(01:59):
For first week of the NFL season seems like to me.
I was telling Lincoln like the off season kind of
flew by to me. But once it hit preseason that
joone was creeping by. I cannot wait. So I was
called pool Sunday morning. I was like, Yo, I'm just
trying to find stuff to do to burn some time.
(02:21):
My mom's was here. I wanted to go see her.
I was like, Yo, just stay long as you want to.
I need to.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
Burn some time right right right.
Speaker 1 (02:29):
I ran out of stuff to do about twelve thirty.
It coastered me on good Yeah did I But yeah?
Good week? So you know how we do at Tell me,
what do you know that you know? After week one
of the NFL.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I know, I know that San Francisco is still a
really good team. I am I'm acknowledging that they came
in kind of banged up guys is just kind of reportant.
(03:10):
Caffrey didn't even play, but they bullied the Jets for
four quarters. And to me, when you're able to do that,
even though you know the Jets have some issues and
they you know, hopefully they'll be better by Game five
somewhere as they as they get more in sync. But
(03:31):
I was really impressed with how physical San Francisco played
the game.
Speaker 5 (03:37):
I was.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I'm always impressed with how Shanahan calls plays because I
don't think there's another team consistently that gets wide receivers
wide open like this cat does. And you know, after
watching them do that to the Cowboys last year, I
thought it was just something he just he just picked
(03:59):
on the cat Boys. But uh now he consistently gets
his wide receivers wide open.
Speaker 1 (04:06):
Yeah, absolutely, and especially somebody like Deebo Samuels, who's he
doesn't really separate well one on one, but he stay open.
He finally with him get him the ball.
Speaker 3 (04:19):
Very impressive, and you know, shout out to Debo because
he had a lot of rushing attempts, and I just
think that's extremely impressive for him to be uh an
elite wide receiver but also to run as physical as
a running back as he does.
Speaker 1 (04:40):
Yeah, that man's football player. Mm hmm, game game, cop
for life, absolutely all right, no doubt. Cool. What do
you know? You know after week one.
Speaker 4 (04:54):
Man, Cooper Cup, it's still legit, man, He's still a monster.
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (05:00):
You know, I missed a lot of games last year ankle,
a few injuries going on, but he's still a tough
cover man seven eleven man stays open.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
Yeah. Absolutely. After Pooka went down, things went right back
to how they used to be. M Yeah, along with
the young guy Tyler Tyler Davis well not really young
anymore in his fifth year from Minnesota, but I remember
him coming out of the draft and he just disappeared.
(05:34):
I think he was on a train on a practice
squad roster all last year on Temper and came out
with six hatches seventy nine yards like yeah, yeah, kind
of stepped in a little bit in the Pooka's role,
but yeah, Cooper Cup is still that dude.
Speaker 2 (05:50):
Yeah and pool.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You know, for those who think he's a fluke. Yeah,
I don't think so.
Speaker 4 (05:58):
No, he came, don't fire, Yeah, no flu Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:06):
I could go a million ways with what I know.
I know at the Week one since we learned so
much and Week one is so defenditive, right, but I'm uh,
I'll just say this as talented and as I'd say
I want to say, like, how should I put this
(06:31):
as talented? And as much as they would look forward to,
this quarterback class is still rookies. They got a long
way to go and this ain't preseason no more. And
look at Caleb and Jalen and all of them bow
(06:51):
Knicks like everybody, they are still rookies and this is
not an easy game to just step into. So they
got a long way to go. So it's kind of
bittersweet to see all of them going through these these
growing pains, but it will play off in.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
The end, definitely.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
It's amazing how often how much people overreact o Week one.
I think that's my favorite Week one is to see
the teams, the fan base of the teams that lose
just yeah, chuck it in. It's all my I mean,
there's so many Falcon fans in Atlanta right now, just
giving up on the Falcons, and it's just like.
Speaker 5 (07:33):
It's really just week one.
Speaker 1 (07:35):
Like right, and especially and I think this season will
tell more of this story, of course, but especially like
people saying how bad Kirk Cousins look. It's gonna be
a lot of quarterbacks that look bad against that's still
as defense, and like overall, like teams are gonna look bad.
(07:56):
Offense is gonna look bad against that that defense and TJ.
Watt like he's gonna wreck a lot of games. So
until mhm, you know, if he gives you a month
of looking like that, then you worry about Kirk Cousins.
But you can't judge anybody off of Week one, one
game against the Steelers defense. That's arguably the best defense
(08:17):
in the league. So yeah, it's it's rough, like between
Kirk Cousins. Now, it's certain guys you gotta worry about
because it's been a trend, like Deshaun Watson, it's the
trend of him playing below standard. You know, you start
to worry about who they are. Yeah, you know, you
(08:43):
look at and some times you can just tell look
at Denver. You know, they're not one of the best
teams in the league. But they're young to rebuilding, so
some things you can kind of tell out the week one.
But uh, it's easy to jump a gun. So but
but uh, but yeah, you know, that's why I always
like to like to when we say what do you know?
