Speaker 1 (00:02):
NHL picks for Monday, November seventeenth, and we are live
here on wager Talk TV. It's puck time Andrew and
Carmine with you guys to break down a handful of games,
play of the day, Same Game Parlay, all kinds of
good stuff, and guys, because it is just the two
of us, we will take some questions from the chat

(00:22):
as well. Could be just hockey questions, could be betting
related questions. We want to chat with you guys today.
So good morning to all of you guys in here,
live with us. Hope you all had a great weekend
and harm Let's make some money here tonight on a
Monday night. Here, handful of games, a couple of decent
matchups to say, and you know we're always happy on

(00:45):
slates like this on a Monday night to get more
than a few games.

Speaker 2 (00:48):
That's what we have here tonight.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
We got some early start games, West Coast Game, A
lot of good stuff going on here today, KRM.

Speaker 2 (00:55):
So look forward to.

Speaker 1 (00:56):
Your same your pod play and my Same Game Parla. Hey,
these segments are going well for us right now. We're
cashing tickets, you're building the bank roll and showing people
how it's done, so let's keep it going calm and
then let's start this week off on a great note.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Man, how are you?

Speaker 3 (01:12):
I'm good Man, quiet a week and had passed in
NHL yesterday. I just didn't like the car. The only
one I slightly leaned to, and I was talking about
it on end Zone Live if anyone was watching, was
the Detroit Red Wings. I thought, coming off the loss
of the Sabers in which they blew that lead going
into New York, I just felt like it's the one
of the most unlikeliest things. You lose at home against

(01:33):
a bad team, and then you go on the road
and you beat a semi good team in the Rangers,
who struggle sometimes to score goals at home, and they
get it done. They win like two to one, and
Andrew the brawl at the end of the game was
the best. So I think quick a little upset that
one of the players from Detroit puts the puck into
the empty net right after the flood and he comes

(01:55):
off the bench, Come on, man, like, it's what difference
does it make?

Speaker 1 (02:00):
You?

Speaker 3 (02:00):
Know what I mean? It was a long game at
Ottawa where you know, the slap shot into the empty
net it's listen, you don't want to get scored on,
and uh, you don't want to get scored on with
an empty net. Have the lead, have the lead, you
don't have to worry about it.

Speaker 2 (02:15):
But uh, it wasn't even close though.

Speaker 1 (02:18):
Man, it wasn't even like the buzzer went that you
could have done like three mississippis and then the guy
shot the puck in the net.

Speaker 3 (02:24):
It wasn't you know what people are People are getting
soft nowadays, Andrew with this stuff. I understand the competitiveness,
but this is one time it didn't deserve it, but
you got a ten minutes because it happened after and
I think that comes with it might actually come with
a suspension because I believe that if you got a

(02:45):
ten minute mis conduct when there is no time left
on the clock at the end of a game, that
they assessed you a one game suspension. So we'll see
if that actually happens or not. Because there was two players,
one from each team that ended up with a ten
minutes mist conduct. But that said, the only places I
had yesterday were in the NFL three and one in

(03:08):
the NFL, including five percent outright Winter with the Dog
the Denver Broncos. When I saw that that spread, and
I just I just said, I am on the Broncos.
There's no way the chefs or the chiefs as some
people call them, are going in there unless they have

(03:28):
the officiating crew, their own officiating crew with them. They
got the job done. Three and one. NFL makes profit
once again for my clients, So I'm pretty happy about that.
And then Circa A five and oh weekend in Circa. Oh,
let's go about that. Yeah, five and oh weekend with Circa.
So I'm pretty happy about that one. And we move on.

(03:52):
But as good as that was, dude, you were eight
and oh yesterday, eight and o all sports week Sunday.
What the hell? Man? What what was in those corn flakes?

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Seven and oh yesterday eight and o Going back to
Saturday nights at HL play with Vegas. Yeah, five and
oh in the Gray Cup. CFL guys, don't sleep on
the CFL. I keep telling you, guys, if you don't
want to watch it, I'm not gonna make.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
You watch it.

Speaker 1 (04:20):
But it is a profitable league to bet on. And
that was really exciting. So five and oh in the
Gray Cup. Look, it's it's not really something where you
want to go that high volume with a big game
like that. But I didn't have any four or five
percent plays, carm. I'd kind of spread it around first half,
full game, two percent, three percent, and I had a

(04:42):
player prop as well, So gotta love that a little
bit of sprinkles. And I had the Red Wings yesterday,
had the Red Wings, and I had the first period
over in the Vegas game.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
So gotta love that.

Speaker 1 (04:53):
But you know what the shitty part is, carm, and
we always talk about both things before we get into
today's games, is that I loved two plays on Saturday night,
Vegas team total and Montreal team total. Now you know
I don't do big plays ever. On the Canadians, you
know what their final XG was, six point six y

(05:15):
three XG.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
They finished with two.

Speaker 1 (05:19):
Goals, man, and I had them as my five percent
play and my other play easy dominant victory Vegas four
to one.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
They get the job done. That's how life goes.

