Speaker 2 (01:03):
Look at that quick cutoff from the bastardized Bosstones. How's
everybody doing? This is your early introduction to the weekend.
This is the culture shift. How's everybody doing?

Speaker 3 (01:13):
On?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Brad Slagger getting ready to usher you through the back
alleys and Hollywood Walk of Fame with all the entertainment
news you need to know. But I'm not gonna do
this by myself because always joining me is America's most
laser focused and digitized I'm ash individual. It's Orty Packer.
What's going on? Man?

Speaker 3 (01:33):
We're finally getting some rain out here, so, uh, life
is good? How stays out in America's wang? What's going
on with Brad?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
H too much? Too much? I'm just watching the medium
melt down and enjoying my hockey team going to the
White House in the midst of all the mayhem. It
was just kind of a hilarious respite to it all.
Watching now that was a sweet jersey. Seeing the left
and the press losing their minds and in the middle

(02:03):
of it, here comes the hockey team into the Oval office.

Speaker 3 (02:05):
So yeah, all of them wearing the blue suit, red tie,
blue blazer, red tie.

Speaker 2 (02:14):
Yeah, it was rather amusing. See, yeah, we we were proud.
I gotta tell you we were. It was just kind
of a nice little capstone to the whole season. And
we've been thrilled the whole time. But yeah, we're uh,
kind of what we're all about here.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Never see wards Stanley's Cup ever again.

Speaker 2 (02:37):
Yes, yes, it's it's their bitter pill to swallow as
they try to trash talk us, and it's like, you know,
we've got your trophy right, so we don't suck.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
But you'll never see it again. I hope you enjoyed curling.
We're taking that over too.

Speaker 2 (02:54):
Yeah, the uh, I think our curling women are a
little hotter. Just gonna say.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
That's debatable because if one thing Canada has no shortage of,
it's hot women.

Speaker 2 (03:07):
Not true, but they always seem to, I don't know,
stack their team with a couple. I don't want to
say beefy, but I'll say more athletically attuned for that
sport individuals. Sure, But yeah, curling is starting to turn
into the winter version of Beach Volleyball. I think, yeah,

(03:28):
people are starting to tune in, not so much for
the competition as it were.

Speaker 3 (03:33):
Yeah, that's you know, once you start to see the
Sports Illustrated Curling edition, then you know it's arrived.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
We can only hope someday, someday that'll be in our future.
But well, the entire purpose of our show here is
to actually become a little bit of a distraction from
all of what's taking place. You know, we are in
the midst of a news cycle right now that's kind
of overwhelming everybody. So we're gonna go with the alternative here.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Yeah, and we always do. I mean, you know, it's
like Andrew Breitbart said, is that, you know, politics is
always downstream from culture, so we can't always one avoid
politics in the uh entertainment world, but we we sure try.

Speaker 2 (04:21):
Yeah, and you know we'll we'll we'll have crossover on
occasion and in this episode, so probably I mean a
little bit of a nod here in the introduction. Sure,
first topic is going to be this weekend, of course,
is the big Game, as they have to say it
because contractually and copyright means you can't say super Bowl,

(04:41):
so I can't say super Bowl in the program when
I'm talking about.

Speaker 3 (04:45):
Super Bowl and we're talking about super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (04:48):
I don't want godelic game.

Speaker 3 (04:51):
Yeah, but we got most of the things we can
get sued over. We don't need to get suit over
that too.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
I keep trying, though, it's like, damn it, nobody bring
a lawsuit so that we get on the map here please,
so goodell you son of a bitch. Super Bowl.

Speaker 3 (05:06):
Yeah, but and I staid out without the express written.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Permission, I thought that was Major League Baseball.

Speaker 3 (05:14):
Is that there's a difference, well, probably.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
Rebroadcast or retransmission of any kind. So yeah, I'm I'm
about as apathetic with Sunday's game as it gets to
the extent of may not even watch it. I don't know.

Speaker 3 (05:32):
No, you know what I I you still got to
watch it for the commercials and we we we've got
I mean one great story about how uh you know,
we just keep winning.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
Yes, I think this. You know, we talked about bleeding
over into politics, and I think this is one of them,
because with the arrival of Donald Trump, I've always laughed
at this. The left always one of these that we
want women in burkas and full red robes and white bonnets.

(06:11):
Yeah no, we do not, ye no, sorry, but gonna
gonna be.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Influencers and bikinis.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
Yes, And the thing I happen to love is currently
right now we have an abundance of those.

Speaker 3 (06:29):
It seems like an embarrassment of them.

Speaker 2 (06:32):
If you will, I might stop short of using a
negative term of that sort, but.

Speaker 3 (06:38):
Well, you know, the the an embarrassment of riches.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
Yes, I know, it's I'm just I don't want to
dissuade the influencers as.

Speaker 3 (06:48):
It were, no, no, no, no more.

Speaker 2 (06:51):
Yeah. So an indication of this would be Carls Junior
years ago or Hamburger chain this is up by you, right.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
Yeah, you would know them in your side. You would
know that was Hearty's out where you're at.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
But we don't have those either at in my area. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (07:13):
I mean, maybe car had no influence in the Panhandle.
What's are in you know America's Wang whatsoever?

Speaker 2 (07:20):
Not really, I mean he might be up in the
Panhandle area, but not so much around this this area.
We got Sonics loss. Yeah, well, you know, everybody's is
a good ship. But the yeah, years ago, they they
were known for their salicious commercials where they would have
just a physically appealing, sometimes even buxom, young nymph of

(07:47):
a woman suggestively eating a hamburger or other food offering, and.

Speaker 3 (07:53):
And it was always the flavor of the year. It's like,
I think he has been bleathed? Was it one year?
And I know that? And Nicole Smith did it one
year and yeah it's you know, it's I think one
of the Kardashians and you so yeah, And Paris Hilton

(08:14):
did it one year too, Yeah so.

Speaker 4 (08:18):
But yeah, so you getting the best one, kay.

Speaker 3 (08:23):
Kate Upon absolutely.

Speaker 2 (08:26):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (08:27):
If I if I, the musket would have lynched me,
oh man and maps and such.

Speaker 2 (08:36):
But I think it was sometime during the Obama administration.

Speaker 3 (08:41):
I want to say, okay, we'll stopped doing it.

Speaker 2 (08:47):
Yeah, the the woke scolds of our nation kind of said,
you know, where's the con tanged of these sexist commercials
and objectifying women they sell hamburgers and bitch and moan
and complete and turn it too herrod Ins and Karen
and so the company bowed to this, to which, as
we always say on the right, you're trying to appease

(09:10):
a customer base that doesn't exist, right.

Speaker 3 (09:14):
They're not burger eaters unless you have the beyond Burger.

Speaker 2 (09:19):
These are women that will never going to your store.
Most of them are vegan, they'll tell you that. And
they're not Carl Junior customers. But they're the ones complaining
about your commercials. So you're appeasing them for some reason.
But this is the return of Donald Trump, and like

(09:39):
Aggie and I have been talking about on our show, it's,
you know, this new culture that has taken over the
country where conservatism is cool again, where we don't have
to bow and oh, I'm so sorry. Oh, I apologize
for that. If that offends you. Now it's like you're offended. Cool, good,
tell you my disappointment. I think I have a coloring
book for you somewhere you can go.

Speaker 3 (10:01):
There's a puppy over there too, anyway, therapy puppy.

Speaker 2 (10:05):
I mean it's literally that's on social media and elsewhere.
People are just like wow, so you're offended, that's cool?
Hey is the game one? You know? It's second and
carls Junior is coming back with the with the hottie
consuming a burger. I mean this is it?

Speaker 3 (10:23):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And it's uh, she's a TikTok influencer
named Alex Early. She she does the whole party girl,
you know, the whole party life. That's her stick, you know,
kind of like uh, you know, Paris Hilton, but for
TikTok kind of thing. And so, yeah, she is going

(10:45):
to be featuring Carl's Junior's new Hangover burger. It's a
breakfast burger full of tater tots and you know, the
egg from their breakfast sandwich and bacon and looks really
fucking barbecue sauce. Looks really fucking good. It's something that
I would have gotten, you know.

Speaker 2 (11:03):
To Okay, I see what you're talking about. Yeah, she's
holding them burger Okay.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Yeah, yeah, there is a burger in the ad. It's
barely prominent, but you know it's there.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
They should try not hiding that or something. No, it's
it's just a sign of this those because I've always
loved that whole what do they call it, It's Handmaid's Tale.
They keep trying to insist that's what conservatives want. And
if you ever notice, the only people that wear Handmaid's
Tale outfits are the people that complain about the Handmaid's

(11:39):
Tale outfits. Yeah, so they're.

