Speaker 1 (00:01):
Line, The Line Line, Eye Line, Bride Di Lara god
Nor Bray.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
Today we got none other than Christian from Meadows. Christian,
you've been on the podcast plenty of times. You're a
good friend. I've showered in your house before, not this house.
It was your old house, uh, which probably means I've peed,
which means I've probably peed in your shower before. Just
so you know, I want you to know that there's
that kind of level of intimacy between you and I.

Speaker 3 (00:51):
You are lucky and everyone's finding this out in real time.

Speaker 4 (00:55):
You're you're lucky though, that you didn't have your toilet clogged,
because Mason has a nasty habit of doing that to
people like I should have. I think there's out like
a bigger insurance policy when when we came to you
stay at your place.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
That's true, you gotta sign a waiver for real.

Speaker 2 (01:15):
I'll be honest. I think it's less of my problem
and the fact that there's so many toilets out there
that don't flush very hard.

Speaker 3 (01:21):
It's like that, what's that bit? Have you seen? I
think you should leave Tim Robinson show. Yeah, when they're
when you're like the plumbers come over and they're like
it's turbo time and they start running around. It's like
a law firm ad but they like swap out his
toilet with another toilet where the hole is only big
enough for farts. So you just stand around all day

(01:46):
and you got to go to the bathroom really bad, dude,
when I need a good laugh, that's that's like, that's
cute that I love that.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
That's good. Well, if you also wanted a really good laugh,
you could just imagine Mason completely naked for some reason,
standing on the edge of a tub while water overflows
in a toilet, and not just water, there's turds floating
in the water. That's that's floating on the floor, and like,

(02:15):
what is going on?

Speaker 3 (02:19):
You were at the door? Was he like yelling for you?

Speaker 4 (02:21):
Like no, he was. He was making like no no, no,
no no no no no no no, like like just
frantic noises.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
They're trapping you in there.

Speaker 2 (02:32):
Yeah, I felt like a prisoner in the bathroom. It
really was. It felt like a sick joke was being
played on me. But it was one of those things
where like I don't like, I think everything else was
serene outside of that bathroom. And so for Colin to
just walk in and see a nightmare happening before his eyes.
It was just like what the fuck.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
Whenever you like you have to go to the bathroom,
like at somebody else's house as you don't know their
miller will or it's like a new girlfriend or like
a partner and you're like, oh, man, what do I do?
Do you do? Like the sink trick where you're like
you turn the water on you just you were done
that one.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
No.

Speaker 4 (03:12):
I thought, you know, you're gonna like jam it down
a sink or something like that. I was like, that's
not that's not how you do it. Yeah, So you
turn on the water so you don't hear the farts.
Is that what you're trying to say? The farts?

Speaker 3 (03:21):
Yeah? Man, if they don't have a fart fan in there,
like I'm stressing.

Speaker 2 (03:28):
Yeah, that's like that reminds me of a good story
I always heard. I think I heard it after my
grandpa died. But my grandpa and grandma they got married
like in the late nineteen forties, and literally their wedding night,
my grandpa had to go pee and it was the
first time he had like ever. I think, like, like,
you know, it was like the first time, like they

(03:48):
had been like in it's just them too, in like
a room or whatever, and then he has to go pee.

Speaker 3 (03:53):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
And so he was so embarrassed by the fact that
he was like basically peen in front of her, that
he stuck his foot in the toilet and pete on
his foot so it wouldn't make any noise.

Speaker 3 (04:07):
There's like at least like seven different ways I could
think of, like to do something better. Yeah, just off
the rip.

Speaker 4 (04:15):
Your grandpa was smart. I can't believe that that he
would have chose to martyr his own foot. And that's a.

Speaker 2 (04:22):
Truly I don't imagine being that embarrassed that you're just like,
I'm gonna pee on my own foot.

Speaker 1 (04:27):
You know.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
It's like it's funny when people talk about like their ancestors,
and you know, they talk about how like heroic or
brave or courageous or wonderful their ancestors were. This is
the ancestor I get to deal with, Like it's the
pen on one's foot, because that's the ancestor.

Speaker 3 (04:44):
I get names aside.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
Maybe he just had really bad athletes.

Speaker 3 (04:47):
Foot names aside. We were moving into town home one time.
It was me and three other guys. There's many four
of us in a two bedroom, so like sharing a room,
sharing a room. Okay, we are moving in and I'm
talking like all of our family members are there like
helping us, like just get it done, you know I'm

(05:08):
talking about. And in the middle of like this moving
that we're doing and like boxes going everywhere, people in
and out, sweating, like we're in New Orleans and it's
just like awful. My new roommate was like, I gotta
take it down and we were like, hey, like there's

(05:29):
nothing here, and he's like.

Speaker 4 (05:32):
I gotta go.

Speaker 3 (05:34):
And he goes upstairs poops and there's no toilet paper,
so he gets in the shower no to like clean himself.
But there's also no shower curtain or like anything at Dude,

(05:54):
it's like we're still just like moving stuff in because
then eventually we're moving stuff into the bathroom were the
heck is he And it's just like, why are you wet?
Bathroom soaking wet? Why did you get rid of that roommate?

(06:15):
I actually love him to death, but that was a
very that was a shock. You gotta go like what
is A what is happening? And b what is about
to happen.

Speaker 4 (06:26):
Dude, that's a that's a rough situation to be in though,
when there's no toilet paper and then you get in
a shower there's no shower curtain or towels. So now,
oh gosh, that's why.

Speaker 3 (06:43):
Are you soaking up? Why is the bathroom so? Oh? Man?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
This is like a mini hurricane just hit that particular room.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Yeah, yeah, wow. Everybody else is like, are you sure you.

Speaker 4 (06:59):
Don't want to name names because I'm kind of curious.

Speaker 3 (07:03):
Mmmm. What's the yes, yes, I'm sure.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
All right, Well, enough of our pooping habits and pooping stories.

Speaker 4 (07:14):
We're not cutting that. That's awesome.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
No, no, of course we're not cutting that.

Speaker 4 (07:18):
Of course, that's what people tune in.

Speaker 2 (07:21):
Christian What what's what? What's up in Meadows these days?
Obviously the new album came out last year, and uh,
y'all are you know playing some shows here and there
with some of those new songs. But yeah, what's what's
going on in the life of Meadows?

Speaker 3 (07:33):
What you know about?

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Well?