Speaker 1 (05:30):
So if you ask the people that only bought the
one play, they'd be like, oh, man, Andrews screwed me
this weekend. If you ask everybody else, it was an
eight and one weekend, so it was ever a time
for us to preach at you know, ten day package
or three day package or seven day package, whatever it is,
like Carl eight and one Saturday Sunday and the one

(05:53):
loss was a five percent play. If that doesn't define
how this works, man, it's tough.

Speaker 2 (05:58):
It's tough, I know, and this is.

Speaker 3 (06:02):
This is one of the reasons why I do the
Bankrolled Bankroll Builder. The bankroll challenge for the NHL season
is to show that your chips aren't always supposed to
go all in. To use a poker term, if you
see someone with like a five percent play five percent play,

(06:22):
I put more stock in a guy who has like,
let's say, who goes three and oh with like three
four percent plays because he's picking up twelve percent of
a bank roll. If I have to lose five percent
and then win three four percent plays and you're following
proper bank roll management, you've made money. So you know,

(06:43):
I grew up in a time and well before you
and Brian Leonard's in the chat and he remembers these
times where the Internet wasn't around, and it was the
I have a five hundred star, it can't lose, and
people are like, oh my god, you just just fooled

(07:04):
by this stuff, and then when it loses, they call
you and they're like, listen, man, I'm going to give
you half off my like thousand star play because it lost,
or you know, we want to get you back on board.
It's just back then it was it was shell games. Listen.
You have to you have to. If you're in this
for pure entertainment, then you know what, play your same

(07:27):
game parlays, do what you want to do with your
bank roll. But if you're in it to make money
long term, then you have to have bankroll management. And
this is why wager talk talks about two three, four percent,
five percent, and that is of your bank role. Everyone's
unit size is different as far as what their bankroll

(07:47):
is and what they'll end up putting on a play is.
So you know, you know, with that said that, that's
the one point I want to make on it. I
always reflect back to one day. I think it was
last year, the year before I went six in oh
in the Premier League EPL Saturday morning soccer all four

(08:08):
percent plays. I won twenty four percent and I lost
a five percent play, so I made nineteen percent on
the day and some guy on Twitter just ripped me say,
and I'm a stooge, and this and that. Well he
called me a bunch of names I've heard before. You
know what I mean. Me and my buddies, we call
ourselves everything but six and one nineteen units gain and

(08:32):
it's just and your and your prayer years come of
the earth. But with that said, one more thing I
want to address Andrew before we get into this first game.
We're gonna do Kay's Carolina and Boston. We're gonna do
the La Kings Washington. We're gonna do Utah and Anaheim.
Same game, Parlay and a pod. Jimmy Burke, I think
he said Italy karm Really yeah, Italy lost yesterday to Norway.

(08:56):
It was a meaningless game. The only way itly we're
gonna automatically qull of five for the World Cup was
to win nine to mil yesterday. They were never going
to score nine goals. I don't think they've scored nine
goals in all of the group stages combined. So this
is the way Italy gets into it. Because all my
Italian friends keep asking me, how does Italy get into
the World Cup. Next year in March, Italy will be

(09:17):
playing one of these four teams Wales, Northern Ireland, Sweden
and Romania at home one game playoff. If they win
that game, they will then play one of these four
teams to get into the World Cup Scotland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Albania,

(09:40):
North Macedonia, Iceland, Bosnia Kosovo. If Italy can't win two
games the semi final and final against these teams, they
don't deserve to be in the World Cup. That's just
the way it is. And with that said, we're back
to puck time. Yes, whatever your name is, Ak dirty

(10:02):
mother something. I don't know what he's saying there. Mover myers,
dirt mover, Ak dirt mover whatever. Okay, anyways, Andrew Carolina
Carolina Hurricanes one eighty seven, the Boston Bruins plus one
fifty seven total. Sits here at six. How are we
breaking this one down? It is the Canes and the Bruins.

(10:24):
I keep waiting for that Bruins regression that hasn't come yet.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Oh Man, oh man, oh man, car Man. Of course
they take down my Montreal Canadians. I'll tell you what though,
this is one of those games. Car I am not
someone that typically looks towards overs in Hurricane games. I'm
not the most excited to run to the window when
it comes to Hurricane game overs. I'm more so looking

(10:50):
towards defensive hockey when it comes to them, and they,
of course, they are coming.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
Off back to back overs.

Speaker 1 (10:56):
In fact, I think it's been for their last six
games have gone over the toe. But we know this
team is a defensive team when they are playing like
their true selves. But I see exactly you know how
says it best. Everyone's been taking down the Montreal Canadians
these days. Which organization, Karm, can you think of that's
had the most one eighty like since last Monday?

