Speaker 1 (00:00):
You were listening to Morning Drive with Christie Live on Demand.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
Six eighteen on Classic Kids one O three point seven,
and that is the perfect song to play this morning.
My name is Christy, producer Karina is here and I
will survive. I did survive a vicious attack a couple
of years ago. If you don't know, I was coming
out of a club in Oakland, mine in my business,
looking really cute in my dress.
Speaker 3 (00:26):
You were sober as well, thank.
Speaker 2 (00:28):
You, when somebody who wasn't sober made an illegal U
turn drove on the curb while I was waiting for
my uber and ran over my leg and foot. But
I have not seen the person who it turned out
I knew since that accident happened a few years ago
until yesterday.
Speaker 3 (00:45):
Ooh, Christy.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
So a few weeks ago we did this in the
Great Debate, and I was saying, Okay, I know I'm
going to be in the same event with this woman.
Speaker 4 (00:54):
What should I do. Should I cuss her out?
Speaker 2 (00:56):
Should I embarrass her because a lot of people don't
know she was the person who ran me over? Yeah,
And so I went to the grand opening of the
Lake Shore Cultural District in Oakland. There is now a
Rainbow Sidewalk for the LGBTQ plus community and she was
a speaker talking about anti violin. Meanwhile, you're running down
(01:17):
people on the streets of Oakland.
Speaker 3 (01:19):
I'm not taking accountability for it, but go ahead, Christy.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
So I watched her walk up and I was sitting
there fuming, you know, like a little temperature gauge like
starts at the bottom and the red like ticks up.
That was my Like, oh, I was so filled with
like anger and hate and I didn't expect to feel
that way because that is anti everything I'm about. And
(01:44):
all of a sudden, I felt a hand touched me
and I looked to my left and my friend Ken
Folks was sitting there and they had seen me and
they know the situation, and they reached out their hand
and they were just basically like, look at me.
Speaker 4 (02:01):
You are a highly flavored fait. I am highly flavored.
Speaker 2 (02:07):
You are a highly favored and blessed individual, and you
exhibit the grace and the capacity to show grace even
in the face of people who don't deserve it. And
that pup flight it like popped the hate bubble in
my soul. Wow, it really like snapped me out of it. Yeah,
And I almost started crying and I was like, oh
(02:28):
my god. And then I realized I'm the one sitting
here filled with hate and like anger and animosity.
Speaker 4 (02:34):
Yeah, that's affecting me.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Exactly while she's probably living.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Lying nobody in the room cares. But I'm over here like,
and I just figure, you know what, I gotta let
it go. Imagine if people would just let it go
and not go back for revenge or feel like that hate,
you know how much different the world would be.
Speaker 4 (02:55):
And I was just like, you know what, I would.
Speaker 2 (02:57):
Hate to live with that type of karma because if
she doesn't feel anything.
Speaker 4 (03:00):
She's a psychopath.
Speaker 2 (03:01):
And if she does, then that would be sucky to
live with that type of karma. Lots of your character, Christie.
I think that's really, like they said, graceful of you.
So she never even looked.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
At you or none of it. Nope, Yeah, that's okay.
The universe will handle her. Thank you that hard.
Speaker 4 (03:19):
I did put her down the stairs though, when she left.
I'm just kidding.
Speaker 3 (03:22):
I get snatched a couple of her tires, But you know,
I'm good graying. Well, I'm glad you went, Christy to
the event and I know.
Speaker 4 (03:30):
I'm meant a lot to you and I did go.
Speaker 2 (03:32):
So thank you to everyone who joined that great debate
a couple of weeks ago and gave me the advice
and the courage to go.
Speaker 4 (03:37):
So thank you so much. Yeah, I will survive. You
will too. You're holding a grudge. Let it go.
Speaker 2 (03:44):
Got some music on the way this morning from the
Rhythmics and Billy Idle.
Speaker 4 (03:47):
Coming up on Classic Hits, Christie Live. The Hunted Wives.
Speaker 2 (03:50):
Has drama, But move over, Netflix, the real drama is
right here on Classic Hits one oh three point seven.
It's six forty two, and it's also time to check
in with the Velasquez family. It's time for another episode.