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Thank you? Yeah, man, it's been a really you know,
bitter sweet season for us. As you know, you might
know or might not know, we had lost our dear
friend and brother Brandon. He was our bassist last September,
So like literally going into furnace Fest last year that

(07:57):
same week was when it had all happened. And then
like you get everybody that's like in our scene and
in our community, in our backyard, like it was such
it was like the exact thing that we all needed
to like just get through it at that time. So
like I say all the time as like a derail,

(08:19):
but like furnace Fest is like a truly, truly special
community and like it's a special thing and like if
anybody has ever thought about going that's never been, like
it is worth checking out. And then I'm also like
super biased because I'm apparently the unofficial mayor of furnace

(08:40):
Fest according to Austin Visser. But with the undertaking, it's
like you know so many people. I'm like, I literally
live here from here. But man, it's just like what
a killer community that like really pulled us through the

(09:01):
toughest time of our life, which like really helped us
to decide, like man, we just got to double down
and like not like let Brandon's passion and his memory
fall to the wayside, and like we're gonna do it
all the more intently and like with that much more passion,

(09:24):
that much more intensity. And yeah, we had put out
a show. Well, we did a like a like a
farewell show, like a benefit show to help with some
of the costs and things of that nature kind of
that you incur with that to help his family. And
it was funny because we had planned it for January

(09:49):
and in Alabama, as you may or may not know,
we get probably one good snow a year and it
literally shuts down the entire city. So we got our
one snow the day of the show, and we had
all gotten to work play to like go ahead and see,

(10:10):
like all right, we're gonna be the last ones to
not do this thing, so are we doing it or not?
And eventually, you know, just due to like safety concerns,
like they literally had like a state of emergency because
of all the ice on the roads and stuff like that.
But we were all already there and like had everything

(10:31):
miked up and ready to go to do a live record.
So we put out a live album just a couple
months ago, and Face Down was kind enough to back
it and you know, help release it for us. So
we got to play a lot of old songs that
like Brandon was an integral part in like you know,

(10:52):
crafting and writing for the band and just kind of
like had this really cathartic moment that was such a
sweet thing. I think I think it was kind of
needed the way that it happened to do all of that,
like just us in an empty room, and then we
were able to reschedule it and like do it with

(11:13):
everybody there that like, you know, you want to like
let it be something where like, yeah, as much as
he meant to us, like we understand how much he
meant to so many people, and like it means so much.
Hardcore is a weird thing, man like, and I try
to explain it to people that like aren't in the

(11:33):
scene at all. They're like that that's screaming music.

Speaker 5 (11:37):
You do that scream o stuff.

Speaker 3 (11:38):
And I'm like, I'm not even gonna get into that,
but I'm like, you just gotta you just gotta be there,
like you gotta get in the room. It's like it's
such a it's such a special thing and like a
very cathartic experience, like screaming at the top of your lungs,
like just like body to body with people and like

(12:03):
you don't know them at at first, and then all
of a sudden, like you just kind of, you know,
become best friends by the end of the night. Or
like you know, someone trips and falls and everyone's like
help them up kind of deal.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
Or you know when when somebody when somebody falls in
the pit. You know, what it reminds me of is
remember in grade school when somebody's colors would fall on
the floor and immediately everybody dog piles to like help
pick it up. Was that not your school experience?

Speaker 3 (12:32):
Colors?

Speaker 2 (12:34):
Like you're like, you're crans whatever, Like you're yeah, sorry,
Like you're.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
Like, look, hey, we call them cranes, all right, you
got some crayons, like the crayons, all right, the crayons,
you know what I'm saying. But I was like, your colors,
is that like an affiliation about that?

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Was is that not? You're like elementary school experience?

Speaker 5 (13:01):
Though?

Speaker 2 (13:02):
Like I remember being in first grade and if somebody's
like colored pencils fell on the floor, everybody jumped down
immediately to like oh.

Speaker 3 (13:08):
Yeah, And like the younger you get, the more it's like,
oh wow, look at how innocent or like how belligerent
these you know, hooligans are.

Speaker 4 (13:18):
But Mason, I'm just I'm impressed because I only did
that for the girls that I crushes on.

Speaker 2 (13:22):
So just see you only you never have a truly
an altruistic moment.

Speaker 4 (13:29):
No, no, I don't believe in altruism.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
That's right, clearly, clearly. But anyway, the reason why I
bring that up is it like that reminds me of
how like if somebody falls in the pit, everybody's immediately
crashing into like make sure this person is fine.

Speaker 3 (13:48):
I knew it, cow, I just knew you were going
to show up at some point. It's like, wwe SmackDown,
like busting. Yeah, this is why.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Why do you look like you're amish? Now? That beard
is so bad?

Speaker 5 (14:11):
My hair up in that beard.

Speaker 2 (14:13):
Is ridiculously amish. Do you look like you're amish? Now?

Speaker 5 (14:18):
What's up?

Speaker 6 (14:19):
Guys?

Speaker 5 (14:20):
Christian?

Speaker 7 (14:21):
I sent you my EP and you never texted me
at any response or comments on it.

Speaker 3 (14:30):
But you didn't text me.

Speaker 5 (14:34):
You mind have I'm just messing.

Speaker 6 (14:36):
Justin Jones from Idol threat never never commented.

Speaker 7 (14:39):
I have a running list of people I sent our
EP too and people that just never commented.

Speaker 2 (14:43):
Remember when I said it was probably one of the
best undertaking albums and songs I've heard.

Speaker 5 (14:49):
Yeah, it's just part of the podcast.

Speaker 3 (14:51):
I am the last one to reply. I want you
to know that. I want everyone to know that those
onto my voice listen to me, because I will say
I'm actually the worst Texter and that is very on par.
I was like, man, I didn't freaking reply.

Speaker 7 (15:09):
Chris Chris from Chris from Fall Star didn't comment on
it or give any feedback.

Speaker 5 (15:16):
Justin from Idle Threat didn't give back or comment on it.
You you two black sheep. You guys are the best.

Speaker 3 (15:22):
I appreciate your feedback. It's good. Oh, I know.

Speaker 5 (15:29):
I don't care about your opinion.

Speaker 7 (15:34):
He's trying to Christian, just straight up straight from audio
feed tell me too highlights.

Speaker 4 (15:40):
Yeah, there we go.

Speaker 5 (15:40):
Did you get Skyline Chili?

Speaker 3 (15:42):
Dude, I I wish the whole time I had Skyline Chili.
I will tell you that much. So no, I did not.
I don't know how close the actual closest one is
to Champagne Orbana Illinois. But if somebody knows, hook a
brother up.

Speaker 5 (16:02):
But uh, Andrew Andrew knows.

Speaker 3 (16:05):
You know, he'd have to bring it in though, because
he's coming straight from since coming from the mother Ship,
the Mothership?

Speaker 5 (16:14):
Did you did you get to see God's Eyes?

Speaker 3 (16:16):
Dude? So God's Eyes did a what you know, cornerstone
kids would know as a generator set, but on the
porch stage, and it was killer because I also didn't
think I was going to get to see them, because
I it's funny because I'm in this like face down
furnace fest, like mixed group like chat or whatever.

Speaker 6 (16:41):
Yeah, you only you only comment when you need feedback.