Speaker 3 (11:42):
Like or those or those making fun of them in
sluty handmaid's tail Halloween costumes.

Speaker 2 (11:48):
Yes, those, those are in favor of. But it's it
just to crack me up. No end. During Trump's first
termam at least where they kept insisting, you'll never make
me wear these, and now I'm gonna go protest why
by wearing it. It's like, what are you doing? Meanwhile,
you didn't make you wear it. I wore it of
my own accord. Yeah, totally different means means something completely different. Yeah,

(12:11):
but we are on the conservative side of things. We're
seeing what is it that, right beard, It's called I
think it is where they put out now a calendar
each year with hot, yeah, smoking, conservative women in bikinis
and onesies. And yeah, we had Anapoleon in Congress. She's
they unearthed her bikini shots and tried to embarrass her.
She's like kidding me. I got a whole catalog. I

(12:33):
used to sell these. Here they are and there's like
fifteen shots of her and it's just like.

Speaker 3 (12:39):
Yeah, it's like if they were trying to right a
Bovart or something. It's like, you know what, Yeah, anyway, But.

Speaker 2 (12:46):
That's the thing is they always insist the conservatives are
the repressed individuals, and then they try to shame conservative
women for looking good. Right, No, you can't believe she's
wearing a bikini. I can't believe you posed it. Do
you have another?

Speaker 3 (13:05):
So the thing I found interesting, the interesting sidebar about
the story and then we can get back to it
was the interview with actual with actually with uh was
that are you there?

Speaker 2 (13:19):
Don't know?

Speaker 3 (13:21):
Yeah, I'm here, I hear you, Okay, Yeah. So it
was the interview with Andrew Pozder in it too. He
was the former chief executive of a c k E.
Which is the owner, you know, Carl Karcher's Enterprises, and uh,
he was, it was it wasn't his brain child, but
he was heading the ship the last time that they

(13:41):
were doing these ads, and when they changed their ad campaign,
he resigned, you know because and he was talking about
how those ads saved this company, you know, much the
same way that nobody knew fucking thing about Go Daddy
until Go Daddy started doing those kind of ads too.
And it used to be a competition between Carls Junior
and Go Daddy and who would have the the racist
ads for the Super Bowl. And but yeah, he's like,

(14:05):
you know, we saved the company. We saved a lot
of jobs with these ads, and you obviously somebody figured
it out at back at Carl Carter Industries. Fuck. Uh,
we're we're hambrhaging because I even I've cut down on
my consumption of Carls Union, not because they don't have
the ads, but because I don't think of them as
often anymore. You know, true.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
I mean it's classic example that sex cells and yeah,
you know here we are what's wrong with that? But yeah,
it's just another indication of how things have changed. I
will say, there's those side note. New York mag they've
they've been in a hot mess ever since the election,

(14:52):
and for the most part since the inauguration, they have
just been very well. Yeah, they're they're basically publishing from
the therapist couch these days. And the other day they
were enraged because Donald Trump is going to attend the
Super Bowl in person, and their coverage is we can't

(15:14):
even get away from politics at the super Bowl. Donald
Trump is going to infect it.

Speaker 3 (15:20):
You weren't gonna watch it anyway.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
It's like you won't shut up about the man. You
should be thrilled for one thing. And secondly, let's see
going back to I think forever, the host network of
the Super Bowl is always entertained the President of the
United States in an interview before the game. So yes,

(15:45):
you're not getting away from anything. It was going to happen. So,
you know, I think it's going to be a prop bet. Now,
who's going to be shown on camera more often during
the game, Donald Trump or Taylor Swift?

Speaker 3 (16:00):
You know, we could actually start a pool.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
We started funny, I was, I was in the tavern
last night and one of the channels had a whole
series of prop bets going on and it was, uh,
you know, coin flip one hundred points each. Yeah, it's
called fifty to fifty guys. Thank you for that graphic. Yeah,
and the I saw the odds scoring on the opening kickoff,

(16:24):
it was five hundred to one to score, and to
bet not score you have to put down fifty thousand
dollars to win one hundred, which it still seems like
a safe bet to me, But that's that's a lot
of money to put on the hook, just in case, just.

Speaker 3 (16:44):
For a hundred bucks. Yeah, but you know, having lived
in Vegas, I people fucking bet on anything. There's a
yeah I can waste in the video game Wasteland too,
or wasn't in Fallout New Vegas anyway, the joke was, uh,
you know, the house bet that none of the missiles

(17:05):
would hit Vegas, and the house never loses because none
of them actually hit Vegas, just around it.

Speaker 2 (17:14):
Weird, But yeah, I kind of crack up because, like,
if you've got fifty thousand in cash in your hand,
one hundred dollars really isn't going to move the needle,
but losing fifty thousand dollars might. So it seems like
kind of a dumb beat.

Speaker 3 (17:27):
I don't know if you If you if you got
the money to drop fifty grand on that bet, you
can probably afford to lose the fifty grand. But on
the other hand, you have dudes like Richard drives his
friend and let it ride. Who you know, Oh yeah,
I'm going back. There's a horse in the sixth race
name the same as my cat.

Speaker 2 (17:45):
So it's just that that's the kind of fun kind
of stuff. I'm probably gonna research all the prop bets
and just have some fun with that. See what's out
there to cheerleader Parley, I'm sure be involved in things
of this nature. But yeah, that's uh, this is Sunday.

(18:06):
This is kind of what everybody's got going on. But
apart from that, if you're not a sports ball fan,
as they call it some places.

Speaker 3 (18:15):
There's also the puppy ball.

Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah. Uh I got I got fifty on the corky nice.
So we'll see how that plays out there. Gotta gotta
call that into the book. And just you know, he's like,
oh yeah, but he's on for you know, two and
a half and I was like, I don't two in
the hook on the corgy. I didn't like it. Looks
at that. Not sure.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
What I'm in though, I'll take it.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
We have. They're they're actually trying to get in Google
bets with the Super Bowl. Yeah, Herbo charging Gemini AI business,
I mean.

Speaker 3 (18:59):
I but yeah, okay, yeah, Google is. They're doing their
ads too. They're doing a big national one and fifty
individual different ads that you know you're in your the
local affiliate takes their break to you know, you get
the you know, the main yeah broadcast, and then the

(19:22):
local affiliate gets to run some of their commercials into
the Google also made fifty tailor made commercials for businesses
in that state they should have been fifty one and
included Canada, but for a business in that state that
uses uh, Google AI in their business. So they're really
trying to push the whole using Gemini to help your

(19:43):
business kind of thing. So they're showcasing all the different
ways that you know, businesses, especially you know in regional
businesses are using Gemini. So Ulu got a you know.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
We've been talking about this for some time on the show,
you know, and we've always talked about AI like in
the future. So pretty soon this is going to take over.
If someday this dystopian thing is going to happen, I
think we're there. It's just to the point now where
you can't turn anywhere now without AI being part of

(20:18):
it in some capacity.

Speaker 3 (20:20):
I dropped a meme like six months or a year
ago with you know, it was going to any business
on the internet now with AI, Yes, and look out.

Speaker 2 (20:34):
Quickly that developed, huh. I think we might be at
the precipice of doom. However, because just again a dip
a toe into politics once again, as Elon Musk is
going through USAID agency at the moment and going through
their financials, we've come to learn that he's got this

(20:55):
brain trust of young kids, teens and teens in college
going through running the codes inside the agency. The story
now is they're actually using AI to go through their
entire mainframe. Yes, basically means you're turning over all of

(21:17):
that data to AI, which means the shit's gonna get
corrupted and hacked and everywhere already. So we're we're probably
in doom cycle as we speak, is all I'm saying.

Speaker 3 (21:33):
You know, every show's got to have a little bit
of doom in it, and this is ours. But you know,
it's like, okay, So all of a sudden, they were
mad that they First of all, they were mad that
it was a bunch of teenagers doing it. These are
the same people who said that you should be allowed
to vote at the age of sixteen not too long ago.
Then now they're mad that the teenagers are using AI.

(21:54):
And I'm pretty sure that they used AI to write
their tweets explaining how mad they really are about these
teenagers using AI.

Speaker 2 (22:06):
Yeah, they're they're in sense that Elon Musk has guys
that are twenty five years and younger doing this. Oh,
by the way, they just chose as their deputy chairperson
for the Democrat Party, David Hogg, Right, got it, got it?
So you only hate.