(09:05):
You know, because in reality, we really don't know. Nobody
knows anything until the final horn goes off in February.
Speaker 3 (09:14):
I do know one thing, that one one thing I know.
You don't want to get caught speeding in Miami.
Speaker 1 (09:21):
And that's the truth many Tyreek Hill, Well, I think
Kanye said the best and uh and a song a
long time ago. Even if you in the bands, you're
still in a ninja in a coop. So I you know,
(09:45):
he acknowledged that he probably could have handled it a
little better, but definitely, yeah, he definitely could have. But
the the standard goes to the peace officer who's supposed
to de escalate. Standards don't don't follow on the civilian.
(10:09):
So but it was an ugly situation and you know,
luckily body cams are on and because as as I
heard someone say, if he was on in the back
of Alabama where nobody camps, no telling what could happen.
Tyreek Hill or not.
Speaker 5 (10:27):
Well.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
And I mean, I think it really is. It illustrates
what and I'm doing average air quotes, uh black man
is dealing with in this country when it comes to
law enforcement, because I think, I really think when I
(10:49):
looked at it, my first thought was, like, Tarreek is
acting like he's like he wants to be treated like, yo,
I'm somebody, right, I mean like in the sense of somebody.
We all somebody, But I mean I think he's like, nah, man,
(11:11):
black men get treated really different. And I think what
that video showed was just this is what it's like.
And I hope to your point people look at it
and can make some changes because there's a whole lot
of black folk who when they don't respond, that's how
(11:32):
they get when they don't respond to what the police
officer saying, get yanked out a car, thrown to the car,
thrown in cuffs.
Speaker 5 (11:38):
Just because or worse right.
Speaker 2 (11:41):
And so.
Speaker 3 (11:44):
Everybody don't get treated like that in this country.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
Absolutely. Yeah. Another headline before we move on, rest in
peace to James ol Jones and Frankie Beverly, two legends.
You know it's it's kind of yeah one' they've been
both been a part of all of our growing up.
(12:07):
So I just want to salute them, because, yeah, James O. Jones,
you think about Darth Vader Lion King coming to America,
then so but Staples and and Uh and I and
I growing up, and Frankie Beverly, Luckily I was able
(12:28):
to see him in concert. You know, Frankie Beverly and
Maze and m hm unforgettable. But you know, any anybody
that can do the same set for forty years and
sell out shows consistently, Yeah, that says something so shut
(12:51):
out to both of them. I didn't know Frankie Beverly's passed, Yeah,
yesterday today, yesterday, well late last night. Yeah, oh man,
I'm gonna call and check on my cousin. He's been
this tour driver for at least the last i'm gonna say,
fifteen years.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Wow mm hmm. I didn't know.
Speaker 4 (13:12):
But I saw in the in the in the in
the family chat. You know, everybody was doing the praying
hands and whatever you know, all day to day. But
I guess me, being a jerk, I didn't even look
in it, you know, right.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
I mean, no.
Speaker 4 (13:30):
Funny, but I had a lot going on, but I
didn't even look at it. But I bet that's what
it is. Yeah, so do that.
Speaker 1 (13:37):
And I'm kind of afraid because you know these things
you say, these things happen in threes, so mm hmm
kind of on hl Oh, well, yeah it's good two
week two, man if I picked some week two and
I thought something, who's gonna win? And why? Uh first
Tomorrow night on Thursday, Well, it will be today's games
(14:00):
by the time everybody here's this. So Thursday night football,
Buffalo travels to Miami. Both teams are one and up.
Uh out who you got Buffalo going to Miami?
Speaker 3 (14:14):
I am going with Miami in Miami. I think their offenses,
particularly their passing game, is strong, a lot a lot
of respect for what Touur and Mike McDaniels and Tyreek
(14:35):
got going on down there in terms of their rhythm.
And I'm just not that sold on Buffalo's defense ship.
Speaker 1 (14:43):
Gotcha poo what say you?
Speaker 4 (14:46):
I'm signed with Miami as well, at even though Buffalo's
passwords was to Dash's in the second half of last
week's game.
Speaker 2 (14:57):
But I'm still gonna go with Miami as well.
Speaker 1 (15:00):
Yeah, yeah, both makes sense. Moving on to the first
Sunday Sunday game one, class schedule. We've got Las Vegas
going to Baltimore. Both teams come in at zero and one.
Who whoo? Who you got? Raiders and Ravens.
Speaker 2 (15:21):
Go on Baltimore. I think that d is gonna be
too much fun.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
Got you?
Speaker 1 (15:27):
Yeah, straight to the point? Fair enough? Oh what about you?
Speaker 5 (15:34):
I'm going with Baltimore in this one.
Speaker 3 (15:36):
Also, I think we saw some signs of a decent
running game.
Speaker 1 (15:43):
Mhm.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
I think Lamar is going to play better. He definitely
missed a couple of passes last week, but I think
he'll read rebound from that. And I think Oakland. I
think Las Vegas. I don't think they have enough to compete.