Speaker 1 (04:04):
Of Torina's family drama.
Speaker 3 (04:07):
So, for those that don't know, I live with my
senior parents. On Friday, we're hanging out at the house.
My younger sister, Nikki, and my brother in law Steve
show up. Okay, we decide let's have a last minute barbecue.
So Steve says, I'm gonna go to the store to
get the food.
Speaker 4 (04:22):
Oh that's nice.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
Mind you that he doesn't really always get all the
groceries for his house. Okay, my sister does all the
grocery shopping because she knows what's to get. So we
tell Steve, Steve, make sure you get us a whole chicken,
get some sausages, whatever. We give him a list. He
comes back. Poor Steve had a little tiny package of
thin chicken breast. I says Steve, this is not going
to feed all of us. We ask for a whole chicken.
(04:46):
We live five minutes from Safeway Christy, as you know,
it's very close by.
Speaker 4 (04:50):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (04:50):
So Steve says, okay, well sorry, let me go back
and look for the whole chicken.
Speaker 4 (04:55):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (04:56):
Steve is gone for an hour. We try to figure
out where is Steve. So apparently he had a hard
time finding whole chicken. Steve comes back to the house.
What do you think Steve came.
Speaker 4 (05:09):
Back with a rotissree chicken, two.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Cornish hens, two small cornish hens. And I think he
thought that that's what we meant. There's six of us
in this house. We're not gonna eat these cornish hens.
This is not enough to feed all six of us.
(05:32):
So he got mad, said well, next time, one of
you guys can go instead.
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Good, Okay, everybody gets one ounce of chicken.
Speaker 4 (05:41):
An ounce. It was all bad.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
But come on, you don't know the difference between cornish
hens and whole chicken. Bless us heart.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
Steve went for chicken and came back with cornish hens.
Will he recover from this cluck up? We'll find out
next Tuesday. On a new episode of Karina's Family Drama, It's.
Speaker 1 (06:05):
So foul.
Speaker 5 (06:08):
All right.
Speaker 2 (06:08):

Speaker 1 (06:22):
It's Classic Kits one three points. Crazy Train News with
Christie Live in Morning Drama.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
Today, the Crazy Train is heading out to Pennsylvania where
a dog owner is recovering after his pet attacked him.
Speaker 4 (06:46):
What do you mean like a bite?
Speaker 6 (06:48):
No?
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Remember this is the Crazy Train. The dog shot is owner.
Speaker 3 (06:53):
How does that even happen?
Speaker 5 (06:55):
A dog had jumped up onto the bed, causing the
shotgun to go off and which ultimately struck.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
The According to police, a man had a shotgun on
his bed and the dog got a little excited and
jumped up on the mattress and that caused the gun.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
To go off and then hit the owner on the back. Okay,
blame it on the dog. Yeah, sure, Christy. Did you
hear about the three legged dog though, that walked into
the bar? No, he said, I'm looking for the man
who shot my paw. Oh, wow, get it because he's
d legged.
Speaker 4 (07:26):
Okay, and I got it. I got it.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
Luckily the man's okay, Yes, now you care about the man.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Now you care about the man who was shot by
his dog before it was.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Straight to the bar for the jokes.
Speaker 4 (07:45):
Oh, that's your daily crazy news story.
Speaker 3 (07:48):
Watch your back literally, okay. Okay, it's a rough crowd
in here. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (07:57):
Oh gosh, it's corny Joe's Friday. Yes, we're just letting
them rip.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
This morning.
Speaker 1 (08:03):
Morning Drive with Christy Live on Classic Kids one oh
three point seven, it's time for the Great Debate.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
There are less than forty five days until Christmas. But
when you walk into a target now, the CEO wants
to spread that early Christmas chair. I don't know if
you heard about this, but there is a new rule
that is being implemented in all of the targets and
people are calling it crazy.
Speaker 6 (08:29):
The retail giant is now requiring employees to smile if
they are within ten feet of a shopper. They also
have to make eye contact and or wave to or
greet the customer. If they're within four feet, the employee
should ask how the customer's day is going or if
they need help.