Speaker 3 (22:25):
The thing I love most about the left is their
consistency and thought and action.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
Oh really, I was gonna say, I was gonna applaud
their standards, both of them. They have twice as many.

Speaker 3 (22:37):
So yes, go aheads. Yeah, I'm just.

Speaker 2 (22:41):
I was gonna put a bow on it. It's all.

Speaker 3 (22:43):
But also, in case you're not interested in the Carls
Junior Ad or the Google AI AD, and you're not
interested in the big game, you can come listen to
Jeff Slaswanda or Alsa sending nice with Alan Ray right
here on kr and Radio dot com dot com.

Speaker 2 (23:01):
Wow, so the boys are still going to broadcast? Huh yeah,
how about that? Nice? Oh geez, there's a fight has
broken out. Unfortunately, guys hockey, what are you gonna do?
H professional disagreement has broken out? Cool? But uh, Also

(23:21):
there's other celebrations of foot. We are on the verge
of the oscars, i e. The Academy Awards, i e.
Celebration of movies nobody's ever heard of.

Speaker 3 (23:34):
Yeah, I mean, you know, the irony of you know,
one of the topics tonight one of the things that
they're in trouble for. Was tweeting about several years ago
about how the Oscars are just showcasing independent and protest
films now and their test film.

Speaker 2 (23:58):
Yeah, they.

Speaker 3 (24:00):
They've that's nominated for Best Picture and Best Actress.

Speaker 2 (24:05):
They've kind of boxed themselves in a corner where they
were celebrating how wonderfully open minded they are to any
in all categories. So we're gonna nominate movies representing every
all category except one, and that would be the audience, right.

Speaker 3 (24:22):
Yeah, we talked about it last show on how of
everything that's nominated, I've heard of two, maybe three of them,
and that's across all categories. That's not just like, oh,
I've never heard of the you know, here's five Best
Picture nominations. I've heard two or three of them. No,
out of all of the categories, I've heard of maybe
two or three of these films. And this is what
I do.

Speaker 2 (24:44):
Yes, it's they don't like our movies, is what it
comes down to. And in fact, they don't like popular movies.
They don't like movies attached to or anything of the sort.
But we did talk last episode about Emilia Parez. This

(25:04):
is the Mexican film that is the most allauded going
into the Oscars with thirteen nominations, and this is starting
to blow up in their face repeatedly.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
So and it's just such a train wreck.

Speaker 2 (25:22):
This is what's cracking me up though. I'm I am
absolutely loving this. I mean, this is like go woke
and get shit hammered in the media because they have
done every single thing perfectly, taken every step that they
think they should make and celebrate this movie. And the

(25:42):
star of the movie is Carla Sophia Garson. Guy or girl.
I'm not even sure. I'm I'm not pretending I'm not
being hateful. I'm not sure which side I'm supposed to say,
because I'm not. I'm just not clear. I think she.
I'm gonna go with that because nominating the best actress categories.

(26:03):
I think that's the same.

Speaker 3 (26:05):
Yeah, I think that's the safe bet. Remember that line
in uh, Clear and Present Danger. Oh, he's like a
Latin Jack Ryan. Well, she's like a Latin Chris Jenner.

Speaker 2 (26:16):
H kind of sort of. Yeah, I can see this.
Here's the problem. Jaw.

Speaker 3 (26:22):
You just can't get past the jaw. That's a very
square jaw. It's very manly jaw.

Speaker 2 (26:31):
Going on.

Speaker 3 (26:31):
I'm not sorry.

Speaker 2 (26:32):
You might be able to get away with saying this
a very handsome woman. I know that's a term. Okay, yeah,
maybe yes? Is it hateful? I don't even know anymore.
Also don't care, but that's I don't care.

Speaker 3 (26:45):
We were just talking about how nobody cares that we
don't care.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
It's like, oh my gosh, you can't say that. Watch
me or listen to me. I'm gonna say it. You're pick. Yeah,
but mss Goson is under fire the past few weeks
because it's almost it's not one thing that's carrying over,
it's a number. Like every week, it's something different with

(27:11):
this one. So there's been a little pushback into trans
community about this or about their nomination. And instead of
being political and you know, just saying, oh, you know,
everybody's got their opinion, everybody's no, she's been lashing out
and telling people in the trans community to shut the
hell out for the most part. Yeah, And now that

(27:33):
of course has angered the left cancel culture mavens that
they are, and they've started digging through his her social
media history and coming up with a variety of things
of an offensive nature.

Speaker 3 (27:47):
Yes, she's very not happy about having Muslims in Spain.

Speaker 2 (27:53):
Yeah, and you're just you're not allowed to say that.
But here's the thing. They're not allowed to criticize her
because so the studio, the academy, everybody's like, I'm we
what do we do?

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Do we just pretend none of this is happening, which
is kind of the course they're taking.

Speaker 2 (28:16):
You know.

Speaker 3 (28:17):
It's like everybody's aware of it except for apparently the
Academy of Film, Arts and Science.

Speaker 2 (28:24):
Let's put it this way, this performer has said things
that edge pretty close to what they unearthed in Kevin
hart social media history, like from ten years ago, and
he got removed as host of the Oscars because of it.

Speaker 3 (28:42):
They stuff with what she is posting. Yeah, we'll go
with she. This has been this is like gotten people
completely canceled, you know, kicked out of college life room
owned but protected class ergo Latin untouchable.

Speaker 2 (29:08):
Yeah. And it hasn't only been the Muslims either. There's
been some controversial comments made about George Floyd. Apparently she
opposes diversity in some fashion anti DEI gasp, she's maga. Yeah,
I saw somebody write that. Getting in trouble for Mega comments.

(29:30):
It was like, I said, do we have a trans
mega individual? Did we cross over? Did this happen? What
do they call it in cooking fusion? Is that social fusion? Yeah?
I didn't know that you could be both. But again,
imagine my surprise. I'm growing as a human here. So yeah,

(29:51):
they're they're absolutely on the fence about what to do here,
like there's these are comments you're supposed to condemn and cancel.
You can't because she's trans.

Speaker 3 (30:02):
And even her comments about the oscars in the past too.
I didn't know if I was watching an Afro Korean festival,
Black Lives Matter demonstration or the eight M And.

Speaker 2 (30:14):
I'm only laughing because if anybody on our site said this,
we hear from them againiated it's like, wow, Joy Lost Island,
nice knowing you, but yeah, this is this is just
what's going on now. Then everybody's kind of like in
this their condition of stasis as a result, but each

(30:37):
we can't. But so watching them go through this internal
struggle session has been utterly hilarious. And now I'm waiting
to see if this is going to cause backlash on
the voting because because.

Speaker 3 (30:52):
If they don't because now if they don't give her
the award.

Speaker 2 (30:56):
Yeah, and this is where there's stuff. Now this was there,
like it's not even to get out of jail free car,
but you know, celebrate for a year. We picked a
trans movie, We picked a trans and now they're like
the culmination.

Speaker 3 (31:10):
Of all those regulations they put in a couple of
years ago we talked about on the show where there
had to be exact amounts of diversity and inclusion in
order to be nominated for an Oscar.

Speaker 2 (31:25):
It is I dare say that we appreciate once again, Yes, because.

Speaker 3 (31:31):
We predicted something like this would happened us.

Speaker 2 (31:36):
Yes, So the winner for the Oscar for Best Diversity
goes to I mean, this is literally where they're at,
and it's now they're on the hook because of it.
They don't know what to do. Kick them out. No
vote for the movie, don't for the movie. Am I hateful?

Speaker 3 (31:55):
If I do?

Speaker 2 (31:55):
Am I more hateful if I don't? This is what
the by their rules.

Speaker 3 (32:02):
My favorite thing about this too is even taking the
actress out of it, taking her out of the mix.
Glad has pissed off about the movie.

Speaker 2 (32:11):
This is the other funny part. Yes again, most heralded
film at the Oscars won a slew of Golden Globes,
recognized that the can Film Festival, this is the movie
of the year. We voted trans. We're fabulous, and the
Gay and Lesbian Alliance Against Discrimination GLAD they put out

(32:35):
their own award show each year celebrating media you know,
movie TVs and such that highlight and promote and accentuate
the gay GBLT, PIGH community. Amelia Perez does not have
a single nomination. No, they hate this movie.

