Caught in the throes of a relentless bronchial cough, I've been navigating the choppy waters of health while Andrew and Ren, luckily, steer clear of the storm. Meanwhile, our palates take a bold journey through the rich tannins of "The Arsonist," a wine blend that ignites conversation just as fervently as it does the taste buds. Amidst the wine-tasting, we swap tales of Fancy Nancy's exploits and chuckle over Rebel Wilson's self-narrated escapades, embracing the simple joys that punctuate the complexities of life.

Tread lightly with us into the murkier depths where entertainment and controversy intersect, as we unravel the Sacha Baron Cohen debacle and its reverberations through the industry. In the same breath, we celebrate the tenacity of motherhood via IVF at 42 and lose ourselves in the boisterous beats of gym playlists and the cinematic buzz of Netflix's "Baby Reindeer." As we wrap up, we reflect on the seesaw of parenting, compare our coffee quirks to our personalities, and resonate with the characters who mirror our own life's script in a heartfelt ode to the everyday chaos and charm.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hi everyone and welcome to Wine 30 with Andrew
and Lindsay.
If you're wondering, doesLindsay sound a little weird
today?
She does, Because she's gettingover some kind of bronchial
like bronchitis maybe I don'tknow.
I don't know exactly what it is, but it's a dry cough and

(00:22):
throat thing.
So yay me.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
It's so strange because I didn't get it at all.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, andrew and Ren are both completely fine and I'm
over here like dying.
I've like slept on the couchthe last three nights because I
feel so bad sleeping in bedbecause I cough like literally
every ten seconds.

Speaker 2 (00:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (00:41):
I'm like I don't want to be that person, just like
keeping andrew up all night.
So I think it's getting betterthat's my voice, so like I was
wondering when guys voice haschanged.
When they're like, uh, goingthrough puberty, does it like

(01:02):
hurt when their voice cracks?

Speaker 2 (01:03):
nah, no, it just happens.
Nothing hurts.
I don't think I feel likeeveryone makes any an
exaggeration of how much likegrowing hurts.
The only thing that hurts fromgrowing, in my perspective or my
experience, is growing painswhen you're like 14 plus.

Speaker 1 (01:26):
I actually my worst growing pains.
I was probably like probablylike from eight to like 10.
Um, I used to get horrible, horrible growing pains in my
shins cause, like my legs weregrowing so fast.
I had really long legs and, um,I was like taller than my older
sister but my legs were growingso fast that, like I got really

(01:49):
bad growing pains.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Are you sure they weren't shin splints?

Speaker 1 (01:52):
No, they're growing pains.
That's well.
That's what the doctor said, anyways, that they were growing
pains.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
I think that's a really weird place to have
growing pains.

Speaker 1 (02:01):
Legs are very common.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I think legs are.
Yeah, but like your shin islike well, it's like your calves
, like it was, I mean like thelower half of my leg yeah was
usually the part that hurt theworst it's crazy looking at her
a little boy, because he's sotiny and you're like wow, he's
gonna grow, his bones are gonnagrow his whole body's gonna grow
like His whole body's going togrow His whole body's going to
grow so fast and you're like, wow, that must be kind of like

(02:28):
what Lindsay was saying.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
It should be painful, but maybe not because we're
built to handle it, you knowthere were definitely times when
he was like only a couple ofmonths old though, where I was
like, oh, he's not sleepingbecause he's probably having
growing pains, because he'sgoing through a growth spurt.
It's crazy because the firstyear of a baby's life, they

(02:52):
essentially triple their birthweight and then, as toddlers,
they start to slow down a littlebit.
It's only a couple of pounds ayear or whatever.
But you know what else is crazy?
This wine that Andrew pickedout this week.

Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, lindsay had a glass the other day.

Speaker 1 (03:07):
I didn't even have a glass.
I had like a sip and couldn'tfinish my glass.
It was so sad because it wasdecent.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Yeah, I think it's pretty good.
It's called the Arsonist andit's a Petit Verdot Cabsov and
Malbec blend.

