it's almost.
Speaker 2 (00:22):
Hit big, big week. Uh you know, I gotta put
my shades on them and get right there you go
big week. College football was dope, high school football has
been good, but NFL this week, let's go. Let's jump it.
Speaker 1 (00:43):
Let's get the granddaddy of them. Are yes, sir?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Ready for.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
Uh?
Speaker 2 (00:50):
No?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Thomas Stevens this week. Uh was preparing some mysterious presentation
and Wyoming somewhere I don't know.
Speaker 2 (00:59):
Yeah, so nice and nice to know he's spreading it around,
getting out to the I don't think I've ever been
to Wyoming.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
He's trying to open up that territory for us.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Man, gone plant that seed, That's what I'm saying. We
need some listeners from worowmen, so that'd be nice.
Speaker 1 (01:16):
And you know, cats and trees and Wyoming needs saving.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
Two, do not listen to the words on the street.
Wow mean cats need saving two.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Well, yeah, man, we thank you all for listening, thanks

you here your first time, thanks as well. Yes, sir,
find us on YouTube and everywhere you can find your
your podcast, subscribe, follow, comment, and yeah, we're excited for
(01:52):
this one. So this week we're just gonna run through
our game picks for week one. Man, first, before we
drop into the NFL, did you have a chance to
watch any college football?
Speaker 2 (02:06):
I did get a little bit. I watched a little
bit of Georgia that was that was fun to watch,
and got a little bit of one of the night
games might have been then L s U game. Okay, yeah,
definitely definitely. You know, the young boys is ready. It's
(02:28):
always amazing to me how just they recruit a new
class and these cats come in week one ready to perform.
Speaker 1 (02:36):
Yeah. Absolutely, And I'm still getting used to the the
transfer portal and the n I l like seeing college
players and commercials and seeing players you forgot transferred into
different uniforms. It takes. It's still taking time to get
used to.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
Game has changed forever. I mean to the point that
you hear some of those old school coaches like thinking
this might be you know, a rap, you know, like
they're not really appreciating this error and just ready to
move on. But we'll never go back and glide to
these brothers. Yeah, students are getting compensated.
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, speaking of that Georgia game Clemson, ain't it like
with dabble swingys. I think his inability to evolve with
the way the game is changing and so of course
affecting recruiting. But he takes no transfers through the portal.
(03:37):
He doesn't believe in nil and it's affecting his recruiting.
They got no speed on the outside of the skill positions,
no speed on defense. Like it is. It is ugly
and well, you know, they say you either evolved, you
get left behind and die.
Speaker 2 (03:55):
That's pretty much what's going on down in Clemson. Used
to be a time to cleon in Georgia. Game was
even match Man, But Georgia just looked like there was
an whole.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Nother league, right, and that wasn't that long ago, correct, right?
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Right? Because three years ago, Yeah, those two teams combined
for four out of the last eight championships. So it
just lets you know that Clemson has been there quite recently.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
Yeah, it's gonna be a good year. After two weeks,
Florida State is already out of the top twenty five.
And I always said, like, I hate the college football
does preseason rankings because what are you ranking right, reputation?
So I always felt they should wait at least until
(04:47):
after week four and started the rankings. But essentially the
real rankings gonna matter to the college football playoff rankings.
Speaker 2 (04:56):
Come out anyway with the twelve game playoff this season,
so looking forward to games at the end of the
season still being very important.
Speaker 1 (05:06):
Yeah, And what's really gonna be fun is when there
were four teams, the fifth and six teams complained. Now
just be the thirteenth and fourteenth things.
Speaker 2 (05:19):
It'll be fun, definitely be someone always complaining. But at
least you'll have I think we're gonna have some surprises. Yeah,
every year, there'll be some surprises. And that when you
get young, young athletes in a one game playoff, you know,
(05:40):
just fun things tend to happen.
Speaker 1 (05:42):
Yeah. Yeah, and why is the field yeah, and uh,
you know, like you said, great things happen. You have
more opportunities for spectacular plays and endings of games and upset.
So I'm looking forward to it.
Speaker 2 (05:58):
Here you go, yeah, chess cool man.
Speaker 1 (06:01):
Let's jump right into it. Season kicks off Thursday, Thursday night,
the Ravens and the Chiefs. What a way to kick
off the season. Yes, who you got man? And why
the game's in Kansas City Thursday night at eight twenty.
Speaker 2 (06:18):
I mean it's in Kansas City. I'm looking forward to
a really good game, probably going down to probably the
last possession. But I'm gonna go with Patrick Homes in
Kansas City at home, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (06:34):
Yeah, my heart and my head says Kansas City heart.