Speaker 3 (32:56):
In a breakdown last November, they said Amelia is a
step backwards for trans representation. It just everything is using
trans as a redemption. Because if you're not familiar with
the story, it's a you know, drug kingpin who became
trans and now all is forgiven. Basically, Yeah, It's just

(33:24):
it sends all the wrong signals and all the wrong
messages and the people. It's kind of remember a couple
what was that I had to work that day? I
think Jeff filled in for me. Where there was it
was it like bros or something that maybe that was
like supposed to be. Oh, you know, this isn't for

(33:44):
you white cis hetero males is for all the game
men out there to come and watch, and none of
them watched it, right, they all hated it.

Speaker 2 (33:52):
Yeah, that was supposed to be the first all gay
rom com, right, and you know, the writer directors out
there saying, eel, you don't like this movie, don't come
because this is not for you anyway, and.

Speaker 3 (34:03):
Yeah, you're a homophobe if you don't watch it.

Speaker 2 (34:05):
Though, they said it's not for homophobes, and if you
don't watch my movie, you're a homophobe. It's like, so
you don't want me to watch it, and you're gonna
accuse me while I don't got it, but I did
like a breakdown of the numbers and even said if
every single person that bought a ticket was gay, it's
still represented like a minuscule fraction of the gay community,

(34:26):
Like the gay people just did not show up for
this film.

Speaker 3 (34:30):
And a Toshi size representation and if you're not familiar
with that, those are the bits of a bitcoin that
you can buy, the tiny, tiny millions of a bit.

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Anyway, I was gonna go with nanites, but okay, cool, Yeah,
even that works, you know, but this is yeah, this
is a case where I mean Hollywood thought they nailed it.
They were. They were just convinced. It was like, this is, yeah,
we've established rands and it's gonna be a thing, and
we've done it. And Glad is saying, oh, hell no,

(35:04):
the fuck you have. I mean, there's gotta be a
shits creen.

Speaker 3 (35:09):
That's over there with the finger guns.

Speaker 2 (35:10):
That's what you're wrong. Fucko, this is this is cracking
me up so much though, and we have no idea
what's gonna happen anymore. So they tried to do this
to celebrate themselves and failed. They're trying to promote this
movie extensively failed. It's not in the top ten of
Netflix after I'm an is. I've been checking like every

(35:32):
few days.

Speaker 3 (35:33):
To see it hasn't coming up on It hasn't come
up on my Rex once.

Speaker 2 (35:39):
So it's this thing's failing across the board and it's
the best movie of the year supposedly. I mean, wow,
you almost have to try to feel this bad, but
this is going on.

Speaker 3 (35:53):
It was never good in the first place, and it
has just been foisted upon everybody, and this is the
embarrassment when.

Speaker 2 (36:01):
You and you know, sadly, I guess we still have
to do more political crossover, don't we.

Speaker 3 (36:10):
I yes, we do.

Speaker 2 (36:11):
Yeah, because this I'm just having so much damn fun anymore.
It cracked me up.

Speaker 3 (36:17):
I just just it never stops.

Speaker 2 (36:21):
And like I was on the VIP chat on Red
State last night and I found out that I'm actually
muted in that capacity. The other people were talking about
We're gonna kill inflation, We're gonna take a trillion dollars
out of the money system, never going. It's like, if
this keeps at this pace, I was like, wow, I
was just happy for the weekend. You guys are just
all arms. But I want everybody just in your mind

(36:47):
try to try to picture how Joe Biden was as
a condition in his final month as president, you know,
December or so. How he really couldn't speak walking was
a bit of a challenge. I'm amazing his own he
just was not he was not in top condition. Let's

(37:11):
just say I only bring all this up not to
make fun of the guy or anything else. But the
big announcement was Joe Biden has signed on with a
Hollywood agency.

Speaker 3 (37:25):
I think Joe Biden is the only one who doesn't
know that he has signed on with a Hollywood agency.

Speaker 2 (37:31):
I mean, when you can just see He's like, yeah, okay, Joe,
come out in here. We're gonna have a meeting now
about your new agent. He's like, but, but but but
I'm president, right, President? No, you mean no, huh.

Speaker 4 (37:42):
But gentlemen, I do have some breaking news on this.

Speaker 2 (37:46):
Okay.

Speaker 3 (37:47):
Uh.

Speaker 4 (37:48):
The first project that Joe Biden has been announced.

Speaker 2 (37:52):
Who oh, how about that? That was fast? That nice?

Speaker 3 (37:59):
I like every building lost.

Speaker 2 (38:05):
I think that's yeah, that's ideal. How about that? I
think it's just him wandering like a rumba around the beach.
Where you going, Joe over here?

Speaker 3 (38:21):
No wandering off into the Amazon.

Speaker 2 (38:24):
What what I enjoyed about this was they talked about
how this is the second time Joe Biden has actually
signed on with a talent agency in Hollywood following his
vice president term. He did so, and they represented him
as he went on a speaking tour. As they described

(38:45):
across the United States.

Speaker 3 (38:48):
Mmmm, he's eighty five thousand tickets sold.

Speaker 2 (38:52):
A total of eighty five thousand people. It's small arenas
even like, say, what do you do, like sixteen speeches,
maybe maybe five thousands of pop. I mean, eighty five
thousand is not a lot. It's like my point, and

(39:13):
I was like, Wow, that that's what the agency got
for you. Huh, okay in.

Speaker 3 (39:19):
This book, promise me, Dad?

Speaker 2 (39:23):
Oh yeah, when he talked about oh yes, we don't
need to read the book. I've heard him talk about
Bo for four years.

Speaker 3 (39:34):
I know more about I know more about Bo than
I know about Uh in case, he's just Maleman Dad.

Speaker 2 (39:45):
Yeah. I just I just love how they think this
is newsworthy though they put this out there. Hey, agency, okay,
is is he gonna film with the pens marciall? What
are we going to do here?

Speaker 3 (40:02):
He's going to make another Village's ad? Except that does
time on purpose? I just I mean, he's not writing,
you know, he's not writing a book.

Speaker 2 (40:15):
Well yeah, maybe his twenty six year old Twitter account
writer is going to be the ghost writer this time. Yeah, okay,
got it. Joe's got a challenging I.

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Mean, if Jill had signed on, that would make sense.
But yeah, I mean, I you know what that is.
I think that's a uh, that's a political favor. That's ah.
So that way c AA can say, oh, we've had Obama,
we've had Biden, We've had you know, Beto O'Rourke, Susan Rice,
Joe Manchin. You know, look at all these high power

(40:53):
players that you know we represent. Great, you're doing anything
for him? Well we got by an eighty five thousand
tick it sold.

Speaker 2 (41:01):
Huh but uh yeah, And you know, like Tex said,
the thing that most people do as well, which is
weekend at Bernie's, is always an option rebooting that. But
then they probably said, people saw that for four years
already and they didn't like it, So no sequels. It's
just amazing stuff. It just cracks me up that they

(41:24):
think this is pertinent information. Joe signed, of course he
did tell me he didn't sign.

Speaker 3 (41:31):
Then be the news, right, No, I don't want representation.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
Well let's see, Uh do we have any lawsuits we
can uh, we can cover I just I seem to
be always.

Speaker 4 (41:47):
It's just.

Speaker 3 (41:49):
Yeah, boy, we got one. This is a big one too,
because this is like a forty year relationship. That's like,
you know, this isn't you know, this isn't a lawsuit.
This is like a divorce. The kids are all grown,
you know, the oldest has passed on.

Speaker 2 (42:05):
They're starting to move out.

Speaker 5 (42:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (42:08):
I got to crack up though, because another time, when
I was in the tavern, I go to the Tavern
quite frequently Guilty, but they had on the TV. One time,
I was waiting for a game to come on, and
Wheel of Fortune it was on the channel with Ryan.
It just it feels so wrong. Yeah, I just, I

(42:34):
mean Seacrest hosting the Wheel. Just it's like, no, no, no, no, no, no,
what'd you do with Pat Okay? Did everybody get a
message to him?

Speaker 3 (42:47):
You know? It's kind of like the character doesn't renew
their contract on a popular TV show, so they bring
in somebody else, you know, either to play them, which
they haven't tried to do that in a while, or
you know, like the brother in law after you know,
the character dies off screen. We've seen this a lot,
haven't we.

Speaker 2 (43:09):
But and Vanna is still there. It's almost like, what's
that one medicine show the girls all watch on ABC?
It's been on forever. They've rotated almost the entire hospital
staff except for the one doctor Gray's Anatomy. Yeah. Yeah,
they've gone through so many male characters. McDreamy, mcsteam fish, mcfry.

(43:34):
I don't know where they're at now. McDonald sponsors them,
but she's still on from day one. Ellen Pompeo, same thing,
you know, it's like Vanders still there, but the parent
companies are now at odds as to who's going to
control the franchise.