Speaker 2 (08:46):
The new four to ten you gotta be nice or
else policy at Target. The question for this morning's Great
Kindness Debate. Do you feel like this forced happiness and
forced kindness policy is a good thing bad thing?
Speaker 4 (09:06):
Do you feel like what? How do you feel about it?
Is the question, Christy? What do you say?
Speaker 2 (09:11):
I think any opportunity to spread human kindness and cheer
is a good thing. And it sucks when you go
into a store or restaurant and people don't speak, and
you see employees and they turn around and they don't
want to help you.
Speaker 4 (09:25):
Yeah, Or you see like three of.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Them hanging out and you clearly look like you need
some help and they're just on their phone or talking
and chit chatting. So I'm like, Hey, if this is
what it takes, I'm a here for it. Yeah, Christy,
I'm right there with you. I'm all for Target's mandate
new policy.
Speaker 4 (09:41):
Okay, so what do you think? That's the question?
Speaker 2 (09:44):
One eight sixty six, nine hundred and one three seven.
Tap the red microphone on our free iHeartRadio app to
join in on this morning's Great debate Target workers being
forced to say hello if they're within four feet, ask
you if you need anything? Ten feet you gotta flash
a smile.
Speaker 3 (10:05):
Or else.
Speaker 4 (10:07):
Hear your thoughts about this next on Classic.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Kid Bath to the Great Debate Classic Kids one oh
three point seven.
Speaker 2 (10:17):
Target is enforcing a new mandatory kindness policy. If an
employees within four feet, they have to ask you how
you're doing, if you need any help? Ten feet they
got a flash of smile and act.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
Like you mean it. What do you think about this
new policy? Is the question? This morning?
Speaker 3 (10:32):
Hi? Who's this?
Speaker 7 (10:33):
Hi?
Speaker 3 (10:34):
This in Dean?
Speaker 4 (10:34):
How are you great? Thanks for calling? What do you think,
Ashley Phil is that is.
Speaker 3 (10:38):
A good thing?
Speaker 8 (10:39):
Because what's say you're going through a bad day, right.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
Uh huh?
Speaker 8 (10:42):
And just a simple high or being in knowledge that
can actually make your day.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
It's true sometimes a simple hello can turn things around,
or a smile.
Speaker 8 (10:52):
And it's like everyone just seems so down. It's like
just a simple high will make your day.
Speaker 4 (10:57):
You know I heard that. Well, thank you so much
for calling it. Appreciate you. I'll note your vote. All right,
you take care you too. Good morning, Drew. What do
you think?
Speaker 7 (11:06):
Well, you know, I agree with the new policy because
you know how many times you walk into the store
and you excuse me, you need help, and they just
keep walking. Sometimes you know they hear you, but they
keep walking, right, So I don't want to have to
raise my voice. I don't want to have to yell
for you any help. Sometimes they ignore you because they
(11:26):
feel like, oh, this is not my department. Right, I'll
get someone else will help you. But you do work
for Targets, So I mean you should be able to
help in any department you're in. It makes sense to smile.
I do agree with the policy.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Cool, well, I'll note your vote.
Speaker 2 (11:40):
Thanks for jumping in, Drew to this morning's great debate.
Speaker 4 (11:47):
Target has a new mandatory kindness policy.
Speaker 2 (11:50):
Really, you got to acknowledge customers say hello if you're
within a certain amount of feet from them.
Speaker 4 (11:55):
What do you think about it? Is the question.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
You can always tap the red microphone on our free
Iheartrate app to jump in and join the fun.
Speaker 7 (12:01):
Good morning, Good morning.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
It's Ben.
Speaker 9 (12:03):
So yeah, I'm all about it. Every time I walk
into Target. You got some young kid, it's just their
first job. They don't want to be there. They look miserable.
It's just like, man, if you don't like being there,
then quit, go find a different job. If you're going
to be in customer care, agree with a smile, say hello,
say please, say thank you, say all those nice things,
and just like be helpful to the customer. That's how
(12:24):
I feel about it. So forcing people to do it,
but yeah, it should be done. Anyways, Good y'all.
Speaker 4 (12:29):
Thank you so much for the talkback.