(16:06):
I think the Baltimore's defense is strong, got quality secondary,
decent pass rush, second level linebackers is is legit. So
I don't think they'll stand up to the defensive pressure
and the offense will be enough to get Baltimore through.
Speaker 1 (16:31):
Fair enough. Next the one o'clock we got Cleveland traveling
to Jacksonville. Deshaun Watson coming off a nine quarterback ready
last week and another allegation O things is looking bad
in Cleveland. They travel to Jacksonville. Who you got?
Speaker 3 (16:56):
I'm gonna go with Ivan to Jacksonville. I'm going with Cleveland.
I think they first week jitters. I mean, you know,
coming out, they were definitely rusty. Deshaun did not.
Speaker 1 (17:18):
Look at the preseason, no.
Speaker 3 (17:21):
Start, definitely not look his best. I also, I haven't
checked on the injury, so if if they can get
one of their offensive tackles back, then I feel a
lot more confident in this pick. But I definitely think
Cleveland will play better. And it was more about it
being the first week in injuries than this is what
you should expect from that entire year.
Speaker 2 (17:42):
Right Uh?
Speaker 1 (17:44):
And Jacksonville actually favored by three in that game.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Who you got, I'm gonna go ahead. I'm ana roll
with roll with Cleveland as well. I know Deshaun was
going through a lot, but he has to break the trend.
Father died, the family relative passed away, and he had
a lot going on that week just flat out wasn't there.
(18:07):
So I know he's not been there for a while
the way he's been looking. But hopefully he can show
some resemblance of himself. I think the Browns d I
think they're going to be able to not really shut
him down, but do enough to win.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Yeah. Two part question, do you think we'll ever see
that Deshaun Watson from Houston again?
Speaker 4 (18:36):
I was hoping, man, but just looking out just I
think he just missed too much time.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
Yeah, missed too much time.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Second part of the question, how much longer before they
have to decide to make a move Benjamin going with
Jameis Winston if he continues to look that bad.
Speaker 2 (18:59):
I don't think is gonna make miss this year because.
Speaker 1 (19:01):
It's been seventeen games total, and I can remember maybe
one game and half of that game because Baltimore last
year when he was pretty dynamic. Everything else is underwhelming.
So you think they stick with it for the remainder
of the year.
Speaker 4 (19:18):
Yeah, we know what Jamis is.
Speaker 2 (19:22):
For that. I mean, played Deshaun for that.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Right, Plus you're paying him what fift a year or
something like that, you know, I think that's a big issue.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Yeah, and that's definitely a big issue. But Jamis aing't
will give you a nine quarterback greating like that's absurd,
like like it's absurd, but tall forty seven times you
get one hundred and seventy passing.
Speaker 4 (19:50):
I mean, I don't recall any picks being ran back
for touchdowns.
Speaker 2 (19:53):
So James at least gonna give you fourteen to twenty one.
Speaker 1 (19:58):
But he's gonna give you fourteen to twenty one on
the scoreboard too. For y'all, they definitely gonna give you
that now. And if you like that's what was like,
if you if it's if it's that bad, I think
Deshaun's e p A is expected yards per average was
negative twenty two, Like that's I can't I don't even
(20:21):
know any basketball players with that lord like different, Like
that's crazy. At that point, I might call Bernie koso Hm,
but sit, I'm Stealers fan. Let him play, right.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
I mean, also, you know, kind of like the comments
you said about Kirk Cousin and the Steelers, the Cowboys
are a really really good defense, and especially once they
get up on you, especially if you're not able to
run the ball, and they were not able to run
the ball, and I'm not sure I don't credit that
(20:56):
necessarily to our defense. I think it's more about Chups
not being in there as well as they're missing two
of their offensive linemen and so not the you know,
to attribute that to the to the non ratings, that's
a lot. But I do think some of that though
has to do with some of those other factors.
Speaker 1 (21:17):
Yeah, it wasn't justing because yeah, the line was bad,
the running game was horrible. The defense didn't show Like
I don't I can't think of any uh, you know,
I watched that game in four, Like, I can't think
of any positives for Cleveland that game. But you know
it's again. I'm still as fan. I hope it gets worse.
I don't care.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
I think that defense. I also expect that defense to
play better.
Speaker 1 (21:44):
Yeah they got to mm hmm yeah, next one in
one of class schedule, got all your Jets traveling to
Tennessee and the magnificent Will Levis who you got? Well,
both teams on one. I I like Levis, although I
(22:12):
think he's a blame for them losing the game last week.
But I do think he will be a decent quarterback
in this league and he'll be better by the end
of the season. I'm going with the Jets. I think
their defense is gonna have to come out and play better,
(22:34):
so I expect them to have a chip on their shoulder.
The Jets were not able to run the ball, and I.
Speaker 5 (22:41):
Just think.
Speaker 3 (22:43):
They came out real vanilla in this this that first game,
and maybe it's because they didn't have a lot of plays.