Speaker 3 (43:52):
Yeah, and you know, I didn't see any previous lead
up on this to see what caused Sony to, uh
tell CBS, you know you're in reach of contracts. So
we're taking exclusive distribution rights of Jeopardy and Wheel of
Fortune from you after forty years, and you've kind of
dropped the ball. You fucked around, and now you're gonna
find out. And so your last shows that you get

(44:17):
from us are on February tenth. We expect you to
deliver them to all your affiliates as per the contract. Meanwhile,
back at the Halls of Justice, the judge goes, now
we're gonna put a tro on this.

Speaker 2 (44:37):
And I'm not even really I can't even wrap my
head around the wrangling's the deal, any of it because
this has all been established for forty years. What the
hell is changing here?

Speaker 3 (44:51):
And my argument is, if Sony could just go direct
to the affiliates, what the fuck is CBS parent company
even needed for then why even have a deal with them?

Speaker 2 (45:03):
Well, yeah, and it's I guess CBS produces and they distribute.
Sony distributes, so.

Speaker 3 (45:10):
No, it's you an Sony producers there. Yeah, Sony does
all that and CBS distributes.

Speaker 2 (45:16):
Got it, had it flipped? Yeah, and that's yeah, and
that's the difference. But yeah, if CBS has the affiliates,
you know, direct line, you got feeder systems right there,
give it to them. It just cracks me up. But these
have been around for so long, and both of them
now have changed host within the last few years.

Speaker 3 (45:40):
Yes, they've been on so long. The original hosts have died.
I think Patsy is still around, just retired, but everybody
knows Alex died right, so.

Speaker 2 (45:51):
And it's just these things have been going on forever.
They're just so established and no matter how much TV
is dying, these things are still a thing in syndication.
It amazes me, five days.

Speaker 3 (46:04):
A week still going huh how but it didn't even
break for COVID. They found a way.

Speaker 2 (46:14):
It's so there's basically it comes down to this ship
ton of money involved, Yeah, because it is that lucrative still.
So basically the judges ruled Sony Pictures owns controls, produces,
finances the shows, and even though CBS has failed to

(46:36):
live up to the contract. Everything still has to stay
in place. How did you come to this ruling? One
side is clearly screwing up, Yeah, I mean them.

Speaker 3 (46:49):
I mean obviously they did the gros. So that way
there can actually be a moment of you know that
one the judge is helping both sides cool down, and
you know the other is I mean because I don't
know if you heard, but CBS is under new ownership.
I think we may have talked about it once on
the show.

Speaker 2 (47:08):
Yeah, a couple of couple of times this has come up.

Speaker 3 (47:12):
Yeah, so I'm sure, God we couldn't. That was the
story that wouldn't go away. But uh so, I don't
know if it has to do with with Sony just saying, hey,
new owners, new deal, we want more cash or whatever.
But anyway, you know, or it's like, hey, you're or

(47:34):
the new owners have fucked around with the agreement, not
gone through with you know, and you know, kind of
taking the ask hey when you made that contract with
the Redstones not us.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
So yeah, and it's just it really doesn't make sense
because Sony on the one side, holds everything, it's all theirs,
and CBS has been the one basically screwing around, and
Judge's like, I give him a couple more months a
screw around, see what happens.

Speaker 3 (48:04):
Yeah, y'all just calm down a minute, y'all.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Just send it down and then and just an extension
off of that CBS deal. I think Redstone is on
the verge of settling with Donald Trump over sixty minutes,
because it's like, make this go away. We're trying to
close a deal, which guy right, because the sky dance
thing is still going on, and now this is kind

(48:31):
of a you know, flying the ointment situation, Donald Trump
suing sixty minutes over the interview, which they just released yesterday.
By the way, Holy damn last.

Speaker 3 (48:41):
Twenty seconds of it.

Speaker 2 (48:43):
I mean the part that cracks me up is they've
been denying for months, were editing everything was underclear, everybody's
on to up it up. You don't need to see it.
It's like, well, if there's no problem, release it, right,
You've done with every interview in your history. Yeah. Well,
what I loved was they didn't just edit her. They
edited their own interviewer, Bill Whitaker. You see the full

(49:08):
transcript and the full video, and in one he's asking
her a question and then she looked like a fool,
so they cut half his question to make her look
more salient than her answering. Right, It's like, okay, his
question was too complex, we cut her in half an
hour questioned an answer looks just on point. Well done, Cammy.

Speaker 3 (49:29):
Can we get somebody with crayons and a whiteboard behind
him to help her through this?

Speaker 2 (49:36):
So yeah, I think this is why they also want
to settle.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
So yeah.

Speaker 2 (49:42):
And these defamation suits are cracking me up though, because
not just CNN ABC News settled out of court with
Trump because they were on the hook. There's another one
going on with them as NBC that they keep losing
in their bid to get it tossed and everything else. Noop,
that's going forward.

Speaker 3 (50:00):
CNN just lost big, massively. So in fact, it was
the story I didn't I didn't put it in the rundown,
one of the first stories that came up, and I
was like, you know, we're probably gonna have a lot,
so we'll just skip this one. The jury foreman in
that trial down in Florida for CNN was mad that
the parties settled, right, because they were going to slap

(50:24):
CNN with one hundred million dollars impunitive. Yeah, the whole
jury was like, oh, yeah, no, this is bad. We're
gonna fuck them.

Speaker 2 (50:34):
Yeah. I think they. I think the lawyers realize that
and that's why, and they may have settled for something
close to that, because for it to be undisclosed, you're
gonna pay a premium for that. So I'm just saying.
The only thing is I don't believe they would have
gotten one hundred million, because Florida does have a cap
on punitive once damages are awarded, and they had given

(50:57):
him five million, so the max would have fifty mili. Yeah,
that's stoke. And I don't know if the jury even
realized that, because if they were looking for a hundred
million settlement, they would have given him a bigger penalty settlement. Yeah.
So that seems a little confusing. And there's one coming

(51:18):
up with MSNBC, and there's one currently going with the
Politzer Prize Committee that they keep losing their bids and
that's going forward. So that one cracks me up. Because
Trump wanted to sue the New York Times in Washington
Post over the Russian collusion garbage, but statue of limitations

(51:39):
went out, so he's like, well, okay, he went to
the Pulitzer Committee. He's like, you got to pull their trophy.
And the Policer Prize Committee came out with a statement no, like,
oh okay, well that's within the calendar for statute of limitations.
Will just sue them.

Speaker 3 (51:54):
How about that?

Speaker 2 (51:56):
And it's going forward, that's what correct? Nice. Yeah, I
mean I might be live for the MSNBC one because
that's taking place about hour and a half away from me,
So I might be in attendance for that. Fun I.

Speaker 3 (52:13):
Go go there, Well you get just like like uh
Bill Murray's Hunter S. Thompson wear the Buffalo roam, you
got your your hotel ice bucket and your bloody Mary.
It just sit in the gallery and well the Fourth
Amendment clause.

Speaker 2 (52:30):
Oh you're doing it wrong. Yeah, we'll see. It's it's
it's not in a very urbane area. I'll just say that.
So it's gonna be really curious to see what the
jury pool turns out to be. That'll be fun in
and of itself. So we'll find out months down the
road when that develops. It's just yeah, so we've got

(52:52):
a lot of that going on. That's why I said
court cases all of a sudden, I'm interested in these right,
hold an appeal?

Speaker 3 (52:58):
Yeah, I about that, Yeah, against.

Speaker 2 (53:02):
The part that kills me. We have courts games.

Speaker 3 (53:09):
Yeah, usually there were game shows that were court cases.
So that was Judge Judy's whole stick. I mean, call
it what you want. That was a game show for
retards suing each other.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
But yeah, but yeah, that would you would see him?
That would almost make sense, wouldn't it, Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy? Yeah,
take it the wapner.

Speaker 3 (53:32):
Yeah, yea. My question is why did Russey the bailiff
have a gun and was there ever an occasion where
he needed to use it?

Speaker 2 (53:42):
Yeah? That would be a people's court after hours. Yeah,
that's a premium. Well, yeah, we're We've got a lot
of political crossover, so I guess we got to keep
up with it, don't we.

Speaker 3 (53:57):
Well, you want to take a quick break because my
beer is empty?

Speaker 2 (54:01):
Oh yeah, we are there, aren't we there?

Speaker 3 (54:04):
And we do have a we do have Rick behind us.
Rick and Jenner are gonna be on tonight too. Okay,
I got it, Yes, take it quickie, so I could
wet my throat and we can get through the last
bit perfect. All right, we'll do that everybody else, Go
get your refills, hit the lobby, load up, and get
back here in about three minutes, and we'll be here
for you.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
On the Culture Shift.

