Have you ever wished you had more downtime or time just to think and reflect? Or does the thought of spending time alone feel indulgent or implausible? Maybe the thought of spending time alone seems like a scary concept.

Today in The Good Girl Confessional we welcome back Sydney-based Author and Columnist Kerri Sackville who has explored the concept of spending time alone and the huge benefits it can bring to your life. In her powerful new book The Secret Life of You: How a bit of alone time can change your life, your relationships and maybe the world, Kerri unpacks the concept of alone time and we chat about society's attitude towards solitude.

Kerri's new book is life changing! When Kerri decided to stop filling every idle moment with distractions and learn to be comfortable with her own thoughts, her quality of life began to soar. She started to see that her productivity and creativity increased and she realised her connection with others became deeper. In a world of smart phones, social media, and endless streaming options, along with the demands of work, family and friends, spending time on your own can feel impossible. Kerri explores the roadblocks to unplugging and contemplates aloneness versus loneliness.

She also provides practical advice on how to become comfortable in your own company and learn to enjoy time on your own.

The Secret Life of You is now available in all good bookstores.