San Fran definitely consumed a lot of the play clock
and just couldn't get them off the field offensively. And
so maybe with a little bit more plays they'll have
(23:04):
be able to distribute the ball a little bit more
and get the ball in some of the playmakers. So
I'm going with a better defensive showing and Aaron Rodgers building.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
On his.
Speaker 3 (23:17):
Okay performances past week, and the Jets pulling it up.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
Okay, who what say you want the Jets as well?
I'm looking for that d to play better. I don't
think they did played well at all, real, Lewis, I mean,
of course, I'll watched the game played the Bears. He
really played a good game. He had one bad play.
You know, he really threw the ball on the one
(23:42):
when he did throw he threw the pick at the
end of the game the Jalen But he was just
trying to make a play, you know, it was really
good coverage, but he made one bonehead play and it
definitely cast him.
Speaker 2 (23:54):
But throughout the game he played really well.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
M That one bad play was pretty freaking bad. Yeah,
that was y'all had no business winning that game. I
had no business. But yeah, well I guess right that
you can get it right. And it's only so many
(24:17):
of those plays you can have before your before your
name becomes a verb. M hm for people start saying, man,
will Levis go and Will Levis like, oh, man, will
Levison out there? Like people going to start referring to
you as a verb. You continue to make plays like that,
so it's got to get better. Next play, next game,
(24:41):
one o'clock on Sunday, forty nine ers travel to the Vikings. Cool,
who you got?
Speaker 4 (24:49):
It's don't get ugly? Forty nine ers? Yeah, thirty thirty
to three?
Speaker 1 (24:55):
Oh he picking scores? Okay, Yeah, and I can't argue
with you. Yeah what it looks like.
Speaker 5 (25:01):
Yeah, I'm going with san Fran in this one. I
don't expect it.
Speaker 2 (25:04):
To be that ugly.
Speaker 3 (25:06):
But I do think they should not have a problem
with Sam Donald and the Vikings. Again, I just think
the physicality, the offensive rhythm, and yeah, the running game was.
Speaker 5 (25:27):
Very, very very impressive to san Fran.
Speaker 4 (25:29):
But but this is the game that this is why
they play the game. You know that the Vikings have
come out like animals, and you know, I mean Vegas.
Speaker 2 (25:42):
Somebody went big in Vegas if the vic Orders went out.
Speaker 1 (25:46):
Yeah, Sam fran on the road favored by six. So
you know, most games are close. But I just don't
picture the forty nine Ers running to a Sam Donal
buzz so so no.
Speaker 5 (26:02):
Sam Donald bulk. So it's not.
Speaker 1 (26:06):
So in another JB game, Well, at least the home
team got the Chargers traveling to Carolina take on the Panthers.
Who who you got? This is gonna be a nail back, man.
Speaker 4 (26:23):
I think the charge is gonna be too much defense.
The defense played well last week. I think they're gonna
run it down Carolina.
Speaker 2 (26:33):
Man. Chargers.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Yeah, that might.
Speaker 2 (26:37):
It's get ugly.
Speaker 1 (26:39):
It might be over somewhere between Jose and can you see?
Oh what do you think? Man?
Speaker 3 (26:47):
I like what I saw from uh Los Angeles the Chargers.
The running game with Dobbins was very productive. I think,
very balanced attack.
Speaker 1 (27:00):
Yeah, speaking of it, when cut you off, you said,
JK Dobbins, did you see him break like that seventy
yard run and then just break down and give out
like he was like I ain't ran as far as
his high ouch right? He was like come back, somebody
come tap, right, we'll go ahead.
Speaker 3 (27:17):
That was fine, and I'm you know, I'm curious to
see what brace young looks like at the end of
the season. They got to get him a running game.
Speaker 1 (27:30):
Uh.
Speaker 5 (27:31):
I like him. I like the young man.
Speaker 3 (27:34):
It's a quarterback, but I feel like his If they
don't step up and play better around him, I think
some more weapons would be nice. I'm just fearful that
his confidence and maybe just he even get beat up.
I just just I'm really rooting for him, but just
(27:56):
not looking good in that first week.
Speaker 5 (27:57):
I want to overreact, but it definitely didn't look good.
Speaker 1 (28:00):
Yeah, I mean he's you can ruin a young quarterback
mm hmm, and that could happen. Uh. I've got the
Seahawks traveling to New England, two teams that most won't
expecting to be one of up, especially New England. Will
you take him?
Speaker 3 (28:19):
I'm gonna go with the Seahawks. Definitely did that. Was
one of those people who picked against the Patriots last week.
So I'm gonna see if if I get it right
this week. But I like the combination of Kenneth Walker
and Gino Smith with the play action, and so I
(28:42):
think I am a little fearful that it is in
New England. But I just think that ultimately Seattle is
a better team and not I'm not a huge fan
of Jacobe.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
Yeah cool, what say you?
Speaker 2 (29:00):
I'm gonna go with Seahawks as well.