Speaker 3 (16:43):
On your right. But no, I had to run to
the defense there because it was like it was Friday,
and God's Eyes were supposed to play on Friday apparently,
but that wasn't what they had like I initially agree
to or something, and so they're like, yeah, God's Eyes

(17:04):
dropped last minute, unexpected bummer, and I was like, yo, yo,
yo yo, they're playing Sunday. Everyone take ten chill pills.

Speaker 7 (17:12):
And then I had seen that pop up in that
chat too, which was odd because it definitely showed them
on Friday, and they're not ones to just like not do.

Speaker 3 (17:21):
Some Yeah, no, they but then they actually showed up
a day early and they just played a pop up
show and it was awesome, awesome.

Speaker 7 (17:30):
So So the running the running deal here is why
why I'm asking about Audio Feed and then God's Eyes is.

Speaker 6 (17:35):
Because the Undertaking, God's Eyes and Meadows had.

Speaker 7 (17:38):
Been trying to like plan like a three band tour
for probably a year and a half as far, and
it comes down to, like us in twenty twenty the
spring of twenty twenty four, the Undertaking said no to
it because we had we got some bad advice. And
then you guys said no to our recent East Coast run,
which we had even like planned in the cities based

(18:01):
on where Stone wanted to go. So we played in
New York because he's because Stone has been trying.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
To get to Brusble for forever. And then you guys.

Speaker 7 (18:10):
Said no because you got the Confessions of a Trader show.
So that just cracks like it's like one of those
things where it's like we're gonna make it happen eventually,
but also like maybe not.

Speaker 4 (18:19):
That's three different places in the country. That's hard to
get you know, three different bands from three very different
geographic areas together.

Speaker 3 (18:28):
Well, it is, but it's also like why it's so
appealing and also why it's so like and know, it's
just kind of fun. To like realize that. And also
you're out in the middle of literally nowhere colon, So.

Speaker 4 (18:41):
Yeah, that's right, you guys should it's easier.

Speaker 5 (18:47):
It's easier.

Speaker 6 (18:48):
He always says, no.

Speaker 4 (18:50):
Yeah, we're bad that discussion before.

Speaker 3 (18:52):
We've got out of this road.

Speaker 7 (18:57):
Uh No, it's not as hard as to see because
essentially the Undertaking and God's eyes, we would fly to
the south and God's Eyes would either drive or fly,
and then we'd do like a home town run with
Meadows borrow their gear. And then we would go up
to the northeast with Meadows and we would borrow their gear.

(19:18):
You guys would Meadows would fly or drive up there,
and then everybody would either drive or fly to the
west coast and then they would use our gear. So
it works out actually in theory if you do like
these like five six, seven day runs. But then I
don't know, Christian, you got a kid, Stone's got a kid,
Armando's got a kid, Evan's got a kid.

Speaker 5 (19:36):
We've got a bunch of kids, and it just makes
things more complicated.

Speaker 3 (19:39):
But what's cool too is we've actually had so many
people fill in for different spots. We've been debating on
doing a meadows like A and B doing two tours
at the same time.

Speaker 4 (19:56):
This is our varsity and our junior varsity crew.

Speaker 2 (20:00):
This will destroy This will destroy you. Has that going
on right now? They have two separate bands?

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (20:04):
Wait what Yeah, there's two separate bands, Like both of
the lead guys kind of I don't I think there
might be some drama, but they like both wanted to
still use the moniker This will destroy and they still
are like making music separately, and like that's what they
agreed to. They're gonna make music separately, going tour separately.
So they just have like they both hired out like
different bands, but they're still like it's still this will

(20:25):
Destroy You.

Speaker 3 (20:26):
They're playing what's that what they're playing the same songs?

Speaker 2 (20:32):
Yeah, yeah, same songs and it's just two separate guys.

Speaker 4 (20:37):
They it's like it's like it's it's like all those
bands from like the nineteen seventies that that made it
really big and then they broke up and then they
there's basically three of the exact same band, exact same
like set list because one of the members from the
band is like still doing all of the tunes. It's

(20:59):
kind of wild.

Speaker 6 (21:02):
That just happened with Oasis where they Noel Gallagher.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
I think that's how you say his name.

Speaker 7 (21:07):
Just played like a bunch of his solo stuff and
his brother like sat out from some of it, and
I guess people were like, no, we want to hear
the stuff that they put together.

Speaker 4 (21:17):
Take it open.

Speaker 6 (21:18):
He's starting junior eye.

Speaker 2 (21:21):
Yeah, you're old, man, you're really old.

Speaker 3 (21:26):
We gave him the smallest shirt we had and like
swallowed him whole and now he's like almost as tall
as Armando.

Speaker 6 (21:35):
That was that was Jack. Jack had got this small shirt. Henry.

Speaker 5 (21:39):
I actually never got him my shirt.

Speaker 3 (21:41):
We'll have to change it. That's all right.

Speaker 7 (21:44):
Well it's a Meadows podcast. So anyways, this is Austin
from the Undertaking. Oh here's Jack and he's wearing a
God's Eyes shirt.

Speaker 6 (21:52):
Yeah Jack, I love you guys.

Speaker 5 (21:57):
Good to see you, Christian love dude.

Speaker 4 (22:01):
Back at you. Get back to your Yogi studio.

Speaker 6 (22:05):
I don't know how to I'm going to just click session.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
It's not letting me get him out of here.

Speaker 4 (22:14):
I texted him beforehand and I said, hey, just know
if you want to pop on, Nielsen's gonna be with us.
He said, call me when it's someone good that tracks,
that does track, that does track.

Speaker 2 (22:38):
What a guy? What a guy? Well, so you were
talking a little bit about yeah, like just the furnace
fast community and how important that's been for you, especially
in this season of life. I mean certainly that that's
been the case for Colin and I right, Like, I mean,
obviously I think you would probably consider us a part
of that. And yeah, it's just it's yeah, I've peed

(23:00):
in your shower. That's how close of community we've had.
I haven't. I didn't clog your toilet though.

Speaker 3 (23:05):
Maybe one that's the next step, you know what I mean.

Speaker 2 (23:07):
Yeah, maybe then I'll be living with you.

Speaker 3 (23:10):
Hey man, bring it on.

Speaker 2 (23:12):
And I don't know, I don't know what would what
it would take after that for me to be able
to sleep in the same bed with you, But you know,
maybe we can make that happen.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
So you have to kick Milo out, oh oh.

Speaker 2 (23:22):
Milo and I will fight to the death.

Speaker 4 (23:24):
Or you'll just cuddle that much harder. It's true.

Speaker 3 (23:29):
Miss that dog Jen it's like upset. She's like, you
don't like you don't hold me like that. I'm like,
he's fluffy, he's a labordoodle. Of course, I don't hold
you this way.

Speaker 4 (23:42):
If you can throw your hair like Milo, I'll hold
you like that as well.

Speaker 3 (23:51):
That's so funny.

