Speaker 1 (00:00):
Book three, page three hundred and thirty four.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
May I have your attention?
Speaker 3 (00:05):
Please?
Speaker 2 (00:08):
May I have your attention?
Speaker 3 (00:10):
Please?
Speaker 4 (00:14):
Well, the real Weird Sisters please stand up. We're gonna
have a problem.
Speaker 2 (00:18):
Here were the Weird Sisters. Were the real Weird Sisters?
Speaker 4 (00:21):
All you are the Weird Sisters are fine and not
the Vikers.
Speaker 2 (00:23):
Well, the real Weird Sisters, please stand up, Please stand up,
Please stand up.
Speaker 3 (00:29):
Hi, and welcome to the Real Weird Sisters. I'm Alice
and I'm Martha, and today we're here to talk about
the three hundred and thirty fourth page of Harry Potter
and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Martha, this might be our
most interesting page yet.
Speaker 4 (00:43):
And what a page it is. This is a page
that is from the chapter chapter seventeen, Cat, Rat and Dog.
So my prediction was wrong. I had predicted it would
be from Hermione's Secret, which is chapter twenty I believe.
So I was a little twenty one, so I was
a bit I was a bit off as far as
where this is. I kind of forgot that this book
(01:04):
is actually like over four hundred pages. I thought it
was like around three hundred something, so I thought it
was gonna be closer to the end. But yeah, this
is an animal heavy page. First time we've had so
many animals on a page. I guess we could say that.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
Yeah, that's true. And the chapter title is cat, rat,
and dog, and we do see all three on this page.
Speaker 4 (01:24):
Well we sort of seek Yeah, I guess we sort
of seek Crookshanks. We mostly just hear about Crookshanks, but
we do see rat and dog.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
All three animals are present on the page.
Speaker 4 (01:34):
So yeah, so out of the four chapters we are
four pages we've done. This might actually be other than
in the Hogshead. This might be the best fit to
the chapter title that we've had.
Speaker 3 (01:44):
That's true, I think it is. I I yeah, in
the Hogshead, we were very solidly in the Hogshead and
there we remain.
Speaker 4 (01:51):
We did not leave.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
Yeah, but uh yeah, so this one and that one,
we're both you know, tied to the chapter title last week,
not at all.
Speaker 4 (02:00):
But yeah, the first one I just double checked that
was Talents and tea Leaves, So I guess sort of
connected to the talents but.
Speaker 1 (02:07):
With Bucky's talent, Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (02:11):
All right, Well, before we get into this week's page,
I did want to give an update, we have started
doing a best band named poll on Instagram. So, Martha,
do you want to take us through the results of
last week's poll for those who are waiting with baited breath.
Speaker 4 (02:28):
I wanted to first shout out slash shame Sally for
messaging us for the message justice for one Gnarled Finger
that was not received well by me.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
So that was a great heavy metal band.
Speaker 4 (02:44):
Okay, So we had about fifty people vote, which was awesome.
I don't know how many of those fifty people listened
or just voted. I never know on Instagram, but.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
These were bots, probably forty nine.
Speaker 4 (02:58):
We had a pretty runaway vote, runaway champion here of
Untraceable Happiness, which I believe is your suggestion, Alice. So
well done, I.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
Was gonna say, I don't remember if that was my
suggestion or yours.
Speaker 4 (03:10):
But the bottom three candidates all kind of didn't get
money votes. Empty Brain was second place with only twenty
one percent of the vote, and then Most Extraordinary Things
fourteen percent and five percent for quite Astonishing Gymnastics, which fair.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Which I think that was also my suggestion. So I
sort of both won and lost there. Well, I don't remember.
I think I might have done that one.
Speaker 4 (03:33):
I think you had empty brain, so honestly, you're kind
of out of role.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
I don't know. I honestly have no memory of who
said any of those three.
Speaker 4 (03:42):
So yeah, well, we also have to clarify something that
many listeners reached out about. We talked about the British
versions and wondering what the British version said about Dean
Thomas singing the national anthem, and it did have the
words national anthem in the British version, thanks to many
listeners who reached out with that information, I think it was.
Meredith had a good point that it kind of would
(04:04):
date the page as well, or date the chat the
book if it said God save the Queen versus King,
whichever one, because it depends on who's in power at
the time. And that's a good point, except for that
we are supposed to believe that this is taking place
in like nineteen ninety four, so I mean, it wouldn't
be It would actually maybe be good world building to
(04:24):
say that. Also, Dave reached out our Da've reminded us,
of course, it's kind of weird that we have muggles
singing the national or sorry, wizards singing the Muggle national
anthem Dean Thomas Born.
Speaker 3 (04:36):
Then that might have been before we like had really
fleshed out the idea that well, I guess we know
that there's the Ministry of Magic.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, but you know, I.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Guess the head of state versus the head of whatever.
The queen serves a different purpose than the prime minister.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
We don't really have that's true.
Speaker 3 (04:57):
We don't have a wizard like a witch or queen
or king, so.
Speaker 4 (05:01):
There's no equivalent in the wizarding world. And I mean,
I think it was also a good point. I think
was bec Rebecca said, uh that Barti Crouch Junior. It
kind of fits that Barti Crouch Senior would have because
he's the one like instructing queen to sing the nationally
ad them And it does kind of seem like something
Barti Crouch Senior would have ensured his child knew like
he was. I don't know, I just feel like that
(05:23):
does kind of fit with the way he was probably raised.
Speaker 3 (05:27):
Yeah, that's not that's not a bad point either, And
interesting though, thank you for everybody who reached out to
let us know that that is the.
Speaker 1 (05:35):
Same will be.
Speaker 3 (05:36):
That's not gonna be like a segment every week, but
I'm sure that the British version, watch will be something
that we have to set out send out the bat
signal on occasionally.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Yeah, maybe we'll think of a different uh word than watch.
Since we're saying watch for everything.
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Well, I'm just saying like, uh, we'll be we'll be
looking for that.
Speaker 3 (05:56):
I don't think it's a segment every week, but it's
something that will come up occasionally.
Speaker 4 (06:01):
Exactly.
Speaker 3 (06:03):
Okay, So this week's page, like you already said in
chapter seventeen, in the chapter Cat Ratt and Dog, should
we go ahead and read the page?
Speaker 4 (06:14):
Yeah? I think we should. Just worth noting too, this
is another page that starts mid sentence. Did you look
back at the page three hundred and thirty three?
Speaker 1 (06:25):
I did?
Speaker 3 (06:26):
I did you?
Speaker 4 (06:27):
Yeah, I had to just because we have a non
specific pronoun used here, so I didn't know what it
was at the beginning, so I had to right that
it is referring to the invisibility cloak.
Speaker 3 (06:40):
Right, So the invisibility cloak is the subject of this
first sentence that we'll read out. And I want to
say this is another non dialogue heavy page, so so
take it away, Jim Dale, Well, are we sure we
want to go with my the same format of I
read all of the narrator. I don't know why not, Okay, Well,
I just don't want you to feel left out when
(07:01):
you don't get to do a ton of impressions. And
I don't know that the listeners are benefiting from this.
Speaker 4 (07:08):
I think it is helpful though, because a couple of
people have reached out to say that, like, if they
don't have the American version, they don't know what page
we're talking about, right, It does help us too, just
to hear it out loud, to go through all our
different segments too.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
So no, I didn't.
Speaker 3 (07:24):
Mean that they weren't benefiting from us reading it aloud,
but that they weren't benefiting from me being the main
your reader.