Just because not that I love Kansas City, I just
hate Baltimore. So I hope Kansas City can go in
notch a loss in Baltimore's belt. But it should be
a good one man. Of course, to the top quarterbacks
in the league. I think it's really gonna come down
(06:55):
to their playmakers's. Baltimore finally have the receivers that can
kind of give Lamar some support. Of course, now he's
got Derrick Henry in Kansas City with no Hollywood Brown
k and the rookie xavier' worthy kind of step up
and supply that speed they need on the outside. But
(07:18):
this is gonna be interesting. Kansas City got some questions,
but they both have questions on the offensive line now,
so it's gonna be interesting. But I think Kansas City
pulls it off and home.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
Yeah, And I think I think Baltimore does have upgraded
the talent in terms of the skill positions to help Lamar.
I just think it's going to take a good month
or so for them to really start clicking. And I
think trying to go into Kansas City, I think the
(07:48):
safe bet is Patrick Mahomes, So.
Speaker 1 (07:50):
Yeah, yeah, absolutely all right. And the next night. Like
the NFL's they're always evolving. Man. It used to be
we get the the opening game on Thursday and gotta
wait till Sunday for the rest of the games. But
they coming right back with us on Friday night. The
Packers the Eagles in Brazil, so that should be fun.
(08:17):
Who you got, man, not really at home game, the
Eagles are technically the home team, but really on a
neutral field. Who you got?
Speaker 2 (08:29):
You know? I like what Philadelphia have done to improve
their the weapons that they surround Jalen Hurts with, and
they got a new officeer coordinator Kellamores there now, so
I think they're going to trend to be explosive. But again,
the offense usually take some time to get together, and
(08:53):
so I'm going to lean with Jordan Love continuing his
uh breakout performance, going from a lot of momentum gain
at the end of the season, beating Dallas and doing well.
I think it was against San fran So I think
they got a lot of momentum coming into the season.
(09:17):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna go with Green Bay, which
is gonna be upset. I'm going with the Packers on
the upset this one.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna have to agree with you, man. The
Eagles are I know everybody they had loaded on paper.
I don't trust their head coach m It's something about
in big games and big times, and I just don't
(09:44):
trust it. But I think Jordan Loves comes out on fire,
like his young receiving corps. I like the the young
running back they got Marshawn Lloyd and Green Bay as
rumbling as that before the end of the season, he
will be starting ahead of their price free agent.
Speaker 2 (10:03):
I can see that.
Speaker 1 (10:04):
Jacob So yeah, yeah, and I like that, like the
talent they got on that defense. The Eagles are loaded
on paper, it should be a good game, but I like.
Speaker 3 (10:17):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Next, moving on to the Sunday games, the one o'clock
schedule starts off with the Carolina Panthers at the New
Orleans Saints. Somebody, somebody said it's a JV game, but
we'll talk about it anyway.
Speaker 2 (10:33):
It's just disrespectful.
Speaker 1 (10:35):
Hey man, it wasn't me.
Speaker 2 (10:36):
I just heard now and you said somebody.
Speaker 1 (10:38):
That's what somebody somebody. You don't blame me. Uh sorry, money?
Uh who you got Carolina or New York's.
Speaker 2 (10:53):
Now and it's in New Yorkans, it's in New Orleans.
Let me just say, I think the Panthers at the
end of the season will be better than the Panthers
you see at the beginning of the season. I think,
I'll Brice your own will continue to develop. I do
(11:13):
think they've made some improvement. But at home, David Carr
the Saints. I'll go with the Saints on this one.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
Okay, I want to I'm waiting for a game. I
disagree with you, but yeah, I agree. Take the Panthers sometime.
I think they definitely improved, but not not this week.
This week Derek Carr seeking the king of the checkdown
can avoid the mistakes. But yeah, I think it's New
(11:50):
Orleans and I don't. I don't even think it's close.
Speaker 2 (11:55):
Mm hmm. Okay, yeah, the.
Speaker 1 (12:00):
One o'clock schedule that the Vikings headed to the Giants,
i'd be another JV game. I don't know. But who
you take?
Speaker 2 (12:14):
So I think the popular pick hm hm. So I
think the Vikings are favored in this game, and in
this particular game is at New York. Oh, they lost
JJ McCarthy. But Sam Donald is better than people give
(12:39):
him credit for. But I'm gonna go with Yeah, I can't.
I know, people might think I'm just a Giants hater.
They're at home is probably people want to think this
might be the game. But uh now I'm going with Minnesota.
(13:00):
I think Sam Donald does enough with Jefferson the the
other wide receivers. They got a good running game to
support it. I'm gonna go with the Vikings.
Speaker 3 (13:14):
On this one.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Okay, first game we disagree on. I'm gonna go with
the Giants simply because they're at home. I think Darren
Jones I think he makes one fewer or one less
costly mistake than Sam Donald, although I think they're both
gonna make some mistakes, but I think Jones doesn't make
(13:40):
as big of a crucial mistake as as Donald does.