Speaker 2 (12:31):
Appreciate you jumping in this morning for the great debate?
Speaker 4 (12:39):
Where do you stand on this mandatory kindness?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
One eight sixty six nine hundred one three seven, Or
you could do what Ben did, tap the red microphone
on our free iHeartRadio app, share a talk back. Hear
from you next on Classic Kid Classic.
Speaker 1 (12:53):
Kids one oh three point seven. The Great Debate continues.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
Smile for the camera, No smile, damn it. I'm just saying.
That's Target's new policy with their customer service reps. Basically,
Target is saying, if you see a customer and you're
within four feet of them, you have to greet them,
say hello, how you doing?
Speaker 4 (13:16):
You need something?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
If you're within ten feet of a customer, flash a smile.
What do you think about the new policy is the
question for this morning.
Speaker 10 (13:24):
I've been too busy to listen to the rest of
the replies, but I think it's a great idea because
half the people in there are so ignorant when you
need some help, they'll deliberately not pay attention to you
and look away. So good job Target.
Speaker 4 (13:38):
All right, Okay, you're real. Thank you so much for
the talk back.
Speaker 8 (13:43):
Hi, Christians.
Speaker 11 (13:44):
Is Joe from the self bay for a week. Good
morning everybody. I am with the new policy for Target.
If more places were like that, it would help get
rid of people who are not customer friendly. And this
you're picking up a paycheck, so I'm for it.
Speaker 4 (14:01):
Okay, another vote for it.
Speaker 2 (14:02):
Thank you so much for eight Joe. Okay, Linda, appreciate you.
Check it in this morning for the great debate.
Speaker 7 (14:13):
What do you.
Speaker 8 (14:14):
Think when you're a customer service, you have to smile,
you have to be nice, You have to ask if
you can help, otherwise, why are you there?
Speaker 4 (14:22):
Yeah, it's true, that's what.
Speaker 12 (14:23):
You get paid to do.
Speaker 8 (14:24):
I used to work in the service industry and I
still do. And even if I have a bad date, yeah,
I make sure that I'm nice to anybody else extra
because it's not their fault that I'm having a bad.
Speaker 2 (14:36):
Date, one hundred percent. My friend Mike and Reno said
the exact same thing. He's like, Hey, that's the job
you signed up for. That's the job you're getting paid
to do. Appreciate your call, Loopy, Thank you so much
for calling. What do you think about Target's new mandatory
gotta smile? Got to ask people if they need help
customer service policy.
Speaker 12 (14:54):
As a blind person, I've never had any problems at
started that I go to, and they always always say
can we help you? And they see Mike Kenness will
get some healthy right away. I mean, I've never had
any problems with servan. They're just so so nice. I
can't keep but I'm pretty sure they're smiling and everything.
They're just very very kind people.
Speaker 2 (15:09):
Well that is good to hear, you know, but you
see how that feeling makes you happy. You know, if someone,
especially an employee and customer service is kind to you,
it makes a big difference.
Speaker 4 (15:19):
So maybe the policy is good. Thank you so much, Lupe.
Always nice to hear from you.
Speaker 12 (15:24):
Thank you for being here for us, because you really
truly make our day just by hearing your laugh during
your jokes and everything. You guys are just awesome. Thank
you for being there.
Speaker 4 (15:32):
That is so sweet. Well, thank you.
Speaker 2 (15:33):
She was talking about me, not you, Krina.
Speaker 4 (15:37):
Wow.
Speaker 3 (15:38):
Speaking of being nice and kind and smile God.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Okay, people have spoken this morning.
Speaker 1 (15:47):
The debate.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
People, Christy, are here for the smiles and the mandate
at Target, be nice, be kind, greet people.
Speaker 4 (15:58):
That's what it takes. I mean, just be cool in
customer service.
Speaker 3 (16:01):
Yeah, exactly.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Oh please just ask me to help me find my vitamins.
Speaker 4 (16:07):
Peez. Come fine, all right, Christy Live.
Speaker 2 (16:10):
They've been listening to Classic Kids one O three point
seven nine. You can hear your daily crazy news story, Christy.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Have you seen the Scott Kelly resume video that's going viral.