Speaker 4 (29:02):
Oh, I know Kenneth set out today with the issue,
so armon they might take over this week. But I
think some really close game. Brissette, he's he moves to
change though. You know, they keep drives going. I'm definitely
not impressive, but he's not like a hindrance so to speak.
Speaker 2 (29:25):
So they're gonna run the ball.
Speaker 4 (29:27):
Well, they're gonna play good d however, going to the
Seahawks mhm.
Speaker 1 (29:35):
And another one that should be a good game. We've
got the Saints traveling to your Cowboys a m hm.
Who you got.
Speaker 4 (29:48):
I think the Cowboys gonna get the w unlike last week.
I think they're well the Saints there. This is gonna
be a tough passing game for them to start. You know,
another week, Dad got paid. They're gonna get ceedee lamb going.
I don't know too much about the running game with
the Cowboys. With with Zeke, but he had a pretty
(30:08):
good game he did, you know, but I don't know
about that, but I think they're gonna be able to
smother smother the Saints passing game.
Speaker 2 (30:21):
Uh, Kamara Mayde.
Speaker 4 (30:23):
You know, he's gonna get his touches, he's gonna get
his runs, he's gonna get his catches. But I'm saying
the Cowboys pull it out maybe like seventeen twenty one,
seventeen twenty four gonna be a Thing's gonna be a
tight game.
Speaker 1 (30:36):
Okay, yeah, before before we get to it, dude. So
I had a pretty long back and forth conversation in
the comments last week with a Cali Cowboy eight oh
five so Cowboys fan. He got on me because I
was one of my statements last week was that always
(30:59):
gets it done, especially in the regular season. Obviously he disagreed.
He stated that it's just time to move on. So
what are your thoughts from that's new contract? And shout
out to Kelly Cowboy fan, by the.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
Way, shout out I am. You know, when it comes
to quarterbacks, I'm not a believer in just throwing a
good quarterback away just because unless you have something better.
(31:38):
I just feel like there's not a lot of good
quarterbacks out there. But if you have something better, then
by all me, I don't see anything better on our roster.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
Now.
Speaker 3 (31:50):
I am surprised that they paid him now. I really
expected them to let the season play out and then,
I mean, I just thought that's how Jerry Jones was
going to do it and then try to negotiate.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
But do you think if that he's there more than
two minutes?
Speaker 3 (32:16):
If I mean, I think he I think he wants
to stay in Dallas, So I do. I did imagine
as long as there was comparable money, he would pick Dallas.
I think it was a better play to pay him
now if you're trying to keep him, because the price
is going to go up and so he's not going
to get cheaper. And so I think it was smart
(32:39):
if this was their ultimate desire to have him, you know,
be with Dallas, to go ahead and get it done
for the security of it all and the cost.
Speaker 5 (32:51):
Of it all.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
But you know, while he has not played better in
the playoffs than he doesn't the regulusson. Yeah, he's just thirty,
so that you know, there are definitely quarterbacks who have
had that history and still won in a in a
(33:13):
in a postseason, and so you know, I'll take my
chances with Dak. I think he is beloved by his teammates.
He's an amazing leader. He stays out of trouble, and
that says a lot to me in terms of leadership
at the quarterback helm trying to have a steady, steady ship.
(33:35):
And so I'm not arguing that he's he's the best
playoff performer, but for a few for a few reasons,
I can appreciate the move that the Cowboys made and
we'll just we'll take it at take it as we can.
But I mean, you you you get rid of Dak
and you end up with Baker Mayfield or something like that,
you know what I mean.
Speaker 5 (33:56):
And it's like.
Speaker 3 (33:58):
He did look good, but he he don't look better.
And I think and MVP right, and and and that
had a great season to your point last year. And again,
the players around him love, they love him, They really
enjoyed playing with them. And so for a whole lot
of reasons, I'm not upset that they paid him, and
(34:23):
I just hope that it is a contract that though,
that still allows them to keep talent around him.
Speaker 5 (34:31):
That's a lot of that's a lot of shame, no doubt.
Speaker 1 (34:36):
Well, you got in the game the Saints coming to town.
Speaker 3 (34:40):
Man, I do think it's uh. I think, you know,
there are some Cowboy fans who think this is going
to be an easy game. You look at what the Saints,
you look at how the Saints played. I think they
played really good good. I think Derek Carr is definitely
(35:03):
a quarterback who went healthy can light it up. I
think they have a solid physical defense, and so I
think it's gonna be a really good, good game, good
test for the Cowboys. But I'm picking Dallas to pull
it out on the road.
Speaker 1 (35:22):
Okay, all right, next game, NFC East Giants go to Washington.
Who are you taking there? Is pretty maybe who didn't
get to three first?
Speaker 5 (35:36):
Yeah? This is you know, both of these teams lost.
Speaker 3 (35:43):
The Giants looked terrible, so it's kind of hard to
pick them. So I'm gonna pick the Commanders because they
didn't look as bad as the Giants this week. And
so I'll I like Jayden and so I'll for the
sake of liking him as as a player, root for
(36:04):
him and and hope they beat the Giants this week.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
All right, who you got?