Speaker 2 (11:18):
It was like they're.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
Number one, number one in the league, number one in
the conference, and then all of a sudden they lose
three straight. So maybe I'm not that impressed by the
Bruins beating them. But this is a spot I think
where the Carolina Hurricanes are going to be very locked
in and if you want to look towards like defensive
metrics and if we want to use some of the
kind of the expected goals analytics and stuff like that

(11:40):
that we like to look towards here, Karm, this is
a Boston Bruins team that's given up a ton of chances.
And I think that when you look at more importantly
their goaltending. When I go through some of the goaltending
numbers right now, goals saved above expected, Jeremy Swayman ranks
fifth in the entire league in that category. Now, you

(12:01):
need to have really quality goal scoring chances in order
to be able to get goals on this Bruins team
right now. And unfortunately for the Monshreal Canadians and Saturday
Night carm it was too much perimeter like one thing
about that game, and you know me, I watched most
of that game that I could. They had too many

(12:21):
shots from the outside. And what am I trying to
say here is that Carolina doesn't do that. Carolina can
score from the inside, from the outskide in the blue paint,
They'll hit you anyway. So I think that I like
the over once again here, I think I would play
the team total over. But I think more importantly this
is one of those spots here where you can find
some spots to look towards player props on the Carolina Hurricanes.

(12:46):
This is I think if you like that team total,
you can get it at minus one fifteen. But I
think when you look at some of these player props,
that's where I'd go. If you're talking about a guy
like Jackson Blake, you know he's a good parlay guy.
He didn't end up making the cut for me on
my same game parlay, but Jackson Blake over on his
you can get him two plus minus one eighty five

(13:07):
or three plus at plus one sixty. I like Shane
gosssbear minus won twenty five over one and a half
shots on goal that's a pretty good one, and Andre
Sveetchnikov over two and a half shots on goal minus
won twenty five kr. A lot of people might not
realize this, but when it comes to shots on goal,
this Boston Bruins team right now, they are ranking where

(13:30):
are they They are coming in at twenty ninth in
the league and shots on goal loud. So I think
we're gonna see some goals in this one from both teams.
But I do like Carolina, but I think this is
a time where you look towards some shots on goal props,
some player props. Carolina off that loss against Edmonton, I
think we'll see a very motivated team here in this one.

Speaker 2 (13:50):
So Karm.

Speaker 1 (13:52):
You know, I've been burned the hard way this season,
and I've kind of been venting to the live shot
about this where it's like, Okay, Andrew, you can't be
going against hot teams too much. I've done a pretty
good job about picking a spot when the bad teams
are going to do well. You should have seen this
guy on Twitter. He was tweeting at me all day long.
When I tweeted out my free play of the day
Saturday was Vegas, They're like, dude, Vegas lost five in

(14:13):
a row, how are they going to win? So I
don't necessarily want to go against the Boston Bruins, but
I do think this is a game that can give
up some goals.

Speaker 3 (14:23):
Yeah, no, I don't disagree with you, Andrew. And it's
funny because while you were talking, because I did like
the Bruins team told I wanted to look it up
at DraftKings, and in our chat, Jimmy Burke actually put
in the just as I saw the price. He put
it into the chat as well too, that it's at
one thirty five. You know, you would think, you know

(14:45):
with the Bruins, and you look, you look at at
least through twenty games of the season, we're twenty five
percent of the season, pretty much done for the Bruins.
And in the NHL, you start looking for some trends
that that are positive, like they're ev picks when you
factor in the juice that are making money for you,

(15:07):
and the Bruins team total is one of them. The
Bruins this year, in twenty games, have gone over their
team total in fifteen of them. They're fifteen and five
to their team total. At home, they've gone over the
number over their team total in nine of eleven games,
nine in two at home. So and I'm always an

(15:27):
advocate of if you're going to play it and it loses,
play it again, and if you lose again, you're off
of it. Don't give up just because it didn't hit
the one time you played it. Profitable profitable trends are
just that profitable. But at some point you get priced
out big wise, one th five is the right price here.

(15:50):
If this goes to one forty five, I would not
play it. That ten cents makes all the difference when
you're recalculating profit. Something to look at as far as that,
but I think the Bruins give them a tough time
at a home tonight. I get it. Carolina is a
very good team, but Ruins of what won nine of

(16:10):
their last ten games, I believe, And you know, we've
had teams go in there. Colorado went in there and
they beat Colorado two to one. And Colorado's playing some
lights out hockey as well too, So I think the
Bruins are going to give them a tough time tonight
and could very well win this game. Outright, it wouldn't
surprise me. I didn't look it up, but I'm pretty

(16:31):
sure if I have a quick look right now. It's
been a condensed schedule for Carolina, and a lot of
the teams are going to be in this similar position.
But if I look at Carolina, this is, yeah, their
third game in four nights, because they played the fourteenth,
fifteenth off the sixteenth, and they're playing on now on
the seventeenth, and two of their games went to OT

(16:51):
against Vancouver and the Edmonton Oilers. So again, something to
factor in. There's been a few teams that have gone
into OT like four or five straight straight times. I
think you yeah, I know, you can say it's only
five minutes, but you still have to factor that in.
It still makes for a longer night for these teams.
So give me the team total, Andrew. That's my official

(17:14):
play as far as the show goes.

Speaker 1 (17:16):
Well, if you like the team total for the Bruins,
let's just get some overs in general, let's get some
goals overall, Le's get an exciting game at the garden.
Ko Chetkov too, Karm. He he has not lost a
game yet this season. He's expected to go for the Hurricanes,
and this one team that can probably you know, get
some goals past them and kind of ruin that streak.