Speaker 2 (23:54):
So what else is going on in the life of Meadows?
So obviously again album last year? I know you've played
in some shows even outside of Furnace Fast, outside of
the one off show for the benefit show. Yeah, like,
are you got like obviously you're gonna be playing Furnace
Fest again this year, but any other shows that we
could maybe expect is there? Are you guys even like
starting to write again? Like where are you all at

(24:16):
right now?

Speaker 3 (24:16):
Yeah? So all of that. Yes, you know, we're gonna
be up in Missouri for like chains Unchained Fest here shortly,
and then I mean we're doing Cable Fest at University
North Alabama. That's gonna be sick up in Florence, and

(24:37):
then the Furnace Fest is right around the corner. There's
a pretty big gap there because we are writing pretty
hardcore right now, like we are.

Speaker 2 (24:47):
You're writing hardcore, like hardcore songs, I hope.

Speaker 3 (24:50):
So oh that's actually also a good point because yes,
I mean that does that fits? But yeah, so we're
we're trying to get some things nailed down and finished up.
I have any like release dates yet for anything, but
we are pumped and I would be I'm go ahead

(25:11):
and like shoot my shot call it now. We will
plan to play a new song at Furnace Fest.

Speaker 4 (25:20):
Nice. That's gonna be cool.

Speaker 3 (25:23):
So I'm hoping we can have it out before then.
We got to hit the freaking pavement. But we're gonna
play it anyway because it's dude, they are. It's just
it's just fight riffs. So we'll we'll have a good
time explain just so that you don't need to know
the song, like be involved in it, all right, all.

Speaker 4 (25:47):
Right, So it's gonna it's gonna start swinging as what
is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (25:51):
Yeah, We're gonna just come out swinging. That'll be that's
the goal.

Speaker 4 (25:57):
That's fun. That's fun. Would you have ever imagined growing
up did you go to the original furnuce Fest. I
don't know if I. Okay, so I was you would
have pretty young, right.

Speaker 3 (26:09):
I was eight and nine roughly around there, okay, So.

Speaker 2 (26:17):
And there were no eight nine year olds that were
going at that furnace Fest because there weren't people old
enough to have eight and nine year olds, right.

Speaker 3 (26:23):
And now, there's a lot of eight and nine year olds. Yeah,
there's a lot of like just dad's Yeah, but like
I love that it's so cool.

Speaker 2 (26:35):
Maybe that's why it's called Furnace Fest is like the
only people that go are the kind of people that
know how to actually fix a furnace or.

Speaker 3 (26:43):
That know what a furnace is. Yeah.

Speaker 4 (26:46):
Yeah, that's a good point too. What do you ever
imagine that you that that little Birmingham would be come
kind of like this this because it's not just during Furnaceast,
I mean like we'rek playing stuff like that brings in
some crazy good talent as well. Yeah, would you have

(27:08):
imagined that that Birmingham would kind of become this place
where there is this strong community for this kind of music.

Speaker 3 (27:18):
I would say it's really funny because like the twenty
you know, two thousand and nine twenty ten era of stuff.
I mean there were so many like sick metalcore like
packages that came through, and like my first band and

(27:42):
Gideon were kind of like starting out at the same time. Obviously,
Gideon went global and we were just like a Devil
Wars product ripoff, you know, had a keyboard and everything
is pretty sick. But it was just like somebody like
church show and like you really felt the community. And

(28:02):
then like there was like a weird gap where it
kind of I don't want to say like it died out,
but like I mean it really It's something that Blathe
from No Cure and I talked about because Blathe has
been a huge proponent of the like Birmingham scene kind
of thriving in the way that it has and like

(28:24):
keeping it going. But I would say, like a conversation
that we had that I think about all the time
is like, dude, like nothing feeds the youth right now,
Like nothing is no no parent is going to drop
their thirteen year old off at a bar downtown like
in the you know, in a pretty sketchy area. But

(28:45):
like back when we had all these like different like
church shows or like legit venues that like had a
passion like to bring that type of music like to
the city, it was like it's pretty prevalent. And then
that's something that like kind of always stuck with me
and like where I got bit, you know what I mean.
So I was like, this is what I want to do,

(29:07):
and like I've just never let that die. And then
when Furnace Fest came back around. It was like I mean,
like in the most like punny way and cheesy, you
know analogy I can, and like it lit the fire
that like really just I mean took over. So it's like, no,

(29:33):
I couldn't have imagined it being what it is just
because like maybe I'm a little small minded in that regard,
but b I remember what the community like was when
it was like happening, and like people just went to
shows because there were shows, and like it didn't matter
who played. I literally would go to shows and I

(29:53):
didn't know who was playing until I got there. Yeah,
you know, I like my first my first show is
at in a parking lot at a place called Smoothie
Joe's's a Smoothie Storre that was like outside my neighborhood,
but they held shows and so like my first show
was like I am terrified. But back then they were
fixed till Tuesday from here removed the veil who I

(30:16):
believe was on face down at some point kind of
like southern you know metal like and then like some
you know local legend like Hope Sounds like Hope Gate
City Slash Mathra slash, this endearing like stuff like that,
like that show being in a freaking parking lot and

(30:37):
then seeing like all In and Seeing with Blood Comes
Cleansing and Dead Man and Reno and like so many
like crazy talented bands in a smoothie shop parking lot,
Like I mean, there were probably six spaces, and they

(30:59):
like set the the gear up on the sidewalk, and
like people just showed up in droves that I just
imagine that.

Speaker 4 (31:10):
I imagine that meme, like the smoothie owner comes out
and smacks the band and says, this thing is gonna
sell so many smoothies.

Speaker 3 (31:20):
And it did. That's the thing, dude, it did. That's
where I had my first red Line energy when I
was technically underage, because it's like, don't drink this if
you're under eighteen or pregnant.

Speaker 5 (31:37):
I don't care.

Speaker 3 (31:38):
I want caffeine. And it wired me. I'm gonna passed out.
I don't even know, but not because they sold it
to me, but someone gave it to me. Anyways.

Speaker 4 (31:52):
Rebellious, Hey man, I love it. Is that smoothie shop
still there?

Speaker 3 (31:59):
They're not. It's actually now, shoot, what is it now?
My grandpa still lives in the neighborhood. I think it's
like a hardware store or a spa or a nail salon.

Speaker 2 (32:16):
What I love how it could be anything. It sounds
like there is a.

Speaker 3 (32:24):
Jack's across the street. Now, uh, some some good breakfast
for all the fernies that come into town. Fast food.

Speaker 4 (32:34):
You know, that's that's the cheapest fast food I think
I've ever had.

Speaker 3 (32:38):
Get you a good biscuit in the morning, the steak biscuit.

Speaker 2 (32:42):
Bro I like some old guy and that you watch
the old guy just making them right in front of
the there's.

Speaker 3 (32:48):
The old guy making them. And then you've got the
old guys that like show up every Friday at like
the butt crack of dawn, and that's like they do that.
And I'm like, dude, you guys.