Speaker 4 (07:30):
You're doing amazing, sweetie.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
Don't worry.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
Oh you're doing amazing, sweetie. Well, I will say otherwise,
if I wasn't doing this, I would probably hardly ever
get to read, except for when we got to the
cool female voice actually and flur flur, and then occasionally
if I ever happen to be sick and we're reading
out something with moody.
Speaker 4 (07:50):
Yeah exactly. I think you should just take it away
all right.
Speaker 3 (07:55):
So, like you mentioned, we're talking about the invisibility cloak
here in this first sentence, and it streamed behind them
like a banner. As they hurtled after Ron, they could
hear his feet thundering along a head and his shouts
at crookshanks.
Speaker 5 (08:10):
Get away from him, Get away, scabbers, come here. There
was a loud thud, gotcha, get off you stinking cat.
Harry and Hermione almost fell over Ron. They skidded to
a stop right in front of him. He was sprawled
on the ground, but Scammers was back in his pocket.
He had both hands held tightly over the quivering lump rod.
Speaker 4 (08:33):
Come back under the closer, Ron, Come on back under
the cloak, Hermione panted, dumple door, the minister. They'll be
coming back out in a minute.
Speaker 1 (08:45):
But before they could cover themselves again, before is how
he says that?
Speaker 4 (08:56):
Or no, I don't remember, let's keep going.
Speaker 1 (09:02):
Sorry. Before they could even catch their breath, they heard
the soft pounding of gigantic paws. Something was bounding toward
them out of the dark, an enormous, pale eyed, jet
black dog. Harry reached for his wand but too late,
the dog had made an enormous leap, and the front
paws hit him on the chest.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
Sorry, I was doing some sound effects and thank you.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
That's appreciate it. He keeled over backward in a whirl
of hair. He felt its hot breath, saw inch long tear,
but the force of its leap had carried it too far.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
It rolled off.
Speaker 3 (09:41):
Him, dazed dog to be clear.
Speaker 1 (09:47):
Dazed, feeling as though his ribs were broken, Harry tried
to stand up. He could hear it growling as.
Speaker 3 (09:54):
It skidded around for a new attack.
Speaker 1 (09:58):
Ron was on his feet. As the do dog sprang
back toward them. He pushed Harry aside. The dog's jaws
fastened instead around Ron's outstretched arm. Harry lunged forward. He
seized a handful of the brute's hair, but it was
dragging Ron away as easily as though it were a
rag doll.
Speaker 4 (10:16):
Did you like the sound effects? I was dragging that. Yeah. Again,
Let's do it again.
Speaker 1 (10:26):
They could cover themselves again.
Speaker 4 (10:29):
I have to say, I mean, right out of the
right off the bad serious is the real weirdo on
this page? Right?
Speaker 3 (10:37):
He wasn't acting normal. Let's put at that one.
Speaker 4 (10:39):
That's for sure. What a weirdo?
Speaker 3 (10:43):
Was it necessary to be quite so bruteful, right the brute.
Speaker 6 (10:49):
The brute was carrying ron as easily as though it
were he were a rag doll.
Speaker 4 (10:54):
But Harry seized a handful of the brute's hair.
Speaker 3 (10:57):
I did think that was a weird description. I don't
know if we want to get straight into the ojo.
She didn't, But I do feel like that one was
one of the weird ones, like, yeah, well, I feel
like call it hair when it's a dog.
Speaker 4 (11:09):
Also, the number of times we have to see the
dog being referred to as it, I know it's a
little bit tricky, like when you don't like Harry doesn't
know the dog, and Harry doesn't know the gender of
the dog.
Speaker 3 (11:19):
Maybe we could take a quick look an unnutered male.
Speaker 4 (11:27):
Yeah, our animegu is dogs neutered. I guess not.
Speaker 3 (11:30):
I wouldn't think so like that would that would kind
of would kind of assume that the human would be too.
Speaker 4 (11:36):
Which right right, which I don't think serious was yeah,
but so like, let's just do a little There's there's
a lot of ojo she didn't on this page as
far as the writing goes. Honestly, first of all, just
I have to also, we would be remiss to not
mention the fact that there are fourteen M dashes on
this page like it is. I did a quick count.
(11:58):
I'm trying to see how many words on a page,
and it's over two hundred and fifty words, but like
just it's between two fifty and three hundred. I kind
of lost count. But for that few of words with
fourteen M dashes.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
It was a lot, especially and I don't mind it necessarily,
like in the dialogue parts, but there's several like paragraphs
that end in an M dash too, and I feel
like that I would say that would be an an ojo.
She didn't.
Speaker 4 (12:26):
Yeah. But then if we go back to this conversation
about the it pronouns for serious. If we go start
like the dog and made enormously uh front pods. He
felt its hot breath, that's the first it Then the
force of the force of its leap had carried it
too far. It rolled off him. Harry could hear it
(12:47):
it growling as it skitted around for a new attack.
And then we have it was dragging ron away easily.
So that's seven. It's I feel like we could have
gotten like I get that it is probably the pronoun
to use but feels excessive. The number of times we
have to see it. Yeah, that was a.
Speaker 3 (13:07):
Lot, and I that didn't necessarily totally stand out to
me when I was reading it the first time, But
now that you're pointing that out, I would agree that
that was excessive.
Speaker 4 (13:17):
But I mean the alternative would be using words like
the brute, which I didn't like, eat.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
The oh Josh.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
Didn't that stood out to me was when this this
was just one of those things where where the author
just really isn't very good at math, because I was
confused about the inch long teeth, Like I started to think,
that's totally that long.
Speaker 4 (13:40):
Yeah, but I mean I think that is about how
long dog's teeth are. Is It's not like I don't
think you're like.
Speaker 3 (13:45):
Oh my gosh, inch long teeth and it's like, okay,
well that's like about how long. Honestly, my teeth are
about an inch long. No they're not, Yes they are,
well I.
Speaker 4 (13:54):
Guess they are.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
But that's what I'm saying, Like, once you start to
really think about how long really is an inch, I
think think three inch long teeth would be scary.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
Yeah, but I don't think serious is supposed to like
or not serious Snuffles. I don't think brute the brute.
I don't think the brute is supposed to have unrealistic
looking teeth.
Speaker 3 (14:15):
You know, well, but it's an enormous dog, and so
to have inch long teeth that's pretty small. So he
actually has really little, like.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
Rat looking teeth.
Speaker 4 (14:25):
Yeah, no, not rat looking teeth.
Speaker 1 (14:28):
I'm just saying that's not accurate.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
If you were gonna have large, scary looking teeth, which
is what is implied here, an inch long, is not
it Like, yes, it's not unscary, but it's not I
think they need to be at least three inches long.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
Three inches would be kind of a lot.
Speaker 3 (14:47):
It's really not on a big dog.
Speaker 4 (14:50):
I guess that's true. I don't I could see maybe
that being the ojo she didn't. But I actually this
when you said the author's math skills, I kind of
thought you were gonna to talk about the physics of
the force of Serious's leap or snuffles leap, like I
have trouble really picturing this scene. The force of its
(15:10):
the force of its leap had carried it too far,
it rolled off him. I guess maybe Harry's misinterpreting the
fact that Harry's not his target.
Speaker 1 (15:19):
Yeah, yeah, I think that.
Speaker 4 (15:22):
Might be part of serious is actually going for Ron,
right kind of?
Speaker 3 (15:26):
I pushed Harry out of the way.