Speaker 1 (03:23):
It's a nice blend.

Speaker 2 (03:24):
I think so.

Speaker 1 (03:25):
What year is it?

Speaker 2 (03:27):
It's a 2020 vintage.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
Oh, nice so.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
I guess that would technically be three and a half
years.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Yeah, where is it from I?

Speaker 2 (03:42):
don't know.
That's a good question.
Let's find out.

Speaker 1 (03:48):
Dunnington Hills.
Dunnington Hills, it from, I'mgonna.
That's a good question, let'sfind out.
Dunning den hill, dunning denhills, dunning den hills.
So that's just north of wherewe're at, in the middle of
nowhere yeah, fun.

Speaker 2 (03:54):
I think they did a really good job.
It's really dry.
Do you remember anything fromtasting it?

Speaker 1 (03:58):
um, well, I'm sick, so I feel like my tasting, like
even though I can taste, I don'tknow how like accurate and spot
on it is.
Um, I remember before I tastedinjury was like this is so good.
And I took a sip and I was likethat's pretty good.
Forever red blend.
I'm always scared of red blends, but this was a good one yeah,
I'm thinking current gettingblack currants like dark berries
.

Speaker 2 (04:18):
It's like very tanniny.
My whole mouth is pretty muchdry it's like it's enveloped in
tannin it's not the driesttannin wine I've ever had, but
it's really nice and dry.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Cool.
So let's talk about what we'vebeen watching, reading, playing
and listening to this week.
First up, I have been reading alot of Fancy Nancy books with
Wren, and when I say a lot,we've read 31 of them so far.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Wow, do you have a?

Speaker 1 (04:46):
favorite?
Probably not.
Maybe the boy from Paris, because it's funny, because it's
like this kid moves to herclass and she's like late to
class.
But they're like, oh, this isRobert, and he's from Paris.
And she's like, oh, my gosh,I'm obsessed with Paris.
So she's like look, here's myEiffel tower, stuff.
Come to my house, let's hangout, whatever.

(05:07):
And then, um, come to find outhe's from paris, texas, and not
paris, france ah so it's likeit's funny mystery about.
Yeah, I like how you're likeprobably not, and then there's
this one that pops out okay, that's cool I mean, I don't know
if it's my favorite, but it'sthe one that, like I thought of
first therefore, all right, Ihaven't really been reading

(05:32):
anything new I did listen torebel wilson's audiobook for
rebel rising this week, which islike her autobiography memoir,
and I thought it was really goodand I liked it as an audiobook
because it's like her voicesaying it obviously, so it makes
it more human.
Um, like it was crazy, like shecalled out sasha baron cohen

(05:53):
for like being like a creep oh,yeah, that okay and like trying
to pressure her to do nudescenes.
when she kept saying no, he likeasked her to put her finger up
his butt.
Like a bunch of like reallyweird, like inappropriate things
to be saying to like your caston your movie Like really

(06:15):
inappropriate.
And then she also talks aboutthe fact that she was like a
virgin until she was 35.
So it's like that's like afterthe first two pitch perfect
movies came out, I think so it'sbeen a long time.
and then the book like iswrapped up with, like the birth
of her daughter yeah and it'slike what a nice little place to

(06:37):
like wrap it up like in that, like to go from, like to like
the birth of your child.
It was really nice Because shehad a child at what?
42?
Yeah, through IVF with her wife.
So I don't know.
I thought it was a really goodbook.

Speaker 2 (06:56):
I know you said that Sacha Baron Cohen like sticking
a finger up his butt.
It's kind of weird.

Speaker 1 (07:04):
However, sacha Baron Cohen's a weird dude yeah, but
it was like I feel like itwasn't just that, it was like
one inappropriate thing that waslike.
Every time she was like oh,that makes me feel uncomfortable
, like he'd say something elseeven more inappropriate, or like
ask her to do something evenmore inappropriate, and it kept
going and going and going.