Speaker 4 (32:57):
The sausage one saw, such biscuit is like the little
like sausage like link biscuit.

Speaker 3 (33:05):
Oh so the smoke sauce, smoked sausage, those ones. So
connecta connecta is kind of like the thing down here.
I didn't realize that. I thought it was like, oh,
you want sausage. I was like, yeah, I want connecca.
And I always thought growing up it's kind of like
from the South, we call like Hey, do you want
to coke? Yeah? What kind? It'sprite, right, It's like everything's coke. Well,

(33:26):
everything was Connecca as far as like smoke sausage went.
But Connecca is actually a county in Alabama where they
make that sausage. So it's like you can get Connecca
sausage like at the store, and but like that's all
we've ever had growing up. We're not getting like, you know,
Jimmy Dean's or whatever the heck eltse you know CONNECTA.

Speaker 4 (33:50):
That's cool. I didn't know that well about that time.
Another thing, people who are going to Furnace Fest what
they do, According to Christian Nielsen, what should they do
outside of the festival.

Speaker 3 (34:08):
So outside of the festival is a good point to
make because they're coming here probably for the festival, which
means their day is going to start rather early and
end rather late.

Speaker 4 (34:26):
Or if you come like a day before or something
like that, or you have an extra day in town before, you.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
Grab a day before or get an extra day afterwards.
It's funny because like outside of Furnace Fest, I'd be like, hey,
you should go check out slows and like go walk
around and like do a little tour, but like if
you're at Furnace Fest, you're already checking that off. So
it's like that's really cool because it's actually a registered
like National Historic landmark. Yeah right, but I would go

(34:53):
check out the Vulcan. It's a I think it's the
world's largest iron statue. We can go up it in
an elevation and like you get a really cool like
killer overlook the city if from really high up.

Speaker 4 (35:05):
It's a cool statue. Were you going to do that?

Speaker 2 (35:06):
But then it like costs like ten bucks each.

Speaker 4 (35:08):
I think it was like twenty bucks when we did it.

Speaker 3 (35:10):
No way, it's got to be close to ten. But
you also get to go through the little museum that's there,
or you could, I think, just do the elevator bike.
I think last time it went they gave us like
a whole day pass with it.

Speaker 4 (35:23):
Oh, so that was cool.

Speaker 3 (35:24):
It was like, Okay, you can come back later or whatever.
But it's like, okay, what are we trying to see
this at night as well? Like that's I guess kind
of what you would do, but it's worth seeing and
like it's worth like going, Like I think if you're
going to be in Birmingham and you have any of
time and you're just kind of curious. Another thing that
is honestly amazing. I haven't been in a couple of years.

(35:46):
I don't know like what updates they've done, but the
Civil Rights Institute and Museum incredible. Is so powerful and
like you can do like different walks like throughout the city.
That's all downtown. But I mean, if you're really kind
of strapped on time, it's really just going to come
down to food. Baby, you gotta get some good Southern food.

(36:10):
So like, if you want something fast food, do Jacks
for breakfast and get Milo's at some point. Get a burger.

Speaker 4 (36:19):
Yeah. That glaze that they that they do on those
those burgers is something.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Else, dude. I live for it. And then there's just
like dude, like sauce or like Mose barbecue, like some
different barbecue joints and get some Alabama white sauce with
your pulled pork or your you know, pulled chicken, and
get some smoke wings. Dude, if you want my wings
Alba that white barb Yeah, it's like a white barbecue.

(36:46):
It's like really peppery.

Speaker 4 (36:47):
I'm gonna cut you off before you make a dirty joke.
You horror best hole in the wall, like the like
the local joint that everyone should should at least try
once because you would never expect it to be amazing.

Speaker 3 (37:06):
Dude, I'm like a big Cajun food Like I love
Cajun fiel. I lived in New Orleans for a few years.
There's a spot called the Rugaroo that's like a folklore
like sasquatch.

Speaker 4 (37:25):
Esque us attention.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
Cajun being if you will, and they are so good.
That's a good spot. That's like a good hole in
the wall. There's one downtown. I think they just opened
one up, like in Miss Davia Hills. If somebody's like
paying for a really nice hotel when you're in town
or an airbnb. But dude, my wing spot, Like get

(37:50):
smoked wings at mos Moe's Barbecue, the smoked ones with
the white sauce, or if you want like just like
good you know, get the combo meal type wings. Bro
wings are king. I think wings is spellal to z
and R is just the letter R and then king

(38:13):
wings are king. You get what's called sloppy sauce. I
don't know what the freak it is.

Speaker 4 (38:19):
Alabama got Alabama what sauce? We got sloppy sauce. What
else you wrote?

Speaker 3 (38:26):
Sloppy sauce.

Speaker 5 (38:30):
You get?

Speaker 3 (38:32):
I don't know. It's like the King sauce. You said,
the comeback sauce you got?

Speaker 2 (38:39):
You got that? Yeah, you got the comeback sauce. You
got the cream cream Pie sauce.

Speaker 3 (38:43):
Dude, comeback sauce is actually at Jackson. I'm not joking this.

Speaker 2 (38:49):
This reminds me of Midwest gas station does real like sheets.

Speaker 4 (38:55):
Like come and go. Oh that's the one quickie stop.

Speaker 3 (38:59):
Yeah, they know what they're doing.

Speaker 4 (39:01):
They know what they're doing. It's the Pumping Mart for real.
Those are real names.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
I think there's a Pumping Munch too.

Speaker 4 (39:09):
There is a Pumping Munch. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (39:12):
I can't do this.

Speaker 4 (39:15):
It's wild stuff. Oh man, well good, Okay, So we've
got some hole in the wall places for people to
go check out. Because I don't know if people understand
this or not, but like Southern hospitality definitely rings true

(39:36):
when it comes to places that to eat, and I
mean every time I've gone I one of the things
I'm most looking forward to. Yes, bands and stuff like that,
but it's the food, baby, dude.

Speaker 3 (39:50):
Also, if you're like at Furnace Fest back forty, like
literally right across from the pond. They have a killer burger.
All right, they have a killer burger.

Speaker 4 (40:03):
Probably cheaper than what you'll get at the Fest two.

Speaker 3 (40:07):
I don't know, man, I had way too many of.

Speaker 4 (40:11):
Those bad luck burgers. Yeah, were good.

Speaker 3 (40:15):
They were singing their.

Speaker 2 (40:16):
Veggie burger is incredible.

Speaker 4 (40:18):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (40:19):
Did you'll see when Plea for Perging played and they
were shooting him with a slingshot.

Speaker 4 (40:23):
I literally ate one in the front row. It was great, amazing.

Speaker 3 (40:26):
I wish I could have been in the crowd at
that point. I was That's probably the only time I've
ever been sad to be side stated.