And I think the Giants gonna make some noise on defense.
So yeah, they've added Brian Burns, so that's a huge
game for them. Uh so say it's a close game,
but I say the Giants win ugly.
Speaker 2 (13:59):
Now I didn't pick the Giants. While I didn't pick
the Giants, I will say I do think they're going
to be better than people expect to share. And I've
heard as low as four games, some people six seven,
and I put them in at seven eight range. I
think they're going to be better than people expect.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Okay, oh, your face is blurred. I don't know if
it's blending in with the background. There you go, yes, sir,
right right right, this next game. So four years ago,
(14:42):
if you would have said Patriots Bengals, you would have
thought it's gonna be a laugher, but for the opposite reasons. Right,
But now Patriots Bengals. The Bengals are legit contender and
the Patriots are trying to find their way still, but
they don't play games on paper. They play him inside
out of televisions. Who are you taking, Patriots or Cincinnati
(15:07):
in Cincinnati?
Speaker 2 (15:08):
Uh, not even close. I'm going with the Bengals. I'm
not even sure if Jamar Chase is back, if he's
signed up or not, if he's expected to play, doesn't matter.
Going with the Bengals. I think they got too much
on full sides of the ball. The Patriots. I do
think they made the right decision to not start May
(15:31):
yet mm hmm. But yeah, it won't be close.
Speaker 1 (15:36):
Yeah, I don't think so either. Bengals by long shot.
And there ain't much else to say. The Patriots are
a mess right now.
Speaker 2 (15:45):
Mm hm.
Speaker 3 (15:47):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
In your neck of the woods, my Stellers go down
to Atlanta. Heye oclock I talked the key on today.
He said, uh, well, he texted me. He said the
schedule for or his family, his wife and kids to
go apple picking on Sunday, and he forgot that the
season opens Sunday and Pittsburgh was coming to town. And
(16:10):
he changed it till next week because they play on
Monday and the whole family's matter. He was like, screw it,
the apples won't be there next week. I'm changing the schedule.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
So now that's a man that has his priorities right.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
Point exactly, So they don't understand they will.
Speaker 2 (16:27):
Want day yeah, one day, the don't get it right
and laugh about it.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
I'm sure exactly, Dad, Remember that time you changed the
half schedule? Watch the facons? Yep? But yeah, man, who
who you taking? How much you're expecting the Stillers to
win by right?
Speaker 2 (16:45):
I mean I think what they're really going to be
laughing that they're going to say, Dad, you remember we
stayed home to watch the fountains and they lost. Because
I'm picking the Steelers, I think that the Dealers have
done some solidifying and some holes on the defense. I
(17:06):
like the Russell Wilson starting the season. See what he'll
see what you got there? They got solid wide receiving
core that I think should get enough first downs to
win this game. And I like their running tandem. So
I think Nase and his name Jalen, I like that combination,
(17:32):
and so I think they'll put up points and they'll
be a close one. But I think Russell is able
to do just enough to get a win. On the world.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
Yeah, I agree, and really all bids decide to think
of if Pittsburgh can get some symbolism of reliable quarterback
play and just be able to sustain drives and score
touchdowns instead of turnovers at door field goals consistently. With
that defense, they're always going to be in games, you know.
(18:10):
And Atlanta's added some pieces, especially on defense. Matthew Junon,
Justin Simmons huge gets for them. And they still got
you know, those three top ten picks on offense will
be John Robinson, Drake London, Kyle Pitts. So they've got
some weapons of good offensive line. I just think Pittsburgh's
(18:33):
defense is going to be too much, and I think
Russell Wilson plays steady and George Picking goes off.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Yeah, yeah, I could see that.
Speaker 1 (18:42):
Yeah. Sunday and one opening up, man so early division
game Texans at Coats, who you got should be a
good guy.
Speaker 2 (18:55):
I think that will be a good game. I like
what so with the Texans, and I think they got
better and so I'm gonna go with the Texans in
this one. I think it's a it's a solid defensive struggle.
(19:15):
I'm expecting I'm not expecting the offensive to be all
that explosives as they start this season on both of
those teams. I think by mid season too, probably the
end of the season, I would imagine these two offenses
will be playing a whole lot better as Anthony Richardson
(19:36):
gets his stride. But I also think CJ. Stroud and
Diggs I think will build even a greater rapport later
in the season. So I think both of these second
second year quarterbacks I think are trending up. But I
think in this game it's probably gonna be more defensive
focused and not a high scoring game. But I do
(19:57):
think the Texans pull up. I like Will Anderson a
lot in what he brings to the defense. I like
Singletary in terms of the back end. So I think
they got some weapons and I just think they'll make
the plays on the defensive side to win the game.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
Yeah, although it's in in Indianapolis, I think the Texans
are just too talented, adding Joe Mixing in the backfield,
Stefan Diggs a receiver, as they've just got weapons go
Lore and in Houston they've had some pieces on defense
(20:36):
as well. And Anthony Richardson's coming back from you know,
season any surgery last year. I don't know if he
just hits the ground running like that. So I think
Houston pulls us one out. As we got Arizona going
to Buffalo, that should be a good who you got.