Speaker 4 (15:28):
Well, yeah, I didn't say, as the dogs sprang back
toward them, he pushed Harry aside, I will say.
Speaker 3 (15:37):
Like this, I don't want to Anna, I don't want
to like blame the author too much for this confusing
action scene because I just I know that you and
I and especially me do have issue and following action
in a in a book. So yeah, it's not really
all on the author for that.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
But I yes, it was confusing and I didn't always
quite know what was happening.
Speaker 4 (16:00):
Yeah, there's also this moment of Ron. I guess maybe
if I'd seen the other page, this might have been
more helpful. But is Ron on his back or on
his uh stomach? Because it says that he was sprawled
on the ground, but Scabbers was back in his pocket.
He had both hands held tight over the quivering lump,
(16:20):
so that means that we can see his pocket and
has like I think that he has to be on
his back, but that's I don't know. It feels kind
of weird, like when somebody's sprawled on the ground, I
feel like, yeah, like you don't fall on your back
usually you fall on your stomach.
Speaker 3 (16:37):
Well, and especially when you're like lunging for something, because
that's what I mean, that's back when he's just he's
going for scabbers. The dog hasn't come for him yet.
Speaker 4 (16:45):
I mean the other contender for Ojo, she didn't. This
is probably I'm surprised we didn't bring it up yet.
Is simply just the descriptor of you stinking cat.
Speaker 3 (16:56):
Well, I know I thought about that too, and I
was was, well, it's really coming from Ron.
Speaker 4 (17:03):
But it was cruel, was cruel.
Speaker 3 (17:05):
It was kind of I don't want to skip ahead
too much, but do you think that was the burn
of the week. I don't want to honor that.
Speaker 4 (17:12):
I don't want to honor that either. I mean, I
think there's got to be another burner of the week
within this pros here. I mean, that's there's nothing else
under the dialogue that's true, but like something about the
brute honestly, or it was dragging run away as easily
as though he were a rag doll. Like that's that
was kind of the humble brag of the week. Yeah,
(17:32):
but it's also a bit of a burn on rod,
like no, you're you're that week that you're getting pulled
away by the great brute as though you're a rag doll.
Speaker 3 (17:42):
Yeah okay, but anyway, uh so, I feel like for
the Ojo, she.
Speaker 1 (17:46):
Didn't, I think we should do the M dashes personally.
Speaker 4 (17:49):
Yeah, I mean that's also the lesson of the week.
I do have to say that if we're gonna use
this in a eighth grade English classroom teaching what an
M dash is? This is it. It's used in a
lot of well, the main purpose of it is like
to I guess like sort of in the pros it's
sort of like a semicolon or a I don't really
(18:10):
know why these paragraphs end with them dashes. I guess
it's to like kind of show the action.
Speaker 3 (18:15):
Yeah, that's the thing. It's used in several different ways,
Like it's used as like sort of how people use
in ellipses for in texting, which isn't really the original
intention of that.
Speaker 4 (18:26):
But I feel like, yeah, it's used for.
Speaker 3 (18:30):
That sort of like it's showing like we're cutting off
because I think it's like supposed to show like this
action scene of like oh my gosh. But then it's
also in there, like you said, kind of as a
semicolon or yeah, well, or like for the case of
the dialogue, it's there as like they're getting there, they're panting.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Or yeah, that's hermione panting ron come back, come on
back onto the cloak.
Speaker 4 (18:52):
Yeah, and get away from get away skepus come here.
And then yeah, we also have it. We do have
an ellipses kind of weird, kind of weird that they
used an ellipses there instead of a M dash compared
to the way that them dash is being used. Like
they heard the soft pounding of gigantic palls something and
(19:16):
then there was a gigantic pause. Yeah, yeah, I see
what you did there.
Speaker 3 (19:22):
I also do want to call out just a little
bit of bad writing here. We had the word enormous
twice within two sentences.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
Basically, something was.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Bounding toward them out of the dark and enormous, pale
eyed jet black dog. Harry reached for his wand but
too late, the dog had made an enormous leap.
Speaker 4 (19:41):
It's like, yeah, okay, he's enormous.
Speaker 1 (19:45):
Yeah, there's a lot of enormous happening here.
Speaker 4 (19:47):
Yeah, we do have gigantic as well, but yeah, that's
that is she didn't too. Let's do the M dashes here,
but that's also going to be the lesson of the
week because you don't see this many M dashes. I
wanted to have you seen this conversation online about how
M dashes are an indicator of chat GPT being used. No,
I haven't, but I tell you that I don't totally.
(20:10):
I don't totally buy it because I know there are
people who do just really like using M dashes kind
of I might be one of them. I don't think
I use it that often, but I do like them,
So I don't.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Think it's like I think, giveaway, right, I agree. I
don't think it's like always like a dead giveaway. But
now that I like, I can when I'm picturing stuff
that's written by chat GPT a lot of the time,
it does have that in there.
Speaker 4 (20:33):
Yes, exactly. Yeah, So I don't think that the author
was using chat GPT for this, Do you.
Speaker 3 (20:42):
Just based on when it was written?
Speaker 1 (20:43):
I'm gonna guess no, but probably not unless we can
also be on chat GPT.
Speaker 4 (20:49):
Wash. Yeah, that GPT would not use enormous twice in
two sentences.
Speaker 3 (20:56):
Probably not, I think that. I think, yeah, we this
could be something. I don't want to add it as
a full other segment. But again, we could say, does
this page seem like it could have been written by
chat GPT. I kind of feel like this page does
feel like that.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Yeah, but although I don't really know how you would
prompt chat gpt.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
To write this like, well, it would be partly like
write a page of Harry Potter action in the style
of the author.
Speaker 4 (21:22):
Yeah, yeah, it does feel like it, right, Yeah, Okay, Well,
I think we should talk about humble Bag of the
Week because we kind of started talking about it. I
do think that there's quite a few actually within the pros.
The gigantic pause, that's my first one.
Speaker 3 (21:39):
Okay, well you all know what a sign of a
gigantic pause is.
Speaker 4 (21:43):
Okay, that's not what I was.
Speaker 3 (21:45):
Well, I'm just saying that is a humble brag.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Well, I just was like, okay, an enormous, paleote jet
black dog. Also, I don't think serious is really supposed.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
To be that big, well as the dog he is,
because he's supposed to look like grim remember.
Speaker 4 (22:01):
Yeah, but I just feel like he's nothing.
Speaker 3 (22:02):
In the movie, he's small, but yeah, that's true.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Yeah, but conflating with the movie.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
But in the book he is typically described as huge.
But especially I think here because they're like scared as
he's like running towards them, attacking them. Right, But I
think like later they don't necessarily always, like you know,
pay as much attention to how big he is.
Speaker 4 (22:24):
Yeah. Another humble brag is dazed, feeling as though his
ribs were broken. Harry tried to stand up.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Harry pushed through the pain.
Speaker 3 (22:40):
Harry tried to stand up. Oh, he's a very strong,
brave young boy.
Speaker 4 (22:47):
Yeah, and I guess to see, like you said that,
it was dragging run away as easily as though he
were a rag doll.
Speaker 3 (22:52):
Yeah, congrats, serious, we get it.
Speaker 1 (22:54):
You're very strong as well.
Speaker 4 (22:56):
Right. Oh you know, I I know we're doing we're
doing Humble Braag of the Week, but we were sort
of doing burn of the Week too, because I do
think calling scabbers a quivering lump is kind of a burn.
Speaker 1 (23:07):
That is, Like I said, I don't want to honor that.