Speaker 4 (40:32):
You could have jumped into the crowd. I guarantee you
he would have thrown on right at you.

Speaker 3 (40:36):
What am I sinking?

Speaker 4 (40:37):
Yeah? I should have coached I should have coaxed you out.

Speaker 3 (40:41):
What a fool.

Speaker 2 (40:46):
Yeah. I still remember that Colin you gat you ate
a bite, then you gave me a bite, and then
you gave it to a kid.

Speaker 4 (40:51):
Yeah, because he was like can I have that? I
was like, here you go, dude. He's like heck yeah,
and he's like eating it up on stage. It was awesome.

Speaker 3 (40:58):
That's like the coke commercial from back in the day
with like me and Joe Green here, kid, that's awesome
a burger.

Speaker 4 (41:10):
What what me and Joe Green really should have been
doing is, hey, kid, what the hell are you doing
down here in the tunnel?

Speaker 3 (41:17):
Where are your parents?

Speaker 4 (41:19):
You're not supposed to be down here. There's there's guys
doing coke down in this locker room because it's the seventies.

Speaker 2 (41:27):
Give don't mind the needles. Don't mind the needles.

Speaker 3 (41:29):
He gave him coke.

Speaker 2 (41:33):
Quite literally, comcial.

Speaker 4 (41:36):
Coke knew what they were doing in that commercial.

Speaker 3 (41:39):
There's guys dont coke down.

Speaker 2 (41:42):
Like I'm realizing right now, there's a It's probably a
daily occurrence that a Southerner will say, I'd like a
coke pepsi please? That is ridiculous that like that almost
kind of I don't know if to I don't know
if I should like that or be a little annoyed
by that.

Speaker 3 (42:00):
Well, like it would at least, I mean, I'll give
you the benefit of the doubt, because it could maybe
say I'd like a coke and then they would probably
say is pepsi okay? And then they're like yeah, or
they would say I'll have a sprite, like Coke is
just soda and in a lot of those regards, it's like.

Speaker 2 (42:20):
Who did How did Coke just get so blessed with
having their name be synonymous with a soda pop and
not because from Psi dropped the ball on.

Speaker 4 (42:30):
From Atlanta and they were before Pepsi and they're like
a mainstay in the South.

Speaker 3 (42:37):
I went down a rabbit hole on YouTube and like
saw this whole thing about how Pepsi was like acquiring
you know those like Taco Bells, Slash a and W
restaurants Slash Pizza Hut or whatever, and they were like
combining all those to like save costs because they couldn't
compete with Coke and that was the stores that they

(42:59):
could sell Pepsi in.

Speaker 4 (43:01):
Yep.

Speaker 3 (43:03):
That whole thing was just to compete with Coke.

Speaker 4 (43:06):
Yeah, there's even like this deal where like at one
point Coke had Pepsi like dead to rights and like
pepsis like, we'll sell to you, and Coke is like, nah,
well we'll we'll make sure that you stay in business
so that we have someone to compete against so that
we're not a monopoly. They did that too. That's wild,

(43:29):
all right, Well, good should we uh should we talk
about your your artists that you should like on paper,
but you don't.

Speaker 3 (43:40):
Should we could? We can?

Speaker 4 (43:43):
We we we can and we will.

Speaker 3 (43:46):
All right, how's this going?

Speaker 6 (43:47):
So?

Speaker 3 (43:47):
Just am I? Am? I shooting from this? All right? Look,
I figured i'd try and keep it to like furnace
Fest bands for the most part, okay, just because I figure,
you know, it might be a conducer to the audience,
you know, if you will for sure, and the series
that we're upon. But number one and again, caveat. I'm

(44:10):
gonna lay this out before I say any of these
bands and before everybody comes at me with pitchforks. These
are bands that I should be into.

Speaker 8 (44:19):
I'm just not not bands that I don't like, right,
These are bands that like, Hey, on paper, I've got
a lot of reasons to like that, to love that.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
Yeah, I'm just a bystander.

Speaker 4 (44:34):
But for whatever reason, it never it never quite tickled
that inner part of your brain.

Speaker 3 (44:39):
Yeah, So stretch Armstrong easily.

Speaker 2 (44:44):
Oh it's a great pick, the.

Speaker 3 (44:46):
First one on there for me. And it's like I'm
sitting there watching them at furnace Fest even and I'm like, man,
this is really cool. Like they got a lot of
energy a lot of people are bought in, Like I know,
Johnny's like huge into them, and so like I was like,
this is really sick. I should be into them, and

(45:08):
I just that's like a prime example where I'm like,
you know, here we are.

Speaker 4 (45:17):
Yeah, dude, it's it is. It's wild because everyone's like,
oh man, yeah, I like worship at the feet of
Stretch Armstrong or something like that. Right, But for some reason,
there's always those bands that like, you try and you try,
and then you go to a live show and you're like,
all right, this will be what converts me, and it
just you know, for some reason, it never quite touches you.

Speaker 2 (45:38):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 3 (45:39):
Yeah. I mean to the point where I'm like I
would love to see them again. I'm just just not
into them.

Speaker 4 (45:48):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (45:49):
Maybe I listen to too many podcasts and maybe that's why
this list is so weird for me.

Speaker 2 (45:54):
That's all right, that's all right, another one.

Speaker 3 (45:58):
So am I the only one going? Or do you
get have a list as well?

Speaker 4 (46:01):
Yeah, we've got we've got lists. We we haven't we
haven't divulged them in a long time. I don't think
are we.

Speaker 3 (46:07):
Gonna are we gonna round Robin or is this all
just to pick on.

Speaker 4 (46:09):
Me if you're a couple.

Speaker 3 (46:13):
I mean, no worries, I just.

Speaker 2 (46:16):
If you feel I feel like you're kind of just
taking over right now in the three song. I mean, look,
I understand.

Speaker 3 (46:21):
I just want to make sure I'm not running your show.
You're good, all right. Second, and this really spawned on
me from a clip I saw the other day, But
haste to day really really okay, and again, should be
into them a lot of like the tertiary bands like

(46:44):
that have been with them, or that sounds similar to
them or same label, like people I know that are
into them. I've just probably heard like half of one song.

Speaker 4 (47:00):
Ever, honestly, Oh so you haven't given them like I try,
is what you're saying.

Speaker 3 (47:05):
But it's like I've like checked it out and I'm like, okay, yeah,
like I I see this and I see what's going
on here, and like I just haven't, which will take
me to the next point that I'm gonna make, and
that's for Silent Planet.

Speaker 2 (47:20):
Ooh all right, interesting.