Speaker 2 (07:23):
Yeah, I know, I've seen Borat and I saw Bruno and I
know that those are prettygraphic films.
I don't know what film she did,but what.

Speaker 1 (07:36):
That was for Grimsby and it was like a fully scripted
, uh like comedy movie.
It did very poorly in ratings.
Also lost the company a lot ofmoney because no one saw it but.

Speaker 2 (07:49):
I never saw it.

Speaker 1 (07:51):
So I mean I don't feel bad that they lost money on
it.
And she that was like the firstmovie, I guess she like refused
to depress for and it was likeno, like I'm not going around
and like pushing this movie.

Speaker 2 (08:05):
Well, did she do it?

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Do what?
Put the finger up his butt, no.
And then she like kept sayingno to nudity, so he got like a
body double for her right.
And then they're like, oh, youhave to come in for reshoots.
And then he's like we addedthis graphic sex scene to open
up the movie.
Huh sex scene to open up themovie and like you have to now
perform this graphic sex scenewith me, like months after they

(08:28):
had finished, like wrapped onthe movie and she's like no, I
don't want to do that.
And they're basically likeforced her to.
They're like, well, yourcontract says blah, blah, blah.
I'm like that's really justlike crummy.

Speaker 2 (08:39):
Yeah, that seems like if usually, if you make a
contract, you can't addstipulations after.
That's a pretty.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Well, it's not adding stipulations after, but I don't
know, it's kind of like thatwasn't really agreed upon and
she's kind of like forced intoit, which is crummy.

Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yeah, that's a no-no.

Speaker 1 (09:00):
So what have you been listening to?

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Well, you're probably not going to like this, but
I've been listening to Slaughterby Prevail and there's a song
called Viking and it's prettyhardcore.
Don't worry, I just listened toit at the gym.

Speaker 1 (09:17):
Which, uh, now our baby is just going to be like in
his crib jamming out.
Just wait, next week I shouldstart playing some metal for him
.
We were listening to thatPirate Shanty music.
That was pretty fun when you'reletting him hang out and do his
little thing.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
This song called Viking hits pretty hard.

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (09:40):
If you're into gym music, this is one to add to the
playlist.
It's pretty epic.
If you're into gym music, thisis one to add to the playlist.
It's pretty epic, I would sayit's pretty unfathomable,
unfathomable.
Correct.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Cool.
So what I've been watching thisweek I started this show on
Netflix called Baby Reindeer andit's like at the beginning I
was like, okay, this is kind oflike lame, it's like the stalker
, blah, blah, blah.
By like the end of episode four, I was like, okay, this is kind
of like lame, it's like thestalker, blah, blah, blah.
By like the end of episode four, I was like this show is so
effed up, but like now I'm stuckand I have to finish it oh yeah

(10:13):
, is that kind of like that oneshow we watched you?
yeah, so they actually, like inthe tagline, called it like a
combination of you and fleabagall right so you get like a
little bit of like comedy andit's like dry, but you also have
like that weird stalkery kindof thing and like someone's

(10:34):
inner monologue going yeah, Iknow I did want to watch that
one, but instead I watched myhero, academia, yeah, which is
like kind of a kid show, but Ireally enjoy it I've also
because I haven't been sleepingat night because I've been sick.
I've been re-watching uh kimmyschmidt on netflix as well,

(10:56):
because it's just like a supereasy watch and I'm like I can
fall asleep to this and wake upand still know exactly what's
going on all right so it's agreat show to be in and out of.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
Yeah, have you been playing anything new?

Speaker 1 (11:07):
No, just torn.
I haven't really had the energyto do anything new or exciting.

Speaker 2 (11:12):
I've been playing a little bit of poker.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
On torn.