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Yeah, I think it's gonna be. I think Buffalo is
going to win this one by ten. Plus I'm excited
to see Marvin Harrison Junior play. I think Kyler Murray
and him will make a awesome dynamic combination again. But
(21:21):
I just believe wilde receivers take some time to get
into a groove with their quarterback, and so I just
think the common theme of my comments today is that
I distink with some of these offenses. While there's some
dynamic wire receivers that came into the league this year,
they're going to take some time to groom and really
(21:43):
get into a groove. So I'm going with Buffalo big
on this one.
Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah, and I agree, I shouldn't say this is gonna
be a good one. I'll say this should be a
fun for watch because of but yeah, I don't think
it'll be close, especially this early in the year. The
weather room where they play a factor in Buffalo, so
you know, allowed Josh Allen to cook and he's you know,
(22:09):
of course missing Stefan Diggs. So that receiving corps is
gonna it's been reshaped. They've lost they lost Diggs, they
lost a couple of other receivers too, But it's Kean Coleman.
It's like the biggest new name there and now. But
(22:29):
I just think with Josh Allen and that defense, I
think it won't be close. Yeah. Yeah, one o'clock Titans
go to Chicago. Who you taking?
Speaker 2 (22:45):
I think this is gonna be one of the more
intriguing interesting games because I think while people going to
check in because they got to see how Caleb Williams looks,
I'm kind of like will Levis also right, and so
(23:05):
I think he's going to show some people like who
he is this year. So I'm expecting a big year
from Levis. But I think he's also the type of
athlete competitor that is going to show up because he
knows the other quarterback is coming in with a lot
(23:28):
of hype and a lot of attention, and I just
expect that to motivate him and him to play well.
And so I think it's gonna be one of the
surprisingly fun games. I'm still going with the Bears because
I think their weapons is going to their offensive weapons
I think will be more than what defense the Titans
(23:51):
defense has to match up, and so I would expect
them to be able to put some points up in
while it might be like a shootout, so not really
a shootout like of in the forties. But I think
it's going to be a close game. But I think
Kayla pulls it out and gets his first dub in
this first one game.
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Yeah, I think this is an underrated game. You know,
like you said, will Lewis still got the Azel, got
Hopkins still there. Calvin Ridley is joining that team now.
So they got ship the left hand of the big
(24:28):
left tackle they got at Alabama. Guy's name the draft
pick this year. Yeah, yeah, I forgot. But yeah, so
they've got some added pieces there. But again it's in Chicago.
Chicago's got a bunch of pieces they added as well. Yeah,
it's gonna come down to a quarterbacks. Will Levis take
(24:48):
that next step and uh, you know, can Cankayler Williams
see the ground running and and and show that maybe
he can be the first ever Bears super a star quarterback, legit,
superstar quarterback. So we'll see. But I got to take
Chicago on the closer.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Yeah, they definitely deserve a superstar quarterback at this point, right, Yeah,
would agree.
Speaker 1 (25:18):
Jacksonville in Miami, who you taking?
Speaker 2 (25:24):
You know, this Jacksonville franchise with Trevor Lawrence has probably
been the most confusing, disappointing franchise for me because I
just had a lot of high hopes for Trevor, and
while he had injuries and you know, his share challenges
(25:45):
with other injuries on the team, I'm I really don't
know what to make what to make of Jacksonville. And
then you have on the other side a team that
looks to be offensively hitting their stride with the right coach,
getting Tyreeque to us just playing just you know, phenomenal.
(26:09):
The running backs just seem to be playing phenomenal. So
they got some draft picks and got the offensive line
kind of solidified a little bit. So I really like
the way Miami is building their team with the youth
and for the senior years as they need to bring
into events. So I'm gonna go with I like, I like,
(26:31):
but I see in Miami. I'm going with Miami to win.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Yeah, you know, I'm excited to see what Jacksonville can
offer with the changes and additions they made. Of course,
they lost Calvin Ridley, but they added Brian Thomas junior receiver,
excited to see what he can do. But at the
(26:57):
end of the day, all that ship through. Man, the
Miami's got too much speed, too much innovation on offense,
like it's they might put up fifty. Yeah, it could
get ugly. I'm going Miami, and I ain't got much analysis.