(17:37):
It probably is the Boston Bruins right now. Who would
have thought that they would be the number one team
in the Atlantic Division right now. I definitely would not
have seen that coming, that's for sure. And yeah, ice
X points out here that McAvoy is out, and you know.

Speaker 2 (17:56):
That that injury that KRM.

Speaker 1 (17:58):
Usually if a player takes a put to somewhere in
the body or even to the face, like they can
come back the next day. Well, McAvoy like he took
a he took a puck like right to like you
you literally saw his teeth like in the slow mode
you could see like multiple teeth just like spitting out
of his mouth and like, I don't know if it's
his jaw or what's going on here. But the updated

(18:21):
injuries for this Bruins team Middle Stat, McAvoy, Arbitston. Those
are three key ones and lind home as well, so
we'll see. But they're playing so well at home right now,
it's hard to argue. So maybe the McAvoy one helped
my over six and a half. We'll see offense for
both teams.

Speaker 3 (18:38):
Don't you know what today is, Andrew? It's pasta Monday.
It's pasta Monday. Okay, pasta Monday, So let's go pasta
pasta hat trick that that gets my team total over
and it gets you on your way. It's pasta Monday.
So I don't know what I'm gonna have tonight. Maybe
some lasagna, some Joki, some Rigotoni al four. No, we'll

(19:03):
decide a little later on which pasta bianco will be
having for dinner tonight. But let's talk. Speaking of dinner,
let's talk about the Eli Kings and the Washington Capitals,
because the Kings have been paying for some dinners for me,
man Andrew. I like the way they're playing on the road.
They're starting to put things together, but they're a dog
here because Washington's starting to play well. Also, minus one

(19:25):
twenty six on the Caps Kings plus one oh six.
The total sits here at five and a half. Andrew,
where are you going?

Speaker 1 (19:34):
Yeah, and we got a guy fresh off a contract signing,
Adrian kempe Off signing I think for ten sheets, eight years,
so big contract for him. That's gonna be a really
interesting contract.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
To see how that one works out.

Speaker 1 (19:48):
It's either going to be a steal or it's going
to be like, hey, maybe some of these inflated numbers
aren't going to stick for the next eight years.

Speaker 2 (19:56):
We'll have to find out here.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
But confirmed for the Washington Capitols here at Karm Charlie
Lindgren three point five to nine goals against average, eight
seven to eight save percentage and he is won three
and one this season, So kind of interesting here seeing
that one. As far as of course the Kings are concerned.
Darcy Kemper's having a great year seven three and three,

(20:20):
two point four to four gaa, nine to zero three
save percentage. So looking at how this Capital's team is playing,
I completely get it, Karm. This team has definitely been
playing so much better hockey. We look at some of
their games, but they're still giving up goals. And that's
what kind of worries me here six against the Panthers,

(20:40):
a couple against the Devils there in that one, even
though I went to a shootout, defensively, I kind of
worry about this team. And I know it sounds crazy
because it's not that they're giving up a ton of goals,
but this is kind of a Kings team that I think,
in this spot is going to be able to show up.
They had a one nothing, boring game again the Senators,

(21:01):
But Karen, if we go to our trusty websites and
look at the expected goals in some of those games,
the Kings were much more exciting than that one nothing
score line dictates how often in the NHL these days
are we seeing a one nothing hockey game. It's not
really happening that much here. And when we look at
some of the just diving in at some of the

(21:21):
data here for the goaltending information for Lindgren, it's not great.
His rebound control isn't great, the amount of shots he's
facing compared to kind of one of those new stats
I've been looking at shot percentage that he covers up
and this is one of the worst rebound guys in
the Eastern Conference. Gives up a ton of rebounds, and

(21:42):
I feel like a team like the Kings are going
to take advantage of it. The only thing we can
really ask ourselves KRM, how do we feel about the
travel situation? And we have a comment here from Jimmy
saying Kings one to five last six at the Capitols.
I am a guy that definitely does take that stuff
into consideration. But I'm going to fade Charlie Lingren. I'm

(22:03):
going to fade Lingering here. I mean, if it's right now,
this Capital's team is a different team when Logan Thompson
is in between the pipes, and if it's not Logan Thompson,
I don't want anything to do with the Washington Capitals.

Speaker 2 (22:15):
So looking at this.

Speaker 1 (22:17):
King's team, the only thing I could really think about,
is this a flat spot for the Kings after they've
had a pretty good road trip so far.

Speaker 2 (22:25):
Is this a spot that it could be flat?

Speaker 1 (22:28):
We'll have to find out, but I think we see
goals maybe a first period overcarm coming off. Kind of
a boring game for the Kings, but probably deserve to
have more action in this Capital's team as well, coming
off some frustrating outings, maybe a first period over one
and a half, something like that. But I do look
to I do lean towards the King's side.