Speaker 2 (36:10):
I'm gonna go over Young Jay and Daniels as well.
Speaker 4 (36:12):
I think Washington's gonna be able to score, and I
think the Giants will not.
Speaker 2 (36:21):
Got to score the wins.
Speaker 1 (36:25):
Yeah, all right. Also, at one o'clock, the Buccaneers travel
to Detroit. Take on the line. Who you got, I'm
gonna take the Bucks.
Speaker 4 (36:42):
I'm gonna take I'm gonna take the Bucks. I think
they're gonna be able to score. You know, enough on
on on Detroit. But I think they do match up
pretty well, you know, in their in the secondary, you
know what, when feels out, I'm picking Detroit.
Speaker 2 (37:06):
Yeah, Wind feels out.
Speaker 4 (37:08):
I don't know if he's gonna be out for several games,
but I can remember on Fantasy Football playing the DP
he's out.
Speaker 5 (37:15):
He's out.
Speaker 2 (37:16):
So I'm going Detroit.
Speaker 1 (37:18):
And Detroit's favored by seven and a half at home.
Speaker 5 (37:21):
Yeah, uh yeah, I'm going Detroit. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (37:29):
Their offense has a line up full of weapons, and
as long as Golf continues to distribute the rock, they're
gonna be hard to beat.
Speaker 1 (37:41):
Right, and one of the best old lines in the league.
Speaker 5 (37:44):
M hm mm hmm.
Speaker 1 (37:50):
Indianapolis travels to green Bay without Jordan Love. Well what
it looks like.
Speaker 3 (38:01):
Yeah, without Love, it's a totally different game. I'm going
with the Colts. Not a huge fan of Malie Willis,
who's green Bay's backup. M Now, we'll see, we'll see
what we got going on. But until he shows it,
(38:21):
I'm not a believer. So I'll go with the Colts
in this one.
Speaker 4 (38:26):
Right, cool? Who are you taking thin? I stacked the
box stop Josh Jacobs. I think Josh Jacobs still goes
for one hundred. However, Colts win, I don't think they're
gonna be scoring. I don't think green Bay scoring much.
Speaker 1 (38:43):
Yeah, my league might not go for a hundred. Belie
Willison might not go for a hundred passing. So yeah,
this might be ugly, but that's that's green Bay's fault. Man,
today's game. You gotta have a Bible backup. You don't
go into your season when Elie will as much as
I want him to succeed and I like him coming
out of college, he's not ready. You don't go into
(39:05):
the seasononship. No way.
Speaker 5 (39:09):
I'm not sure what they was thinking on now.
Speaker 1 (39:11):
Yeah, especially now, go out and sign round Tannahill. Why
not have him be your backup? I think that's crazy,
But again, I'm still a fan. I hope it gets
worse I don't care. Four o'clock staring the four o'clock
games got the Rams traveling to Arizona? Pooh, who are
(39:36):
you taking?
Speaker 2 (39:37):
Taking Rams? Rams?
Speaker 4 (39:39):
D look really really good? All look really really good.
Even though without the core. The Rams have a have
a bevy of receivers, so they're gonna be fine.
Speaker 2 (39:51):
Matthews slinging it. I'm going to Rams, no.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
Doubt, We'll say you.
Speaker 3 (39:58):
You know, I think me and who were like ticked
every pick the same so far. Yeah, so I'm gonna
I'm gonna have to break the cod right here and
go with the Cardinals. I agree with him. The Rams
played really well. H Cooper Cup went bananas, but expecting
(40:22):
Kyler and Marvin to get connected at some point and
get more involved. And this this might be this might
be the week. So uh, for the sake of it,
just we can't go all the way down this thing
and just pick pick, pick, pick the same.
Speaker 5 (40:39):
I'm gonna go with the Cardinals in this.
Speaker 1 (40:40):
One right oh, next one game of the week. Every
week Pittsburgh travels to Denver primetime at your T J.
Whitt versus Boat Nicks And I'm just kidding, who hell,
who are you taking.
Speaker 3 (41:00):
I'm going with Steelers. They did they did?
Speaker 5 (41:07):
Who did? They did? They go with Justin.
Speaker 1 (41:10):
Right now? Looks like Justin Russell was limited today.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
Okay, Okay, yeah, I mean I think Justin played well
enough that he should get a shot. And but I
like what I saw in terms of that defense, and
so I think from a defensive perspective, they should make
it hard on the rookie quarterback and even though I
(41:36):
think he did a decent job first first week out.
Speaker 5 (41:38):
Both, but I'm going with Pittsburgh.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Yeah, both both. Next the checkdown, merchant, Uh, you gotta
go past ten yards? Look out, pool what you think man?
Speaker 2 (41:53):
T J and Hot They're gonna wreck the game. They're
just gonna RecA it.