I'm going to Miami. At the four o'clock schedule began,
(27:18):
We've got Denver going to Seattle the Russell Wilson Bowl
without Russell Wilson. Who you take.
Speaker 2 (27:30):
I'm a little high on Seattle this year, and so
I'm bo Knicks does have me curious. I do think
he has some decent wire receivers to play with and
a coach who tends to understand certain types of quarterbacks,
(27:52):
and I think bow Knicks might be that kind of quarterback.
But I just think the and If Walker show is
going to be enough for them to grind out and
win and get Gina on enough play action opportunities to
make some throws down the field. So I'm going with
(28:16):
Seattle in this one.
Speaker 1 (28:18):
Okay, I'm a little higher in Seattle than most people too.
I think, for one, Bion Murphy's a beast at defensive
tack of the rookie. And one thing leads me wondering
about bow Knicks and that Denver offenses in preseason. It's
(28:43):
I ain't gonna say it's easy, but teams of defenses
are really vanilla and and in preseason. So the checkdown
is the easy reason he was that bo Nicks is
getting in preseason. Oh that's gonna go away, especially in
this against the Seattle be friends who might McDonald. I'm
(29:03):
I don't think it's gonna be pretty at all. So yeah,
I think Seattle and I don't think it's going to
be close. Got the Raider is going to the Chargers.
Will you take it?
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Oh? Raiders? Charges not high on the Raiders at all
this year. I'm not really sure what we want to
get out of Jim Hopbag back in the NFL. But
I do think that Justin Herbert is a superstar when healthy.
(29:48):
From what I understand, he's coming back from a little
foot injury, looking good in practice. So I'm going to
go with the Chargers. I think LA polls went out.
I think it'll be closed division game. I'm interesting how
(30:08):
they got the Raiders charges it all right, but I like,
I'll take justin.
Speaker 3 (30:18):
The while.
Speaker 2 (30:20):
They got some wide receiving replacing the dude, right, So
they lost Keenan, they lost Mike Williams, so it'd be
curious to see what Herbert's able to build. But I
just not a big believer in with the Raiders have
built this season. I think they don't have a quality
(30:45):
quarterback yet. Losing Josh Jacobs, I think is going to
come back to haunt them. I do like the brock
Powers pick up, but I just you know, how much
can a tighten add when you know your quarterback's not
all that yet and the defense is sometimey don't The
secondary still has holes. Mass Crosby like him as a
(31:08):
pass rusher, but that's pretty much all they got on
the defensive line. Defensive line. So I just think the
Raiders are a few years away and are uh in
the need to rebuild. I really think that's where they're
right now.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
Yeah. Yeah, And I applauded the Raiders for not taking
a quarterback high in this year's draft and then having
to build around him. So build up around him and
they get your quarter out. I applaud him for that,
and I like Rock Bowers, but I wouldn't have taken
him because I've always believed in building from the inside out,
(31:50):
and there were a lot of good offensive linemen they
could have taken and built that unit up before they
started selecting weapons. M because the soul depending on your quarterback,
so he could be rendered useless if you when I say,
scheming open and make a lot of easy reads for
the quarterbacks. And at the end of the day, I'm
taking I'm taking Justin Herbert over Gardner, Minshaw, Minshew, whatever.
Speaker 2 (32:15):
Yeah, that's a solid, solid, kidding solid, right.
Speaker 1 (32:19):
So if if Justin Herbert can find some receivers to
catch the ball, because Quinn Johnson looks god awful, so
we shall.
Speaker 2 (32:29):
See, that's amazing to me. I thought he'd be better.
Speaker 1 (32:34):
Yeah, better than this, Yeah, absolutely, I.
Speaker 2 (32:38):
Mean you know, but hands on, you know, I just
looked at them as a physical specimen, right. Yeah. If
you can't catch in the league, though, it doesn't matter.
Speaker 1 (32:46):
Yeah, and mentally, once you start getting the hips, it's
hard to get rid of it. So your Cowboys go
to Cleveland for twenty five while the cow win this game.
Speaker 2 (33:03):
Well yeah, so no surprise, I'm going with the Cowboys.
But I think when you are looking at the Cowboys
this season, I think this is the type of game
that it's gonna reveal a lot, honestly, right, So I
think if we if this is a season where some
(33:27):
people are predicting we won't even win nine games, then
this is the type of game we lose, and it'll
be one of them seasons where it's like, you know it,
I've seen this game before, and I've seen the season
start like this before. Dallas is up first half, starts
(33:49):
losing the lead in the third quarter, loses it in
the fourth quarter, somebody gets hurt in the fourth quarter,
and it's just the hey, how did we let Cleveland
beat us? And when we look back, that was the
beginning of the signs that, yeah, Dallas, y'all are gonna
have a terrible season. I don't think this is the case.