Speaker 2 (16:20):
No.
Speaker 3 (16:21):
So, there's a guy that went to the Jonas Brothers
concert recently.
Speaker 4 (16:24):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (16:24):
He was looking up a resume on the resume. It
was this guy, Scott Kelly. Somebody behind him filmed and said, Hey,
Scott Kelly, this guy's looking at your resume. I hope
you get hired.
Speaker 2 (16:34):
Why was he in this man's business? Stay off my
phone for one. But anyways, what happened.
Speaker 3 (16:40):
Everyone's been trying to find out who this Scott Kelly
is what. Well, the guy that was looking at his resume,
they used to be in the same platoon years ago,
so they do a lot of work with veterans transitioning
into what do you call it civil life? Civilian life, yeah,
civilian life and finding work. So this guy was looking
(17:00):
up Scott Kelly and it turns out they knew each
other from like way back in the day, and the
guy was just trying to track him down to recruit
him to come work for him. No way and so like.
But this guy goes viral and everyone's wanting to know
does Scott Kelly get the job? That he get the job? Well,
the Jonas Brothers were on the Jimmy Fallon show last night.
Speaker 1 (17:19):
Uh huh.
Speaker 3 (17:19):
They invited this guy Scott Kelly had crazy to come
to the show. Uh huh. But Scott Kelly's like, I
wasn't even looking for a job. I don't even know who.
He's so innocent, He's like, I don't even know who
The Jonas brothers are.
Speaker 2 (17:32):
It's cool, but at the same time, everybody needs to
go home and put a privacy screen on their phone
because come on, that is kind of crazy.
Speaker 4 (17:40):
A random person could be looking you up.
Speaker 2 (17:43):
Yeah, someone else films it, and now the whole world
is talking about you and you're on.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
Jimmy Fallon, the.
Speaker 13 (17:48):
Gentleman who was actually in the video, reached out on
Veterans Day, of all days. Turns out he and I
were the same infantry battalion in the US Army back
in twenty fourteen, up at Fort Drum and now we
find out we're both in upstate New York working on
the civillion side.
Speaker 4 (18:00):
So a small world. That's awesome. Yeah, so did Scott
Kelly get the job?
Speaker 3 (18:04):
He doesn't need a job, he says, he hosts a podcast.
He's got a job. And Jimmy Fallon even showed his
LinkedIn profile with the QR code what right that said, Wow,
it's a really cool story.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
Well, if you want to get more information about it
at Classic Kids one O three seven FM on our
socials And.
Speaker 3 (18:20):
If you want to know who the Jonas brothers are,
ask the kids for me or Christie.
Speaker 4 (18:27):
They're kind of orage now right back to the music
in thirty seconds on Classic Kids.
Speaker 1 (18:33):
Classic Kids three Points Crazy with Christy Live in morning drops.
Speaker 4 (18:47):
So much for dogs being man's best friend.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
Today the Crazy Train is heading out to Pennsylvania where
a dog owner is recovering after his pet attacked him.
Speaker 4 (18:59):
What do you mean like a bite?
Speaker 2 (19:01):
No, remember, this is the Crazy Train. The dog shot
his owners.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
How did that even happen?
Speaker 5 (19:08):
A dog had jumped up onto the bed, causing the
shotgun to go off and which ultimately struck the mail.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
According to police, a man had a shotgun on his
bed and the dog got a little excited and jumped
up on the mattress and that caused the gun to
go off and then get the owner on the back.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
Okay, blame it on the dog. Yeah, sure, Christie. Did
you hear about the three legged dog though that walking
to the bar? No, he said, I'm looking for the
man who shot my paw. Oh, wow, get it because
he's three legged?
Speaker 4 (19:40):
Okay, and I got it.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I got it luckily the man's okay. Then, yes, now
you care about the man. Now you care about.
Speaker 4 (19:49):
The man who was shot by his dog.
Speaker 3 (19:53):
And before it was straight to the bar for the jokes.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Oh, that's your daily crazy news story. Watch your back literally.
Speaker 1 (20:02):
Okay, you're listening to the Morning Drive with Christie Live
on demand