Speaker 3 (22:46):
I do, yeah, same year, I'm Willie Andrew. You look
at economy of the Elie King's home in a way,
and road is where they're picking up all their points.
They've played thirteen games on the road and only once
have they lost in regulation. Three OT losses, nine wins,

(23:11):
and they've beaten some very good teams. So does that
mean that they go into Washington and win tonight. It doesn't,
but they have that pedigree that they're showing we can
win on the road. We can play a defensive game,
we can score goals if we need to score goals

(23:32):
to win them. And I mean, like Washington's playing a
little bit better. You got to give them that battling back.
And you know, the game with New Jersey goes overtime,
they lose it in a shootout, which oddly enough, I'm
gonna get to that shootout in a second. But you
still have to start winning games before I want to
put more money on you or you know, I mean,

(23:53):
it's just or else is just throwing good money after bad.
So with that said, I'm going to take the plus
money here. I'll take the Kings at plus one oh
six and and see where we are at the end
of the night with that one. But you look at
the talk about OT games. I had three plays on
Saturday for clients. All three games went to a shootout, Andrew,

(24:16):
all three games go to a shootout. I win two
out of three, but it just goes to show you
that's your night is basically hinging on a skills competition.
I could have gone three and oh, I could have
very gone well, gone oh to three. I lucked out

(24:37):
on the one one of the two possible results that
made me money. Obviously two and one makes you money,
in three no makes you money, but it's just you
hate to see it. And Washington was the only game
that I lost in the shootouts. So with that said,
I'm not a big fan of the shootouts, Andrew, but
you can't keep playing OT until the guys collapse on

(25:01):
the ice. I did see Brian Leonard in the chats,
so I do want to mention before we get into
our third game. Brian has a five percent play up
over at wager Talk in the NHL tonight, so you
can get that on his page at wt dot buzz
backslash b L. I don't know what it is, but
I wish him the best of luck unless he's up

(25:23):
against the only play I have listed tonight, Andrew, then
I'll fake wish him luck. So with that said, let's
get to another team showing a little bit of regression
of late, and I thought it was going to come
sooner rather than later. The Anaheim Ducks now three in
a row that they've lost Utah minus one seventeen. They

(25:45):
are actual, they are the favorites because this game is
in Anaheim, Anaheim minus one three total sits here six
and a half. How you playing that?

Speaker 2 (25:55):
I love it, Brian says, here's a fake Thank you, Brian.
Good luck.

Speaker 1 (26:01):
Keep kicking ass man, keep kicking ass. Look, this one's
interesting because it kind of worries me. This Ducks team
was gonna see regression. We didn't know how long it's
gonna last for. But it's kind of like sometimes when
you when you when you fall, you fall hard, karm
And when I look at this particular matchup, this is

(26:21):
kind of like a Ducks team that I think is
is going to struggle in this matchup, and a lot
of the reason being is because of how well rested
we have this Utah Mammoth team. When you look at
both teams, even in this situation, you've got probably both
teams that are you know, one team is coming off
a game that was on Friday, and one team's coming

(26:43):
off a game that was on Saturday. But they didn't
have much action in that game against the Wild. The
Ducks were shut out, they were suffocated. They didn't give
up anything they weren't or they didn't get anything going. Offensively,
they couldn't do much. And so now we're starting to
see some of the offensive regression. And we've been waiting

(27:04):
to see if their offense would regress, but also to
see if these defensive metrics would finally start pouring in
on them. Now, carn when you look at the number here,
when I look at the money line price on this game,
look at where the Ducks are in the standings, look
at what they've done this season, and we kind of
ask ourselves, Okay, why is this close to a pick
them If the game is taking place in Anaheim and

(27:26):
it tells me all I have to know. And for
a team like the Mammoth, I love them coming off rest.
I love this team being well rested. It's not often
in this condensed schedule of the NHL these days where
we're going to see a team that hasn't played in
a handful of days like this. Typically a team will
play on Saturday, or they'll play on Sunday. So having

(27:47):
not played since Friday night, in a game in which
they were up to one after the first period and
they end up losing that one three to two in overtime,
They've had a couple of days now to sit to Stu,
to be upset about it and to be motivated to
get back on track. And I'll tell you this Mammoth
team overall hasn't really had a ton of success lately.

(28:09):
I've talked about it quite a bit. In their last
six games, the only two teams that they've beat, well,
I guess only two games they've won. We're both against
the Buffalo Sabers. They need to start beating other teams.
They need to start putting goals up on other teams
besides the Buffalo Sabers. Here Karm and I think this

(28:30):
is a good spot for them to do, so I
do lean towards the Mammoth in this one.

Speaker 2 (28:35):
And I'll tell you what.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
When we talk about goaltenders, like you can ride a
hot goaltender all you want, but when it comes down
to it, expected goals against and goals saved above expected,
Lucas Dustell is one of the best in the league.

Speaker 2 (28:53):
For the Anaheim Ducks.

Speaker 1 (28:56):
He ranks number one and expected goals against at forty
eight eight point eighty eight.

Speaker 2 (29:01):
He has saved this Ducks team time and time again. Karm.