(34:09):
I really think that what we saw from Dak was
not an aberration. That he has consistently gotten better minuses
you know, the injury and stuff like that, and so
I think what you'll see from Dak will be a
continuation of last year in terms of most of the
time really good quarterback play. I think our running game
(34:33):
will be solid enough. Question that I think people rightfully
ask is have we replaced the offensive line departures from
the free agency, And so all this is to say,
I think we'll have enough to beat Cleveland in this
first game, which will be a running game, Dak making
(34:55):
really solid plays, and I think our defense is going
to be the best part of our our team. So
I think we'll do enough against Cleveland to win. Because
while I like Deshaun Watson, I'm not a believer in
what they have on the offensive weapons side of the thing,
(35:16):
and so I don't think they're explosive, and so I
think that well, our defense will matchup well against the
offense like that. So I'm picking Dallas.
Speaker 1 (35:30):
Yeah, I don't disagree with anything you said. I'm except
for I don't like Deshaun Watson as a player anymore
until he shows that I understand as a player he's
he's not there, hasn't shown that he's a shell of
even a shell of what he was his last year
(35:51):
in Houston. So if I can see that consist of me,
I started to have a little bit of faith. I
just don't see it, and I mean we've seen it
plenty of times before. We've seen Michael vick Leveon Bell,
guys who missed an entire season. They're never the same again,
(36:11):
especially at like those skill positions. So it's tough. Cleveland's
defense is always going to show up, especially at home.
But I think Dallas has the weapons and they've got
that man. People he's I'd say, I think that's that
is the most over hated player in the league. We
(36:33):
got overrated, underrated and overheted that over hated, but he's
he gets it done. You can say what you want
to say about them in the playoffs, but you can't
argue with the regular season results. And I think they
got the weapons the off the offensive line, the Tyler
Ganton looks good at their left tackle, Michael Parsons and
(36:55):
Miles Garrett on the same field, It's gonna be fun.
Speaker 2 (36:59):
I think. Hold on, I hadn't thought about that, but
I do now. You really have me looking forward to
watching that matchup with Miles going against Guyton and Tyler
Smith just on that side. I think, yeah, this is
this is gonna be one of them games where we're
gonna learn a lot. So yeah, I'm sorry, I ain't
mean to cut you off.
Speaker 1 (37:20):
No, I agree, and yeah, both defenses should be a
fun game to watch, especially if you like defense. You know,
especially with Cleveland at home, the defense is a different
beast when they're at home. So, but I think I
think Dallas in a close.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
Game, especially if Deshaun Watson plays without making big mistakes,
if if if he plays within himself, doesn't you know,
takes his lumps and you know, understands that this is
a rough defense to play against. And you know, I'm
(38:00):
allows the game to play out. I think it's gonna
be a really close game, and I just think Dabtas
will have enough. But yeah, it's it's gonna be interesting.
And I also want to see what we got with
CD coming back. I expect I expect him to be
coming right in our stride.
Speaker 1 (38:20):
Yeah, no, Nick Chubb and dak is I mean Zeke
is back. So a lot of storylines in a lot
of storylines, got the Washington commander is going to Tampa Bay.
Anything good to say about this game?
Speaker 2 (38:42):
Well, I think what is good is I think Jade
and Daniels is the real deal and so we What's
good is that you got tire Bowl to his defense
(39:02):
usually solid, Usually he will produce a solid defense going
up against this young, young rookie, and so I think
what's going to be good to see is how does
he handle different combinations and pressures and schemes that you know,
tabowls will will throw at him. And So I like
(39:24):
what I've seen so far from from Jaden and I
think because of who he's going to show himself to be,
I think Commanders are going to be better than more
competitive than people think, definitely better than last year.
Speaker 1 (39:40):
Yeah. Absolutely, I love Jane Dames. The man gotta learn
how to slide. Yeah, it could get ugly really fast,
but yeah, it's gonna be fun to watch him. Yeah,
Tampa is still you know, Baker, Baker Mayfield has been solid,
(40:03):
but it can he I think he is what he
is at this point. But it is that defense good
enough to carry that team most of the way. And
you know, Baker still got his weapons and Mike Evans
is still there. I'm just not sure if if Washington
(40:28):
is ready to go into somebody else's house and take
a victory. So I'm going with Tampa.
Speaker 2 (40:36):
Okay, Okay, I appreciate the.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
Yeah we got uh should be a good one At
Sunday night, the Rams going to Detroit, Matthew Stafford going
back to Detroit again who you got?
Speaker 2 (40:59):
And Matthew going back to Detroit. Jared and the Rams.
