Chris unloads on Donald Trump’s shocking H-1B visa comments during his disastrous Laura Ingraham interview — a moment that’s left his base stunned and opponents giddy. Once a fierce critic of the guest worker program that replaced Americans with cheaper foreign labor, Trump now appears to defend it, contradicting his own 2016 promises. Chris traces the long, ugly history of H-1B abuse from Disney to Silicon Valley, exposes how both parties sold out U.S. workers, and argues that America’s moral backbone — not just its economy — is at stake.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
The Watchdog on Wall Street podcast explaining the news coming
out of the complex worlds of finance, economics, and politics
and the impact it we'll have on everyday Americans. Author,
investment banker, consumer advocate, analyst, and trader Chris Markowski.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Wheels on the Magabus are coming off H one B debacle.
It seems like I'm not kidding, says I got a
thousand years ago, one thousand years ago when it was
very fired up about Donald Trump becoming president. I thought

(00:40):
it was fired up because I think I thought he
changed after the shooting. I really did this appearance on Rogan.
I obviously didn't want any part of Kamala Harris now
first for us, it was my first choice. I was
Aron de Santa Sky from the get go, and I
think Ron was a better choice. But it is what

(01:02):
it is. Go to the old South Park episode, you're
often either voting for a shit sandwich or a giant
douche that's going all the way all the way back
to Bush versus carry. It was a pretty funny episode anyway. Anyway,
this year, remember remember elon Musk and Doge and cutting

(01:23):
government spending and all the Epstein files coming out. Ah,
we were going to get peace in the Ukraine. It
was just a lot of really positive things that were
going on at that period of time. And look at
us now in what is probably his worst interview ever ever. Uh,

(01:47):
the interview with Laura Ingram. It completely went off the rails.
Right now, any any candidate, any Donkey candidate right now
is going to grab this interview and this is the
only thing. They can just run this as a campaign ad.
You could just run this part. I mean, there's many

(02:10):
parts in that interview that you could run as a
campaign ad, but this one was took the cake. Took
the cake. Laura Ingram was criticizing H one B Visus
during her interview with Trump, and the President replied, well,
I agree, but you also do have to bring in talent.

(02:34):
We have plenty of talented people here. Laura Ingram shot back,
Trump said, no, you don't. Ingram questioned, we don't have
talented people here. No. People saw this and went ballistic,

(03:00):
went ballistic. I don't mind everybody, what is it. Uh,
let's say the riveter I've heard with the lorry from
World War Two. I can't remember the exact name. We had.
We had housewives making aircraft and tanks during World War Two.

(03:28):
That was something that took place. We can't train people
how to work in these factories. I don't have any
problem with H one B visas if they are used properly,
but they have been abused for a very long time,

(03:54):
a very long time. Businesses know this. Businesses know that, Hey,
they basically we own that worker. It's they're getting paid.
But it's a quasi form of indentured servitude. Okay, they
don't like you anymore. You got to go home. It's
not like you can up and leave that job and
look for another one. For crying out loud as an

(04:16):
employer like, hey, look at this, I got a worker.
I got a worker, and they can't up and leave
to a competitor and get paid. More So, there has
been a ton of abuse. And I've said this from
the get go. Why do we need these visas? If
we need these workers, why don't we look for people

(04:38):
that actually want to come here and become an American.
This just lowers the wages for everyone here in the country.
It's not right. I did an entire thing on this
back in twenty fifteen, twenty fifteen. This was into twenty sixteen,
as well. There was a scandal at Walton Disney World.

(05:01):
That's right, Disney Disney. And this again at the time,
I was living in Sarasota, Florida. The interview took place
in Sarasota, Florida. Basically, these were workers at Disney that
were training their foreign replacements. Disney and I quote, like

(05:26):
when a guillotine falls down on you. It's hard to
overestimate how many Americans livelihoods have been damaged by the
H one B VISA guest worker program, which allows employers
to hire This is again, this is twenty fifteen, about
one hundred and thirty thousand new college educated foreign workers
every year for up to six years at a time.
The Disney H one B scandal broke into the spotlight.