Get off, you stinking cat.
Speaker 4 (23:13):
No, I don't either. We also have for for a
burn of the Week contender we have. They could hear
his feet thundering along ahead.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
He does not.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
He does not tread lightly like serious serious has a
soft pounding of gigantic paws. That's kind of that's sort
of the humble brag with the soft pounding too. It's
like he may have big paws, but he can sure
tread lightly.
Speaker 3 (23:39):
Yeah, for sure. Okay, I think for humble Brag of
the week, I like the feeling as though his ribs
were broken.
Speaker 4 (23:48):
Harry tried to stand Oh, yeah, that was very brave
of him. Yeah, I was almost as brave as when
Moody cleared the desks.
Speaker 3 (23:56):
Yeah, Harry probably would have been able to clear the
desks as well.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
He would have tried. That's all. That's all we can
ask of him.
Speaker 3 (24:02):
Exactly. Well done, Harry. This was one of the toughest
things he ever had to do, but yet he managed to.
Speaker 4 (24:09):
Harry tried to stand up. Wow, good job, Harry. Yeah,
Harry's lunging forwards, so we must not be that injured.
Speaker 3 (24:20):
Yeah. I feel like this is one of those moments
where it's like he had kind of like a little
bit of a man cold.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:27):
Well, he did pushed through the pain.
Speaker 4 (24:29):
He did have basically the wind knocked out of him.
I feel like that's kind of hot why he was
feeling that way. And then he kin to realize.
Speaker 3 (24:38):
Feeling as though his ribs were broken.
Speaker 4 (24:41):
Harry tried to stand up.
Speaker 3 (24:43):
Wow, good job, Harry.
Speaker 4 (24:46):
Then he gets pushed aside by the great Black Dog. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:52):
Okay, so that was our humble brag of the week.
So then Burne of the week. We kind of talked
about this a little bit.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
But yeah, I mean I think the contenders are Ron's
feet thundering along with the quivering, lump stinking cat. Honestly,
the calling the dog the brute, and then the dog
Ron as easily as if he were a rag doll.
Speaker 3 (25:18):
Yeah, maybe the rag doll one, because I feel like
that is kind of a burn on Ron, like Ron
was not putting up much of a successful fight there.
Speaker 4 (25:30):
Yeah, I like I like that one. But I also
do really like that they could hear his feet thundering
along ahead. That's such an extreme word it is, especially because.
Speaker 3 (25:41):
It's like it's Ron really that heavy footed, right, Yeah,
I mean I guess he was really running. He was
shouting at Crookshanks. I mean, I'd be good with him.
Getting the burn of the week considering how he talked
at Crookshanks.
Speaker 4 (25:56):
That was really Yeah, agreed, I think that that makes sense. Yeah,
adverb adverb of the week. We have one adverb on
this page. Unless I'm missing anything, I.
Speaker 3 (26:07):
Know not a very adverb heavy page. There's lots of adjectives.
Speaker 4 (26:12):
There are a lot of enormous.
Speaker 3 (26:16):
But uh yeah, adverbs. Where's the where even is the.
Speaker 4 (26:19):
Adverb dragging run away as easily as though he were
a rag doll as easily?
Speaker 3 (26:24):
Yeah, I will say, like, this isn't an adverb, but
it's kind of the same idea of what we were
talking about. But Hermione panting, Yeah, I do.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
Like that one too.
Speaker 3 (26:34):
That's so maybe we maybe it's not always adverb. Maybe
it's sometimes is talking about how people say things.
Speaker 4 (26:41):
Yeah, but I would be fine.
Speaker 3 (26:44):
Also, Yeah, it's also sort of a bird of the
week because it's like Hermione's again once again, out of breath,
clutching at.
Speaker 4 (26:51):
Her side exactly. Yeah, yeah, no, I like that too.
Maybe we we have to we have to honor easily
since it is the only l live adverb on the page,
but we do also The original adverb watch comes from
the author not wanting to use the word said all
the time. So I think pantit is the other one
that we need to mention. Like you said, yeah, missed
(27:14):
opportunity of the week, I mean partly the adverbs. There's
no food on this page either, unless you count Ron's arm.
Speaker 6 (27:23):
Ron's arm made a good meal for that enormous dog
the jaw the dog's jaws fastened around or fastened instead
around Ron's outstretched I think that's the.
Speaker 1 (27:33):
Food of the week.
Speaker 3 (27:36):
Scabbers was almost a meal for Crookshank, but right, Crookshanks
was never going to eat scavers. It's hilarious to picture
if that was how Peter Pettigrew died, as if Crookshanks
just ate him as a rat. I should have thought
about that before he turned into an animeagus.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
Right, he didn't know that's what he was going to
turn into.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Yeah, okay, so missed opportunity of the week. Did you
have anything else besides the fact that we're lacking adverbs?
Speaker 4 (28:11):
Yeah, I couldn't really think of much else. I did
feel like there could have been another, like the fact
that we don't actually really see Crookshanks. That's not exactly
what we do for a missed opportunity, I know, but yeah,
I well, it.
Speaker 3 (28:25):
Wasn't missed opportunity to have the cat, rat, and dog
really all featured on one.
Speaker 4 (28:29):
Pain Yeah exactly. But yeah, I mean I think this
is a it's kind of hard to really say what
was missing on an action heavy page like this. Yeah,
And I guess maybe it would have been a missed
opportunity to we didn't he felt its hot breath, but
didn't like we don't get a description of like his
hot stinking breath.
Speaker 1 (28:50):
Yeah exactly. I was just gonna say something very similar.
We didn't get to see his teeth being.
Speaker 3 (28:55):
Yellow yea, or drool hanging from his mouth like making
it a little grow sir. Yeah, I feel like that's
something that the author does.
Speaker 4 (29:03):
Enjoy, Yeah, or something like more more discrete, Like I know,
we have Harry feeling as though his ribs were broken,
but a little bit more extreme dramatics from Harry feeling injured.
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
Yeah, So those those would be sort of some miss opportunities.
But yeah, for I would say overall, this page was.
Speaker 1 (29:22):
Kind of it was what it was.
Speaker 4 (29:25):
Yeah, it was quite a page.
Speaker 3 (29:27):
So was this move?
Speaker 1 (29:29):
Was this in the movie?
Speaker 3 (29:30):
I feel like, yep, pretty close to this, was it.
Speaker 4 (29:33):
Yeah, I think honestly, this pretty much happens like it's
said here. I can definitely picture Ron catching scabbers, running
like away from Hagrid's hut and then yeah, the I mean,
it's not an enormous dog, that's for sure.
Speaker 3 (29:50):
Yeah, that's true. Not a very accurate portrayal of this,
thanks Alfonso. Right, but we did have Ron being attacked
and dragged into the dragged away right, Yeah, we're not
quite to the womping willow yet, but yeah.
Speaker 4 (30:06):
So.
Speaker 1 (30:09):
How about are we taking this with us?
Speaker 4 (30:12):
Mm hmm, it's fine. I mean I think that this
it's kind of hard to just to separate this page
by itself because it's like it's one part of this
whole sequence. I do feel like this cat Ratten dog
sequence probably goes on. If this is this is just
one page and nothing really happens in it, like other
than serious taking a bite out of Ron, It's like,
(30:35):
I don't know, this doesn't seem necessarily the most important
page of the action sequence of them getting to the
womping Willow.
Speaker 3 (30:41):
Right, this is kind of the setup of how we
first get over there. But I mean it would be
kind of it would be kind of a jarring time jump.