So this is that that, you know, great matchup of
two quarterbacks who were traded for each other. You know,
I do think it's going to be exciting. I think
(41:22):
the Rams have a defense that's so so, and I
still think they, you know, have some growing to do,
but that offense has weapons, and I like Cooper. Kyle
Williams is nice pooka and the cop looking forward to
him having even a better sophomore year. So we'll see
(41:45):
what he got to show up. But I'm going with
Detroit here because I just look at their team from
offensive and defensive side to be a lot more balanced.
I really like Aiden Hutchinson. I think they had a
great secondary, and so while the Rams are going to
(42:05):
get their plays, I just think the more balanced approach,
even with the running game that Detroit has along with
the wide receivers, I can't see that combination. I can't
see that not pulling through. So I'm going with Detroit
(42:27):
here in a close one.
Speaker 1 (42:28):
Okay, yeah, Detroit's at home. You know, this is one
of those games. Was hard not to scout the uniform.
You just remember Detroit being so bad, so I always
have to remind yourself Detroit is good now. But I
(42:52):
think the keys for Detroit for this game and all
season one, can they find some pass rush opposite hey
Nudginson consistently and so James Houston is back at the
missing last year do the injury they lost Cam Sutton
(43:15):
and then on the back end of that defense. So
they got some rookies back there that they hope they
can get some plays from. But their story is gonna
come on offense. Man Jared goff Lee in that offense
is uh, can they you know, with Samuel Porter, Saint Brown,
if if, if, if they can continue where they left
(43:37):
off Jimier Gibbs. They got some weapons, of course, that
offensive line is amazing. And the Rams, yeah, they've they've
got some They've got some spots of talent, but they've
got some holes as well. So we'll see. But at
week one, knowing what we know, I gotta go with
Detroit on this one. Yeah, h the rep out the
(44:02):
week your Jets go to San Francisco. San fran Hey,
bro Brandon, I you back just in time for Ricky
personal to be compiers how to get shot. Shout out
to him and those theo the brother luck because that's
(44:25):
lucky to escape back.
Speaker 2 (44:27):
And but the shout out to the law enforcement person
who really saved his life.
Speaker 1 (44:33):
Right, absolutely, that's that story.
Speaker 2 (44:35):
If you haven't looked into that story, that's a great
story about someone, you know, the public servant doing what
they need to do.
Speaker 1 (44:42):
It is like the whole thing was straight out of TV.
But yeah, we may not see Trent Williams, so it
could be an opportunity for the for the Jets to
walk in and and and still one.
Speaker 2 (44:55):
So who you got, so let me explain to you
how they're gonna do it. So I think while Ayuk
is back, Trent looks like he's gonna be back. But still,
you know, this is the NFL in football shape. Usually
(45:18):
takes a couple of weeks to get in football shaped,
so I'm expecting him to contribute, but not going to
be the Trent and Ayu that you'll see in December.
I think what the Jets have on offense that matches
up well with the San frank defense is a solid
(45:42):
running attack and an improved offensive line that can run
the run block, So I think that that helps. But
I also think they have a season veteran quarterback that
should be able to watch for trick defenses, disguises and
(46:05):
get them into the right scheme and attack the defense
the way they should in terms of the game plan.
So when there are opportunities to get it to Garrett
Wilson and Conklin and Mike Williams if he plays Lassard,
I think these opportunities. I'm looking forward to Aaron Rodgers.
(46:26):
Let's see what we got, you know, in terms of
his own but I think for the most part he's
he's pretty back and so I think that combination of
offense well goes well for us. And then on defense,
the Jets have a really good defense. And if you
take a sauce and you know he's on debo and
(46:48):
that's that's your job, then it's a matter of stopping
tight end kittles right and whatever you get out of you.
And then I mean, the best running back we talked
about this last week. I think McCaffrey definitely he's the
best running back. So again he's going to get his
(47:11):
but hopefully the Jets will limit in terms of the
linebackers that they have with Mosley and Quinn Williams. Quincy
Williams and then Quinn Williams. The defensive tackle hopefully will
make it harder run inside. So I think, you know,
everything being everything, the Jet's not going to be scared
(47:32):
coming out to San fran because they got Anon Rogers
to kind of lead the way. And again the running
game will allow for the Jets to milk the clock
but also stay in keep the game close, and calm
the nerves as they kind of get settled with the
new quarterback.