Speaker 1 (29:05):
If this team keeps playing so poorly defensively, they're going
to give up chances. So my question back to you
is this am I reading too much into the rest
for the Mammoth? And if not, when you look at
rest these days in the NHL, Karm, how does that
affect how you feel about a team? Because sometimes I

(29:27):
like to say that lack of rest leads towards overs,
So I guess the other way around would lead towards
unders if they're well rested, and that would be the
Mammoth being well rested here in this one. But what
do you think about the totals here? And just really quick,
Jimmy says, I don't lay juice with bad teams. Andrew
Jimmy ask yourselves. Are the books stupid? Are they dumb?

(29:50):
Why are they minus one fifteen? Then if they're so bad,
the books are not stupid. And I've learned to respect
opening numbers and respect what the books have to say
a car because anytime we say what the hell are
the books thinking with this number? Typically the books usually
have a number right. But what do you think about
the rest here? So they haven't played since Friday.

Speaker 3 (30:12):
I'm not worried about the rest at all. I don't
think it's one of those rest and rust kind of
kind of things. I think the rest takes on a
little more important mid season or when that grind starts
from from the you know sixty, from the sixty game
mark and on. It's what I'm interested to see, and

(30:34):
I'm going to watch this game, but I'm not gonna
have a plate on it. I'm just going to tell
you what my lean here is. My lean is the
under I want to see all the Ducks play tonight
because this is really you look at the Ducks from
the last few years and nothing has been expected of
this team and they get rid of Zegris, they bring

(30:55):
in obviously, they bring in Joel Quinnvilla as a coach.
He's had a fantastic job for them. They go off
to phenomenal start, winning a bunch of games and playing
some very exciting hockey with a lot of speed. This
is probably now with a three game losing streak, the
first adversity that this team has faced on the season.
So we get it losing one, we get it losing two. Three,

(31:18):
you start to worry that if you lose, if you
lose a fourth, you're into a full fledged losing streak.
Three I'm never worried about it's the fourth game, so
I just want to see how they respond tonight. And
responding doesn't mean they need to go out there and
win a game five to four or five to three.
Responding means they need to put in a good defensive effort,

(31:41):
score enough goals to win the game, and put on
a good performance. But as you mentioned with dol style,
and I like Vamelka as well too as the goalies,
I think this is one of those close games that
maybe finishes three to two, maybe four to two under
the total. So that's where I'm leaning here at six

(32:03):
and a half, taking the six and a half, leaning
a little bit of Viig and taking the under in
this one.

Speaker 1 (32:11):
I like it, I do, And I think that that
kind of goes with what I was saying. With teams
that are fatigued, I usually like looking towards the over,
but well rested, I like to look towards the under.
It's a sharp spot here, and the Ducks are going
to be dialed in. They're going to want to play well,
play smart, play well at home. And I think that
a lot of people can misunderstand that this Manmoth team

(32:31):
is going to be so desperate that they're they're maybe
going to be more calculated. I'd say, like all jokes
aside about the Buffalo Sabers karm, this team needs to
beat other teams besides the Buffalo Sabers. This team is
going to come out hungry, but they're going to come
out calculated, I think, which which leads us towards the under.
So hopefully we can catch a ticket on this one.
How about three two utah? Three two utah is fine

(32:56):
with me? That works well if it's okay with you.
Three two utah. It's a late night game. I don't
know about you though. With the late night games, it's
like when you're watching an under in the late night game,
it's so much harder to watch, Like I almost prefer
not to watch it if I have the under in
the late night game. If I have an over, I
can stay up for it. But if I have the under,
it's like I'll check my phone. I don't need to

(33:17):
watch the under.

Speaker 3 (33:18):
I'm an old guy, man. I might be to sleep
early time. That's only because I set my alarm super early.
This morning, I had a seven point thirty in the
morning appointment to get my winter tires on. I was
the first first appointment of the day. I parked right
in front of the service door at Honda and enjoyed

(33:39):
my sausage and egg McMuffin combo from McDonald's and waited
for them to open up. So I am. I'm a
little tired and frazzled. So we shall see. But you know,
with that said, if it makes you happy, three to
two for Utah, sure that's good enough for me. Give
me the under this one. Now, with that said, Andrew,

(34:03):
should we go to would you like to go first
with the same game parlay? You want me to lead
off with a pod.

Speaker 2 (34:11):
You go ahead, You go ahead, carm and yeah, feel
free to mention what you.

Speaker 1 (34:14):
Have up at wager talk too, because I think it's
a decent slate and I know that you know me
and you don't have a ton tonight, but worth having
a play on.

Speaker 3 (34:23):
Yeah, no plays right now. In as far as World
Cup qualifying, there's some games of interest today, but the
lines aren't edible. Books are very tight with their lines,
so I'm not gonna put out plays that that we're
not getting the best of it. With that said, one
play up tonight, it's the four percent NHL best bet

(34:46):
you can get that over at wager talk. We're on
a little, nice little run. We're moving forward that ten
days for ninety nine dollars. It is still a great deal.
I'm not sure when that expires, but it's still on
the page. So grab back his. NFL's rocking. NNHL is
going to be busy, and soccer obviously returns as well too.