Speaker 4 (30:49):
If we didn't that would be kind of an Alfonso move,
if we didn't have this page exactly.
Speaker 3 (30:54):
Well, Alfonso has been known to have jarring time jumps
with the cat and the rat.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
That's true. He usually uses the cat, rat and dog
as signals for a time jump.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Yeah. So, okay, Well, we still have a few more
segments to get through here, but we will be back
in just a minute after we take a moment for
a word from one of our sponsors. Okay, so we've
got a few more segments here. Let's talk about grand Prey.
What did we decide on, first of all, for what
(31:25):
we're calling.
Speaker 4 (31:25):
This Grand Praying for You?
Speaker 3 (31:27):
I think I thought it was going to be WWGPD.
Speaker 4 (31:31):
Oh I guess then why did you ask me?
Speaker 3 (31:34):
Well, because I forgot and then I remembered once I
said that. Okay, So, well, either way, how do we
think Mary grand Prey would interpret this?
Speaker 4 (31:44):
Oh, she would love this page, Let's just put it
that way.
Speaker 3 (31:47):
I think she would really go to town on illustrating
the attack of the dog. Well, and honestly, our page,
our actual chapter art for this chapter is not too
far off from what happens on this page. This is
it's just a few moments later when we're gonna see
Ron being dragged into the womping willow.
Speaker 4 (32:08):
Right, And this chapter art, I do have to say,
is always a little disappointing. I feel like the the scale,
the way that they yeah, the.
Speaker 3 (32:18):
Chapter is a huge missed opportunity.
Speaker 4 (32:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:21):
Well, I mean the.
Speaker 4 (32:22):
Chapter art is on page three thirty two, so we
really shouldn't be talking about it much. But I just
it's one of those page one of those chapter arts
where I'm like, if they had just decreased the brightness
on it a little bit, I feel like we could
have seen more detail.
Speaker 3 (32:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (32:35):
And like you said, Ron looks way too big compared
to the size of the womping Willow.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Well, yeah, actually that's not what I meant when I
said scale, But you're right. I was talking about the scale,
like the gray scale. Oh but yeah, you're right, Ron
is like the size of one of the bronches. So yeah,
that's definitely not right.
Speaker 3 (32:52):
Like, it doesn't look very scary, very scary to be
when we when we get to page three thirty two,
will have a nice length discussion about it. We can't so,
but I just wanted to clarify, like, I think one
thing we should be when we're doing the WWGPD. I
think one of the things we.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
Should look at is she did she actually do.
Speaker 4 (33:10):
Something in this page? True, and she didn't quite do
something from this page, but.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
You're right, it is We're like almost there.
Speaker 4 (33:16):
Yeah, but I think that she does really like drawing
serious as the door or drawing snuffles, and I think
that it would be something along these lines of like
seeing Ron getting attacked by the dog.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
Yeah, Ron being pulled like a rag doll by Sirius.
Speaker 4 (33:34):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 3 (33:35):
Yeah. I think Ron would be kind of like sprawled
on the ground. Again, we're not quite sure if he's
on his stomach or on his back, but Sirious would
have his arm in his mouth and be pulling him easy.
Speaker 4 (33:48):
Yeah, and you have like a screaming look on his face.
Speaker 1 (33:51):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
Although it is tough for her to draw Ron or
to draw humans.
Speaker 4 (33:58):
In action, well so then maybe honestly, the picture would
just be of the dog jumping towards like kind of
like a Kujo like picture of like the dog jumping
towards the four grounds, you know what I mean?
Speaker 3 (34:11):
Yeah, that could be like from Harry's perspective exactly, Yeah,
where Ron's perspective either one.
Speaker 4 (34:19):
That would be a little bit scary, a bit very scary,
a bit scary exactly.
Speaker 3 (34:25):
Yeah. I mean, honestly, I feel like that would have
been a better, better chapter art than what we got.
Speaker 4 (34:30):
So well, I wish that the cat rat and dog
chapter art had a cat rat and a dog on
it like that.
Speaker 3 (34:35):
Yeah, that too, And but again, we're not talking about
page three thirty two today.
Speaker 4 (34:39):
We don't want to do that whole conversation before we
get to that page.
Speaker 3 (34:43):
What if we roll that for next week?
Speaker 4 (34:45):
Exactly? The aunts are just as likely as any other page.
Speaker 1 (34:49):
So okay, let's see, are we ready to do our
mv B.
Speaker 3 (34:55):
We've got a lot of contenders.
Speaker 4 (34:57):
I mean, it's probably got to be serious.
Speaker 1 (34:59):
Right, because he was flying through the air.
Speaker 4 (35:02):
Yeah, yeah, well.
Speaker 3 (35:04):
Sorry, he was bounding toward them.
Speaker 4 (35:06):
Yeah. Leap, he leaps, he bounds, he well, he leaps twice.
It's kind of like enormous twice.
Speaker 3 (35:14):
Yeah, I think so he seems the most bird like.
I don't think Scabbers was very bird like because he
was able to be caught by.
Speaker 4 (35:21):
Ron, right, Harry Harry lunged forward like a bird, and
Ron is a brag doll like a bird. I guess.
Speaker 1 (35:28):
Yeah, I think serious Ika snuffles.
Speaker 3 (35:33):
Has to or the brute has to be.
Speaker 4 (35:35):
So the brute. This is a rare double MVB and.
Speaker 1 (35:39):
Real weird most valuable brute.
Speaker 4 (35:41):
Yeah exactly, But he's also the real weirdo on this page, right, Yeah,
that that does.
Speaker 3 (35:47):
Happen occasionally where you get the MVB is the real weirdo.
Speaker 4 (35:50):
Yeah, that does happen occasionally, especially when we don't have
a real bird on the page. Yeah. Oh you know what,
we could also get to the invisibility cloak for the
for streaming behind them like a banner.
Speaker 3 (36:04):
Yeah, that was very bird like.
Speaker 4 (36:06):
Yeah, I did have I mean, what what have you?
What was your guess of what the it was?
Speaker 3 (36:14):
I don't.
Speaker 1 (36:14):
I was really I was like, I don't know what
this is talking.
Speaker 3 (36:17):
Yeah, That's why I had to check because I was like,
what is it streaming behind them like a banner? Yeah?
And also it's hard to picture because I'm still confused
as to what the cloak actually looks like.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
I think they did a pretty good like. I feel
like I picture the cloak in the movie.
Speaker 3 (36:36):
But is it just like a blanket or is it
or is it actually have like more of a clothing
element to it?
Speaker 4 (36:49):
Yeah? That I feel like it's like a snuggie, So
it has like arms and stuff.
Speaker 1 (36:55):
I think so, But then they all three get under it.
Speaker 4 (36:59):
That's why I'm always a little Yeah, it's a little weird.
Speaker 3 (37:01):
I always am just like, what is the shape of
this thing?
Speaker 4 (37:04):
Yeah, well it's like a banner.
Speaker 3 (37:06):
Yeah, so if that we take a look at banner, Michael,
it's more like a rectangle in my mind then, and
instead of just having any kind of stitching to make
it into sleeves or you know, what.
Speaker 4 (37:25):
Does that have to do with it streaming behind them?
Speaker 3 (37:27):
Well, because it looks like a banner, like a you know, right,
but how did we get to this what.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
I'm just saying.
Speaker 1 (37:36):
We were talking about the MVB, Right, So.
Speaker 4 (37:39):
You don't think it could be an MVB because it
doesn't it's shaped like a rectangle.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
Well no, I I just am having trouble picturing it.