Speaker 5 (55:00):
Who is to bar the shore hold? Is the talk
on the door? She along on love.

Speaker 6 (55:08):
At this base, man, but maybe it is wrong, but.

Speaker 7 (55:13):
You know it's about that.

Speaker 6 (55:22):
Bank steach high at the time an to tell somebody say, well,
I'm gonna give me if I seem out of line.

Speaker 5 (55:33):
And you win.

Speaker 7 (55:34):
You're a god like a broad.

Speaker 5 (55:44):
Lady.

Speaker 7 (55:47):
Dude, dude, lay out so now that your.

Speaker 5 (55:53):
Good guys go over.

Speaker 7 (55:56):
All her, y'all knowing love about your lover.

Speaker 6 (56:00):
No put me wise towards another disguise.

Speaker 5 (56:03):
Took the bottom. We ask.

Speaker 7 (56:25):
To take a meal?

Speaker 3 (56:29):
We do, we do?

Speaker 7 (56:29):
We all night a bottle.

Speaker 5 (56:33):
She's here.

Speaker 2 (57:43):
Right, we are bad. On the Culture Shift, our producer,
Jeff pro producer of the most appropriate theme songs for
the breaks and the content. Well done, Jeff, All right,
where the hell are we? We got so much going
on here?

Speaker 3 (57:59):
Man, Oh you know what, Let's go up to Canadia.
They've been in the news a bit lately.

Speaker 2 (58:05):
Oh yes, what's up with syrups?

Speaker 3 (58:07):
Stan Zerrups stand Syrupean.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
You know.

Speaker 3 (58:12):
Okay, So there's actually a really good piece in the
Hollywood Reporter on how you post the rider post COVID
post the right the strikes of twenty twenty three. Yeah,
how the film industry has had a hard time recovering,
and now you have the fires in Los Angeles too.

(58:35):
But Canada is doing a lot better than even they expected.
There's been productions opening up all over the place up there.
I mean in places that you wouldn't think either, like Ottawa.
I mean, yeah, everybody knows Toronto and British Columbia, so
that's like you know, Hollywood East and West up there,
but you know in Manitoba and Ottawa, I mean just

(58:56):
all over. They're getting a lot of tracks up there,
and you like some some of the provinces up there.

Speaker 2 (59:04):
Yeah, they's that's been the case for a couple of generations.
Now they refer to Vancouver, for instance, Hollywood North, just
because they have so much dam production there and little uh,
little piece of trivia, I guess, or easter egg. If
you watch that opening credit for Deadpool, you know when

(59:29):
he's going through the car and you just see all
of the debris flying in slow motion cgi that beautiful scene.
I think it's like a matchbook or a business card
or something, and you see the logo on it, and
it's actually from a strip club in Vancouver that was
near where they were shooting, because they just said to

(59:50):
give it out. They spend so much time there, apparently
on the production it is. It doesn't make sense talk about.

Speaker 3 (59:58):
Dead There's another story I punted tonight where the creator
of Deadpoole is severing his ties with Marvel. He feels
sliding over saw.

Speaker 2 (01:00:07):
That headline like two minutes before we came on, and
I was like, oh damn it, that would have been
good one too. Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:00:15):
His treatment at during the premieres and during everything during
a Deadpoole Wolverine, he feels very slighted, saying that Fox
never treated him like that, and he's ending his relationship
with Marvel.

Speaker 2 (01:00:31):
Makes perfect sense. The most popular franchise they got going
right now, let's piss them off. What are you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:00:40):
The only Marvel movie that's doing anything.

Speaker 2 (01:00:43):
Let's fuck with it, the one they got right and
is not woke. Let's screw the guy over. Perfect makes
makes perfect sense. Also makes for a good segue in
a few moments here. But yeah, the the Vancouver stuff
makes sense once you factor in. Yeah, the wildfire situation
in California. We were talking about it recently about how

(01:01:05):
all the shooting days in la has just ground almost
to zero because of everything.

Speaker 3 (01:01:09):
Yeah, we were talking about the two weeks ago.

Speaker 2 (01:01:13):
Yeah, so Canada is like, bring it, We're ready, we're dying,
we've been on the hook for so long. Now let's
get it going. And yeah, there's a stampede up there
now because they've got the goods. And it's just I mean,
I think Hallmark owns half of Vancouver anymore.

Speaker 3 (01:01:30):
Well, yeah, I mean between Hallmark and sci Fi, they
divide up Vancouver mostly, but I mean Vancouver. You know,
talking about Vancouver, they're opening up twenty new sound stages.
They got thirty acres that they're gonna be opening up on.
There's a lot of production going on up in Newfland
and Newfoundland and Labrador. It's just like that whole.

Speaker 2 (01:01:55):
That's the part I can't totally grasp farely.

Speaker 3 (01:02:00):
It resembles the Northeast. I mean it's in the Northeast,
so it resembles the Northeast enough. It's still cheaper than
like shooting in Vermonern, New Hampshire, Maine. It's like they
filmed the Reacher up a lot of Reacher up in Newfoundland.

Speaker 2 (01:02:14):
Huh yeah, just like talking about.

Speaker 3 (01:02:17):
Manitoba, they said that it resembles every Midwest or rust
belt town.

Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
So there you go. Well, yeah, that seems to track,
isn't it like an older blue color city, right, yeah,
kind of kind of makes sense. Yeah, so this might
be the one way we can get the two countries
to come to a peaceful agreement. Let's say, because the

(01:02:45):
other day they had a hockey game and they were
actually booming the American anthem. Yeah, well you call it people.

Speaker 3 (01:02:55):
It's ironically that's where they filmed The Handmaiden's Till too,
of w.

Speaker 2 (01:03:00):
They do, that's fitting right, yeah. No.

Speaker 3 (01:03:05):
But apparently to tie it all up, apparently Canada is
taking a lot of business from the UK and Eastern
Europe and good.

Speaker 2 (01:03:16):
You know, well that's the surprising part. I mean, Eastern
Europe is the thing that gets me because that was
the that's where everybody went for the direct to video stuff.

Speaker 3 (01:03:27):
Yeah, I mean obviously because that's where kind of where
it takes place too. But you know, Netflix filmed the
Witch are there and World War Z was filmed in Croatia.
You so, I mean, yeah, it's that they've been doing
a lot of business in Eastern Europe. But I guess,
you know, Putin's got people scared, even though he's been

(01:03:51):
ground to a halt in the Ukraine for the last
two years. So but you know, a little too politically
unstable over there, a little scary. So we're just gonna
go up to Adote, where nothing is scary except the Bears.

Speaker 2 (01:04:05):
Sure, but we were just talking about Deadpool and how
Disney has pissed them off. Headline. Disney lowers their content
spending estimate by a billion dollars for the coming year,
didn't Yeah, they just talk about how they gave Tiger
a shit ton of a budget.

Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
Yeah, they gave him a thirty raise, you know in
the nine was eight figure salary, So they gave him.

Speaker 2 (01:04:39):
Was that I think it was a forty one million
one time, wasn't it. Yeah, And now he comes out
to announce we're gonna do a lot less this year.
How Joe Biden off, you go enjoy the beach. I
guess Bob against Bob.

Speaker 3 (01:04:57):
Yeah, it's I mean that billion dollar lesson spending that
it's including sports rights too, which is weird when you
own ESPN.

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
Right, and sports is about the only thing doing any
business on television, So why.

Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
Would you, Yeah, that's the weird parting to go watch.

Speaker 8 (01:05:21):
The All Acolyte.

Speaker 2 (01:05:24):
Yeah. But after that, though, they seem to be getting
this corrected. I mean, they had a good summer with
two monster hits, and the winter time went well. They
had Mawana that was cooking, and it looked like they
might be getting back to some semblance of what they
used to be. And now they're going to do less.

Speaker 3 (01:05:45):
Yeah, less is more. You know, in many ways that's
not wrong, because if they had agreed to do less earlier,
we probably wouldn't have had She Hulk and The Acolyte.

Speaker 2 (01:05:56):
I guess. So sometimes less is more, Ie, it depends
on what you're selecting, I suppose. So, yeah, if you're
gonna do less woke material, I might have to applaud
you for it. How about that? Yeah, I'll have to
reserve judgment for a change. I'm not not used to
doing that, but I will.

Speaker 3 (01:06:16):
Oh, go ahead and judge.