Speaker 1 (11:17):
On torn.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
So it's not real money, but you know, Still
learning.

Speaker 1 (11:21):
I know you're watching videos about like poker
.

Speaker 2 (11:24):
I was watching a lot of videos just because I find
them kind of entertaining howthey treat each other.

Speaker 1 (11:31):

Welcome back.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
Welcome.

Speaker 2 (12:55):
So I have a topic.
Did you know that SteamboatWillie is now public domain?
I did know that, actually, youknew that I did, I did know that
actually, you knew that.

Speaker 1 (13:06):
I did.
I actually read that recently.
I had seen that pop up, andthen I read the list of all the
things that were now publicdomain of interest.

Speaker 2 (13:14):
anyway, I thought I was being all savvy.
I'm like yeah, do you know, that's Mickey Mouse.

Speaker 1 (13:19):
I know it's crazy, because it's like that can now
be remade.
But it's like that can now beremade, but like it's disney,
right, like that's like how manyof the poo is like they're now
making those horror films andstuff and it's like so weird
that's huge.

Speaker 2 (13:33):
You can make like short films.
You can like add that you couldeven make little uh gifts you
know, we could just have our dogplay Steamboat Willie in a live
action film on Steamboat Willie.
We could replace SteamboatWillie with Somi.

Speaker 1 (13:50):
It'd be great, it'd be a wonderful time.

Speaker 2 (13:52):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:53):
Okay, you ready for some listener questions?

Speaker 2 (13:56):
All right, listener.
Questions Hit me.

Speaker 1 (13:58):
Okay, one of the questions is what have been the
hardest and easiest monthsparenting so far?
One of the questions is whathave been the hardest and
easiest months parenting so far?
I would say the easiest monthswere, honestly, probably like
the first month, even though wewere up a lot Like I felt like
it's not like he did any, likehe slept and he ate and he slept

(14:18):
and he ate, so that was reallyeasy.
He's also getting kind of easyagain right now because he's
like so much fun and he can likeindependently play and like
he's getting personality, whichis really cool.
I would say the hardest monthso far was probably like month,
was that like month five ish, where he like wasn't napping and
we like didn't have him on agood sleep schedule and it was

(14:40):
just like a mess I would prettymuch agree with all that I was
like there were several nightsin a row where it's like he
wanted to just be held all nightand I was like I can't hold you
all night, it's not a thing.
so for me those would be theeasiest and the hardest.

(15:01):
Someone asked how are youfeeling Right now?
I feel like garbage, Sweatygarbage.
How do you feel?

Speaker 2 (15:12):
I feel pretty good.

Speaker 1 (15:13):
And she's like I'm feeling nice, I'm nice and
healthy.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
I feel like I am feeling like the strongest I've
ever been, but I also feel likethe most walked on I've ever
been, because I'm feeling likethe strongest I've ever been,
but I've also feel like the mostwalked on I've ever been.

Speaker 1 (15:28):
Because I'm sick.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
Like my wife's sick.
My friends are walking on me,my child's walking on me,
literally.

Speaker 1 (15:35):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (15:36):
So I just feel like walked on, you know, like a
piece of garbage in that mannerLike, but I feel pretty strong
as an individual.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
Speaking about strength, someone asked what
your average gym workout is likefor you.
No, they didn't ask mine, theyasked for you.

Speaker 2 (15:56):
Gym workout, gym, what it's like.

Speaker 1 (15:59):
Yeah, like, what do you do when you go to the gym?
What's your average day at thegym?