Speaker 3 (47:24):
Because like I love Garrett, like I love the guys
in the band, and like I've we've played with them
several times, and like I've watched them several times. I'm like, man,
they're freaking talented. Yeah, and I'm like, oh, dude, Garrett
so like philosophical with his lyrics and all this, and
so it's like, all right, we're so we're going down

(47:45):
the checklist of like reasons I should be really into
this band. Yeah, And I don't know if this is
like an ADHD, like you know, mannerism. I've been told
it it might be, So if you'll familiar with any
of that, go ahead and chime in here. But I

(48:06):
like it's the same reason I haven't started playing Breath
of the Wild, but I own it because I know
the first time. I I'm so like particular about my
experience of the first time I'm doing something that it's
like I need to have three hours at least to
set aside to start doing this. So it's like the

(48:30):
depth of Silent Planet has kept me from approaching Silent.

Speaker 4 (48:36):
I get that. You know, it's interesting because I think
Silent I think for both Mason and I, Silent Planets
actually on this list as well. Now, their most recent record,
I think kind of changed our tune a little bit.
But for the most part, Silent Planet's kind of been
one of those bands for both of us that were, like,
we like them, we like everything that they stand for.

(48:58):
We think that, like lie, they sound just about as
good as any band we've ever heard in our entire lives.
Like the sound production, live sound production is incredible, right,
But for some reason, like they just don't quite tickle
that thing on the inside of our brain that makes
us fully obsessed or whatever.

Speaker 2 (49:17):
So yeah, I would say that was certainly true up
until this last album. This last album I got into
enough where I think they are now off that list
for me, But up until this album, certainly they were
on that list.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
I love that you've pulled them off the list. That
sounds that's like that gives me hope. Yeah, yeah, all right,
sixty eight.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Oh really it's another surprising one.

Speaker 4 (49:42):
It is surprising.

Speaker 3 (49:43):
Another one that like we've played with I think like
four different times or at least three, and like I'm
a huge like you know, Josh Stoggins fan, and like
loved The Chariot and like was into Normal Gene before that.
So it's like all the boxes are checking for some reason.

(50:03):
But I think I just like I don't know, and
it's like there's a song even that like. And that's
the other thing. I couldn't like name any of the songs,
but it's like we've got a song on a playlist
that we listened to, like when we're at the lake
and we're on the boat and it's freaking awesome and
it sets the mood and we're in the vibes. It's great.

(50:24):
But like, I just haven't been like, you know what,
I'm just gonna throw on some sixty eight. But it's
like everything else is like, yeah, dude, I totally should
Yeah dude.

Speaker 4 (50:38):
Yeah, it is a weird thing like that though, But.

Speaker 3 (50:41):
Like again, total respect for like all the bands on here. Yeah,
I should be into these bands. I think it's more
so just me not having time and like I say,
not having time but not giving myself time. I think
you make time for things that matter to you. Yeah,
but again this is also bands that I'm not into

(51:01):
that I should be because it's not like I'm sitting
here doing like a deep dive this and that.

Speaker 4 (51:07):
Right, you know, so is the last one the undertaking.

Speaker 3 (51:11):
I thought about it. I thought so hard by saying that, dude.

Speaker 4 (51:16):
I think you should just say it and leave it
at that. And and then we'll ask all say it
and leave it at that and and then.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
All right, well, it's funny because this is the one
band that's actually not a furnace fest band. I bet
they would be a furnace fest wishless for a lot
of people. But being as an ocean, oh.

Speaker 2 (51:37):
Yeah, I could see that would make sense. Okay, I
can see that. I can see that, Like.

Speaker 3 (51:44):
The first Meadows tracks came out, I think the same
month that Dear God came out, and being as an
ocean and like I mean from the jump, everyone's like,
you guys must be really into them. They'll sound a
lot like them. Hey this, uh you know all that.
And it's like, bro, I don't even.

Speaker 4 (52:04):
Think that will completely turn you off of a bit
like this band.

Speaker 3 (52:14):
You know. It's funny because like I always I would
hear things like that from people, and I'm always like,
what part of our sound made you think that? Not like,
not like in a rude or meanway, but I'm like,
I'm very curious, Like I've heard a lot of spute
several times, and I'm like, I don't hear a lot

(52:35):
of spe Where did that come up? And I'm like
I don't. I'm like I love a lot. They're on
my They're on my intuo band list, you know, you know,
big influence, like for me, I think writing style, but
like maybe that's part of why that came about, but
I don't know. But yeah, I would say stretch haste

(53:01):
to day, Silent Planet sixty eight and being as a
notion or bands that I should be into, I just
am not at the moment.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (53:11):
But as as you both alluded to and mentioned, there's
time baby, that's right, just playing.

Speaker 4 (53:18):
There's been a lot of bands like that. I think.
I think another band for Mason was Touche More.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Yeah, that's probably true. Yeah, I remember, I just didn't
give them a chance.

Speaker 4 (53:32):
I remember at one point Mason's like, Nah, for me,
what it really is actually to start with, though, is
your band name. If I think your band name sucks,
I will not give you a chance.

Speaker 3 (53:41):
Dude. I'm I'm kind of there. I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 4 (53:44):
Yeah, like if you if if you name your band
after like one person's name of the band or something
like that, or if it's just like really corny, I'm
just not into it at all.

Speaker 3 (53:54):
Yeah, Like the undertaking to this so lame.

Speaker 4 (53:58):
Who has who has punk? You in their freaking name.

Speaker 3 (54:04):
But well, were you gonna say, Mason?

Speaker 2 (54:09):
I was just gonna Actually I don't even remember, but yeah.

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Okay, Oh, judging a book by its cover? You like
to do that?

Speaker 5 (54:16):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (54:17):
Yeah, I well that and I actually really, I actually
really like people that judge books by the you know,
by the cover. Like I love when people like have
judgment and they like want to voice their opinion about things.

Speaker 3 (54:27):
Yeah, you know, it's a weird it's a weird balance
because I'm not saying I'm not saying there's not gold
in that book, but I am saying I appreciate when
people put effort in on like the creative aspect of
like what you're putting out as you're like first impression,

(54:52):
like your your front door if you will, to the
band or to the book. You know what I'm saying.
Like marketing and advertisement It's always been really interesting to
me as well, like what do colors mean? What do fonts?

Speaker 2 (55:06):
Do?

Speaker 3 (55:07):
You know? When you see like is this too crowded?

Speaker 4 (55:09):
Is this like you know, yeah, no, it's a really
good point. And I think you know, I'm not and
I'm not trying to butter your your bread here, but
what I am gonna say is Meadows does a very
good job of this. Like you guys have a very
distinct style about you all, like outside of the music,
you know what I mean. But the very first time

(55:29):
that Mason or I heard you was like the music
video where you're all dressed in white, right, like, oh cool,
the name is escaping me right now the depths, and
immediately we're like, all right, this is this is pretty cool.
And then you know, the Meadows font and everything like
that is a very distinct, very very interesting, very very cool.