(35:07):
My pod play, I am going to go to the
over in a game in which I would never think
about taking this team, but I've been looking at their
numbers and the Vancouver Canucks play the Florida Panthers. Night
is second of a back to back for the Vancouver Canucks.
The total sits here at six. It's going to be

(35:28):
Petera in goal for Vancouver tonight because it was lanking
in the other night. Demko is obviously still injured. Should
be Brebrowski for Florida. But here's a weird stat, or
a relevant stat. Vancouver has the second best over under
a record, behind only the Leafs, who are sixteen and

(35:50):
three to the over this season in nineteen games. Vancouver
is thirteen four and two to the over. Even more interesting,
the last nine games for Vancouver have all gone over
the total. So let's see if we can get a
tenth out of them with their goalie that they called
up from the AHL, who has not been having a

(36:11):
good time of it in the AHL either, so it's
not like he's bringing great form with him to Vancouver.
Might be one of those games where we see a
bunch of goals. I'm hoping we do. And that's going
to be your pod play today, James Andrew.

Speaker 2 (36:30):
That are Oh sorry I thought I was.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
I don't know if you can hear me talking there,
but you got to love those teams that just keep
on going over the total. That's what we're getting right
now with this team. And I'll tell you what I
think this Canucks team.

Speaker 2 (36:45):
They're better off when they're an underteam.

Speaker 1 (36:47):
But they're getting into these track meets right now, which
may or may not be a good thing for them, Karen,
but it's a good thing for our bank rolls if
we're betting on overs.

Speaker 2 (36:56):
So we'll take it. We will take it.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Im Gonna keep you on screen with me if that's
all right for the same game parlay here. Look, this
is one of those ones I first of all, don't
have the graphic yet for today. Excuse me. Not as fancy,
not as crazy today here, guys, but this is a
really good prop parlay. And this is one of those
ones here where you're kind of really looking at number
one head to head data. Ryce Levkovski has done very

(37:23):
well in his past in his career against the Columbus
Blue Jackets. This month, Sean Kadien's team has lost a
handful in a row now, three straight losses. For the
Canadians to get to play a Blue Jackets team that
does give up a ton of goals, weak around the
power play, so they should be able to take advantage
of it. And speaking of the power play, this is
one that kind of pays off if you're following the

(37:46):
Beat reporters and the Beat writers, and of course I
am with the Canadians. Zachary bold Duke has been added
back to the number one power play unit, and Ivon
Demidov has gone back down to the power play too,
and bold Duke with the Kirby doc in is now
upgraded to the second line, so he's already carm big
plus money to get a point, but I don't think

(38:08):
he should be because he's now playing on the second
line with Kappanan and with the meat off, So that's
more of a research play because I don't think that
bull Duke in the future is probably going to be
plus one for moving forward. So those two guys. Connor
McDavid over two and a half shots on goal against
the Buffalo Sabers Number one. McDavid has a great history

(38:30):
against the Buffalo Sabers, but also this Sabers team gives
up some of the most shots on goal in the league.

Speaker 2 (38:35):
And then Zach Hyman is back. Zach Kymon is back.

Speaker 1 (38:39):
He played on Saturday in their win against the Hurricanes
Carm and he comes back from injury and immediately they
put him on the top line, right next to Connor McDavid.
This is four picks guys for plus eight thirty one.
Four picks plus eight thirty one McDavid shots, Hymen points,
Slewkowski points and bull Duke points plus eight thirty one.

(39:01):
Let's cash this ticket, guys. I really like this one.
I like this one. I love this price at plus
eight thirty and that's good one. So guys, let me
know in the comment section if you're tailing, and hopefully
we can start the week off on a good note.
I believe we've hit a couple of these and two
of them have come on Monday. Two of them have
come on Monday, So let's start the week off on
a really good note. And uh, I like it, Carm

(39:24):
just Monday, Yeah, come on, I like it. And also
the bul Duke one, he can get some points five
on five, but I love the fact that he was
just moved to the power play the first unit in
this game, so it's kind of interesting to look towards
perhaps zero for seventeen with their last seven power plays.

(39:44):
He got hurt again broken leg. I feel so bad
for this guy.

Speaker 2 (39:49):
Man.

Speaker 1 (39:49):
Three straight years, he's got hurt three straight years. He
and guess what this is the thing is that coaches
want to see all their players block shots. Right, he
fractured his foot blocking a shot.

Speaker 3 (40:03):
I don't know. Back in my day, Andrew, you wrapped
it up with some duct tape and you got right
back out there and you played hockey. So now it's
like I stubbed my toe and I'm on the disabled
list for forty eight hours. So times have times have changed?
And but yeah, Brian Leonards, hopefully he's still in the chat.