Speaker 2 (16:04):
Wow, I really wasn't prepared for this.
So my average gym workout wouldbe cardio.
I always do cardio first, so Ido 20 to 30 minutes of jogging
and I always set my matrix tolike anywhere from five, three

(16:28):
to seven two, and then afterthat I'll do like a quick cool
down and then I'll go either hitmy legs real quick and do leg
extensions or leg curls and thenafter that I'll make a decision
based on what gym equipment'sopen and usually if there's a

(16:50):
bench, I'll just grab that rightaway and I'll just do like a
lunges, because I always want todo glutes and legs.
And then I'll always hit likedepending on what I feel is
least sore.
I'll do chest, shoulders, back, depending on what's least sore,

(17:12):
and a lot of times I'll alsojump over to uh resistant, um
bands or whatever they have, andthen after that I'll just go
and do like sit-ups, pushups, burpees, whatever I can do, and
then I'll also do like a littlebit of sauna or yeah, I really

(17:37):
want to get into cold plunge.

Speaker 1 (17:40):
What a good answer, very thorough, I like it.
So what is your go-to springcoffee order?

Speaker 2 (17:49):
I'm pretty much a cappuccino or mocha guy.

Speaker 1 (17:52):
Yeah, I'm well not coffee per se, but I've been
really into like the iced matchawith oat milk, like in the
afternoons.
I think that's really nice andalso I feel like on a normal day
, like an iced latte, just likean unflavored iced latte, is
pretty.
It's pretty much always good.

Speaker 2 (18:13):
I try to stay away from the lattes.

Speaker 1 (18:16):
Even though it's the same ingredients as a cap.

Speaker 2 (18:19):
Well, a cappuccino is like foam, Espresso and foam
he's like I like the foam versusthe milk.
Yeah, it's like a macchiatowith a slight little bit of
cream.

Speaker 1 (18:30):
Okay, last question for this episode what show or
movie most reminds you of theother, Like how they talk, dress
, etc.
I'm like what show or movie dothey dress like you?

Speaker 2 (18:42):
What do you think?

Speaker 1 (18:44):
I'm trying to think of an answer right now.
I'm trying to like.
It's hard because the firstthings that always pop into my
head are like what have Iwatched recently?
But that's not necessarily likewhat fits Andrew the best.

Speaker 2 (18:57):
What fits me, what fits you.

Speaker 1 (18:58):
I feel like you're very like Adam Brody-esque,
maybe, like I'm like what I keepthinking of the OC, but like
you're not the OC.

Speaker 2 (19:11):
Maybe I am the.

Speaker 1 (19:11):
OC, so maybe you are.
That's the first thing thatpopped in my head, so I guess
that's what I got to go with.

Speaker 2 (19:16):
What do you mean by like that, though?

Speaker 1 (19:19):
Like the characters, like either talk like you or
dress like you, or like there'ssomething about them that like
reminds.

Speaker 2 (19:25):
I've never seen it, so I'm curious.

Speaker 1 (19:32):
I've never seen it, so I'm curious I've only seen
parts of it.
It's actually a show I've beenmeaning to go back and watch.
I just watched 10 Things I HateAbout you, so obviously I'm
looking at your hair right nowand I'm like Keith Ledger 10
Things I Hate About you.

Speaker 2 (19:41):
She just thinks I'm Keith Ledger.
I'm not Keith Ledger, okay.

Speaker 1 (19:43):
Keith Ledger.

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Keith.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
Ledger I mean Heath Ledger's dead, so you're the
closest I could get.

Speaker 2 (19:49):
All right, fair enough.

Speaker 1 (19:53):
What would you say for mine?

Speaker 2 (19:56):
Well, I think that you would do well in the TV
series New Girl.

Speaker 1 (20:04):
He's like who's that girl?
It's Lince.
It's.

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Lince.
Your voice is so bad, it'sgrabbing like crazy.

Speaker 1 (20:14):
It's so fun.
So hopefully on this episodethis coming wednesday, hopefully
it sounds a lot better and youguys can be like yes, good job
your voice is a hundred for sure.
But thanks for sticking with usthis week.
It's been a rough one on theVoice, but you know some weeks
are rough but they always getbetter.

(20:36):
So until next time, ciao.

Speaker 2 (20:39):
We got so many topics for next time.
