How do we find the balance between making choices for our children and allowing them to make their own decisions, even if it means they may fail?

Join me as we dive into the different parenting styles and discuss the kind of parent we aspire to be when faced with our children's choices. Are we the rescuer, always stepping in to protect and make decisions for them? Or are we the prosecutor, criticizing and punishing their choices? Perhaps we find ourselves feeling like the victim, overwhelmed and unsure of the best approach.

We'll also explore the kind of child we want to raise when it comes to decision making. Do we want them to blindly follow others, or do we want to instill values such as critical thinking, independence, and resilience? And how do we strike a balance between guiding them and allowing them to fail and learn from their mistakes?

In this podcast, I'll provide practical tools and strategies to help navigate these challenges. We'll discuss the importance of spending one-on-one time with our children, using a calm voice, and offering encouragement. We'll also explore the concept of internal motivation and the power it has in shaping their decision-making skills.

Ultimately, it's crucial to consider on our role as parents and acknowledge that we can't control or force our children's choices. Instead, we can focus on controlling ourselves and creating an environment that empowers them to make their own decisions.

Tune in as we explore the power dynamics within the family and ask ourselves when it's time to walk away and let our children face the consequences of their choices. Are we stepping in to assert power, or are we genuinely looking out for their safety?

Finding the balance and teaching our children to make wise choices is an ongoing journey, but one that is vital for their growth and development in the real world.