Speaker 2 (01:06:19):
Yeah, So I mean all the stock you make more
damn money and do less work.

Speaker 3 (01:06:23):
Yeah, that's Hollywood.

Speaker 2 (01:06:28):
Yeah, the industry spook the investors, I suppose, is what
you gotta say.

Speaker 3 (01:06:33):
They've got well, no, no, no, they're actually quite bullish
on it, you know. Yeah, they've they've put Disney back
on a buy rating with one hundred and forty dollars
price target.

Speaker 2 (01:06:44):
Believe it when I see it, Yeah.

Speaker 3 (01:06:47):
Because all they have to do is release their next
And you know, another story I punted on was the
New Captain America.

Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
I think we gave that good shaking glass show.

Speaker 3 (01:07:02):
Yeah we did shake that baby nobody.

Speaker 2 (01:07:05):
Yeah. M but in our kind of our theme of
the show. Everything's acrossover with politics anymore. I I kind
of enjoy this. One of the things Trump did after
coming to office. He has set up political envoys for Hollywood,

(01:07:27):
including Sylvester Stallone nice and basically said, we're going to
make movies great again.

Speaker 3 (01:07:38):
I'm you know, it's too bad art last time around.

Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
I'm, you know, like, politically, I'm not there when Trump
is like, okay, some things. I like. The guy's a
troll and a half, though he cracks me up so much.
This is one of those you just know it's pissing
off the right people. Is what it comes down to,
it's like, damn, I gotta like this guy. It's just
you're gonna make me.

Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
I don't agree with that idea, but I do appreciate
the troll.

Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
I mean, I I just imagine Hollywood going are you
could agree with dis Ussel and it just makes it
all the sweeter. So yeah, that's going on. And then
another reaction, The National Endowment for the Arts has revised
its guidelines for grants, placing funding priority on those projects

(01:08:34):
that celebrate and honor the two hundred and fiftieth anniversary
of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Yeah, oh
my god, that's jingoistic. Good well, yeah, can you.

Speaker 3 (01:08:47):
I mean, think of everybody who's expecting to get their
grands for you know, like a crucifix soaked in urine
or whatever. They Oh, yeah, we're just gonna crush it
this year, you know. And if we don't get it
through the NEYA, we'll get it through USA and we'll
be fine. And nope. But yeah, the uh, they're calling
it the Trump effect. The national downing of the Arts

(01:09:08):
is to focus in largely on America two fifty and
they have to you know, Applicants can include incorporating the
America two fifty related component or focus within a larger project.

Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
I don't see a problem. I mean, I'm sure the
arts community will. Yeah, they're gonna be you just know
there's gonna be those pissed off. I don't believe they're
making a celebrate America while they're giving us American money.

Speaker 3 (01:09:43):
Right, I didn't sign up for jingoism.

Speaker 2 (01:09:48):
It's kind of like the women who say, keep the
government out of my uterus and by the way, pay
for my abortion right to understand what you're saying, and
it's the same.

Speaker 3 (01:09:57):
Can't have it both ways.

Speaker 2 (01:10:00):
Give me the cash and don't tell me what to
do with it. Oh so you're fourteen year old, I understand.

Speaker 3 (01:10:06):
Okay, yes, yes, here's your allowance. Here's five dollars, go
watch a star war.

Speaker 2 (01:10:13):
But I mean I kind of remember nineteen seventy six
when they were you know, the Bisentonio was a big thing. Yeah,
so I guess this makes sense. Although they're calling this
what semi quinn centennial. Yeah, just just go it. Two
fifty's that's cool.

Speaker 3 (01:10:34):
Well, I mean, there's the actual legitimate name for it.

Speaker 2 (01:10:38):
I know that, But it's.

Speaker 3 (01:10:40):
The there's what stupid people like you, and I will
remember America two fifty fucked. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
I mean it's like when you try to decipher the
Roman numerals after Super Bowl. I feel like grunk. Oh
it's super Bowl. It licks, but okay whatever, semi semis.
I know it's two hundred and fifty.

Speaker 3 (01:11:04):
Years, just go to I can only say half of
that because California had something similar to that other plates
for our one hundred and fiftieth bias.

Speaker 2 (01:11:14):
It was just what you need some I'm sure there's
a name.

Speaker 3 (01:11:23):
I'm sure I cares when Tenniel or something like that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:28):
But I do enjoy the Uh. I kind of just
enjoy that fact that they're forcing this on people. It's
gonna be come on, you're gonna celebrate it. You're gonna
be happy, Go have fun, comb your hair.

Speaker 3 (01:11:39):
You will enjoy it.

Speaker 2 (01:11:42):
Gotta do it.

Speaker 3 (01:11:44):
What was a curly set of the Simpsons? Those tall
ships really but you know, inspired people coming out of
the malaise.

Speaker 2 (01:11:54):
Man. I remember the Simpsons quote in a while, you should.

Speaker 3 (01:11:58):
Listen to, uh, the Vincent Charles Project. Whenever we got
Jennell laws On. That's almost all Simpsons now with Red October.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
Well, there was keeop with the movie theme pretty big. Uh,
I don't know. Marvel looks like they may have finally,
can we cross our fingers, all four of them may
have gotten the Fantastic four correct?

Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
Yes, maybe I mean to be wrong. I was excited
about the trailer for the last one too, but yeah,
but I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
So they uh, they dropped the trailer for the new one,
and it has exploded with excitement. They got something like
over two hundred million views, which is only eclipsed by
Deadpool and Wolverine. So this is a smash. The whole
concept is this is a throwback. This is like what

(01:12:58):
forties fifties era looks like.

Speaker 3 (01:13:00):
Yeah, it's got that kind of art deco feel with
the stylized cars and the you know, kind of Jetsons
without the flying cars. Yeah, I mean, very very space age,
very plastic, fantastic.

Speaker 2 (01:13:15):
I'm very much into the retro vibe on this one.
They the uniforms are more of a pale blue. They've
got white on the shoulders, white cups on the feet.
Kind of a good look there. But yeah, the whole
aesthetic of this movie is cool as hell. It's all
throwback and feels right and yeah, it looks pretty damn

(01:13:38):
good to me. Yeah, granted only a trailer, but nonetheless
I think Pedro Pascal is the main name in this
whole cast.

Speaker 3 (01:13:48):
Yeah he is.

Speaker 2 (01:13:50):
Yeah, the dame I recognize from what is it, Hobbs
and Shaw, she played the the British. Yes, yeah, yeah,
it's a I gotta be. I can't say excited, but
it's like, damn, I'm interested. I made optimistic yeah, as always,

(01:14:13):
you know, my cynical ass self got to be. However,
there's a little bit of a controversy brewing because there,
well this is if you watch a trailer, there's a
there's a big nod to the space program because how
they acquire their powers, and this is the centerpiece for

(01:14:36):
the first act of the movie. Of course, the one
sheet the origin story, Yeah, and that's what this is
called too, So this is how they're basically selling the movie.
And the one sheet has a bunch of people in
fifties and sixties attire, waving banners and such, and people notice,

(01:14:59):
yeah that that posters AI yep, because when you look
at it, you know, these are all people that are
cheering and they're they're their heads are tilted to the sky.
Forty five kare angle watching lift off, and they started
to notice, like there's a couple of faces that are repeated,
and uh geez, there's the there's the indicator, there's the

(01:15:20):
sixth finger. A couple of the hands have four fingers,
some have six.

Speaker 3 (01:15:25):
Oops, well everybody has four fingers, but not unless you
got some Spaniard looking for you.

Speaker 2 (01:15:35):
I don't understand why hands are so difficult for Ai.
The thing that kills me all the time, it's the hands,
and asking for it to just simply print words you
would think would be the most basically like if you
give me a newspaper with this headline and it cannot
get the words right, I don't understand that part. Make

(01:15:58):
a trophy with this on the play and the black
will never read what it's supposed to do. Why are
there two ways? Why is this in cyrillic? What are
you doing?

Speaker 3 (01:16:11):
But why is it Sanskrit?

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
But of course this is a superhero movie, so you've
got guys that are going to blow this up in
high definition and analyze every corner of the poster, and
they're like, yep, he's missing a finger. Up if he's
got six.

Speaker 3 (01:16:30):
That is called the crowdsource to autism of the Internet.

Speaker 2 (01:16:36):
And of course Marvel now denies it up and down. No, no, no, no, no, no,
we would never we would never use AI because that's
in the contract to say we.

Speaker 3 (01:16:47):
Yes, that was it, that was part of the whole strike.