Speaker 1 (47:52):
Yeah, I don't think this is as much of a
mismatch as people might think. Of course, pinning how Aaron
Rodgers looks, Yeah, but he's still Aaron Rodgers, and I'd
be that Aaron. He's still Aaron Rutgers. I'll believe it
when I don't see it. Yeah. I think the biggest
(48:15):
question is gonna come where the Jets can get their
explosive plays outside of the number one receiver, outside of Garrett,
and can they get enough stops on defense? San Franza's
a plethora of weapons and they their scheme allows them
(48:39):
to be versatile, So can the Jets get enough stops
I'm not sure if they can, They've got the players
to do it. It should be a good and entertaining
game to watch. And I think we're gonna learn a
lot from this game. So at San Francisco's at home,
(49:00):
taking Sam Fran wouldn't shot me in the Jets walk
in the sneak one up, But I'm gonna take Sam
Frand knowing what I know. But again, it's why we
don't rank teams in the NFL. So so it should
be a good game. But I'm taking the Jet day
the nineties and a close one. Yeah, I hear you, Yeah,
(49:26):
but yeah, that's that's say. If we won. Man, you
got any plans for the game? Watching watching games at home?
Speaker 2 (49:33):
I'll be watching it home. I think, you know, we
have some good opportunities of uh to just relax, good
good matchups. So my hope is to just enjoy Thursday night,
Friday night. But really Sunday it's it's like you know,
the first Sunday. It slight, little holiday, so you know,
(49:55):
we gotta get dressed up and get jerseys laid out,
and you know, get all the fan gear ready to rock.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
No doubt, no doubt. Yeah, I'll be doing the same,
and I'll be at home right in front of the TV.
I you know, Linco is my watch buddy now, so
games going on't gonna be right there, So yeah, be
at the house and and I don't like watching the
games and the big crying a bunch of people, So
I'll be a house.
Speaker 2 (50:25):
All right.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (50:28):
So we got a a semi listening question this week.
So my wife asked me this question and I struggled.
I'm still struggling. I gave an answer, but I still
don't know my real answer because it's a different day.
So if if if aliens came from another planet and
(50:50):
they didn't know what music was, what's the one song
you would play for them to describe what music was?
Speaker 2 (50:58):
Oh right, I think I would. That is amazing. I
think it would have to be a song from the
(51:26):
seventies eighties where people were using instruments, right, So I
think that's part of it is that I would have
to really describe and allow them to get a sense
of what is music. It have to involve instruments for me,
people actually playing. I think though it would also, as
(51:46):
I'm just thinking it out, it would also require a
vocalist so that I could describe and help them understand
how the instruments and a person singing came together to
make music. But then I also think it would for me,
(52:08):
music at its highest, at its finest, is inspiring, and
so I would probably haven't just looked at the One
Love movie about Bob Marley, would probably bring.
Speaker 3 (52:28):
Out jamming on One Love, and it would have all of.
Speaker 2 (52:41):
Those elements of a instruments, people playing instruments, it would
have people, a person singing, people singing in those case,
it would have the inspirational side to it. And can
you know share the story how this song and this
(53:02):
musician was able to impact the world with music. Yeah,
that's great question.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
Yeah, I went through fifty million songs in a minute
now and I and my answer now is even different
than the one I gave her Because me being as
being who we are, I wanted to find an elemented
(53:35):
hip hop, right, but like you said, I also wanted
to find some vocals, instruments and substance. And so the
one song to me that incorporates all of those hip
(53:58):
hop some sort of vocals htheve They may may not
be the best vocals, but it's some kind of like
it's they're better vocalists. Stufff heard right, some instrumentation as
well as a story. Okay, and that was outcast. Sorry,
(54:18):
miss Jackson.
Speaker 2 (54:21):
Nice, very nice.
Speaker 1 (54:25):
But ask me tomorrow. Might have a different answer, I'm sure,
but yeah, you know, the the ability to tell someone's
personal story about another musician and make it relatable to
a lot of people. And I don't know if it
was a loud one in the question, but I think
(54:46):
the video is Jenius and of course the hip hop
in Corporation is there. But but again, you asked me tomorrow.
I'm sure I have a different answer, but that's what
I came. So, yeah, shout out to lady and for.
Speaker 2 (55:06):
Ye and if all those who placed the bet that
I was going to place a hip hop song in there.
Speaker 1 (55:14):
I just knew I lost that. Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah
that said man. Shout out to Pool. I hope that
but yeah, yeah man, we'll check in on you next week.
But yeah, everybody, enjoy your first week. That's my pardon shot.
(55:35):
Enjoy the first week of the season. I ain't got
nothing else, man, have a covin having good food, enjoy yourself.
I hope your team wins, and that's you are Baltimore, Cleveland,
or Cincinnati. But yeah, uh anything before.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
We go, No, man, just take care of yourself, you know, mentally, physically. Yeah,
get checked out, get checked up, check in on people.
So that's that's all I got, man. Just have a
great week and definitely enjoy to enjoy this first week
in a football no doubt, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (56:09):
Well, we will check back in on next week talk
about week one, previous season two. Until then, the fire life,
my life is
