E37: Real Life: Addiction and Recovery with Tim Ryan and Jennifer Gimenez

In episode 37, Tim Ryan, addiction specialist, recovering addict, and author of From Dope to Hope, and his wife, Jennifer Gimenez model, actress, and recovery advocate discuss the reality of addiction in their lives and what they are doing to help others with recovery. After the couple catches up with their good friend Aalia (4:00) Tim discusses how his heroin addiction uprooted his life (11:35) through a prison sentence, divorce, home foreclosure, and eventually the loss of his son from the same disease (17:00). After his time in prison, Tim established his non-profit A Man in Recovery to support those struggling with substance addiction (19:30). Tim and Jennifer met first to become business partners, but instantly there was a connection between the two (22:00). Bonded over similar trauma and the drive to help others overcome addiction, the couple continues to aid people into recovery.