Speaker 2 (01:16:51):
But it's uh, these are this is AI. I'm sorry
those mistakes are And how do you have have a
whole studio with your billions of dollars property and you
don't have one of these autistic kids looking over things
like this?

Speaker 3 (01:17:11):
Well, here's my question, your Disney. Could you not find
an artist.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
To draw that for you? I'm pretty sure that's what
you're known for.

Speaker 3 (01:17:23):
You might have one or two end house ask around.

Speaker 2 (01:17:26):
I mean, this isn't you know, done up in Disney
animation style by New Strudge. But at the same time,
but it's not a photograph and it's not true art.
I mean this thing is AI. You look at the
poster and its yeah, that's it's not AI.

Speaker 3 (01:17:41):
Where did you find so many four fingered people and
six fingered people?

Speaker 2 (01:17:46):
Oh man? Controversy? Holy cow.

Speaker 3 (01:17:50):
You know, anytime you think you do something right, there
will always be somebody out there to fuck it up
for you.

Speaker 2 (01:17:55):
Damn it. This would be a great movie if it
wasn't for our fans.

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
Right, it's Disney's mantra for the last five years.

Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
All right, Well, we're going to start wrapping things up here,
so let's get into streaming, shall we. Yeah, numbers, the
figures that are in. I'm kind of surprised I'm not
hearing more of this, but I'm also not surprised it's there.
But Squid Game number one.

Speaker 3 (01:18:25):
Wait, not even close. I mean it is three billion
minutes viewed, more than the next closest person, next closest show.
Uh yeah, Squid Game season two. They got sixteen episodes. Now,
so as we always like to couch it when a
new season comes out on these the whole series gets

(01:18:46):
a bumping minutes watch from everybody watching doing refreshers on
the previous season. So yeah, with the sixteen episodes, and
you can guarantee there was a lot of binging in
preparation for the new season. But for the week December
thirtieth of January fifth, four and a half billion minutes watched.

Speaker 2 (01:19:06):
Yeah, that's that's the number. We haven't seen too often.

Speaker 3 (01:19:09):
No, you know, the last time we saw that number
was the first season Squid Game.

Speaker 2 (01:19:14):
Ooh see, hey parallel, how about that? Well, I think.

Speaker 3 (01:19:19):
Jeff quick graphic nice.

Speaker 2 (01:19:22):
This thing is a true worldwide popular phenomenal, So yeah,
that would justify that number. I mean, this is what
is It's a cream production, right, yeah, but yeah, this
thing is taken off global. It is just huge. So
this is a cause for the disparity in numbers. So yeah,

(01:19:44):
four point five billion basically four to six yeah, huge, number.

Speaker 3 (01:19:49):
Two round appetally five million minutes and make it uh four.

Speaker 2 (01:19:56):
But the difference is that number two is Virgin River
one point four billion. Yeah, very big drop off. And
then I'm about to get this one. Yeah, I am
too been. I've been stalking up the episodes and I'm
probably gonna start pouring into that Sernie. I can't wait.
Then there's missing you. Isn't this the uh the big

(01:20:18):
lawsuit movie? Yes, the one that thought? Yes, I swear,
I can't get away from this news. I don't care
about Blake Lively suing anybody.

Speaker 3 (01:20:27):
I just don't care, right, I don't care about Ryan Rolls,
I don't care about just fucking I learned celebrity gossip
against my will, which is funny because I do an
entertainment show.

Speaker 2 (01:20:36):
But same. But I just don't do gossip at all.
So I'm watching Yeah, way, I want numbers. I don't
need this, right, I'm watching Trump sign an EO and
then they cut into okay, well we got an update now, Hey,
Blake Lively is suits moving forward?

Speaker 3 (01:20:54):
Yeah, this is the this is the new Johnny Depp,
Amanda Herd.

Speaker 2 (01:20:59):
They want it so bad, don't they? They just really do.

Speaker 3 (01:21:04):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:21:04):
Then there's the cleverly named evil Number six is Special Ops, Lioness,
Black Doves, No Good Deeds, Silo and Beskin. Don't know
hardly any of these, that's how Yeah, entertainment.

Speaker 3 (01:21:17):
I mean, we know land land Man obviously missing you
because of the controversy. Everything after that I'm familiar with,
but I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:21:27):
I mean, I I've heard of it. It's popped up
on my you know that the Lioness. I know, I've
seen that advertise pretty heavy enough.

Speaker 3 (01:21:36):
So you know you're right because I was watching Deep
Space nine the other night and that popped up as
a wreck on Paramount.

Speaker 2 (01:21:42):
You're right, Yeah, I think they've even might have pushed
it through in a football game or two. You Hey,
only on Paramount. As for a choir series. How about
this Disney Plus Top of a Heap, bluey As always got.

Speaker 3 (01:21:58):
To this has never moved ever ever again billion minutes.
They might as well just crown it and move on.
I'm a little surprised though.

Speaker 2 (01:22:09):
Yeah, I'm gonna say that's because that's what Queen Latifa right.

Speaker 3 (01:22:14):
Oh, because it just came on Netflix.

Speaker 2 (01:22:17):
Mm hmm. But I think it's still playing on CBS standard.
No it's not, but yeah, but I mean it's a
it's a network show. And then ittle jump to PARAMOUNTA
and now they've moved over to Netflix, so yes, it's getting.

Speaker 3 (01:22:32):
Yeah, you got you got current season on Paramount and CBS,
and then I think Netflix just started running. I think
they got the first two.

Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
Seasons Gray's Anatomy. As we were talking earlier, look at
that four hundred and thirty nine episodes of that show.

Speaker 3 (01:22:48):
As Jeff putting the chat Gray Hair Anatomy.

Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
Yeah, app the now is this Dexter is at four?
Is that the old show it's gotta be.

Speaker 3 (01:23:01):
Yeah, I mean ninety six episodes, so yeah, that's including
all the old ones too.

Speaker 2 (01:23:04):
Because they've got the new it's the dexter prequel.

Speaker 3 (01:23:08):
Okay, but Okay, So Dexter was on Showtime?

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
Mm hmm, why is it on Netflix? Paramount?

Speaker 3 (01:23:18):
Oh that's right, Paramount got the uh the Showtime.

Speaker 2 (01:23:22):
Deal, right yeah they I think they've done a bund
They bundled, now, haven't they?

Speaker 3 (01:23:28):
Yeah? Yeah, so all right, that tracks.

Speaker 2 (01:23:31):
Then you got Bob Berger's Big Bang Theory Lost. Hey,
how about.

Speaker 3 (01:23:36):
Previously previously referenced lost. Hey look at that, Jeff, You're prescient.

Speaker 2 (01:23:41):
Trouble give up on that because they never win anywhere?

Speaker 3 (01:23:45):
Well, I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Same with a lot. Color me surprised, that's all I'm saying. Yeah,
we got Family, Guy, Friends and SpongeBob of course, and
on the movie side, Horizon and American Saga chapter one.

Speaker 3 (01:24:04):
What oh this is is that the almost ran They
almost ran out of space for that title on this board.
They don't have to go onto a smaller font.

Speaker 2 (01:24:14):
But that's it, Isn't that the captain the Kevin Costner
Cowboy series.

Speaker 3 (01:24:18):
No? Is that part of Elisa? No?

Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Not, It's It's just I thought it was Why did
I think it was his hand? Yeah? It's pretty movies? Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, okay,
because this thing bombed in theaters, that's the funny part.

(01:24:44):
But it's on HBO Max the film series. Okay six,
Triple eight. This surprises me because that's the movie about
the heroic male sorders of World War Two.

Speaker 3 (01:24:58):
Yeah, careful, but it's tied with carry On.

Speaker 2 (01:25:04):
No, I mean, I'm yeah, not any judgment or anything.
It's just I find that just the most curious of content.
So they're sorting mailed during the war. Yes, heroically, So okay, okay,
carry on, Furiosa. This is another one that bombed in

(01:25:26):
theaters that's doing well on streaming. Huh.

Speaker 3 (01:25:29):
Well, okay, so this is again look at the dates
December thirtieth through January fifth. You got your tail end
of your everybody's Christmas movie out.

Speaker 2 (01:25:39):
Everybody's still home.

Speaker 3 (01:25:41):
Everybody's still home. They're still sponging off their parents streaming services,
and they're catching up on the movies before they go
back for the next semester. That's why you got Red
one stilling there at number five.

Speaker 2 (01:25:52):
Yes, you do. Interstellar. This is a little bit of
an odd one ten year old movie sci fi by
coming back, but once it's Paramount and Netflix together, it
seems like that's just magic.

Speaker 3 (01:26:05):
Yeah. June Part two.
