do we spell the artist's named Lily Rocks. She's absolutely
wonderful and she has released a new track called Do
the Food Dance in the electropop genre. We're so happy
because the song just got released a couple of days
ago and you are going to hear it right now
(00:44):

are you today?
Speaker 2 (00:52):
Good? Thanks, thank you so much for having me on
your show.
Speaker 1 (00:56):
It's a pleasure having you. Thank you so much for
being with us. So the first question for you, can
you tell us where you're from and how did you
start music? So?
Speaker 2 (01:05):
I'm a UK artist. My genre is pop. I also
love comedy, so every opportunity I get I like to
combine comedy with my music, whether it be lyrics or
music videos. But from a young age, I've always loved music.
I actually like most genres too, but I think it
depends on what mood I'm in. I remember when I
(01:28):
was twelve, I asked my mom to buy me a
electric guitar because I wanted to be like Avril Levine.
I also played the piano lessons in secondary school, so
all about me. I started recording covers of other people's
songs and uploading them onto YouTube. I then started writing
(01:50):
my own music, which at the beginning were bad. I'm
talking really bad, like I hope they never see daylight bad.
But I guess that's just the process everyone has the
go through. I think it takes me about twenty attempts
to write one decent song. I'm from Leicester. That's where
red lusty Cheese comes from. Do you guys get red
(02:10):
lusty cheese in New York?
Speaker 1 (02:13):
Yes, we do, go amazing.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
They literally make it around the corner from me. So yeah,
that's where it comes from and.
Speaker 1 (02:23):
We are so glad. So tell us about who are
your music influences?
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Oh gosh, I mean, there's so many amazing artists out
there that I would say what I'm a Swifty love
Taylor Swift her music style really, you know, it inspires
me to write as well, So yeah, I would say
major Swifty.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Well we love that music for sure, it doesn't hurt.
So now let's fast forward to your new track or
do the Food Dance? Can you tell us what is
the story of that song?
Speaker 2 (02:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (02:59):
Cool?
Speaker 2 (03:00):
So I always knew I wanted to write a song
about food, and would you believe it took me a
very long time to complete this track. I actually had
three verses, a full on chorus where I talk about
flying off to Asia, eating different types of street food,
eating sushi, but the song didn't feel right. So in
(03:22):
the end, I just pulled out two sentences from the
whole song, which were, are you ready for the best
I ever? Did? The food Dance? And sometimes it's best
just to keep it simples, because I know everyone has
their own little food dance moments, so I wanted to
create a song that reflects that. But I guess my
goal was to create a song that brings joy and
(03:44):
makes people happy. I think sometimes we need a little
simples in our lives.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
And indeed, then you bringing such a beautiful atmosphere with
this new track, So We're so glad to have you
today to talk about your wonderful new song. So tell
us also, how do you create your music? Because I
believe you're also a songwriter, Can you tell us a
(04:10):
little bit more about this creative process of yours?
Speaker 2 (04:14):
Of course, So I always start with lyrics first because
I just find it easier. I started going to some
local studios, but I work with an engineer and he's
just amazing. I mean, we use FCS studios, we have
to play and sometimes that's how I create the best
songs when you know, I'm having some time in the studios.
(04:37):
So yeah, we just create these and yeah, everything just flows.
Speaker 1 (04:43):
And indeed it flies really well. So before we start
to play your beautiful music, what is next for you?
Do you have any performances? What are your next projects?
Speaker 2 (04:55):
Of course, So I have a few songs on my
sleeves which I'll be releasing next year, So watch this space.
But for the audience, Do the Food Dance is out
now available to stream on Spotify, iTunes and YouTube music
and also my music video for Do the Free Dance