Speaker 4 (42:01):
Harris goes for one hundred yards, might even get two touchdowns,
man stealers.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Okay, argue with you. And another one. That's a pretty
important game for Cincinnati traveling in Kansas City. Bengals came
out last week and later egg so they go oh
and one traveling to Kansas City, of course, obviously with
(42:30):
the threat of being oh and to star at him
in the face for who you got.
Speaker 2 (42:36):
I'm going Bengals.
Speaker 4 (42:38):
Okay, I'm going Bengals or Jamar's back. I think Higgins practice.
I think Higgins is back. Not quite sure, but Joe
was like seventeen or nineteen, but he didn't have anyone
to throw it too, Like he didn't have anyone to
make a play, you know, a bunch of young guys.
(43:01):
I mean, Jamar did played, but of course, you know
we said he said out. He wasn't really ready to go.
But I think Tea and chases back and for some reason,
the last few years they've been able to They've been
able to have success against the Chiefs, even though there's
a different Chiefs team defensively, m hmm, I think I
(43:22):
think the Bengals will be fine.
Speaker 2 (43:23):
I'm gonna go ahead and pick the Bengals for the upset.
Speaker 1 (43:26):
Okay, yeah, I will say you.
Speaker 5 (43:29):
I'm gonna go with Mahmie. I liked.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
I liked how they spread the ball around against Baltimore.
I think the defense was solid.
Speaker 2 (43:44):
I think.
Speaker 3 (43:47):
Since he's still out of sink, so I'm gonna go
with I'll go with the Chiefs in this one and
those one. I think it'll be maybe even a playoff.
At you they might see each other late in the year,
but I'm gonna go with the Chiefs.
Speaker 1 (44:06):
Okay, yeah, Paper, it should be a good one. I'm
not sure it was just chunk up last week's game
to this one of those films for Cincinnati you just start,
don't look at the family. H uh oh. Pool's Chicago
Bears travel to Houston this week should be a good one.
(44:31):
Who you got both teams want it up. Mm hmmm
mm hmm.
Speaker 3 (44:40):
I think Houston has too much so I'm thinking that
with c J. Stroud and Digs, you know, that connection
will only continue to get stronger. I really liked Houston's defense,
(45:01):
particularly that pass rush, and I think Caleb is still
figuring it out. So they did step off last week.
The defense special teams did what they need to do
to get that win. But I think I'm going to
(45:21):
stay with the home team on this one and go
with Houston.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
Okay, Pool, I know y'all ain't picking the same on
this one, So.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
I knew this was coming. I knew he was going
Houston and I knew I was going Bear. So I
do we were going to have this conflict here?
Speaker 1 (45:42):
He's ready?
Speaker 4 (45:43):
Yeah, yeah, But of course, of course I'm going with
the Bears.
Speaker 2 (45:48):
I think last week was a one off against the run.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
You know Pollard for some reason, man, he always had
success against us. Man, I don't know what it is,
but I think we're gonna play well against mixing this
we against the run. I think we match up well
with their receivers with with with Johnson and and and Stevens.
But like, I think we have two Pro bowlers on
(46:11):
on at corners and probably wanted safety with Brisker, so
we had one of the one of the best.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
Slot guys in the game with Gordon.
Speaker 4 (46:22):
I just think we're gonna match up well against him.
The thing is all, we're gonna score. I think Caleb
plays better. I think the line plays better. Even though
those guys are coming. But I think we're gonna be fine.
I think we're gonna put off bout three.
Speaker 5 (46:36):
Okay, who y'all got running the rock?
Speaker 4 (46:40):
We got Swift, Swift, well, he have six week six
Cary last week he just we just you know, got
behind and didn't run.
Speaker 1 (46:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (46:54):
I like some Yeah, I like you.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Like you got a pass rusher opposite sweat to Taylor.
Speaker 2 (47:06):
He's an animal.
Speaker 1 (47:07):
Yeah, who is that?
Speaker 2 (47:11):
He's an animal?
Speaker 1 (47:12):
They traded from the Seahawks right before the season and
like a six round pick. Yeah, two sacks.
Speaker 2 (47:19):
Man, yo.
Speaker 4 (47:21):
He he reminds me of uh Crosby. H. Like, what
I'm saying is his motor. His motor is crazy.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
What's his name, Darrel Taylor?
Speaker 4 (47:34):
And yeah, he's on. He's on every tackle. He's one
and one hundred miles per hour. He's the one who
calls the he calls the He cost the fumble as well,
you know. He m M And I was like, we
got this guy for free. Yeah, he's an animal, man,
(47:55):
He's an animal. Uh.
Speaker 1 (47:58):
Last game of the week got the afore mentioned Atlanta
Falcons traveling to Philadelphia come and fresh off of a
trip to Brazil. Um hm, whoo who you got?
Speaker 4 (48:15):
I'm going with Philly. However, it's going to be closer
than what everyone thinks. I think, mm hmm. I think Atlanta.
I think they're gonna be fine.
