Washington is putting on a show again—and this time the mask slipped hard. Newly released Epstein files just revealed that Democrat delegate Stacey Plaskett was texting Jeffrey Epstein for advice during a 2019 oversight hearing… and the political class immediately scrambled to cover for her.
In this episode, we break down:
 • How Epstein was literally scripting her questions for the Michael Cohen hearing
 • Why a bipartisan deal quietly killed her censure vote
 • How Republicans protected one of their own in return
 • Why Congress ALWAYS shields its members, no matter the scandal
 • And why the “R vs. D” fight is just a distraction from the real club running D.C.
It’s the same corrupt pattern every single time.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact that we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Don't know whether to laugh or cry on this one.
But again it's another c I told you so moment. Basically,
swamp things, swamp things, protect other swamp things. What are
swamp things? Well, you know, Republicans, Democrats, people that work
in Washington, DC. This didn't make This didn't make the

(00:40):
major news networks by any stretch, because again, this is
just showing you how screwed up the system is. I
talked about the bs that you're being fed all the
time between Democrats and Republicans and these little fights that
they have going on. The more that we believe that
this is not all some big show, the better off

(01:03):
it is for them. Case in point. Okay, this actually
happened yesterday. Okay. Part of the Epstein file thing was
this representative from the Virgin Island Stacy Plaskett. She's a
Democrat delegate from the territory of the US Virgin Islands

(01:25):
and she's also on the House Permanent Select Committee on
Intelligence that oversees US intelligence activities. She was actually this
all came out in the Epstein files. She was texting
with Epstein during an Oversight Committee hearing back in two

(01:47):
thousand and nineteen. Epstein was advising her. Epstein was advising
her on questions that she should ask in the Michael
Cohen hearing, and she did again knowing that this guy,
knowing about his convictions, knowing about his record of rape,

(02:10):
knowing about his trafficking of women, no problem. So they
had a vote to censure her yesterday on the House
floor and this would have actually also would have removed
her from the the Intelligence Committee as well. The censure

(02:32):
got pulled. Well, you said, Republicans, don't they don't they
run the House. They do, they do. But a deal
was made, Hey, watch this swamp things, protect swamp things.
Three Republicans crossed the aisle and voted voted with the

(02:57):
Democrats to stop the pla Skit censure resolution in a
swamp so Democrats would not bring up the Corey Mills,
who was a Republican cens your resolution for alleged physical
assaults and threatening to release pornography on an ex girlfriend

(03:18):
and an ethics violation in regards to his military record,
which might be false. Yeah, swamp things, protect swamp things.
So all of you raw raw Republicans, rab raw Democrats.

(03:40):
Did you see how you wait? You are wasting your time? Okay,
you see you're gett an all bent that did the
same thing. How many times has this happened? You remember
Charlie Wrangle Wrangles from Harlem. You have all the financial

(04:00):
shenanigans that I mean, just crook and crap that he
was involved with, got nailed on at all. Oh, I know,
I think they did end up, you know, censuring him
for a period time. They didn't lose any time, Nothing
happened to them. This is why you're gonna start hearing

(04:21):
a little bit about Oh, we're gonna we're gonna work,
We're gonna do something in regards to don't don't don't
don't don't stock trading and all this stuff. Are you
fricking kidding me? Yeah? Yeah, we've had that that Stock
Act since was it for like thirteen years?

Speaker 1 (04:38):
Now?

Speaker 2 (04:38):
Has it done a damn thing anything really changed at
all outside the fact that the staffers, the staffers for politicians,
they can't inside trade anymore, come one. I know I've
overused this Carlin bitt. I think I already used it
once this week. It's big club and united. It You

(05:00):
and I ain't in this, okay, Nor would I want
to be, Nor would I want to be. I wouldn't
last again. I would I can. I would end up
getting into a physical altercation soon around. I know myself,
but anyway, watchdog on Wall Street dot Com

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