I would rather give the Envy beat a serious let's put.
Speaker 4 (37:51):
It that way. I think that that fits just fine.
That it's funny.
Speaker 3 (37:57):
Yeah, Okay, so let's talk about sass of the week.
Did we get some sass on this page, Martha?
Speaker 4 (38:07):
I mean, get off your stinking cat. That's about it.
Speaker 3 (38:10):
That was sassy, not in a good way. No, Harry
was a little sassy when he seized a handful of
the brute's hair.
Speaker 4 (38:18):
Yeah, that's true. Yeah, I think that might be the
sass of the week.
Speaker 3 (38:24):
Yeah, he's like not having it from the brute.
Speaker 1 (38:29):
Can we talk about the fact that he called it
hair though?
Speaker 3 (38:31):
Too?
Speaker 4 (38:32):
And yeah, I know you wanted to talk about.
Speaker 3 (38:35):
No, but also.
Speaker 1 (38:36):
Earlier when Harry keeled over backward in a whirl of hair?
Speaker 3 (38:40):
Is that the dog's hair?
Speaker 4 (38:42):
I don't think it's Harry's hair, so yeah, you're probably right.
Speaker 1 (38:45):
So I just think it's odd that we aren't calling
it fur.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
Yeah, I mean some dogs do have more like hair
than fur.
Speaker 1 (38:53):
Yeah, but I don't know that just it weirds me out.
Speaker 3 (38:57):
And it would if we said in a whirl of fur,
we would be clear on whose hair we're talking about.
Speaker 4 (39:02):
Yeah, but I was just gonna say it would sound
really weird to say a whirl of fur.
Speaker 1 (39:07):
Well, it sounds weird to say in a whirl of hair.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
Yeah, it does. Seized a handful of the brute's fur
that would fit. But I do think the whirl of
fur would be weird.
Speaker 3 (39:18):
Well, it's kind of weird how he's in a whirl
of anything with hair or fur. Yeah, he felt its
hot breath in its long teeth.
Speaker 4 (39:29):
Oh, how scary. Yeah that's a bit scary. Well, Harry's
not scared. He tried to stand up.
Speaker 3 (39:35):
Yeah, Harry tried to stand up. Oh, you're such a
brave boy.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I don't know.
Speaker 4 (39:44):
There's not too much sass on this page. This is
a I gotta say when we haven't gotten to the
page ranking yet, but not my favorite page we've read.
Speaker 3 (39:53):
No, it was well, you know how we feel about
action page action sequence. Yeah, yeah, it's not gonna be
ranking high when we have to be deciphering what all
the action is on the page.
Speaker 1 (40:04):
That's always going to be a challenge for us, right, Yeah.
Was there a meme of the week.
Speaker 3 (40:10):
I didn't really come up with one.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
I don't think there's a meme of the week. I
think that we don't have to hit every segment every time,
So I think.
Speaker 3 (40:20):
The only meme of the week I kind of was
thinking of is that one with the dog that's kind
of like, you know what I'm talking about when that
dog has like its teeth kind of weird and it's
like smiling.
Speaker 4 (40:31):
Yeah, that's kind of how I picture serious here, like
like he's that dog does kind of have inchlugged teeth.
Speaker 3 (40:40):
So exactly, well, you know what, you know what I'm
talking about with that dog?
Speaker 4 (40:45):
Yeah, yeah, it's like a weird is it like a
U or something? Oh, the doge one?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
I don't know. I think I'm mixing up a couple
different memes.
Speaker 4 (40:55):
I'm picturing the one that's like a pit bull, but hmmm,
no meme of dog smiling because one is the doge. Okay,
well at all.
Speaker 1 (41:12):
I don't really know either what I'm picturing.
Speaker 3 (41:15):
I'm just that's kind of what I picture is serious
like that. You could make a meme out of serious
kind of being a dork in this scene.
Speaker 7 (41:23):
I guess you could, Alice, you are the meme lord.
So the meme lord strikes again. No, I just wanted
to make sure I agree. I don't think there was
a natural meme that arose from this page, but I
just wanted to.
Speaker 3 (41:36):
Make sure you didn't have one as well.
Speaker 4 (41:38):
Yeah, I wish that memes were more searchable because I
know there it's tough, like I just search meme of
dog like it's so stupid, Like the ones that come
up are really stupid. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 3 (41:58):
I I struck with that too. Okay, well, I guess
there's no further ado. We'd better we'd better get into
band name of.
Speaker 1 (42:04):
The week one, two, three four exactly? Uh what band
names stood out to you, Martha?
Speaker 4 (42:13):
Okay, well, I feel like my tendency is always to
do the three words, and I need to move away
from that, clearly, because the three word ones were not
voted highly.
Speaker 3 (42:26):
Okay, well, I have one first of all, and it's
it is a three word page, but sorry, a three
word phrase, but kind of in a different way.
Speaker 1 (42:34):
I thought the dog's jaws would be a nice We are.
Speaker 4 (42:39):
The dog's jaws one two, three four. That's good, another
three word phrase. The first one, the one I was
going to say first, was whirl of hair. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (42:51):
Yeah, I feel like the dog's jaws kind of sounds
like the Black Keys or something.
Speaker 4 (42:56):
Yeah, it does.
Speaker 1 (42:58):
There's also the front pause, but I don't want to
do that.
Speaker 3 (43:00):
I'd rather do.
Speaker 4 (43:01):
The dog's jaws, right. We could do hot breath.
Speaker 3 (43:09):
We could?
Speaker 4 (43:11):
That would be gross.
Speaker 3 (43:13):
I think also every time we should say what kind
of music they would be. I think the dogs the
dog's jaws would be rock a rock. Yeah, hot hot
Sorry what was it? Hot breath?
Speaker 4 (43:27):
The first one is that hair?
Speaker 1 (43:29):
But yeah, hot breath would be metal.
Speaker 4 (43:31):
I think I think more like punk.
Speaker 3 (43:36):
Yeah, whirl of hair sounds like it would be hair metal.
Speaker 4 (43:41):
Okay, is that a genre? All right? Thank you be blored.
What about quivering lump? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (43:51):
I thought of that one too. It sounds kind of.
Speaker 4 (43:54):
Gross, yeah it does. What about banner.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
Boring? I could take a look at banner Michael, Oh,
have stinking cat?
Speaker 4 (44:09):
No, we're not doing that. I also like the word stinking.
I guess that's kind of a British way of saying
that instead of just saying stinky stinky.
Speaker 3 (44:19):
Yeah, well, I don't want to also get into just
doing two word phrases only, right, So I'm trying to
be cognizant of that too.
Speaker 4 (44:28):
Right. Yeah, we could have.
Speaker 1 (44:36):
Yeah, I don't know, well we could we could have uh.
Speaker 3 (44:41):
I mean, you already have whirl of hair, but you
also could have the brute's hair.
Speaker 4 (44:45):
No, I don't like that.
Speaker 3 (44:48):
Dragging Ron away No, oh yeah, loud thud. I guess
there's just not a lot of great ones on this page.
Let's do stinking Cat. I guess if people vote for that,
I'm gonna be very mad at you.
Speaker 4 (45:04):
Yeah. I think hot Breath is my favorite.
Speaker 3 (45:07):
Honestly, I don't really like that one personally, I don't
like any of them that much.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
But okay, so what do you like best? Well?