Speaker 2 (55:51):
Well, even the name itself. You know, I got when
I think of Meadows like I think of maybe more
of an indie band, right, which is certainly like you know,
you guys have elements of that. But you know, then
then you get the hardcore stuff and you're like, I
love when there's a band that you know kind of
has this like good little you know, like I feel
like me and Without You did that well, right, Like
they had this cool name, they stylized it really cool,

(56:12):
and there were the hardcore elements and India elements that
I think, like like when I think of me without
You for whatever reason, like that indie hardcore vibe that
they had going on, Like that kind of makes sense
with that name.

Speaker 3 (56:24):
Yeah, right right, which is funny because that's like my
all time favorite pin So Wild.

Speaker 4 (56:30):
That's good. That's good. Yeah, I like I like that.
I like that whole aspect about you guys, and you
continue to do it and everything you.

Speaker 3 (56:38):
Do, and it's definitely like a focus that, like Armando
really executes well for us. Every design we've got, all
the fonts, it's all Armando, every shirt, every album, everything
that you see that we have our name on, Armando

(56:59):
has practically hand drawn. Ah, and it's I mean amazing.
Like he and I, you know, we used to like
room together at a single wide trailer in Gardendale, Alabama
back in the day, and man, we would like.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Plug any toilets and or did he shower right after poopy?

Speaker 3 (57:19):
No? No, But there were plenty of plenty of good stories.
We can get into those when he's on here someday.
No tour, Mondo is a thing if if if you're
around us, you understand, like Armando at home versus Mondo
on tour is so funny because his wife's like, wait,

(57:41):
you're funny.

Speaker 4 (57:43):
It sounds like a mister bean thing.

Speaker 3 (57:46):
That's so spot on very much, mister bean.

Speaker 4 (57:55):
I love it. I love it.

Speaker 3 (57:57):
That's so good.

Speaker 4 (57:58):
Well, not not to blame the point too much, but
when I first heard Meadows, you know, the first visual
thing you see is is obviously the logo and all
that stuff, and I could not, for the life of
me believe that you guys were a face down band,
because all the face down bands seem to have the
same artists doing all of and I know the guy's name,

(58:18):
but it's escaping her right now.

Speaker 3 (58:20):
Dave Quickl.

Speaker 4 (58:21):
Yep, Dave Quickle who does almost all of the album
artwork and all that stuff. And you know, I know
Dave's got a lot of great stuff under his belt,
but it wasn't really jiving with me all the you know,
the whatever. It was twenty five some albums that came
out for about ten years there that all had virtually
the same album cover, and it set you guys apart

(58:44):
in a very interesting, cool way.

Speaker 3 (58:46):
That's really interesting to hear. Yeah, because I definitely want
to position Armando as the next Dave Quickle.

Speaker 4 (58:54):
Yeah, or or the Clark Brothers or something like that.
What would you like to plug there, mister Nielsen.

Speaker 3 (59:00):
Uh m, As far as plugging man, I feel like
I'm always real bad at this because I do have
crippling ADHD and I should have written more things down
coming into this. But man, just like Birmingham Rcore, I

(59:23):
want to plug the city, plug the scene, support all
the homies, you know, get out to a show, go
to a local show, book a show. That'd be cool.
I'd like to see more people book their first show. Yeah,
like people that are into the music that I've never
booked a show, Book some locals and.

Speaker 4 (59:47):
Just do it, like I want to do it in
my quancet building.

Speaker 2 (59:52):
Oh that would be awesome.

Speaker 4 (59:54):
Actually what a quandtcet is kind of like it looks
like an airplane hangar kind of but it's much small.

Speaker 3 (01:00:00):
Dude, you can't hide money. Let's cook, dude.

Speaker 4 (01:00:03):
I got money though I'm a teacher in the in
the second worst paying state in the entire country and commonwealthy.

Speaker 3 (01:00:12):
Man, I love it. Yeah, dude, do that. That'd be
the coolest. The quants it.

Speaker 4 (01:00:18):
Yeah, I just don't know. I don't know. I'm like,
I'm way far away.

Speaker 3 (01:00:21):
From Hey comes through meadows at the quant quantt Fest
meadows with earth growns at the quants It.

Speaker 4 (01:00:31):
It actually would be pretty sick there, you it would be.
It would be pretty sick. I don't know how to
get people out here though, but I'll figure it out.

Speaker 3 (01:00:38):
You you promote it, you just you. That's what I'm
right now.

Speaker 4 (01:00:44):
Yeah, yeah, we'll promote it. We'll promote it, we'll make it.

Speaker 3 (01:00:46):
We're a TV roll on down to Jeremy's house and
say we're doing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:53):
It right now. Would be fun, dude, it'd be a
lot of fun.

Speaker 3 (01:01:02):
I think it'd be sick. I just want to see
like like more accessibility for people that are like intimidated
forgetting in the scene. So but yeah, man, we just
did a tour with Confessions of a Trader from England
and they are such killer dudes.

Speaker 4 (01:01:25):
They like, did you guys go to a Denny's and
and mess it up?

Speaker 3 (01:01:28):
I wanted to because.

Speaker 4 (01:01:30):
They they they had a viral meme I know.

Speaker 3 (01:01:34):
And it's great. I mean we like the whole time.
I mean, me and Steve would just be like setting
up merch, like taking shots at each other about US
versus UK kind of stuff. But it's great, man, Like,
I love them dearly and I'd like to plug them
as much as I can. Obviously, Austin Visser came on earlier,

(01:01:57):
The Undertaking, Idle Threat. You know, God's eyes. They're like
the homies kind of in the in the the craziest way,
whether we're across the country or not. But yeah, man,
I think that's all good stuff. And like, come to
Furnace Fest, come to our set, come hang out. They'll

(01:02:17):
be a stranger. All that good stuff and go to Milo's.
I wanna plug Milo's Hamburgers and Milo's sweet Tea. They
got the good ice.

Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
They got the good ice.

Speaker 2 (01:02:31):
Huh they.

Speaker 3 (01:02:33):
It's like the pebble ice.

Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Oh that's good for sweet tea.

Speaker 3 (01:02:38):
It's good. It's great for sweet tea.

Speaker 4 (01:02:40):
All right, all right, I'm into it. I'm into it.

Speaker 2 (01:02:44):
Well, Christian, thank you so much for chatting more about
you know where you guys are at and meadows. We're
just we're so soaked to see you here soon just
a few short months and we'll be giving you a
big hug and maybe a big fat kiss. You never know.

Speaker 3 (01:02:57):
Let's go.

Speaker 4 (01:02:58):
Can we bring Milet to the show.

Speaker 3 (01:03:01):
I would love to find a way. He'll be at
quantit Fest.

Speaker 4 (01:03:04):
Quant it Fest, Yeah, dude, he can. He can run
around with my pups. Be great.

Speaker 2 (01:03:09):
Chase after those chicken dud don't tam Maybe the good time.

Speaker 3 (01:03:12):
Yeah, we'll get in the We'll get in the van
right now. We got a minivan, bro, let's do.

Speaker 4 (01:03:17):
