pretty damn impressive, three touchdowns, one to eighty five Big
Ten Offensive Player of the Week, but what he did
off the field before the game and the press conference
with I was able to post. I don't know if
I don't think I shared this on social media. I

(29:19):
think people were getting a little too much Jordan Marshall.
The probably got tired of seeing it. But I have
a video of him walking outside of Chrysler Arena because
the family and friends meeting Chrysler and then you know,
Jay and myself and his family walked out. And then
once you leave Chrysler, you're you're amidst the fans. There's
no privacy at that point. And as soon as he

(29:40):
opened up that door, there must have been fifty sixty
kids and there were a couple of wacko adults, but
mostly fifty or sixty kids. Jordan, mister Marshall, can you
sign it? And it was awesome, It was so cool,
and he did. He signed every single thing. Now how
long he does that, the more he plays is a
big question, but it was cool.

Speaker 3 (30:00):
Yeah. I mean that's that's a third game in a
row with one hundred plus yards rushing for Jordan.

Speaker 2 (30:05):
So that's got to stay healthy.

Speaker 3 (30:07):
And I've said, you know, if you take the business
away from college athletics, take the nil out of the picture,
take all that out of the picture, take the transfer portal,
and all that the essence of college competition there is
there's no better high man when you I mean, you're
up there with one hundred and eight thousand people, one
hundred and ten thousand. It's awesome. And you showed me

(30:29):
some videos of the intros the outros of the players.

Speaker 2 (30:33):
And I think what you're saying is the patching.

Speaker 3 (30:35):
Try edgentry.

Speaker 2 (30:35):
There you go, and it's awesome. And certain people are
doing everything they can to ruin that. They are man
everything they can get out of their way, but it's awesome.
So yeah, I'm gonna go and DJ Francisco eighty five
Proud eighty five guys gonna roll out the green and
gold carpet for for the mered Inks and myself and

(30:57):
my son, so it'll be a great time. And of
course Carson Hobbs and let him know we're coming, so
give it get a big shot shout out on the
walk from the Basilica into the stadium. So it'd be
good to see Carson hang out with his parents as well.

Speaker 3 (31:08):
Yeah, it's it's good that Marcus Freeman brought that tradition back.
I know it kind of went away the mask beforehand.

Speaker 2 (31:15):
Really I didn't know that, Oh yeah.

Speaker 3 (31:16):
Yeah, yeah, it was it was down for a couple
of years they didn't do the pre game. They did
the walk, but they never.

Speaker 2 (31:21):
Did it was the head coach that decided that would
be a good mass.

Speaker 3 (31:25):
I don't know, he might be in purgatory right now,
Brian Kelly probably, but Marcus has brought that pregame mask
back in traditions at Notre Dame. So it's it's really
good to see when you're a Notre Dame fan.

Speaker 2 (31:38):
Pray for good weather Friday.

Speaker 3 (31:40):
Night, to that crodo and light a candle man.

Speaker 2 (31:43):
That's Andy Nagle Big Mo Barrett on another rendition of
the iHeartRadio's Number two podcasts. That's what Joe Teller was say. Anyways,
of course, if he was gonna like say we'd be
number one, why say two? Maybe two's a little more regalistic.
It's the Big Mo podcast on wm OE and the
Muller Podcasting Network combing bout

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