Speaker 3 (45:14):
Probably my my favorite was the one I said, the
dog's jaws.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
Yeah, well, it's probably gonna be everybody else's favorite too.
Speaker 3 (45:21):
We'll see, won't we. So check out our instagram. We'll
be posting that up there as a poll. Okay, and now, Martha,
it's time for everybody's favorite qq sorry wwt qqot w
b Yeah.
Speaker 4 (45:39):
Okay, So are we gonna do the hypothetical answer from
you again?
Speaker 3 (45:43):
Because well, let's let's I don't think it has to
be from me. I think it's kind of a workshop thing.
Speaker 4 (45:48):
Yeah, I think it's better for you that way.
Speaker 1 (45:50):
My improv skills are not tops.
Speaker 4 (45:53):
Okay, so my question kind of something we talked about already, uh,
would be something along the lines of in Harry Potter
and The Prisoner of Azkaban, did Crookshanks? What did Crookshanks
want with Scabbers? And I think it's actually a good
(46:13):
question because we know that he's been talking to Sirius
Uh or communicating with serious but like he wanted to
catch Scabbor, Like, it doesn't really add. I don't really
know how Crookshanks could have gotten Scabbers other than eating him, right.
Speaker 3 (46:30):
And I think probably the answer would be something along
the lines of, like, well, Crookshanks being a part measle, Yeah, exactly,
he was very suspicious and he just simply wanted to
get Scabbers away from the trio, yeah, or like and
he just simply wanted to draw attention to his suspicions
(46:51):
or like I wanted he wanted.
Speaker 4 (46:52):
There to be more validation to his suspicions or something
like that.
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Yeah, he was suspicious. But do we do we think
Scabbers or sorry, do we think Crookshanks? Like how much
do we think Crookshanks knew about Scabbers just that it
was a human in disguise or that he was evil
or That's what's weird is that like, okay, he was
suspicious of Scabbers before he even met sirious.
Speaker 4 (47:17):
So I think it was originally just that he knew
that it was a human in disguise. I think that
once he met sirious serious probably communicated like that. Not
I don't. I don't think he did the whole story,
but he probably said like he was a threat, that
he was not a you know, innocuous human in disguise,
(47:39):
because that would that would exist. There's definitely people out
there who are just pretending to be rats for no
bad reason, no ulterior motive.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
Really fun to be a rat.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
Yeah, a pet rat live as a rat, living amongst
my equals. But yeah, I think that uh, Snuffles kind
of clue scabbers in enough to not include Crookshanks in
dog clued cat in enough to know that not only
(48:13):
was this not what it seemed to the humans, but
also that was not rat. It was not rat, but
also it was not good. So but yeah, like Crookshanks,
could Crookshanks have caught scabbers in his mouth and brought
scabbers to Snuffles. I don't think so that quivering lump
(48:34):
sure knows how to get out of a sticky situation.
Speaker 3 (48:37):
Yeah, that's true. I mean it's like he's really fast.
Speaker 4 (48:41):
And also Sirious didn't really want like I guess, actually,
I'm probably wrong, Sirius did want to just kill Pedigrew.
He didn't want, which.
Speaker 3 (48:49):
Makes no sense like trying to talk to him or anything.
Speaker 4 (48:52):
Well, yeah, but he what he should have wanted was
for Dumbledore to find out about Pedigrew or he could be. Yeah,
and so that like more of the story could have
been illuminated, you know, because yeah, so I think that
what Sirius should have wanted was for Crookshanks to bring
Scabbers to Dumbledore or something.
Speaker 3 (49:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (49:13):
Yeah, as Serious was not thinking straight, let's put it
that way. No, he was, as evidence as evidenced by
him running at the trio or sorry, fastening his jaws
around Ron's outstretched off.
Speaker 3 (49:28):
And having his whirl of hair all around the place.
Speaker 4 (49:32):
I guess. I mean, you do shed your hair more
when you're stressed. So he's clearly a very stressed out
state of mind.
Speaker 3 (49:40):
Yeah, I don't know what was happening. Also, I just
feel like, was there a need to like attack them?
Speaker 4 (49:50):
No, That's why Serious is so weird on this spage.
There was no need to attack them.
Speaker 3 (49:55):
The other thing I want to point out is that
he's kind of weirds me out how he's pale eyed, Like,
what color eyes are you picturing?
Speaker 4 (50:04):
I guess kind of like light gray, I or like,
I don't think it's like an Australian shepherd vivid blue, right, No.
Speaker 3 (50:11):
I don't think so either, But I'm like, I guess
it could be like light yellow.
Speaker 4 (50:16):
Yeah, but I'm like, pale eyed is a little bit weird.
Speaker 3 (50:19):
It kind of creeps me out, and I don't think
that that's how it's portrayed in the movie.
Speaker 4 (50:23):
Is No, Well, I don't think that we want to
use the portrayal.
Speaker 3 (50:28):
No, But I'm just saying, also, like, does Sirius have
really pale eyes?
Speaker 4 (50:34):
No? I mean I don't. I think he's supposed to
have maybe blue eyes.
Speaker 3 (50:37):
But yeah, I'm just that, like, focus on that description
is kind of weird, weird. I think the Grim is
supposed to have pale eyes, and that's probably I feel
like some of the descripture or descriptions of Snuffles in
this book are kind of hairy.
Speaker 4 (50:53):
Seeing what he wants to see, which is the Grim, Like,
once he's seen the Grim and the tea leaves, He's like,
I don't feel like he's creeping himself out. Yeah, but
I was gonna say.
Speaker 3 (51:02):
Long teeth really are inch long, and Harry's just like
like that, you know, to him. That seems scary in
the moment, but then it's like, if we stop to
think about it, Yeah, that's actually that.
Speaker 4 (51:12):
Long, That's what I was thinking. Yeah. So I was
also just when you mentioned the whorl of hair this time,
it actually made me think maybe there is actually a
implied MVB this week.
Speaker 3 (51:27):
The hair.
Speaker 4 (51:28):
No, the bird, the bird that will be using that
hair to build a nest.
Speaker 3 (51:34):
Oh true. Well, so you kind of alluded to this
earlier that this meant that he was shedding, and I
didn't necessarily think that. I thought it kind of just
meant like his hair was kind of like flying, Like.
Speaker 4 (51:46):
Yeah, I don't know, you're probably right, but yeah, you're right.
Speaker 3 (51:51):
There could be an implied future bird using that hair
to That's what I was a little nest for its family.
Speaker 4 (51:57):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 3 (51:58):
Yeah, No, I don't think we need to get too
deep with this, Okay, Okay, Well that pretty much brings
us to the end of this.
Speaker 1 (52:09):
The only thing we didn't cover is was there a
moral of this page?
Speaker 4 (52:14):
Oh yeah, we did. We forgot to cover that. I mean,
the moral of the pit moral could be don't call
cat stinking, otherwise you're going to get your arm chomped.
Speaker 3 (52:23):
Yeah. Maybe that's why Sirius came and got Ron.
Speaker 4 (52:26):
Yeah, he said, don't don't talk about my friend that way.
Speaker 3 (52:29):
Yeah, Crooks Shanks was his friend, and he's like, he
was my friend and you betrayed him.
Speaker 4 (52:35):
Exactly. That's my first thought for moral of the week.
I don't know is there anything else.
Speaker 1 (52:44):
I mean, when you get knocked down, try to stand up.
Speaker 4 (52:47):
Like Harry did exactly. Harry tried to stand up. Oh
carry Well, He's.
Speaker 1 (52:55):
Like, I get knocked down, but I get up again.