(05:50):
New York Times first uncovered it. You had what was
also The LA Times did a report on southern California
Edison replaced seeing hundreds of American workers with H one
B guest workers. And these are just the tip of
the iceberg. Employers looking to cut costs overplace substitute, overlooked

(06:13):
American workers for hundreds of thousands of jobs, and the
US government has facilitated the suspension of their wages for
decades through its management of the H one B guest
worker program. Yeah again, Bernie Sanders was involved with this infosis.
Another company was doing this, and Obama said he was

(06:36):
going to pay attention to it, and he let them
off the hook. Guest workers paid tens of thousands of
dollars less to do the same job. Again, this ye,

(06:57):
bob Iger. Bob Iger was obviously, he was a big
supporter of Obama. They let this party's leader. Buyer is
in charge of the leader Partnership for a New American Economy,
which advocated for more H one b's by claiming there's
a shortage of American talent. Again at the time as well, Okay,

(07:25):
to the candidates at the time, Okay again, Marco Rubio
and Jeb Bush were running for president back when this
was taking place, and they were both at the time
proposing to expand the H one B program. Again, this
is these are politicians getting paid, and obviously it looks
like Donald Trump's gotten paid now too. Again, how else

(07:49):
are you gonna look at this? Okay, because I'm gonna
give you this is a statement by Donald Trump March third,
twenty sixteen. The H one B program is neither high
skilled nor immigration. These are temporary foreign workers imported from
broad for the explicit purpose of substituting for American workers

(08:10):
at lower pay. I remain totally committed to eliminating rampant,
widespread H one B abuse and ending outrageous practices such
as those that occurred at Disney in Florida when Americans
were forced to train their foreign replacements. I will end
forever the use of the H one B as a
cheap labor program, and institute an absolute requirement to hire
American workers first for every visa and immigration program, no exception.

(08:35):
That's Donald Trump back in twenty sixteen. That was Donald
Trump yesterday with Laura Ingram on his program. I don't know, people,
it's kind of checkmate, quite frankly, how youre you gonna

(08:57):
get around this one? I don't know. I don't know.
And again I have no problem with legal immigration here
into this country none whatsoever. I think it's fantastic. I
do this. This visa program I think is bullshit. I do.

(09:18):
I think it's bs. I think it's wrong all around.
I got these are people who are coming from you know,
That's what Donald Trump would say. Shit whole countries. Derbots,
Why are coming here to fill these jobs? And they're
doing it at below market rates? This is why businesses
are doing this Again, the US Chamber of Commerce has
been for all this crap for a very long period

(09:39):
of time. And again both Democrats and Republicans, both Obama
wanted it both at the time. It was Marco Rubio
and Jeb Bush. They were running for president at the time. Hey, now,
why you know what? Donald Trump's into it too. What
happened man? What happened? Train for these jobs? We just

(10:05):
choosing not to do so. Financialization of this country, it's
almost again its financials, it's almost become self aware. For
crying outline and talk about determinator and a determinator and
sky net becoming self aware. It's almost like that some

(10:26):
of these things. It becomes self aware. Our country doesn't
work and capitalism doesn't work unless it has an ethical,
ethical backbone basis to it. This is wrong, This is wrong.

(10:47):
Many of these CEOs. Oh, it's right in here and
now because it helps today's profits. But what does it
do to the country over the long term? What does
it do for the country of the long run? That
can't be beneficial to the company, but I don't care
because all they care about quarters earnings because that's how
they get paid based upon a stock price. Again, fundamental
flaw that we've talked about here on the program with

(11:09):
This Country again. I don't know. Somebody explain this. I'm
sure he's gonna have Scott Bessett out there saying, oh,
I know, no. Trump was just saying we're gonna bring
in foreign workers to train Americans. Dude, go sell bullshit

(11:29):
somewhere else. I'm so sick and tired of seeing Scott
Besson's face coming on TV okay, running cover for the
president saying some other nonsense coming out of his I mean,
it's getting annoying quite Frankly, Reset for crying out loud.
You guys are blowing it bigly. Watchdog on Wall Street

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