Speaker 2 (48:28):
Man. I think Kirk's gonna sling it.
Speaker 1 (48:30):
You know.
Speaker 4 (48:30):
But like I say, man, every time my channel checked
to the Steelers game, t J WHI was in the backfield, Like, so,
I mean, Philly's Philly is good, but they don't have
anyone like that on the D line. So I think
Kurt's gonna be able to get the ball off, and
I think it's gonna be close, but they're not gonna
outsport Philly.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
So I'm going to Philly.
Speaker 1 (48:53):
Yeah, Like the NFL voters forwards just need to stop
playing and overthinking. T J was the best defensive player
in the game. It ain't close. It was ridiculous.
Speaker 4 (49:05):
I kid, wow, man, I was like I was in
awe because I was like the tackle hadn't even got
out of his stance and t J was bending and
I was like, already bomb.
Speaker 1 (49:18):
Yeah, and think I mean without the two penalties, he
would have had three sacks, three forced fumbles recoveries, three
tackles for lost. It was ridiculous, man. And who are you
taking Atlanta? Phil?
Speaker 3 (49:35):
You know, I'm I'm gonna go with the upsurd alert
and roll with the Falcons on this one.
Speaker 5 (49:45):
And I think.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
While they pulled the win out in Brazil, they didn't
impress me though.
Speaker 5 (49:57):
And I'm not I not sold on green Bay. So
I like the fact that.
Speaker 3 (50:05):
Green Bay took them to the limit, you know, like
it was. It wasn't a blowout type game. I'm just
not I'm not sold yet on Philly. And I do
think the Falcons to to everybody's point, going against Pittsburgh defense,
(50:26):
you can't judge what you saw just on based on
that game. They are the fans news giving them the
business down here in Atlanta, and so I think they're
going to respond to that.
Speaker 5 (50:38):
I think Kirk tends to play.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
Better with a little you know, kicking and kicking the
rear tight type things.
Speaker 5 (50:46):
So I'm bijon.
Speaker 3 (50:49):
Robinson wasn't the Bijeon that I'm expecting, So I think
we're going to see a little bit of that. And
so i'm i'm I'm I'm a road with Atlanta. I
think they have the to me the wide receivers that
can match up like I don't think Philly matches up
well with those receivers, the receivers and Pitts. I think, well,
(51:15):
if they spread it out and spread them out, keep Jordan.
Speaker 5 (51:21):
Davis off the field.
Speaker 3 (51:22):
I just think there's some matchup problems if they attack
this Philly defense from a spread perspective. And yeah, yeah,
I'm I'm I'm going with Atlanta.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
Yeah, and Atlanta can't come out. Ray mcmcleod cannot be
your number one receiver. You can't get the most targets.
You gotta spread that well.
Speaker 5 (51:44):
So now when you got Drake and Kyle.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Pitts and it's too much shit, so absolutely well Srilana
for this for this week, we'll see our goals. Good
luck to your bad and your cowboys and your Jets,
look to my Steelers. We'll see how it plays out
(52:09):
before we roll, I think, uh, we'll we'll what person.
We're gonna bring on another round of trivia next week
so I can defend my title against apt Now I
got the trivia, but uh, but until then, man, see
y'all next week. Anything before we leave, anything to get
off your chest.
Speaker 4 (52:31):
Hey, if you're playing Daily Fantasy, go out get Jordan's.
Play Jordan's with the kids.
Speaker 1 (52:38):
Last name for the Niners, Jordan Mason.
Speaker 2 (52:42):
Jordan Mason.
Speaker 4 (52:43):
Go ahead and get him before McCaffrey gets ruled out
and his dollar amount go up. But he's definitely the
pick of the day.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Man. He's gonna run, he's gonna run.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
He's gonna run nice early and often against the Vikings,
and he's gonna have a really really good day. So
go out and get him before Christians ruled out and
the dollar amount shoots up.
Speaker 1 (53:06):
Yeah, and he's gonna run hard.
Speaker 3 (53:08):
Yeah yeah, ran very hard against the Jets, like people
were bouncing off of him. Like that's the part that
had me like dang, like I mean Mosley DJ reed
like they come and trying to deliver the wood and
walking back to the huddle like help out right. Yeah yeah, yeah,
(53:30):
I agree with you. He's he's somebody to look out
for now nothing. You know, football is back, man. Enjoy
your weekend, whether it's a Friday game, Saturday game, or
Sunday game, and enjoy the football.
Speaker 5 (53:43):
Be safe out.
Speaker 1 (53:43):
There, no doubt. And uh, I think I got man.
If you got dogs and cats, lock him up for
somebody to eat them.
Speaker 5 (53:53):
Don't do that.
Speaker 2 (53:56):
Don't do that.
Speaker 5 (53:57):
Don't do that. So ambitious rumor was like we got
family in Ohio.
Speaker 1 (54:01):
Man, y'all be good man. We'll talk to y'all next week.
Until then.
Speaker 4 (54:08):
The fire life my life, My life is