Speaker 3 (52:57):
Maybe that's the.
Speaker 4 (52:58):
Meme of the week. Yeah, good for Harry. I guess
I think the moral of the week is if you're
going to insert karma, Karma's a you know.
Speaker 3 (53:11):
What, Karma is a jet black dog, an enormous, pale
jet black dog.
Speaker 4 (53:16):
Exactly. Yeah, call a cat stinking. You're gonna get your
arm chomped. Yeah, be prepared.
Speaker 3 (53:22):
And I don't think that Ron ever really connected the
dots on that, but he should have.
Speaker 4 (53:27):
He really should have. Although he does sort of forgive
Crookshanks by the end of the book, so maybe he
does sort of deep down understand.
Speaker 3 (53:34):
Yeah, that's true. Sometimes you have to spell these things
out for him a little bit more true explicitly though, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (53:42):
What, No, don't say that.
Speaker 3 (53:46):
I also, this is not related to anything we were
just talking about, but I also like how Hermione calls
Fudge the Minister.
Speaker 4 (53:53):
Yeah, I know, I thought that was funny.
Speaker 3 (53:54):
Dumbledore the Minister. They'll be coming out in a minute.
It's like Dumbledore Fudge would have been that's kind of
another jo oh Joe. She didn't. It's like we wouldn't
know the Fudges.
Speaker 4 (54:05):
Although I mean, at this point, this is Fudge's first book,
and Hermion he's never really interacted with Fudge, So yeah,
that's true, a bit more understandable.
Speaker 3 (54:14):
Yeah, okay, Well that pretty much brings us to the
end of our conversation for this week's page. So that
means we are onto our well, we do have to
do the ranking and then we have to do our
dice roll.
Speaker 4 (54:29):
So will this bet the current rating champion? No, I
think that's that's decided.
Speaker 3 (54:35):
I would agree, So we're just gonna that's all. We're
deciding right if it knocks off last.
Speaker 4 (54:39):
Week, yep, and it doesn't.
Speaker 1 (54:42):
No, it certainly does not.
Speaker 4 (54:44):
Our rating champion is still book four, page two hundred
and thirty one.
Speaker 3 (54:50):
Yeah, let's just put it this way. Moody cleared those
desks and he's he's up at the top spot for
a while thanks to that.
Speaker 4 (54:57):
Exactly why though?
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Exactly okay?
Speaker 4 (55:02):
But I do think we did discover that there was,
in fact a meme of the week on this page,
which is the Harry. When Harry gets knocked down, he
gets up again.
Speaker 3 (55:10):
He's like, I get knocked down, but.
Speaker 1 (55:12):
I get up again. Exactly Okay, So time for our
dice roll.
Speaker 4 (55:22):
I just realized, though, Yeah, there might be a dark
horse contender for band name of the Week. Maybe I'm wrong,
but I'm kind of excited about this one. Hands held tight.
Speaker 1 (55:33):
Yeah that sounds good.
Speaker 3 (55:34):
Do you want to which one?
Speaker 1 (55:35):
Do you want to replace Stinking Cat?
Speaker 4 (55:36):
I think we should? Yeah, hands held Tight is actually
really good.
Speaker 1 (55:40):
I think it is pretty good.
Speaker 4 (55:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (55:43):
It is another three word phrase, but in a different way.
Speaker 4 (55:46):
Yeah. Exactly.
Speaker 3 (55:47):
Yeah. So okay, Well, we're gonna have those those band
names up on our Instagram, so stay tuned for that.
Speaker 1 (55:54):
And at real weird sister on Instagram. No real weird Sisters,
Real weird Sisters, pot, Real weird Sister's pot.
Speaker 3 (56:01):
Sorry, I had three options and I chose the wrong one.
Speaker 4 (56:05):
Three. It's like on Jeopardy when it's three multiple three
option multiple choice questions. The first person gets it wrong,
second person gets it wrong, and then the third person
gets to just get the one that's left exactly.
Speaker 3 (56:19):
Okay, so.
Speaker 1 (56:21):
Shall we do our dice roll?
Speaker 4 (56:22):
Martha? I think we shall. Are you ready? Please roll
it under dice, reminding myself to put in the sund effect,
and here we go. Okay, we have a new book
this week. Woo what is it? Book? Six page, two
hundred twenty two?
Speaker 3 (56:40):
All right, somehow we're not getting very many late page books,
or sorry, late pages in the series. We're just getting Yeah,
I don't know. I haven't gone above three hundred and
something yet.
Speaker 4 (56:52):
Didn't we have a four hundred one?
Speaker 1 (56:54):
No, we have only had three hundred's.
Speaker 3 (56:57):
Three hundred so far.
Speaker 4 (56:58):
Before anybody questions me, it's one D seven and three
D tens and if it's a ten, that counts as
a zero. Right, yeah, so sorry.
Speaker 3 (57:08):
Well, two hundred and twenty two. What are the chances
of that. That seems like a slim chances.
Speaker 4 (57:14):
It's so I think the same chance as any other page.
Speaker 3 (57:17):
That's true, but getting three twos is always an interesting thing.
Speaker 4 (57:22):
So well, if you like to think that we should
be using real dice, feel free to dm us and
if it's somebody we trust, we'll give you our address
to send those to us.
Speaker 1 (57:34):
Feel free to dm us, and we'll feel free to
ignore that and continue to use.
Speaker 4 (57:38):
Our dm us so that you can get our address
to send us some dice if you want to buy
them for us. We're not gonna buy dice for this.
Speaker 1 (57:47):
This is that's too much of an investment.
Speaker 4 (57:49):
Alice's birthday is coming up, so that would be a
nice present.
Speaker 3 (57:53):
It would be such a good present.
Speaker 4 (57:55):
Alice would be so happy with that.
Speaker 1 (57:59):
Okay, so we'll be we will be back next week.
Speaker 3 (58:03):
We're going to be doing book six, page two twenty two,
just for anybody curious. We do still plan to continue
with character studies at some point, but right now we're
just kind of trying to get the hang of the
one page at the time format. So we'll be on
this for a little while. But yes, so next week
we're going to do book six, page two twenty two.

Speaker 3 (59:22):
Is called best Harry Potter Podcast. My dad and I
read the books years ago and then began to listen
to your podcast. It's super informational but also hilarious. We
especially love to take fives and all the funny segments,
our favorite being the microwave minutes. Thank you plus shut
up Tim for all your hard work.
Speaker 1 (59:40):
PS.
Speaker 3 (59:41):
We are definitely third Sister Truthers. Okay, I loved the
review until we got to that last.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
See right, right, what are you talking about unless you're
talking about our parents' cat.
Speaker 3 (59:51):
Right, Yeah, but thank you, Lucy. I actually didn't think
that she was going to be a third Sister Truther
because of saying thank you, plus shut up Tim.
Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Right, that was the right way to say that. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
So, but then we launched into that bombshell dropped in
our PS.
Speaker 4 (01:00:07):
But that was horrible, Thank you very sure.
Speaker 3 (01:00:11):
That was a nasty shock to the system. I was
and I was taken for a ride as easily as
Ron being dragged away like a rag doll exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:00:20):
But I'm gonna be like Harry, I'm gonna try to
get back up again.
Speaker 4 (01:00:23):
So yes, O, when I got knocked down, I get
backed up again.
Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:00:28):
All right, Well, thank you Lucy, Thank you listeners. We
will be back next week to discuss Book six, page
two twenty two. And until then, we're the real weird sisters.