(40:27):
We'll give him another fake good luck. I'll have to
find out what his play is so I can give
him a truly good luck. But with that, with that said,
give him some love. He did a great job hosting
for me that one day and filling in on a
couple other days as a guest. And you'll see him
tomorrow on Puck Time, him and Don Julio Buster. There'll

(40:50):
be the guests on tomorrow's show. The Press returns on Thursday.
Andrew and I solos on Wednesdays. Any questions you guys
might have going right now in the NHL, just let
us know. Andrew if you see any we will put
them up again. As far as some great promos, guys,

(41:11):
this is a really good week, I'm telling you. In
the NHL some games Andrew I actually call it called
Prez yesterday and I'm like, Okay, I've got your five
percent play for you for Wednesday. Because he'll bounce some
ideas off of me, I just give him the play
and I'm like, Okay, this is what you gotta make
your your play. If he's watching this show right now,
he'll probably deny it. But I gave him a play

(41:35):
for Wednesday. We'll see if he does it or not.
And tomorrow I am going to give you guys, or
I'm going to talk about a team, much like I
did with Pittsburgh, that has a schedule coming up that
I think is going to send him into a downward spiral.
Penguins lose four to five in that one. Brian Leonards

(41:55):
somehow came up with the only winner in those five
games with the Pittsburgh Penguins. He's getting mentioned more times
on this show than the games themselves, But any questions.

Speaker 2 (42:10):
Not much here.

Speaker 1 (42:10):
Today people are talking about the goaltending for the Golden Knights,
talking about how Carter Hart can't play till December. First, Yeah,
Aiden Hill on the injured. What's the other goalies name out?
I can't remember his name. It's something like Blom what's
his name?

Speaker 2 (42:26):
Krm?

Speaker 1 (42:27):
The hold on. I'll try and get it. I'll try
and get it. Linn Blom lin Baum. Yeah, he's not
been great either, eight eight nine save percentage yesterday, but
he's not making the big stays whatsoever. Vegas is in
trouble a little bit as far as their defense is concerned.
But I will say this, if you look at the
Golden Knights and their schedule that they've faced a little

(42:50):
bit recently, they haven't been playing the easiest teams by
any means. Like they played the Lightning, they played the Panthers.
The Panthers are still a good team here, guys. They
played the Avalanche and you know they're they're still playing
a pretty good schedule. So we'll see what ends up happening.
Because this night's team has the Blackhawks, they have the Sharks,
they have the Flyers, they have the Jackets, they have

(43:11):
some teams coming up. So Caen, we talk about forecasting,
maybe it could be a forecast for some wins coming
up for the Vegas Golden Nights moving forward. So not
much else man here in the in the live chat,
I'll just say this, guys, one best bet for me
in the NHL. We'll see if I add more. One
best bet for me. It's an eight n O all

(43:32):
sports run. We are on a six and one NHL run,
so we'll try and keep things going.

Speaker 2 (43:37):
Man.

Speaker 1 (43:37):
That's what's what it is. It's the ebbs and flows,
the ups and downs. We're trusting the process, and I'm
feeling pretty good.

Speaker 2 (43:44):
Here today, guys.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
And for those of you guys that are with me
long term, if you are not someone that is going
to say, oh, he lost his five percent on Saturday,
so he had a bad weekend. That was the only
loss of the weekend. Eight and one across all sports
on this weekend. So also we got a twenty one
and eight NFL prop run. I got one best bet

(44:07):
player prop for tonight in the NFL.

Speaker 2 (44:09):
SOKRM. That's about it.

Speaker 1 (44:10):
We still have time for the ten days for less
than ten dollars deals. If anybody interested in that, you
want to get on board with Carmine, you want to
get on board with myself. Ten days, that's the way
to do to do it, I don't want you guys
buying my singular plays. Get on for ten days and
and that's.

Speaker 2 (44:25):
The way to go.

Speaker 1 (44:25):
So that way you're not just banking on one bet.
You know how people get karm just the one bet.

Speaker 3 (44:31):
It's dang yeah, no, yeah, one day. You can't if
you made all your judgments based on one day. It's
a a marathon, not a sprint. But at least ten
days gives you a good a good sample size of
games because someone over ten days is probably gonna put
out aboute twenty plays, twenty twenty five plays, and that's

(44:56):
at two and a half three, you know, plays a day.
So it is a good sample size across different sports,
and then you can sort of go from there. But
with that said, the only thing I have remaining, like
I said, the only the one playing the NHL. I
did mention to you guys last week, and some of
you already took advantage of it. It's on my page,
but I believe it expires at midnight tomorrow. I'll check

(45:21):
with Melissa in our office. She's solo today, so if
you're sending her emails, understand that there's a bit of
a delay. She is swamped with work, but have the
Cup to Cup Special NHL right through to the Stanley
Cup finals and then as soon as that's over, it
is the World Cup and I'm looking forward to that.

(45:42):
Going to travel through some locations in the US. If
I'm hitting your area, I will let you know, and
of course some games here in Toronto as well too,
so looking forward to it. You can get all of
those as part of one package over at wager Talk
on my page. That's it, guys, for myself Andrew mckinnis.

(46:04):
This is Puck Time. We will be back tomorrow eleven am.
Don Buster Brian Leonard and our fearless producer Dan Alexander,
who is out celebrating his Philadelphia Eagles victory from against
the Detroit Lions where they got a suspect pass interference call.
But we'll talk about that another day.

Speaker 1 (46:26):
All right, guys, thanks for watching. We'll see you guys
next time right here on Puck Time.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
